The team from Joseph Christopher did hair and makeup for 10 bridesmaids. 1 MOB and the bride. Each and every one of us was thrilled. Every stylist was talented and listened carefully to what people wanted. Plus they were fun and great to be around at such an important time. I was so grateful for the team. Really really you could never do better. Hire them!

Hadnt visited Joseph Christopher in years. Booked a mud wrap and a facial over the phone. Nice, relaxing treatments. My only complaint is the room next door didnt use their spa voice, so had to ask my esthetician to please ask them to speak lower. Facial by Felicia was amazing. A little mix up at check out, but the spa honored the mix up...which also gave them additional points in my book. I will definitely be visiting again.

My hair has NEVER looked so healthy! Joseph is meticulous with his haircuts. The Davena hair product line is AMAZING and has restored my hair condition to 20+ years ago before all the coloring to cover my gray. Davina Naturetech treatments and products are worth every penny! My favorite salon in long island. First the salon is gorgeous and immaculate. The service is always great-best part its a block away from the long beach ocean and boardwalk. I always get greeted promptly for my visit with a cup of tea or water from Doris. I then recieve a great hair/blowout service from Emily who really takes her time and recommends great treatment options for my hair depending on a particular visit. My hair always looks and feels amazing when I leave the salon. I also apprreciate Doris willingness to accompdate me whenever I happen to be in the long beach area and call for a same day hair appontment. I recently became a member and Im so happy finally took the plunge to join. Im looking forward to trying the spa for my message appontment in 2 weeks. This is salon is a real gem in long Beach and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxury spa experience.6/15/24 Update: I recently hosted a fabulous spa party for all the ladies in my family at this salon and all I can say is wow!! Everything from the services provided to the food offered.for the spa lunch was top notch, professional, and superb. Beautiful, clean, attentive. Had color today. Denise experienced, knowledgeable and supportive of my situation. Did a wonderful job on my color. Didn’t have a cut today, but Joseph a wonderful stylist. Get free quick shoulder and neck massage. Also offered a free beverage. Love the lush, spacious surroundings. Going here 22 years.

The terrible place in Long Beach. NEVER EVER go haircut to him. He even didn’t say any apologies. He was very rude. I came here and I said I need pixie hair. I am very picky. If you think you cannot do haircuts, please let me know. He just did cut scissors over the comb, which is like men’s regular haircut and I said please do pixie. I showed him the picture he said don’t worry. I will do this one about 38 years and I’m professional but again he did he’s way, finally I was crying and I said this is not my haircut. He said it is what it is. You have to pay full of the amount otherwise I would call the police. He was really rude racism and again rude. Please careful go to salon at at least To him.

I had an amazing experience at Joseph Christopher! Everyone was so kind and welcoming. I loved the complimentary welcome massage. :) I was visiting from Toronto and had an important networking event to attend. I had Sharon as my hair stylist and makeup artist - she is soooo talented in both fields!!! She completely understood the look I was going for and nailed it. Too bad Sharon cant be in Toronto at the same time as Long Island! I highly recommend Sharon and this salon. :)

I had a color and haircut done @ Joseph Christopher salon about a month ago. The whole experience was great! I’m very happy with the results, my hair looks so much healthier. Robyn picked up the right color and best of all it did not a damage my hair! Joseph did an excellent job with the haircut and my hair looked so much better after the experience, thank you!

I feel like I have to share the following. I was a recurring customer at the salon/spa. A few weeks ago, I found out a member of my family is really sick the day before an appointment. I left a message explaining the details and gave a list of times I could be available because I could have another family member stay with my sick family member. They did not charge me a penalty, but never called back. I called again from a medical facility, got the machine and left a message. No call back. I called a third time, the person at the front desk was extremely insensitive to the situation and told me the owner would call me back. No call. The services and technicians are good, but I think there is some moral obligation just from a human being standpoint when a customer says “I just found out a parent has lung cancer, but I still need to be presentable for when I am able to work, can you please help me work out these appointments”. From a service perspective, it is ok. From just an ethical perspective, please don’t say this is okay. If I get any return on this from the salon/spa, I will research a way to post a recording of my appointment history, all the messages and the one interaction on the phone. I recorded all of them. I just hope this does not happen to another person. Thank you

