Room had mold and stains everywhere on the sheets and the couch. I couldn’t really stay since there was even mold all over the shower curtains. The lamps even had rust all over them. Insane that there was a $50 deposit, I don’t think we could’ve left the place in worse shape. Lady said no smoking but the sheets and covers had multiple burn holes.No pics because walked in, looked around and then left to find a sanitary place to sleep.
This hotel is bordering on disrepair - here’s why. Unsecured room door. Stains on the comforter. Mattress was thin and looked… well used. Bucket under the AC. And it stank.I was also put in a smoking room (not what I reserved).When I expressed this to staff, they laughed and said that’s why they put the room on booking sites or else ‘no one would want it’.They did not “log the complaint” with my booking service so I’ve gotten no development on a refund. I was out of this hotel within 20 minutes of showing up.
This place is nasty and Expensive , Wheres experience of my life. We got the cops called for asking them if they can give us a other room or fix the restroom and clean the room ( Front desk told us that he does not clean the rooms and he will not fix anything in the restroom and just kicked us out and they Changer a fee for 50 For any damages you do not get the money back they just want your money) I will not recommend staying at this place its better off going somewhere else hes called the cops more than one guest As we were staying here.We were the third person to get called because he didnt want to do anything and wanted Our money that we paid for the trip And no refunds on the money ,the room was so disgusting And the man was so rude arguing with me and my parents.....DO NOT BOOKED THIS HOTEL 🙏. The rooms were so disgusting it was never cleaned, there was hair all over the beds there was a do-rag underneath the refrigerator, the glass windows were not clean the mirrors were not clean they had Fingerprints all over them the restroom was broken the shower curtain was disgusting The shower was broken.
The service was good and they were kind. I would never stay here again though. I saw reviews that were either good or bad so it may depend on your room. Our room smelled of cigarettes, had a layer of dust the mattress was yellow and the bedding was full of cigarette burns. If I had my son with me I would have left. If the price of the room was only 40$ I probably would have not cared so much but we paid over 120$ for our room!!!
We entered the hotel 5 pm and by 530 pm where in another hotel. the hand towels looked like the had been used to shine shoes. The bedding had stains that looked as though a body had decomposed on them or kids had peed and pooped in the bed. although the had been washed the stains made them appear heavily soild. I started to pull the sheet to have it replaced and found a mattress without a cover that was breaking down and what looked like bed bugs.
I recently stayed here , the rooms were fair . There was a bucket under the AC due to it leaking, the fridge was broken and leaking water on the floor, when i went to let them know they said they were already aware of that. We got the fridge replaced thankfully. If you enjoy sleeping with bed bugs this hotel is perfect for you. Seeing as the first night sleeping in the bed I was constantly waking up due to something biting me , ended up waking up with multiple red bumps all over . There’s broken glass at the front entrance, just left there for anyone to step in or trip over. Over all do not come to this raggedy a** hotel unless you like bed bugs.
This place is a joke and scam. They are rude and obviously don’t like to help customers. They told us after 3 they would let us know if we could be checked in through fema and took our info. This was Thursday evening and remind you we NEVER got a call from them so we assumed it didn’t go through. Today we found a new hotel and they informed us we are checked in at another hotel. Remind you we never checked in anywhere or heard back from the island inn. Come to find out they been charging fema for a room we never knew we had and when we called them we got told call back when the owner is available! Stay away from these scammers
Disgusting. Do not let the photos of clean neatly furnished rooms fool you. I am embarrassed to admit that I even stayed here. Filthy furniture. Filthy linens. Sketchy location. I was instantly grossed out and did not even want to sleep under the covers. There were cigarette burns in the comforter. Yuck. As soon as I turned off the light to watch tv several roaches came out. The next morning there were bedbugs on the sheet. I should have read the reviews because I would never have gone through with renting from this place. I did so after the fact and saw everything about bedbugs and the denial of the owners so I didn’t bother complaining. I fled at 6:00 am as soon as I saw those bed bugs. I will be contacting the health department.
Terrible rooms and service. Back of toilet cover was missing and it moved when you sat on it, dirty showers, towels were covered in a hard yellow substance, sheets and pillows had brown stains all over it, had a bucket under the AC accumulating water and mold, and she claimed we smoked in the room with no proof (which we did not) and said she was reporting me to the cops and tried to keep my deposit. Terrible place needs to be shut down if you want to enjoy your vacation don’t go here.
I recently stayed at Island Inn by OYO Galveston and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The room had several issues, including missing or flickering lights, dirty shower, sheets, and blankets with cigarette holes, and leftover food in the fridge. Additionally, the bed was full size, not queen as advertised. The customer service was also subpar, with the staff refusing to discount the room despite its condition and insisting it was the best available. I was told to stay at the Marriott if I wanted a better experience and they cannot possibly clean after every customer as they are “very busy.” Overall, not worth the stay and would recommend booking elsewhere.
This place is trash and I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Place looks abandoned, staff not available, rooms dirty, you can see the wear and tear in the building, furniture and bedding. We had a smoking room and there were burn holes everywhere. Homeless people live on site. No security on premises and the place and tenants look sketchy. They make you put an additional security deposit down for the run down piece of junk room at check in which wasnt disclosed at booking. Dont do it dont stay here ever.
I recently parked at this Inn for a cruise, and I couldnt be happier with my experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, going above and beyond to help me out when my friend missed the cruise and needed to use my car. The paid parking for cruises was convenient and hassle-free, making the whole process smooth sailing. Highly recommend this place for anyone cruising from the area!
The shower water pressure was the only thing that was good about this place. Pictures are absolutely false representations of this motel. RUDE desk staff.Didnt have bugs, thank goodness, as others have said, (and we checked thoroughly), BUT, this place makes you feel dirty just being there. Its cheap for being so close to the beach, but thats it.Please believe the other bad reviews.
Nothing good to say. Infestation of bed bugs and roaches. Busted front door lock. Busted bathroom. Leaking sink with no hot water. And the tub had a sick scum film. The cleaning lady was rude. I pad almost 700$ for 10 days and absolutely left early

Owner threatened to call animal control for a service dog even though they have a pet policy. We didnt step foot in the room and went to another motel. He charged $828.97 when the room was supposed to be $744.43. We booked on line. We are extremely disappointed in the attitude and service of this place.
OYO Hotel chains as a whole are ALL TRASH. From their Individual Hotel chains and franchises to even their App that charged my credit card yet the transaction never got booked or processed....... (And still disputing this transaction [and wasnt a temp charge]) On top of their spam advertising from their app; I never really have stayed at one I really like, this place (Island Inn By OYO Galveston Beach, TX) takes the cake.Had a stay on 3/21 for work and the Indian lady was just rude. NO PROFESSIONALISM WHATSOEVER yet you own a business and taking customers...... Anyways, Lady has NO idea with a Paper ID from a Official State Agency looks like because I got the run around x1000 with this one. Not only that, they take my Money for my booking yet tell me I have to wait till 3 to check in. Mind you, they said their system says they cant do anything even AFTER they process payment. So how does a system not work when you are taking some ones cash and $50 deposit? Which I ALWAYS pay in Cash at these POS places BTW its only 2:30pm, not 12 or 1 for which I understand early check ins have some stipulations etc. Also weather was not that great. Come back at 3PM and the keys were just sitting there. NO hospitality whatsoever. Dont take ANYONES cash in person if they cant get a room then and there.ROOM was standard, could have been cleaner but it was passable.Leaving at roughly 6:15am when their lobby is supposed to be open at 6am SHARP I had to call a number to get service to check out and my $50 CASH Deposit back, takes the man 5 minutes just to get to the lobby to open the door. He finally comes dressed in a wife beater and pajamas (Again ZERO Professionalism) He goes and says he will check the room and he will be back, takes him 10 minutes to check a room thats directly above the lobby with the stairs just feet from the front desk. Go looking for him hes out there checking other stuff, yet im still waiting trying to leave to go to work. Everything turned out fine (as expected because what solo guy you know goes around destroying hotels.... SOLO, not 2 and 3 people.... It happens but, not like that) yet still takes forever to hand the deposit over. After several shouting words, I finally get my stuff 20 Minutes after I walk in. Ive spent money on all sorts of Hotels, 1 star to 5 and I say I NEVER had this much run around and bad service yet paid so little. But as they say, you get what you paid for.In conclusion, I really cant say anything that can give this place hope and the other 1-star reviews prove it. I hope my review steers people away from this place, spend the extra $20 and get better service. And force chumps like this out of business by not patronizing them. If I had to do it all over again, Id sleep in the car.
I went to make a reservation directly through the hotel website, and the reservation date was wrong, and I didn’t see that until the confirmation was sent to me and money was taken out of my account; I called the hotel they told me they could not change my reservation nor give me a refund. They told me to call a third-party company that they hired through their website to do reservations. I called the company and they would not change my reservation nor help me, nor give me a refund. Expressed that this was horrible customer service, and that I would never. Company again. I strongly suggest that you do not book with this hotel or the company they use to do their reservations they mess up reservations and they take money out of your account and then tell you they can’t change your reservation or give your refund.
So the room was OK but the bed was disgusting. My mom slept on the bed and had bites after, we found bed bugs later. And the bed had cigarettes burns. I honestly do not recommend this hotel sure it is cheap but never again.
Stayed here Jan 6, in room 205. This place was absolutely disgusting. There was roaches every where. Then there was cigarette burns in the sheets, I had to strip the bed and use my own blankets. And the door frame was falling apart letting cold air in. There was stains on all of our towels. They do not take care of this hotel. They do not care and only want money. They also don’t refund deposits.
Absolutely the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed. As soon as I entered the room. I was able to see stains on the sheets. The tv and microwave were not working. When I called the front desk to let them know I was told to use the lobby microwave as they knew the microwave didn’t work. The shower looked like it had not been scrubbed down in months. When asked to speak to customer service to address all my concerns I was told no one was available to assist or resolve any issue.
This is a budget inn. So keep those expectations in mind. In other words my expectations were not high. The customer service was decent until check out time. Very accommodating in the beginning. Bugs are in the rooms but mostly dead. You can see they treat for them so that is good. Upstairs bathroom leaked into our bathroom overnight and soaked the floor and toilet in yellow water. ramen noodles were left cooked in the microwave so we couldnt use it due to the mess and mold. We had taken pictures that morning to address it at the front office to only be treated like we were lying to get something for free (we hadnt asked for anything just notifying them) the husband removed the wife from the room due to irrational behavior and finished our check out.
Stayed here from June 5th to June 9th 2023 in Room 201. I agree with negative reviews as the place is so rundown and a battlefield of pests plus other terrible conditions. At least I came semi-prepared and only encountered roaches in the bathroom. No bed bugs but I think I was lucky because I accidentally spilled lemon juice on the bed during the first night.For those having no choice but to stay here, the nearby Randalls can be useful. Buy borax powder to repel roaches and lemon juice to deal against the bed bugs. You might as well disinfect the bed and drive out the pests yourself. Humble solutions from a guest that stayed in this rundown place.
Got into one room filled with roaches and the toilet wouldnt work. They moved us to another room which was nicer no roaches and everything worked 5 hrs later my wife and kids had bites on them. Found an adult bed bug on the pillow after looking seen a nest of babies on the box spring. Will never stay here again I recommend these guys getting shut down.
It was okay, but before I got here, I read many reviews about the bed bugs and roaches. It was true about the roach part the bed bugs not so much. I only ever saw one roach, but I went ahead and killed it myself. Unlike the other hotels, they dont come in and change the bags. Instead, you gotta do it yourself. I found that out when we were leaving, and we cleaned up a bit because we had to leave fast. There was some banging against some walls when I was trying to sleep, but overall, it wasnt as bad. I noticed they pathed up some holes in the bathroom. They could change the towels and bed sheets they still have stains and cigarette burns on it.
Room was dirty and beds weren’t made and toilet was not working!! And beds are extremely uncomfortable. Spend the extra money and just stay at a hotel. We checked our after 3 hours.
