Went looking for the best mimosa brunch that Long Beach had to offer. Lo and behold I stumbled upon this establishment that offered bottomless mimosas which did not disappoint. The menu a Spanish inspired dream full of tapas, delights and paella that you think was made for the gods! I decided on the tapas sampler to enjoy a taste of all they had to offer. My friend a French toast that looked like a flower of ambrosia. Delicious, visually stunning, and Zoe, the messenger of the gods kept the champagne flowing with the utmost of care and service. Seriously you must come for their brunch. My recommendation ask for Zoe for there is no other server and bringer happiness better to suit your needs.
Went on a second date on a Sunday night in August. Bad choice. The place is loud, hard to have a long conversation. Food is okay, parking is tough to find. We had the lamb sliders, the shrimp with peppers, and the calamari. Sliders were very nice, could really feel the caramelized onions. Calamari was alright - clearly not healthy. Service, especially getting the check, took a while.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile. The waitress and everyone who assisted us were very friendly. The food was delicious. We sure will be returning to celebrate another birthday. I love that I was able to take the cake for my friend. Loved the atmosphere of the employees. I recommend all of these in the pictures.
I was lucky to visit when they had live flamenco music. It was lovely.I ordered the olive bread, grilled pulpo w romesco and tortilla española. The pulpo was excellent, the bread was warm and toasted. My only (small) issue was the tortilla española which didn’t seem fresh, or made for me, and was a bit dry. But overall great. I tried the flight of vinos and they very good. For more you can see my IG page @mybearyspanglishkitchen
Reservations were easy to make. However, I wish I had found this place sooner so that I could reserve a 7:30 time instead of 5:45. I heard they have a show sometime around 8:00, but we didnt get to watch it due to our reservation time.We were seated promptly in one of the cute booths. Our server was also quick to come to our table and explain the menu.My husband ordered the Ibèrico Old Fashioned. As our server brought the drink, he lit the cinnamon stick that was placed in the drink. We immediately smelled the sweet but smokey scent in the air. He enjoyed the drink very much.It was happy hour until 7:00pm so we decided to go with Tapas most of the night for two reasons. They were 50% off and this was we can try multiple items. Halibut & Shrimp Ceviche, Marinated Olives, Gambas Al Ajillo, Scallops A La Plancha, Albondigas Al Jeréz con Chorizo, Baked Empanada Duo, Braised Short Rib Coca, and the Seafood Paella Marinera. We enjoyed all of the items minus the Braised Rib order. I think if we ordered it first, we would have finished it. But it was one of the last things to be ordered and I felt it lacked flavor compared to everything else I tried. Because I wanted to save room for the paella, I did not finish it. My husband and I do not have big appetites to the portions of the Tapas along with the paella were perfect for us. We left content for the rest of the night.Lastly, our reservation was for 5:45. We arrived a few minutes early but did not have to wait. I am not sure if there is a time limit on your reservation however we stayed for about 2 hours and never felt rushed. Even as it neared the show time and they got busier. I really appreciate that because I was able to try so many things in the menu. With that being said, we cant wait to come back and try more Old Fashioneds and food.
First date? Night out with girls, or just for a happy hour. This place has the best cocktails in town. And the food is amazing. Variety of Spanish cuisine.Live music on Fridays.Did I mention their brunch? So enjoy your time at Sevilla and share your experience : )
Café Sevilla describing themselves a Spanish restaurant should fall in the category of cultural appropriation if anything they are span-ish. Probably opened by someone who once went to Spain, tried the food liked it and decided to make a terrible version of it. The food was actually terrible. The dates with bacon were burnt, so were the salchichas who were somehow cold and tasteless at the same time. The shrimp was awful, couldnt even eat it. The croquetas were not croquetas but just fried cheese balls and the meatballs taste like flour. I was sooo disappointed. We were hungry and in the mood for Spanish food ( from Spain) I barely eat anything, had to eat dinner when I arrived home, and the little I eat, left a bad taste in my mouth, physically and emotionally. To top it all, the bill was expensive and we were charged for the metal straws, which we then took home.
Anniversary meal but not a happy experience. We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner but left feeling disappointed. The staff made us feel like a bit of a burden when we asked about several unfamiliar menu items. This limited our ability to try everything we had planned, which really dampened the experience. Overall, it was underwhelming, and were unsure if well return. Food we did have seemed a little cold.
My husband and I attended the Flamenco show on 7/29/23 (the show was wonderful). The food was good however the carafe of sangria was way too sweet - almost like syrup. Also, after the show we noticed a friend sitting at a nearby table and walked over to say hello and when we turned around our belongings had been moved to a nearby booth in order to fold up and put away our table. After spending over $200 we felt like we were being rushed out and this was a disappointing end to an otherwise (overall) enjoyable experience.
Whenever I find a restaurant that has a separate vegetarian menu, I take a closer look. This is a restaurant and tapas bar in Long Beach California. They have many Spanish items on the menu – paella, papas bravas, and olive breads! we had a wonderful lunch there on Mother’s Day . They also have live music and flamenco dancing on Saturdays! .
Being a veteran restaurant on Pine, Sevilla may not be the most exciting eatery around town. However, the advantage of being a small chain restaurant is that theres a standard of quality. Sevilla consistently provide meals that are satisfying and especially for large size parties, there are lots of tapas to sample.
Service was great. Zoe provided excellent recommended and was patient and friendly. This place is mostly tapas and paella so thats what we ordered. The octopus ceviche stood out of the bunch and the traditional paella was a close second. The octopus was perfectly prepared as to not be chewy at all. Also note that they serve toasted baguettes instead of tortilla chips. The paella was hearty with everything from clams to chorizo. The beacon wrapped dates were the group favorite but some didnt like bleu cheese. The red sangria is worth noting but the white tasted like apple juice. The churros were excellent due to their freshness and the whipped creme was different. What kills this experience is the pricing. We went during happy hour 5 to 7pm and still spent over $60 per person. The live music was way too loud because they dont use the house speakers.
Wonderful experience! The food, the ambiance, and the live music make you feel like youre getting a taste of Spain. The paella a la valenciana was on point and so was the braised short rib coca. A little less impressed with the gambas al ajillo and the halibut and shrimp ceviche but they were pretty good too.
