LaVida Massage

I have been waiting for a long time to write a review on this place. But Im finally fed up. After them cancelling on us six times in a year, I have had enough. Two of those times being Valentines Day and our Wedding anniversary. They apologize and say its not their fault because a therapist doesnt show up. But a business has control of who they hire. Most of the time we dont find out that our massage is cancelled until we show up for our appointment. The first three times they would not offer any compensation. Finally they offered an upgrade for free essential oils. And then the next time they gave us a massage for free and now they are giving us a 30 minute upgrade for free, all of which I appreciate. But I just want a massage when its planned and scheduled. I have a bulged disc in my back and massages help alleviate the pain. When we get the massages, they are actually rather good, that is why I am not giving less then 2 stars.

This was my first time at LaVida, I have never had a better massage in my life. Ali was phenomenal and extremely professional. The front desk staff was also helpful and very kind. I will highly recommend Ali to my friends and family!

Could not rate high enough. Me and my husband came in for a couples massage and it was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had. I had Ali as my masseuse and my husband had Linda. We were both extremely happy with our trip here! My body hasn’t felt this good since I’ve been in my early teens. After having a baby especially, all of my pain areas were treated and we will most definitely be returning soon!!

I got my massage by Candice at the Livonia, MI location. I am feeling very unsatisfied with my massage. I feel like the massage was mostly just rubbing the oil into my skin, not massaging. The areas I told her I wanted worked on, were barely touched. I also am pretty positive she was using her cellphone multiple times during my massage. I noticed the hand movements change when I thought this and felt the phone by my feet and her tapping on it when she was rubbing my legs.I emailed the location last week about this experience and my dissatisfaction, to which I have heard nothing back. Such a waste of money, don’t even bother wasting your time and money at this location. They clearly do not care about their customer satisfaction.

3 years has gone by since my original review and things have defiantly changed at this location. Changing my 5 star review to a 1 star. I have been a member at this location since 2011 and Im not sure how much longer I will keep my membership. Last Friday 06/14/2024 I had a 2 hour massage booked with my favorite massage therapist. Huge surprise, when I was called back for my appointment... it was with a different therapist. I would never book anything more than a 60 minute massage with a therapist I do not know. Somehow my appointment was rebooked with a different therapist without my knowledge. Thats like going to the hair salon to get your hair done by your favorite stylist and you show up to find out you are booked with someone else. This is not the only issue I have had here but the one that has impacted me the most.

I had a massage booked with Pam. She did a fantastic job and was a great masseuse, so I gave two stars, but I had scheduled a 90 minute session beginning at 1:30 and she was out of the room and done at 2:45. We did not start early either and it took her some time to come into the room to begin the massage. I was very disappointed since it felt like I did not get my money’s worth for the proper appointment length. I hope this is not the case every time at this location.

The service was amazing and walking in the door it instantly put you in a state of Peace and tranquility.you most definitely want to stop in for some self care self love and while youre there grab a membership.

Just had a prenatal massage here and was scheduled for 60 minutes. The massage was definitely less than that, since I was in the parking lot at 3:20 and the massage was done by 4:20. I specifically said my lower back was the point of concern, but my massage therapist spent maybe two minutes on my lower back. There was no glue or hip massage, which I understand can be uncomfortable but is an expected part of a massage. Overall wasn’t a terrible experience but was pretty disappointed, as this was a gift to me for my baby shower and not something I would typically spend on for myself.

More of a full body lotion application than a massage. I came with a knot in my shoulder and a tight lower back and I left the same way despite asking for pressure. I’m 6 months postpartum and have serious tight muscles and pain and I’m pretty disappointed with the experience especially for the price. Also, the receptionist forgot to have me fill out the first time patient form before receiving my massage.

Made an appt 2 weeks in advance, showed up for the appt 15min before scheduled time and was told the therapist I had the appt with quit a week or so prior & they couldnt honor my app that they had confirmed with me the day prior. Was offered a $10 aromatherapy add on to reschedule for another day. Had I cancelled 10min prior to the appt ld of been charged the entire massage cost but they couldnt let me know I no longer had an appt? Will not be returning.

Showed up for an appointment 15 minutes before, when I walked inside I was told they had just one masseuse working. They said they “tried” called me when I didn’t receive any calls. I was not even offered a discount. Terrible place, do not recommend.