Ok, I tried to let everything slide because u was accepting that you get what you pay for. But this place is disgusting. Right when you walk in the lobby you smell mold, the room was humid and stunk like wet towels. Which by the way they made it seem like an inconvenience to give us more of because there were 5 of us and 2 towels. The toilet clogged and there was no one in the office to get a plunger so we went all night not using the toilet. And in the morning they gave us some weird pipe thing to unclog it. The sheets are so old and worn that they were rough to the touch. Like I said, budget hotel, budget experience. But this morning while we were getting ready we saw the roaches. I was good until the ROACHES. Do not stay here, I dont care what the price is, spring for something better. Id give zero stars if I could.
Rooms were filthy with bugs everywhere, the linens were filthy, toilets didnt flush, the microwave filthy, towels were hanging up dirty, I have never been so disgusted by a place.And within 5 minutes of getting my Rooms I returned to office to get my deposit back. I wasnt going to let my family stay in filth.They charged me 10 dollars from the deposit because we looked at the sheets and flushed the toilet.I have pictures and videos to back everything

DO NOT BOOK!!! Awful place, with awful management! My family decided to stay a extra day on our vacation so we book one night here. It was disgusting. They made me pay additional at checkin. They were so rude at checkin. The room was disgusting hair in the bed, bed sheets were disgusting and dirty. Hair in the tub. Toilet was not secure. The smell was awful to the point it kept me up. Bed was not comfortable. And the front door did not properly shut. Here is the kicker. We went to check out. My husband was loading the car. I walked around the building to turn in the key and check out. Before I could even walk back around to the building the manager was at my hotel room yelling at my kids to get out of the room. (They literally were walking out the door to get in the car). She was so rude. We knew this was a cheap hotel but this stay was absolutely ridiculous!!! 10/10 would not recommend!!!!
Stay at this hotel in Galveston for the weekend. Roaches,, water leaking from around the toilet, shower curtain moled, and my husband was bitten by Bedbugs. Complain to the gentleman upfront and he was so unconcerned about our concerns. Also at check-in after the room was paid for. He requested a deposit that was not refunded until the so called cleaning crew check the room for what Bugs. Sad that this place charge an excessive amount for filth. Close this place down!!!!!!!!! This hotel cant be Rated point blank!!!!! Galveston needs to re-analyze places like this for visitors. Nothing like the advertisement!!!!!!!!!
Im rating this hotel based on it being a budget hotel. This is not a fancy resort. Those are nearby if you are looking. If I was rating this based on true hotel experience, Id give it one star.We almost cancelled before checking in because the exterior looked depressing and sketcy. It was too late to cancel, so we stayed.We asked for a ground floor , and it was denied. Im a single mom who wasnt crazy about carrying things up a floor (no elevators).The swimming pool is literally a small 5-foot deep pool in the middle of a parking lot. Its not even adjacent to the inn; its between a bank and a dumpster. No shade. We passed.Pet fee is $15 per pet, per night.We had two bath towels and one face washcloth. I asked the front desk for one more bath towel and was told I can only get one if I returned a used towel. So I asked for a bath mat so I can save my precious bath towel, and fortunately, they gave me one. It felt very petty.Most of the residents seemed to be in the back of the hotel. It is facing an old cemetery (Rosewood Cemetery). That was our view. It is interesting because it is Galvestons first cemetery for black residents. Theres a historical plaque there.There were a couple of old mattresses and pieces of furniture on the side of the hotel. I guess they couldnt put it in the dumpster, the one next to the pool? Or they are trying to fix them???The room was clean and neat. I was looking for bed bugs and didnt see any. No phone. The dresser didnt open properly, so we kept everything in our suitcases. The AC worked and kept us cool. The shower was simple and good. The microwave and small refrigerator was clean. The beds were comfortable and clean.I feel bad because the person who checked me in was also housekeeping. This is run by a husband and wife team and maybe a daughter. Its a lot of work, and I sense they are struggling, so I really dont want to be too negative.Id go back only if its under $79 a night. I think its fair for the quality and close proximity to the beach and attractions. This is simply a place to crash for the night, in my opinion. I wouldnt want to stay longer than a weekend.
This is the worst hotel and customer service Ive ever experienced. Front desk was very pleasant until its time to retrieve the security deposit that they require and you have a complaint. My family and I stayed here in April and I am still waiting for my deposit and its July. After checking in, we noticed an SUV with the front window broken out of it in the parking lot. Once in our room, there were dead bugs on the floor near the mini- fridge and one live one on the wall. There wasnt a secure lock on the door and it looked as if someone kicked it in. The lady next door had visitors in and out all night long with long conversations and door slamming. We captured pictures and videos of live bed bugs that we were wakened by as we slept. After reporting the activities of bed bugs and bites on my daughter, we were changed to another room and it also had bed bugs. We had to call a friend and we stayed at their house over night. We called the hotel for a refund and was given the run around. Not safe at all.
So after reading all these reviews, I was apprehensive about staying here. I was anxious and ready for a terrible experience. When I checked in, the gentleman was very kind and hospitable and had a sense of humor. When I got to the room, there was no odor. There were no bugs. There was no mold in the fridge or microwave. The couch was a little rough, but it’s not the plaza, so what do you expect. The bed was comfy, the shower pressure amazing and the tv worked. Not bad for a quick cheap one night stay. I would stay again.
Awful experience! I found two dead bugs on “fresh” sheets and dirty hotel room. It smelled moldy and had cigarette burns all over sheets and Blanket! I requested a refund or new room and they gave us another room. The second room had many roaches, no hot water and the bathroom door did not open if you shut it. I was locked in the bathroom. The first room was 124 and the second was 114.
DO NOT STAY HERE. This was the absolute WORST hotel. They do not clean whatsoever. Had to buy several cleaning products just to clean up enough to use the sink. Woke up with floors with water. Disgusting bedsheets. Bugs and fleas all over the room. Tub was nasty, won’t even begin on the toilet. Bad smell. Went to complain to front desk along with several other guests and was denied refunds. Told us we couldn’t get a refund since we booked online while he told another guest that he couldn’t get his refund because he booked in person which makes no sense at all. They completely ignored our requests. Do not recommend and will never be returning.
The running toilet from the onset should have been a sign, but we were settled in and ready to enjoy our fathers day weekend. As we prepared for a day at the beach they do not provide ice buckets in the rooms but had to fill a bucket that is kept in the hotel lobby to get ice. Things only got worse. They came and fixed the toilet once, but after the initial flush it kept running until check out. We had to use the trash can, fill with water and use to flush the toilet. We asked for extra towels but had to turn the used ones in to get replacements. We also asked for a blanket and was given a blanket that was full of holes. As we settled in for the night on Saturday at 2 am we lied in bed and a roach was crawling on the ceiling, We could not watch tv since it didnt work and they didnt have a phone in the room. Sunday morning was check out and as we woke up we found a bed bug on my dads white sleep shirt. We attempted to explain what happened during out stay hoping the management and they were unapologetic and said if we were trying to get a refund that was definitely not going to happen. The daughter and her father were rude and made no attempt to do anything about our experience. We were trying to be reasonable, at least a discount or something. They outright refused and said we get what we paid for. I would NEVER recommend anyone to stay here, especially for what I paid. This was not a cheap stay and considering that I would think they would be more accomodating. Horrible room, and Horrible customer service.
May 31 2024.Everyone needs to know that this place is horrible!!!I just wish I had read the reviews before booking a room at theyre hotel.the sheets and blankets were filthy and daughter complained of feeling something crawling all over her and after checking her bed and ours we found either fleas or bed bugs .all I know was that there was no way I was going to stay .I had only been check in for 1 1/2 hrs and they refused to refund my money which was 450.00 dollars because I had booked a 3 night stay there, I luckily found a better place to stay but its wrong that I m out 450 dollars because they keep theyre room so nasty
I dont know how this place passes code! To top it off they charged a 50 deposit and I booked it non-refundable. Never did I think they even had hotels like this. Microwave had probably never been cleaned, Im not sure what was on the floor, you had to pull string on toilet for it to flush! Picture shown is after I bleached it. They should be ashamed of putting someone in a room like this! I would never recommend this place to anyone. Maybe to get shut down but never stay! Im traumatized for life after this hotel!!
Where do I start? Oh, service! This is a hospitality business, right? We rented from this place 1 room 2 beds (comfortable beds). But our room, I didnt know I was renting broken restroom tile that was a safety hazard (dont be barefooted or you could cut the bottom of your feet), the restroom door had a broken hinge at the bottom which nearly made it impossible to close the door, even after you got it closed passed the broken floor tile. And there was cigarette burns on one bed sheet and hair on the other bed, and just 2 bath towels. No face towels and missing a 3rd towel since there were 3 of us. So when we asked for more towels, uhhhh, they said we had towels already!! Yea, 2. But they knew we were 3 adults. And when asked for fresh towels, they said bring the used towels and we give you fresh ones in return. They dont have ROOM SERVICE! The door had locks, but gaps all around the door where the sun was LIGHTING US UP IN THE MORNING. And the pictures on the web site must have been before it was run down. The plus about this motel...........its literally walking distance to the beach. But we drove instead as we all knew we would be too drained to walk back to our room. Do I highly recommend??? NO. Too expensive for this not so hospitable business. But sometimes its the only place with vacancy on short notice 🤔 Wish they made a better effort to satisfy us, I would have rated it better. Quoted price changed but was still reasonable. No cups ice buckets or any extras. But the room was clean and in decent repair. If you want just the basics its not a bad stay. And the pool was nice to relax at when the beach got to be too much.
This is literally the worst place ever, it’s the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever been to and overpriced 182+ $50 deposit. It has a very bad smell. Toilet, bedsheets,pillows,sink, everything was dirty. My husband and I could not last the entire night in the room it smelled really bad and I’m pregnant, we left 2 hours after getting there. The old guy did not want to give us our deposit back and got mad when I told him everything was dirty. He ended up just giving us our $50 deposit back. I would never recommend this place.
Wow! Where to begin? 1st. No early check-in only at thier convenience it costs $20 before 4pm even if 15 minutes till. With more than enough obvious availability of readily available rooms i still had to wait supposedly to get an upstairs room cleaned while continuing to explain my handicap for needing a downstairs room without need for stairs at the given time. I was rudely declined then had continuing to wait over 30 minutes past check-in for cleaned room.On the Website with booking its a $15.00 a night for pets theyve exceedingly overcharged $ 10.00 costing $ 25.00 for a night. But, still this isnt the truth nature of complaint just leading to worsening conditions, and poorly used purposes of miscommunication where there was none ( i understood all very well) exception on the behalf of management/owners conveniences of brushing off complaints to no adue said dated compliance.Let me say the LOCATION is the selling point! Right off 61st street a couple blocks from the beach if that distance. So LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!!If you are able to withstand a huge problem with roaches ...Id wish it were just that. No sooner did I get semi unpacked bought snacks/drinks from the front desk attendant whom hadnt the experience or authority to add additional nights ( thank goodness) Id have to return. Ok ok okBesides the worst case of BED BUGS Id ever experienced with video footage to add ...showing the Man at the front desk only to him insult my intelligence saying that those on the video are only bugs lol YES THEY ARE HUGS I SAID BEDBUGS...showing area of bites complaining i couldnt get the front desk to answer the office phone number provided until freezing going down to the locked door to the lobby no phone no pen no paper...to only find another number taped to the entrance door ....long story...Management said I was going to be receiving a full refund including my $50 refundable deposit plus charges for the inconvenience when finally admitted bedbugs and showing the exterminator log of information supporting facts to my video footage. He was so angry Id called out, and proved myself accurate he gave me 20 minutes to check out which I did immediately we walked the room all was in satisfaction check out complete then REFUSED to give a professional receipt of reimbursement of even returning my $50 refundable deposit. Im still on December 16th 2023 am trying to access my promises of funds returnable after 7 business working days its past that not to mention the same liar is trying to make my banking institution at fault saying all was refunded back to bank account the following business day that is also another LIE. DONT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE MINGLING WITH HUGE BEDBUGS being patronized, insulted, and RIPPED OFF, lied to right in your face! These people are scamming fiduciaries in full knowledgement of unsanitary, uninhabitable, and unhealthy conditions just to get the American Dream...Money.Just sad.P

So me and my fiancé decided to book a quick hotel as soon as we arrived we noticed the lobby was filthy but we just needed one night.. booking in we had to pay a additional 50 dollars for a deposit when we was given the room we noticed it was filthy but we tried looking past it for one night we woke up @4 to itching and BOOM bed bugs everywhere we literally only slept 2 hours RUN! Room number was 206
Price is to high for a room!! even it being low budget i dont care !!never again will i ever stay here .worst place i ever been . paid for a non-smoking room because of my baby & end up in a room that smelled all like smoke !!! The restroom tub was nasty and dirty!! There was dead roaches & The Ac kept cool but the unit was so dirty dusty they dont clean it!! experience was horrible !! not worth the money !