Joseph and his team are just amazing! I had the best experience from customer service to my haircut. I came in with my hair all dry brittle and out of shape. Joseph knew exactly what I needed and I trusted him throughout the process. He gave me an amazing haircut that I’ve been wanting for so long and just couldn’t find the right stylist. Very nice atmosphere, clean, and friendly staff. One of the few massage places where you get to undress and lock up your clothes and belongings and get into your robe and slippers in a separate room for a true spa experience.

I received a sublime facial from Felicia... It was AMAZING!!! Her hands are magical and my skin never looked or felt so good. I purchased the skin care line and IT WORKS!!! The salon is having a black Friday sale on products and gift cards.... GO GET THEM!!!!! :-)

It was my first time visiting Joseph Christopher Salon and I will be going back now making this my permanent salon! Summer color by Claudia and a cut/style by Joseph really brings me to my happy place. The scalp treatment and blowdry are icing on the cake. I really need to get here more often, I deserve it! I have been coming here for a few years and every time the experience is amazing. Claudia does my hair color and every time she hits the nail on the head. I’ve showed her photos of what I want and she does it exactly how I like. Sharon does my cut and style and she just gets me. With her as well I show her a photo and she delivers. The salon is absolutely gorgeous. The detail is impeccable. The staff caters to you even if you’re just there for a simple blow out. Even if I move from Long Beach I will be traveling here for as long as they are open.

Joseph Christopher is an incredible salon and spa. I have been a member of the indulgence club since my first stop in over four years ago. I recently moved out of the area but still make the trip down to Long Beach bc they are that good! This salon has been surprising me for years. Claudia did the most amazing hair color called a melt. Everyone thinks I am a natural strawberry blonde and the beauty is, I dont have those harsh lines at the roots as it grows out. Josepha, Thank you for this youthful, trendy bob! So little work to keep it styled. Everything about the experience is top notch, including the hands on owners, Joseph and Doris, and the amazing staff.

Emily has been cutting my hair now for almost a year and I’ve truly never been happier. She’s a dream come true!When will she start taking cut+color appointments? I’ve been waiting and waiting to book her for both highlights + haircut - can’t though - it’s frustrating. I only want one person servicing my hair, not two or more. Why is she still only available for cut? It makes no sense, she’s fabulous, what’s the issue? I do not understand. How much longer will the wait be? this Aug? Please no later than Sept, patience running thin.Kindly provide update ASAP. I wish to book her first available Thursday evening appointment @6:45pm, cut and highlights, thank you.

Patricia was great! She took me on a much needed relaxing journey and beautiful haircut. She offered some opinions and I gave her some pictures and we came up with straight edge lob that I love. Easy to manage and upkeep. At the end of my appointment I received a hand ,neck, and back massage with scented essential oils and makeup application. Definitely worth it to treat yourself for a mini makeover spa day! Next time Ill go shorter on the hair!

Had a wonderful first-time experience at the salon -- got a much-needed haircut with Joseph, but also treated myself to a scalp treatment (which came with a nice head massage) and left with a few hair products. The salon is clean and pristine, the staff is friendly, and I cant wait to try the other services they provide!

My hair was very damaged and over processed from a horrible chemical relaxer treatment. Nicole colored my hair and I have literally found a GEM! I am very picky because I have a natural grey streak that I color around. I dont trust anyone with my hair. From the moment you arrive, the salon experience begins…The staff is warm and professional, managment is present and engaged and the salon is both beautiful and impeccably clean. Joseph Christopher Salon could not be more accommodating if they tried. They were so kind and when I was running late to pick up the gift certificate I ordered, they were willing to wait for me to get there. The woman even offered for me to pick up the gift certificate from her concierge at her building nearby. Excellent experience!