Dark, moody tapas spot in Long Beach. Came here for my friend’s birthday brunch which had 15 people, so I recognize this wouldn’t be most people’s experience. If you have a big group, you can either order from the brunch menu and get tapas (but can’t get tapas alone) or you can get tapas from the dinner menu. We opted to get two paellas and a bunch of tapas for my table of 8, and it was more than enough food.Definitely get the brussel sprouts (you can get the sauce on the side). The salchichas are fun because they get lit on fire. The tortilla espanola was a bit of a letdown and is small, so I would pass. The Spanish potatoes were another popular one at the table. The calamari was good, if a bit on the salty side, and we got an order of the olive bread but I don’t think it was worth it. The paella Valenciana and the seafood paella were each good for 4-5 people to split. We got an order of the Madrid churros con chocolate which were good for 6+ people. I love churros con chocolate, so I’m happy that they were available. Credit cards accepted. Street or lot parking. We were in the upstairs area which is where I think most private events would be held.
Excelente! (excellent)📍🎒 📸The service, food, people and atmosphere is superb. Everyone has a great time here, a place for families, friends or lovers, they have you covered! Drinks are delicious but required a bit more liquor (mix drinks). Food is literally a taste of Spain delicious. Waiters are attentive and helpful with ordering (thank you). Patio dining is very comfortable but the magic happens inside where live music brings the place alive. Bring a friend, love one or yourself the place will have you smiling!
Not going to rate the restaurant since I havent actually eaten here before. But Ive gone to their nightclub 3 weeks in a row to see if the experience was consistent across each outing. Overall, it was (which is a plus). I went on a Saturday twice and a Friday once. Either night is cool. They had a live band playing for a bit downstairs and a DJ that handled most of the music. It was a mix of Latin and hip hop, but mostly Latin music. This past weekend, they finally opened their upstairs space, which is made to be much more of a club. Pretty big space, but it fills up every time. Once this space opened, there was a lot more hip hop being played. But they also mixed in some techno/EDM. Mix of girls here, but definitely some cute ones among the crowd. I couldnt do too much of a temp check.Brought sand to the beach each time (if you get my drift). Kind of a surprise, considering each time was a first date. But people want to get out and reclaim some of the fun they had a year and some months ago. Lol. Next time, I do plan to go on my own and see how it goes.As far as the bat is concerned, Im not much of a drinker, so I didnt bother getting anything. But two of my dates wanted something which allowed me to see how ridiculously packed the bar gets. A little slow to get a drink. But the bartenders are all scrambling to do their best and theyre all cordial. So, Im not complaining too hard. Overall, I enjoyed myself every time. Id definitely recommend checking it out. Especially if you have a little patience, a good attitude, and dont want to throw double or triple the money at trying to get into the surrounding restaurant/clubs like Alegria or Agave.Actually, quick update on this spot: I just went this past weekend on a Saturday, and it looks like their price has gone up from a modest $10 cover to about $25 (or $35 to skip the line). Seems like, they realized what the surrounding clubs were charging and upped their cover to price match. Most of the girls werent very friendly either and it was harder to find anyone to dance with this time around (not the clubs fault, of course). Ill probably try again on a Friday and see if the mood and price are any different. :(
First off, I want to say this place is wonderful. The lighting and the atmosphere is beautiful. Wonderful wall decorations and awesome round bar with a bull flying in decoration, lots wall seating with romantic candles with a mirror ceiling, the staff is super friendly and keeps tables and areas super clean. The music is great la raza with modern mixed in. Awesome DJ playing all your favorites (I dont know much about this music but Im partner does and kept asking me if I knew the song), great live singer and band. Good dance floor were everyone is getting down and 💃 so good.So youre asking, why are you giving this place one star? The manager is horrible and treats his customers and staff horribly. My waitress was so awesome, helped me pick out food (which is 😋, had the ahi tuna) and gave me advice on what to pick for drinks ($15 flights of hand crafted sangria) and communicated to me about how the manager was fixing the credit card system because it was down. My partner and I waited maybe 15-20 minutes, I went to talk to him. He yelled at me, the other staff explained to me theres no point in trying to talk to him.The place is great, the staff are great, the music is great, but the manager is shady. I feel bad for the employees because they are great. This one star isnt for shutting down the business but maybe improving the livelihood of the people that make that place great. If the manager was not so crazy and rude, I would of given it five stars.
Well, our experience began before we even sat down. We made a reservation to celebrate our Fathers 75th birthday here, on a Thursday, with several family friends from over an hour away. The temperatures were in the high 50s on the evening in question, and they forced us to sit outside on their patio (we were the ONLY group to be seated outside), because several hundred people from a convention decided that they wanted come to the restaurant on the same night! The failure on the part of the restaurant began with refusing to seat us inside, not providing enough heat lamps (because they claimed they were out of gas), and being generally dismissive of the needs of our group...THEIR CUSTOMERS!We made no excessive or unreasonable requests, and wouldve gladly stayed had the been able to accommodate us with at least SOME sort of comfort level that wouldnt have left us freezing outside. If youre in this immediate area, there are PLENTY of other establishments that will happily take care of you, and have incredible food and beverages! If recommend Kings Fish (located right across the street), or Bo!Beau (located right next door).Spend your money where the people receiving it are happy to have you, and happy to take care of you.
This is a nice place. We went as a family for lunch, and I think it was the hottest day of the year, a tad stuffy inside. The atmosphere is really fun, I can see it being a blast on nights with live music. The food is good, but I have to say nothing blew me away. The tapas sampler were all tasty, and the paella was all good food. Just not amazing, which is fine as I imagine being surrounded by Iberian music late at night, after a few drinks. The bloody mary with mezcal however was fantastic! My recommendation is to be here at night with the added atmosphere of a crowd and live music.Cheers!
What an amazing place. It has been many years since I have been here. The food is good, a few minor issues but nothing major. The servers are friendly and always around when needed. Highly recommend Sevilla.
We brought my mom for her 77th birthday & she loved the food. Its really delicious. Spain cuisine with all these different spices & flavors.
Cafe Sevilla is all about the music and dancing. The food is a poor replica of real Spanish cuisine, and the cocktails are premixed trash. I recommend skipping dinner, come to dance, and order beer or wine.
