I used to love this place and recommended it to several others. However, the forced tip is ridiculous. I am a good tipper and yet your cashier insisted on more. I will not be coming back and instead of recommending people. I am warning them. $27 tip???!!! I was giving $20.00You may want to consider if this practice is legal. As the prices listed are false due to your excessive tip mandate.

What a disappointment. I came in and no one was there I had to call out a few times for someone to come out. I went in for a 60 min body massage and 30 foot massage.my massge was interrupted more than 3 times. The lady was so heavy handed I had to ask her a few time to be gentle. She spent majority of the time on my upper back after I requested lower back.I regret getting the foot massage! First, she was massaging my legs instead of my feet. And she was sooo rough. I’m waking up the next morning with such pain on the bridge of my feet and my legs are so sore. I could barely walk. My husband had to rub my feet this morning and now I’m soaking them in ice. 😔I still tipped her but I shouldn’t have. I tipped her $20 and she was demanding more. Also, as I was getting myself before walking out she kept guarding me. Idk if she thought I’d take the flip flops that were by door. 🤷🏻‍♀️ never going back

I highly recommend this place. I have being going for a couple of years. And recently i had the best massage by Lili. 🫶🏽 they also gave me a punch card so i can get a free visit after.

The massage was amazing, but when I went to pay, the owner insisted I pay almost 27% tip. ($20 tip for a $75 massage.)There was a suggested tip sign that she kept pointing to, and when I pointed out the word, “suggested”, and told her that 20% of $75 is $15, she got upset and told me that this isn’t the same as a restaurant and then rudely brushed her hand and if to tell me to leave. Not even an offer of some water or tea after the massage. Haggling for an extra $5 above the 20% tip.It was the strangest encounter I’ve ever had after getting a massage anywhere. And so unfortunately rude to the point where I know I won’t be going back.*Edit/update- The business’ response that “20% is really not much…” goes against my point.Because I TRIED tipping 20% of $75, which is $15. However, I was pushed and pressured into giving beyond 20%. The woman began to speak rudely and said I needed to give at least $20 in tip which is nearly 27%.I most definitely want to respect the hard work of the masseuse, but if a 26+% tip is expected, then RAISE THE PRICE of the massage.I have been getting massages around the world for my whole adult life. Never have I been spoken to rudely if I didn’t give over the usual 20% tip.

Shanti, you just lost two customers who have brought more than 5 other people that are your regular customers now. Unfortunately, this will be our last time at your salon.Ive read other reviews and since it has never happened to my gf and me before, we didnt believe them, but now we experienced exactly the same situation.We just finished 60 min massage which costs 50$ and left 10$ tip for each. The masseuse on the register made us feel so uncomfortable and embarrassed for leaving ONLY 10 dollars... That never happened to us before...We do appreciete the service, and understand this is not an easy job, and its a one-on-one job as you keep saying in the other replies, but this is what we could afford at the moment. There is no reason to make us feel uncomfortable...Maybe the owner should pay the employees more, or I guess can even increase the current prices for 5$. I think people would complain less if they pay 5$ more for the service, than to be forced to leave more tip.You need to change this behavior if you want to keep customers.

They made me and my husband wait 30 minutes and the. Asked us to wait another 30 minutes bc they were short staffed. This is AFTER we made appointments. This was our date night and pretty much got screwed as we got a babysitter for our son to go out and ended up wasting so much time here. Spare yourself.

100% recommended for an amazing massage at a great price! Service was good, environment was clean, comfortable and quiet with relaxing music. The masseuse was very professional - she put just the right amount of pressure to loosen tight muscles but not too much for it to be painful. She was very communicative and made sure to ask if the pressure was too much throughout the massage. The hot stones and towels were my favorite part. Make sure to bring cash for tips!