My facial with Jessica was wonderful. She was very passionate about skin care. I left feeling taken of and my skin feel very hydrated. Looking forward to my next one, appointment made before I left.

First time but was extremely disappointed with the salon. I went for an 80 minute massage service. The ladies locker room was tiny, the only toilet in the room had the door broken off and I was told it was “obviously out of service”. Had to leave the locker room and massage area and go outside to the back of the hair styling salon to utilize the toilet. Therapist was lovely but asked me what I thought of the oil smell. When I asked what my other options were, she said “none.” It was that or nothing (so why ask?). No lotions, brushes, or any other typical products in the locker room (unless small cup of Q-tips count), no sauna, steam room or other amenities but their charging same price as an upscale salon. Massage was good but definitely not worth the price. I do massages on a regular basis as well as everywhere I travel - will not be back.

Beautiful salon that provides excellent service. I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Kristina Jessup. She truly cares about the quality of your hair and will work with you to help you achieve your hair goals. My hair has never look better or healthier and it’s all because of her! I highly recommend getting your hair done by Kristina. SHE’S THE BEST!

It was a lovely experience with Maria doing my pedicure, for which I had a gift card. She did her usual amazing, meticulous job. The surprise came when I went to check out and in the six months since I received the gift card the already pricey service had gone up $20. And then I had to add the 20% tip. So the gift card for a pedi ended up costing me $36.This is a very nice spa, but a pedi plus tip, is an $96. Well out of my price range for sure.

The staff members are excellent. . The young lady who shampooed my hair made my scalp feel great. The hairstylist recommended wonderful products for my hair. The cut and style are exceptional. I have gotten several compliments on my hair. The hairstylist is Zoila and she is excellent. Thank you

Friendly and professional staff, beautiful facility; Christopher cut and styled my hair and I am happy with the cut. Zoila finished the job with a nice blowout. However: I am not too happy with the low-lights that I went for as it made my white hair too dark. I didn’t want the low-lights to dominate the overall white color of my hair. Maybe it was a communication problem between me and my very friendly colorist. I should have brought in a picture of what I had in mind.

For more than 20 years I have always gotten great haircuts from Joseph. Staff is friendly and professional at the same time. The occasional pedicure and manicure I’ve treated myself to have been excellent and worth the expense. The salon is unfailingly clean (even before Covid) and I always feel comfortable being there.

I love my hair color and highlights which were expertly created by Claudia. She is highly experienced, very pleasant and did a meticulous job! No strand left undone! My haircut and styling by Zoila was excellent as well. She was precise, exacting and very friendly. I also had some special hair and scalp treatments and my hair is so silky and shiny. Janet is excellent. I have fine hair and have not had the best experiences with highlights. She did almost a whole head and her application and technique were great! They are even without being stripey and not overdone .. I also love the color and products. They are the only thing that does not ruin my fragile hair👍.

Worst experience at a “high end” salon that I have ever experienced. I have never left a salon feeling such disregard, regarding a complete embarrassment of a hair color experience. Besides the shoddy work of Claudia (hair colorist)…her inability to communicate the process, nor what I was to expect, was unbelievable.I went from highlighted blonde, to a deep, fiery red. It looked beautiful when I left the salon. I bought the red depositing products that were recommended. But within days, after washing once with those products, my hair lightened dramatically, with purple/pink/orange undertones.I called the salon to make an appt to see what happened and how to rectify.Claudia was dismissive and rude, and told me that that is just what happens. Her facial expressions and body language spoke volumes as to how she felt about me discussing her work. I told her that I look like a clown with what the color has changed to. She stated that I’m lucky, doesn’t look so bad, and that I could pull it off.I then spoke to the owner, who said that he doesn’t do color and doesn’t want to get involved. I asked what I should do…I’m lost in regards to where to go from here. He unbelievably stated, “maybe you should go somewhere else”.I left the salon close to tears, never feeling so unheard and dismissed after a bad color job. And this place has great reviews, and are certainly not cheap by any means.I would recommend any new customers thinking about using this salon, think twice. Their customer service is the worst that I have EVER experienced.