Unbelievably good food. The braised short ribs are too tender to describe. You havent had mashed potatoes until you try theirs.Just went again and our server disappeared. No one checked on us so I used my cell phone to call the restaurant and complain. 5 mins later she re-appeared and rudely stated she was on break. We asked for the bill and went elsewhere for dessert.
I do not recommend this restaurant. They are very thieving. They charge taxes that they should not charge after you pay for your meal and the reservation charges you a separate and very expensive fee. And the food is useless, it is not worth what they charge.
Don’t wear socks, you will have to find them once you taste the food 😮 the blend of flavors was incredible. We walked by and wanted to try it, totally blown away, and our socks 😉 highly recommend the stuffed dates, octopus ceviche, tortilla espanola, plus the desserts! Ended up splurging for 2, the bastille cheesecake and chocolate churros. Next time we are in town we will be back!
Our first visit to Cafe Sevilla was amazing! The flight of sangrias was the perfect way to start the meal. The GAMBAS AL AJILLO was delicious, I recommend ordering the olive bread to accompany this dish. The bread is perfect, a light crispy crust and soft and tasty inside, it was seriously some of the best bread I have ever had and dipping it in the shrimp gambas sauce made it even better! The CROQUETA DE QUESO were so freaking tasty as was the GARLIC MANCHEGO MASHED POTATOES! For desert they offered a desert trio for $19, we went with FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE, ANDALUSIAN APPLE TART and Churros. There was a short wait for tables so we sat at the bar and were rewarded with excellent service! So for a quick recap the food was excellent as was the service and the overall ambiance was welcoming and comfortable. We will definitely be visiting Cafe Sevilla very soon!
Great experience here and an outstanding menu. Place turns into a night club late night. Sat at the bar and went tapas wild.Albondigas meatballs were flavorful and moist.Ceviche trio were OK. The differences in preparation were ranged from avocado mango to a green apple.Patatas Bravas spicey potatos but good.Datiles relleno bacon, blue cheese and dates.Highlight: the tender lamb asado which was cooked to a juicy medium deliciously minted and seasoned.
The flamenco dance stage is not that great. I wish the restaurant would provide a microphone on the floor to hear the great footwork that the dancers do. The seafood didnt smell that great of fresh seafood. Hopefully the restaurant can improve on that fresh seafood smells when cooking the paella. Other than that, the performing artists were superb, the servers were on point and very considerate and friendly, the paella display was impressive. Oh, the PowerPoint background screen was great, just wished they added more variety of photos. Hope this review helps. I take pride in the city of Long Beach so hopefully the restaurant will make improvements in these areas.
Asked 3 different servers for hot water for my tea. Never got it. The rice was very pasty and they put someone elses order on my check.
The food at Cafe Sevilla reminds me of cafeteria food served from precooked banquet trays sitting under a heat lamp. This is only worth visiting as a drinking establishment. Here is my dining experience if you want to find out more.I was seated promptly, outdoors, with a table that rocks like a rocking chair. I planned on ordering wine, so I folded my napkin into a crutch and fixed the table. We ordered beef empanadas, calamari fritos, freshly baked french bread, and a carne platter. Ill describe each dish separately.Beef Empanadas had a good crust, but the filling, as I described it on my first bite, was trash. The excessively cheesy and lack of beef in the filling reminds me of a gas station beef and cheese taquito instead of the plump beefy empanada you would expect from a proper Spanish or Argentinian restaurant.Calamari Fritos came out well, but the marinara sauce was smeared on the cutting board that it was served on, so you couldnt use it as a sauce. With terribly slow service, I didnt care to try to get a side of marinara. The freshly baked french bread was arguably the best dish of the night. Although overcooked on the edges, I salvaged the middle section of the loaf, and it paired well with the sauces the bread came with. Yes, my $9 side was the star of my meal. Finally, the main course, the carne platter, which includes short ribs, lamp chops, sausages, meat balls, mashed potatoes, and this weird veggie stew. All meats came well done, which is ironic because they ask you what temperature you want. Also, none of the meats were hot; everything was room temperature. The short ribs were dry, but I was able to take a few bites down with a side of chimichurri I ordered. The lamp chops were surprisingly not too tough despite being well done, but it was oddly sweet and way too thin of a cut.The sausages were underwhelming, and quite frankly, the sour flavor threw me off.The texture on the meatballs was way too soft, almost gooey.I didnt bother to try the mashed potatoes, but for the veggie side, I did take a bite, and it was way too sour.In summation, I conclude this place is a drinking establishment. Food is trash, and service is what you would expect from being in a busy bar.
Always such a pleasure to dine here. We love celebrating all our special occasions here and food is always top tier.
Great food. There seems to be an issue with the ratio of workers to tables. Good location
Well it was good to try, all in all it was good. Good flavors but I needed the habanero hot sauce to make it spicy. This is traditional here so I didnt expect them to have any bold flavors. I think for me I need more spices or more acid. I was missing something but again this is my pallet and they served great dishes here. Try it out and be your own judge.
Went to flamenco show. It was way over priced. Show wasnt that great, older dancers nothing that was advertised at all. and when the bill came it was all crazy because they added the $119 that was already paid no one understood thier bill at the end. We got one appetizers water and cranberry juice paid $88 fot it. It was awful. Food was the worst! Lobster was horrible never in my life have I had such bad food. Service was OK Im used to waiters filling your glass of water this one I had to ask never took dirty dishes off table. Food gross. Show wasnt nothing special and Service Luke warm and the amount it was priced at was crazy. Never again.
The second floor is going to give out at any given second. I felt unsafe, when I brought up the issue with the manager he was dismissive and disregarded my concerns about the safety issue.
Went there on Christmas eve....they werent packed and the food was decent. If you have never eaten there and its you first time...then pop your cherry with the 5 course dinner for 2.That will give you a wide range of things to try. Your choices are all pretty good. However I highly recommend the following:Braised short rib flatbreadBrochetas (any of them doesnt matter)CevicheThis place is a major go!
