Just awful. Horrible and expensive acrylic nails. I paid $110 for a very disappointing French. I wanted an ombre nails and the “master artist” just say “I don’t know how to do that”. Then I asked for maybe some flowers and she said “ I don’t have time for that” like WHAT!!! I am paying this isn’t free. I was hoping she at least do a good job but nope. See the picture. HORRIBLE

The salon is very modern so that you sign in with using computer pads. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. My stylist was most helpful asking me questions designed to let her know what my lifestyle was like and what kind of hairstyle I favored in the past and letting her know the difficulties I was having in the present so that I needed someone to help me with my style. She did a wonderful job I love my haircut and Im looking forward to seeing her again
After having a very bad experience at a different salon, it took a while for me to come to any other salon. I booked an appointment with Rory for a balayage and cut. I once again left in actual tears, but this time they were of happiness! Rory made me feel so comfortable and took the time to listen to me and made my hair beautiful. I felt like I finally got my confidence back and feel amazing. I’m not sure what magic she did, but she is truly the best.
Once again, a TERRIBLE experience at Charles Penzone. How do they retain their “upscale” reputation!? I seriously want to know… Someone gave me a gift certificate to this place recently and in over 20 years of going here off and on I have literally NEVER had a good experience. I AM DONE. SCREW THIS PLACE. The girl who cut my bangs today (Brooklyn) was about the worst I’ve ever had in my entire life. The second she started chopping them straight across my forehead, I thought oh my God what did I do? Everybody that works here (regardless of their title) is an absolute amateur has no idea what they’re doing. Do not spend your money here!!! If you don’t listen to any other reviews- seriously- DO NOT GO HERE.
I finally found a hair stylist at Penzone’s in Dublin I’m committed to - he really knows what he’s doing. He listens, provides honest feedback, and we always have great conversation.
It is so unfortunate when you pay for a service and dont get what you asked for. The first time, they make you go back and the stylist is upset, and its awkward. The second time they tell you they can just schedule you (full price) with someone else. That is awful customer service. It did NOT used to be like this.
I recently visited the location and was very stunned at the quality of service that I received. I received a gift certificate as a birthday gift and was told this was the best of the best. Although customer service was not an issue it was how my nails looked 4-5 days after they were done. Immediately I noticed the nail was crooked and had a huge lump of dried acrylic that was not filed even with the other half of the nail. Then both of my thumb nails broke. I did call the location because after all I paid $90.30 for this full set of nails told them the issue and explained that I had a wedding to attend out of the state and was leaving very early in the morning the manager said we can get you in for a consultation I said ok went to consultation they said it can be taken care of later that evening at 8. So I went back at 8 and by the time she filed all of the gel polish off a nail lifted I asked her if that was going to happen on all she said no and instead of just repairing the whole mail she decided to sculpt them now I have these sculpted thumb nails that were not filed or drilled down and this is the repair. Now that Im at the wedding the morning of the wedding the nail broke because they were very thin from the beginning and now 6 of them are lifting. I now must soak them off to prevent fungus. I am so disappointed ☹️Update: Went to a different location where I received a whole new set nails (what a relief 😁) and thanks to Zeta my nails look great😊
Terrible experience. My facial was ok. Nothing special for the price I paid. The extractions were minimal. Lasted 30 seconds. I needed a lot more attention. Got derma-planing and my hairline was removed!!It’s self check in. No greeter at check in. No one to welcome you. Checkout was impersonal and cold. I spent hundreds of dollars and felt like they wanted minimal interaction with guests.Facial room had no music, no aroma therapy. Only a ticker constantly ticking to count down your time. The least relaxing facial of my life.I would never go to Penzone again.
I scheduled two blowouts at the same time for my mother in laws birthday and was canceled on the afternoon before because the stylist called off. I messaged them back around 5pm to ask if there were any other times available but didnt get a response. I called first thing this morning to ask if there was anyone else available at the same and the fellow on the phone responded with yeah if there were any other appointments open I wouldve told you already. He didnt offer to call if anyone ended up canceling around that time or anything. I understand that things happen and sometimes people have to call off but the lack of care from the staff here after ruining something special for my MIL was really disappointing.
I am NOT happy with my experience with Chelsea at the Dublin location. I am due to be married in less than two weeks and my hair looks atrocious. It looks like a person in a beauty school was trying out highlights for the first time. Its patchwork on my hair, color is inconsistent throughout, and its not even what I went into the salon for. I was there on Thursday, June 17th. I came in for a color w/cut and left with full highlights instead. 1) Its not even what I booked my appointment for and 2) she said I wouldnt be able to get my color I wanted and chose to do highlights instead. I only asked to be blonde. Ive been blonder than this numerous times in the past. I was told multiple times how bleach is the worst thing I could ever do to my hair. Chelsea worked me in between while working on another client. Its obvious she was double booked and didnt have the time to do the highlights (which I didnt want) and rushed through the entire appointment. My hair shows this too. She only shampooed my hair, no conditioner, no toner was used to de-brass the color of the highlights, only blew dry my hair with a round brush, no flat iron. I never got to see the back of my head before I left. I was never happy with the color, my appointment, nor what was done to my hair. If I had seen the back of my head prior to leaving I would have demanded things be fixed immediately. I cant be married looking like this.I have attached pictures of my hair and my co-workers hair (who has darker hair than I do but can get the color I want and she goes to Penzone as well and sees a stylist who has only been out of school 2 years) to see how bad I look and how great hers does. I chose someone on the scale above the entry level stylist, which costs more money, but quality wise looks below entry level.I would like things fixed. I cant walk around looking like this.
I love the convenience of scheduling an appointment here. The stylist are always nice. The atmosphere is relaxing.I have had my hair done, facials, and pedicures here, and I have had good experiences in each of these.
I was charged a no show charge for catching COVID the day of my appointment. They charge you no show fee for the services you were scheduled for. I was originally scheduled this day for root touch up, but magically when they charged late fee it was for roots, cut and highlights. I have never seen a salon treat people this way. Oh and their lighting is deceiving, my hair looked perfect color and cut, but once outside not so much.
I love this place so so much, I’ve been going here for almost a year and I absolutely love it, the people there are so sweet. But this review definitely goes to my stylist Tallulah (I probably spelled it wrong) but she is amazing with hair, she always gives me exactly what I want and does an amazing job. Now I won’t be back and I’ll make sure everyone else knows why!I’ve been going to Penzone for close to a decade with some minor hiccups, but today is definitely my last visit. I used to see Stella, and to be clear she does amazing hair services. Unfortunately this isn’t the first time I’ve had some surprises on the bill. I booked a highlights and cut, which per their website is what balayage highlights are considered. The luxe highlights on their website only list as being for heavier amounts of color, or especially long or thick hair. But I was still charged for luxe highlights at check out and told this was because of the balayage. When I showed your website to the cashier, he just said “aww sorry” and shrugged. He also said they upcharged me for toner, which HAS to be a joke. How are do luxe highlights services not include toner??? It’s not the price that’s the problem, it’s the lack of transparency. If balayage is an upcharge on regular highlights, then the price shouldn’t say $170, it should say starting at $170 or $170+. And the stylists should be communicating these upgrades to your services. My salon bill shouldn’t have more surprises than a medical bill.When I tried reaching out to customer service I was told to write an email so clearly no one there even cares. Not sure why I wasted my time writing this.
$135 for this mess by a director named Hanan.Compare my hair before and after the service.I feel terrible!Ive never had a haircut like this.I asked for trimming the ends without any layer or anything, and the director stylist at this salon does this to my hair! There is no refund or compensation for a hair that I dont know what to with! I ask for the compensation, they say the policy wont allow it. What happens to $135 I paid for this mess that takes a year long to get back to what it was before? Im traveling out of town on Wednesday and they are not even scheduling an appointment for me after 5 with my usual stylist so that she can fix it for me. Worst customer service!
I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO THE POLARIS LOCATION.Ive been coming to Penzone since February 2024, booking only with Ruby. Ive always had pleasant experience until now. I booked an appointment for May 16 at noon as a gift for my sister, calling the Dublin location. When I showed up for my appointment, I was unable to use the self-service check-in. I got to the front desk and was told by the receptionist/cashier that she did not know who Ruby was and that she was not at that location. Obviously I knew that that wasn’t true, and proceeded to pull up the calls that I had made to schedule the appointment. They did some digging and realized that when I called to schedule with Ruby, I was scheduled for her at the Polaris location instead of Dublin. That information was not relayed to me whatsoever. The receptionist apologized for the confusion and told me that she could only reschedule me at a later date. rescheduled for May 23 at noon. My sister called me and told me that she was unable to make it and if I could reschedule. I have never rescheduled or canceled before, so I of course told her yes. I called to reschedule and was disrespectfully greeted by Brenda. When I told her I needed to reschedule she immediately cut me off and said well you will be charged half the service because our policy says that a late reschedule or cancellation is 50% of the service. I’ve never done either of those so I was unaware. I expressed my frustration with the fact that I was given misinformation on May 16 and the only reason I had an appointment on the 23rd was because of the lack of information i’d received previously. Brenda proceeded to tell me she’s not going to argue with me about it, we’re just over 60 seconds into the call, there wasn’t even time for me to argue. She was simply rude, continuously cutting me off and telling me that I need to calm down, saying all she can do is reschedule but she can’t guarantee that I won’t be charged 50% of the service. She then hung up on me. I called back telling her that it was very rude for her to hang up on me as we were in the middle of a conversation and she said “ well, who would you like to speak to?” and I said the manager or whoever is above you. She cold transfered me and sending me to the Polaris location. Not only did she hang up on me twice, she was disgustingly rude to me. Instead of listening to my previous issues with the initial appointment and politely providing me with information and/or other options, she cut me off and refused me the opportunity to speak with her management. This is by far the most disgusting interaction I’ve had with this location. I did however stay on the phone with the Polaris location and Valerie was very pleasant and was able to help me book another appointment and provide me with policy information for future reference. This will absolutely be the last appointment with Penzone dublin, thanks to Brenda. And if it wasn’t for the fact that it was a birthday gift for someone else, I wouldn’t even reschedule it.
1. Chipped nail 24 hrs after a TWO HOUR appointment.2. After 5 days, gel nail polish peeled from thumb nail and chipped on multiple fingers.3. Got nails fixed after making 2 appointments. First one requiring me to miss work and then the tech canceled because she didnt know how to fix gel nail polish on acrylics???4. Original gel polish is horribly discolored and i am extremely careful with my nails5. 2 weeks and my nail split. One of the gels that were fixed and it is split.6. Never going to this place again
I saw Quinn at Dublin for an Ombré. The appointment was rushed and this was the result. This place is too expensive to walk out feeling guilty for asking for better and receiving poor customer service. I have seen Martha in the past and she is fantastic! If you don’t know how to do a certain hair technique, seek assistance.
I had a great experience at Penzone today. The people working there were very nice and did a great job of throughly cleaning the chairs after people sat on them.Before today, I had only gone to Penzone a couple of times when I wasnt able to go to the hairdresser that I normally see, but after my experience today, I might consider going to Penzone more often.Madeline cut my hair today, and she did an amazing job! When I told her that I wanted my hair thinned out and trimmed down to a long bob style, she listened to what I said and even made suggestions as to how to make it better (i.e. cutting my layers and make my haircut frame my face better). She was very friendly and her haircutting was very precise. If youre going to Penzone for a haircut, I would definitely recommend that you go to see her!
