Head Hunters

I chose Head Hunters because of their Google rating. I have long, curly/frizzy type hair and needed a keratin smoothing treatment. I have had 4 previous treatments. Always leaving my hair amazing and silky. After the first treatment here at Head Hunters, within an hour my hair was curly and frizzing up underneath. I called and the rude receptionist said there was nothing that could be done. I asked the stylist to call me and she did, I was able to text her pictures. She asked me to return ASAP and she would re-do it, which she did. I also got a cut and blow dry that day ~ very happy with that. Now, less than 1 week later after the 2nd treatment, my hair is even worse. I am waiting to hear from the manager, as I am out $300+ for the treatment. I am fine with the fee for cut and blow dry. Hopefully I will be contacted soon and this will be resolved and I can change this rating to 5 stars.***UPDATE*** owners have decided they are unable to offer me anything else. Take a look at these photos, they are fine with charging me $300 for my hair to look like this after one shampoo following TWO smoothing treatments.Save your money and go somewhere that stands behind their product and values you as their customer ?

They are professional, have a good number of stylists, and do a great job. Young or ild, there is a atylist for you. I get my hair done here and a young teenage friend of the family does too. They do great work with color, cuts, and have other services too.

Kelly was very attentive to my grandsons special needs/requests (autistic). Her interaction was friendly, fun & professional....thanks Kelly! He loves his haircut!

Excellent place to get your hair cut, colored, died etc etc. The staff is top notch here & the prices are reasonable. Also the owner is very hands on & extremely welcoming! I wouldnt go anywhere else to have my hair cut, or my gray hairs colored ☺. 🇺🇸

I loved the atmosphere ! First time there for me and the girl Jenn was amazing! She just knew what to do and did it! I have been afraid to have low lights put in and my old hairdresser said it would be too much work and kept convincing me to keep it the way it was. Jenn is awesome !

Kasey listened to what I was asking for in my haircolor. We discussed several options and I walked out very happy. She also did my Keratin Smoothing Treatment that was long overdue. See you next time!

Hair cut and style: Jennifer knew how to do the shampoo and blow dry.. but looks like she didnt know much about layers... u could barely see layers in my hair. Charged 74$ (overpriced) plus 20% gratuity, for a 5 minute haircut.

UT was amazing! I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she took her time to get it right. It normally takes an average of 5 hours to do my hair and she did it in 3.5 hours. I won’t be going anywhere else from now on!

I had long fine hair and was nervous about cutting it off. Jenn listened to what I was hoping for and gave me her expert opinion of what would work for my face shape and hair type. She cut and styled my hair exactly as I hoped and gave me tips for styling it myself at home. I left the salon feeling great with a modern hair style that has volume! I won’t hesitate to return when it needs a refresh.

The stylist did a wonderful job! Saved my daughters first day of school.

Every time I visit this salon, it is such an incredibly welcoming and positive experience...the stylists are professional, friendly, and produce great results! I saw Kelly last week who was a delight to interact with, and was so pleased with the treatment. Highly recommend Head Hunters.

Jillian is an awesome massage therapist! I just had the best deep tissue massage since moving to FL in 2017. She knows how to get in deep and release tensions I didn’t know existed.Kelly is a delightful hair stylist and is filled with a lovely spirit that exudes from her very soul. I love my hair cut & style and how comfortable I felt with her.I’ll definitely be back!!! 😊

