This was my second time at the academy and it was another great experience. They are students so plan on being there a while but the cost is great and we are helping them as they transition into the world of cosmetology. I am all silver and have colored my hair dark to cover it for years. They are helping me transition by foiling and toning. It will take another two sessions for sure but I am so excited to see the end result!!! You gals did a terrific job!!!! Absolutely love it so far. See you in 4 weeks 🥰

Savannah was great! She did exactly what I envisioned & was great conversation. I’m not one who gets my hair done often but if it’s her I’m definitely convinced to keep up on more regularly maintenance

Allison did a great job transforming my hair and making me feel beautiful and like a new person! She also educated me on my hair type teaching me things that I did not know about my hair and why I experienced some of the things that I do and how I could correct them. She also told me to follow up with her and let her know if by getting haircut, style and changing a few of my normal hair practices if I notice a difference. Definitely look forward to her help again !

I have absolutely loved coming to have Payton do my hair. I always leave feeling fresh and happy with my hair. I appreciate how the team works together to help each other out to make their clients happy!

This was my first ever facial and I will definitely be back. Lizzie Stephenson did an exceptional job. She was professional from start to finish. She explained the steps through out the process and told me how each product would help my skin. She had a gentle touch that relaxed me right from the beginning. Had a hot stones back treatment with Kari. She definitely knows what she is doing and it was the most relaxing 45 minutes I have had in years!! I had a particularly stressful day at work and this treatment took all the stress away. I immediately booked her again and told all my friends to go to her. 100% recommend!!! Also had a deluxe facial and express facial with Kari. Added on the vitamin C serum and my face had such a healthy glow, I got compliments from others on it!

Kayla was fantastic! Easy to talk to, great personality. Took the time to actually teach me how to care for my hair which no one has ever done. I would definitely recommend her to others!

This was my first visit and I had a great experience. The stylist was kind, efficient and professional. I enjoyed conversation with her and was impressed with how easy it was to talk with her! Often those who are newer in their professions feel awkward engaging in conversation, and things can feel very unnatural. This was not at all the case. I look forward to my next appointment!

Shellie worked absolute wonders on my hair today. After a wash with a metal detox treatment, she did a new cut with plenty of layers and face framing. Both were perfect for my natural wavy hair; it is unbelievably soft and it completely refreshed the blonde from all the hard water at home. Cant wait for my next appointment!

Sam did an amazing job cutting my 6 year old daughters hair. She was so kind, patient, and engaging. She cut my daughters hair exactly how she wanted it and curled it at the end. She even asked if my daughter wanted some braids with her curls. She was so sweet! Thank you

Morgan Boyd is a excellent student. She made sure she explained each product and was extremely concerned about my comfort and noise reduction while i was getting my facial. My hair turned out phenomenal. Maryanna was excellent and listened to my needs for my hair. It was a 7in chop, so not a small haircut. She did a fantastic job and I feel more confident and overall less weighed down by my head!

Cassie does a fantastic job every time I come see her. We have amazing conversations while she does my hair, making me feel like a friend and not just a client. I have gotten my hair, nails, and lashes done by Cassie from the start of her career and it’s amazing seeing her grow.

Hannah was amazing. Cared for what I wanted and asked me lots of questions to know what I wanted. She was not afraid to ask for assistance from her instructor which made me feel more confident in her. I will definitely have her cut my hair again.

I had an appointment today with Maiah to get a couple inches cut off and to get bangs. I was very excited to get this hair cut since it had been almost 8 years since I had bangs, but not with shorter hair, and I was ready for a change! When I sat down in her chair, a girl named Alyssa came up to me with a clipboard, and asked what we were doing today. Maiah told her with an excited voice and she seemed very shocked. It didnt seem in a positive way either. She literally said Such a big change, did something happen!? I was like No I have had bangs before but I want them again. She says Ohh okay, I just wanted to make sure nothing happend and everythings okay. I dont think she meant to offend but Im a 33 year old newish mom. That was the last thing I wanted asked before a new hair cut. I just want to share my story so maybe Alyssa doesnt upset the wrong person in the future. Maiah was great and made sure she had all the support to make sure I got the bangs I wanted. I do believe she could of done it with no help but she went that extra mile to just triple check and make sure she was doing a great job! I absolutely love my haircut and my bangs! Thank you again Maiah and Summer!!! Its still why I am giving 5 stars!