We are a group of 8 dining in on a Friday night, food was decent the atmosphere was nice with live music and such. However our server, Demi, didn’t check on us except taking our order for the duration of the meal and we had to grab multiple other servers in order to get the empty plates cleared away since we ordered 18 dishes including a family size paella which takes up a lot of space. It’s understandable that Friday nights are busy, but seeing a auto-tip of 20% without any service makes me quite unhappy especially the bill was over $500. And then there was another 5% surcharge we only found out the next day probably for employees’ benefit. I would suggest you take care of your customers too :)
Greatnplace love the live entertainment and dancing, the food is delicious 😋 👌
Very bad experience with the food, as a local from Sevilla in Spain coming to this place the food only brought me disappointment and shame. Please reconsider the name of the restaurant and the fact that you call this spanish food but the staff is really nice. Me dieron el postre medio comido, muy asco!! Además tengo parasitos intestinales despues de comer aqui
I’m very disappointed wanted to have a nice dinner with family that came into town and we had to pay a coverage charge just because there was a live band that we couldn’t even see. It was a long wait for someone to come and take our order. We asked to move to a different table so we can see the band and they said it was reserved but no party showed. They charged for straws as well! I will not come here again.
This is one of our favorite places in Long Beach. Happens to be on Pine Street. Even sitting at the bar to eat and drink is great! There’s sangria in a pitcher for two people is an incredible deal and taste great. Thanks everyone!
This is a review for the nightlife. Music varies in greatness by the night. Some nights are live music, some are a club atmosphere. They play everything from Reggaeton to top 40. The security team always does a great job at making you feel safe. The bartenders are awesome as well. Drinks are expensive but are right around the nightlife minimum level.
Absolutely beautiful restaurant. Great service and friendly staff. The absolute WORST Paella we’ve ever had. Grey ugly rice with no hint of saffron and burnt black but still soft on the bottom not crispy soccarat like it’s supposed to be. Seriously they should retrain or replace their paella cook. The absolute WORST music and so freakin LOUD. Who tf thought euro edm would be the appropriate music for a Sunday afternoon lunch?
The food was NOT good at all. I paid for the show and food included with the ticket. The paella had 1 shrimp. The salad was so little and I paid $434 for 4 person and we didnt even order alcoholic drinks. They added so many fees to my bill it was ridiculos.I do no recommend this place.
Very crowded on St Patricks Day, but overall so much fun. DJ was just amazing and kept us on the dance floor. Bottle service was good, I liked the sweet drink jugs to mix our drinks and water as well. Our waitress was amazing and kept us well stocked with clean glass and jugs.
I thought I was going out to eat taps and chat with friends. But Cafe Sevilla seemed more interested in playing music for free. Loud, and so we sat outside. The speakers outside were just as loud. So I didnt get a chance to sample their menu because we left on acct that we wanted to have a normal dinner experience. If you want to get drunk and listen to live music, this is a great place. But they shouldnt advertise themselves as a dinner establishment, because diners are secondary to the live music. That should be saved for after dining hours. Anyway, there are lots of dining choices all over the strip.
Nice Tapas disco-bar in a strategic position. It is located next to various clubs and restaurant in a zone very animated especially on Saturday night.Food is very good as well as the service and prices proportioned to the overall quality.During dinner time some group plays Latin/Gitan music. On Saturday night fter 11.00 PM the restaurant turns into a disco club with Latin repertoire.
The food was amazing. Compliments to the chef. The lobster paella was the best I have ever had and I am a chef. The slow cooked braised ribs, were like butter. A must have! The music, the ambiance was fun and energetic. The drinks were made to perfection BUT the service lacked attention and staff overall needs to have a reality check. The front of the house is the heart of your business and they need to be retrained. The bar staff was rude, made faces when we ordered as if we were bothering them. And the wait staff forgot to put in half of our order or ever bother to refill our water let alone ask if we needed anything else. Not a good experience.
Stopped in for happy hour one Sunday, great friendly bartenders and happy hostess and managers made this place really stand out. Beautiful decor, elegant and rustic gave that mediteranian Tuscan feel. Had a house Sangrea which was tasty bit deffinately not what I was used to! The bartender agreed to make us some drinks from our home town of Victoria, BC which are called Shafts. He was more than willing and so happy to make them for us. Getting the bill was a little tricky as it was now approaching 6pm and was getting a little busy. We waited almost 15 mins for the bill in the end. This place is amazing weekends after 8pm, turns into a salsa club. I would deffinately like to check this out late night soon!
Obviously a Spanish themed restaurant would be a bad basis for a vegan. However a hard working server made up for that and sorted food. Good local beer.Live music was a surprise (I know, I know) and wasnt what we needed. It clearly was what the regulars needed so much joy to them.
Food is good.Loved the music, people dancing and the atmosphere is great
What a great spot, we came to Sevilla for the first time to celebrated our anniversary. our server Melissa did a phenomenal job making our night extra special. The food was delicious, great service, overall a fantastic experience. We will definitely be coming back.
Catina was really cool, the club was kinda cool but not worth a 10 dollar cover
Happy Hour Monday - Friday (ends at 7pm) paella was scrumptious. If your like salty sweet the dates with blue cheese and bacon was delicious and the ceviche, torta, gambas. Place gets pretty packed quick but great service and food (they have a full bar too and live music)
Great atmosphere and the food is great! We had the veggie paella, a mushroom dish and sangria. They have a separate vegan/vegetarian menu clearly marked. They had a three piece salsa band! They were amazing!! My wife and friends enjoyed ourselves. I would recommend the sangria and the mushroom appetizer.
We had a 5 star experience here at Cafe Sevilla! Excellent food and the show was spectacular! Chose this as the spot to celebrate the hubbys (belated) birthday and it did not disappoint! :)Our server was great and very attentive throughout the show. The food was absolutely succulent! I ordered the vegetarian paella and hubby ordered the meat paella. Sangria was yummy! We were lucky and found parking in the open lot next door. I believe it was $8 to park there for the day.Show was extremely entertaining and filled with lots of music, dancing and performances!Overall, a time very well spent at Cafe Sevilla. Highly recommend. Worth it!
Went on a Fri night. Mostly Latin, some hip-hop hop. It was decent we had bottle service we werent in the crowd but it did get pretty crowded by 11pm.
They advertise rib tacos but gave me shredded beef.
Food was good, service was very poor. It took almost 30 min to be greeted by our server, I ordered the short ribs plate the waitress told me when I order it was a heavy meal. That plate never came, when we where ready to close our bill we made sure that was not going to be on the bill and the waitress had no idea of what we were taking about. The waitress never came to get our money, someone else had to close our bill. Never going back.