Worst place ever. Room smells like ashtray. Roaches it may be budget but after they keep your deposit and refuse to refund it your gonna pay same price of some were nice. Lets start soon as I walked in to check in the lady in front was sooooo rude and disrespectful. Also they charge all kinds fees, you need check in before 3pm she charges you a fee, i needed check in at 12 and she charged me 20.00 more. pet fee is 15.00 per night per dog. Then there is a 50.00 deposit and you wont get it back.The people running this place cant count money and will rip you off. When you take dirty stuff to them to get clean ones they charge you for them and say we take this from your deposit and still try to keep the items. And wont tell you how much it cost. Also they make it a big deal when you ask for their thin trash bags to take out your trash. Also they have bugs everywhere. Also the mattress has holes in them and they are old. Last night we stayed there we got in my car go get coffee cause this motel dont have any in rooms or in a lobby, cause they dont have any lobby. And someone got my gas cap during middle night. And my car has a screen on it so you cant steal it and it looked like they was trying get gas but couldnt.If I wasnt 5 hours from home then I would leave but again you get what u pay for and they know what they are doing. This place needs to be closed down and be cleared out and redone. But also they need to find someone else to do the check in that lady needs to go. No second chance at all. She is a big problem. And whoever cleans needs to be talk to also cause if you look under beds there is hair and all kinds stuff. Also if you take a wash rag and wipe floor you can tell they dont clean floors at all. I had to clean my room before we could even walk in. This motel is in the right place only if it gets closed down to be redone. Dont go here to give these people any money. Dont chance it.
When we arrived we had to ask for q new comforter as We were in a non smoking room and it was full of cigarette burn holes and stains. Also the furniture is falling apart. We werent in the room more than an hour and had made our dinner. Our food was sitting on top of the microwave and roaches started coming out of it. We packed our belongings back up immediately and asked for a refund after taking pictures. The owners denied anything wrong and went to the room to remove the evidence of the one we killed. And are refusing to give a refund for even the deposit which is suppose to be refunded after your stay as long as everything was good. We barely had sat on the bed at this point.
A nice, simple place to spend the night. After reading some of the reviews I was very apprehensive to stay here. About the smell, it did stink a little at first. But some air fresheners took care of that. The 4th star is earned by being the only hotel on the island (that we could find) that accepted pets without a 75-dollar pet fee. (it was only 15 dollars). Please pay no attention to the bed bug 🐜 reviews, I did not have one big bite. The place is a little outdated and rough around the edges, and could use a little repair, but its ok. The pool was locked, so I didnt experience that, but it looked ok. The microwave worked and looked brand new. The refrigerator was a little rusty and wasnt as cold as it should have been in my opinion. And plus, how are you going to get a hotel within walking distance from the beach, Walmart, gas stations, and countless restaurants for so cheap?
We got a room upstairs 203 and the fridge and microwave had grease on it.. mold in fridge. Stains on both beds. So they gave us another room 110. It had a king bed which was laying on the floor. The sofa in the room had so many stains. The chairs has stains and food in the seems. There were no phones or towels .. air conditioner was propped up by a 5 gallon bucket.. it was so nasty I wouldn’t even let my dog sleep there. If you planning on coming her DONT!
Friendly staff nice big clean rooms, swimming pool,,nice clean lobby snacks and necessities sold @ front desk fair prices $1canned drinks, smoking and non smoking rooms
The location is good, 3 minutes walk to the beach, Kroger and Walmart are close. The staff was friendly and kind.DURTY! There was mold in the bathroom, very dirty air conditioner (also looked like black mold), the floor was unwashed and we found bed bugs in the bed.There is no place to put your wet clothes after the beach.
Way overpriced considering the shabby conditions. I meant to take pics to post but was too tired. Door adjoining the next room had no door knob only electrical tape over the hole! The door and door frame were damaged so bad they were basically just for cosmetic purposes. Mattress was hideous and bedding so nasty we used our own bedding and pillows from home. Bathtub was dirty and had cigarette burns all over the edge. No towels in the room and the towels we got from the office were stained so bad we really hated to have to use them but they smelled fairly clean so we chanced it. If covid or a compromised immune system and cleanliness is a concern for you this is NOT the place for you. Also if your safety is a concern like maybe you are vulnerable in some way this is NOT the place for you. These people should be ashamed to charge so much for so very little.
One of the most dangerous location around Galveston. Locked me out of room for $15.00 Called my mental challenged nephew stupid when he begged to unlock door for his insulin. @ 700pm had him crying on vacation for his birthday over $15.00. Whoever is working makes up charges as they go. One of the workers Called the cops bc I requested clean towels. My neighbor truck got all 4 tires slashed and back window bursted. Was charged x4 times @ 365.00, 265.00, 101.00, 115.00 for 4 nights. Had to call my bank and pay extra to stop them from continuing to charge me care as they pleased.Stay far far away
Absolutely horrible. I dont even want to give it one star. We had a reservation so you would think it would have been cleaner. The bedding had cigarette burns and stains and it was a no smoking room. The couch and chair were stained and dirty. The door had cracks all around it. Ac didnt work that great. The price was listed at $147 but it was actually close to $300. Its listed as pet friendly but if you leave your pets theyll call animal control. The microwave was not very clean. The whole room wasnt very clean. We checked out within 2 hours without a refund and drove the 2 and a half hours back home. It looks nothing like the pictures online. Save yourself the time and money and dont book here.

((BED BUGS ))This place IS HORRIBLE. THEY ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE . Mean, attitude, rude. Im still trying to get my money back. The mattress dont look like mattresses. They are chewed up. One room had bed bugs everywhere. One room smelled like cigs so bad . And another room had no mattress and they thought we were lying. The manager was rushing us out so fast after we told him there was bed bugs . He was practically throwing our stuff . And I have kids and we cant get out so fast like he wanted . It was horrible experience.
We came in and the room had a very bad smell and the sheets on the bed had stains and cigarette burns. There were cockroaches all over the place and the bed had bedbugs. Customer service was very bad and they accused us of stealing their towels when there werent any towels in the room. I do not recommend island inn for anybody. It should be better for the price.
If you like roaches in your microw, stained furniture and a nasty environment this is the place for you. I am fancy NO means !!!! But for a $150 one night stay this is the bottom of the barrel. I wouldn’t waste your money or your time ! Disgusting ! And even checking in looking at the room, walking out it is a week / weekly process to get your funds back. Please save yourself , your bank account and your family from this place! Don’t stay here !
NEVER STAY THERE!!! This was the most disgusting motel I have ever been in (less than 5 minutes). There were roaches in the sheets, stains on all soft surfaces, moldy lampshades, and broken flooring. The front desk will act shocked when you tell them and then call more employees up to act shocked. They also charge a deposit on top of online price. Getting a refund is very difficult and then they may charge you again and say you no showed.
We do NOT recommend this motel. The rooms online are a complete lie. This was the absolute worst experience we have ever had. We were called multiple times before check-in and then threatened by text to call within 30 minutes after receipt or they would cancel our room. We were overcharged, rooms were filthy, had roaches, cracked floors and the property literally had trash everywhere. We will not be staying here again.
The only thing this place kinda works for them is location. OTHERWISE this place is absolute trash. I would NOT recommend staying here at all. Room was nasty and smelly. The tiles on the floors were literally coming off, you could see the concrete that was broken and coming up as well. The beds were uncomfortable and had many bodily fluid stains on them. One comforter had blood on it.When we arrived at the property we were told we had to pay a $50 nightly deposit. This was not listed ANYWHERE when booking ahead of time online.We stayed one of our two nights just because it was so nasty we wouldnt stay again. On top of all of that my vehicle was vandalized during the night while we slept. Sticky mouse traps were stuck onto my Jeep. When mentioned to management because they have LOTS of cameras to review the footage and find them we were told that is NOT their problem and they would not be helping me find the person.This place should be CLOSED down honestly. Run down and the type of customers it attracts is just what you get.
This hotel is very nasty and gross the room we had got was a non-smoking room and the beds had cigarettes burns and the sheets and top blanket had body fluids and the owner tried to say it was bleach but there was no bleach stain and the couches had black stains all over it the restroom was nasty the shower had little pieces of grey debri over it and the towels in the restroom were filthy and not white with black marks on them and the AC didn’t work very well. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND !!
Horrible. We were here for maybe 10 minutes before we saw roaches. The blankets had cigarette burns (nonsmoking room) the mattress had stains, the microwave was disgusting, the bathroom was nasty and no hand soap of any kind. We left right away. No refund was giving. I only took a few pictures because I had to get out of there!
There were pros and cons to this hotel.Cons:Based off of the reviews, I knew that this hotel was going to be the kind of place that you bring your own sheets to. And I was correct in that assumption.I arrive at midnight and saw the clerk cleaning the sheets. I thought, that’s awesome! Maybe the reviews were old and they cleaned up their act. The outside looked ok from what we could see at night.I walked into my room. The light switch didn’t work. I looked for another switch. That one was out too! Finally I found a switch in the bathroom that worked…and when I turned on the lights….5 or 6 cockroaches started to scatter and hide underneath the floorboards.Ok. The reviews said they’re would be roaches…I just didn’t expect to see them with 30 seconds after entering the room!I went to use the toilet and OMG! The seat was covered in black marks/stains. I think Walmart sells toilet seats for only $10.I asked the clerk to make sure I received a non smoking room. And he delivered. However… the dirty comforter was covered in cigarette burn marks/holes and stains!!! 🤢 and the blanket in between the dirty comforter and the clean sheets looked like it hadn’t been washed in a long time. And IF it was clean, it was so stained that it needed to be set on fire.I asked the clerk to be on the first floor because our dog is scared of stairs and he told me that he could do the that….but he didn’t. I think this was due to a language barrier. His English was not so good.Pros:the room was mostly renovated.-New hard floors (fake wood)-new counter and sink.Walking distance to the beach, stores, and restaurantsPet friendlyIf you go, consider bringing your own pillows and sheets and lots of Lysol. You might want to keep your luggage in the car so roaches don’t get inside of it and come home with you.
My husband and I stayed here on December 1,2022. First off the woman at front desk was rude. Then the room had stained sheets and roaches. When we checked out to get our deposit back. She said we spilled blood on the sheets. We went to the room with her to look. It was little pieces of chocolate I ate in the bed. She said she had to charge me $10 for the stains. They dont wash or change the sheets when people check out. I paid $35 for one night and I will not do it again. You get what you paid for. Dont stay here find somewhere else to go too. There is no room phone either.
There were pool bottles on the ground. The hotel in sketchy and held unsafe. There was a hole drilled in the bathroom that was pointed the toilets and bathtub, like there was a camera in there, and you just got the feeling that you were being watched. They sprung an additional $50 deposit on us upon arrival, that had not been previously disclosed to me. Deluxe room, with a king bed, that are depicted on the website, are NOT the room you will be getting.