Whenever Im tired, I come here for a 90-minute massage. Ive been getting massages here for more than three years. I like the environment here. Its clean and quiet. The masseurs are very friendly. Each 90-minute massage is $75. I tipped is $25, and the total cost was US$100. I think its a good deal. If you compare it, they are the cheapest. The key is that the massage is great. Due to work, I have bad shoulders and neck, so I often come here for massage. Relieved a lot, I have to give you five stars.

Great clean place, beautiful too, been coming here for 3 -4 years Kevin is a highly skilled masseuse who is very professional. The other guys and women do an amazing job as well. Their prices are reasonable, please don’t be cheap and tip well, they do an amazing job and deserve their tips and respect. BEWARE!!!!! My back is in SO much freakin PAIN!!!!!!! I did a 60 min back + 30 min foot reflexology massage. The lady who massaged me did NOT ask what pressure level I wanted. She dug her damn elbows in my back the entire time. I spoke up TWICE to tell her to lighten the pressure, and she didn’t. I kept squirming the entire time and even said “ouch” a few times during the massage and that didn’t help either.The worse part is that the owner haggled for an extra freaking $5 tip???? They have a sign in the front where you pay that shows a “friendly reminder” about tipping. Note to owner: 20% of $75 is $15, which is what I was tipping. But you haggled for $20 because it was over an hour massage- are you freaking kidding me? Standard tip for service is 20%.I paid $90 in cash and I said to the owner to give the rest to the lady who massaged me, but wanted more. So I told her to give me the cash back, so I can pay with my card. I pay with my card and charged me an extra $5 card fee? Absolutely ridiculous.******Do not go here if you want a sore back afterwards, and where the owner attacks you for a tip when you were already giving one

I have come here ever since I moved here. Up until the last 2 massages, everything was great. I didnt understand the reviews where people said they were asked for more or felt charged too much or pressure to tip this or that. Until recently, I had always had the same mature tall Korean woman who I believe is the owner. I have gotten the exact same message every time I went. I have paid the same thing every time, whether I paid by cash or card. Time before last, I went later in the afternoon than usual and a different day of the week. I told them male or female did not matter. I got a young man. He did a very firm but good massage. The other 2 ladies were young as he was. I went to pay as per usual and then, smiling, she said I owe $$$$ which equaled the cost of the massage plus a 44% tip. I said no. The young man and her said some things to each other in Korean. He was notably upset. She pressed me for the money. Again, I said no. I explained that the price for the massage had not changed and that I have always paid the same. Left my money, and as I was leaving, I noticed the young man basically throw a small tantrum. Hmmm... I was taken aback to say the least. I decided that there was no way the owner could know this was going on... but the other reviews... So, a few weeks pass and Im going back and decided to go back to early morning in hopes she would be present. She was not. This time I requested female so as not to deal with him at all. And again, pressured for more money AND...THIS TIME after I declined, the young lady decided to add taxes....ALSO NEVER ADDED BEFORE and was a flat extra $5. I wont go back unless the owner wants to reach our and tell me when SHE will be there. Im not dealing with these young people who are there now. IF YOU WANT MORE MONEY FOR YOUR MASSAGE, CHANGE THE PRICE OF THE MASSAGE!!!!

I am a return customer and will be s long as I live here. They care. They know how a deep tissue massage is supposed to be. They adjust, if perhaps the pressure is too much in one area, but good in another. Its always clean!!! As far as tipping... unless its really a bad service, I always give at least 20%. A 90 minute proper deep tissue massage for $90 is DEFINITELY a fair price.

Just a great massage…the staff is professional and friendly…the facility is very clean and comfortable….very relaxing and super healthy….helped me with a number of health issues…I recommend it highly!

Had a 1 hour body massage and 15 min foot massage. Intensity was just right and the masseuse spent a good amount of time in each area. Would have been great if they’d asked what intensity I preferred and communicated a little better but overall a great massage for the price.