I scheduled a highlight with Tate at the Polaris salon and left paying for a balayage. Before this appointment Id seen her twice for a cuts and style and talked about wanting highlights. The day of the highlight, I went in and had my hair foiled and paid $220 for chin length hair. I thought it was steep but I didnt question it at the time. Now, its a month later and I wanted to schedule my next cut and I saw on my profile on their website that I had a balayage. I then followed up to speak with the salon about this mishap and spoke with Cordelia and she reviewed with Tate what happened with my hair appointment and Tate said that she discussed what kind of hair treatment she was doing on my hair. Meaning she talked about giving me a balayage instead of highlights. This is not true, she didnt discuss giving me a balayage, she only asked about the color of the highlights. I scheduled the highlight because that is what I wanted and Im not sure why she gave me a balayage. After speaking with management about my hair appointment, I am not receiving a refund for the difference. Why would a salon give a different service than requested? I feel robbed and feel that Tate is a dishonest stylist. I would warn anyone who wants to schedule with her. She is a Director and I felt like I was in good hands with her level of experience, but the dishonesty is unacceptable and they shouldnt employ people who cheat their customers. Additionally, the manner in which Cordelia handled my situation didnt make me feel acknowledged and valued as a customer. Without happy customers, a business cant be successful. I will not be returning.
I went to see Sunny for eyebrow microblading at this location. When I tell you she is incredible, it doesnt even begin to describe how profoundly she transformed my eyebrows. They went from overplucked, sparce lines to full perfectly symmetrical works of art. My brows have never been this gorgeous. Im obsessed! Sunny is truly a miracle worker!
Kerria & Brooklyn did an amazing job. They are so personable and make me feel so welcomed when I come in. I will definitely be back to see them!

Daughters long hair didn’t get layers as asked, she showed photos . The director gave what look like steps! Scheduled a redo, my 17 said no not the same lady to butcher my hair further. Cancelled appoint. As a family we will never be back for anything. Horrible service $120 for a botched haircut is a joke. Yes she is crying in the photo.

The salon itself is super nice and my stylist was kind, but the customer service and experience was poor. I’ve never been to a salon where a stylist was almost 40 minutes behind to a 2 hour appointment, and the hosts did not check-in to see if I still wanted to wait or reschedule, or provide any update as to what was going on, without me having to ask multiple times. Additionally, because my stylist was so far behind, my appointment was completely rushed and I felt like I couldn’t ask for what I really wanted, because there wasn’t time, and the salon would be closing in 80 minutes. I was booked for an all-over color and cut, and my stylist asked me if I “really wanted a hair cut,” so as a result I ended up saying I just wanted a quick trim, when I had really wanted a different cut. I also ended up leaving with hot roots, and having to have my hair corrected at another salon because the color was so uneven that my stylist actually asked me if I had box dyed my hair myself. I totally understand running behind, and I was fortunate to have been able to book a same-day appointment, but I would have rather been asked if I could re-schedule for another day or time, instead of wasting money and time on a service that was poorly executed and stressful for both myself and the stylist.
Sunny is amazing!Over the past few months, I have had permanent cosmetics done by her on my lips, eyes (upper & lower eyeliner) & eyebrows (microblading). I am absolutely blown away with the results and LOVE everything she has done. Not only is Sunny very talented, but she is extremely kind and caring. She made sure I understood the entire process and healing time. She also ensured I was comfortable and relaxed during my visits. Thanks to Sunny, I had the best experience & will continue to have gorgeous, effortless makeup every day! I highly recommend permanent cosmetics & Sunny to anyone considering this.
Ive had to get my hair corrected twice after getting it done in two different situations with two different stylists. Each time they leave yellow or brass in it. Not sure if its the new people there but been going for years with no issues until now.During the redos Ive called within 2-3 days after getting it done and the centers have either booked me for the wrong thing which then the stylist cant do my hair because they dont have enough time which then makes me go in again or they just complain about having to do this. Its never a great end result or even a good start.The first time the girl cut my hair way too short just chopped it without asking if the length was good. Nothing you can do there but didnt even face trim. This time I got a trim an actual trim and it was uneven. So Im left with yellow streaks and uneven haircut. Ive never hated my hair more!I think after years of going Ill be going somewhere else especially with more pleasant people and would not recommend.
I had my bachelorette party here this past Saturday. It was very unorganized. I’ve had three of my wedding nails break before I left the parking lot and I have some sort of infection in my toenail . I didn’t get my facial I was overcharged we didn’t get lunch as we talked about. Nobody can call me back to make things right. I’ve been waiting two days for a phone call. I will be canceling make up services. Do you not go here?
I was thoroughly impressed with the services I received by esthetician Harley—I highly recommend her. It was the best facial I’ve ever received! My skin was glowing and felt so rejuvenated afterwards. I can’t wait to book another appointment.
They are good until they are good. They have no consideration for their clients. I’ve been a client at Charles PENZONE Dublin for 2 years. I’ve had to wait for 30 min or longer than my appointment time most times. Not complained one single time. But I missed one appointment because I was in a real emergency at the hospital with my mom who had a heart attack. Inspite of telling them why I had to miss the appointment and despite being willing to show proof from the hospital, they decided to charge me the full service amount and will not refund that back! And it’s not cheap!! The person who spoke to me over the phone was so rude!! I called several times for follow-up and they said a manager would call me back to sort this out and no one ever called back! I cannot believe that this place has no consideration or value for people!!UPDATE: After I posted this review, they call from the salon that they stylist (who is even a director!) does not want to take me for my next appointment because of me not showing up for my last appointment. Seriously?!? Its not like she did not get paid for my last appointment. She charged me the full service amount without giving any consideration to the situation and now she does not want to do my hair! The person who called me had nothing to say but sorry. This place is awful. I dont think anyone who would like to be treated like humans and who would like to get good customer service should ever visit this place.
I moved to Columbus last year and received a recommendation from my previous salon in Austin. Amanda Huff is not only amazing at what she does, she is also very friendly and personable and moves quickly. Ive left with perfect highlights and cut every single time. I highly recommend her!
What is happening with Penzone? I have been a loyal customer for 13 years. I called to schedule a haircut at Dublin and cancelled 10 min later on a Friday. Then I rescheduled the next day at their Lewis Center location for Sunday. It was a terrible haircut so I wasn’t charged. But I did purchase conditioner. Next I knew, I was also charged $65 cancellation fee for the Dublin haircut. I called and called to figure out what happened. Never had this happen before EVER. Was told about their new policy at that time finally on Monday (not when I booked that Friday)— it was bc I scheduled/cancelled in less 24 hrs first Dublin haircut due to their new policy even though appt was scheduled and cancelled in less than 24 hrs. Who knew? I tried to argue it but Penzone didn’t care. No notification nothing when I booked appointment. They kept my card on file from my appointment back in 2020 when I booked an appt using their old app. The whole thing is shady. Penzone is now Salon Lofts where hairdressers make the decisions and charge your card on file even if you book/cancel in less than 24 hrs. Not the company. Terrible customer service. Sorry, Penzone, but you’ve lost a lifelong customer. You could have made much more than the $65 you charged/could have easily refunded; and caused so much stress. Not worth it.Update: I am filing a BBB complaint. What occurred was predatory practice.
Quinn is the only reason this review is 5 stars instead of 1. I got my hair colored and cut by another stylist last week and it was the worst color job I’ve ever received. I called the salon the next day to try and get it fixed. They scheduled me with Quinn for a few days later. She was wonderful. Actually listened to me and did what I wanted done to my hair. We had a great conversation and I will be coming back to see her again. Great job Quinn!!
My 5 Star Review is for Penzone’s new stylist, Aldina. If you have the opportunity to sit in her chair, you will not be disappointed. I have been a client of Aldina’s for 7 years and have never had a cut I wasn’t absolutely in love with. She took me from a sexy balayaged blonde to a brunette with a sassy undercut without blinking. She is kind, personable and one of the best stylists you will encounter. I will be driving to Columbus (a 4 hour drive) as often as possible to get my haircut and she is worth every mile.
Great experience! Sloan did my hair and Jesse did my friends hair. Both ladies did a fantastic job and we both highly recommend. We also had the pleasure of meeting Debbie Penzone who could not have been kinder and more welcoming. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis!
I really wanted to be able to have a good experience here.I’ve had several average experiences here in the pastToday I went and I had some uneven face framing from a previous cut so I told the stylist. I told her I didn’t like the face framing in general and wanted to grow it fully out. She cut BOTH sides shorter and it’s not faded in well at all and looks super weird. She may have been distracted as she was going into great detail about her personal life (I understand she’s going through a tough time but I don’t want to feel like I’m working while getting my hair done).It cost $100 and all I wanted was a one inch trim. I unfortunately won’t be back, and I wish that wasn’t the case.
Cherisse was my technician. She was great. Pleasant conversation.Spa environment was upscale. Very nice. Expensive but worth it. Got the Luxe Pedicure. Feet feel great!
Unfortunately had a horrible experience and recommend going elsewhere for all your salon needs in Columbus. I was beyond disappointed, as I thought Penzone was a reputable salon that cared about this customers. I got a brow lamination that lasted for 24 hours (I was told it would last 6 weeks, and I followed all instructions given for caring for my brows). I had spent $120 for a brow lamination that lasted 24 hours. Needless to say I was very dissatisfied with my service. I’m not sure which was worse- my brow lamination that didn’t work or Penzones customer service. I had sent multiple emails, they would tell me they’d call me back and wouldn’t, I was constantly the one having to follow up after weeks of not hearing anything. It took a month of me reaching out to Beth and Gabriella to finally be told I would not receive any help. It was truly the most unprofessional, unpersonable experience. I felt very unimportant, unheard, and disrespected by customer service. I’ve NEVER experienced this customer service from any salon ever, truly unbelievable. My friends have all stopped going there since, and have found more personable salons since! The last thing you ever want to feel from a salon is to feel like just a number to them. I unfortunately was made to feel that way.
I love Charles PENZONE. The Dublin salon is the best, super clean, comfortable and well maintained. Madeline Oney is hands down the best hair stylist ever. She genuinely cares about her clients. She takes the time to get to know them and doesn’t treat anyone as if they are just another customer. She is knowledgeable and makes honest recommendations about what’s best for your hair.
I love the salon! My stylist Vita is extremely talented. I have been getting my hair done for over 25 years with complicated highlights that have taken 4 to 5 hours in every salon I have visited. Except this one! Much to my most unexpected, surprise- Vita is a hair ninja! She always has me in an out in 2 hours or less with a cut, highlights, conditioning treatment and a blow dry! She is amazing! Plan a bit ahead for an appointment because she has become popular due to her rockstar skills. :)
Due to an issue with your computers, an appointment for a Blowout I made for my pregnant daughter-in-law, (coming from out of town for a baby shower within 2 hours) wasnt scheduled on your system. I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Grace, your Dublin Mgr. for making it work. Employees like her are hard to find and she was the best!!
I received a gift card from my kids for Christmas so I went to the Dublin location to get my nails done. I am so disappointed. The nails are lifting from my regular nails and i have 3 different shapes of nails (square, coffin and oval). I spent 101.00 the most I have ever spent on a set. This should have been the best set of nails that I have ever had yet it was the worst. It took the nail tech 2.5 hours to complete the set. I have an appointment at a different location today to get it fixed before fungus grows on my nails. I would never get my nails done there again.