Our group of 4 friends celebrated our friends milestone birthday here with a mini spa party. Two of us had facials, and two had massages, with all of us emerging feeling pampered and refreshed to a delicious fruit tray awaiting us in the comfort area. Doris was great in helping to schedule everything and with prompt replies to our emailed questions. Fantastic, top-notch service from scheduling to day of treatments. Will definitely return!

Save your money, protect your peace of mind, and shop elsewhere.

I’ve been coming here for over 15 years for a reason. I get my hair colored by Mariel and have worked with Rachel for many years and I’m always amazed they can make my hair more beautiful than I could have imagined. Joseph has been cutting my hair for over a decade and I’ve never been disappointed. The best part is how well it grows out. Months later I still receive compliments about my hair as if I had just gotten my haircut.

The ambiance at Josph Christophers Salon in Long Beach NY is upscale elegance ! They R unpretentious , warm & friendly from the start. I developed a comfort level from the start. I was formally introduce to both my colorist & hair cutter when they both greeted me. They analyzed my hair & gave their input on whT s/b done. They were both very skilled & I walked out feeling like a million dollars ! I strongly recommend this salon, all they offer, & Christina for color & Zoilas cutting skills ( and signature cut). I am now a loyal patron and wouldnt go anywhere else.

Services at Joseph Christopher were relaxing and professional. The front desk staff made me feel welcome, despite my appearance - I had spent the day cleaning/clearing out 56 years of family belongings at my Dads house, which was exhausting physically and emotionally. It was a very nice experience.

I hadnt been to J.C. salon in years. Always found the whole setting pretentious and the owner not customer friendly at all. In addition, whenever I found someone who cut my hair to my liking, they were gone a few months later. I decided to try again today and despite all the pitches the staff is required to impart on the clients, I left with exactly the haircut I wanted. I was assigned Mariel and showed her the photo I wanted to duplicate. After the wonderful shampoo/head massage by Claudia, Mariel went to work creating the cut I wanted to a T!!! She was not overly chatty, listened to my concerns, cut my hair wet, and then perfected it when dry. I am super, super happy not only with the cut but with Mariels professionalism and calm manner. I will definitely return to Mariel at JC and highly recommend her.

I have been to going to this salon for hair color for over a year- blonde highlights. The experience is overall very nice and the salon is very modern. I have gone to Mariel both times. She is professional, yet personal. She does great blonde highlights and spends quality time on you as the client! I will continue to go back- worth the $$!

I love the care of detail and information that was provided by Patricia & Nicole. Hairstylist Patricia gave body to my hair by cutting and styling it to fit my personality. She is very creative and took her time to ensure that every strand of my hair was perfect. Nicole also provided suggestions on coloring, and listened to to my needs. Hair color came out beautiful and shinny!

Ive been going to Joseph Christopher Salon for years. I take part in their Indulgence Club that saves me money on services and products. I love the Aveda product and makeup line. Recently, I went for a massage with Erica. She was simply fantastic! She has an intuitive sense along with her knowledge for massage. I have also seen Sy and JaTem (Im sure that Im misspelling both names) but they are both wonderful and caring at their work. I highly recommend a massage on the spa side. The ambiance is serene and elegant. On the salon side I get my hair colored and styled. I use different people depending on my schedule and availability etc. To name a few, Nicole, Mariel, Sharon, Carla, and they are all great! Additionally, the entire staff from scheduling appointments to hair-washing and complementary hand and neck massages are all professional and accommodating. The salon is immaculate and gorgeous. The owners, Joseph and Doris, are warm, friendly, and make sure that your experience is everything that you expect.