The rooms were all nasty, had to switch rooms 3 times. First room had a broken sink, everytime I used it, water poured out the pipes. And their was stains on beds. The 2nd room I was taken too had black mold inside the toilet with cardboard, when we approach the man about the situation, he then started to ask if I wanted a plunger to fix the problem. I told him to switch me into another room because we had a baby and women staying. He took me to the 3rd room and the door didn’t want to shut we had to use our key card to unlock and twist the Door to lock. Inside one of the bed had a spot in the middle of the bed. And their mini refrigerator were all rusted, when I opened the door the rust fell out. Worst place ever… don’t suggest staying here at all. The pictures posted for advertisement don’t look like the rooms now. Horrible rooms.
Not clean and asked for non smoking, room stunk of cigarette smoke , service not very friendly, hair on pillow cases, no wifi was provided, no phone in room to contact front desk for any assistance, tire was slashed during night. would not recommend this hotel at all.
I needed a place to stay overnight for my kids and I. Stepped into the room and it smelled like urine. I used my car freshener and sprayed the room. Roaches and bugs started appearing. I called maintenance to come and spray. Within the next hour, more roaches started crawling on the wall from where it was sprayed. We immediately left this place. I did not request a refund because the owner can take that money and try to repair the hole in the ceiling that was stuffed with paper! I did not want to give this place 1 rating but I had to choose something.
The room and bathroom were dirty. Use empty toilet paper rolls on the floor. 1 bath towel for 4 people. Im glad I brought extras. Microwave did not work AND roach droppings in it.! NO ELECTRICITY! thru out the night. It started raining and I woke up to a puddle of water on the floor.....the ceiling had a hole and water was dripping into the room. It was dark in, we had to use our cell phones to get to the bathroom.
This place has gone down. I wish i had taken pictures. I guess they are under new management. After I paid online they asked for more money at arrival for a deposit. She said the deposit would be returned to my credit card after we checked out. Never got it back. I know we didnt cause any damage to the room. The front door looked like it was kicked in and the bathroom door also had a hole like someone punched their way in. Saw a roach and a silverfish in the bathroom at night and the toilet water ran all night. I am glad I only stayed there one night. Never again!
The room was horrible. Beds are not comfortable at all unless you like hard mattresses, cigarette burns in the sheets. The pillows are yellow with sweat stains, you could tell they used to be white pillows. The refrigerator was turned off when we got there and it smelled so bad when we opened the fridge, even though it was empty. The a/c unit in the wall had two by fours holding it up and a big bucket underneath it. There was no coffee machine in the room, floors were not swept. The office also had a horrible smell to it. I would not recommend this hotel unless you are really pinching your pennies. The price was not as bad as all of the other ones around the area.
I dont give this place a star at all . Had to deal with people breaking in rooms , pushing ac unit in so he could get in the a room. The place had dog hair all through out the room . Microwave didnt work , mold everywhere. . Stained up towels.Poor management , didnt want to do anything about the guy trying to break in . But that got took care of by the Galveston Island Police. This was the most disgusting motel I have ever stayed at! We had to get our own bedding due to stains and cig burns . Front deck old man rude and hard to understand. Food left in fridge microwave dirty inside illegal parafanlia left in drawer we didnt even want to take our shoes off. Oh and to the Owner, dont bother apologizing cuz you know nothing will change. Im surprised this place has not been shut down !!!!!
The room was run down, dirty, and tv didn’t work. Sheets were dirty and when we asked the front desk for clean sheets he began to argue and was extremely rude. The towels were also dirty and we were limited to 1 washcloth. I will not stay here again and recommend you avoid as well.
Several LARGE moldy stains on ceiling of first room 115 which we know is against code and can cause respiratory infection. Very dirty towels as though they were never washed—very unsanitary. Glad I brought my own. Worried about bedbugs after many complaints - will have to inspect my stuff. TV did not work and was missing a remote and cable cord attachments disconnected-cannot even use buttons on TV to select any channel. Too tired to change rooms again after moldy fiasco. No coffeemaker, ice bin, Kleenex box, hair dryer, and while other motels/hotels offer two soaps we had just one flimsy soap to use and had to clean tub. Microwave does not work (light turns on and rotates but nothing gets hot after multiple attempts). I had documentation of service dog for my mother by medical professionals and was never charged by any apartments or hotels we stayed in that are aware of ADA guidelines. Older front desk representative continued to insist we pay the pet fee until I asked his name and then he backed off. Everything just smelled - giveaway that cleaning service is not trained is they roll a stolen grocery cart around the premises. I have stayed internationally and locally in cheaper places - hands down the worst and waste of the nearly $80 bill we were charged.
I am being generous to give this location a star at all. We have stayed in hotels frequently for travel and business. This is the worst hotel we have ever encountered!! Absolutely filthy the sheets were not changed and had stains, hair, and makeup on them. I had to walk down to the main desk to ask for clean sheets and my husband and I had to change them ourselves! The bathrooms had mold and buildup all along the walls, toilet, and bathtub. They provided 2 towels for a double queen bed room (4 people). When we requested more towels we were told that we would have to return the ones given before they gave us any more. I have never stayed in a hotel with such low standards of care and they were over priced at $214 a night!!! Absolutely ridiculous and disgusting!
When I got there to check in the lady at the counter was a bit rude.Then I opened the door to my room and there was ants coming from outside to inside room to eat a cricket.I experienced a few bugs in the room.I will never go there again.
It is close to the seawall and within walking distance from almost anything you can think of Walmart, Kroger, gas station and much more. But the motel itself is lacking in the maintenance department. The rooms need a major overhaul and no nice way to put it but they need a whole new housekeeping department because its just not up to par. But hey you can walk to MC Donalds!
This place isnt even worth the one star, I had to select it in order to leave a review! They couldnt find our reservation with Booking.com They put us in a dirty room! We had to make them clean it and they still put stained sheets on the bed. Old food was left in the fridge, the floors were not cleaned. The TV didnt work properly, you could turn the volume up but not down. As for pets, they need to state that they DO charge for pets not charges may apply. The female manager did not want to give the deposit right away, said they would inspect when they cleaned the room because pets sleep on the beds and make a mess. Since we had so many problems from the start, we made them come inspect the room before we left and give the deposit back. You would think that with all the COVID-19 they would go above and beyond to keep everything clean and sanitized. DO NOT stay here!!
Terrible service! Rooms filthy! Stopped here to stay the night before our cruise. There were stains on the bed and pillow cases. Kids walked/played on the floor, exposed skin turned black. Went to ask for our money back and they called us liars. They went to the room and tried changing the bedding so it looked like we lied. Went to another hotel and they agreed. They said this place was disgusting! No matter how cheap it is, its not worth it!
We stayed 2 days last year and again this year loved it. Think this place is under-rated. It is close to the beach, restaurants, & walmart. The rooms are spacious but this year the beds were springy. Couldnt feel them but if you moved you could hear them. 1 start taken for service cause the front desk employee wasnt welcoming, Just felt like I was bothering.
This hotel is absolute trash. The sheets, blankets and towels were stained and had holes.The lady was rude and they wont clean your room at all while staying there.There was also roaches.They didnt even clean beforehand because the floors were dirty.The owners just take advantage of their location and they charge more than any nice hotel there.We was only there because it was our only choice because we got up there late and they was the only one available. It was a horrible stay in the hotel and I would not recommend the place to anyone, I would say go ANYWHERE ELSE.

I CHECKED IN ON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 22,2023 AND WHEN I WOKE UP SATURDAY MORNING SEPTEMBER 23,2023 MY FACE WAS SWOLLEN AND MY RIGHT EYE WAS ALMOST SHUT, WE WENT TO THE FRONT DESK TO COMPLAIN ABOUT US SEEING BED BUGS CRAWLING ON THE BED AND I GOT BITTEN UP, HE SAID THAT HE WOULD REFUND MY ONE NIGHT STAY AND REFUND MY DEPOSIT ITS BEEN ALMOST A WEEK AND THE BOOKING AGENT CAN NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH THIS LOCATION AND HE HAS NOT REFUNDED MY $50 DEPOSIT NOR MY INE NIGHT STAY. I ENDED UP GOING TO THE URGENT CARE CENTER AND WAS TOLD I HAD A SEVERE EYE INFECTION AND WAS GIVEN ANTIBIOTICS AND I ENDED UP MISSING WORK BECAUSE OF THIS. THIS ROOM WAS NASTY AND THEY HAD A BUCKET UNDER THE AC TO CATCH THE DRIPPING WATER AND HE SAID IT WAS MY FAULT BECAUSE IT WAS SOMETHING IN THE AIR OUTSIDE OR SOMETHING I ATE. WHEN I CHECKED IN THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY FACE. I got my refund for early check out but they never sent me refund for my deposit. The company is trash just like the owners.
After reading reviews about this hotel I decided I would bring my own sheets, blankets, bed covers and pillows/cases. As well as air fresheners, bug spray, my own cups and even my whole coffee pot. I’m young and can’t afford some super nice hotel so I made the best with what I got.When I arrived:The man behind the counter was smiling, nice, and joking with us. We asked for a room closest to the beach and he told us he’d already put us in one! (And he really did put us in the room directly facing the short road leading to the beach)When we got to our room: We expected a smell because of what other reviews said. There was NO smell. We turned on the AC and it worked wonderfully from then until the end of our 5 day stay. We took off the bed covers/sheets and checked the mattress as well as underneath it. It was clean and there were no bugs! I did find a dead bug in the drawer under the TV, but it was DEAD. That’s all I care about. I never saw any bugs -dead or alive - after that, and I stayed here for 5 days. I never got to use my bug spray! We had hot water the entire time we were here. The TV worked! And they have DirectTV!No coffee in the rooms so bring your own like I did 😉They brought 2 clean towels, bath products, and toilet paper to us every morning and asked for our trash. They were outside cleaning the parking lot and the walkways every morning.We had one, I repeat ONE issue with the door that required them coming out the next morning to fix. But they let us use an actual key to open the door if we needed it until the next morning. After that we were fine. We really loved how close to the beach we were and there weren’t many people around so my sister and I felt comfortable sitting outside at night (from the top floor) and enjoying the birds and the breeze without any worries. If you’re worried about getting a bad room then I’ll help you out. Room 218 has been checked and approved by me! I felt like we got a great deal with the price we paid!
Walked and immediately bed bugs and roaches. There was black mold on the floor as well. The guy said hed refund it then after we left got an email saying the cancellation price was the same as the price for the whole stay. Had to dispute with my credit card. Had to go stay at another hotel. Oyo corporate will not do anything to assist and the front desk person was obviously not help.
Room 115 (King bed, non-smoking): She said that she was gonna put us in room 115 because its their good room. Do they only have one good room? So, first thing we noticed was that the comforter had stains on it. The bed sank down in the center and there was no way possible to sleep on the side. The pillows were thin, bring your own. They didnt refill the toilet paper after the first night but they did bring towels without asking. The frig and microwave both worked properly. They had DirectTV and good movie channels. The room had a love seat and coffee table and that was a nice spot. It was hot in there when we first arrived because the AC was off. Once we turned it on and it had time to cool down the space, it was a COLD AC. Overall, it was fairly clean.
All I have to say is BED BUGS!!! Stay away, not worth it. Shouldve checked before I carried all our stuff in, but after I did, I checked under the mattress kuz I just had a feeling and sure enough, a bed bug was chillin under it waiting for us. We left the hotel and went to a better one. Dont waste ur time here. Employees were nice, but that doesnt make it ok to stay, bed bugs is where I draw the line.
Stayed about 2 weeks ago. Not bad for the price. I had no problems with my room. It was clean no bugs . Staff was friendly. Very well lit up up at night. I could see the beach from my room And my room was quite. Yes its an older motel and could use updating.
No wash cloths, no light bulbs, no blanket and a $50 deposit! What a joke! Not to mention 1 bath towel for 2 adults. We booked a non smoking room but was knocked down by cigarette smoke smell when we walked in.
For the room price the stay was a good value. But improvements are needed to enhance guests stays. We found cigarette butts in the sink drain spreading horrible odors. Also the coffee machine was dirty with dead spiders in it. The entrance door missed the room number plate and looked real shabby . All this could be easily fixed with a little attention to details by employees.