I have had them call me twice to cancel my appointments the first time was an hour before my appointment. It took three weeks out from that date to schedule another appointment and at 730 am I received another call canceling my 11am appointment. The worst part is they have no flexibility to work in someone or to adjust another stylist fee to accommodate for their issues. I am very disappointed I have not used them before I was given gift cards to them 2 years ago and decided to try them. I have scheduled an appointment where I usually go. The customer service under the circumstances should have been much more apologetic and definitely more flexible.
I had the absolute worse experience. From booking to checking in. This was my second time here. I walked in to check in no one was friendly or helpful or smiling. I called prematurely to advise I was running 7 mins behind. They said that’s fine come on in. On arrival of the time I had given. I couldn’t check In. No host was there to assist. So I got in the customer service line waited. Then reach the counter on to be told by an unfriendly customer service cashier that she didn’t see my appointment ask me who I was seeing and went back to check to see Ruby to advise. I was there. Then came back and stated you’re 20 minutes late. Which it took her all of 20 mins trying to fine me in the system, she was not made aware I previously called about my 7 min late arrival. Which if it was an issue I could have rescheduled instead of getting there. I spoke with an unfriendly manager also no smiles. They were acting as if I were invisible and made sure I didn’t feel welcome. I’m not sure if it was because of my race I was treated this way but it sure felt like it. The most uncomfortable experience I have had in many years. My 1st experience here was ok. I came back to see if I would get a better one it was worst. Never again. Definitely not luxury or great service.

Update from 3 stars to 5 stars. 11/29/2021They called me for a redo. And this time I am super satisfied with the service. I loved the stylist, she did an amazing job. Made me super comfortable and didnt let me leave till I was happy. Skye has done super amazing job. And the best thing, she is super friendly. I would definitely go back to her.
Hair cut was not up to standard for the price charged. Bangs uneven. Stylist also used a lot of color- painting a good portion of my face and not rinsing my hair well after it had processed. I called the guest service center and she said she would get back to me about an appointment to fix the bangs. I missed her call, but she left a message saying she would call back in the next 20 or so minutes to get me scheduled- she never did. I could remedy the situation by calling again, but for spending over $100 on a cut and color I expect not to need a correction service. Nail service was fine, but I won’t go back to them for hair. The experience made something that was supposed to be fun and relaxing into something anxious and unenjoyable.
My stylist Tellullah was AMAZING! She understood exactly what I wanted when describing the weird and unique way I wanted my hair and was so friendly when I would tangent off to random topics while talking.The overall vibe is very calming and friendly, same with the staff!I think I’ll make this my new #1 choice when getting my hair done! :))
I’ve been going to Sarah at the Dublin location for around two years I believe and have left happy every time. My first appointment with her was when she came to my rescue to fix someone else’s work I wasn’t happy with. I’ve gone back to her ever since. She always listens to what I want and discusses the options with me to make sure we can achieve it and keep my hair healthy. I am so sad I am relocating and will have to find a new stylist. She is awesome and I definitely recommend her!
Very poor customer service! I was prepared to sink acouple grand in gift card for the holiday season, but upon arrival was treated like a second class citizen. They judged a book by the cover and now I will never spend another dollar with them.
I used Penzone for their bridal services on demand for my daughter’s wedding. The bridal coordination in the back-office needs help. Returning emails and phone calls is challenging for them. Their lack of organization was apparent when I asked for a spreadsheet of expenses vs. what I had paid. Their sheet had columns for expenses but did not show all that I had paid thus far. I asked for accounting clarification and was assured all my payments would be included. Well, the day of the wedding they overcharged my credit card. It took nearly two months of emailing and calling to finally get it refunded. Do yourself a favor and don’t use Penzone bridal. Their lack of organization is not worth the headache.
I had appointment last Saturday, April 15th. I was disappointed because they cant do what I want for my hair color. I want to color all my hair but they refused it. They said they cant do it coz it takes so long & expensive. They rather do highlight instead color all my hair. I dont understand why they do care the price & time. Most people knew that salon is expensive. It was a millions terrible experience. If you guys, wanna color your hair, I will never ever recommend the Penzone Salon. I had to find a new hair stylist after moving here and Penzone did not disappoint! I have been getting my hair done with Jade since the beginning of the year and my expectations are always exceeded. She is just phenomenal. Everyone who works there is so kind and receptive. I love the actual salon too - it’s a modern building with lots of space for sitting, chatting, and even a bar/cafe for snacking! I would 100% recommend.
I just had my hair appointment today with Sloan. I didn’t feel rushed and she took her time. She listened to what I wanted, and pretty much did what I asked of her with my hair. She really did a great job. My first appointment with her, and I just booked my next appointment. My daughter and MIL also had appointments with other stylists at Penzone at same time today, and we all had a great day there. We traveled about 2 hr. one way to get there. It was fun. If you are looking to change up your mundane hairstyle and get a fresh set of eyes for a trendy look, I recommend trying it out.
The make up was disappointing. I told her it was for my sons wedding. The foundation was too light for my skin tone. I felt like I had a few inches of foundation on. I did not feel it was worth 75 USD!!
I love everything about this salon and the people that work here. I usually get my nails done but decided to go for hair services today. I made my appointment on line as I normally do. When I showed up, no appointment was made. Of course at first I was so upset - come on when you think you are going to get your hair done you really - or at last I do - get excited. So no appointment, sad Friday.... but wait! An incredibly helpful customer relations person came to my rescue. Not only got me booked for the time I had before but made me a nice latte and a comfy place to sit while I waited for the stylist to be available. She went above and beyond to make sure she did everything she could to get me worked on today and making me comfortable and happy. You just don’t see customer service like this now a days. But you can’t go wrong with Penzone Salon and Spa in Dublin!! Thank you for saving my Friday!!
This is the first time I wrote a review because this is just upsetting. Bad experience with the hair stylist. She showed up late and everything felt very rushed during the service. It started off fine until I asked her to cut my hair even shorter than what she already did (it was like few minutes after she cut it and checked with me on the length). She wasnt happy and told me that I couldnt keep changing my mind and I need to decide on 1 thing and stick with it because she didnt have much time. It was frustrating because its written in the appointment that the haircut is a 45 minutes of a service and by the time we finished, its exactly 45 minutes from the appointment time although she was late.This is the first time a hair stylist scolded me for adjusting the length of the cut after being asked about it (whats the point of asking then?). I also felt rushed from beginning to end, so after that moment I was reluctant to say anything more just to get myself done quickly and get out of there. Definitely not going to go back there again!
I absolutely love the feel of this salon. I had the best experience with Daphne. My transformation was unreal. I have always had thin flat hair however decided to try to what she recommended to me as long lasting extensions along with color matching of my own hair. The process was done in half the time as normal extensions and the color she gave me was beautiful. What an amazing person not only as a hair artist but she made you feel welcomed and comfortable. Highly recommend booking an appointment with Daphne!!
The massage was wonderful. However, when I checked out, I was told I owed $66. I had signed up for a 30 minute massage which cost $50. Told this to the cashier who didnt know what to do, so I asked for the manager. Manager told me that I had a massage from an upper level masseuse who charges more plus there was a charge for the oil she used. I explained what I signed up for and the manager didnt believe me. I had never been to Penzones and had no way of knowing that this person cost more than advertised on their website. Manager insisted that I pay the whole amount. I call this bait and switch. I will never go there again and I suggest that anyone reading this avoid this store.
Cameron did my last lift and tint today in Dublin and it was a great experience. Not only is she so kind and a pleasure to be around but she did an amazing job. I only had a lift and tint once before this at another company and it wasn’t a great experience and my lashes look a million times better this time than they did the last. It looks like I’ve got mascara on and they look BEAUTIFUL. I’m so pleased.
Tabitha is AMAZING. Textured hair can be hard to find a stylist for, and she does great work every time. She totally changed the look and feel of my hair and recommended products that gave me the hair I always wanted. I’m at the stage now where my hair is healthy enough to try fun things and I’m loving it. Not to mention, they have the best Pedicures in town. Even my winter-feet are soft for over a month afterward. I live on the other city of the city and will make the drive every time, way worth it.
I have used Penzones for years and really liked their services! So I was really excited to use them for my wedding coming up. However, their bridal coordination is not up to standard. I have gotten late, missed and even no response at all. And when I did finally get a call, the coordinator was uninformed and poorly prepared. You would be better served using an independent artist. October 11th, I had a waxing appointment at 2:15 that went fine, and then was seated in the waiting area, to await my 2:30 hair appointment. At 2:45 I inquired about my appointment just to make sure I was checked in. I was informed my appointment had been cancelled by the stylist because I was 15 minutes late. Interesting, I’ve been in this salon since 2:10. The cashier brought out who I am assuming was the manager of the salon. This person was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. Zero customer service skills. In the market for a new salon if anyone has any recommendations!
I should have reviewed this place earlier but I’ve been twice based on a very generous gift cards I’ve been given. The first time I went I used it for a manicure and pedicure. The procedure was relaxing and took awhile. However it was very expensive. I got a gel manicure and my nails chipped within the first week. I was very unimpressed given it was about double the cost from standard nail salons.The next time I went back I went for a facial and a haircut. The facial was very nice. However my haircut experience lacked. My stylist was running late and apologized. I explained the cut I wanted , an angled bob. They gave me a blunt cut and I think the cut was rushed Then- because the stylist was running late - he sent me to my facial with wet hair and my styling unfinished. When I was done with my facial,, I went back to him and an assistant dried my hair and then walked away “because her boss called her”. It was unprofessional and left me feeling forgotten. It’s a lovely place and clean, but I won’t go back on my own accord.
Mika was who did a perm ($138) as a manager exec not insuring ms.shirley bayer(82) was given the care she deserved to fix an entire palm size area on her left side crown of head wasNOT PERMED AT ALL ! Shirley pointed this out to MIKA who only said she didnt know why and offered no way to fix or correct it. She went on to say next appt.schedule with nothing done to remedy...ms.shirley has been a regular customer for several years..it appears MikaSimply doesnt care how this lack of concern / remedy affected ms.shirley.s day and attitude over being taken for granted..a $40 tip..(usually $100..each time..) she talked about being taken & not understanding why it couldnt wasnt fixed for over 3 hours upset,crying and hurt that she was not fixed as she expected it would be done..Chas.penzone stands for excellence top of line SALON...why would that be ok?She sd.over and overAsian culture is very shy & respectful ,even when upset,not to make a scene..but as her friend, not standing up to mistreatment and lack of care for your business is reprehensible!!She was also drenched to her underwear,being hosed down during this appointment, I personally asked the front desk to speak to a mgr. She blonde long hair on right side checkout said she could help..with problem ...asked for a teeshirt..gratis..) she went to the office behind her..again no effort to resolve issues..SD she could go check Mika..no shirt . Leaving ms.shirley standing at desk checkout...she got so upset she left soaking dripping wet ...shirt.pants..down rhrough underwear too...I wound up taking her all the way home to change to all dry clothes before we could do any of her errands, making her MORE UPSET!!this is horrible way to treat long term customers!!I called again while waiting for her to change..got hung up on while on hold waiting for a response and a resolution to this experience today..got hung up on..while waiting..store closed before I could call back..to get some results.The Penzone Salon and family prides themselves with unmatched total customer satisfaction.Their reputation in Dublin,New AlbanyEtc. Would know this actions today do NOT meet their high standards..having a manager exec who is responsible for thisUltimate FAILI dropped Ms.Shirley back at her home at 630p. Very disappointing experience with a senior director. My full highlight wasnt a full, much less a partial. I could still see my roots after blowout. They only processed me for 15min which seemed too short to me but Im not the expert. I was left with very inconsistent highlights throughout, with shades of purple and blue instead of platinum immediately after. I had to ask for a bang trim with my haircut and before I could finish explaining how short I wanted them cut she was already cutting. I asked for a round brush blowout but the brushes (there was an assistant) never touched my roots, only my ends. I was not offered or given any volumizing mousse and my very fine hair was totally flat when styled. I was never provided or offered a mirror to see the back of my hair before having my cape removed. All of this happened so fast I didnt feel I had a chance to speak up. I felt completely rushed the entire time and feel like I got the absolute bare minimum service. Extremely disappointing.