I came here for the bridal makeup and hair. Overall I really wasn’t happy. I asked for eye lashes (which was an additional 20-30 dollars). On my way to my wedding ceremony (12 mins away) they were already falling off. I really had to pull myself together because I was very disappointed. I was constantly making sure they weren’t completely coming off during pictures and afterwards at my wedding luncheon. I wasn’t excited about the makeup all together, I asked for a glowy/ soft look (I even showed them pictures). My hair felt so stiff and uncomfortable the entire time, I’m not sure what she put in my hair. I immediately went home to take a shower and wash it off. I had to leave a deep conditioner for an hour to get it somewhat soft again. My biggest regret is not getting hair and makeup trails because I would have never done it here. The place was nice and everyone there was friendly but honestly I would never go there again.

My first time here was great! They offered me a drink, complimentary massage and the salon was so pretty! I really felt like a princess! I got a blow out with beach waves by Josefei and it came out perfect! I just moved to the area and I hope to be back here soon!

The massage itself was fine and as expected. I was disappointed to see there were no beauty items (Q-tips, cotton balls, cream, etc.) in the ladys room. There was no blow dryer either and when I asked to borrow one I was refused. In addition, I was unable to use the balance of my gift certificate ($10) on any products and I was more than willing to add money to it. Also disappointing. Guess you lost a sale.

In full disclosure and fairness to the Joseph Christopher Salon, I was contacted by the spa manager after my poor experience and review dated 6/27/2015 below: She generously apologized and offered both a complimentary manicure and pedicure if I would give the salon another chance. I was very appreciative of this classy gesture and can now report that my complimentary services today were outstanding!6/27/2015: Made an appointment one week in advance for manicure and pedicure. Received messages from the salon confirming my appointment. I showed up at the scheduled time and was left waiting for over one half hour before I finally left. The staff was cold and indifferent and lied to me repeatedly about how much longer I would have to wait for my appointment when I approached them. No apology was offered. Wasted my time and clearly did not care about my business, so I took my business elsewhere where actual service and courtesy is provided to clients.

Great massage, Diana is a professional who cares. But, I had to wait over 15 minutes due to another client who was late to their appointment. Not a big issue, but no one likes to be kept waiting. Whats the policy when someone is late to their appointment?

I recently had a spa Bachelorette party for my lifelong friend here and they were BEYOND accommodating. I originally booked 3/21/20- LOL. Ended up rescheduling twice over the course of 9 months due to the state of the world- some bridesmaids even dropped out and we had to cancel them. I didnt lose any deposit money over the changes and they were even able to add on extra services last minute. Gave our entire party our own private locker room, fruit, and drinks. It was a relaxing day for everyone and we were so happy with their service.

I had a very relaxing massage. I appreciate the way that Anita paid attention to my individual problems. I felt so much better afterwards. Then Patricia gave me a very flattering blowout. I left feeling happy and rejuvenated.

Cut and color was beautiful, however I asked how long it was going to take because I had a meeting for work now and I was told it would take about an hour, and 4 hours later I was given an $800 bill. Some of the services I was asked about, but the bulk of the charges were for mistakes they had made in the first place. The bill was astronomical for a simple cut and color.

Joseph cut my hair a few days ago and, having washed and air-dried it twice, Im thrilled with my summer cut. Its important to me that Im heard when I say I need a low-maintenance cut, especially for the hot weather, and at Joseph Christopher I always am.

I am Aveda. plus reward member for over 20 yrs and wanted a simple hair cut 3 off and curling iron for styling simple loose curls, ]was not made aware in advance I would have 2 hairstylers do both: 1) a hair cut $80 2) the curling iron $50 + $45. repair treatment (optional), one hairdresser could have done both but salon looks to regulate /fix prices. cost me $200 for a simple hair cut. I know its long Beach but I consider it over priced. Zolia and Emily did a nice job and very nice and friendly. Will not be coming back.

Got a facial, it was average and for the astronomical price, more than monthly car insurance, definitely not worth it. I can get an equal to better facial for less than half their price.

I came here for a haircut, I felt robbed. Save money and go to supercuts or something. They justify their prices because of the fact they give you a glass of green tea when you walk in. Never coming here again, rather just get a buzz cut and use the extra cash to invest in the stock market.