Sincerely the worst customer service experience I have ever had. Front desk personnel are incapable of passing messages on to management.When I finally went in person to speak to the manager she had not received any of my messages. When asking to speak to the owner due to the lack of communication from the front desk staff regarding my intent to cancel, I was handed a cancelation form that stipulates that I use all of my credits and get charged again for the next month. (They still have not called me a week later) I made note of my intent to cancel when I had been called by an employee about billing over a month prior, and was never informed of the need to come back in person to do so. The only calls I received were to get my billing updated so they could charge me for for a service I intended to cancel months prior.I strongly advise against any sort of subscription with this business. They are either dishonest, or have the worst communication of any organization I have ever come across.

The staff was very kind and professional. I loved my masseuse Roberta. She was able to help ease the pain from a pulled muscle. And it was great to finally get a much needed relaxing massage since my last one was before covid.

I’ve been coming here my whole pregnancy for prenatal massages and I look forward to it every month! Love the membership they offer and everyone I’ve had is fantastic! Dominique has done majority of my massages and she is really good and so sweet! Front desk is also super professional and so kind! ☺️

I feel mislead on the pricing. Online says $69.95 for first time guest and they charged me $79.95 once I got done with the massage even though it was my first time. I pulled out my phone to look up the pricing that I had saw and before I could look it up the receptionist picked up my gift card and started charging me. I dont feel good about my experience here and wont be coming back. The massage was ok, but not the best. Just left with a bad taste after feeling like I got bait and switched.

They were able to get me in fast and accommodate my needs like always I have been coming for 3+ years

I have always received great service at LaVida Massage in Livonia. Staff is very courteous and professional. Dominique is my favorite masseuse! Must give her a try.

Been going for decades, they always have very good therapists to choose from and I can easily endorse this location. I have been doing message therapy for 30 years and am happy to have such a reliable location close to me. The office staff also are great, friendly and always very helpful.

The massage was great and had me feeling light on my feet after. I also really enjoyed how friendly the staff was and how quick and efficient it can be overall. I’ve had a few massage therapist perform my massages and they are always great, really enjoyed my massage and conversations with staff. 😊

I had a 60 minute massage today with Dominique and she was amazing. She checked in with me often to make sure that the massage was comfortable and the pressure was comfortable,. She knew I had sciatica and worked specifically with me for that. Highly recommend!

This is one of the best and most professional massage places i have ever been to. And I will also mention that we are members of this company as well. And when you become a member your massages that you dont use, they add up in your account and do not expire. You can even gift 🎁 massages to friends and family. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere even in the waiting room and the actual massage room is so calming and soothing! Highly recommend to try them at least once.

The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff overall are welcoming and friendly.Ive also received prenatal massages here and it has been such a blessing--Roberta is fantastic!!!

La Vida Livonia is very clean, calm and relaxing. Everyone was friendly and Sonya did a great job getting out my sore spots. I will be returning soon.

I was hesitant at first, but if I could put 6 stars, I would. This was my very first massage EVER, and Britany was absolutely fantastic! Im a side and stomach sleeper, so shoulder, neck, and lower back pain happen on occasion. I feel like a new person and I was totally relaxed. I will definitely come back especially after one of those stressful weeks of work. I physically feel better too! Im thankful to my aunt who paid for my first visit as a gift and talked me into trying it. 🙂

Zac is the best! Ariel & Roberta are great!! I’ve been coming here for 7 years, & I love it! But this last time I had a bad experience with the old face rest and the wobbly table! I felt like I was going to fall! But my massage therapist was amazing as always, Just need new equipment!!

Consistent service and have loved the two therapist that I have had for three plus years of being a member.

Appointment times that fit my schedule were difficult to find (I work M-F, 9-5) and when I did get massages they were inconsistent between massage therapists and did not start on time. I found somewhere else that has much better time option, a massage therapist who listens to my concerns, and one who starts on time and goes the full 50 minutes.My biggest complaint is that I was pressured into getting the monthly subscription last year but ended up not using it because I couldnt find appointment times that worked. I have been trying to cancel my subscription since AUGUST 2022. It is March 2023 and they charged me. First time I called they only paused it and it started back up without my knowledge. Second time I called they said I had to authorize it with my signature and sent me an email to sign and send back (I dont have a printer/fax). Finally, I went in and signed the paper and the receptionist said she would leave it with the manager and the manager would email me once it is completed. Still heard nothing. I called in and they tried, again, to say I needed to sign the paper from the email and they would cancel my subscription after April 1st, meaning they were going to charge me for another month. Fingers crossed they listened this time and I dont see a charge from them on April 1st.I dont blame the massage therapists for their poorly made schedule but I absolutely do blame the manager of this location. They are terrible to work with and predatory with their business practices. I definitely recommend finding a different location that has a better manager who actually cares about customer satisfaction.