Last haircut/color was a bad experience. The cut was fine, but the girl used no toner after I asked for toner and then left me with wet hair. Usually i get a blow dry and style included in the price. I reached out to the team and they did nothing.
Booked a whole day of spa, they forgot they didn’t have food…..(the spa day was good so we overlooked the no food situation) You have a bad experience, (pedi a while ago) nothing done. They charge you incorrectly, (same pedi) you call, they “say” they will put money on your account but don’t, just got my hair done, no money on my account! I’m not going back. I did love my hair guy but between the bad customer service from the manager and the new ‘credit card on file’ policy, I’m gonna go ahead and switch salons. If my hair guy reads this: You’re great and hope you go to a better salon!!!
I had such a great experience with Carol who styled my hair for a trial run for my daughter’s upcoming December wedding—-that i scheduled to have her color, cut and highlight my hair yesterday! I love it! I am so glad I made the switch to Penzone Salon and Spa Dublin! Carol is fantastic and really fun to chat with! I am thrilled with my hair! I look forward to seeing her next month!
Horrible experience! For Xmas got a gift certificate for my daughters and myself to have a spa day. Drive 2 hrs to spend the weekend in Columbus at a hotel. Scheduled 3 months in advance, they moves our location x2, rescheduled our services. After I had a horrible 15 min “bar facial” basically in their waiting room I get told “oh sorry that’s not what you were scheduled to have but I’ll cover it for you and sit here by yourself for over an hour waiting for your massage”. My daughters were devastated when they came out of their services to find out what happens and how long i was just sitting there. The manager did nothing but blame everyone and took no blame for what occurred. After we left my one daughter said. “Oh my massage was horrible. I was so uncomfortable the masseuse touched me inappropriately, she kept putting her hands in my underwater and kept pulling them down “ We were told we would be contacted. We were not we had to reach out to them. They said they would follow up with us and we are still waiting. It’s been 2 weeks. If your in Columbus. Go to Hand and Stone, they are phenomenal!
My appointment was cancelled the day of. Don’t take appointments and then cancel. It’s rude and I wasted my afternoon driving here.
I have always done my own hair. I was treated to a hair color cut and express facial. I am extremely happy with my hair and the facial. It was a very comfortable environment and everyone treated me as if they knew me. I will always go to Dublin PENZONE and never do my own hair again!! Just a quick note I was good at doing my own. After almost 40 years, today was my last visit to Penzone’s. I started going to Charles Penzone’s when I was in high school and it was just a little corner salon on Henderson Road. Since that time, if I were living in Columbus, that’s where I’ve had my hair done. I’ve met Charles Penzone, I believe, four times. Each time he was so nice to talk to and very appreciative of my business. I wonder if he is aware of what has happened with his salons? Today I was told that if I wanted to book another appointment, they had to keep my credit card on file. I don’t leave my credit card on file with anybody. Not in person or online. Nobody has any business keeping your credit card information unless it’s necessary to charge it when you can’t be there in person to present your card. Why on earth would my hair salon need to do that?? When I asked why Penzone’s needed to keep my credit card information, I was just given a smirky grin and told that that’s just the way it is. When I spoke to the manager, same thing. No interest whatsoever in explaining why or working to make a customer happy. I told her to just go ahead and cancel the appointment that I had booked and that I would go to Kenneth’s. She just smiled, rolled her eyes and said “OK!” I was a great customer - rarely, if ever, canceled or re-scheduled, was never late, was a great tipper, and can think of only two times in 40 years when I complained. And today Penzone’s let me know how much I was valued. Sad, but there are other salons in town - ones that respect your desire to protect your credit and identity.

While the customer service was lacking yesterday, they truly do make the effort to always provide the best experience and to correct it when they fall short.TL;DR: This place is almost always a solid 5. During my last visit my haircut was still a 5 but my experience was a 2 and they contacted me to see how they could fix it. I still very much recommend it.The haircuts Ive had have all been solid.I had a haircut scheduled for 4:30 that finally started at 5:05. I understand that my stylist had a client added to her schedule at the last minute but a call, text, or notification of any kind that they wouldnt be able to accommodate my 4:30 appointment wouldve been appreciated. I have been assured they will look into something along these lines going forward.When I finally did get into the chair, my stylist assured me that even though she was running behind, she wouldnt rush through my haircut. I asked her if she was confident she could still do a good job, could she please rush through my haircut because I had other appointments to keep. She agreed and knocked my haircut out in 20 minutes and it still looks great!The house bourbon is pretty good. Its mixed with something I think. Its thicker and sweeter than most bourbons Im familiar with, kind of like a port. But it was good and it was only $5 and it took the edge off after a frustrating 35 minutes.
I picked up a gift card for my wifes birthday here. I have not personally had any of their services or products, but my wife is always happy with her experiences with their service, and has always had good things to say about it. Very clean and professional space, from what I have seen. Employees are very customer oriented and friendly.
Darren was recommended for men’s cuts, ive been with him for a few years and he’s great. I enjoy our friendship (he’s a “man’s man”) and does good work. PS. He did a good job on my daughter’s hair as well.
We booked an appointment a month in advanced and made the appointment for a highlight, color and cut which is 2 hours and 15 minutes long. The day comes and we get told by Keirra that she wasn’t able to do what we wanted because “apparently” the system messed up and she only had me down for a haircut. Which I know is not true and we have proof that shows otherwise, and now we had to be rebooked with no discount.
I love this Salon! And I’m very impressed with the lengths they’ve gone through to make things safe after quarantine. I used to see Shane, and my heart is broken to learn she’s no longer there. I knocked off a star for their lack of communication with clients when their stylist leaves, and for pricing. It’s a little pricey compared to other salons in the area that are equally as good, but I continue to go because it’s the cleanest salon and their hours are much better than most.
First time visit today and it was an overall spectacular experience. First of all, open on Sundays….such a nice option for those of us with an insanely busy schedule. But most importantly, Quinn was 100% INCREDIBLE!! She was so professional, knowledgeable and an absolute joy to spend time with on a Sunday afternoon. I will most certainly return and based on the fact I don’t even live in Ohio, that is really saying something - next appointment is scheduled for March and I’ll be bringing my niece and nephew as well. We can’t wait and look forward to it…
I absolutely love my stylist! Not only is she a warm and caring person, she cuts my hair exactly how I like it. I have never found someone who takes the time to listen and truly understands how I like my hair. I love how she takes care of me and my hair She is the BEST!On the negative side, I do not care for the price increases for services and the call center does not always communicate to the salon what services you requested correctly.
The salon itself is very lovely, recently opened so everything is updated and aesthetically pleasing. My problem was more or less with the stylist, she was 20 minutes late to the appointment with no apology for the wait. I only received a wash and cut, but when I got home I realized I had so many split ends still (that I ended up taking care of my self). Not the best cut of my life. Aside from that, she was really friendly and easy to talk to, but I dont want to pay $50+ for good conversation.
Dropped my wife off for her hair appt 10 minutes early then left to run errands. She checked in and waited over 30 minutes until going up and asking how much longer it would be. The manager stated that the hair appointment was cancelled by the stylist due to never recieving a notification that she checked in. The stylist never even bothered to check the lobby to see if my wife was there. Management did nothing to make this right, only offering her another date to come in. I cant believe the disrespect that management had towards my wife, after she spent 3 hours all together coming in for this hair appointment, only to have it cancelled by their scheduling system. After looking at other reviews, this same thing has happened to other women at this salon. Spend your money elsewhere.
Took my mom as a surprise to get her nails done on her day off. She had an amazing experience with Marcella who was on time and did a great job. I had Tammy who was late and started painting my nails before my mom who got in first. My mom asked me after why she didn’t do anything such as massage or scrub and wasn’t sure. I hate complaining because I love to get my hair done here and thought it would be really great and was the exact opposite. Manager proceed to give me half off when I honestly don’t even think it was worth that and should have been taken care of.
For what I paid, and what I actually got, I should have gone to a cheaper salon. I completely regret coming here. My “artist”, Tammy, made me feel like I was inconveniencing her in every way. My appointment started 30 minutes late without anyone letting me know of a delay. I had to ask the front desk what was going on. She made me bleed (twice), and became huffy with me for bleeding. She was texting on her phone during my appointment. Any attempt of small talk quickly ended when she didn’t respond to my answer. Overall had a terrible attitude. I can assure you I did not “waltz out of your salon with a little extra pep in my step and a smile on that beautiful face.” The whole reason I came here is because of the great service I’ve had at the Polaris location in the past for hair appointments. Apparently that kind of service doesn’t extend to the nail area in Dublin.Update: I received a call from Miranda in Guest Services who indicated they had been trying to reach me since I left a review. She was very apologetic, listened to me as I rehashed my experience, and offered to make things right. I appreciate the call (and the ones that didn’t get through) and will return for a “redo”. Beautiful and spacious new salon - greeted professionally by their team and very impressed with the focus on customer service! My two bridesmaids, my mom, and I had Signature Custom Manicures & Pedicures and all liked our artists (Cheriese, Cecilia, Sherry, Bianca, and Marcella). The only disappointment was that my nails were chipping less than 24 hours after the services. For the price paid, I wouldve expected the polish to last longer than one day.
I have been going to Penzone Salon in Dublin for almost 16 years. I’ve been going to my stylist Gisele for the past seven years. She is professional, on time, and does excellent hair. I have been seeing Lana for eyebrow arches for the past 16 years and cannot say enough great things about her. My eyebrows get compliments all the time and I always credit Lana for her ability not to mention her lovely personality. I highly recommend this salon for both the professional services & the incredible atmosphere. The remodel is absolutely state of the art and gorgeous. Highly recommend!
I got a perm done with Jackson and it turned out PERFECT. He was absolutely amazing! I only waited like a minute after I signed in, he introduced himself, shook my hand, and he discussed all the details of what I wanted and how I wanted it to look. He was very kind and made sure I was always comfortable and he really made sure that he was paying attention to me and was very relatable and very easy to talk to. Would HIGHLY recommend this salon and getting your hair done with him!!
Im consistency expecting great results and, while I like the people, Im consistently underwhelmed with the results. When I worked with Katherine, we did dip plus gels. That got super thick. Didnt look good. Pam did a good job and save a finger nail that split, but two of the dipped fingers have flaws. One is lumpy, because she touched it too soon. It probably should have been redone at the time. One time recently, I had to come back because my thumb didnt get a top coat and cure properly for a gel.I often find that I need to come back - with you or other places - because the quality of the work is less than expected. Im not complaining about the gals, just that overall, Im under impressed for what your brand promise is. The only reason I come back again and again is that you are conveniently located.Please appreciate that this is candid feedback, not intended to get anyone in the dog house, but more to see you come up to the level of the salon I can be loyal to. My most recent appointment was my third time at a PENZONE location. The locations are all very sophisticated feel to it. Honestly, slightly overwhelming when you first step in! There are many things going on; including locally made items, different products to purchase, sitting/waiting areas, check in desk, check out, two work stations by the front windows, and at the back is a wine and coffee bar. All the workers are of course beautiful, so when you arrive looking like someone who needs a hair cut, it can be daunting to be surrounded by beautiful people and things. I had my hair done by Hanan and she did a great job. I had her cut about 7 inches off and honestly, I freaked out half way through and she reassured me it was a great decision. I had scheduled online and the quote I was given was $89 for a cut and heat style. I figured a splurge was okay, since I was having such a major cut done. When I went to check out, we found the quote was incorrect and I only owed $50 for Hanan! There is a wall on your way out with a ring light and a wall with their logo, for fresh hair selfies. I am very happy with my hair and excited for my next appointment!
