Best spa experience ever!!!! From the moment I walked in to when I left, the atmosphere was so relaxing. All the staff were so helpful and kind, there was always someone there to help if needed and made me feel really welcomed. I got a tour of the facility to get familiar with everything, then given a locker to put my stuff in. I loved the variety of choices in the amenities. In the women’s section, I started off with body scrub while enjoying the rain showers, then to the steam room, next a cold bucket shower and cold mist option, then my very first cold plunge pool experience, a hot tub and then a dry sauna. The co-ed section had a heated salt pool, another larger steam room (Hammam) and an Infrared Light Therapy sauna (which was honestly my favorite sauna/steam room of them all, but it does cost extra and it was so worth it). I also really enjoyed the showers available to rinse off afterwards and the area with multiple vanities to make sure you’re leaving the spa looking your best. I would definitely recommend and certainly plan to go back again!!!!
Exterior: The beauty of this place is breathtaking. The location is near Wailea shops about a 15 min walk from the hotel. Many folks were out walking to and from dinner. We used the adult pool and were out of excursions other days. If the hotel is busy you will have to get your pool or beach chair early (like 7 am) but many are already up walking and working out. I felt the beach section was small and about four rows back too compacted in for us. It is a public beach so be aware of that... Surf was rough due to storms but many said they were able to snorkel right off the beach.Rooms: We were in Lagoon building a partial ocean view but we were close to everything. Its a large property so walking far can get annoying just to get some water at the store so I guess its whatever matters to you. They are all renovated rooms and just beautiful. The nespresso machine in the room was amazing, great cup of coffee to watch sun come up on balcony it was great.Staff: Very accommodating, service with a smile, not one bad attitude or experience.Construction: The only remaining construction is the Spa Grande and we were not affected by noise at all. There was dirt/mud on the walk from their equipment but they did their best to contain.Parking Valet: There is no self parking here and if you rent a car its $65 per day. The hotel was super busy week 1/2 to 1/14 so they could not retrieve your car before you came down which often meant a 15 to 20 min wait especially at dinner time. But they hustled and did their best with the staff they had.Pool: Frankly first few days they were understaffed. Only one server for the entire adult area. You ordered a drink and it took 30-45 min to get it. Not the servers fault they can only carry so many at a time and they had to schlep down the stairs to the activity pool bar to fill orders. They should have a bar set up at the adult pool.Food: Loulu was expensive. So stop at Costco for water, alcohol etc. Breakfast pizza was delicious, so were chicken nuggets. They only had kids l with chicken nuggets so we ordered that and it was delish. Humuhumuunukuapuaa was so worth it. We paid for the sunset experience and the view was amazing. Lots of the sunset pics attached here were from our table. We had lobster and had a seafood tower, we really could have shared one lobster it was enormous. The left over meat my husband had the chef at breakfast add to his omelet and he graciously did that. Breakfast was ok, not worth $56 unless you eat alot.Overall we had a five star vacation despite what you may read, construction is mostly over and will not affect your stay and the property is beautiful. We did not do a luau dinner. We have done them before and food is never that good. This was our second trip to Maui and the most memorable. We stayed at Hyatt Regency last time.Go to Grand Wailea you will not regret it for a minute.
Nella my massage therapist was amazing and loved the option of an oceanside massage hale. One star deducted as mentioned in other reviews - aside from showers, relaxation/waiting room and a steam room there are not many other amenities.I was staying at the Four Seasons so I lounged by the pool until 30 min before my appointment but unless you’re seeking air conditioning (or LOVE a steam room), you only need time to check in and change before your appointment.
I got a 50 min lomilomi massage and came early to get changed in their robe and slippers. I used their lockers and then waited in the waiting area for my masseuse to come get me.When he greeted me, he was very friendly. He walked me back to the room and explained where to put my belongings and where to hang my robe etc. He left the room then I took my jewelry off, disrobed and lay face down on the massage bed. The room was small, cozy and basic but comfortable for my massage.I specifically asked for louder music as I don’t want to hear steps or air conditioning or people in the hallway… but the music still could have been louder. The massage itself was heavenly, his hands were strong and he took the time to make sure I was comfortable. 50 minutes just isn’t enough! I especially loved the finishing touches of a foot scrub. That was perfection! After my massage, he gave me some water and some Hawaiian snacks.I then went back to the change room and had a nice hot shower and took my time getting ready. Their facilities are beautiful and I wanted to enjoy it as I paid so much for the massage! What a wonderful way to end my trip in Maui!
What a disappointment. The amenities are seriously lacking for what they charge ($350 for 80 min.) Yes, the robes are wonderful, but the rest of amenities are terrible. I arrived to a cold steam room that burns your eyes with lavender mist. When I told the attendant that it was cold, he said, well some guests dont like it hot. ITS A STEAM ROOM! There is also plain water (no flavored spa water), no snacks and a terrible, sugary ginger tea. I can only hope that my massage is woth it.
