Costa Rica Ballroom is a fantastic studio. Eli and Rebecca are the owners and are wonderful people and instructors. I started taking dance lessons from Eli for Latin dances. However, he is very good at a rhythm and smooth dances so I dance those with him as well. Eli is a very kind person, a patient instructor, and is able to break down dance steps to make things easier to learn. I always look forward to my lessons.

My husband Larry and I have been part of the Costa Rica Ballroom family for many years now! A lot of people can dance but it’s a whole other thing to be able to teach! Eli and his wife Rebecca along with the rest of the teaching staff are able to break down how to dance even if you’ve never put a foot on the dance floor! As adults, life’s responsibilities often take priority over creative expression and “ play”. For Valentines day last year I told my wife we should start taking dance lessons. We tried out Costa Rica ballroom due to living close by. We really lucked out. Its been such a great experience. We have learned so much and its been fun throughout the whole process. We look forward to our lesson night every week. Everyone, including other students, are very supportive. Elie is a wonderful instructor. He breaks down new dance steps in a manner that makes them easy to learn. He can quickly analyze our style and help us make adjustments to improve and refine it.

They are fantastic instructors with a rare talent to make the novice feel comfortable. Very personable! First let me say that I am NOT much of a dancer, so when we first started talking about taking classes I had some reservations / reluctance. Eli is a great teacher, but more importantly he is so personable and professional that he put me at ease right away. He has helped us put together a routine that feels very personal and customized to our abilities and strengths. Even better, he is great at conveying the concepts of leading / following so that moves feel very fluid and intuitive. It has really increased our confidence and communication while dancing. We have been taking classes regularly and it has become a highlight of the week!

My fiancee and I signed up for an intro class to try and learn a couple steps for our first dance at our wedding. It was so much fun we signed up for a second class and were able to learn a pretty full routine for our song.The wedding was amazing and everyone was impressed with our dance and we received many compliments, even though, naturally, we had a couple slip-ups. Hello! I am a woman in my mid 40s without a dance background for some context.I am interested in learning dance to help build my confidence for an upcoming bodybuilding competition in which I will be doing a walk. I am working with Rebecca and my only regret thus far is not finding her or Costa Rica Ballroom sooner!I was so nervous about getting started as this is way out of my comfort zone. Outstanding experience! My wife and I opted for the 10-lesson package to learn East Coast Swing. Elie is an excellent instructor - patient, funny, and very positive. Highly recommend - even for people like me who are terrified of the dance floor and incapable of keeping a beat!

My wife and I were looking for something fun to do together outside of our normal social activities and dance seemed like a good idea. Wow, were we right! We have a LOT of laughs with Eli at the same time as learning various dance styles. Hes incredibly patient and has given me more confidence to try our moves out at public venues. As a somewhat reserved person with no dance background, I was hesitant to try Costa Rica Ballroom, but I am thrilled that I did. Elieser is a gifted teacher with a warm personality and a great sense of humor, and my private lessons are now the highlight of my week. Best studio around, hands down. Elie is amazing! My fiance and I are beginners and tested a couple studios around the twin cities. They all felt part of the same machine, except Cost Rica Ballroom who actually took the time to understand our wants and needs instead of just taking us in a back room and asking us which multi-thousand dollar package we wanted. Then the proceeded to wow us with their teaching. Highly, highly recommend for beginners or anyone who wants to get away from a rigid approach to dancing.

We reached out to Costa Rica ballroom to learn how to waltz for our wedding. Their 2 lessons for $99 deal is an incredible deal for the quality of instruction we received. We continued working with our instructor, Daniel, even after our wedding to learn swing. I cannot stress enough how wonderful Daniel, and the other instructors were. They are exceptional at working with beginners (I had no previous dance experience) and I highly recommend them for those wanting to learn or improve their dancing.

Eli is a fantastic teacher! My fiance are taking dance lessons for our upcoming wedding. Eli has been very accommodating with our schedule to ensure that we can learn our dance before the wedding. I showed him a video of a dance I had in mind and he is modifying it to adapt to our short timeline. This Valentines Day, my cousin and I went to Costa Rica Ballroom for the first time. The space is unique and inviting. Eli welcomed us and we took a beginner salsa class. When the class ended, my cousin and I were pumped and ready for more. Eli invited us to stay for an intermediate class that started right after ours free of charge. We learned a full dance sequence and had a great time! The instructors were knowledgeable, positive and had a good sense of humor. We will be returning!