How rude.Original review:Got a 60 minute foot massage with the husband and honestly I always feel bad for the workers because they are overworked and probably underpaid. Basically the poster suggests tip prices stating: $10 for regular, $15 medium intensity, $20 strong intensity.I was speechless at their audacity and the mans lack of integrity. I told the lady, I shouldnt tip anything because the man was falling asleep during the whole massage, and then she asked him if he was, and he sheepishly and obviously lied saying he didnt sleep.Ultimately, the point is these people dont care about service. They are NOT professional so what you get is what you get. Its a pot of random luck.

I wish I could a half star… Came to get a massage. Decided to get a 60 minute massage for 50.00 .. So I decided to use my debt card as payment she wanted to charge a extra 3.00 to us my card. Ok fine it’s about that much to take off the atm if not using your bank, I go to pay and she tells me I have to tip before I even receive a service .. $10 for Soft $15 for medium and 20 for strong, so what exactly is the $50 for ? So depending on how much I tipbefore my service depends on how good of a massage I will receive. RIP RIP RIP OFF!

Very clean and great pricing. I love coming here, they are very professionals and you come out renew! The place is super clean and the atmosphere it’s very calm and relaxing. I always get 1 hour full body massage for only $40 and give a $10-$12 tip. They treat you very nicely and make you feel safe and comfortable.

My first time visiting this massage parlor was today and it was GREAT. The massage was excellent, it was deep and sensual. I am a power lifter and do lots of heavy squats, deadlifts and Benching .. I pulled my back muscle a few days ago and decided to go here, tony made sure to get the knot out. He even rubbed my hips lol! I highly recommend coming do here. I will edit alley be coming back here again!!! The place is also very clean. Temperature checks were done at the door, masks were worn, sanitizer was everywhere. I felt safe and comfortable. They have great prices and in my opinion better then massage envy and hand and stone . Thank you ☺️

This place is just amazing. I ditched years of chiropractic care, PT and some acupuncture after discovering Shanti E Spa. One-hour session here is equivalent of a month of Chiro and PT care, at least for me. Tony are very skilled and experienced. You dont have to explain your problem, they will find it themselves. The place is very clean, the owner is super nice. There is also parking lot. I brought a few of my friends, they all blown away. Strongly recommend.

I love this spa. It’s right at the downtown of Englewood, essay parking.This spa is very clean, quiet, with soothing music. The masseurs are all very professional. And the price is unbeatable. One hour body massage is only $45, foot massage $35. And there are also package deals.It is a great place to unwind. I recommended to my friends all the time!

We love Shanti Spa! My husband and I try to go every 2 weeks for a couples 1 hour massage. We usually ask for Amber and Tony but any of their professionals are amazing. They know muscles and take their time feeling out the stressed areas. We always walk out feeling that stress/toxins have been massaged out. This is a must for anyone who appreciates a professional, amazing, medicinal massage.

This was my second time coming here, the first time I requested a 60 minute massage, and five minutes in, I was so disappointed I asked for it to be cut down to 30 mins. The Masseuse had no idea what she was doing. Decided to give them a second chance, and finally received a decent massage ! I noticed the sheets were still greasy, but I decided to let it go. However, HORRIBLE customer service. I was demanded (YES! DEMANDED) to leave a $10 tip (40%) instead of a $5 tip (20%), for a $25 massage. I was perplexed. Who in their right mind would demand a 40 % tip and now theyve made it impossible for me to return because as I didnt agree to their demand, and Im pretty sure they will remember this, and wont provide a good service. I believe its important for future clients to know what theyre getting themselves into. I also encourage every person out there experiencing the same, to speak up.

Third or fourth time back since Covid started. Upon arrival,temperature checked as well as checklist of guidelines reviewed. Super clean as usual. Everyone had masks and sanitizers everywhere. Felt very safe. Had two hour massage. Super relaxing and felt rested. Left generous tips as hourly rate is such a bargain. Shanti E spa for me is by far the best place for massage in the area.As a sign of respect for the cleanliness, I always shower before I go. Not sweaty, dirty, or stinky.