I liked everything about this place. Everyone from the hostess to the server to the bartender were so polite and service oriented. Not stuffy, very accommodating & yet friendly. I had five different Tapas plates and every one of them was delicious. I especially recommend the dates stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped with bacon and drizzled with vinegar. It is an explosion of flavor in your mouth. The place is relaxing and attractive. Outside dining as well as ample inside Space. I would drive to Long Beach just eat here again.
Everything great just security was acting saying I couldnt come back inn when I told him I needed to get something from my car real quick said I couldnt come back inn if I went outside? Makes no sence . Other then that its a great place to visit and have good drinks and food and dance 💃 🕺
The food was good, the service was good, the drinks were good, and the music was great. Shortly after we arrived and sat down some live music started. The entire experience last night was great and I would recommend this place to anyone else looking for a good experience. Recommended!
Best experience in a long time. Melissa was my server, and she made the mundane act of waiting so engaging with her personality and recommended games. Id you have Melissa as a server, know that you will have a good time. 👍
We went there on Friday night without a reservation and the hostess was kind to let us in. Our server offered suggestions for kid geared dishes which were perfect. The good tasted great, seasoned to perfection. We left before the live show started. The setting, decorations and music were just right. Highly recommended!!
Great food, good service, but you cant have a good time for any longer than 2 hours!Having just finished our food and waiting for another drink which was on its way, the manager came over and told us we would have to leave as he was imposing a 2 hour time limit on the table!!!! There was only the two of us, so we paid our $250 bill and promptly left, no tip! A great shame because we were having a good time. I was going to leave our waitress a 30% tip, but I was so enraged by the managers stance we just paid the bill. If the service staff are going to let the management interfere with their livelihood then so be it, a very poor way to treat high paying customers, I could perhaps understand it had we of been there for two hours nursing just the one drink! We will not return, lots of other places to try
Highly recommend getting the Paloma cocktail and one of their paella dishes! Both were exceptional. The live music and ambiance inside was on point as well. Overall a great dining experience!
Killer short rib and chicken skewers!! Cool decor and hip spot. Had a great acoustic live music last Thursday night. Spanish English mix. Super cool
Our meal was about $100 per person and they didnt even offer us cloth napkins. They accidentally gave us our dessert to go. Food was okay, service was okay, but wont be going back.
Hot, smelly, high prices, a lot of attitude.
Excellent Spanish style tapas and sangria, though the prices reflect a $$$ restaurant instead of Googles current $$ rating.Every dish we had was freshly prepared and utterly superb -- both in ingredients used and style of preparation. Only criticism is that there is virtually no delay or order to the courses, they are simply brought out as soon as they are prepared.
The food was delicious the paella amazing! I live in colorado and I tried food in Denver, Aspen and nearby areas and this place has no comparison with anything for half price, Cuban coffee exquisite, they had live music that night and the guy was incredible talented one of the best part of this vacation definitely!
1st time trying this restaurant and 1st time trying Spaniard food. I liked everything, to say the least. We had empanadas, seviche, paella, and chicken pinchos. Delicious! Music was great.
Was there for a party and celebration. My friends wife wanted a special drink so I went to the bar. The bar tenders ignored me for about 10 minutes and served everyone who came after me. Finally, when a random patron gave me a confused a look I asked if they would mind ordering me a drink because apparently I am invisible. To which the bar tender finally decided to acknowledge me. When he brought the drinks had the nerve to complain about the tip. Sorry I don’t tip high for people that ignore me and for that matter not sure if I am going to be back.
The music was great. The atmosphere was awesome. The food was good.--However, they are badly understaffed. The food took almost an hour to be ready. The sides came right before they brought the check. There were also a couple of hidden charges, which were small but still not mentioned by the waitress.I personally did not have a glass and fork although I asked many times!
Went to the dinner and show through Groupon. The server was nice, but he seemed to be managing way too many tables and couldnt even take our drink order for a good 10-15 minutes after we had sat down. The prix fixe menu was pretty straight forward and my wife and I each picked a different option to sample the food. All of the options were good but not great. Im a large Paella fan and it was far from the best that Ive had. The show performers were very talented, but the entire show was in Spanish. Granted, its a Spanish show. But as neither my wife nor I speak Spanish, we felt we werent getting the full experience as it was intended. The Spanish speaking guests may have been able to more thoroughly enjoy the interaction and apparent stories told by the performers. Enjoyed the new experience but likely would not go again.
I should took a picture of all the great bites we had, but Im terrible. Ha. This was our first time and our girls took us there for a night of good food and company. We will definitely go back! Such a great menu of tapas, youll be sure to discover a favorite or two.
Luv the food & atmosphere here. Best calamari & paella this side of Spain! Specialty drinks could have been better this time. Usually have excellent cocktails, (well trained bartenders) but the Caipirinha & Mojita werent worth it, both bland.
Wonderful tapas and the supreme sangria was awesome! Rustic decor and ambiance. They do some live music/spoken word/DJ entertainment so be aware. Outdoor seating also available. We will be back to try the paella!
Terrible food, should not even be considered Spanish. Just because they put rice with things in a Spanish paella pan doesn’t make it a paella.Definitely overpriced menu for food that does not taste good, especially if you get the “family-style menu” on a weekend, where they mandatorily make you pay 20% gratuities and 5% additional payment to servers on a $60+tax menu that everyone at the table has to get if you choose to do that.Lol no one at the restaurant knows anything about Spain, not even the CEO is Spanish. It’s sad that there are no good Spanish restaurants in California and the only ones that exists are this bad misrepresenting Spain.
So Ive been going to new places for lunch or dinner and this place has a very nice vibe. Can definitely be a date place. My first time eating Spanish food very good food. I think my waitress was slow at first because it took a few minutes from the time they sat us down to the time the waitress showed up. Over all good experience. They have musicians playing which makes it a bit more alive. This place is also a night club Thursday nights and its actually a very well known club in long beach.
Go here. A little pricey (but normal on Pine Ave), but incredibly delicious food that you don’t see every day. My first paella and it was pretty incredible. Additional bread served with a garlic aioli and tomato sauce. Classic Sangria was also great. Great and friendly service!
Really good food. Paella was gr8. But tapas ..order the bacon wrapped dates. It was to die for. The 5 course meal you cant go wrong. And entertainment does not disappoint.