My husband and I took some introductory lessons with Eli. It was a great experience! We learned quite a bit and it planted a seed for wanting to know more. If you want to look good on the dance floor, you have to learn technique. Eli has been excellent about helping us understand the movement and subtleties of form that can help you to become a great dancer. Costa Rica Ballroom is a great place to learn, nice big dance floor and private, nonintimidating environment to individualize our lessons. Happy with the experience and recommend.

My husband and I came here before our wedding to take a few private dance lessons for our first dance. We were nervous that we wouldnt be prepared enough with just a few lessons, but we were shocked at how much we could learn in such a short time! After our first lesson we couldnt stop saying we have to take dance lessons now, it was just so much fun. We always felt very comfortable and everything was explained very well. On our wedding night we felt confident and had fun and we will definitely go back!

This is by far the best studio around. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate. or advanced, you will feel comfortable here. I have taken both individual and group lessons, and highly recommend both. The instructors are very knowledgeable, and extremely talented dancers. But the best part is that they put you at ease, and also make it fun. You are having a blast, and dont even realize how much you are learning at the same time. I have been going here for a couple of months, and have met some really great people and developed nice friendships.

Costa Rica Ballroom performs miracles! Never did I think I could ballroom dance because I am so uncoordinated. I have always wanted to learn but thought it would be impossible even though we had tried. My husband is a good dancer and talked me into giving it lessons another try. We were lucky to discover Costa Rica Ballroom and then even luckier to have Rebecca as our instructor. She is so patient and always joyous. She encourages her students and gently corrects missteps without making me feel embarrassed. She has managed something no one else has ever done. I can now competently and confidently dance a number of dances. Now I actually even enjoy dancing. This has turned out to be a gentle, safe and extremely fun exercise for two members of the senior crowd.

Eliecer came to our school and the kids loved it. He is a great teacher and he works so well with students. I recommend him more than any former dance teacher who has come to my classes.

We took beginner lessons as a fun date night idea. Jackie was fantastic! We were nervous at first, but it was a very enjoyable and welcoming environment. She made all the dances fun and easy to learn. I would highly recommend trying out lessons here!

My fiance and I started with 2 private lessons for $99.We took our private lessons with Rebecca and she was great. She was patient with us and very encouraging. We learned the basics of the foxtrot, waltz, single swing, and club salsa.The Private lesson were the most beneficial to us.The group lessons reinforce and review what you learn in the private lessons and also give you an opportunity to switch partners if you want (they encourage switching but you dont have to if you dont feel comfortable).In the practice session, they turn the lights down and it is like a dance party. The instructors float around and give you tips or help you if they notice you doing something wrong. Also, at each practice session, a couple of the instructors demonstrate each of the learning levels, and they look awesome floating across the dance floor.We love Costa Rica Ballroom.

I have attended several classes at Costa Rica Ballroom and have found them to be both fun and informative. In particular, Ive had the pleasure of participaring in group classes taught by Eliezer, the owner of the studio. He is amazingly talented yet humble in his skill level. I always walk away from his classes feeling more confident in my dance ability, and encouraged to keep learning. The staff are clearly passionate about dance, but moreso, passionate about welcoming a diversity of people into the dance community. The instructors are wonderful! Very friendly, patient and helpful. Ive been taking salsa lessons with my boyfriend and they are great at breaking the moves down for people at different skill levels. Camila, Eliecer and Rebecca have been great to work with!

What a wonderful studio! I was given a Groupon for two lessons at this studio for my birthday from a guy friend who knew I wanted to learn how to dance and it was the best gift ever. The atmosphere of the studio was very fun, our instructor was super friendly and helpful, and overall we always left with a smile because of the fun time we had. If you are looking for a place to learn how to dance or to brush up on your moves, this is it!