Whenever I am tired the first place I want to visit is Shanti Spa in Englewood. The minute I walk in I felt relaxed. The music is soothing and place is always immediately clean. The masseuse is polite and skillful. I would requested to pay attention to certain area, and she always does as I requested. Sometimes she will remind me that my neck or shoulder is too tight maybe I should take few breaks when I work. I referred Shanti Spa in Englewood too all my friends and I already got many thanks. If you are around Englewood, treat your self to a nice massage experience. You will love it.

When they first opened my friend & i are the first few customers that bought 10 tickets for 80 min.massage with 2 free, service was good then but lately we noticed service is getting bad, no hot stone & i questioned but some of the workers cant hardly speak english. Then tonight we went for 80 min.massage & the hot towel they used after the massage is cold, no hot stone but i demanded for it as thats part of the package they advertise, massage was late for my friend because other person still doing massage with other customer, seemed only 2 people are working & the guy demanded $15 tip. First of all service is bad & how can u give them good tip.Usually we give $10 tip & no one complained, now it looks like mandatory tip but service is getting bad. I bought 2 package of 10 massages already before (been there for a year or more) & this is our third time, good we only bought 5 & 1 free, makes us think to go somewhere else if service is declining.

I visited this place with a female friend and had to witness how after the massage they DEMANDED for her to give a higher tip. She had already given the lady $5 for a 30 min massage, and the lady who haga her the massage spoke to the person at the register and he then turned to my friend and told her that she had to give a higher tip. We were both taken back. My friend did not agree and just left the $5 and we left.The massage was ok, but to see this being done to a customer just made the experience horrible. You cant just demand for more tip money, can you?

Amber is by farrrrr the BEST massage therapist i ever had. I went to so many before and all they ever did was lock me up and make me feel so uncomfortable.I have 3 herniated disks in my neck and my job really messes with my body. I see amber religiously once a week for a 2 hour massage.she is the best at working out knots and tension. I cant even explain how good she is. I leave there in no pain. Shes really sweet too and the place is clean. Anyone w knots and tension should see amber to make ur body feel sooooo much better. Best ever. Shes amazing. Try her out . Oh..and the prices are great. 45 for the hour. I tip 20 an hour because shes so good. She is chinese but understands english. She knows the differences in pressure. All you have to do is communicate with her and she will ease up if the pressure is too much.Change the way you feel by seeing amber.Best decision i made for my body

Tried a few massage parlors around the area and finally found a massage specialist I really like. Tony would get all 5 stars but it’s unfortunate the other specialists within the same location can’t compare so 4 stars it is. If you’re into deep tissue massages, Tony is the one for you.

I come to shanti to do 1hour massage every week .All therapists there are very professional,they did very good job on my body.My shoulder and lower back was terrible, after massage I feel so much better. Me and my fiance went last night because my fiance back was really in pain. when we got their we told the nice lady that we needed a 30 min body work for two people. she said hold on because they was under staff and the other employee was eating. we seen that the lady and guy was arguing back and forth and we and my fiance started to walk out the door. until the lady started walk back out. we got to our room that nice lady started on me first and told my girlfriend 5 mins. well 15 minutes later the guy comes and finished the 15minutes later. the lady was amazing but the short guy that help my fiance was unprofessional and was in a rush. i gave him my card to pay. while im trying to sign my name hes on top of me looking to see if im going to write a tip. i use to love going here but not anymore.

My daughter took me here for my birthday and since its by my job I am going to go again soon . I fell asleep and snored I felt so relaxed. The ambiance is so serene.

They demand tip. If you read the other low reviews about how they insisted on tip, the owner replied saying that tip isnt mandatory but they definitely give you a hard time. In one of the review, the owner replied back saying that $10 minimum is respect and that just negates the whole purpose of what TIP is. Tip should NEVER be mandatory.

We felt comfortable at all times and the price of $50 for one hour seemed appropriate to me. We gave a $10 tip. each one that seems fair to us because it is 20%