Super cool place! Happy hour all day on Wednesdays and live music every night to top it off. Their food is really good! Definitely recommend this place and well be back!
The food is absolutely fantastic and they have a great variety of dishes to choose from. Our drinks were unique and delicious, there’s something for everyone. Although we were served a little late, both our server Megan and the manager were very gracious and made it right.
I took my friend out for his birthday, and we had a wonderful time at Sevilla! The service was great, and we had a wide choice of tapas for dinner, as well as delicious mocha crème brûlée for dessert. Sous-chef Eddie came out personally to recommend the lamb chops, queso fundido, and bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with bleu cheese - yum! A memorable evening with live music and great conversation.
Food is good, menu has decent variety, drinks are good, if overpriced. Its the painfully slow, non-responsive service that makes it 3 instead of 4 or 5 stars. The servers themselves are nice and professional, but 30 minutes to place a drink order another 20 to get the drinks and place the dinner order. Then about 30 more to get our entrees. We had to hunt for our server to request the check. Then theres the 4% surcharge that makes you think its for the servers tip, but its not. Either price it into the menu so we know how much an item costs or leave it out. Providing decent wages and benefits should be the standard.
Always a tasty experience every time I go. Good, fresh food, very reasonably priced. Never got a bad wine there. Pleasant staff, pleasant atmosphere I dont have a negative comment to add! You just have to go and check it out.
Ridiculous place, Service and price!. I was there last Saturday the 9th., of April, and we had such a bad experience, service was very slow, eventhough the place was almost empty, about 3 p m.; they dont give you appetizers, snacks or bread, etc., we requested some bread after we had order some so-called tapas and Paella, which was very saggy, took them a long time and got very defensive when I complained, the prices are ridiculous for what you get and on top of that, they add to the bill a surcharge, plus expect higher tips 18 to 22%, which they took the Liberty to included in the bill!!!. Abusive and Shameless!!!. Go at your own Risk!. R. M.
So incredibly delicious!!! The homemade bread with kalamata olives was divine and I am not a big fan of olives. There was a mistake to our order which the server corrected immediately and made sure to give a coupon for our next visit. Great venue space and excellent service.
We had a very knowledgeable, sweet, charismatic and respectful waitress that gave us the perfect Spanish experience, without actually traveling to Spain! Our waitress lived there for a few years, so her food and drinks recommendations were amazing! Definitely going back and telling all my friends! 💗
AVOID AT ALL COST. IT GOT FOOD POISONING or THEY SYMPLY DID NOT RESPECT MY DIETARY RESTRICTIONS. So I went to this seriously overhyped restaurant for a work promotion gathering. Ambience was ok but as we all know. Parking in Long Beach is horrendous. Basically you WILL have to pay at least $15 for a spot.We tried a few dishes. Now. I let my server know that I did not want any cheese. I got the short ribs and they were $25 for a small plate and the server said the cheese was mixed in with the mashed potatoes. I asked for a substitute and all they could do was rice or veggies. I was already disappointed but got the rice. I also got a side of empanadas. Flavor wise the short ribs were good. Empanada were soggy and gooey. They were disgusting. After 30 minutes of eating I immediately used their rest room 3 times from being sick. Spent over $50 for my dish to get sick. No thank you. I did file a complaint to the LA County health department
Pretty good Spanish tapas outside of Spain. The food was great....sangria used the wrong kind of wine for a traditional Spanish drink....WAY too bitter. Id definitely try this place out!
Live music, 🔥 DJ, dancing, the Sangria was the best weve had in California and the Empanadas and Croquettes were on point. Really dont have anything negative to say about this place, we loved it.
If youre into Spanish cuisine, this is must visit, pricey but service is exceptional & friendly! 👍if I had a complaint, it would be if I could suggest! That you have a geezer menus some of us of senior years dont eat much! or discounted lunch menu! Nonetheless I will make a return visit! Absolutely luv Spanish cuisine!
The ambience & Spanish decor was very good. Only Cuban music was played. We ordered Seafood Paella, the presentation was excellent. The rice was over cooked/burned on the bottom of the pan. The overall taste was under whelming for being fresh caught ingredients. Typically Baggett Bread is served with Paella. We wrestled our loaf from another nesrby server.
The food was amazing. They sat us on the second floor for the first time ever, once we finished our meal and were told that we wouldnt get kicked out of the second floor until after 1:30 p.m. but a waiter kept circling our table. Once they finally closed we went outside and it was raining, my Lyft driver said she was outside but didnt show, I tried to go back in to the covered area but they wouldnt let me after playing $140 on dinner. They let other people go in and out repeatedly. The service was unbelievably horrid. $140 on dinner and they cant be courteous.
Positives: Great service. Food is definitely served different. Taste is great! Their Sangria is amazing! 🍷🍸🍹 Ive never been to Spain, so I cant compare its authenticity, but its supposedly Spanish oriented. Ambience was awesome. Live music was definitely a plus!Negatives: Parking sucks here! Street-metered parking is hard to find. You can pay about $5 for 2 hours for the parking structure beside it; however, the lot is tiny and spaces are small. Another major negative for me was the price! Its definitely on the expensive side. I paid about $60 for myself! I ordered a chicken brocheta (basically a chicken kabob/skewer), grilled Brussels sprouts, and a side of mash potatoes, w/ a flight of their sangria samplers. 60 dollars for one person!!!! Youre definitely paying more for the look and presentation of the location rather than their food! Portions are about a half a cup for sides and ONE chicken skewer for the main dish. 🤔Great experience. Good music and vibes... but I would probably not return. 💁✌
Kind of romantic place, great music 🎶 good flavor and quality food 👌 😋, by the way reasonable prices for food and beverages. We did have a great time.
Service was great and Im sure some of the dishes are too. Second time Ive had Paella and it will be the last. The first time was at a restaurant in National Harbor between Maryland and virginia. It just lacks flavor. Maybe its just the way the dish is. At any rate, the place is nice with live music and service was good. Would go back but would not get the paella again.
Lively place with an excellent selection of amazingly tasty tapas located close to the convention center area for those of you like myself traveling on business. It can be hard to get bar service when things get busy but the wait staff was exceedingly nice. The food is highly recommended, however. I wood definitely go again.
