OMalleys Stage Door

This is the oldest bar still operating in downtown Galveston. They opened in 1986. Tiffany took great care of us. It’s definitely a locals hang out. We stopped in on a late Saturday afternoon and everyone who walked in after us seemed to know each other. They were all very welcoming to us though. Prices are great. 4 drinks was $17 before tip (dont forget to tip your bartenders!). The decor is really fun. Witty sayings and fun dive bar stuff that makes it unique. They have a small room off the regular bar area with a jukebox, tables and dartboards. Highly recommend if you want a fun Irish experience with decorative flare. Will return.

Cranky bartender, food was mediocre. We only had appetizers. Servers were nice. Kids running around everywhere. Im sure the atmosphere was more adult-focused after dark. Not impressed.

They make the best Reuben on the island! EVERYTIME I COME HERE THEY STILL HAVE THE BEST REUBEN! Get Salt & Vinegar chips, theyre better than the potato salad.The only downside is its kinda smokey, of course if you smoke youd love it.When we go, I say Lets get a smoky Reuben! Its our joke.

One of our favorite local galveston bars. Everyone is so welcoming and we absolutely love their sandwiches. Best bartenders you could ask for!!

My husband and I love this bar, its typically our last stop whenever were on a bar crawl because of its relaxing atmosphere. Its a great place have a beer and water and watch TV to unwind before heading back home. Very nice friendly staff and relaxing environment.Love it!

I love their sandwiches, great value for money. The Reuben is full of meat and sauerkraut, wonderful dill pickle and the option of a fabulous potato salad. For me, Its a bit dark inside, so I usually order to go and enjoy a superb lunch outside.

Nice bar with lots of memorabilia hanging all over. I enjoyed a cold tap beer. Friendly bartender.

Definitely a dive bar. They allow smoking inside, but its a charming place to grab a beer. The place has a sense of humor with funny signs posted around, and the bartender was very friendly. Bathrooms were clean, and the jukebox played great tunes. Id come back, for sure.

We love to go here because we can walk. The drinks are always good, the bartenders are awesome, and the food is amazing

It is A locals bar. And very cozy... Bar tender was great.. One of the few places that has food service late at night.. Christmas day I could not find a food place. They had potluck and invited my to partake. I will always stop in to pay homage to the patrons.

When it comes to Ruben sandwiches, this is my place. I have had Rubens in many places but none compare to OMalley. The atmosphere is kinda old world with an eclectic mix of local patrons and locals event goers from the adjacent Grand Opra house and tourist from the cruise ships. Smoking is allowed so if thats not your thing I suggest just ordering one to go.Being a local, I make a pilgrimage there once a month or so.

I love this place. Its my favorite place to drink on the island. I think the bartender I like the best is Shane? I could be wrong about the name he was great at his job. The other two Ive met were nice but didnt mix drinks or promote a great vibe like he did.

Food was simple but very good. Bar tender was friendly. Customers were very friendly. Not a smoker so that was a eeh..

Great neighborhood bar I go to while in town. Friendly and knowledgeable bartenders and the small town feel you look for when you are in paradise. Great patrons.Pool, darts, tables, and bar. Dont expect much though, its fairly small and can get packed or loud depending on the people.

Went down Saturday for Guinness, Reuben sandwiches, and to watch the Penn State game. Jenn took great care of us and the sandwich was wonderful! May make this a regular weekend haunt!

The service was slow and the waitress was a total jerk. On top of that, they falsified my tip information! I left a tip of $7 and she tried to change it to $17!! A huge battle with them and my bank ensued...

Best Lil pub in The Strand area... Actually on Post Office, this place is super cute and SUPER friendly! This is where its at baby!! Jen and Ben and Chris rock the bar with witty humor...but for the crown jewel of the place is Chris hot dog masterpieces. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Had a spaceship drop me off here for a bit while they found a new space captain. The local humans pretty boring, but the beer and chili dogs were great. Best bartender of all intergalactic road houses.

Great hole in the wall bar. Enjoyed the reasonably priced drinks and atmosphere. They do allow smoking indoors.

Fun local establishment ! Bartender has been there over 30 years! Small hidden but quant little place off the beaten path! No live music but its a place to visit and see what is going on around town. They have a full service bar. We would love to visit again.

Good vibes, pretty chill spot, to the girl in the black striped dress, I hope I see you again, and muster some courage. But until then, perfect place to BEAT CORY ALLEN IN DARTS. 12 bucks for 3 heavy drinks, I like. ;)

Super friendly, location has lots of character. It allows smoking... a nice glimpse at Galvestons history. My rating isnt critical. It is what it is and as such is totally enjoyable.

BEST RUBEN sandwich on the island.

One of the 3 major Irish pubs in downtown. This place has more of a local feel than any of the others which, if you know Galveston, can be a very good or bad thing. The bartenders know their stuff and they do it well. Great place to just get a beer or even an Irish car bomb if you are so inclined.

Ive been going here off & on for 20 + years, good place to just hang drink beer. Didnt eat this time, but use to have good sandwiches. This is my 3rd St Patricks Day there, fun.

First of all, I came for the cinco de mayo beer special that is clearly advertised on the wall. The bartender never refused to give me those prices, but she didnt offer them either. I was really upset. She also had really pretty hair. It was aggravating how pretty it was. I ordered a cocktail and the Turkey melt.The food was good, EXCEPT they placed a pickle on top of my chips and it made them soggy. Eww.The cocktail was pretty decent. It could have had one more cube of ice, but Im not trying to nit-pick. Everything was going great until I had to relieve myself in the bathroom. I have irritable bowel syndrome and the Turkey melt was running its course. I went to the bathroom and it was so tiny!!! The hand dryer is located too close to the commode and it kept going off while I was trying to relieve myself. I also think they need to fix their jukebox, it was broken and kept playing musicals. I mean, horrible songs from Annie, rocky horror picture show, and grease.Just kidding. This place is great, despite the horrible musicals. Haha. Andi is great!

This is obviously a smoking bar. The small almost knocked my wife and I over when we opened the door. Understand, I am a cigar smoker but only outdoors. It could be a great place but we will never know.

The sandwich was much better than I expected! Great bartender and drinks. Just put your music in the jukebox when u walk in the door!

I called to order a Frito pie at 1:06 the man said the kitchen Closed at 1:00 if the kitchen closed at 1:00 then they were still putting up food and stuff so obviously he closed the kitchen before one a.m. I told the man I had not eaten 2 days Im homeless and I was starving and I wanted to eat a Frito pie and I was right by there then he told me no

OMalleys is a pub. Its nice and dark and smokey, and you and all your friends can drink beers or mixed drinks or take shots. Plus, theres Frito pies and sandwiches, and an outside area for hanging out or drinking or smoking, too. Want to watch the game? Its definitely playing at OMalleys. Right across from the kung fu movies. Overall, A++ Its a downtown staple!

Good bar good craic but dont go in when the little barman with glasses is on should not be allowed in a bar let alone behind one.

I walked in here super drunk and did shots with this dude and his boyfriend who looked EXACTLY like that dude from No Country For Old Men. Based on that alone...5 stars.