My experience was great with the students and Alissa the instructor the first night I was there. Rowan, Ava, and Josie were so kind and gentle working on the tangles in my hair.The second day Rowan worked hard and fast to get the rest of the tangles out so she could get to my haircut. My hair was long, tangled and matted.She had finished my hair by 410 and was working hard to get my hair washed so it could be cut.The second instructor informed us that the cut couldn’t happen, they allowed me to walk out of there with soaking wet hair, and uneven hair, and told me to schedule a haircut when they opened on Saturday. I wound up at another salon the same night to have the haircut.I was disappointed with how the second instruction handled things when the first night Alissa was so great.The students were amazing and I adored Rowan.If I wouldn’t have had such a bad experience the second day, I would come back just to see her.

Emily M. did a great job asking me what I was looking for. She took her time to get me looking good and feeling good with my hair.

My appointment was with Neveah. I had my hair colored and trimmed and she did a great job with both. My hair is smooth and shiny and I’m very pleased Neveah’s professionalism. She did a great job!

My brother got married a week ago & our group came here for our hair & make up. I was really nervous at first being such a shy person and knowing it was for such an important event. As soon as Kendall called me back I felt comfortable. She asked tons of questions and made sure I got everything and wanted out of this. I felt absolutely beautiful when I left there. Last minute I asked if they had any time to squeeze me in for some curls in my hair fearing I wouldn’t have enough time to do anything with my hair before the wedding. They did with no problems. Everyone was so incredibly nice & talented. I would love to come back & get my makeup done by Kendall again. She is going to do amazing things :)

Highly recommend going here and allowing these students to get their practice with cutting hair. There is always somebody near by that can help if the student needs it.

I was there recently and the staff did not communicate the prices of each service that I was going to have done, and they refused to provide any sort of refund. They overcharged me for what I had done by a student. And all they are going to give me is a free hair cut and a free style, I live way too far to make this actually worth it. Don’t waste your time, go somewhere else

Cara was amazing!! It was my first ever lash appointment and she made me feel so comfortable!! They looked so good, I was blown away!! Ive been back for another full set and a fill since then and have had no complaints! I even have another fill coming up! I found my new lash girl!! 😍 The school has always been clean and everyone Ive been helped by has been kind, caring, and professional!

Neveah K. is AMAZING every single time with whatever she does, wether it’s an easy haircut or something harder like dying hair. She’ll do her very best to make sure your vision comes to life or make you feel/look like a brand new person with what she feels is best for you and your hair journey. You will leave only wanting her touching your hair after from then on !!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this salon and Morgan! I came to Salon Professional Academy to have a perm. The stylist rolled the perm correctly, keeping the hair wet, the rollers straight and tight! She did an awesome job. And guess what, only after did i find out i was her first live person perm! BIG SMILES. Not because i was her 1st but because IT IS VERY EVIDENT that this school is teaching the girls in a way they will be successful. The instructor gave the stylist space to do the rolling but she also checked in and gave input. VERY GREAT experience.I

I recently had a facial with Alyssa, and it was so great working with her! I appreciated the level of professionalism and attentiveness she offered. It had been awhile since I last had a facial, so she talked me through all the steps and made me feel comfortable. I’m heading back to see her again next month! Highly recommend Alyssa and this academy.

Sarah (Rosalye) did my hair and she always does an amazing job. I wanted my hair darker and She gave me exactly what I wanted. She also did a protein and moisture treatment on my hair. Its so much softer now and looks amazing. Definitely will be coming back.

Haley was stellar!! Very professional and made me very comfortable during my time there. Had some neck issues with the table and she accommodated to me very well. She was polite and subtle, didn’t try to push too much on me with extras or products. Really was just a perfect experience. Would definitely come back for another back facial treatment!