Wanted to lighten my hair so I could grow my grey hair out. Asked for their best colorist. $400 and 5 hours later I thought it looked ok. After a few months my hair kept getting worse. It is so dry and breaking. The breakage is so bad that my hair has so many different lengths it is crazy. Also after she rinsed my hair and went to trim it hair was falling out in chunks. I was surprised but hopeful it would not be as bad as I thought. It has been awful! I wash it once a week because it is so dry and I loose so much hair after washing and brushing. If this was their best colorist I would hate to see their worst. The saddest part is she saw the chunks falling out and just brushed it off. She has never contacted me to see how my hair was. She was also not very friendly during my 5 hours sitting in her chair!You can be confused all you want but my husband was sitting right there watching my hair fall out in chunks. No I did not call because why would I want to go back after my hair is falling out!!! I already knew I wouldn’t get a refund. The only thing I did to my hair since then was get a conditioning treatment done at Blush Beauty Bar so I could brush it out without more damage. I can’t get it lightened anymore because of the damage I have already! I can come in a show you and you will see all my root grow out. That is proof enough that it has not been colored!! I am confused as to why the stylist would see chunk’s coming out while she is trimming my hair and blow it off like it is nothing. Maybe she should have called me to see how my hair was doing since you stand behind your work

She suggested a new highlight color which was an excellent choice . Also she suggested a new cute haircut. It turned out she knew her stuff! My only complaint was the extremely high price of $199.00 plus tip.

Great cut! Very happy with my hair. Stephanie listened carefully to my hair woes (frizzy ends, too many layers) and gave me just what I needed. My hair looks and feels great and the cut is versatile enough to style many different ways. I can highly recommend Stephanie and will definitely return. Worst experience I’ve ever had at a salon. Worst treatment as a consumer/client I’ve ever had at a salon and by a salon owner.Maybe I can save someone the time, trouble and wasted money by sharing my experience. I place the blame solely on the owner.1. I had 4 different stylist in 6 visits.The first man gave me the greatest highlights and lowlights and a beautiful cut. I got many compliments.They moved location. He was gone.The next girl tried to do the same thing. She made my color darker and basically “undid” the everything the first guy did.I lived with it until the next appointment, explained the mistake to the owner who handed me over to a new stylist, Brie, who again gave me a good HL and LL and a decent cut. The owner knocked $35.00 off as a compensation.Went to Brie again. Good results.Next appt. Brie was gone. I was given to Justine. She did a heavy front highlight. No full color with highlights. And by the way Brie was undercharging everyone. So the amount went from $145.00 to $195.00 This was told to me after, not before, everything was done. What if I didn’t have the money? When I got home my husband who loves when I walk in blonde said and I quote, “What the hell happened”?I called the next day. I was told the stylist followed Brie’s color notes exactly. She couldn’t possibly have made a mistake. Sio I polled my neighbors, family. Everyone said terrible job, especially at that price. The salon insisted I was wrong.I tried to schedule a time the owner and I could meet. I was willing to wait as long as it took. One appt. was cancelled by me due to a leaking tire. After many weeks they then told me it was too close to my next touch up so.... NO, THEY WOULD NOT BE DOING ANYTHING to rectify the situation. So, basically, go pound sand.The owner never had the guts to speak to me directly. She has the receptionist do her dirty work. She’s not nice or friendly. Maybe that’s why the turnover rate is so high. The newer staff is not experienced. When you complain, they gang up on you. I guess they think you’ll be afraid and cower away.I did offer the owner to give me back half of what I paid. She didn’t have the courtesy or “ CHUTZPAH” to answer.Don’t ruin your holidays by booking here for a new look. Hope this informs someone. I sure feel better now. KARMA

My stylist was Jennifer and she was awesome! All I knew was I wanted a color and a cut and she led me into a great style. I love my new hair!

My regular stylist left my salon. Based on the excellent recommendations, I called Head Hunters and was lucky enough to get Kasey. I felt Kasey really listened to me but also gave me her recommendations. The end result was beautiful

This is my first time there. And I think I got the best first haircut Ive ever had in my life. I went to see Denise and she really listens to what I wanted and gave me a great cut. I will be back. The salon itself was very nice. Easy to locate. Ample parking. Nice and clean and bright and new inside.

Ut cut my hair and she went above and beyond! I went in with my hair down past my waist. I wanted a drastic change.. a cut, with layers, and side bangs, a completely different look than what I had. My hair was very flat and damaged when I arrived but I left with the most voluminous and healthy hair I’ve ever had in my life, and great tips to keep it up at home. I will be a regular with her, as she did the best job that anyone has ever done on my hair. I’m extremely satisfied with my experience all together. Thank you for my confidence boost!