This place should be taken down and the manager and staff should be arrested. Not only is it a nasty hotel but the staff are rude and the manager a liar scammer. I booked a hotel with this people and when I arrived the incompetent staff told me he could not check me in I needed to leave and call to get my money back. When I called the manager refused to give the money back. The place looked disgusting in person . Do not come here do not expose your family to this kind of places. Stat away from this hotel. They will steal your money or put you in the worst Inn I have ever seen. picrures are deceiving it does not look nice at allNo this place is a scam
I have to say, it was the only time Ive ever stayed somewhere where there was already soap laid out under the bed. There was already complementary trash in the trash cans. Floors were already dirtied up for us and there was dog hair everywhere. We asked for our room to be cleaned and they also took our dirty towels to be washed... Never brought them back, nor did they sweep or mop. Had to go and ask for the clean towels. Overall the stay was okay but definitely not worth $198 we paid for the 2 nights that we stayed.
We had to get a hotel last minute and this was all that was available. Pictures looked decent but are not reality. The bedspread looked like someone had been chewing on it and there was old food in the mini fridge.
Paid $201.00 for one night/ one room with two queen beds. Non smoking room smelled like smoke. Teenagers next door partied and were loud. Bed bugs attacked my children. When I turned on the light they were swarming. Asked to be moved and was given a key to a room with large blood spots all over the sheets and bedspread. Both rooms were not very clean. Ended up leaving at 3am and sleeping in our car. This is a terrible hotel. Stay here at your own risk. Now my car could also be infected with bed bugs since our room had such a bad infestation. So angry.
Their rooms and accommodations may be a bit lacking compared to those around them, but honestly you can’t beat the price for a straight walk to the beach. this is a great place for the value, and let’s face it, ur going to the beach, how nice of a room do you really need? all your gonna do is sleep in it.
Worst hotel I have seen! They tried us in 2 different rooms and in less than 20 mins we had to get a refund. Both rooms were terrible and smelled horrible! The first room had water all in the floor and a cracked mirror. The 2nd room did not have a door knob in the door that separates my room from the neighbor, the toilet was a complete joke, the blankets on the bed had holes all in them and stains, the towels were so reused they were grey and old, the couch was old and worn out so bad that we were scared to sit on it. The front desk tried to make me switch rooms for a 3rd time but at this point I doubt they had anything better...We had to get a refund and go find another hotel! I would not even waste my time with this place. The pictures they have posted have got to be from when it was all first built.
I have stayed there before, But this time was bad. The mattress where setting on floor and the room stunk. there was holes in bath room door and it would not shut properly. There appeared to be child handy work on wall of closet. And luggage stand was missing most of the straps to make it sturdy enough to use.The staff was the best part. Very nice and made good coffee and brought us extra towels when we asked.
Worst customer service ever. The room was horrible, I thought I was going to fall through the floor in the bathroom every time I entered. Towels full of holes, sheets and blanket looked like they hadnt been washed in months. Just a horrible experience over all. Im sure I could go on and on but choose not to.
Employee at front desk allowed us to check in an hour early only to find no bedding on the bed and the bathroom was still dirty. I immediately discussed it with the front desk employee and told him we were heading to the beach and he said hed have it taken care of while we were gone. When we got back later that evening the room had been completely cleaned and bedding was on the bed. Also we had issues locking the dead bolt on the room door as a result of the door being off centered a little, but was able to lock it by pulling up on the door while locking it. Exterior of the building could use some remodeling for sure. The motel is decent considering its rate is slightly lower than most. Not the best motel 6 Ive stayed at but definitely not there worse motel Ive stayed in. Thank you for your business.
Room was dirty when we got here. Cleaned it up myself. Smelled awful. Asked for clean towels number of times and never would bring them. We had to take out our own trash. Pool was gross and had electricity wires hanging in from the pool light. I do not recommend alstaying here. Way over priced !!!!!
Sheets had holes and thin areas on them,didnt look clean with dirty marks,pillow case had red lip stick on it.... bathroom door wouldnt close with only one wash rag and towel in a 2 queen bed room and the towel was old with dirty marks on it. The floors are gross, nothing was clean finger prints everywhere. To much for a one night stay especially as gross as that hotel is! Ive stayed in better hotels in the hood in Dallas.....
High demand weekend so prices were doubled. But to be expected. Room cleaning forgot to replace toilet paper or towels but front desk was friendly and helped immediately resolved. Room was clean. Bed was not luxury but was not as bad as I was fearing it could be. I slept well. No blanket on bed so got cold in middle of the night. I bought a cheap blanket for second night. Microwave and fridge was nice amenity. Hot water was HOT. Its a Motel 6. Im not expecting it to be a Marriot. Room was large. I requested first floor and they saved one for me. Thank you.
I dont even know where to start with this one. Avoid this place at all costs because not only do they charge a ridiculous amount for a horrible room but they charge you an extra 25 bucks when you check in. I wasnt expecting the Hilton but was for sure not expecting it to be worse than the motel 8 down the road. It is severely in need of maintenance, the sheets had large stains, the box spring on one of the beds was broken, and only the entry light worked in the room. The cost is beyond unreasonable for what you get. The only saving grace was the girl that checked us in was very polite and the beach is just down the street.
Disgusting. Room was dirty, sheets had stains, dead roaches in the refrigerator, blanket cheap and uncomfortable, and the room smells like must. The phones in the entire building dont work. The general manager is extremely rude and does not accommodate when the room is unacceptable. The girl at the front desk looks 12 years-old and like she should not even be legally working. Spend your money elsewhere. Better hotels to stay at that may cost a bit more but well worth it. If I could rate negative stars I would. I already called corporate to complain and will be following up with them. This location is unacceptable and the Galveston city ordinance will be notified.
The stay was awful. I have stayed at this location several times but Ill never return after this past one. First thing that went wrong was when I was taking my luggage up the stairs my pants, bags and shoes got covered in paint. Next we get into our room (requested non smoking) and it smelled so badly of old stale cigarettes. We call the office to let them know of this issue. The manager/owner I believe comes up and looks at my paint covered items and then began sniffing the air like he couldnt smell the anything. After saying this is obviously a smoking room we arent staying in it he offered to show us another room. Every thing is fine with that room besides it being cleaned at that time which wasnt a problem so we left for the day and spend it on the beach. Returning that night I go to take a shower and there is half a roll of toilet paper and no towels wash cloths or anything. We call the office again and get a response of well I dont see any here. After stating we paid for a room and the website states you offer towels along with other amenities the agreed to go look. When we asked about what would be done about my items ruined by the paint the manger/owner then stated he couldnt control what others did (his employees removing the caution tape to the stairwell) so he wasnt going to do anything. I have never been so angry with lack of business ethics in my life.
Came in to room and smelt like death.The sheets on the beds were so nasty and worn we had to hit Walmart to get new ones.The Ac worked great the plase is a dump but was the only place vacant. Now we know why!!! They sed Queen size beds wrong like full size. So dont be fooled by all the pics and price its a dump on an ok location ( slum lord ) owned.
Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Yes they’re the cheapest but you would think it would be somewhat decent. Housekeeping is nonexistent as well. Not one time did they come. I had to personally go down to the office to ask for toilet paper. The room smelled musty as well. I’ll be staying somewhere else next time we are in Galveston.
Although it wasnt horrible, it wasnt great. The bed was probably harder than the floor and there were stains on the bedspread. We removed it, threw it in the corner and wrapped ourselves in blankets we traveled with. No hairdryers, coffee pot or cups in the room. 2 towels and 2 washcloths.. thats it. Front desk girl was a fraction less than grumpy and harassed. I get that for the price, you dont get much but its a business .. try to have clean linens.
This place is not only pdisgustingly gross, they have bed bugs bad, my door wouldnt lock at all... But thank God I wasnt in there long when we actually saw the bed bugs (yes multiple)crawling across the bed spread that was so gross. I left within 30 minutes of checking in. Unfortunately booked 3rd party.. informed them and the motel owner denied my refund to them, so not only is that place gross, but they are crooks
I truly wish there was something else lower than one star to give this place. I came to Galveston for a vacation and wanted to save money. So me and my fiance checked into this motel 6. First of all... It took the lady at the front desk about 20 minutes to get us checked in. It was at midnight so we were the only ones there. And it took her 20 minutes. I have NEVER waited that long before at any motel/hotel. So after she got us checked in. She came to the window and gave us our key to get into the room. My fiance and I walked in. She went straight to the AC unit to turn it on. I just so happened to look up and see a big Roach ON the roof. I went to the bathroom and it was filthy. The sheets looked like they were not washed in 2 months. The TV didnt work and the lights were going out. I then see another little roach crawling on the floor. I then called the front desk and told them about it. The lady told me she would give me another room. I told her the room better be in better condition then this one. She promised me it was. So we get to our second me at 12:45am. It was better. Much better than the last room. Until I pulled my sheets back on the bed saw a blood stain on my bed. And no lock on my door. I went to the front desk to get a refund and to get the hell out of there. The manager was at the front desk and I showed her a picture of the blood stained sheets and she laughed at me. Please guys dont ever go here. Spend the extra money and go somewhere that is well kept.
Drove 6 hours we got there a little early and couldnt check in until exactly 3PM. Room was dirty there was blood in the drawers, dirty fridge,dirty microwave. They dont have coffee or coffee makers. The only thing we really loved was the location, it is within walking distance of the beach and they allowed pets. Deposit is supposed to be refundable but I doubt we will get that back even though room was left with no damages.
The phone in our room (208) did not work, there is mold in the bathroom, water sits constantly on the floor. The smoke detector was hanging from the ceiling and the beds were awful, we ended up leaving 2 days early. Overall I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It was awful and definitely was the worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. It was disgusting.
Well the staff is accommodating and nice. I cant see the management of the place is up to up to even the lowest its nasty dirty and bug infested... The sheets are stained and from what seems like the 70s the blankets are just as bad the beds are in terrible condition. The showers have awful water pressure. And a weekend sameday check-in it is around $200 for one night... The place is honestly laughable. They even have the nerve to ask for a deposit 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Id steer clear of the island inn.
The service was great, the location was fair and the room was horrible. Our room was not what we had expected at all. With our visit landing on a holiday weekend, we didnt have much of a choice but to keep our room because everywhere else was booked. If Id had it my way I definitely would have stayed elsewhere.The room had several light fixtures that didnt work, although the AC did work, it leaked the entire time, our bedsheets and pillow cases were dirty and when asked for more, they were given to us, but we had to replace everything ourselves and they had holes and stains all over them. Not to mention, the bed was caved in and the actual pillows themselves were full of yellow stains. This place needs a serious upgrade! I will never stay at this motel again! Very disappointed.
Staff at the front desk was polite and helpful. Room? well, lets just say that cleanliness and attractiveness wasnt anywhere around. One wall in the room looked to have been painted by a five year old. The odor of cigarette smoke was in the room and their idea of an air freshener was to poke incense in the AC unit. I reserved a non-smoking room. The bathroom I supposed was in remodel state since the wall paper border had been removed (well some of it anyway) and the light cover was so yellowed that it didnt give off much light. The floor was filthy. I spilled some water in front of the vanity area and put a towel down to dry it up and the towel was BLACK when I picked it back up. We will be returning to Galveston next year for the same event but we sure wont be staying at this place again. Even our dog felt the hebbie jebbies in the room.
For the price the room was what was to be expected. Outdated, bed did not have a mattress pad, and the sheets were stained, pillow cases looked dingy. The light above the sink had a short or something. It kept turning on, even with the switch off. No coffee pot in the room, had to go to lobby to get coffee. Towels were not clean, and or stained. This was my first trip to Galveston, and next trip I will stay somewhere nicer.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!! We were changed to 3 different rooms because of leaking sinks, dirty toilets, broken doors and they still refused to give us a refund! The refrigerator was super corroded, there were roaches, the sheets were stained…this is just a horrible horrible place!
Way overpriced for the room. Bathroom had mold along the tub. The toilet would not stop running until you lifted the handle. The air conditioner cover was broken and held up with a 2x4. No coffee in the morning.