My husband never thought that it could be so much fun to learn to dance!I have wanted to take dance lessons for 15 years. Finally, my husband reluctantly agreed in January to take me and we have ended up going every week. Private lessons are perfect for us. Eli is very patient, humorous, and explains using analogies that make perfect sense. I couldnt imagine trying to learn without his unique style of teaching. Friday nights have turned into Date Night for my husband and me. Our dance lesson is so fun it sets the mood for the rest of the evening.

My wife and I have long wanted to take dance lessons. Couldnt be happier with our first lesson from Costa Rica Ballroom. We started our dance lesson here through Groupon as a christmas gift for my girlfriend. I dont enjoy dancing much at all but after going here and learning a few different styles of dancing I can say I wont be afraid to get out on the dance floor. Just went for a beginners class today with my mom and we had Jacki as our dance instructor. Truly awesome experience! Jacki is very easy to learn from, is super energetic and fun!! I highly recommend coming here to learn how to dance! Life is short....so why not Tango through it.....

Eli is such a great teacher. My fiance and I bought a 2 class groupon for our wedding dance and we thought he was so good that we bought a third class right before the wedding. Everyone at the studio is very welcoming and friendly! Eli and Rebecca are both excellent teachers who are skilled at breaking down the steps and movements so that anyone can learn them. We started out just taking a few lessons to prepare for our wedding (last minute, naturally) last September, and just kept coming back! Daniel is a phenomenal instructor, and his metaphors are excellent (and seemingly limitless). We have a pretty decent understanding of the basics of slow waltz, a touch of single swing, and are really enjoying how well weve been able to learn triple swing most recently. I cant imagine going anywhere else to learn to dance.

Rebecca and Eli were terrific. They both have a delicacy and solidness in their teaching and and theyre just a joy to learn from. The ballroom is also very very nice. We are getting married and our work with them has been invaluable. And very fun too!

I dont often write a review but I want to share my experience learning with Eli and Becky. Even though these dance champions take their art seriously, they know how to break things down to small steps that can be easily followed. Were going on tour now as we are professionals - kidding! My fiance and I have been taking private instruction for our upcoming wedding dance and had the opportunity to participate in their group instruction class. Weve have worked with the staff there - Rachelika, Rebecca, and Eli - and we learned something new and helpful from each one; they have been very encouraging. I really cannot say enough positive things about Eli. We came to him for help with a first dance for our wedding and from the beginning he helped figure out what we wanted (we only had very vague ideas) and what would be reasonable given our time frame (about 6 weeks). I had a very little dance background (i.e., a couple of Zumba classes here and there) and my fiance had no background. Eli is an amazing teacher and met us where we were at. When we did not understand, he showed us in a different way, and when we still didnt understand, he would come up with yet another way until it made sense. He was patient, flexible and gave us personal attention that made us feel like he was very invested in us as individuals, and in helping us feel ready for our wedding, rather than just another lesson to get through to get paid.We actually tried another studio first and the experience was completely different. It felt very impersonal and it did not feel like they were listening to what we wanted. Eli made us comfortable from the beginning and we feel as ready as we can be for our wedding next week!

We had a great time taking classes at the Costa Rica Ballroom ! It is conviniently located in the downtown of Hopkins, so parking is never a problem. The ballroom is spacious, the environment is very inviting . The team is young, energetic and very professional! The classes are well structured and fun, you get a lot of help and encouragement from the instructors. There are different levels of group lessons, private lessons , and every Wednesday you can put what you’ ve learned into practice during the Dance Party! We are definitely coming back!

I didnt know what to expect when I first signed up for lessons without a partner and was very impressed with the progress I have made with Rebecca each week when I am there working with her individually.I would highly recommend this to anyone thats wants to learn (Like me) or improve their dance moves. What a fun time taking lessons at Costa Riea Ballroom. The most fun I have had in years of dancing. Eliecer is so skilled at teaching you dancing steps, basic for beginners and advanced for some of the most seasoned dancers. He does have the ability to make learning fun. Eliecer is a wonderful teacher. He is able to explain and demonstrate dance steps in a way that enables both the beginner and intermediate dancer to learn how to dance better. He teaches in a way that made it almost was effortless to learn. And so much fun; filled with joy and humor with music that inspires movement! I would come back for more dance instruction at this studio without hesitation.