I use Sara she is a true artist with coloring and cuts. I would never go to another salon. The front desk always greets you with a warm friendly smile. They treat you like a family member. I wish them a speedy recovery from the storm. I pray their homes are all safe.

I scheduled an appt w Anna, as a new client. I arrived for my appt on time and the receptionist said that she would right up. After 20 minutes or waiting without an update (she wasnt even in the room with another client), I verified with the receptionist that my appt was in fact at 1p, and she said yes, let me go check on her. I told her that there was no need, that I didnt appreciate the inconsiderateness and left. Everyones time is valuable and as a new client, having not received any update for the 20 minutes and I had to approach someone for any kind of action.The service industry is lagging- with salons on every other corner, Im sure Ill find one that appreciates a new client and is respectful.UPDATED:As promised by Marie, salon owner, she has graciously offered to make things right.@Marie- truly appreciate you being in touch so quickly !! TY!

I live up north and have only trusted one stylist with my hair in 15 years. My work hours make scheduling any personal time impossible but being away from home for a few days gave me the opportunity to get a trim on my long locks that haven’t seen a cut since last August. My stylist was professional and thrilled to take on the challenge of reshaping my long thick hair with all the layers and frills it used to have. She did an absolutely beautiful job and I look forward to flying south for my haircuts again. The salon is clean, stylish and professional. I highly recommend!

I have long dark hair that is stick strait and doesnt lift well with bleach. I came in today for blonde highlights and long layers because my hair is super heavy (every stylists nightmare). My stylist got my hair to lift perfectly with no brass or yellow, perfect beautiful blonde highlights and no chemical damage (Im still in shocked). She took extra time with the cut making sure my layers blended nicely because I have such strait hair. She is very experienced, and made me feel so comfortable even though I am visiting out of town and seeing someone new is always scary. I wish I lived here because she 100% would be my only stylist. You have a great team, so professional and I will be back next time I come to visit.

Trim no wash just a trim ...baby fine thinning hair 70 bucks...never again would not recommend

Justine was excellent! Very professional, yet pleasant. She was careful with selecting the highlight colors that would complement my complexion. She is great with the foils, and I really appreciated the extras like thorough shampoos, a beverage, and this place uses great products. I had not experienced the steam processing before, and was pleased to see the salon is very clean. I’m new to this area, and Head Hunters was recommended. I think I truly lucked out finding a new salon and hair dresser on the first try!

I absolutely love Patti Fine and give her a 5 star+. She does excellent work. However, $60 + for a wash, cut and dry is a bit much. Unfortunately, I will not longer be going there.

I just moved to the Englewood area and was pleased to find such a professional hair salon for a reasonable price. Michelle cut my hair. She did an excellent job. I enjoyed my experience and had a comfortable and pleasant conversation with her while getting my beautiful new hair style done. I asked for a bob with an under blow dry just above my shoulders and that is exactly what I got. I did a ton of research on different salons, and kept going back to this one. They had the best and the most reviews by far. Im so glad that I went here. The staff was friendly and my stylist was great. She fixed my dry hair and gave me the best hair cut. I will definitely go back and tell everyone about this place.