Zoey Pearson is AMAZING! I have naturally curly hair and have always struggled finding the right hairstyle/cut. I absolutely love my cut and color! She is an expert and helped me learn so much about curl care. Great salon and the most attentive and kind staff.
I booked my Signature Custom facial online. There were two professionals to choose from for the date and time I selected. I blindly made my choice which turned out to be perfect. Sophia intuitively knew I needed to relax. She kept our conversation to a minimum, the facial and massages were just delightful, and the warm atmosphere/music/dimmed lighting set the tone for a desperately needed break from my hectic schedule. I would absolutely recommend scheduling with Sophia whenever she is available.
The customer service that I have experienced is absolutely phenomenal! Though my hair didnt initially turn out as I was hoping, everyone that I have dealt with in this process has been exceptionally nice. I had my hair appointment with Hayleigh and she was fantastic, but my hair just didnt turn out as I was hoping for. I posted a review concerning my disappointment and about a week later I was contacted to schedule a new appointment so that I can have my hair fixed the way that I was hoping. I know that mistakes happen, so I appreciate the lengths that they are going to to ensure my happiness. Definitely would recommend the company to anyone!!
My husband got me a nice gift card for Mother’s Day and I decided I wanted to take my mom for a spa day to thank her for watching my daughter so much while I worked. So I called to book a day of appointments, “an experience” they call it. We both did a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. I’d never been, but it just wasn’t the relaxing spa atmosphere I was hoping for spending about $700 for the two of us. On top of that, my facial was nowhere near worth the money. I’ve had a couple facials before and there was hardly any time that they weren’t doing something, either applying something to my face or giving me a massage. I had Sunny and she was 20 minutes late and then applied something (she also never said what she was applying which I’ve normally had during a facial) and then let me “relax” for about 20 minutes. Later she only massaged my neck and shoulders for about two minutes. During another layer, she just sat there on her phone. She also made some rude comments about needing waxing and that I had a ton of blackheads. My mom said her facial was nothing like that. Her lady was very thorough and nice. I was also disappointed in my pedicure because I wanted the deluxe one that advertised hot stones but those were never used. I also have a weird bubble in the polish on my toe that I saw her trying to fix, but it didn’t. My mom had fun, but I just feel sick from spending all that money to be disappointed.
The blonde highlights left sections of my hair so fried that it’s completely breaking off. I called to let the salon know what happened and they had me come in for what they said would be a free color consultation. It was not free. I had to pay $25 to be told to buy one of their products that might fix my hair. I’ve been using the expensive product and it has not helped my hair at all. Basically, I’ve spent a total of $250 to completely ruin my hair two months before my wedding. I would have been better off not ever going to penzone.
I went for my birthday with my mother and mother in law. My mother in law and I both got red nail polish that stained our nails and my mothers fell chipped within one day. The refused to compensate us even after we sent pictures. All was so crowded and felt like the tech just wanted to get the appointment over with as quickly as possible. Feel so rushed and I relaxed. The most I have ever spent on my nails for the worst experience. Will never be going back.
Amazing experience! The deep tissue massage with Leanne was super relaxing and she was very attentive to my needs. My facial with Abby was also great; she was awesome at educating me on skincare and I left feeling like I had a new face! I will definitely be back!
The entire staff was extremely accommodating for both of my young daughters. Randi did amazing with my youngest. My daughter told me she felt like a queen after she was done. Leslie helped me get my disabled daughters haircut. She was extremely gentle, very patient and did an amazing job. I couldnt be more impressed and satisfied with their entire staff and I hope Leslie and Randi know how happy they made not only me as their father but my children as well.
This salon used to be a class but now its the worst in Dublin area. They will let you book an appointment which is pretty hard to find and then a day prior or the same day of your appointment, you will get a call or text that they have canceled the appointment. It’s happening for last 3 times in a row. When you call them and ask the reason, they don’t tell you anything and will just tell you that they don’t have a slot to accommodate you and will suggest you to wait for 3-4 weeks ( because there are no appointments. Lol)We ( me and my wife) used to go there for all sort of salon needs and now really have moved on and started going to other salon. This is pathetic and I don’t suggest anyone going to this salon to waste their time and really spend money and get zero value. They are really bad at recognizing regular customers and providing them any service on time.
I had a wonderful experience. I missed the time of my appointment and they got me in quickly anyway. Marianne did my hair and was so professional and nice to talk to! I also got my eyebrows done by Carly who made it quick and painless. Very much looking forward to come back!
I was really disappointed with my stylist at Penzone Dublin. She said she could blow dry and style my hair like the pictures I showed her. Each time I asked her if she could do what I asked, she said “No problem “. She did not come close. I left with a “”do” I hated and will not trust them again.
My first visit to Penzones was really great! My stylist, GiGi, was the friendliest, sweetest and very talented!! She even took me on a tour of the facility, so I could see all that they have to offer. My cut and color were amazing! The coffee bar was really good, too.The only negatives were that it was rather crowded and noisy in the salon area. There seemed to be too many assistants. Someone to hand the stylist foils. Really? And there was a woman in our area who seemed to be possibly a manager of some sort...when we made eye contact, she just glared at me/didnt smile...made me feel awkward. She definitely didnt seem very friendly.It was a very busy, hustle and bustle atmosphere...if you prefer quiet/relaxing... youll have to book the private booths (which h probably cost a lot more).4 stars!
I had the Microblading procedure the other day with Sophia. I had hardly any eyebrows before, from over plucking them when I was younger. I was nervous that they would end up looking really fake and dramatic. But I absolutely love them!! She did an amazing job, and I’ve received so many compliments. I already feel more confident and can’t wait to see what they will look like after my 6 week touch up!
This salon is absolutely beautiful inside I love the decor. I have had my hair done by Mallory a few times now and I love the way she cuts my long hair! I made an appointment to get a manicure. My appointment was at 1 and the nail tech didn’t get me back until 1:40. She was chewing some food when she finally came to get me and said sorry I was eating lunch. The service itself was great, I just didn’t like waiting that long. Although, I will continue to come here to get my hair done by Mallory!!!
New facility is quite amazing but all credit belongs to stylists. Erin has been coloring and cutting my hair for around 10 years and shes is very talented. Sometimes, after using the same person for that long, it can feel like they might not be listening anymore but I have never experienced that with Erin. Lana does my brows and she is a delight. I always learn new things about the world listening to her insight. Great way to pass the time.
I tried 3 times to reach someone by phone to ask questions and schedule with appropriate person. Never could. On hold forever.Scheduled online having never been there before.Had email that the stylist I chose would not be there and changed to a second stylist.When I arrived, the schedule had changed to a 3rd.stylist.Although stylist was pleasant, she did not do a good job washing or styling my hair.They did give me a discount because they had changed my schedule. That was nice of them.
I got a grand deep tissue massage on 02/18/19 from Beth and it was spectacular. She really knew what she was doing and was attentive to my trouble areas. I felt amazingly relaxed after the massage. I also had a facial with Sophia. She did a wonderful job and knew what she was doing. My face feels refreshed.
Daphne did the best job on my hair! I hadn’t had it done in a while, but she made it healthy, shiny, and full of life again! Gave me the confidence I needed for my interview the next day! Thank you so much!!!! I felt amazing leaving that salon and still do!!!
This is my favorite spa in Columbus! On Saturday I had the BEST facial Ive ever had... and a fantastic deep tissue massage. Their employees listen to their clients and tailor the experience based off of need. Ive been a client of PENZONE for 20 years and Ive never had a bad experience!
Yesterday was my first visit to the new building for a haircut and style. The salon is well designed, comfortable and chic with lots of parking. And it has a good vibe. I loved the dark, soothing shampoo room. Calgon take me away....... My haircut is OK, but I dont care for the way it was styled or the products used. Im planning to return because I liked the stylist -- very personable -- and I believe she has the ability to do my hair the way I like it if I let her know what I didnt like about this style.
I really wanted to give 5 stars, so much so that I decided to wait a couple weeks until after my wedding, in case my feelings were reactionary. I had my hair and makeup done for my wedding and though the makeup was fine, I was disappointed with my hair. I live in North Carolina and took time off work and drove to Ohio to get a trial, to make sure I wanted to go with Penzone. The trial went great and I loved my hair. However, on my wedding day, my hair was nothing like the trial. The stylist asked if I had pictures from the trial but, I did not. She said she had pics from my trial on her from phone (which I would expect a professional stylist to have) and yet my hair still looked nothing like it did at my hair trial apt. I did notice this but we were running so short on time I decided to let that go because I didnt really have a choice. Its not even that it looked nothing like what I asked for, the more pics I get from wedding guests the more I want to cry. You can see noticeable amounts of hairs falling down to my shoulders and its not a flattering messy romantic look either. It just looked awful. The ladies were perfectly nice and polite but I paid a good amount so that my hair would look great, and now Im scared to see my hair in any more pics from the wedding.
This was my first time at a Penzone, I went for a perm and cut. The experience was really cool all around from the beautifully elegant design that didn’t try too hard to copy off overdone styles to the bar serving coffee, wine, and a couple cocktails.Now for the part that matters most: Amanda did my hair and I have to say, I have never been so genuinely happy when turning and seeing my hair done in the mirror! Typically a haircut will be decent but not quite what I pictured in my head. This was actually better than I had come in expecting!As far as the experience goes, Amanda greeted me very friendly and was cool to talk with. I could tell she is truly passionate about what she does, that makes such a difference!Thanks Amanda for doing such an amazing job with my hair! I feel like a new man!I will be back to this Penzone for sure.
The new location looks great! The staff was very accommodating for a last minute appointment with a baby in tow. They were able to watch him while I had my eyebrows threaded by Sunny. However, I dont know if they told to hurry with my appointment or Sunny felt like she needed to rush while my son was being watched, my eyebrow appointment took 6 minutes (she told me). I dont think she did as great a job as she has done before. She didnt even offer a mirror for me to look at them. Also, I was left with 3-4 cuts that scabbed over under my left eyebrow. Ive been to one other threading location in NC for 2.5 years and Sunny is the only one who has snapped a thread during a session and multiple times in one session. Others Ive been to have not done that and havent cut me during a session. I think its time I find a new person. Despite the experience, Penzones new salon and image makeover looks great!
I wanted to treat myself with a mini Mom getaway for a facial. Harley was my esthetician today, and she was FANTASTIC! She was incredibly knowledgeable, explained the products and applications in great detail, friendly, and had an amazing touch! I will definitely be back to see her in the future. Jade was super sweet and helpful. She was honest with sharing her professional opinion on what was best for my hair - which I appreciated so much. I am extremely happy with the service she provided and with how my hair turned out. Highly recommend this establishment and especially this stylist.