The staff was courteous and friendly but the exterior floors and walks really need to be power washed..they give a funky feel before you enter room. The interior of room not bad. Had refrigerator and microwave. No breakfast and did have coffee but not all condiments for coffee. Ice machine located in lobby. Priced well but really need to clean exterior for better presentation
I walked in and there were roaches everywhere, even on the bed. There was old food in the drawers and it smelled rancid. Not to mention there was a door connecting to the room next to us, with a chair in front of the door (did not look safe at all). I walked right back out and asked for a refund because there was no way I was staying in that room. The man in the front office refused to give me a complete refund and he was extremely rude and inconsiderate. In short. DO NOT STAY HERE.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My lovely fiance booked us this room for us and our 2 kids. When we pulled up it look deserted & I felt like something was not right. I looked up the reviews and I was horrified. He went and checked the room and everything seemed to be okay. We werent even there for 5 mins before the roaches started coming out. They were on the bed & coming from everywhere. We got the hell out of there. My fiance checked out & was yelling at the front desk lady he mentioned the roaches and the lady didnt even acknowledge it. She knew how dirty it was. I dont know how this place is opened. But when Monday comes around Im calling whoever because this place needs to be reported/shutdown. Not to mention we didnt get our money back but we shouldve. & I feel bad for people who actually have to stay here.
The room was dark and dingy. The carpet was very dirty with stains. the carpet and bathroom floor needs to be cleaned by your cleaning staff. The bed covering on my bed was very dirty with stains over the top. Needs to be laundered. The pros were the the room and area was very quiet, and the staff at the front desk was friendly. Overall I was disappointed.
BUGS and poor customer service! After being on the road all day, we checked into our reservedhotel and directly used the restroom. Then we set our luggage on the bed only to see ants crawling all over the floor due to sticky old candy all underneath the bed. When I canceled my reservation, there was no apologies & he kept $10 of my deposit due to us using the restroom. STEER CLEAR!
Worste stay ever 5 people 2 towels 7 days.Nothing brought fresh very unsatisfied. The staff are inhospitable and rude. Went to get fresh towels and sheets told me I had to call from the room phone thats didnt even work. When I took it to them I got accused of destroying property. And the posts around the pool are on the verge of collapsing. Could kill a youngling if caught in it. Needs to be taken down and something new built
I should have read the reviews!!!! DISGUSTING! Never stay here! TO BEGIN with, the wife that runs this place is a real piece of work, very rude and terrible customer service. The 1st room they put is in had stains all over the blankets and smelled like wet dog. We showed them a pic of the comforter and asked to change rooms. The 2nd room, was awful too, although it was somewhat cleaner than the 1st. The 1st thing my daughter noticed was a roach on the floor which we smashed and killed. My husband noted that the room smelled like Raid. No others were spotted during our 2 day stay. There were hairs on the blankets and the pillows smelled like dirty scalp that needs a good shampooing. Crackheads in the parking lot! MY husband wouldnt let us use the microwaves for fear of us being contaminated by crack residue. There are other things I could complain but you get the picture. The manager as I mentioned earlier opened our room as we were packing to leave telling us it was 11:00 and needed to check out. It was actually 10:45am and as if we wanted to stay another day! Always Read the reviews before u stay at a hotel. We wanted something cheap because we only live 45mins from Galveston and boy did we ended up pay h for it anyways!!!!
I had such a bad experience at your hotel. I stayed two nights with you. The first night we got their I asked for a pillow, sheets and a blanket for the fold out bed and the front desk said she was new and didnt know where anything was and was unable to find it. Then the next night I went back to ask for the same items and was told the same thing. The housekeeping staff took all the towels we had used and didnt replace any!! I asked for towels and was told they were out. I have NEVER been to a hotel where they couldnt accommodate anything that I needed. It was horrible...the worst stay I have EVER had!! This just left a bad taste in my mouth. I even told the front desk as I checked out. If I knew my stay was going to be this bad I would have stayed elsewhere!!
Highly disappointed with the quality of the room for the price paid. Location stated seawall which is false!! Parking is not adequate. We got locked out of our room and they had to use the master key to open it, some type of malfunction with the key pad on our door. The room was filthy, was afraid to use the restroom or sink. The beds were old and lumpy. The hotel was very noisy all hours of the night. The pool is very small. The tv didnt work
Room was dingy and paint stains all over wall, decided to go to a different hotel, and expected to receive a refund for the room and just lose my damage deposit, but instead was refused any sort o refund even after 6 minutes of viewing the room and not using any facilities. Had to threaten to call cops to get my refund. Lady came in after me to complain about the dilapidated state of the towels and the lack of common toiletries, rooms are also not as advertised and more expensive than the advertised price. DO NOT GO, DO NOT CHEAP OUT, you will be left disappointed and angry.
Very dirty. I understand we were a block from the beach but 2 days $380.00 seems a bit extreme. Room didnt cool off enough so AC had to run the whole time. Linens were stained. Everything was very old and outdated and not very clean. The staff was nice I guess, I didnt talk to them much.
The worse place ever!!!! Do not i repeat do not consider staying in this room!! Roaches crawling all over the place. We got the first room there and it was flooded with water. So then they gave us another room and it smelled bad, and couches had stains all over then we turned the lights on and all the roaches came out!!!!! Not to mention towels were yellow. We didnt last 10 minutes in this room it was gross anf of course they would not give us a refund and yet offered us another room! I repeat Do Not stay in this motel!!!!!!
Hands down, the worst hotel I have ever been to. First, they gave us a room that was already occupied so we walked in on somebody. The bathroom was dirty, only one towel, spots and bugs on the shower curtain. Sheets were visibly dirty, trash on the floor, and tv didnt work. As we were leaving in the morning, water started dripping in a steady flow from the bathroom ceiling. The wall clearly have water damage and were just painted over.
I booked this hotel online. Took 40 minutes to check in because they couldnt place us in a room because it was an online reservation. The room we finally got into was just left by another family because of the smell. The smell was a mixture of urine and mildew. We asked for air freshener and were given tilex cleaning product. They also gave us 1 room key. When we asked for an extra, they made it the biggest deal because they only had 1 left for the entire hotel. WHAT!?! The employee that checked us in was rude. Walking in and the first thing she says to me was do you need something? Locals later informed us that the hotel has complaints weekly for bed bugs. Awful experience. Dont book this hotel!
Housekeeping came around 9 in the morning, took all of the towels, and didnt replenish until around 7 in the evening. I told housekeeping that the microwave did not work. She turned it on and stated that it worked fine. I told her that I had a cup of water in there for 10 minutes and it was still cold. The WiFi did work on the side of the building that we were on. I spotted a homeless person in the alley right next to the building relieving himself. To top it off, on the day that we finally decided that we had enough, there was no hot water.
Rusty, dirty, no towels. The whole Motel 6 needs major renovations due to the fact it’s all rusty and dirty, pieces falling apart. No towels in the rooms when I checked in the rooms I had booked. I had to go down to the office and get some. The bed sheets had stains on them and I requested clean bed sheets and the lady receptionist handed me a big ball of bed sheets that weren’t even fully dried. Also the couch in the rooms had stains. The receptionist was not in a happy mood. There was hairs in the bathtub and the toilet paper was too thin and rough.
The location was good. The rooms were less than impressive. The sheets on 1 bed had hair and stains on them and the sheets on the other bed had holes in them. There were 3 people staying in the room but there were only 2 towels and 1 wash cloth. Went to the desk an let them know and the girl at the desk brought out 1 towel and 1 wash cloth. When we told here there are 3 of us and we all need a wash cloth she said she wasnt sure if she had another one. She did eventually get 1 more. The next day when the room was cleaned they only left 2 towels.
Horrible. The first room smelled of drug use, the second room. No heat, Bed bugs when I asked to get another room. Was told there was none. Available, the night person give me bed bug spray. Said go spray the room. It be alright, Im like are you serious, I politely call police. When they arrive show them pic of bed bug bites. And had two bugs on piece of paper. While police there then I was given another room. With heat. And NO bug bites. Island inn formerly motel 6. Be careful.
We arrived around 2 am and the man that was working was extremely slow. He couldnt find my reservation, when he finally did he took forever to take my payment. After he was finished with my payment I asked him if the room was ready and if there was extra linens for the pullout bed. He told me no and to wait. He left me standing there for -0 minutes and finally can back with the linens. We got into our room there was no soap in the bathroom. When we laid down to sleep the bed was full of dirt. So we had to take all the linens off and shake them and then place them back on the bed. We were extremely disappointed with the room and our stay. Other than the beautiful we had when we walked out of our room. We checked out at 9:30 the same morning. We have stayed with motel 6 before and have never had this type of problem. Finally it took a week for the payment from my card to finally post. Not happy it took so long for the payment to post.
When we first got there the room it self look nice. But it was until we check underneath the sheet of the bed and we saw lots of hair and toenail clipping plus the sheet it self were brown looking and not to mention the bathroom there were no toilet paper neither and also the attendant there were giving us a attitude which was rude. I wouldnt even give motel six another chance.
From the moment we checked in, there were problems! First the door key to our room didnt work, which ended up being a problem with the entire door part and the maintenance guy had to come fix it. Then I walked into the bathroom looking for towels to take a shower and there was 1 towel. I tried to call for more and the phone wasnt working. We finally got our towels 30 minutes later. Then that night the AC stopped working in the middle of the night. The managers were rude and not helpful. Will not ever be staying at another motel 6 just because of how awful this place was!
The first room we were put in was absolutely filthy and could not have been cleaned. Everything in the room was dirty from the sheets to floors etc. The second room they tried to put us in was one of the remodeled rooms but the a/c was leaking all over the floor. The last one we ended up in, which again was at least one of the remodeled ones, had dirty towels, hair all over the toilet and shower, the floors we gritty and had toenail clippings from previous tenant, the sheets were torn, I could go on but I think you get the point. We checked in on Thursday evening and our room was never cleaned until Sat night when I threatened to turn them in to BBB and Health Dept. I had to go get our clean towels each day. We had no extra toilet paper. I have continued to give Motel 6 a chance but since the inception of Motel 6 in the 70s it has continuously gone down hill, Id call it a Motel 0 now. Needless to say we will never stay at a Motel 0 again. This was the straw that broke the camels back. I dont expect perfection from a low budget motel but I do expect cleanliness and decent service which we received neither except the first night clerk who did his best to accommodate us. I think we should be reimbursed at least 1/2 our money for the horrible conditions and all the work I had to do to clean the room up enough and retrieve our linens each day. We asked for an addtl pillow and they said they didnt even have any. Tell Tom Bodette to not leave the light on for us because hed be wasting his electricity.Pam Jenkins
It isnt really clean but the bed is comfy, however the little loveseat isnt good for a good nights sleep. I couldnt get sheets for the fold out bed. We were supposed to be in a double queen room. It isnt on the Seawall, no beach view, vending machine is not working. No in-room coffee makers, bring your own if you want coffee at anytime. Breakfast?? Maybe some coffee and grab n go, I dont recommend this hotel. The staff has a difficulty understanding English.
The place was dirty, stinky, and gross.The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on..the floor would have been better.i finally got a good night sleep once I got home and was exhausted from trying to sleep there..our key card did not work so front desk had to let us in everytime we wanted in our room.there was no fridge as the site said there would be..half the light bulbs were missing..the shower barely worked..the towels had stains ion them and we paid over $115 a night to stay in this crack motel!! Worst experience I have ever had! And the front desk did nothing to rectify this.
The wifi was very slow and not working at times. The mini fridge froze all of our refrigerated items, (not supposed to run that cold!). Took a little over 4 hours to have our towels picked up and given fresh towels when we needed before then. Needed some do not disturb signs as the room service assistant was in the room when not called for. Light switches near bed were needing maintenance.
We wanted to take our dog with us, so we were very limited in affordable lodging choices, paid $129. on Friday night. The location was safe, next to bank and nicer hotels. James at front desk was very nice. A/C worked well, kept the room cool.But this hotel really needs outside and inside maintenance and upkeep. Room was clean except for floor (needs to be washed), bed cover is stained, mattress really hard and bed creaks, sofa bed is stained.