Celebrated a friends birthday on a Friday night, went to the restaurant NOT the nightclub. The waitress was taking too long with cocktails, did not bring out a slice of cake to sing happy birthday added about 3 items to the bill that we did NOT DRINK or EAT, the food has a microwave hot pocket taste to it. = HARD PASS
First time I went we were in the cafe downstairs. Food great and dancing was great, band and D.J was great. Older atmosphere 40s and up . Just right for us. Second time I went there was a flood in the cafe. And they let us in the night club upstairs free. The atmosphere was to young for us. We left. I was wondering if there is dancing in the cafe area later on, or was that a one time thing.
The Live music was excellent and the wait staff was attentive. The food was better than advertised. We had the Seafood Paella, regular Paella and various Tapas. Everything came tasting spectacular. One of the best restaurants in Long Beach. Its a Spanish themed Restaurant and my family visitng from Spain said it felt like being back home. There different themes nights and attractions. It is a great place for a date or family get together.
Ive been here a few times for business dinners. Good selection of what feels like authentic Spanish tapas and the food is always excellent. Beer and drink choices are OK but expensive and the wine itself is pretty low quality for the price (mostly riojas which are ehhh). Service is always great.Be careful about certain evenings as they do host salsa/flamenco nights in the upstairs area and it gets crazy loud, and they have an open mic night which can be VERY hit or miss.Parking sucks, but thats downtown long Beach. Valet is available but its more expensive than self park.
I made an order @ around 3pm for a pick up @ 8:30pm. It took me 1hr before I could park and when I got there they didnt even prepare my order. I had to wait 30mins and drive for 2hrs before my family could eat. A server named Christian just aggravated me further by explaining to me that it wasnt their fault and that I can always cancel my order. So rude.
Had a large group meeting more than 15 ppl so we took long time to order ...drinks comes fast ..plenty of food ...i didnt like the seafood paella..no crispy bits on the bottom. I think the appetisers are a much better bet here. Come for the ambiance . I didnt stay to dance ..had to work early the next day ..do..its fine...last time I was here was on a date ...its the ambiance and small tapas you should focus on .
This is the norm for us. We recently moved to Long Beach and this place offer some great music and dancing. The service is the most outstanding part. They actually remember your names, your drinks and, your food preferences. I havent seen anything like in a long time
Loved the live Spanish music and its tributes to the gypsy kings. However whoever booked my seats got the number of seats wrong. The host was incapable of getting back to us in the appropriate time to resolve it where we were watching being served drinks and no one was attending to us until the show started. Bad service but awesome entertainment. At the end of the show the manager was going to charge us 2 extra seats and then realized it was a mistake. So that was our night.
It was amazing! Great atmosphere. Perfect spot for a date or just to hang out with friends. The food & drinks were delicious. Not only was the food delicious but the staff were friendly and outgoing as well. I highly recommend the lamb! We were also able to meet the cook & he explained to us how it is all based from Spain. The mushroom empanadas were awesome as well. Theres this spicy drink the bar tender also recommended that had a piece of chorizo in it, really good! Will definitely return & recommend to go! A must. ..
Took my mom to see the Flamenco show and sit down dinner. Great service! You have to try the Matador Margaritas! My mom and I drank 2 of those. The show was awesome.
I rarely take time to leave reviews but I just cant let this one go.The staff was rude. My wife asked if the cheese was pasteurized due to her being pregnant. The waitress asked one of the employees and he replied I dont care little did he know we were right behind her. The cook said all cheese sold in america is pasteurized. Come on...Moving on to the food. We ordered the shrimp, took one bite and left the whole plate.Rib plate was also bad and we were unable to eat itDates with cheese was horribleHonestly the only thing we ate was the cold cut plate and some flatbread pizza which was ok.Waitress noticed we didnt eat anything and asked if we wanted plates to go. When we refused she asked if the food was ok. We simply paid our bill left a tip and left. Horrible horrible. Tried 6 dishes and all were substandard ast best.
Was there for a party. Food was really good. Vegetable paella was pretty good but was missing socarrat. So it was more just rice with vegetables in paella pan. Empanadas were yummy, chicken skewers were nice and moist. Shrimp was nicely done and not overcooked but a little to heavy with garlic and I love garlic.
I think is under a new management because the taste of the food has change they kept the same menu but is not anymore an Spanish taste. Is more like American-“Spanish” taste. The portions of the food are really small than before and really expensive and this time I had a really bad experience with the service. And by the way that “jamón serrano” is not the same that they served before this is more like a proscioutto.
Flamenco show was really good. I love the fact that they have a full flamenco group- singer included. Belly dancer was amazing! Pricing is misleading though. Lots of taxes and surcharges will be added to the bill- but I understand, running a restaurant with a full show is expensive. So just be aware of that. Expect to pay more then what is advertised.
Ive always had great experiences at Sevilla. Theyve been closed for a while and just opened up following proper protocols. The happy hour from 3-6:30pm is a great time to go try their amazing empanadas. If you want great service look no further than Sevilla.
Pretty dang expensive. Too me the food was so far from my normal that it was hard to get into. Its pricey and very dark inside. We ordered drinks and tapas. I really liked the braised ribs I think..it looked like cheesy pizza with avocado and braised ribs. Good but too expensive for me.
My wife and i have had dinner here three times in the last month and the FOOD along with the SERVICE was excellent++AAA. Dim lighting with a romantic feeling all around the establishment. The live music playing on stage wanted me to get up and shake my hips but was quit impossible due to the fact that of the limited dance space. But that wont stop us from returning, which will be will soon.
The WORSE experience Ive ever had in a restaurant.Had a 7:30 reservation and sat in my table for 35 minutes without even been acknowledged got the hostess so we could speak to the Manager and took him another 15 minutes to show his name was Gus at which time of course we got up and left without eating.By the way went down the street to Gaucho Grill and had a great dinner and wonderful service. If I could rate this awful restaurant with a minus Star believe me I would,The Worse service I have ever seen
Wonderful place for family. Must visit once. Ambience is superb
Cafe Sevilla, located in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter, specializes in tapas, paellas, and other Spanish-style cuisine. The menu is fairly extensive and the restaurant is eclectically decorated. And, just like in Spain, the service is leisurely. I was there over two hours for a simple dinner and dessert. But, the food is good. They also have live music, although the band playing when I was there, frankly, was not very good. Be sure to ask for your check when youre ready for it.
