I loved my time here at mad hatter. My bartender PHIL was amazing. Educated. Kept pouring me waters and made all my drinks well balanced. The wings were good too. The ambience is nice at night for sure. However the bathroom stalls were in very bad condition and one of the urinals was filled up and didn’t flush. Only negative of the night.

My best friend and I were looking for a place to have a drink and some tacos! I’m so glad we choose this place. The bartender John was amazing. He made the best watermelon margaritas! You have to come try it! We went during Happy Hour! Happy Tuesday!

Had a great time! It was my first time and Roberto was such a great bartender. They have a pool table, several other games and great much. Honestly a vibe

Really enjoyed my afternoon here at the Madd Hatter. It was unfortunate it was my last day in the area and I stumbled across this place. The bartender working was friendly and was a very positive guy! The food was good although there’s so much of it for one person haha! Next time I’m in Hoboken I will be coming back to the Mad Hatter definitely worth your while visiting.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to check Madd Hatter out. We ordered the chicken nachos. They were amazing. The service by Roberto was 10/10. The music playing was a plus is well. We will definitely be back.

Stopped in for a quick celebratory drink for my birthday & Taylor was absolutely awesome! Great personality, made the drink absolutely perfect (like nothing about it was wrong at all!) & was super kind. It’s rare to find good service these days and she was just freakin’ awesome! Definitely recommend coming here and asking for her if you’re ever in the area!

Be careful ordering alcoholic beverages as the prices aren’t noted on the menu . They ended up charging me $55 for one drink that was never mentioned the size/price . The MH platter was $35 and wasn’t worth it . It was mediocre and Very disappointing. The waiter was nice however felt rushed to pay the bill when it wasn’t even busy . I will not return . 2 drinks and a platter $145 is ridiculous !!!!

I celebrated my 30th birthday here and it was a pleasure. The service was phenomenal and the atmosphere was full of fun! They definitely know how to celebrate a birthday and entertain!

Roberto was an absolute legend! Super kind man amazing customer service. Talked to us, made us feel super comfortable and make a laugh. This is (Carlos). Food and drinks are worth it. Music was great. Went here and was served by some dark short hair light eyes server I think her name was tori. She ruined our experience with her dry and bothered attitude. If you don’t want to go to work stay home!! Any time we asked for anything even as simple as a recommendation she had such a flat effect. I honestly almost asked for a different server. How do you work here and have that kind of attitude. Be aware If I were you I would request a different server and your experience would be great.

My friend and I decided to have dinner here. We’ve been looking for places to try. This is our first time here! The tacos were absolutely delicious! I ordered the shrimp! Seriously, 10/10. John was our bartender and he was fabulous. We also ordered the Watermelon margarita. It was refreshingly delicious! So please come down and try it!!!!! We came for happy hour!!!! Happy Tuesday!!!

Came here for a Taco Tuesday with some friends off a whim and had a great time! We did the $20 unlimited taco special, there were half off tequila shots , and $6 sangria. They had karaoke which was a fun surprise to find out while there. Our server John was super attentive and a great time

Came in on a Tuesday for Happy Hour. The unlimited tacos were 10/10 and the drinks were great. My server was John, great service and great vibes from him for the group. I would definitely come back again and ask for him.

Amazing is an understatement!! I have been to Mad Hatter before but this time my server Shannon was the best experience I ever had. She was very attentive and when my order came with lettuce she made sure to fix the order automatically!! she was amazing and I would definitely come again and request Shannon

Time after time again this place surprises me in the best way. Just had a splendid time there the other day. The food and our service from Shannon was just perfect! She did an amazing job and made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to come back!

Madd Hatter boasts stunning outdoor seating that truly captivates. They offer an extensive selection of beverages paired with delectable cuisine. Our order included the truffle pizza, pink sauce pasta, and mozzarella sticks – all of which were truly flavorsome. The staffs assistance in suggesting dishes was greatly appreciated. We also sampled their sangria, which left a middling impression.

This place is a gem, perfect for hosting happy hours, socials, and even the nightlife crowd is impressive! Good people work here, but the owner is absolutely hands on, you see him in the trenches and that means a lot to fellow business owner. Someone who has that much passion behind his business to see him actively working, helping set up, making sure our event went smoothly…that’s invaluable.