Made an appointment for a Gel Manicure and Pedicure and was extremely shocked by the price of those treatments. Both treatments were extremely basic the girl did not even trim my nails she just simply filed them and added some oil to my cuticles that plus a drink was $160!! I am just hoping this gel stays on for my vacation! Thank god I had a gift card for these services. Besides that the nail tech was extremely nice but for $160 much more should have been offered I will not be returning.
Chelse is the single worst hair dresser. Rude and entitled. When to get my hair cut with highlights, she explained that she couldnt do it. I asked why and she said she couldnt, no reason. I was confused and explained that I was leaving for an event and needed to get it done soon and she said that she wont do it now or ever. She said that my hair was too difficult to work with. I have wavy hair that is semi thick and she made me feel so degraded because of it. My roots where a bit grown out and she told me it looks horrible when the appointment started. She is rude, unprofessional, horrible to work with and deserves to be fired. I can not explain how horrible the experience was. Also every other spring in the store is rude. Charles Penzones is the worst place to get hair done. I have went to Kenneths before and it is so amazing and the people are kind I feel excepted there but the second I walked in to Penzones I felt judged. DO NOT GO TO PENZONES!!!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH CHELSE!!!!!
The new salon is very cool. Love the lounge area with the bar. Emerson is fantastic! I love my haircut, highlight and style. I will definitely be back! Just being picky but the only improvement would be upkeep. I’m surprised to say, since the place is pretty new, I noticed a door that looked like it was hanging off a hinge in the area I was getting my haircut, as well as a hole in the smock that another customer was wearing.
This was my first time at a Penzone Salon and I could not have been more pleased. The salon was beautiful and relaxing. Even though it was busy at the time of my appointment it never felt crowded or uncomfortable. Blair was my stylist and she was outstanding! She listened and gave me exactly what I asked for. She made sure I was comfortable and satisfied throughout the appointment. I would absolutely recommend Blair and Penzone Salons!
The salon is very pretty and everyone is nice, but it is very overpriced. I got my acrylics removed and it said it came with a manicure, but she didn’t paint my nails. She said they needed to breathe which I’ve never heard before. It also took a very long time to remove the acrylics because she did not use a drill or anything. Maybe they just don’t use those there? Anyway $66 to only remove my acrylic nails was way too much especially since she couldn’t get all of the acrylic off.
Berkley is my new favorite person, I might love her more than my husband. She took my very grown out balayage and brought me back to my original dark color and it was flawless! She listened to what I had to say and gave it the trim it desperately needed. Ladies or gents, do not hesitate and book her today!
Great cut/color at a great price. Love my new stylist-very patient, helpful and loves to educate. At Penzone, I find better quality, pricing, and aesthetics than my previous big name salon.Product costs are a little on the high side.Waxing at the beauty bar was acceptable and priced well. This time, I had a private, seasoned aesthician who was a bit pushy with services. I asked about a concealer they may carry and was told to book a separate appointment for consultation.
The new salon is really amazing! They have a coffee and wine bar that also has some pre made food items where you can sit as your color processes. They also have 2 really nice patios outside. I didn’t get to take advantage because it was so cold but I plan to when it warms up. I saw Marty and she did a beautiful job! She was fast and friendly and my hair looks gorgeous. Only negative was the price! Ouch!
Had color and highlights done with Emerson, who has done my hair in the past. I absolutely love her and LOVE my hair. I believe you get what you pay for. A salon may be a bit more pricey, but the experience and quality you receive is above and beyond and definitely worth it!

Not only does she do an AMAZING job on my hair, shes knowledgeable, has made my hair a million times healthier, and has one of the best personalities!! Not the “spa experience” I expected but it was nice. Spent a little over $300 today and would’ve like the white robe and champagne like Woodhouse gives. Feels more like a beauty shop than a spa. Facial from Sunny was amazing. Mani, and pedi were nice and massage was just okay.
I Absolutely love Sophia. I have always been overly caution and picky when it comes to my brows, and was in desperate need for a new person after mine retired, and she didnt disappoint. She rocks when it comes to shaping my brows, and if theres anything I feel I need changed, which is rarely ever, she goes out of her way to exceed expectations! She actually does a better job than the other person, and that speaks volumes! Ive also started doing facial services with her and she is amazing all around. She makes sure you are comfortable and always will exceed expectations, and only suggests products based on your needs, and never oversells! Shes also done my makeup for a photo shoot in the past and does an amazing job! I highly recommend Sophia to anyone looking for someone for their beauty needs.
I had been a loyal customer of Penzone for 2+ years. During that time I noticed that my hair was becoming increasingly dry and frizzy. For reference I am a blonde (have been for the last 11 years) and I have never had this issue before.When I started voicing my concerns, I was sold numerous treatment options by my stylist (a senior director). These options included a hair mask that was applied during my appointment, shampoo and conditioner as well as a ‘damage’ leave-in conditioner. Unfortunately, all these did was cost me more money and my hair continued to worsen.A few months ago my hair got to the point where it was breaking at alarming rates. One swipe with my hairbrush and it was instantly full with dead hair.The best decision I made was switching to a new salon. I then learned that when applying bleach, you should NEVER be placed under a hair dryer while processing and the bleach should not be pulled through to the ends. Both of these techniques happened to me MULTIPLE times at Penzone and I had no idea that it was literally causing my hair to dry out and break off.I post this as a warning that if you ever have a stylist conduct either of these techniques to be aware that it is not safe. I am currently paying the price and I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
Just visited Mallory for a haircut and I had such a great experience! Mallory was awesome, so nice, and made me feel so comfortable. I love my hair- she did an amazing job! The location was clean, beautiful, and very open and light. I would definitely recommend Mallory!In regards to COVID precautions- all staff and clients were wearing masks, barriers were in place between stations, and I felt there was plenty of distance between myself and others. They were cleaning all surfaces regularly.
I loved the overall service and cut. However I wanted my hair colored and I received highlights in which I and everyone else has failed to notice the difference. I spent a lot more money to have my hair colored as my gift for my first adult job and it’s disappointing that you can’t see a difference. This was my first time here and may be my only time because of this. The hair cut was truly fantastic though, so three stars.

Worst , ridiculous and poor service .I have booked appointment a week before and they confirmed the appointment but they sent the cancelled message 4 hrs before the appointment and I called them for another appointment and they asked me to come by some other time( they specified the time ) and I went there by traveling 45 mins...and she said we can’t do it today please book some other day.We have a party tmrw all my plans got spoiled and they don’t even bother to give an explanation. They should have informed me before and their is not appropriate.Very poor service…I strongly don’t recommend them to any one …
I have been coming to PENZONE for about 2 years now and have never gave it a review. I decided to because I feel PENZONE deserves more than 5 stars. I absolutely love the new salon in Dublin. And my stylist Lauren is the absolute best. She has the best personality, she is sweet and bubbly and very easy to talk to. She has done a outstanding job on my hair. I am a natural brunette and now I am completely blonde. She has keep my hair healthy in the process and has never disappointed me with the outcome. I am always so happy with the way my hair turns out. I will never go anywhere else. Thank you PENZONE and thank you to my stylist Lauren.
This was the third appointment I had with the same stylist. I liked the way she cut my hair but I wont have another appointment with her. I had a cut, color and highlights. I sat over an hour with the color treatment on. The appointment took over 2 hours and 50 minutes total. I was sitting and waiting most of that time. She said she had to recut another customer--so she let me sit and wait for that. I had to cancel somethings I had planned because of this. It was very frustrating to be there so long.
I’ve now had my hair TRANSFORMED by Penzone Salon’s Daphne. I haven’t had compliments in several years on my hair. It had always been full, bouncy and vibrant and I was resigned to my hair “aging”. However, since going to Daphne, I’ve noticed that my hair is back to looking healthy and vibrant! I’ve had people, out of no where, ask me what I’ve done:)) I really can’t say enough about what she’s done to correct and transform my hair!!! The place is fabulous, too! I can’t wait to try the other services!
Update:Penzone contacted me right away and had us come in for a new set of nails. An emergency came up and I had to cancel our appointments but the staff worked with me and made sure we were happy. I truly appreciate the amazing customer service we received! I DEFINITELY recommend Penzone Salon and am looking forward to trying their other services!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The visit was great. The area was clean and nice, staff was welcoming and professional. Its the quality that I have major issues with. I paid $180 for nails 5 days agofago my 15 year old daughter and I. She has 3 that have fell off. Mine are missed shaped and uneven and several are ready to fall off. I will never recommend anyone to pay that much money for nails that wont stay on longer than a press-on. Im extremely disappointed as is my daughter.
Great space and great stylists. If you go to the Dublin location, book with Andy. Cuts my hair, my two teenage boys and my 20 yr old daughter. Just that group of client are tough to please.
Kennedy did my hair at the salon in Dublin. She did a wonderful job!! The color I wanted was kind of hard to achieve but she worked really hard and didnt stop till my hair was the color I wanted!! I would highly recommend this place!! They always do a great job on my hair, nails or whatever Im there for!!
Sloan does an AMAZING job! My first experience at Penzone Dublin was with another stylist and I wasn’t thrilled with the results. I went back to get it redone and Sloan did her best to correct my hair so it was closer to what I wanted. I just went back again this past week and Sloan gave me an amazing balayage. I had box color in my hair from months ago, so the fact that she was able to transform my hair to what it is now is remarkable. I highly recommend Sloan at Dublin Penzone if you are looking for a great cut and color!
I’m very unhappy with the service I received here at Penzones. The stylist and I agreed on a light beige-brown color for my hair and I left with red hair that was so dark it looked black. In all honesty, it would have looked better if it was black; it looked absolutely HORRIBLE red and it was not what I wanted at all. I’m not someone to complain about a service, but after crying over my hair for 2 days I messaged the stylist. I told her it was darker than I expected and if there was anything I could do to help lighten it (I was hoping she would offer to fix it bc as I said, I’m not one to complain EVER and I was trying to be nice). She messaged me back and said “I’m sorry you hate it:(“. She did not offer to fix it and actually ended up BLOCKING me on Instagram where I messaged her. I am still not sure what I did or said that caused this. I didn’t say anything or complain, in fact, I tipped 20% and went and cried in my car immediately after. I did everything to remedy the situation myself because I didn’t want to bother her or anyone else. I tried to give it time to let it grow on me, tried to fix it myself, I even tried to lighten it myself with bleach. When that didn’t work I went to go message her again to politely ask if she could fix it. However, I realized she had blocked me. After I realized I was blocked, I decided to call and voice my frustration. I have called 3 times and been placed on hold for several minutes each time and all for the call to go no where. I am shocked by the lack of customer service since this is Charles Penzones. I would save your money and go somewhere else. Or at least a place with better customer service. Because if you leave unhappy, it doesn’t matter.
As someone who has visited day spas throughout the country and, a few outside of the country, Im truly shocked Penzone has the lack of consideration to advertise this as a spa. This is a high end hair salon that offers services you would find on a spa menu. Upon entering, you are greeted by someone calling for you to check in through a kiosk and, blaring rap music in the lobby. There is nothing day spa like about the experience. It is more relaxing to hang out at an airport. The massage and, pedicure were fine. Nothing great but, nothing to complain about. These services are not cheap. If you are looking for a true day spa experience, you will be disappointed. Their hair services may well be fantastic. I cant comment on that as my family and, I were there for what we were told would be a true day spa experience. Scrolling through the reviews, I am not the only to have had such an experience. From now on, I will be checking reviews before spending so much money on a rare treat.