I received a wonderful balayage, cut, and style from Jacklyn today. She was professional, personable, and skilled. I was apprehensive of getting my hair done as I have never changed my color before, and I am so pleased I stepped out of my comfort zone, it’s exactly what I wanted. I have just moved to the Englewood area, and was in need of a haircut/style. After checking reviews I found Head Hunters. Theyre located in Tiffany Square, and so were easy to find for a newbie like me. I was greeted promptly and with a big smile, which set the tone for my visit (Thank you, Sam!!). My stylist, Jackie, came right up to get me (no wait in a very busy salon, color me impressed). She took the time to put me in her chair, take my purse for me, and tell me we were going to have a chat about my hair. She was very professional, but at the same time I felt as though shed just invited me into her kitchen for coffee and scones! After the consult, she asked if Id had my hair cut with a razor, and had it worked well for me (usually a stylist will just go at it without caring what I think). Throughout the cut she checked her work, and checked with me to make sure she was getting it to my satisfaction. She also kept up a wonderful conversation with me, proving herself to be a kind, warm, and funny individual. When all was done, and each hair was cut to both her and my final approval, I wound up with a wonderful hairstyle that was just what I had asked for. Kudos, Jackie, for an overall incredible experience!! I will absolutely be back, and as she has a full schedule, I will make sure to call for an appointment with her. Brie was absolutely wonderful! I had a full highlight and haircut with her. My hair had three separate shades of brunette in it, including very dark ends. She created such a beautiful look for me as Im going through a transition of being a brunette to a blond and growing out a faux hawk. I didnt think I could have such a stylish in between look, but she pulled it off. I plan on continuing to work with her through the rest of my process. I truly appreciate how attentive she was to my needs. She is an excellent stylist!

Everyone is really nice and courteous there. I have had a few different stylists do my hair and have loved it every time. The last 2 times I have been Jessie has done my hair. I love it. I walked in and said, Be creative with the color and make it fun. She didnt disappoint. I like being able to go to a place where I can trust their judgement to make me look good.

I just moved from Millville Massachusetts and was looking for a salon that I could have a manicure and pedicure and also a cut and style. I drove by the salon and loved the look and thought I would give it a try. I did read the reviews first and seeing they were great thought I would give it a try. All I can say is WOW...so happy I did! Michelle Church gave me one of the best pedicure and manicure ever...her technique is a god given talent. My next stop was having Patti cut and style my fine hair...never been happier with a cut. So happy with my experience that I made appointments for the next nine months. This was my first appointment with Stephanie, and I requested a change from long hair to short. This could be a daunting task for some, but Stephanie was confident and reassuring throughout my transformation. I love my new style and look forward to future visits at Head Hunters! Haley was great! Friendly, easy to chat with.She worked to match my color using my formula from home as a guide. My hair feels so silky. Great color and so far the cut seems good too. Ill be back. My only negative is that I prefer to have at least a damp dry blow dry but I was not willing to spend $10 on a blow dry so I left wet.

DEBORAH was outstanding at cutting and dying my hair today. She started exactly on schedule readily prepared for my 3pm appointment. Her customer service was very appreciated because not only did she listen but she understood what my personal hair preferences were. She displayed master knowledge in her field of occupation by cutting my hair how I requested, dying my hair to the proper color, and remaining on task while also being super friendly. At the end of the session I was completely in disbelief.. no one has cut and dyed my hair so perfectly before! That was seriously the best feeling Ive had for a while. I switched over to Head Hunters from another salon i have been going for years. it was a little scary finding the right person after going to the same salon for years. but i found Cheri. Cheri is great with blonde hair. my hair feels amazing after each appointment. Everyone is friendly & welcoming as soon as you walk in. they wipe and spray each chair and working station after they are done with each client. i am very happy with the products, too! they know their stuff. highly recommend.

I went to Head Hunters Salon today for the first time. It was a new and very stylish place, and my stylist, Hailey, was excellent. She listened carefully to my concerns, shared her expertise on hair style maintenance and cut my hair beautifully! A very pleasant experience!

Haley took an extended amount of time during our consultation time to really examine my hair (fine, calics, grey, old color, cut), asking questions to really try and understand what I envisioned and wanted,and discuss possibilities. She found a great base color and very skillfully did a bayalage on my hair. She spent even more time teaching me how to use fiber so I can recreate the texture I was wanting.Haley did all this and I was basically a walk-in (called about 3 hours before my same day appointment.).I am excited I found my new stylist. I am new to the area, found this delightful salon. The receptionist was very professional, polite and welcoming. The facilities appear to be very modern. The staff seem to have regular clients which is a good sign ! I especially liked Danika, she gave me what I wanted, took the time to ask me questions about my hair, and gave me a long overdue cut that I am very happy with. Kudos!