I really wanted to like this place. The facility is really clean, sleek and modern. I walked in feeling good because it looked just like a professional salon. Everyone was very friendly. The girl who cut my hair was very sweet, but wore her nerves all over her face. She didnt appear confident in her abilities, and a conversation with her instructor about not knowing how to point cut highlighted that.I came in looking for a very simple long layered bob with long side swept bangs. I had about 4 inches cut off and was fine with that because it waa still long enough to be able to wear a pony tail. What I appreciate about this place is that the instructor checks out the haircut to sign off on it, and it also seems that the students are encouraged to ask for help on techniques they may not have confidence in executing. Even with those checks in place, this ended up being the worst haircut Ive ever had. I took a gamble by going to a student and I lost big time.When the student finished the cut she blow dried it and didnt shape it at all to show me the cute bob I was supposed to have. She just ran her finger through my hair while she blow dried it and it looked messy and the ends were flipped out. She also didnt cut the long bangs I had asked for. So she was about to grab her instructor to let her sign off on the cut, but I spoke up and asked about the bangs. She said she didnt know how to do them so shed need her instructor to help. When she came over I showed the instructor the reference picture and said several times that Id like to keep them long. Well I ended up with very very short pieces that Im having trouble taming.After this I just wanted to get out of this place and go home to wet my hair down to see if I could style it into the sleek bob Id been hoping for. Nope. One side of my hair is at least an inch to inch and a half longer than the other in the front. The ends of my hair are also jagged and some underneath pieces are longer than the others, but not in an intentional way. Just in a sloppy haircut way.Im definitely not going back to get it fixed there, and Im afraid to go elsewhere because I think Id lose too much length if I have to cut it to even it out and fix the jagged ends.If you come here for a cut, definitely know it is a gamble. While the staff is friendly, just know you could end up with a student who might not be at the skill level youre hoping for.

I treated my daughter and daughter in-law and myself a haircut today. My stylist Emma was amazing, she did a great job!! We are all highly satisfied with our cuts and will definitely be back and recommend!!

We had a kid’s haircut today with Alexa and she did a great job! It was a very relaxing experience for my 11 year old. Alexa did a wash, trim and curl for her. It looks so nice!

We had six women from three generations in our group for manicures and pedicures. They set up a room just for us, and all the ladies who took care of us were kind and fun. While the overall experience was good, I have to give a special thanks to Adriana who was the person who took care of my seven year old daughter. This was her first salon experience (and she was the only person in our group under age 30) and Adriana made her feel like a queen. She left with fingernails, toenails and some bonus hair tinsel - all looking fabulous - and felt truly special, thanks to Adriana’s manner with her.

Morgan did an amazing job! Love the atmosphere and love my look even more! 💕

I was a little nervous going in to get my Deluxe Spa Facial. But Esmeralda not only did an amazing job of making me feel comfortable but she also did a fantastic job making me feel the most relaxed I have felt in a long time. By the end of it I felt like I was floating on clouds. She payed attention to details and was very sweet. BOOK WITH HER.

My daughter came in for a Balayage and they screwed it up so bad she left bawling and she has senior pictures in two weeks and of course they won’t refund my money and it will probably cost me triple to have it fixed at another salon! I tried twice to talk to an owner but they wouldn’t let me! Such bad service we will never be going back there again! Here is a picture of what they called a Balayage

Have been coming monthly for a facial or a back treatment and each time has been wonderful! It’s truly relaxing and feels good to be able to take some time for myself. Esmeralda takes her time and is very knowledgeable of what she is doing. I highly recommend booking with her!!

Ive had two facials from Kaylina at this location in the last couple of months and theyve both been amazing. On my first visit, I had a deluxe facial and on the second, I had a deluxe facial with the Farmhouse products (more natural) and absolutely loved it. I highly recommend Kaylina!!!

For years I have gone to local beauty academies for cuts and colors. This was my first time at The Salon Professional Academy and I won’t be returning. Horrible experience. The student told me my color would be $33.00 for the process plus $15.00 for the color. I asked her if the color I was looking at would cover my gray and not turn my roots orange. She assured me it would cover the roots normally. $100.00 later I walked out with hot roots and an invitation to come back the next week. The instructor never came around to assist they student with the color process and to see how the color would work with my hair. I’ve never had this issue at a beauty academy before and the instructors have always been hands on. Very unimpressed!

