Really busy at work, so AI wrote a review for me:Dirt Bar is a hidden gem among Houstons dive rock and roll bars, and its a true testament to the citys bar scene. When it comes to drinks, Dirt Bar truly shines. Their Titos sodas are a work of art, expertly mixed to perfection with just the right balance of Titos Handmade Vodka and soda. Each sip is a revelation, a refreshing concoction that hits all the right notes and keeps you coming back for more. And lets not forget about their Bud Lights - ice-cold and served with a side of rock and roll attitude. These beers are the perfect accompaniment to a night of music and revelry, and the bartenders at Dirt Bar know just how to pour them for maximum enjoyment.Despite its dark and grungy ambiance, Dirt Bars staff is the shining star of the show. Friendly, engaging, and always up for a chat, the team behind the bar exudes a warmth that belies the bars rough exterior. They are knowledgeable about their drinks, quick with a recommendation, and always ready to make your night a memorable one. Plus they are very good looking. In conclusion, Dirt Bar is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience a dive rock and roll bar like no other. With the best Titos sodas, ice-cold Bud Lights, and a staff that goes above and beyond, Dirt Bar is a true hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.

Cool little dive in downtown Houston, right across from House of Blues. Good spot to pop in for drinks before or after a concert. They don’t serve food and are generally not very busy so the atmosphere isn’t great. Good service and reasonably priced drinks. Not a place I’d go out of my way to visit though.

The staff took good, personal care of my friends and me while we visited Houston. We felt thoroughly welcomed, even though we were out-of-towners. There is an AMI jukebox on which you can play your favorite tunes! The décor is fun and casual. Prices are reasonable. Also, they are open on Mondays right until 2:00am, whereas many other nearby bars are closed that day. I recommend stopping here to enjoy a few cold ones! 🙂

Interesting bar for downtown. Very comfortable atmosphere but pretty dead for 8:00 on a friday. I would imagine it gets busier when there are concerts and things going on downtown. Service was quick and we were able to sit at the bar. Gothic style atmosphere and decent metal Style music. I would go again.

Best Rock bar in town... nothing clever or extraordinary about it, just a room with an oval concrete bar in the middle but yet something about it keeps you coming back. Great staff from the regulars to the guest bartenders always quick and friendly. Atmosphere is a rock vibe! The place to go after a downtown concert. Get the jack and coke from one of the Veronicas and take a picture with Ace costume Jack himself.Just a cool and chill hangout and a must visit during their halfway to Halloween yearly event.

I told her to ask the dude who had already served me before without providing my I.d & she said no. i waited 2 hours & watched them not ask ANYBODY for an ID. NO ONE ELSE BUT ME. so i asked the dude why they are only i.ding me & he didnt i.d me last time he said “its because he knows everybody else that was there” which he did not. i asked him why he didnt i.d me last time he said “ he trusted that i had an i.d on me” okay so why you didnt trust i have an i.d this time. It was very rude, i felt it was because i was african american.

It gets super packed some nights and hard to find a place to sit, but thats to be expected. 4 stars bc once a bouncer was shutting the garage like doors outside and it came down on my friends head.. luckily she laughed it off, but he should have been more aware. Careful with your cards here, this place is scummy and scammy. The puffy faced bar tender triple charges for the same drinks. I came in with a group of co-workers and my boss put down a card for our drinks without letting us know. While we were ordering, the puffy face bartender kept charging us for our drinks. *disclaimer* I was only at this place right at opening and only stayed for one beer.I recently did the Dirt for a quick beer while waiting on friends to arrive for an event at the House of Blues right across the street. There were only about 7 people there, so I cannot fairly judge how the crowd may be at this place. That being said, the lack of patrons did give me a good view of the place and its decor. I will say this: this does not seem like my kind of place. There is almost nothing in the place, it is like a dark grey,dimly-lit concrete box with an oval bar in the middle. There wasnt much seating. The beer was good and reasonably priced for the area. The staff was cordial and prompt.

I am sad to say that I was really disappointed in this place (and I’m easy to please). I stopped in on a work trip (alone) because I read the reviews and wanted to experience something cool on my one night in town but I felt like a nuisance to the bartender. There was no interaction. No thank you/have a good night when I was leaving. I couldn’t drink my drink fast enough to get out of there. Another guy came in and sat next to me and the bartender was infinitely more friendly to him (maybe he knew him, I don’t know). Drink was cheap, so that was decent, but I’ll always pay more for a good experience which, unfortunately I did not have here. Not worth the walk in the rain... bummer.

If youre into dark dive bars with heavy metal and rock still being played all night on the jukebox, there really isnt anywhere else you should be looking for. This is such a unique spot for downtown and its directly across from the House of Blues, so its easy to pop in for a pre and post drink from any concert. Its an easy walk from Rockets games or anything else going on at Toyota Center as well. The staff is amazingly friendly and great at getting drinks out even in the busiest times. Definitely has a rough, grungy vibe, in stark contrast to the friendly, cheerful bartenders. Despite looking like an underground music venue (intentional) the bar and bathrooms were clean and in good repair. Dont judge a book... Only complaint is that the juke box was busted, and the music was slightly on the popular side of hard. Some classic thrash or death metal would have made it perfect. Also, everyone was cheering for the home team (Astros that night), which always is awesome.