My prenatal massage was amazing, and my massage therapist Sonya was wonderful. The app is super convenient for scheduling and the staff at the desk were so kind and helpful. The facility is clean and modern. Everything was easy and the massage was so relaxing.

If youre looking for a good massage thats reasonably priced, this is the place. Friendly staff, with low wait time. This is not the place to go to if youre looking for that soothing and relaxing ambience from the moment you walk in until the end.

My wife, and I love Lavida message. We get a couples message every month. The girls at the front desk always great us with a greeting and a smile. they are always courteous. Themessage people always give us a great message.

Lisa was great! I have been dealing with issues in my neck and my back on and off over the last year due to working from home and my neck has been a consistent problem for me over the last month. Im very happy to say that Ive been pain free for the last 4 days since seeing her on Thursday afternoon! I am truly grateful for her help in making me feel better and I look forward to having her work on my neck and back again!

Very clean facility…desk staff are very friendly and helpful.I had Ashlei for a 2 hour custom massage early April. I have had many good massage therapists over the years that I have been coming here…..but she was the best by far!She asked what areas I wanted her to concentrate on and she did exactly as I asked!

Everyone is very friendly and helpful, however my biggest issue is that when I called to schedule our appointment, I specifically asked for someone that would do a true deep tissue massage. I had my massage with Lisa and that was not a deep tissue. I will say, it was relaxing, but by no means was it what I wanted so I ended up paying for a massage that I was expecting knots to be deeply massaged. Im disappointed to say the least that one of the receptionist recommended Lisa for my deep tissue massage.

Came in for a 60 min massage. The receptionists was lovely to deal with. My massage therapist was Sonya. She took me into the room at 415 she gave me about 5 mins before checking on me to start. It then took another minute to get adjusted (prenatal massage). She worked my shoulders and truly relived the tension. The massage was completed at 515. I was slightly disappointed as the massage wasnt 60mins from start to finish like the other places I usually go to.

Love this place! I have been twice. I had two different massage therapists each time (Robia & Brittany). Both were very attentive and professional. I would highly recommend this location

Just had a 60 minute session with Roberta and it was wonderful. Her chairside manner is great. Would highly recommend her, she always asked how I was feeling and if the pressure was good the entire time.

Ive been coming to LaVida for awhile, and love it there! The membership program is well worth it, and I find myself always looking forward to my next appointment. Its a pretty, tranquil facility that gives off a sense of peace and relaxation as soon as you enter. I see Keisha and I cannot recommend her enough! Shes sweet and kind and really listens when you tell her where youre hurting. Her technique is soothing and can ease away any tension you have. I had a long standing shoulder ache, and Keisha worked it away with a skill and ease that really says to me shes a top tier massage therapist! Book with her and you will walk away feeling like a new person!

I went in for a 60 min deep tissue massage with Dominique who was amazing. Dominique focused on all the troubling areas for me and really helped release all the tension in my muscles. By far, this was the best massage Ive had. Thanks Dominique!

The staff listens to the client when they speak about their discomfort and areas of discomfort. They make certain to allow adequate time before to get ready and then ready to get dressed after the session. They use soothing aromatherapy. The music is quiet enough to be soothing and calm but loud enough to not hear anything going on outside the room. The massage therapist asks questions about discomfort and pressure during the massage and answers any questions you have. My only recommendation, not a complaint, is that they should offer a complimentary bottle water after the massage.

Great massages. I have been a long-term client going here for years. Their staff is understanding and willing to work with you to make reasonable accommodations.

The clerical staff are always super sweet and friendly. But most importantly…Barb is a gift from the Gods. For real. She’s healed my broken body and I can actually enjoy playing with my son now. I am so happy to have found her!

I had a deep tissue massage with Raquel today. She did a fantastic job and focused on the areas I mentioned. She is both professional and skilled. My husband also had a massage with Alexz today and was extremely pleased with her abilities. We highly recommend both of them. Additionally the office staff are both friendly and helpful. Received a prenatal massage today from Barb and it was amazing. Very attentive and made sure I left completely satisfied. Everything was very clean and very relaxing immediately upon arrival. Will definitely be back!!