This was the WORST hotel Ive ever stayed at! I have stayed at really cheap hotels and this was way worse!!! First room we got had an air conditioner that was half way broken hanging out of the wall. There was water across the entire room! The second room had so many holes in the bedding from cigarette burns, stains on all the pillows, holes in the walls, broken mirror in the bath.... It goes on and on..... Good thing I brought my own sheets and pillows..... WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!! IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!
At $230 a night, the first room was flooded with no explanation, the 2nd room they gave us had dirty sheets, you could literally pick stuff off the sheets with your fingers. The bedding had obviously not been changed since the last guest slept in the bed. We had to act somewhat like a fool in order to get the management to refund our money.Do NOT recommend!
I paid over $200 with taxes and all on this junky place. Im disgusted.The Towels, sheets and wash clothes were all stained up. Very old as well. The shower curtain rod was barely hanging on to the wall. The beds were hard. The toilet leaned to the left. The lights were so dim in the bathroom and the room that you couldnt see very well.There was white flecks of something in the entire pool along with a roach and lots of feathers. Yet the cleaning guy was there scraping the sides of the pool. Dont know why he didnt clean the pool. It was gross.
This motel 6 is the worst ones, that have stay at. The first thing was they try to put us in a room that was not ready to stay in and then when we went back to get another room the lady at front desk was very rude. And no room service and the room was nasty and bugs got into our food, spiders in the bathroom and flying bug in the room. When I went to the front desk and complain bout no maid services She call someone and just bought us towels and nothing else. Bad service all around. I will not stay there again
This is probably one of the, if not THE worst motels I have ever started in. First...... Filthy. Second, also used as alive-in motel. Rooms not cleaned, came back both days to maybe a vacuuming, but need not made, yeah not emptied. No coffee in the mornings, office locked until the live in owners get up (I guess). Well NEVER stay at this location again. Also, was told by another guest that they find bedbugs..... Scary! Stayed only because no other rooms available. Kept my word on, didnt want to walk on the carpet. Absolutely, without a doubt the most horrible broke down beds, woke up several times throughout the night in pain from the deteriorated mattresses.
The room was reasonably spacious and clean. The hot water never ran out and he A/C blew cold. The maid service changed our towels and cleaned up just as expected. We stayed for a few nights and noticed that the outside of the rooms can get a bit messy with litter and other trash but the staff did a good job of having it cleaned up by 10 or so the next day. The location is amazing! We did the beach on the west side, Schlitterbahn and The Strand in consecutive days and our ability to get to each place quickly was great. The last working th front desk was pleasant and helpful. My only issue was that I had great difficulty getting the WiFi to work
This hotel was great. The location isnt exactly on the Sea Wall, but if you think about it, hotels are largely for sleeping and doing ones business. They arent where you spend the entire day. Still, the room we had was quite substantial for the price, the staff beyond friendly and amazing (even letting us check in a bit early), and the renovations they are doing to the other rooms will bring the location to the next level. If you reviewed the place prior to the renovation, the beds were a bit stiff, but having stayed in a newly renovated room, I can say the bed upgrades ROCK! I recommend this place to EVERYONE!
They advertise newly remodeled rooms on their website but its the crappiest motel 6 Ive ever been to. The walls are falling apart, the dumpster has trash thrown out beside it, they advertise rooms with couches and then none of them have them, when you complain they make their teenage daughter come deal with you so they dont have too. Even the vending machines for soda have the drinks in the wrong spot. They overcharged us for our room telling me it wasnt over $100 a night when they charged us $108
Ok, I’m very fair when it comes to these types of things. I could easily overlook minor inconveniences for the price, but !!! My family and I pulled up and there were dirty towels hanging on railing and a grocery store shopping buggy flipped over on the second floor “definitely not fancy” or impressive, so I told my wife I would go check out the room. I walked into the room and it stunk. So as I began to check the bed the first thing I notice is 3 or 4 little bugs on one of the pillows “BED BUGS” by the way !!! I squished one and took it to the front desk and demanded a refund. The front desk tried to argue with me about it. I did get my refund but the lady tried to argue that they didn’t have bed bugs. I worked at Rent A Center for 10 years, I know a bed bug when I see one !!! DO NOT STAY !!!
Dear Mr. Jim Amorosia, I suggest you go on the show Undercover Boss & make this place your first stop. Im sure what I saw on the shower curtain and white towels wasnt blood either way they should be taken out of circulation. Oh and lets not forget the stains on the bedspread either. I have stayed in your hotels for many years and NEVER have I stayed in a place where I actually went to buy a blanket, antibacterial and air freshener! I didnt leave because it was too late to cancel and get something else and of course this was a great location. We asked for the towels to be changed and of course that means we dont want one. My friend was screaming for me to get her a towel from the shower. Needless to say after 10 minutes of waiting for the front desk person to get some from an unknown location, they were damp and I was uncertain if they were even clean.. soooo we resorted to our beach towels.. -_- If you are going to stay in this place dont forget to bring your own blanket, pillows, towels, air freshener, and antibacterial.
Everyone was very polite.The rooms were a disappointing. The furniture was old and outdated. The walls and ceilings were stained. There were no towels. But someone brought some when I called the front desk. The suitcase rack was old and rusted. The towel rack in the bathroom was about to fall out of the wall. There wasnt a coffee pot or coffee in the room. No iron. The floors were dirty. The tile in the bathroom was nasty with black mold. The shower curtain rod was about to fall out of the wall. There wasnt any breakfast or coffee in lobby.
First of all, the outside of this hotel is covered in filth and smells like smoke everywhere, and there is no continental breakfast. It probably has the worst breakfast bar I have ever seen. Once you get in the rooms, you are greeted with a phone that doesnt work, a horrible refrigerator, and uncomfortable beds. Then, the bathroom has only the amount of bar soap you would use for a babies arm. And no shampoo or conditioner. They do give you free wifi with internet connection, but it is horribly slow. No in-room coffee or coffee pot, and they have an extremely loud AC that unless you want to die of heat, you cant turn off. You can not turn down the fan settings as well, as it does nothing. I will certainly never come back here, or recommend it to anyone.
Ive seen alot of the comments on here and i feel like its alot of people wanting wine on a beer budget. Ive stayed in Galveston several times with some good hotels some really bad ones and for the price this one is good. Ive seen tons of hotels with the cigarette burns but i just left the homewood here in town and there was what we thought was puke on the bathtub. The second room smelled awful of something i dont want to describe here. We have stayed in many motels Im talking 100s and to read the reviews i expected a disaster. I wouldnt of booked the room having read the reviews. Im here to say it isnt as bad as they make it sound. I agree its not as clean as it should be, but few hotels are. I havent seen a single bug and the front desk help was pleasant. I did have to stand there for a bit to get help but they let me check in early and everything. I got room 211 so maybe the rest are horrible I dont know, but this room is newly remodeled from what I can tell. This motel would be fine for anyone who is down to earth and not walking around with their nose up in the air. If your looking for Hilton this isnt it, but if youve stayed at days inn, motel 6, super 8s, and things like that this should be fine for you. Dont believe most these drastic reviews. Just ask to see a room would be my recommendation. If every other room besides this one is trashed then I apologize for disagreeing, but Im not seeing it. And no Im for sure not related to the owners.
This is the worst room in Galveston as far as I can see. Maybe they are trying to remodel but it looks to me like they dont have any employees. The man in the office is very nice and looks overworked. But this place is not a place to vacation at or stay.
The room was not worth the price because the rust stains on the outside and inside of the door. There werent sufficient amount of blankets because I was cold all night. There was yelling from other people throughout the night. The parking didnt seem safe since my sister and I were given a room in the back of the hotel. I will not be staying at another Motel 6 because of this experience.
Checked in and our room was dirty and the bed was a complete mess, it looked like someone just woke up in it! We got a new room and it was just as disgusting. We also noticed that we were charged more than we were told!! We talked to the manager about it and he kept denying it. We went straight to Walmart and bought sheets to use for that one night. Horrible experience.
Well first thing I was not aware of the 25.00 hotel deposit. I booked thru book it and was told one price then Im charge something else at hotel. Then the next thing, I ask for more towels and was told they didnt have any and was given one extra towel. It was five of us in my group with one face towel and a couple of larger towel. I dont understand how you can run a hotel and do not have enough towels for your guests. Third no ice and they did not clean up well there was trash near bed where the maids did not sweep up.
Got a room for Thursday night (7/27/2017) ...checked in around 4...Rm. 103....the room was filthy!....the beds were made with the same sheets from the night before....they were soiled and the sink had toothpaste and hair in it.....the room smelled horribly. Went to front desk and told the girl there...she said she would call the head person to clean the room....I asked her is this the same person who supposedly cleaned the room earlier...she said oh no! She does a wonderful job and you will enjoy your stay...Yeah right....went to the room told my granddaughters and husband to load up were leaving...went back to the office and got a refund....I would never suggest that anyone should stay there....totally horrible!
Personally not worth the price its very old and run down . Good for college kids on a budget not best for family vacation . The people are very friendly and understanding . The rooms have a mildew old smell . Wires were coming out of the wall / very run down inside and rusty. Did run into dead roaches . We didnt stay we checked out and paid more at a different location since the smell was very over powering .
The front desk clerk was very kind and was able to accommodate us with an early check in since our car broke down. The room was horrible. The only updated items was the tv and sink. Otherwise it was uncomfortable with slanted squeaky beds. I rather have paid more in a different hotel than stayed their. Only reason I gave a 3 because of the customer service and early check in.
The location was great since it was a short walk to the seawall, but the room was interesting. There were missing paint spots all along the edges of the wall, especially near the ceiling, and the furniture and bed were very stiff feeling. But then again, I did only pay $45 for one night there, so I guess you get what you pay for? The one other great thing was that I could bring my dog with me, which is a difficult thing to do when traveling, so I am glad that yall have a pet friendly policy.
Before you pay please ask to see a room. I had paid in advance it was the worst hotel I ever stayed in.1. The bed and blankets was stained2. The bathroom was falling apart3. There is no towels at 1st you need to go ask for some and when they give you some they are small and have brown spots on them.4. Staff are rude5. They will charge you for a shampoo and soap packet so buy your own .6. My list goes on it just sucks there I rated them 1 star. Worst hotel ever !!!!!!!!
The owners/managers of this hotel need to get out of the hotel business. They are obviously greedy and dishonest people who are only in it to make a buck and dont care about providing even a basic level of service. This is our experience. Only two thin bath towels were provided for a four person room (and two shampoo packages and one soap). No Kleenex box, no coffee maker, sheets were threadbare and had HAIRS on them (before we slept on them), burn holes in blankets and throw covers, doors were rusted, and we had to slam ours to get it to close. On the internet it was advertised as having continental breakfast and a pool. Well, there was NO breakfast, only coffee provided in the lobby. The pool was dirty and locked. Our tv had only one channel that worked. We tried both the remote and manually trying to use the buttons on the tv--neither worked. The guy at the desk said he would send someone to come fix it but nobody ever came. There was also way too much light coming into the room when trying to sleep even though the drapes were closed completely. This was the worst hotel Ive ever stayed at. We paid over $200 for one night and feel totally ripped off; I have stayed at much better hotels that cost much less. If I could put zero stars, I would. Do NOT stay here!!!
Horrible hotel! Got here, checked in, went to the room & immediately saw roaches & stains on the bed. Went straight to the office & asked for a refund & the guy was very rude & basically called me a liar. He refused a refund at first but no where in the lobby was there a no refund sign. He sent an employee up to check the room & he came back & of course said that there was no roaches. After about 20 minutes they eventually gave me a refund but never an apology.
We had been planning a trip to Galveston for a couple of months and had called to reserve a room a month in advance. Then called a couple of days before leaving to make sure. We get there and the key card wouldnt work so had to sit around waiting for them to manually unlock the door. Get in and it was a smoking room, no microwave and no coffee pot. Husband talked to them and they said theyd get us a microwave but no coffee pot. Next day still no microwave so husband asked cleaning lady about it and she went into the room next door that was being worked on and took that one, it also had a coffee pot that we couldnt have. Second evening we come back late from fishing and once again key card want work and there was another guy a couple doors down that couldnt get into his room either. Waited 30 minutes before someone came to let us in. Said was on his way to fix the problem. Its 2 am. So until after 4am we hear banging. This was the 3rd time we stayed there, was a nice experience the times before thats the reason we chose this place, but that will be the last time.