A local FAVORITE of mine. Whether you are grabbing a bite to eat, watching the big game, or dancing the night away this place has it all. Highly recommend stopping by next time you’re in town, and if you are lucky enough you will get the chance to be served by bartender Nicole, who I believe is the best server in town. She always checks in and makes sure you are having a great experience! Great job madhatter keep it up!!

This place is awesome!!! Great vibes , the music is very diverse, I was seated almost immediately, didn’t have to wait long for service either!!!! Drinks are delicious too & the food is great. They are a little pushy with offering shots , 3 different girls came to our table in less than 15 minutes. The hostess “guy at the door” kept encouraging us to take more shots. I get the marketing tactics but let us enjoy our food. However Tory Our waitress was freaking amazing!! Ask for her !! I recommend!

Cool place! Friendly staff. Has a New York City vibe. Hard to find parking in this location, but I love the area. I would recommend for a quick meet up for drinks. Wasn’t all that impressive with the food or drinks.

My husband and I had a cancelled flight and ended up in Hoboken for an additional 4 days. We found mad hatter and instantly fell in love. The atmosphere was amazing. A perfect mix of club and dive bar. Emma and Shannon were our bartenders and they made our stay so fun. They made us feel at home, and I’m already buggging my husband to go back.

We came from another bar in Hoboken where we had a bad experience (Black Bear). Nicole totally turned our night around. Great vibes and amazing service! We’ll be back for her and Morgan every Tuesday! They have taco Tuesday and more! definitely a place I’m going to often.

Since moving to the area a year ago this place has become a solid favorite of mine. The staff are exceptionally lovely and professional, a great selection of drinks, and a vibe that feels incredibly positive and friendly.In the summer the outside seats get all the sunshine (there are tables in the shade if that is your preference). I’d find the bar very good value, especially at happy hour.This is clearly a very well run bar. The high standard is consistent, and it has easily become a regular place for me to go. I haven’t yet explored the full menu but the chicken tenders are great and the Parmesan truffles fries are the most generous portion I have seen in NJ or NY.They are dog friendly when appropriate, I’m sat here outside and she’s just been given her second top up of ice as it’s a hot day. Which is the sort of service that makes me keep coming back.I rarely go out late but when I have the atmosphere and been busy, sociable and fun.This place makes a real effort to be a great bar, it deserves every one of its five stars.

Great experience, got there early with a big group and bouncer was super nice at accommodating all of us and even provided us a VIP table. It was a mixed group of guys and girls where guys would have had to pay a cover charge. Waitresses were super nice and came to check up on us every so often. Music was good, typical club music that touched based on a little bit of everything. Sports on every TV, crowded but not uncomfortable!

Worst customer service. My server this Friday night Shannon A was horrible. No personality, no compassion, just empty. Told her my margarita was nasty and wanted a soda instead. Wasn’t even apologetic and already mentioned not being able to remove the drink from my bill (when I didn’t even ask). Then had another bartender remake, and it was even worst. When the bill came, assume I didn’t want my receipt, then assumed I wanted it through text after. Just really soulless service. Nachos were okay, but not worth the price

Just discovered the nightlight that is Hoboken! So fun. Been finding myself time and time again at the mad hatter. Always a fun time, food is bombbbbb. Get the boneless Thai wings. Bartenders are a vibe too. Last time I was there the bartender Nicole was so fun. Makes the place even more of a vibe.

John was the best!! The host found out it was my birthday and brought over cheesecake for me with a sparkler... a total doll!!! John the bartender was phenomenal!

First time here and never again will I go back! Sat outside waiting for someone to attend us for like 20 minutes finally someone came to take our order. We ordered our drink (fishbowl) and our food took about another 20 minutes but ok , I ordered mozzarella sticks and a burger with a quesadilla of and the famous fishbowl drink contain liquor bill was $170 and no tip included how ? I asked for the receipt never got it the waiter disappeared. Never again

