This place was great. Drink specials are phenomenal. Atmosphere was great, we got there before the wave of people for the night club, both moods were fun. Great place for pool and to dance. Bouncers and bartenders were nice and fun to chat with. Would recommend you stop for a night out on the town.

Fun bar. It was slow the nights I went, but the crowd was really nice. Bartenders were very friendly and attentive. Good drinks and an excellent space, very large. Enjoyed my visit here.

I dont feel safe here as a person who identifies with the LGBTQ+ community. My friends and I have been roofied here more times than anyone should ever experience (we are always safe with our drinks), to the point to where I started to only order canned drinks (opened in front of me) and it magically stopped. On top of that they hire staff who harass and stalk paying customers.A hot mess college bar that uses the identity as a LGBTQ+ bar.Not a bar for the theys, gays, and gals.My friends and I will continue to swear off this establishment and the tainted name they have built for themselves.

So pretty much a straight bar with pride flags. Filled with college bros hitting on groups of loud straight girls who will, no matter what, somehow always get in your way. Dj only played top 10 songs from about a decade or longer ago, with the rare occasional newer song. Thrift shop, Sexy and I know it, Gangnam style, etc. All tired, burnt out music. Listen to the other reviews, dont come here on a Friday.

Kicked me put for putting my hands up as I express myself while talking, and was super nice to everyone, they said I made them uncomfortable, but didnt tell that in person no warning, nothing said was driving customers away at the time and there was no customers. Now Im I guess banned. Thats messed up.. I had 7 drinks but all I was doing is trying to make the bartender a friend. Anyways thank hahah

Jinx was an amazing bartender she helped us out made us laugh. She greeted us with smiles and funny jokes and good drinks 10/10 keep her around loved her can’t wait to be back

Jinx is such a terrible person, shes told me that my outfit wasnt it and shes always tried to steal away any guys she liked that i would bring out. She also talked bad about multiple people who went there/ worked there. Shes been known to also take advantage of many guys and call other guys homophobic that didnt return her advances The flame used to be my safe place and she ruined it.

Jinx is an absolutely terrible employee with an ego problem. I always have a bad experience every time shes my server, and nothing but attitude is what I am greeted with. The other servers do phenomenal!

Came in right about 6pm. Very small crowd but expected for a Wednesday night imo. But had to leave due to the fact someone had their toddler with them. I don’t feel comfortable drinking in front of kids.Looked very clean, no music playing. Very clear drinks and specials displayed.I checked the laws while sitting there and my job doesn’t allow me to do something like that.

Jinx was an absolute delight!! The bar was PACKED but we waited no time at all for our drinks!! Such an incredible bartender! ❤️

I would have easily given this place 5 stars without a doubt. But thanks to the hot headed bouncer whom was obviously bored and looking for some action this place gets 1star. The bartender was awesome.. she was responsive and drinks were good. We came in with a bachelor/bachelorette party. Everyone is always pretty good, no craziness in our group. But it seemed like the bouncer targeted us right off the bat... everywhere we went he was on our ass. Which is odd when we were just dancing and socializing. At some point we approached a few of us and told us to leave. We without resisting did so.. but he felt the need to grab us and push us threw the doors.. This guy didnt stop there, but Im not going to post the rest. Ill take it up with management. This guy needs to be a professional and not a hot head looking to rough people up.

Absolutely phenomenal place. Came with the WE Clinic for the all ages drag show and felt incredibly loved and protected!! Thank you, staff and monarchy. You are truly incredible.

Been here a few times already, but wanted to review after what a great time I had here with my boyfriend on Friday night! We played foosball and had our drinkies, we danced and had a great time! Only giving 4 stars due to the lack of bartenders. Took awhile to get drinks and quarters for the foosball machine. The dance floor was really wet/sticky as well. Other than that, I cant wait to come back up to Duluth for a weekend getaway and come to The Flame! Thanks for an awesome time!

Fun place although be ready for a flight of stairs in the entrance. Good music and good drinks at a reasonable price. Had fun playing darts and pool. Plenty of seating and a nice dance floor.

Max was very sweet and charming. The bar was kinda dead however Max made the atmosphere very electric and made it well worth our stay here. It was my birthday and he really helped out.

I have been helping with dance lessons and music with my friend Shirley Hall every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at the Flame Night Club. It has been very well received. We are teaching swing dance lessons and doing some line dancing too. Two hours of fun from 7:15 to 9:15. Thank you Alvin Berg for letting us use your night club. It really is one of the best dance floors.

Very fun people, love the dancing lessons and the giant Marilyn Monroe statue. Im not sure of the bartender Lonnies orientation but she is too adorable and very nice to everyone!

Went on a Saturday night. It wasnt pack which was nice. We stayed almost till close and they played good music all night. There music was a mix of everything and they change it up. You dont just have the boots and pants music.

Bad service, bartenders will call you out on on your lisp or any speech impediment. Bouncers are asshats. Not a good experience, 1/10, absolutely will not go back.

Love this place, but just a note, Karaoke on Thursday starts at 10pm, not 9pm!

LOVE this place. Im not huge on bars but this one just has such a great atmosphere and pretty inexpensive drinks.

In my opinion, this is the closest thing Duluth has to a legitimate night club, music is better than grandmas sports garden. Friday night is the night for the flame.

Be careful: Flame is basically a straight bar with gay themes (e.g., rainbow flags). While the bar is one of the major hosts for Duluth Pride, the space attracts more college-aged people (UMD likely) rather than a local gay scene. While the atmosphere resembles a typical college bar, it is nonetheless accepting of all - gay and straight. The drinks are somewhat small, not too strong, and served in plastic cups. Excellent and friendly service.
