Bartender was in her 20s and friendly in a cool old school way. She actually talks to folks and seems to enjoy her job (unlike a lot of the younger crowd these days). It’s a cool looking dive spot inside. I recommend.

Worst experience ever in a Jersey City bar, avoid coming here at all times! As a local In jersey city and also owner of a local business i have never been treated with such disrespect. The bartender this short tan curly hair girl should learn some manners and actually learn what customer service means, i was ignored for over an hour, calling her several times just to order our drinks. She had no trouble serving everyone but us, finally after several attempts she decided to do what her job is, after she treated us like garbage came back demanding her “tip” . Learn what customer service is and people will gladly tip you.After this we just left what an horrible service, never coming again.

My favorite dive bar in the world. DJs spinning vinyl on weekend nights. They left the little booths up from when it was a pizza place, very cute.

I would have loved a spot like this in my 20s, its affordable with great vibes. But the food isnt great. The soda in mixed drinks was flat. You cant play darts here even though they have a board, its just too congested.

Lucky7 is everything you love about a dive. Aside from the horrific treatment my friends and i received from the bartender last week (unprovoked), this is a place I will always drop by when in the area.

$5 beer/shot combo which is nearly extinct so thats cool.The Playlist that runs is stale though. Manager needs to be more open to suggestions, or an update to the jukebox would be cool (the bar has an eclectic vibe would be cool to hear more eclectic music)

I was surprised at the great prices at Lucky 7 Tavern. The bartenders were attentive, and the wait to get a drink was short. Its definitely a dive bar, so understand that before you go. I left off a star because i didnt stay long due to an inadequate amount of seating. This spot is worth checking out if youre into dives.

I tried to come into the bar and was not let in because I was told I was drunk. I have not been drinking all night. The bouncer assumed I was drunk do to my prosthetic leg . I walk with a limp and he didnt even bother to check to see if I had been drinking.Ive never felt such discrimination as a handicap person before.Please get a bouncer who actually knows when someone has been drinkingThis occurred March 6 between 11:10-11:15pm

Love this joint. When I lived in JC I came through all the time for a happy hour or pregame. Great bartenders, great prices cool grungy atmosphere. If youre a little high class or foofy Id stick to Hoboken but this is an awesome place if youre going to hit some of the Grove St spots after.

Great place with great wings arguably the best in Hudson county and great bartenders and cook. They play good music and any game you want to watch. Owner is a Philly fan but don’t hold that against him! Good dude

Was staying in JC cause I couldnt find a reasonable room rate in Manhattan. Was super glad I did; I found the bars here to have a much better vibe than anything I stumbled into across the river. Lucky 7 was our favorite out of all of them! Welcoming staff, fast attentive service even when most bars would be in the weeds. Looking forward to visiting NYC again, but better believe Im staying in Jersey again.

The poor mans version of Ice Spice behind the bar should not work in hospitality---let alone the general public. There is no professionalism, respect, or pride in work. The start a problem then act the victim mentality paired with her terrible attitude angry at the world needs a major adjustment before working with people. 10/10 Trash. Will not be back.

My favorite bar in Jersey City. Great people, fantastic drink prices, and decent grub. I always have a good time and never have to worry about waking up and regretting my financial decisions from the night before.

I am a regular with more than 6 years as customer. This is the first time we felt miss treated.I usually order ahead of time as the “best wings in town” usually take about 15-20 minutes to be prepared.Called and ordered ahead, told the lady (name starts with N) I was on my way.Upon arrival, sure thing wings were ready but packed as “to go” in boxed and in a bag. Told the lady I was staying and ordered beers. Unpacked and start eating. Usually with you order at the place they provided you with extra plates for the bones. When I asked her for the plates she refused and told us that since it was packed as “to-go” then there were no more extra plates for me. Can you believe this?! Square minded and mean servers can ruin your business reputation.

Still love this place. Started coming here in my 20s with my friends who lived in JC. Still come here in my 30s with the same friends. Perfect hole in the wall that does occasional events like the block party with live music and the beach (sand) party.

Nice dive bar if thats what youre looking for.

We were looking for a local corner bar to have a drink at before going to a concert up the street. We ended up getting a bar seat. The drink were reasonable and the food was great (wings and burger). The bartender was cool and made the experience that much better. We did not stay long but it brought everything we were looking for. So if you like a unique crowd, good food, and reasonable drink prices.. I highly recommend Lucky 7 Tavern

Lucky 7 Tavern is my favorite place for a night of dancing and fun. The dance floor is spacious, the lighting is spectacular, and the music selection is always on point.

Its a good dive bar with great music. Its not a very big bar but the atmosphere and the friendly environment was top notch.The service was really good. The bartenders were very friendly. I wanted to order a White Russian but said she didnt have cream so she offered a Black Russian. Then I asked if they had rum chata and she unfortunately didnt. She then offered me a mud slide. I guess she figured out what I was into. The mud slide had just the right amount of alcohol.Id come back easily.

The bar crawl decor is cool! As far as the fake bartender burning pretzels all night and then serving them to people is another story. He was low key aggravating with a superiority complex. The drinks are reasonably priced but unfortunately the super cute girl at the bar can’t make a decent drink. Overall if that’s your scene then enjoy but for me I’ll pass.