12/3/2023Went to watch the 49ers vs eagles game plenty of tvs nice atmosphere very good vibes until we ordered food. The waitress for the most part was nice my food came i ask for a condiment to go with my food and it took almost 25mins to get to our table while we watched her twirl her hair, mingle with a lot of customers and staff oh and just stand around texting on her phone. I only got the condiment because we asked one of the bus boys and it took him less than 5 mins to bring it to the table, then thats when she shows up to say it took so long because she had to ring it up which she didnt at that point i didnt even want the meal it was cold and i was annoyed. She offered to reheat it or pack it to go and i wanted neither but she said she couldnt do nothing else without a manager so i asked to speak to the manager. She went to get the manager and said they werent available so 45mins later we asked no manager so we asked the door person about the manager he said he wasnt there but he will call him after a while the waitress came back to the table said the manger still isnt there but she went outside and i guess the door person talk the Manger what our issue was and the waitress came back and took the meal off our tab.... No hard feelings towards the waitress but she has to learn to work her tables better it should never take almost 25mins for a table to get a condiment.... I dont think its a bad spot but i think they need to revamp some things. The meal looked good but i was so annoyed with the situation i didnt even want it anymore

I previously left a review in february of 2024. my birthday visit was september 4, 2023, but i just left the review months later since it was an experience i will never forget. at the time of my visit, there definitely was outdoor seating considering that my birthday was in the late summer before the fall. i appreciate the owner’s response, but there were more important matters discussed in the review than the seating arrangement.

This is my favorite bar in Hoboken. Food and drinks are always good but I come back time and time again for the immaculate vibes! Nothing makes me happier than my regular bartenders John and Nicole having my drink order ready by the time I get my seat at the bar!

Quite disappointed with our experience here. Came in and sat down and asked if they had a happy hour. We got told it was at the bar. Went to the bar and told no happy hour was on (okay not a major issue) then I saw the screens kept showing “daily specials” on drinks. Asked about those and was told they are not on today - so why show them?? Then we got the bill, which was high and no breakdown of what it was for. After we paid (admittedly our fault) we realized there was a 6.5% service charge on the bill. We queried it and were told it’s a charge to come into the bar and get drinks and wasn’t a tip - this charge was not displayed anywhere on the menu (from what I can remember) and is a total scam. I’ve never paid a percentage fee on ordering drinks in a bar at prices the bar set, it’s completely unfair and a completely hidden fee. I’ve been to Hoboken many times and haven’t been in this bar before and this will be the last time. Over $95 for 6 basic drinks too!

We were seated quickly outside, and greeted right away. The server was knowledgeable about the different flavors for the drinks. We ordered a watermelon mojito and a mango margarita. The drinks were soooo good! We also had the buffalo wontons, again very good! This is a great place for a night out.

Roberto is great! Doesn’t pressure you on selling food. Gentleman for sure. I would come here again. Most places do the whole sale nonsense. I appreciate coming to a place that doesn’t look at the dollar rather the customer as a person. 5 star for sure.

The bar is amazing so are the food and specials and so are the drinks!!!!! But their biggest assets are John & Nicole! So personable, so friendly the rest of the staff is friendly as well but they go the extra mile and it makes a difference!!! Madd Hatter have a loyal customer because of these two now!

The fresh squeezed orange juice in the mimosas was great. The avocado toast was very expensive and unfortunately pretty bland and the bread was not toasted. Also, in the women’s bathroom, three out of the five stalls had broken doors and there was vomit in an open trash can in the stall.

Emma was our bartender tonight and she was absolutely amazing. Super friendly and attentive. She made the night so much better. I’ll be back for her service.

Mad Hatter’s is one of the best bars on Washington St. The bartenders are great and the food is amazing. Especially since the kitchen closes at 2am. They have pool, karaoke, trivia and different types of happy hours. Come see Roberto.

Came here with some friends and got seated at one of the patio tables after the host tried to get our attention while we were walking down the block. He sat us and then left us with menus, after which no one came back to bring us water or take our order. We waited about 20 minutes and left. There were mostly empty tables there too, it was relatively early on a Saturday afternoon, and we watched multiple waitstaff having a conversation in the front of the bar rather than come over to us.

Stevie Wonder could see that this place is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Service is terrible. We came on a warm Sunday in March. The inside of the restaurant was a very slow but outside was very lively. We waited over an hour for food. Our first drinks came quick but the second round of drinks took about 50 minutes. We werent the only ones waiting as everyone around us had to wait. The couple next to us waited well over an hour for what seemed to be just quesadillas.. there are up charges for everything. If you order a double its about $20 a drink. Not worth it, a total rip off. Up charges for everything. On top of that, they charge an additional 6.5% service charge that has apparently nothing to do with the gratuity. And then while you have to sign for the bill, the waitress stands over you watching you as you are pretty much forced to leave a 20% tip because thats the lowest option you have. I wanted to leave something closer to 15% to reflect the service but as she stood there it was on purpose. Quite unbelievable. The bar was not that busy but still backed up. The place is a waste of time and money.