I just discovered this salon today and had a very good experience. My rating today is based on my very short visit. I was pleasantly greeted, and the receptionist answered all my questions. I asked about the possibility of getting a bang trim and Brie was able to handle my request immediately! She did s great job and I will be back. I have a pedicure scheduled and will report on that afterwards.

Worst experience ever! I wouldnt even give this place 1 star. It went wrong the moment I walked in the door. I wasnt scheduled with the stylist I was told I was. The one I did end up seeing new nothing about color and thats why I was there! The stylist on each side of me was trying to tell her what to do and she spent 30 mins trying to mix colors with no success. She finally admitted she doesnt know much about color she does cuts and perms. So I told her I rather not have her do something shes not comfortable with. I go up front explain what happened they apologized and said they would move things around on their schedule and would call me back and would definitely get me fit in before I leave to go out of town. Hours later I get a call saying they cant help me and I can come get a free product for the inconvenience and recommended some other salon because they dont have the color I want but clearly they did because 2 other girls told my stylist what to do. To be told they would make this right and then not even care that Im leaving town and now my hair is a mess and the service sucked. I wouldnt recommend this place stay away!

The salon is clean, modern, and spacious. The staff is friendly and competent. I have my hair colored, and the product they use doesnt irritate my scalp the way it always did at other salons. The processing time is also faster than my previous salon.

The salon had been reopened a little more than a week based on the governors reopen plan. I talked with the person scheduling appointments and he shared with me all the things the salon was doing to protect the workers and customers that visited the salon. It has been well over six weeks since my cut & colour. Due to the COVID19 & being Canadian we had to make a quick exit home to Canada. All of our Canadian salons have had to close, so my hair is quite long (usually quite short) and my roots are growing daily. That being said my hair style is really not too bad and neither is my colour and it is all because of the great cut & colour I got at Head Hunters!Lord willing, we will see you in the fall of 2020!

I had Meghan do my highlights. She took forever- i mean it’s bleach, were not applying a hair mask! The job was sloppy uneven, and she hurried towards the end. Quality of the work was like an amateur bleaching hair at home. At a price of 100+ could you at least pretend to like your customers? They’re your paycheck after all! Save your time and money!!! Run far from this place!!!!

I went in this afternoon with the intention of creating an entirely new look for myself. Honestly I was very nervous and a tad afraid to make such a major change however Armaud did a spectacular job! I had an idea of what I wanted but I put the task in Arnauds hands and asked him to go with his instinct. Wow - Im very pleased with his skill - finally found a true professional in Englewood! Ps my husband believes he has a new, more glamorous wife! 😉

Edit from a 2 star to 5..........................Head Hunters owner reached out and offered to fix my haircut for free. I did take them up on this offer because I really wanted my hair fixed! I was paired up with Megan. What a difference in the experience I had between Megan and Danika. It was like night and day! Not only did Megan fixed what Danika messed up on she was sweet, friendly, took her time, AND gave me a mirror to make sure I was happy. Thank you Megan and I will certainly make sure I pair up with you again. Thank you to the owner for offering to make it right!2 star.....I had Danika Atwell do my haircut. Cut took about 30 minutes. She said she doesnt do well with curly/wavy hair and it persuaded me not to get it blow dried and styled. I still paid $55 or so for a quick wash and cut. I could of paid way cheaper at those chain salons. In the end its not even lol. One side is longer than the other. So my experience here for a haircut will certainly not lead me back to Head Hunters again, definitely not Danika. The 😒

Anna listened to my concerns and offered suggestions on what cut would be best for me. She was patient and cared about how I felt walking out the door. I plan to return to her for future cuts.