My haircut with Brylynn was great! She gave me the best haircut I have ever gotten, and I have pretty difficult hair to cut. She gives the best head massages when shampooing too. I had a great experience with Brylynn and definitely will be following her to wherever she ends up! Highly suggest!

I had the hot stone massage, if you have never had one it’s definitely worth it! I have had two appointments with Sherice both times, it was very relaxing. She has a very calm and kind personality. she will go far in her future career. I wish her all the best!

Got a manicure and pedicure today. The students dont seem to have the tools to do good work. The instructor was unnecessarily rude and annoyed that I said the best way to remove the type of gel manicure required a tool they dont have. They dont have the proper tools to remove gel very well and had to leave some on and out gel on over top. The uv light was small and left my nails tacky and had stuff sticking to them after I left which shouldnt happen with gel.The first polish used on my pedicure was old, goopy, and not usable so the student had to remove it, redo the base coat and start with a new color.The student was friendly and kind, I feel bad that she had to put in a lot of extra time and work because of a lack of tools available to her.

We had Hannah Wolf do Abigails hair today and in Abbys words It was AMAAAAZING I really appreciated Hannahs attention to Abbys wants through the process while also respecting my request to keep her hair long enough for a high ponytail. Great job Hannah! Thanks for a wonderful experience.

I treated myself to an express facial while my pre-teen son got his haircut! The timing was pretty great. Both of us are happy with the services we had and already have another appointment. Can’t beat the value and great service.

Lauren Oviedo did an excellent job with my facial. This was the second time I had a facial with her. She’s very detailed on what the products are and what they do for your skin. She was very professional and went beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of.

Hannah gave me an outstanding pedicure on October 22 at The Salon Professional Academy in Holland. She was knowledgeable about the Morgan Taylor products she used and explained what she was doing as she did each step. She was alsofriendly and helpful. Booked an appointment for my daughter because she cut her hair. The young lady that helped us was very patient and sweet. They ended up trimming her hair and putting in a few tinsel as well. My daughter and I left happy and I even booked another appointment for myself.

Ive had 3 appointments with Annelise for face waxing and Im so pleased with the results. Im 76 & I wish I knew years ago what a difference this can make. And, surprising to me, it wasnt that painful. She explained every step, & did an excellent job each time. I already made my next appointment with her.

Instructors are great and seemed to be hands on and caring/interested in what the student and client have in the works or what they are trying to accomplish. I got highlights and really like them. Their online process to schedule your own appointment is pretty slick too. The only thing is, is if you would like to schedule more than one service, you have to schedule them individually or call. Which is not a problem for me...just an FYI for other people. It also lets you pick your “stylist.” Which I really liked but there are no pictures to go with names. I loved my person and I’m already planning my next appointment for a “pamper day” with my “person.” Also, when you schedule online, it gives you a “base” amount and minutes for this service. The minutes are pretty accurate. I was there for about three hours so plan accordingly and don’t be in a hurry. I was totally fine with my time because I planned on the whole 180 minutes but it was worth every second of my time today. I had great conversation and enjoyed my time just getting my hair done and possibly met my next stylist (whether it be temporary or long term). I would definitely recommend giving this place a shot! My experience was amazing!

Got my hair done by Emily G, my hair was a dingy green grey color going into my service and afterwards my hair was back to my natural color with a tint of auburn just what i wanted(and was incredibly soft).Emily was so excited and happy to do my hair and explained the steps and process to what she was doing. Super professional and a great experience.

I had a deluxe spa facial with Haley and it was wonderful! She is so nice, explains the process, and makes sure you’re comfortable.

My daughter went in for highlights and was quoted $52. It took over 3 hours. Grant it she has long hair but they were supposed to be concentrated only in the front with a few in the back. When she went to pay they told her it would be $82 & did not give her a receipt. She asked why the upcharge and they said it took a lot more product which is understandable. When I saw my statement they charged $102. This is not right...... for that I wont even call Ill just take my business elsewhere. && the highlight job was only ok some of them had a greenish tint.

My experience was great! I had a pedicure done and it was wonderful, my toes looked great and my feet were so soft. This school was super professional and the student Nicole was awesome ill go back to see her again. it was a super clean and professional set up and space, and the teachers were great they were always at hand and checking the students work very hands on which i loved it showed me they care about their students and giving them the best education to have a great Career. Very Impressed and I will be going back to use more of the services and the prices are fantastic.