Absolutely avoid this place at all costs. The service is atrocious. We waited 10 minutes at the bar before anyone even bothered to acknowledge us. And dont even get me started on the pricing – its outrageous! A pitcher is somehow cheaper than two watered-down LITs? Give me a break. We ended up shelling out $50 for two drinks, which NYC doesn’t even charge that much. (They up charge you for god knows what.) And as if that wasnt bad enough, it took us a painful 20 minutes just to close out our tab. The bartender couldnt be bothered to attend to us and left us hanging while he served other customers. No apology, no acknowledgment – nothing. We had to track down another employee just to get our tab settled because the bartender was too spineless to own up to his mistakes and give an apology. This place is a joke. Dont let the hype on TikTok and Instagram fool you – stay far, far away. I wouldnt set foot in here again even if you paid me.

We were politely greeted & seated right after having our ID’s looked at. The guacamole & waffle fries were so delicious! We stopped in for a few drinks & ordered some finger foods. The service was friendly & informative to our questions regarding their drink menu. Everything’s was great! Had an awesome time here & would defend stop in again in the future.

I would give -5 stars if I could. Service is TRASH!!!! No one cared to greet us at a table that we were sitting at for over 15 minutes. We paid $100 to literally have nothing but endless fries. Burger was not cooked to correct temperature as asked. Drinks were watered down and disgusting.

Went in there late on a Friday night with 4 of my friends but there was not much crowd. The dance floor they have was closed for some reason and there was water dripping from the ceiling at some point which I felt twice. Other then that the bars they have is pretty good. They have good theme around the place. Overall I would say that the place was decent. Not sure that the crowd was not there be cause of the dance floor or because other problems. Would give this place a 1 more try

This place was awful. As soon as we walked in and seated it took over 10 minutes for the server to greet us there were only 2 other tables... The food was under seasoned and drinks extremely mild. The glasses for the drinks are completely impractical and cause a spill every time you lift it up which the waiter did spill over my phone. I got a burger which the waiter told me comes with fries and then proceeds to charge me extra for fries on the bill. Along with other fun surprise items that seemed to pop up out of nowhere on the bill. If you actually have test Id avoid this place if you can. But if you like blondes with bad botox then this may work for you.

So disappointed. Paid $193 for 2 drinks and 2 apps we had to take home. Server never mentioned the giant portions, and there were no prices on the menu or bill breakdown. Plus, a hidden 20% gratuity? Never again.

Brunch and dinner menu are great. Wings are delicious and burgers are one of best in Hoboken. You really have to be in the mood for this brunch because its like being in a club with a loud DJ. The TVs are big and everywhere, so great place for watching sports.Beware of the prices. For their mixed drinks, they charge you extra for the actual soda youre mixing with the liquor. For a vodka soda, it was $10 for shot of vodka and $4 for the soda. I honestly would have just got water for free if I knew that to mix it with. I also think its misleading. Theres also a 4% credit card fee, so bring cash. We had a large bill so could have saved a lot of money paying cash.Also, how can you advertise a BRUNCH raffle that you have to be there for the pulling of tickets and dont do the raffle until 8:30 pm on a Sunday night?

Great bar for groups. They have a diverse food and drinks menu. I recommend the fish bowls, we got like 5-6 drinks for each of those and good amount of alcohol. Service was nice and attentive. We walked in a Friday without reservation and still didn’t have problems with accommodation.

Went for Sunday brunch. Good drink specials. $2 mimosas. $4 mojito. Beer pitcher deals. Drinks werent very strong. Fries good. Fajita ok. Chicken and waffles ok. Amazing staff/service. Good atmosphere. Good music. Nice place to come with a small group of friends to catch up. I will definitely return to try different entrees out.