My fiancé and I get regular massages at LaVida and they have always been top notch! Shout out to Lisa and Raquel for being the best of the best at LaVida! From someone who use to work at a day spa I can’t tell you how long it took to find a therapist that understood my needs and listened to what my problem areas were. I’m so glad I found Lisa as she is amazing at what she does and I always leave feeling so much better! My fiancé absolutely loves Raquel! I made an appointment with kim. Setting my appointment was easy and went well. When I arrived, the waiting room is nice and the staff was friendly. I did not have to wait long before Kim came and got me. She was very nice and helpful. I have a lot of medical conditions and I explained to her most of my body is in terrible pain and certain areas, you can not touch. She went over everything and made suggestions. When the massage began, she always checked with me to make sure the pressure was okay and she made sure I knew to tell her if I needed her to be lighter or more pressure. The massage was wonderul. Kim is great at what she does and she really seemed to want to help make me feel better. Today is the next morning and I still feel great. I was so nervous to try a new massage place , as I said Im in a lot of pain and they have to be careful with me. Yet, she did great. She was gentle where needed and really got into the stress knots and muscles where my body allowed. Overall my experience was amazing and I will be going back.

Dan is by far the best massage therapist I ever had!! He does very detailed work and i always leave feeling relaxed and so much better. He is worth every penny. I highly recommend him!!!

I came here with my Husband for our wedding Anniversary to us both I have had a message like 15 years ago but he never had one and was kinda nervous but both lady’s that did our couple massage where very nice, patient and caring. I sighned up to be a member and my husband and I feel relaxed he even wants to go again as well .

I have been getting massages here monthly for over a year. Great Staff all around! The manager Z is responsive, the Receptionists are cheerful and the Massage Therapists I have had are all amazing at knowing where to find and release the tension in my muscles.

Jasmine which was the best there disappeared. One massage therapist was overly chatty and rambling about brain aneurysms. You get charged if you can’t make your appointment but but the massage therapist are often late (you don’t get the full 30 min) and they cancel on you at last minute. Thank you Alex for canceling my appointment at the last minute also when I really needed to come in. I will find somewhere else. Unprofessional and disappointing especially with someone who was a loyal customer.

I have a membership here and I love it. I almost always upgrade to the 90 min massage. Im not a really good planner so Ive had several therapist and always leave very relaxed and pain free. Wonderful staff, clean, and professional.

Had an awesome massage with Raquel!! I had problems with my hip and she worked on it ... okay, that wasn’t fun, but it helped! Am definitely going back. Oh, and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. All in all, a very good experience.

I seen Lisa for a 60 minute massage. She told me that she was some sort of tissue connect specialist, She also mentioned that she had her hands wrapped because her skin condition was bad. Out of 60 minutes, she probably massaged me for a total of 5 minutes, the rest was her tapping her fingers all over my body, which I could barely feel. There was no compression or kneading. I came for a massage and I got finger tapped for 55 minutes, for this tissue release practice that I didnt ask for. Im not very happy about it and I plan to speak with management.

The massage therapists for the couples massage were great. They both are effective listeners and provided an experience I wanted to create for my partner. They worked all areas of concern and created a safe space.

Beware that you will be wearing a mask for your entire massage, even while face down in the head support on the table. It is very hard to breath much less get into a state of relaxation. And, even though you are required to wear a mask, the staff is not required to be vaccinated. Another guest asked the receptionist if she was vaccinated and she got an attitude about the question and refused to answer. Clients need to protect staff by wearing a mask, so it only makes sense that staff should be vaccinated to protect clients. They told the guest she was required to wear a mask because they consider themselves a health facility, and as far as I know healthcare workers are required to be vaccinated. So, I dont see why the question was out of line. My doctors office is open and honest about staff vaccination.

I have been getting massages from Alexz at LaVida in Livonia and she the best! She is very professional, knowledgeable and an awesome massage therapist. The staff is great, the facility is clean and they offer many options for services. I always leave feeling rejuvenated. I would recommend LaVida Livonia to anyone!

Went there twice first time was fine, second time was also fine but when I paid with gift cards the second time it left a $25 credit on my account. I asked it be put back onto my gift card but they said they couldnt do that, but it would be in their system for next time I scheduled an appointment. I went to schedule my third visit a couple months later and they said there is no credit on my account. I asked them to double check and the phone operator was very short with me. In the end they simply said nothing was on my account and therefore they wouldnt honor the $25 credit they assured me would be on my account after my second visit.So in short, they have good massages, but its not worth getting robbed. Personally, Im never going here again.

I have been a member for over 5 years, and I love the experience every time I go. My therapist Raquel is awesome. The ladies at the front desk are wonderful. I recommend Lavida to all my family and friends.

Scheduling an appointment was great but thats about it. Masseuse Calais came in room with freezing hands and all she said was sorry. She was supposed to do a deep tissue massage but all I got was a lot of lotion on my body and a little pressure on my back. I did not feel any difference after the massage. The massage room was cold too. I wont be going to that location ever again. Hopefully other locations are better.

My lady was Lisa and has a great soft method of massaging. She knew the areas of what was tight on me and loosened them up. I enjoyed my massage very lovely lady she is a keeper.