Kendra did am amazing makeover for me. I have very white hair and have been struggling with the decision to change up my look. Kendra encouraged me to keep my natural color but cut my hair shorter. Since my new styling, I have been getting many comments about how much younger I look. The BEST result ever! Penzone’s new salon is beautiful and the designers are professional, well-trained and TALENTED.
Penzone is great! I see Lauren for my hair, and she is beyond amazing! I came to her after another salon experience elsewhere left my hair really dark and damaged. Lauren was fabulous at coming up with a plan to help lighten my hair but still be able to keep it healthy. I could not be more happy with the results that we are getting! Everyone at the salon I encounter are always very nice, and the employees all seem to really love their jobs! I can’t wait to see how the new salon looks when I’m in next. I have always left Penzone feeling fresh and fabulous! Thank you for having a skilled staff (like Lauren) that work very hard to keep their clients looking and feeling great!!!
Joy always does an amazing job with my custom facial and eyebrow arch. My entire face looks fresh and amazing when I leave. She also took the time to recommend products (my request) to keep my skin in the best shape for a woman 50+. Very pleased and Ive had her maintain my face for the past decade.
I had scheduled here about three weeks in advance to get makeup done for engagement pictures. They called to cancel less than an hour before my appointment! The only reason I am giving two stars is because they found an appointment for me at a different location. However this location was twice as far away and the appointment was earlier than the original, meaning I needed to leave my house right after their phone call to make there 5 min late. It just ended up being a chaotic and stressful day for engagement pictures because the lack of communication. But thanks to Penzone Gahanna for saving the day!

All this while my fiancé was providing constant feedback and pointers. It’s been a year, my wife and I still discuss the unfortunate movement. Thank god she had friends who re did her hair moments ahead of our life event.
I love this location. Everyone is always really friendly. I have seen multiple stylists, and everyone has done amazing. I also bring my 12 year old and my 6 year old here to have their hair cut because I know I can trust that it will come out perfect every time!
Wonderful experience! Got my eyebrows done with Harley and she was fast and efficient. Usually I have redness for a few days but not this time. She was so good that it minimized how many times she needed to swipe me. I thwn got my hair done with Josh. He kmows his stuff. I bleached my own hair a few times and didnt get the results I wanted. Josh quickly came up with a game plan and flawlessly executed it!!!! He is definitely the bomb!
Tried Penzones again after a horrible experience a few years ago. Had an eyebrow wax and tint done on 1/15/20. Was completely impressed by the new building(as I said, its been awhile). I love the sleek, modern look! They offer complimentary water and coffee, and they also have a mini coffee bar in the rear of the waiting area. You can enjoy an espresso or a chai latte, even a glass of wine 😉. It is a very clean, inviting and relaxing atmosphere. Moving on... Im not going to include the persons name, but I was completely dissatisfied with my eyebrows when I got home. I feel like maybe she didnt understand what I wanted, but my eyebrows ended up with no arch, instead a rounded off shape, more like a rainbow. Ive been working on perfecting my arches for a few months, and I almost cried. I have been using another place for the last year and I love their work, but my esthetician was booked and I HAD to get my brows done. I paid almost 50% more than what I normally would at most places. This was only a level 1 esthetician and I cannot fathom ever paying that price again, let alone more for a more skilled individual. I basically have to start my eyebrows over again 😥. The woman was SUPER nice, Im just not happy with the outcome. I most likely will not be returning to or recommending this salon. With the experience I had years ago, and the money I spent(upwards of $700 with all the tips, and it was for 2 people), and this experience combined, I just cant....Edit: Miranda from the salon reached out to me today and was wonderful. Handled the situation in a professional manner and was also very friendly. She resolved the situation quickly and efficiently. Will probably give them another go simply based on Mirandas customer service. 😊😊👍
If ZERO stars were an option, that is what I would choose!To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. Maybe my expectations were too high but considering this is supposed to be a premier spa and hair salon...I would consider my experience to be a Great Clips experience! I just had color my first visit and in less than 2 weeks the color had faded, showing all my grey. I informed the stylist on my next appointment and she tried their only other line of color. This one burned my scalp the entire time it was on AND since the stylist leaves you in another room...she never checks on you...it felt like my head was on fire for almost an hour! After washing out the color, it itched horribly. The stylist apologized and said that was the last color option. Then she proceeded to cut my hair. I explained how my previous stylist usually cut it. I was appalled at her cutting skills. She spent less than 5 minutes cutting my hair. I HAD a finely layered long cut...she hacked over an inch off the length then skimmed the front around my face...and took about 3 cuts out of the top. It was a major hack job....so shocked that I didnt even know what to say to her! I am not even sure why I left a tip...as I will NEVER go back there again! I cannot believe that an establishment that gives off this much pretense is just a great clips in disguise! Disappointing doesnt even cover it.
This had been the second time that I have ever been there. The first time was amazing before they had the building remodeled. But this most recent time that I have gone was not very good at all. The “professional” that was taken care of me did a pretty bad job. Not a bad person at all and not bad with customer service but my hair was awful! I have naturally beautiful long curly hair and went in for highlights, trim and style. Highlights are pretty good but my hair is completely super dry than ever before, and I told him about how this was for a very important day and it looks terrible. When I pay a certain amount of money I should be walking out feeling amazing. But I didn’t feel that way at all. By the time I arrived to my house all the curls were coming out. Now granted if was probably humid a little too but he didn’t put enough product in my hair at all. I have curly hair and if he didn’t know how to work with curls then he shouldn’t have done my hair. Great person, great customer service, just very disappointed how my hair turned out for a big job event that I had that night. I asked him how should I have it for a fancy party and he did some basic quick curls because of per laziness instead of trying to be fun and creative. When I first came to Penzone I had an amazing experience but this most recent time was not so good. If I wanted a disappointed job I could’ve went anywhere else and saved a lot more money. Sorry just bummed out because didn’t look not feel like a rockstar that I had planned on for a month for a big party

I Love Love Love the new place. LOTS of natural light, and the design and minimalist colors are both refreshing and calming. Great job! Also, the service from EVERY person I encountered was genuinely friendly and upbeat, from checking in, to purchase bar to check out. And of course, the FABULOUS Kori who has been in charge of my hair for 10+ years, was again, perfect. Oh and I LOVED the pick up lunch on my way out, the vegan roll and quinoa salad was amazing. I will schedule my next appointment after work instead of before so I can sip a cocktail during my visit! Nice touch! A++++ Upgrade Penzones!

I’ve been going to Penzone’s Dublin for almost 7 years. I’ve experienced a variety of services (pedicures, eye brow arches and make-up), but my favorite is seeing my hair designer Darren. For the last 7 years no one else has touched my hair! He is just the best... a great listener and makes my hair look fabulous every time. I couldn’t ask for better! 💜
Yesterday was my first visit to Penzone Dublin and I couldnt be more pleased! The salon was very nice, clean and had everything I could need from personable staff to products to a bar and snacks! Shane did a fabulous job with my hair giving me exactly what I was looking for in color and cut - so happy to have found a stylist who understood me in the first 5 minutes! Thanks Shane! Kendra was fantastic! This was my first time to her and I was trying to recover from a not-so-fab color and cut (not from Penzones!). She was in a tough spot and did a lovely job. I love it! She has a delightful and easygoing personality. I look forward to seeing her again.

Enzo transformed my hair from faded and grown out to beautiful and healthy. i wanted a complete transformation and he delivered! it could not have been done without Enzo, he was so helpful and explained every step we’d take to get me the hair i deserved. the experience was so comfortable and he listened to everything i wanted. also, i love the products he recommended and showed me exactly how to use them.
Horrible management and customer service. Theyll randomly cancel appointments and not try to provide solutions for customers as any decent management would do.
The new place is quite snazzy. However, the seating in the waiting areas is extremely uncomfortable for anyone under 6 feet tall. This was also an issue in the old building. I was hoping theyd offer more comfortable seating in the new place, but that doesnt seem to be the case.Also, not sure why their nail techs arent capable of providing all services. We wanted to change our service from gel nails to acrylics, but the ONLY person who could do them was booked and our tech wasnt trained or certified to do them. This seemed weird at a place that prides itself on having the best.We found the same to be true when scheduling a thermal. Only certain stylists were able to do them. This made it difficult to schedule a spa day.
I have tried a few other salons, but always come back to Penzone. I love being able to schedule online and view all of the open time slots for a whole week. The salon is modern, clean, and relaxing. My experience is always positive and my hair always looks great afterwards. Check out Jade at the Dublin location if you want great conversation and great hair ☺️
Excellent service by Jason. Always a wonderful experience with Jason and his supporting staff!! Everything in the salon is super efficient except for the checkout process. On a busy Saturday morning there was one person checking out guests. There were at least 10 people in line waiting to checkout before a 2nd person finally came to assist and helped ease the checkout process. A frustrating way to leave the salon after enjoying a great service.
While my beauty bar service was great I’m disappointed in the customer service and misleading information on the website. I was traveling from out of town and had come across this salon so figured I’d pamper myself while in town. In two different places on their website it states eyebrow arch is $15, eyebrow tint $20, and eyelash tint $20. When I cash out at the register I was told my total is $88! I was surprised but didn’t have their website pulled up at the moment so paid and went out to my car. My receipt says the services were actually $21, $26, and $35 respectively. Whoa! Quite a difference than what was shown online! I proceeded to try to contact the one phone number provided on their website for all locations and got a message that guest services is closed (Saturday afternoon). Proceeded to call the next day and same message. When I finally get through on Monday I was on hold waiting for quite a while to discuss this before I finally hung up and decided I guess my only other option is a google review. I can’t believe I can’t even call the salon I just walked out of after my service! I won’t be going back as I now can’t trust their pricing will be what is advertised on their site.
Georgia in Dublin does my nails every couple of weeks and I love her. She knows the colors that I like and suggests new colors based on those I like. She is careful to get the shape right. My nails look great when she is finished! Georgia is also very friendly and conversation is easy.
First visit to the new location for a haircut with Hayleigh. She did a good job but I did not like the new salon at all. Although I was greeted and offered a choice of beverages, it felt chaotic and impersonal. The high ceilings and hard surfaces result in a great deal of loud background noise. Hopefully the spa area is more warm and relaxing.
I had another fantastic experience at the Dublin location yesterday. Madeline is fantastic. She is friendly, and thorough- I have been very satisfied with every haircut I gotten from her. Very highly recommended! Thanks! See you again soon.
I went in for a new look, I loved the color. I asked my technician 6 different times how to fix my new style with a soft curl ....She explained what to do, but I wished she would have shown me how to do it. For the money that was paid I dont think that is unreasonable.
I went to Sophia for a makeup session for a photo shoot on Thursday, 5/27. I know she’s done Debbie Penzone’s make up so I was excited. Unfortunately, Sophia clearly could not have cared less—barely speaking to me, putting on make up that was wayy too dark for me (see the pic of her work and my face without makeup), and not doing any of the things I requested. I was really disappointing. I couldn’t reschedule the shoot, and I’m still embarrassed every time I look at those pictures because I can’t stop looking at my orange umpalumpa face.Adding insult to injury, I called customer service multiple times. I received a phone call saying that they got my message and would get back to me. They never did. I tried calling a few more times, and I never heard from anyone.I wouldn’t recommend this location or using Sophia’s services.
Absolutely love Kendra for my super curly, difficult hair. She’s the best! My daughters love her too! She’s great for cuts, color, highlights, bayalage, and extensions and really great to talk to too!
New salon in Dublin is beautiful! There is a great array of products and you can try them before buy. Athena did a wonderful job with my facial. My skin looked and felt great! I highly recommend Athena for facials, peels, waxing and makeup.