Last week Friday I took my daughter to get her hair washed and styled, while getting her hair wash the stylist felt something in her hair. She very calmly asked me to come and look at her hair, to my surprise she had a tick. Long story short, one of the instructors ( mind you) acted very unprofessional and made it seem like my daughter had disease and was telling all the other stylist about it. I don’t plan on going back unless I really need to.

This is a fantastic place for haircuts! I had my 4th haircut by the fabulous Hannah Z. yesterday, and without a doubt the BEST haircuts ever! The staff is fun, young and dedicated to doing their very best. The instructors are encouraging and talented teachers too. Hannah is graduating and will be a wonderful addition to any salon!

Elise did a great job blowing out my hair and curling it. She’s also the sweetest person and so fun to talk to!

Had an all over color by Hannah W.I went from a strawberry blond to a dark auburn for the fall. It took a minute for me to get used to it as I was light for the last 20 years. I love it and have gotten many compliments on my new fall color.

I went in for a full set of lash extensions, and the service was great! Kennedy was my lash tech and she was very gentle and thorough! I recommend coming here.

Me and two of my sisters have gone to this place and unfortunately the service has gone downhill. On my last visit I tried to warn them that my hair pulls very yellow when bleached (had done it a few times and needed toner every time) and they refused to listen or put toner in my hair and sent me home with yellow hair. Which isnt fantastic if youre trying to put blue in your hair. The instructor just told me to mix purple in it and sent me home. Last time my sister was there, the student tending to her hair talked badly about her within earshot of my sister while the product was setting. And then just today, my other sister had an appointment for 5:30 that she planned weeks ago without issue. We showed up today for the appointment and there was no one there. The place was closed and the lights were off. They tried to call her once but she missed it and she wasnt able to get ahold of them at all to find out why they called. I assume it was to let her know that they were going to be closed. But we dont know, because they didnt leave any sort of message and didnt respond to any of her calls. Ive had good experiences in the past, but unfortunately it has gone downhill since then. I very much think we are done with this salon.

My daughter and I have found our new favorite place! First time there was an absolute FABULOUS experience! We got facials and pedis from Lexi and Jasmine. They were both FANTASTIC!!! So sweet, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable. I will be returning there quite often! Best service Ive EVER had at a salon!!! Clean atmosphere AND friendly staff as well! Love it!!!

I will give 3.5 stars because the service from the girls (students) has been pretty good, and so we continue to return.But they have to figure out a better scheduling system, we have had an issue with almost every single appt we have set up over the last couple of years (wrong time, or not on the schedule, wrong service scheduled, or only 1 out of 2 appts saved and the list goes on).I would recommend going there if you are not super picky with your hair, looking for a good deal and have plenty of time on appt day.

Sorry to say I have to change my review. I got a terrible haircut here last week and Im really upset. She was going to take off an inch and ended up taking off at least 4 inches. The first instructor, Heather, gave her instructions and was really nice about everything like she always is, but then the other instructor took over and didnt listen to the plan or give much feedback. She kept coming back and asking the woman cutting my hair why she was cutting at certain spots because it obviously wasnt right. Eventually I think she gave up because my haircut is soooo crooked. One side is like an inch longer than the other. It looks like I did it myself. Im really disappointed that after so many good experiences, I had a terrible one. Its going to take like a year to grow it all back and Im really sad about this.

Worst experience EVER ! Asked for a simple highlight retouch, came out looking like it was done in my garage by my blind Grandma. Went back to have it fixed came home a brunette. Not only could my stylist not color, my daughters cut was choppy and uneven and !!!! When she styled my hair it was so greasy and weighted down. Typically I would never write something like this but like I said this was the second time shot. Do not get your hair done here. They don’t know what their doing, like the instructors don’t know what their doing and the students will old shame you. This place is gross.