Lucky 7 is pretty much the classic dive bar in Jersey City. As others have noted it looks a bit scary from the outside. Like a dingy bar that probably has a few bodies buried in the back. I havent been out back to check for bodies so I can neither confirm or deny, but the place is usually packed--especially on weekends. Interestingly enough it isnt packed with one demographic, as yuppie, hipster, young people and old people all congregate here. Everyone is friendly though. Drinks are cheap across the board, and even cheaper when you factor in specials. Never had the food so I cant comment there. Service is surprisingly good, although the place is packed and it can be difficult to get a bartenders attention. My advice is to come here with a small group of people who are as broke as you, so you can carve out some personal space for yourselves. Im not a big dive bar person but even I have to admit this is a decent option if youre looking to get drunk in Jersey City.

The Drink specials are my favorite thing about this spot. It is a great place to sit and watch a sports game in peace. There is outdoor dining available which is a nice option just do not eat before you go, the bathroom doesnt appear to be in the best shape.

The best part was the bouncer, very chill guy and we were able to socialize with him a lotCONS: Nothing exciting about this bar. Other bars have games, live music, restaurant areas, but this one just seemed to be plainOVERALL: If youre in the neighborhood I would come here but if youre planning a trip down, there are other bars that would be on my list

Live dj good atmosphere and alot of tourists

I got lost in downtown while going to meet my daughters Mom. Turns out it was the greatest mistake I ever made. Music on the jukebox and the hospitality of the locals was amazing...I felt like everyone was my best friend...I was treated so nice there..its that dive bar that if it changes ....it will never be the same!! Please preserve the landmark ..The lucky 7.

Very good drink prices for game day. I enjoyed a couple of pints of Guinness and some buffalo chicken wings with my friends while we watched the Arsenal v. Liverpool game. Modest stomp here along with modest prices. I like that.

I like to consider myself as an avid connoisseur being that I tend to enjoy conserving money on the strongest beers for the best value. This is where you get it. Ive never been to Jersey City for a night life experience and a friend referred me to this dive bar. Crowd is mixed, which is a plus and the music selection is even better. When it comes to dive bars, music is a key essential. I actually had a few hard shots for a night cap. Not a bad place. If youre a fan of dive bars you must check out Welcome to The Johnsons in NY. Diamond in the rough.

The service was very quick and courteous here. Definitely a fun divey spot with music and fun patrons. Drinks arent too expensive especially considering the area the place is in. Would definitely come back here.

One of my favorite spots to start or end a night in JC.Wish theyd scrub up a little, maybe fix up the bathroom good and proper, maybe buy the upstairs and throw in a game room and overflow bar (and have event space for shows then). But all those are wishes its one of my favorite spots afterall

Your typical college dive bar, if that is the vibe you are going for then you might rate it higher. I am way past the college vibe. The bartenders are awesome people. Always a good time. In the weekends when they are packed to the max, it can have a sweaty smell to it.

Great dive on the corner of Coles and 2nd. Friendly bartender, cook and manager. $6 Guinness and good bar food (good pretzel, great wings, plain fries are awesome). Space isnt big, with benches and tables spaced outside on the sidewalk.

Born in JC. Raised in Hoboken. Been hanging in downtown JC for over 30 years. Great little dive bar. Great staff. Only complaint is owners should allow staff to give buy backs for steady customers. How it has always been in the neighborhood.

Its a down and dirty drinking bar. Show up as you are, in a suit or in sweat pants. Grab a stool and get a drink. The food is actually pretty good and the service is perfect. It just became my top 5 places in Jersey City to have a beer. This is a moving list so today its #1. Tomorrow it might be 2 or 3. But itll stay in the top 5 mix.

They have a lot of different types of beer and not only beer but have any drink that you wanna get. There are a lot of people most of the time but everything is on time. The staff is working really fast so you wont wait at all. I love this place. If you have free time go and check it out.

What can I say about this place.......its the classic JC dive bar that Ive been going to since Ive turned 21, which was around 2011. My favorite is their combo, a $5 beer and shot deal, which comes with a shot of heaven Hill whiskey and PBR (Patrick swayze) or Schaefer. They also have their yearly July block party that is always fun. And they have the best local DJs, playing all types of genres. So always great and consistent. Never a bad time.

This is your quintessential dive bar. You come here to bump elbows after work and late evening. Tiny place and probably pay the lowest prices in Downtown JC.Cons: Tiniest bathrooms. Tons of Smokers in the front. And if theres a DJ there are very few spots where you can hear the person next to you.

This place is awesome except for the bar tender on Saturdays. She spent alot of time taking pictures of herself and was extremely rude to multiple customers. This bar is still a great time overall

Quick and delicious! I ordered one serving of tater tots and a dozen wings for take out and it took about 10-15 minutes. Tater tots were crispy and hot, wings were flavorful and cooked well.

Got lost in JC after a date and stopped in at Lucky 7. The bartender was more than willing to write me directions to get back to my car and also let me charge my phone. Beer selection was also excellent. Will be going back again.

As a dive bar this place was such a rad place. I wanted a sticker so bad or even a coaster. The bartender was nice, the service regular, but the bar itself made it want you coming back. I would be a regular at this bar if I was a local.

Didnt stay long. Their popularity is kind of a blessing and a curse. Good bad to chill at, but gets really crowded and space is limited. So get there early

I love going there for the inexpensice drinks and great music however, one time the bouncer didnt let my fiance come in and we were going to end the night there. We had a large group party because it was an engagement party and the bouncer decided my fiance looked to drunk, which he wasnt drunk! He was buzzed! It was 1:45 in the morning so that night they lost business of about 12 people because of that. BUt still love the place hehe

I watched them tell a girl whom was standing in the bar doing nothing to walking outside and to bring a can of beer outside telling her that shes allowed to do it. When she asked what she did they said nothing but take your drink outside with you. Zero control of their staff. Pathetic.