Our room did not have the cable cords hooked up they were just sitting on top of the tv. The bathroom floor was wet when we arrived and we had almost no toilet paper. We had only one towel and one washcloth. When we went to ask for a second towel we were told there wasn’t any more. What hotel doesn’t have extra towels? We paid WAY too much for the service we got. This hotel would be better if they had better customer service.
The lady at the front counter is very rude, for some reason they make you put a $25 dollar deposit down, cause they place isnt that nice. And when we were checking out , she told us that we had a dog or a cat in our room which we did not bring in any animals. And so she refuses to return our deposit. Plus, there is a room that has mold all over the place. Do not stay here. Ill come back when then fix the mold and fire the lady at the front desk.
We arrived and door to our room was open. They had small roaches in room. We decided to check bed and there were bed bugs. The room wasn’t even swept. Dingy! Cigarette burns on covers and stains on pillow cases that looked like urine.
My experience was great but our room was not the cleanest. I bought a swifter to clean the floors. I used 4 each time. They were black. But all in all where can you stay 1 block from the ocean for 62.50 per nite.
Horrible experience, air conditioner doesnt work, they never had towels and bed sheets were so antique that they had holes in it, and mattress were woren out and old. The cleaning crew never changed the sheets the next day only made the bed. They never moped the restroom. And it stinks bad like mold. Wouldnt recommend anyone to waste their money on the one off 3611 Central City Blvd Galveston, Tx. I wish I could just click on submit but it wont let me until I rate them, it should be 0... not 1 star
I would not even give it one star. Never stayed there, cancelled, they still charged me and have yet to refund. Some rude guy gets on and plays the no english card and says it was never charged. So my bank account is wrong?!!?? Guess I will call ICE and send them over to check all their Visas if they say they dont speak english.
I booked this room back n April. Requested downstairs n the front by Office & ice machine, instead was put n the back close to an alley like area. Checked n room after 3pm and no towels were n the room, was told they were being washed. Went to dinner & walked along the seawall and when we returned over 2 hours later they still weren’t n the room, Called the front desk girl said they were ready but I would have to come & pick th m up. I didn’t like that at all (they should have been n the room at check n time) ALSO, when we pulled the covers back the sheets were dirty & stained no housekeeper to fix the issue had to go back to the front desk & pick up linen and come back and put them on the beds... let’s just say I wasn’t a happy camper that Friday night. And to make matters worse I dropped my charger had to move night stand and it was terrible ... I took pictures.. it looked like something was growing on the floor... I will never stay there again. It was nothing like the previous year, I don’t know if they changed management or what... I feel like I should hv been compensated for these issues but they didn’t do anything.... I was REALLY DISSAPOINTED & TOTALLY DISSATISFIED with my MOTEL 6 experience 😤😤
Dont let the photos fool you. The service is nice and the Inn keepers are kind. The building and rooms are a little rough around the edges. They need some work. No free coffee and no hair dryer in the room. These two things are listed as being provided.
I asked for a non smoking room and was told it was, but it reeked of cigarette smoke. Cigarette holes in the sheets and all bedding. Floor was dirty when my daughter crawled on it, it got her clothes all nasty. Window curtain was broken, so it wouldnt shut all the way. We paid over $200 and we will never again.
One of the beds appeared to not have new, clean sheets placed after the last guest. The top sheet had a fair amount of sand on it. We notified the desk and they replaced sheets while we were out. The shower mat was wet upon arrival. We forgot to mention it but it was disturbing that it was wet. It felt like a $60 motel stay not $160. We wont be returning.
If I could score this lower I would! The lobby had a horrible food smell like they just heated something up with a lot of different powerful spices. I went to the lobby bathroom while I was waiting to get attended and boy that should have been the first red flag. The toilet was loose, no napkins, water stains in the ceiling and the bottom plastic trim was very old and coming off. Well when the girl helped me she was nice, extremely young and looked like she literally just rolled out of bed. She gave me my room key and directed me to the back of the motel for my room. We drove around the back and WOW is all I had to say the hotel is definitely going through some remodels because some of the room doors were painted different colors and very unappealing. As we are walking upstairs there was a door open right before the stairs and I saw the girl that just helped us in there with her family it appeared. It was quite a few people in a hotel room filled with stuff I got the impression that her and her family lives there. Upon walking in the room carried an odor of old and humid smell plus it was extremely hot. We turned the A/C unit on and it looked like it clearly has not been cleaned it years, we cleaned it with a towel and the amount of dust that came off of it was hideous.The room was defiantly antiquated like if we walked into a hotel room from the 90’s TV box and all. There was a fridge and microwave in the room however the top of the fridge appeared to be completely rusty and the microwave was dirty so we did not use either one of those. I was going to put my bag on the luggage rack which first off was wobbly and had rust all over it so once I saw that I just put it on the table. As my bag was cloth and I was afraid the rust would bleed onto my bag. We came back to the hotel and took a shower and upon looking at two of the three towels in the room they had small orange color stains so we used the one that was clean. I went to hang the wet towel and the rack was covered with rust and orange and black stains everywhere. The sink kept getting clogged and the water would take a very long time to go down. I will say I had to check for bed bugs, The thin brown blanket under the blanket had various penny size holes in it. I went to the bathroom at one point and was in utter disgust! There was about 6-8 small roaches roaming around the bathroom. I then quickly tried to kill them and proceeded to pick up anything we had laying on the floor. The blow dryer commences to work for about a min then it pops and the light flickers I hit the reset button and the blow dryer never comes back on even after multiple attempts. It was about 11:04 and we were all ready just needed to take the bags downstairs when someone opens the door abruptly and yells check out time. My husband took off the lock and told the man we are about to head downstairs and showed him that we were ready to go he looked inside and said ok quickly. He never once knocked or said anything before him opening the door can you imagine if any one of us was undressed. He was an older male with no type of uniform on or anything that made him appear that he worked at the Motel. We are putting our things in the car I saw the same young looking girl that checked me in the hotel the day before with the exact same clothes and she was wearing flip flops with socks and appeared to be working going in and out of that one room that I believe the entire family lives in. I checked out and there was another girl still young but appeared older than the grungy one that helped me the day before who helped me. She did say hello but was too busy carrying a personal conversation to pay attention to me. This is an absolute embarrassment to the Motel 6 brand and quality that we are used to staying at. This is by far the nastiest, rudest, dirtiest hotel we have ever stayed in. Just writing all the horrible things I had to encounter during stay gives me chills. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
One star is being generous. This place is disgusting. Asked for clean sheets and they handed me the sheets so I could change them myself also ask for new towel cuz they didnt even change the dirty towels and the guy en front still got angre the lady was on her day cuz she was on a bad mood all the dam time room was nasty. This place is not worth $329 a night. I regret ever booking my stay
Everything was good except there were no linens for the sofa bed. We checked in so late that we rearranged bed linens and made do with what we had. The evening desk clerk who checked us in was friendly and helpful. I went into the office on the morning of check out and never saw a clerk. There was already a couple waiting to talk to the clerk so I left the office.
First off they advertise being pet friendly ..which they do allow pets but also have a sign in the lobby that says you are not allowed to leave your pet in the room or they will call animal control to come get your pet. Thats not pet friendly.!! No coffee pot, not enough towels for 2 people in a king room..very dingy..BEDBUGS!!!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Very Rude!
The place is dirty, pillows are dirty and smelly. I got BED BUGS BITES and try to talk with the owner or manager but they keep saying there is nobody that I can talk with about it. Its a shame cause the location is great and with a minimal attention to the cleaning details the hotel could be at least good. I hope they start doing a better job with the cleaning and maintenance ....if they really care for the guests.
Yellow pillows, every towel was torn or smelled, rips in the sheets and comforter, the pullout couch was broken and the mattress was filthy, there were no complimentary soaps, and worst of all, all of us got bed bugs. We werent given the Wi-Fi code and when i called down to the front i was insulted with sexist remarks. We were barged in on multiple times by the maid. They took 3 towels and brought back 1. Only most of the holes in the wall were haphazardly patched, all being left unpainted.
I made a reservation for one night and made the payment of the full amount of $200.86 couple days before arriving.At the time we did the check in the person at the front desk charged us $50.00 more due a Security Deposit.. this notice surprised us because we didnt expected when we paid at first the full amount including taxes, fees and the Expedia charges.. This person at the front desk said that the $50 was going to be returned in a couple of days... and the money havent show up in our account yet after 18 days.
Please convey this feedback to CEO Jim. Anytime I travel I look for motel 6. The prices are consistently great and the Motel 6 experience is wonderful....until now. I reserved a room, proceeded to check in. I was given my room key, went to my room, and the room looked as if it was lived in for awhile by a extremely messy family. I went back to the desk and let them know I think someone is still in this room The desk girl argued with me and said no, nobody has been in that room and it should be clean. She didnt believe me and sent someone to check the room before offering another room. The person came back and told the desk girl, yes the room is dirty. She still argued the point that nobody has been in that room. At that point, she told me YOU CAN STILL HAVE THIS ROOM. REMAKE THE BED (with the dirty used bedding) AND CLEAN THE ROOM YOURSELF, ROOM SERVICE WONT MIND. I honestly thought she was joking, but she wasnt! I told her I wanted a clean room. She gave me one, but wasnt happy about it. The new room was made up, it was even remodeled, but it was no where close to clean! There were no towels in my room and I didnt notice it until I took a shower. After my shower, I called and asked for towels. The desk girl couldnt believe there were no towels in the room, and assumed I stole them! She finally, angrily, said I could have more towels, but I would have to go get them from the office because she or the other 2 employees in the office couldnt bring them to me. I told her I was wet and needed a towel because I just showered. She didnt care and said I still had to find a way to get them myself. I have never seen a more disorganized establishment as this one. I was upset about this experience mainly because I was hoping to use motel 6 for my future work and leisure travels. Now I have to reconsider.
It was a mess from the start. They couldnt get the printer to work, the vending machines were broke but the lady sold us hot pops from behind the counter. We finally got our key and got up to our room and the key wouldnt unlock the door, so when we left to eat they were going to fix it. When we got back we just decided to be moved to a different room because the first one still wouldnt work. The pillow cases were dirty and/or stained and it was loud all night. The next morning we realized that there was a cemetery right in the middle of all of the motels.
Terrible!!! Room was nasty! bedding had stains all over it and holes from burns. shelf falling out of the wall, drawer on dresser/credenza broken, just hanging off, shower rusted out, floor dirty, couch dusty, room GROSS!!! ZERO STARS!!! it is close to the beach. Thats it! Disgusting rooms!!!
This place is horrible! I wish I could give it zero stars. All of the room linens were torn, dirty, and had hair on them. Pet hair from the lamps above the night stand fell into my cup. The pull out bed was also covered in pet hair, stained, and had no linens on it at all. The couch had some orangish-red 3 dimensional stains where youre supposed to sit. The bed is terribly uncomfortable. There is no coffee pot. The floor is always wet and dirty and the entire room feels wet. The bed sheets feel wet, the countertop feels wet, and the air itself is uncomfortably humid. The lights are constantly flickering like were in a horror movie (its scaring my 7 year old and would be a great danger to anyone that has seizures), and some of the power outlets dont work. The front of the air conditioner is hanging off, exposing some of the wiring (and filth) inside. With how much we paid for it ($90) online, I was amazed how bad it was. I cant find anything good to say about it!
Ive never wrote a review before but I felt I should this time. This particular motel is not worth staying in. 1st when we got to our room there was no towels, or toilet paper. this place apparently does not do Continental breakfast like we were told. Our room was a bit on the dirty side. Theres much more but i could write but if your looking for a cheap motel or decent, dont pick this location.