Great experience at this location with massage from therapeutic to relaxation. I have tried every therapist there and all have something great to offer. My most recent visit I needed a therapeutic massage. Explained to my therapist what was going on, where I hurt, and let her take over. I walked out feeling like a million bucks.

Sonya is very knowledgeable. She helped ease my back pain.

Went in for a couples massage with my boyfriend. We had Thomas and Raquel, both amazing and both had their own styles of massaging. Will definitely be going back in the future.

I have been coming to the Livonia location monthly, for about 1 year. Barb, has always done a tremendous job, she listens to your aches and pains and applies techniques accordingly. The staff has always been friendly and very accommodating.

I bought this as a bday gift for my boyfriend and a friend of mine gifted me one as well. Service was amazing! I had Roberta and she did an amazing job! Definitely will be back!

Just finished a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Abe. His massage was the most unique Ive ever had. He paid special attention to the areas I requested, but didnt leave anywhere unattended. This was the best massage Ive had in a long time! Thanks LaVida, Livonia and Abe for a relaxing session today

Excellent service. Therapist Alexz is very skilled and was able to recall/discuss the muscle pains that I mentioned in my previous session. This place is neat and clean and the front desk staffs are very friendly.

Great experience. I have the membership and its totally worth it. Scheduling online makes everything super simple and they are open later in the evening, which is perfect. Thomas always provides a great service.

Update to previous 5 star review, its just not what it used to be. The great people have moved on, and the couple of good ones left are impossible to book. Time for me to say goodbye as well, I guess.

It took 3 phone calls to the office just for someone to answer the phone. I called at 9:30, (It says they open at 9), again at 10 and finally got a hold of someone at 11:00. After I got a hold of someone, the receptionist was very friendly and nice, everything was going good from that point... until the massage started. He was sniffling the whole time, I can not relax when it sounds like you are going to drip snot on my back, I asked to focus on my neck and back... the focus was more on my shoulders and when massaging my neck, it felt like he was trying to choke me. I am giving it 2 stars instead of one because part of this is my fault.... I didnt tell him. IT HURT!!! Most of the massage felt like he was digging his fingers in my muscles, I wanted a Swedish massage, not a deep tissue. However, I did not tell him it hurt because I felt like he knew what he was doing and maybe thats what my body needed so I let it go. I went home that day and could not move, I went to bed in tears with an ice pack on my neck. I came to work the next morning and can barely move.... this was NOT a relaxing massage, this was a painful one and I will not be back. Not to mention you can hear every conversation that goes around their office from the room. I have had plenty of massages before, and this was by far the worse!

I have going to this location for a couple years now and have always been treated with respect. Raquel is a fantastic masseuse and I will continue coming here in the future! Highly recommend!

Roberta was AMAZING! She addressed all my trouble points and I included stretches to help with all the mileage on my body! I will definitely be back for more! Might even consider a membership!

Asked masseuse to apply more pressure over and over, never got anywhere. Had a facial and waited 20 minutes before she started. She rushed through everything and didnt tell me anything she was applying or doing to my face. Signed up for monthly charges and they made it difficult to cancel.

LaVida Massage Livonia is wonderful. The ambiance the minute you walk in, the friendly desk staff, the cleanliness of the bathrooms and massage rooms and the wonderful massage therapists. I would highly recommend visiting LaVida Livonia.

Not only were they open on the weekend, which is very convenient, but my masseuse asked the correct questions to know exactly what I was looking for it. Highly recommend.

I just got a massage from Raquel, I went in there extremely in pain with knots all over but mainly my right hip down to my toes! I walked out jumping n smiling! This girls massages are a drug, she should be named “pain killer”!!!!! Highly recommended!!!! Very satisfied! I’ll see u soon!!! :)))

Inflexible, I received a gift certificate for this location when I called a couple times to make an appointment I was continually told they were all booked. on the day my gift certificate expired, I tried calling one more time still no openings. I then asked if they could extend the expiration date by one day (it was issued in March and expired today - really three months I work fulltime) in the hopes they had an appointment for tomorrow, but they refused. I asked to speak to the manager, but I was told she wouldnt be in till Wednesday. When I asked if someone else in charge was availabe they said no, but I could call back on Wednesday. Clearly they dont need any new business.

Very relaxing atmosphere and always come out feeling amazing. I have a lot of back problems and the masseuse Alex always makes sure that she spends time on the areas that I request.

Signed up for the 3 month deal. Used 2. Was pretty good. Called to schedule 3rd. They said sorry it expired 2 days agoWtf. How about a reminder call or email? Because of that not going to any of them anymore