My cousin and I went on Valentines day for the first time, we went to a beginner class and ended up staying for the intermediate class following right after because we enjoyed it so much! Costa Rica Ballroom is a lovely studio for our group of social dancers to get together and just dance twice a month. Eliecer and his wife, Rebecca, are the owners of CRB and are consistently helpful and accommodating to our needs. The dance floor and sound system are excellent, and we really appreciate their investment in the greatly improved air conditioning in this historic old building in downtown Hopkins. Both Eliecer and Rebecca have put a lot of work into making the atmosphere of their studio into an enjoyable and comfortable place to dance.

Wanted to surprise my gf by asking her to be my dance partner, took 1-1 classes to get a head start because her ballet to my 0 dance experience apart from my free styling at a club is a huge disadvantage for me when it comes to form. Didn’t think I’d get the hang of it but I did because I got a legit instructor, who’s perceptive of all kinds of methods of teaching. Don’t matter what age or culture or orientation, he teaches real well. I think it does matter why you’re there for classes because then it’s just superficial. I’m there to genuinely share a love for dancing with my gf, forget the stress of this pandemic, and just make it grand wherever I go while I’m still young. The studio itself is well fixed and decorated and lit, like I’ve stumbled into a different world, and yea it’s just jaw drop.. I dunno how else to explain it. Also after a month of learning alone, I finally took my gf there and she loved it and she’s catching up fast and next thing: ballroom gear. Thanks Eli and fam for doing what you do and just sharing your passion with the rest of us.

In preparation for our wedding, my finance and I took our first (and only) dance lesson at the Costa Rica Ballroom. Our instructors name was Rebecca Ramirez. Rebecca was SO, SO, SO approachable! My finance and I were a little timid at first -to say the least- but after about 5 minutes of talking to Rebecca and taking our first steps on the dance floor, we knew we were in good hands. She was so positive, kind and patient. We would mess up repeatedly, but she never showed a trace of irritation or boredom. She even started joking with us and gave us silly little sayings that helped us remember our next steps! For example, Rebecca would shout Question when my finance was supposed to raise his hand and lead my under his arm.... it was so funny and extremely helpful. Rebecca knew how to loosen us up and make us feel comfortable. After our lesson, we stuck around and saw Rebecca engage with a different client. The next client was clearly way more advanced than we were. I was shocked to see how quickly Rebecca adapted from teaching a couple of rookies to teaching and (AND EVEN LEADING) a full grown man of his talent and caliber. I give Costa Rica Ballroom A MUST GO. We will be back, and hope we get Rebecca again!!

I have learned so much in the past few months Ive been going to Costa Rica Ballroom. I have learned the tango, waltz, cha-cha, fox trot, and have improved in salsa, merengue, and bachata. The private lessons are where I improved my technique more. The group lessons help me be comfortable dancing with anyone and look good doing it. I love the social aspect of the group lessons. And Sunday night dance party is such a better environment than going to a restaurant and dancing. I love how in group there can be a beginning section and advanced section, so anyone can feel comfortable going. Plus I go by myself and I always have someone to dance with me.

I went my first day and was very nervous but the staff was really nice and helpful. When we first started I was getting the hang of it but start having trouble later on. As the instructor seen me and other people messing up he took time to help all of us so we can do it right. It was really fun and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to try it. I will also be going back to take more classes.

We really enjoyed our first class. We had taken lessons before with another teacher but we learned so much more in this first lesson. We will be taking many more lessons.

My wife and I purchased two beginner lessons from Costa Rica Ballroom recently.I have to admit I was very skeptical at first.I am not a dancer.but my bride wanted to take some lessons and I was willing.We had a great time and I do not regret the experience.The owners(Eli and Rebecca) are awesome people to deal with.Eli was our instructor and took more than enough time to teach us some basic steps. He is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor.It was a lot of fun to learn the steps and loosen up as well.We will be returning in the Fall.We highly recommend Costa Rica Ballroom and the great instructors they have.If you want to get a taste of what it is like, attend one of the open dances or one of the competitions.You will not be disappointed!