Ok this place is horrible. Complete scam. Prices on menu and prices on check are dramatically different. If you don’t pay attention, they were overpricing for everything. Then it is posted that there is a 3.99% fee for the restaurant but when they bring you the check, they’re charging you 7%. It’s clear that most people don’t even realize that they’re being overcharged

Loved the DJ we got here at around 4 and the service was amazing! The music was great too! The DJ played all sorts of genres so it made the atmosphere even better!

Basing this purely on my outdoor dueling pianos experience!! The show was awesome and we got to move our seat closer to the stage. Service was good and the piano players were funny and we had an awesome time! When it started raining, someone immediately rolled out the awning, too.

Someone in my family goes there regularly and has dementia.She keeps giving money to some of the workers and pays much more than the bill is but her money is still taken.She doesnt realized she OVER tips.This shouldnt be happening. Talking to them obviously hasnt helped.Why would they take advantage of someone like this.Just wrong. VERY SORRY this was intended for Mad hatter WEYMOUTH MA

I was pleasantly surprised by my delivery experience from Madd Hatter on July 4th. The food came within 30 minutes, as quoted - I guess everyone was probably at a barbecue instead of ordering food. I was a bit iffy about this place since it didnt have glowing reviews, but Seamless had a 25% off your first order, so I gave it a shot and Im glad I did. We ordered the philly cheesesteak panini, Italiano burger (salami, pepperoni, fresh mozz, tomato sauce), and chicken bacon ranch pizza. The philly was pretty terrible. The description said it was shaved steak, but it was more like strips of flavorless steak, and there wasnt a lot of it. It was also served on this weird pita bread. If this is how all of their paninis are, I wouldnt try any of the other ones. On the flip side, the burger was actually very good. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare, and it wasnt too oily. The pizza was surprisingly good too, for a non-pizzeria. But just a warning, it doesnt really taste good the next day so I guess youll just have to eat the whole pie at once. I wouldnt mind trying some of their other pies.The Hangover Burger sounds really good, albeit heavy (stuffed with bacon, american cheese, ham, sunny-side up egg, and hash brown). Maybe Ill stop in for brunch next time!

The experience at Madd Hatter started off decent from arrival and then went downhill.We arrived on Memorial Day Weekend on a Sunday evening and immediately we found seating in a booth near the bar. We were greeted kindly by the waitress and our order was taken in a good amount of time.We ordered the Washington Mai Tai (a fishbowl drink made of Malibu, Bacardi, goslings rum, pineapple, orange, and grenadine), a Green Tea shot, Steak Baguette Bites, and Garlic Parmesan Fries.The drink came out in a good amount of time but the food (appetizers!) took upwards of 40 minutes to come out and the order was wrong.We were disappointed to say the least. In addition to the wrong fries coming out, the music was blasting on nightclub level making it hard to hear the person sitting next to me.Overall, I found the staff to be friendly, the steak Baguette was decent, and the prices are alright. Unfortunately I was disappointed by the incorrect order and the loudness.

I absolutely loved my experience at Madhatter. The second my friend and I walked in we were immediately welcomed and everyone there was so kind and friendly. Mike was absolutely amazing and lovely to talk to, he was so professional and presentable which made the experience so much better. The drinks there are amazing and the food is just as good. When I found out it was karaoke night I just knew I had to sing even thought I can’t at all. Seeing everyone sing, drink, dance and have a blast together made me realize this is the perfect place to be for a perfect night out or for just having a casual drink with friends. Overall, my experience at Madhatter was a huge 10/10! Highly recommend!!

Really awesome variety of drinks, margaritas, and the the fish bowl which is a sizable goldfish sized fish container filled with their drink specialties finished with curly straws and firework sparklers. At night they have a DJ dance party for a good time after getting smashed off the fishbowl.

Brunch with a side of lots of fun.Initially was hesitant going in there as it seemed a bar kinda place probably serving mediocre food. But the moment we were seated I was proved wrong.Our server was just awesome, doing so much to make our experience a lot of fun. She was helpful, efficient and courteous.And the food was really well prepared. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for brunch with music and fun.

Employee broke out into a rage and smashed a plate. Was told to go home, but started shouting that he needed the money. Waitresses walk around in bikinis but the tables are so close to eachother outside you can hardly get into your chair. Food and drink was overpriced and mediocre. But alas it was a beautiful day, and being served by a nearly-naked waitress was mildly enticing