My daughter had an appointment there this today to have her haircut and possibly donate to Locks of Love. She did agree upon getting her haircut but unfortunately when she came out to the car with only maybe a quarter of what they cut off we cannot donate anything. Very unfortunate it as she got her hair cut short and was already upset about that but now she cant donate anything. I would definitely not recommend going here if you want to donate your hair. It was all so overpriced as she got in the car and her hair was soaking wet not a very good value. I was upset hecause we have very little to donate. And if I wanted to pay for a haircut that looks like I went to Wal-Mart. I would have gone there. Unfortunately we are unable to donate because we were not given enough of her hair to send.

My first visit to Head Hunters Salon & Spa was 11/12/18. I was beyond impressed with the atmosphere and professional ,as well as friendly, way I was treated. Angie cit my hair and it is perfect. Exactly what I wanted. I will be a regular customer and look forward to trying some of their other services.

I was really looking forward to getting my hair done, since my last cut and style was over year ago, right before I got pregnant. It was a special treat to finally pamper myself, but also special that it was on the owners expense (exchange in services). I was specific that I wanted the balayage technique to the owner. She said she had the best girl! I got to my appt on time and waited 20 minutes to be seen, which is ok, but I had a nursing baby at home and didnt have time to spare. Im pretty laid back so I went with the flow. I expected to be offered a beverage like water or wine while I waited. Nope. Finally I was greeted by the stylist...and when I sat in the chair I again was specific that I wanted the balayage technique. I also provided a picture for inspiration (color/style/technique). As she started to apply the color, lots of color, I noticed the strands of hair started to blend together. I was thinking oh no my hair is going to be one color!. I can see other stylists looking with confusion on her technique. As I sat in the chair with color I was freaking out. I also noticed how disorganized she was. She finally did offer me something, some of her nuts and a Slim Jim. Uh, no thanks! After sitting for 2 hours and still no sight of being done, I asked for a glass of wine. I needed a drink! I was happy that they actually had wine. I needed go, my baby needed me, so knowing that she began to wash out the color and dry my hair. I was cringing as she was styling my hair, because I started to notice my brown hair was now a rust color on the bottom, like an ombre look. Eek! The cut was also not right. Im not a confrontational person so I couldnt say anything. I mean what do you say, the owner chose this stylist for me and paid for it. The entire experience was uncomfortable and not relaxing. The owner asked how I liked my hair. I was honest but left out my overall experience. She felt bad and offered to fix it, but first impressions are everything and I did not trust my hair could be fixed. Plus it would be uncomfortable to get my hair done by another stylist in front of the stylist who messed up. Unfortunately I would not recommend this salon. Its not as high-end as it portrays. A week or so later after trying to wear my hair as is, I went to my favorite salon in Tampa to get exactly what I wanted; a pampered experience and beautiful hair.

Evidently she did work and left early. Then today I had another appt. They were closed. No one called. But I was able to get thru just fine. The phone lines are working!They ARE NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL! SHE RUINED MY HAIR ALSO. CUT AT LEAST 4 TO 6 INCHES OFF AND IT IS STILL DAMAGED BY CHERI!DONT GO THERE! MORE IMPORTANTLY DONT USECHERI!!!!!

Went to get my toes done, been getting the same thing for years, when I requested it argued with me about what I requested. Did what I ask, but the atmosphere was already established and pretty much ruined the experience. By the end she had lighted up a little, she did do a good job, just wasnt the most pleasant experience.

Megan is the one who cut my husbands hair, she did nothing he asked. He asked for a skin fade hair cut on his back and sides and to take off half the length on his top. It looks like she barely took any length off the the top and definitely did go to the skin on the back or sides. The side of his head is still patchy like she missed shaving it. Honestly I don’t think she really knew what she was doing when it came to cutting a mans hair or she just didn’t care. Most likely both. We won’t be coming back

If you are concerned about COVID, I would NOT go there. They have unvaccinated stylists who dont even wear masks. I wasnt informed. Apparently, $$$ is more important than their clients safety. Shame. They lost my business FOREVER. No where did I see that I could ask the beautician to wear a mask. It is the OWNERS responsibility to keep the customers safe!