If you are looking to come here as a student I highly recommend looking at other places that will treat you with the respect you Deserve and will actually teach you. I was there for 8 months and in those months I have seen an alarming amount of students leave. And it might seem “up to date” but I promise you it is not seeing how they cut corners just to save an extra buck is Insane I had to rinse out one of my clients hair in the bathroom before because they refuse to get more shampoo bowls and/or fix the ones that are broken and get clogged. After spending an alarming amount of time having to watch YouTube videos because no one had the time to teach me the owner told me that myexpectations are too high and that I can’t always get what I want, if I knew how much of a joke this “school” was I would’ve never came here and especially for paying $18,000. I was also told I would learn about all different kinds of hair texture but instead they never taught me anything about ethnic hair even after 8 months of being there. It is a extremely white washed school and is beyond disappointing to say the least.

I highly recommend Maiah. She was very polite and professional and paid attention to the details. I love my nails and bangs trim. 🥰

Had a great experience here with my daughter the first time I brought her here. Then I went somewhere else because we didnt think they did walk-ins and what a mistake, the girl argued with us and wouldnt do what she wanted at all and was so rude and kept telling me what she thought would look right instead of what my daughter wanted the cut to be. So we ended up back here so they could fix it and she got exactly what she wanted. Lesson learned, were coming here from now on. They actually listen.

Hello, I just wanted to leave a comment about my recent experience. I had the groupon for a mani/pedi. It was honestly not a good experience. The educator was not around during the whole time. She stopped in at the beginning of the pedicure and not until the very end of the manicure. I had tried to have my student fix some things/shape my nails better. I could have painted my nails better than she did. And when the educator did come by she just said how good they looked and she had done perfect. I also noticed other students doing more during the pedicure (clipping along side the nail and filing off callous on the foot) which was never offered to me. Overall I felt very uncomfortable and was not happy with my service. I would have been so upset if I paid full price for a shotty manicure

My haircut was incredible! The girl was so nice to me. I walked in feeling down i came out strutting and sassy! I was nervous since i had never gone there before but OMG. The shampooing was so relaxing. She gave me a full on scalp massage. I could have drifted off if i wasnt afraid of snorring. Lol.

Had a groupon for a facial. Kelsey did an amazing job. My skin was glowing when I left. She was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out some products she used on my skin. Relaxing facial.

I had a really great experience at the Academy. Michaela, a student, was very skilled, professional, and super kind. The instructors are also highly skilled and seem to have a great rapport with their students. It is a teaching program with a lot of instructor oversight, so if youre not willing to spend at least an hour in the chair (despite the crazy affordable services), the Academy is maybe not the place for you. As for me, I dont mind being pampered for a while; its a rare treat in my world. I will most definitely be returning here in the future!

I attended TSPA for school to be a cosmetologist for 11 months & I LOVED it! This school is truly amazing. The instructors are always there for you when you need help in anyway whether its personal or school related. I builded relationships with the other classmates and now I have some of my greatest friends all because of school! 😊 I would recommend this school to anybody, they give you all the knowledge you need to be successful in this career, & also help getting you a job after graduation if needed! 💗

This is the worst cos school i have ever been too. the whole place is dirty and unorganized. they don’t care about anyones well being or feelings. i’ve heard from MULTIPLE students that they scam for money and typically never learn anything from their instructors. if you are thinking about coming here for their services, don’t. if you are thinking about coming here for an education, don’t. it is a scam and they will do anything to make a profit. if i could rate -12 out of 5 stars i would. that is all.

I graduated from TSPA Holland in May of 2017. Their esthetics program is incredible! As students we were able to experience working in every position available in a salon/spa environment. This prepared us for the jobs we would potentially be working upon graduation from school. We worked with clients as estheticians, took on reception duties at the front desk, learned how to market ourselves as business women, and learned the importance of being team players. All of the lessons that you are taught here will prepare you to be an incredible employee, and coworker. The moment I stepped out of the TSPA doors on graduation day I felt confident and ready to take on the world. To this day the staff supports me with anything that I may need, and I am truly grateful for that. If it were not for TSPA I would not have been able to pursue my dream of becoming an esthetician, and owner of my own beauty studio. To the owners Scott & Rachel, Nikol the admissions coordinator, and all of the amazing instructors at TSPA, thank you for all that you do every single day. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. For those who are currently searching for a cosmetology/esthetics program look no further than TSPA Holland!