Great food. Great service. Good music. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good time. Not inexpensive by any means but definitely worth it.
Food is good, service is awful. Our waitress brought two out of our three meals and then abandoned us. When I asked where my entree was, she said they were waiting for the side dish. It took 30 minutes to get side of rice and vegetables?! And when she finally brought it the entree was cold!
Great food and service. Amazing sangria and tapas. So many tasty choices. Miranda provided amazing service, and Chef West cooked up delectable plates. I wish I lived out here, so I could eat there more often.
Not very good paella. A bland adventure and dining. Some flavors with spice might be nice everything tastes kind of chlorine-ish probably the worst paella ever. Wont return slow service very disappointed decor is very nice though. Might be because of covid who knows but I dont get it
Ambiance is excellent! Indoor/outdoor dining available. The Pulpo Gallego was cooked to perfection. The Gambas Al ajillo were ok. The star should of been the paella valenciana, however, it lacked the delicious crispy bottom and lost taste by being too soupy. This is a no no in my eyes for a restaurant touting itself to be authentic. I sat at the bar and the staff was amazing all the way. This made an unfortunate situation better. Recommendation? Stick to tradition... Its what we look for when seeking out a Spanish restaurant.
Good Spanish food. The waffle sandwich is delicious. The ambiance is a bit chaotic, music is too loud, but that is forgivable for a bar.
They have great food. My wife and I had our honeymoon in Barcelona, so going here allowed us to remember that honeymoon.
The music was the keystone of the night. The guitarristas kept the mood and suspended reality. The food is always really good. I always get paella. Youre not going to go home and smack your Mama from the food, but it is damn good.
What a horrible customer service they have. Seriously the lady who help you to make reservations IS SO RUDE! She thinks were asking for a favor, were paying just to make a reservation and she just yelled at me. WTH!! Unbelievable, I just can not believe Sevilla has that kind of service over the phone. I will never make a reservation, I would rather to show up anywhere else than have that rude lady thinking that we are asking for a free service.
Dinner for 2 was about $150 including tip.Strange people came and sat down on our patio table without asking while eating. Our drinks took more than 45 min to get to the table. Few staff, nobody was attentive to check on our table. Rude crowd. Never coming back and I wouldnt recommend it.
We have been to Spain many times and our experience in this restaurant, at its various locations, is as close to the experience of being in Spain as weve ever had. We were present for entertainment in San Diego, so that was a little more of the Spanish experience. The staff at both locations, Long Beach and San Diego, were accommodating, helpful and is pleasant as they could have been.
I organized a party of 17 friends at Long Beach Cafe Sevilla on March 30th for my husband’s birthday. It was the most horrible, embarrassing experience at a restaurant I have ever experienced. The service was horrendous...had to wait 45 minutes for water. Food was awful...Spanish rice with 2 or 3 pieces of fish. Flamenco was really mediocre and short. On top of all of that, all 17 of us waited 1 hour...60 minutes, for our final bills. Also, one friend fell on an unmarked step and had to see a doctor.Terrible experience for everyone!!!
It just wasn’t our speed. The tapas were pretty good, but the band was one of the worst I’d ever heard live, and super loud to boot. I couldn’t recommend it if only because the ambient was so unpleasant.
Very nice! Pricier than Id like but tasting the food justified the price. If you come during the music, then its a extra treat. It has an open mic plus featured artists on Tuesday night.
This place is hands down the best Spanish Restaurant in the Los Angeles Metro area! Lots of traditional tapas and romantic atmosphere. Perfect place to take friends from out of town that come to visit! Great music too!
Last night May 28th around 10 pm. Myself and a group of friends wanted to try the cafe. There was a host in the front who we payed and got our tickets from she wasn’t very welcoming at all. We had asked for a table so we can get served food and she responded “I can’t give you a table because there’s none” we looked around and saw plenty that’s was available but just needs to be cleaned. The security that was working by her side saw the look on our faces and helped us! We told him our concerns he immediately took care of everything and told that host we are going to sit at the table and she did nothing but agreed. So we just don’t understand why she would make us stand around looking lost and tell us she can’t seat us when there was one open? Even after telling us she can’t seat us there was no sorry or even trying to help us get one or try to make us comfortable enough to stay we were so close to leaving but thanks to the security guard who helped us out last night. Host needs to learn better servicing and how to greet customers!
Went there for my birthday and I gotta say that it was such a great night. Live music, then a DJ and dancing. The food and Drinks were amazing. Couldnt ask for anything more.
Came here for the flamenco dinner show. Its communal seating so if you dont have a large party you end up sitting across from people you dont know. The paella was ok. The highlight is really the entertainment. Great singing and dancing and interaction with the crowd. I shouldve watched them even without the food and ambiance. This is just critique of the flamenco show not the restaurant as a whole.
Honestly the place was okay, decent food, decent price. But what got me was, there was 35% added price on top of the everything. Theres a 10% tax (which I understand) ,20% gratuity which bad service or not you get charged.
The Husband and I were very hungry and decided on Cafe Seville after The Broadway pizza had no where to sit. We get drinks and an appetizer of empanadas. The empanadas were very good...the drinks were ok. We then ordered the steak and shrimp kabob for him and the Mediterranean sea bass for me. Then the problem started...a large party came in and we seemed to have lost our waitress. With 6 or 7 servers hanging out at the chefs station we thought our food would come soon but the large party received A LOT of food instead. We kept getting promises from our waitress and other waiters delivering food to other tables that ours was coming out in a few minutes. Another 15 minutes passed...finally The Husbands steak and shrimp skewer came with no fanfare. This was supposed to be some presentation😕. Husband begins to eat and still no veggies as the side or my Chilean sea bass...they mustve had to travel to Chile. Another promise from the waitress for my entree and finally 10 minutes after the first one the bass came..good but the experience was ruined. Everything was just warm not hot..and the service was was less than on point. The Universe was not with Sevilla tonight.
Just tried to make a reservation and was told it was $30, per person! Absolutely ridiculous! -- considering I would have already been committing to overpaying for (what would have been) a nice dinner and drinks in the first place.
Staff is friendly , drinks are good , but food portions are very small and more than that the food is very salty , seems like they use salt to add flavor without the food being good. The menu is also old , they need to bring a chef in and re vamp the menu.