I reserve 5 stars for only spas that have amenaties that includes soaking pool of some kind ( they did not) Sauna (they did not) Use of hotel pools if at a resort and not a guest (they did not)Cold plunge (They did not) . Steam room (they did have this and it was lovely. With Eucalyptus infusion). Robe/slippers and lockers were available. As well as snacks/tea/gem and tinctured water (they provided)Having said that, I will say their staff is very good. My masseuse was Carrie Haber she is truly a healer in spirit and energy. She gave me a perfect deep tissue 80 minute massage. She gave attention to everything that needed healing with her soft yet firm hands. She gave the perfect pressure at every spot.I appreciate her kindness of spirit and walked away from there floating. Carrie was the best part of my experience there.Despite their lack of shared amenities it was an amazing experience. Yet I have to stick to my 5 star standard for rating.
My husband and I came to have a nice spa day celebrating our anniversary. I had high expectations since this is a Four Seasons Hotel. I’d say it was a mediocre massage at best. First off, it was very disappointing that the womens steam shower was closed. I feel they should have made up for that in another way, considering they don’t offer much besides a locker room and regular shower. The massage thermos had was nice but the whole experience felt rushed and not as relaxing as I had hoped. To me, it definitely wasn’t worth the expense. I’ve had a much better massage for half the price. While I’d love to stay at the Four Seasons next time we visit, I would definitely skip the spa.
I had a couples lomilomi massage with my husband. Our masseuses were Warren and Ariana and I cannot say enough about the whole experience. They were professionals, the techniques and oils used were so nice and unique. It was so wonderful. I had tension dissolve in places I didn’t know I was carrying stress. Warren had done techniques I’d never experienced before and it felt amazing and he and Ariana worked great together in the room. It was my husband’s first massage and he thought it was amazing. I was notified multiple times the women’s steam room was down so it was a pleasant surprise when it was working. Most other amenities were on par with other four seasons spas. Also a huge shout out to how wonderful the spa music was. I’ve been to so many spas that have had terrible music and it makes it tough to relax. I will be back.
Not a lot of bang for your buck. Came here with gfs on our annual trip. Spa amenities were under construction, massages took place in hotel rooms and we were not given access to the empty pool. However, we did get hefty bills and ice cold water. Not exactly a Four Seasons experience. Well be going elsewhere this year.
Not a lot of spa amenities/relaxation/hydrotherapy for a resort this size. The therapist seemed uninterested in my massage, it seemed he was just going through the motions but not putting a lot of intention into it (even with more or less pressure). I spoke to other guests who had a good spa experience, so maybe mine was an anomaly.
The beach view couples massage was an experience unlike any other. The service we experienced was exceptional from the moment we arrived to when we left and the treatments were luxurious.
My first experience at a four seasons spa and it was amazing. I will always go to a four seasons spa if I have the opportunity at every vacation now, you’ve made me a loyal customer!
Got a huge allergic reaction after the body massage... I do not have any allergy nor never had a skin allergic reaction in my life. We stayed at Four Seasons for our honeymoon and always wanted to do a hotel couple massage and the spa here had Hawaiian special massage treatment, so I was very excited to try. It turned out, Hawaiian massage is way too mild that even I had to tell the massager to do more stronger. (I usually cant handle body massage/pain well so I always do most less strong less painful massage, but this one felt like a baby rubbing my body skin.. Of course my husband who is super numb in pain later told me he did not feel anything lol) But all the staff there was super kind, interior and the amenities they had (they had separate locker, give you makeup remover, can take shower after if wanted etc.) was great. They gave us a snack and water after the treatment which was also nice too. We did 50min session and honestly it was not 50mins. They dont do 50min massage non-stop, I would say it was more like ~40min massage for the most. They do something, probably preparing? in between massages and let us just lay down and wait for them, but finish right after 50min from starting time. When they said they are done, I was super surprised because I did feel it very short and felt like nothing really happened.. And like I said in the beginning, I got super bad allergic reaction after the treatment. I even went back to spa to tell them what happened to my skin after, they gave me hydrocortisone and told me to take Benadryl then it should go down. I used the orange scent oil, not sure why this happened, maybe the oil did not work well with my skin or oil itself was bad? I do have a sensitive skin but...thinking they should use non-allergic/good product that should not react to anybody, this is very unfortunate. After spending over $500 for couples massage and getting this reaction was definitely not what I expected... Still giving 3 starts because I really liked people there and their services, but would never go back. *The picture is taken after 9days of treatment. Reaction started about a day after spa and still lasting, was much worse rashes, red and swollen, but fortunately starting to get better...
Great location in front of one of the best beaches on the island. Amenities were great with shuttle service and pool. Rooms were great with lots of amenities as well
Really disappointed the main spa was shut down. Thats what made it so great in the past. I cant justify the $200 facial price without it.
The staff were absolutely lovely. The grounds were gorgeous. I will definitely return.
The esthetician I had was amazing. The atmosphere was soothing and relaxing
This entire resort is amazing. Maybe the best resort on the island honestly
Its the best for a reason. Wife approves.
Found my heaven on full earth
Massages with the oceanside view.
I will always come back here.