I love my designer, but dont find that the new facility is comfortable. For the amount of money spent, there is no privacy anywhere, the surfaces are sterile (conference room like) and sound bounces off everywhere. From the outside, I expected a soothing, spa, Zen experience. This facility does not deliver that. The first time I had service, it felt more like a doctors clinic moving you from procedure to procedure. I gave it a three only because I love my hairdresser. I was disappointed in the experience due to the design of the building as it relates to the process and protocol for a beauty service.
EDIT**** A day after I made my original review someone called me and I agreed to go in and let someone else fix my hair her name is Gigi and she was amazing and wasnt afraid to cut my hair how I asked for! So Ive changed from 2 stars to 5 stars because they made it right and I love my haircut now!!**********I made a appointment and it was easy and then I get there and it was so nice and the people there were so nice! The lady who cut my hair Madelinewas so sweet! The problem is that she didnt listen at all to what I wanted and cut my hair the way she wanted to even though I explained it and showed her multiple pictures and when I kept telling her it was not what I wanted and she still didnt listen and even said my hair wouldnt work like that even though Ive had that cut for 7 years so I gave up on telling her and she said o it looks just like the picture and it looks nothing like the picture so I paid $40 for a cut I could have gotten for $6 at great clips I only gave 2 stars because she was sweet but she needs to learn to do what her customer wants not what she thinks is better!! Rhonda was amazing!!!! I had to schedule a 90 minute deep tissue massage because Ive been working from home for months and Ive been in excruciating pain. She worked out almost 13 knots and really did her best. Plus she just listened to me rant about my fault troubles 😂 sorry Rhonda! She, and everyone there, are true professionals and just genuinely good people. I also just found out you can use your HSA to pay for services such as this so if you dont have the funds, that might be an option. Thanks for the great service!
I will have to say that I LOVE Charles Penzone salons. I am giving my past 2 visits (within the same week) 3 stars because there are some big ticket-items that I think can be improved upon. The new Dublin location is on-point. Chic, vibrant, state-of-the-art, with phenomenal staff. I had Hanan and she was SO nice and so professional/caring! Mr. & Mrs. Penzone were also there, since it was a Grand Opening, introducing themselves and were so friendly. The fact that they have a coffee bar and wine/champagne bar is beyond awesome! There is a patio in which you can go outside to wait for your color to set, which was so nice to have, compared to just sitting in a chair, waiting.My issues are these: after my first visit that was supposed to be full highlights and a cut, I had to leave after my highlighting session due to a death in the family. Hanan told me to tell the front desk that I only had my highlights and that we needed to reschedule the cut. The front desk staff said no problem.First, I got overcharged for my coffee. I had to tell them that my coffee that I actually got was a dollar cheaper than what they were charging me for. They corrected this (after I caught it) and I signed and went on my way (with lots of other things on my mind at that time). Second, I also realized later that night that they had charged me for the full price of highlights and a cut. I called the next day and explained the situation, about how I got charged for services I didnt receive and they credited my account.Third, thankfully, I had to go back to get my cut because my highlights, which I pretty subtle, yet noticeable with some dimension for my wedding in a month, were very prominent and VERY yellow. My dark hair went from no highlights to a full head of yellow. It didnt look good or flattering at all. My BIG issue is that I rushed to get to my 12:15 appointment due to having been stuck in construction traffic. I was 5 minutes late. Turns out, I didnt need to rush. My 12:15 appointment turned into me getting taken back to the styling chair at 1:03pm. I took a screenshot of the time it was when I got called back. So, I sat waiting for at least 45 minutes. I was getting beyond angry. As a soon-to-be-bride, I had other wedding vendor appointments for later that day that I had to cancel due to the timing.Finally, after my appointment, my issue is that my stylist toned them, but now, they are almost non-existent, but the color is beautiful! Just frustrating that I paid for highlights to add dimension to my bridal hairstyle, but now you can barely see anything. Id rather have nothing than yellow hair for my wedding though. I do have to say that my cut is GORGEOUS and one of my favorite haircuts Ive ever had.
Heather was AMAZING. She knew exactly what to do with my hair. My stylist retired after 10 years and I was very hesitant finding a new hair dresser, but Heather met and exceeded my expectations! It was like I had known her my whole life. Great place, amazing hair stylist.
The salon should consider hiring hair stylists that are actually adept at styling textured hair. This has been the worst money spent! I dont like to knock down businesses, but the service here was absolutely terrible. I left a lengthier review last time, but decided to edit and get straight to the point. I wanted to go lighter (from caramel blonde balayage to blonder highlights- i showed a picture). Im reasonable. I know I may not get the exact color. However, I didnt think this would be impossible since my hair was already light. The FIRST person who colored my hair messed up badly. I learned she had just graduated from beauty school. Penzone, if you have someone who isnt quite experienced, maybe dont assign certain duties without supervision for a little bit so they dont.. you know.. mess up clients hair?I ended with a grey-ish grandma looking color and i dont even know how we ended up there. Im very grateful and thankful for the 2nd gentleman that fixed it as well as for penzone agreeing to fix it ! The hair dresser took FOREVEEERRR to do highlights. Ive gotten highlights before and never had to sit out for almost 4hrs. The messed up part it that for as long as I was there, I still had to leave with my hair unfinished. I didnt even get a chance to blow dry it! (thats how long it took her). The worst part is that the hair dresser didnt even bother combing my hair after washing/conditioning it... and I HAVE CURLYYYY HAIR! How is that okay? Could you imagine not combing through curly hair at the very least? I went home with a whole tangled grey mess of hair. I literally had anxiety looking at myself in the mirror. The color was so awful! I didnt even know a hair color could make me hyperventilate the way I was when I saw myself in the mirror! Penzone, if you have a client that comes in with curly hair, PLEASE make it your responsibility to have their hair combed while still sitting in the chair in which they are having their hair washed/conditioned. We dont have European hair. Its not like once you sit us in the styling chair in front of that mirror that our curly hair is going to magically be combed out effortlessly. Curly hair needs to be combed while IT IS STILL WET WITH CONDITIONER IN IT! Goodness gracious. How are you a salon with employees who specialize in curly hair and yet dont know that this is what should be done? Listen.. I could say more. But I guess if you dont mind playing a game when you sit on someones chair on whether youll receive excellent or mediocre quality, then this is the salon for you.
This was the most amazing experience we had! It was our 2nd anniversary and I wanted to surprise my husband so I took him to this location. They exceeded our expectations! For some reason my appointment was missed, it was a miscommunication issue but they fixed it right way with a magnificent attitude. Not only they offered an apology, they also fixed it immediately. We are definitely coming back because they have gained 2 customers! This is how every establishment should react when issues arise. Attitude is everything! Amazing work Penzone!
The best salon for hair, nails and body. I got a treatment for my mom with Susan a year ago and we are hooked! She is the BEST and now we all go for our hair! Cut styles color, very professional and its like you are pampered right when you walk in!
I recently got my hair done by Michelle. This was my first time at a penzones salon and will definitely return! I loved my cut and color. Michelle cared about the health of my hair and did a great job!!
The new salon is impressive! Social lounge was nice. Had a few hiccups with my first stylist but the manager and Mr. Penzone made it right and were very professional! Emerson was amazing and did exactly what I wanted and excited to find a new stylist to come back to for myself and my two girls!
Went in on Sunday and got a cut and color with highlights by Summer! She did an excellent job that’s why we keep going back to her! She always takes such good care of us , she is very friendly and does good work! I highly recommend her !!
I went in to get my arch and lip done with an employee I have not used before. The new place is lovely. She was extremely nice.The issues were 1. There was a lot of hair left over...figured it out when I got home. 2. I understand shes a smoker (and I respect that), however, she and her hands smelled strong of cigarettes! Her hands were also freezing cold. It was just bad....bad. I wasnt really ticked until I looked in the mirror.Its a decent chunk of change too, $45 with $10 tip. Im just going to stick with my normal person(who was not available that day).8/30/18 - Update to review: I have reached out by messaging Charles Penzone two times. Never heard back. I have downgraded my experience to a one star. After being a 20 year Customer, I think this is where it ends - I wont be back.
Love the new app. So easy to schedule online now, especially last minute. The new building is beautiful and certainly an upgrade but the way they have the stylists set up makes it very loud and a bit crowded. Also where you go for your color to process now it like a bar and a bit awkward. However the new sinks for hair washing are the most comfortable iv ever been in.
Very happy with my experience. Since I have been going here, I am always greeted right when I walk in.The atmosphere is comfortable and clean. I love the fact I can leave work after a busy day, and unwined with a glass of wine or cocktail while getting my hair done. Stella nailed the color, cut, and style I am going for. I left feeling very happy, and confident.
I had my first visit to the new Penzone Salon the place is very elegant. Had the privilege to meet hair stylist Lauren Miller . Just want to say Thank you for a Great hair cut . She has a Wonderful Personality treats Clients with upmost respect. HIGHLY recommend .
If youve had shoddy salon experiences in the past (like myself), youll certainly appreciate an appt with Randi that much more. Shes worked magic helping me transition from a brunette to a blond (without compromising the integrity of my hair!!). Really wonderful experience overall; I definitely recommend it.
-I love my hairdresser Delaney; The new facility is beautiful! I would say however that it is WAY TOO LOUD! Half the fun of having a hairdresser you love is because we connect and can chat during our appointments. with 8 other hair designers in one area it is too hard to hear.-Also I noticed the water in the shampooing area would change temperatures without any reason.
Absolutely love Penzone, they are the only people I trust with my hair! They are efficient, friendly, and it’s the best quality hair coloring I’ve experienced. Stella is especially wonderful, and she always gives me the perfect blonde balayage. Can’t wait to come back in soon to get my balayage touched up again for the spring :)
Marty did my hair for my wedding. I dont think I have ever been more in love with an undo. I told her I wanted to make sure my hair stayed in place all night, and it most definitely did. It ended up pouring down rain as I walked down the aisle and my hair still looked entirely untouched after it dried. Noelle did my make up and it also stayed even through the rain. At the end of the night my face and hair still looked amazing. These girls did great job and I would recommend them to anyone if you are looking for awesome work.
The new spa in Dublin is very nice and fancy. It looks like something in a big city or California. They have coffee, tea, drinks, a bar. They didnt have any low calorie sweetener options so that was a bummer. However, the day I went it was quite busy my appointment was about 45 minutes late and they took about 5% off my bill which maybe covered tax. It wasnt the best experience though the lady who did my manicure was very nice and did a wonderful job. Im not sure if Ill return on a Saturday or not but I probably will to see if this was just a one time incident.
Shout out to the Management Team and hair artists Gary and Skye!! They turned my very first hair catastrophe into a miracle!! I “thought” there was no way they could fix my hair- Gary gave me a style until Skye could get me in to apply extensions. The Management Team went above and beyond by making sure I was taken care of immediately. Their customer service skills were amazing!! They turned an unfortunate situation into a situation that will work out in the end. You should be proud Debbie and Charles Penzone!
Jacquelyn was great! My friend referred me to her and we began to work on my mess. I walked out not only feeling confident about my initial repair to my hair but also on my improved undercut. I have psoriasis on my scalp and have battled with it for years. Having access to apply medicine and get artificial sunlight on it is a must for me and she not only touched up on my preexisting undercut but put some designs and now I don’t feel ashamed for my condition because she brought attention to the design and not my flaking! She is so personable and I cannot wait to see her again so we can get my hair looking in tip top shape! 💖
