Its a nice old building very close to El Mercadito, the sound was on point and the place very clean, bottom part is a pizza place ( we didnt try it ) there was no seating but I didnt go to sit down in a concert anyways. Their free parking lot is located about two blocks away. Since its an old building is not handicap friendly.
Pretty chill venue but kinda small with an okay bar area. You will have a pretty good view of the band or artist playing from all angles as it is pretty small. There is a patio area but theres no smoking. Expect the normal marked up prices for everything. We saw ONNI and it was really fun.6/10 overall, not a bad venue.
Fun for a small venue. Intimate. When there’s a big named artist like Jason Joshua; I don’t think they were prepared on how packed it would be. We had a great time. Don’t underestimate the artist when booking.
This is a historic ballroom in Boyle Heights thats been resurrected. Its been beautifully updated with out loosing its classic architecture. Just saw Cherry Wine and The Rhythm Shakers and both were amazing.🎸🤘 The sound in there is great.🎶 Great drinks.🍸 Props to Mario for doing an amazing job of this place.👍 Cant wait for The Brooklyn Ave. Pizza Co. I will definitely be a regular there.🍻
We went to see Tiki Lewis and her band, Piel Music. The sound, was excellent!!! Piels performance was phenomenal...especially Tiki! We flew in from Pennsylvania just to see Piel...and it was all worth it. We had the best time! The atmosphere was very cool. I cannot say enough! It will definitely be good memories. Also the area is historic & the architecture is impressive. The staff is super friendly! Jose answered all my questions in a timely manner...very kind!
Lot of the venue is off to the side of the stage and sound was a bit overblown, but cool spot with free parking nearby, definitely will be back!
Great venueGood sound system and intimateDrinks are watered downSo buyer bewareBut if you want tequila flavored water go for it
Ive been here twice . One for a comedy show and one for a gig. Both times have been pleasant. I love the atmosphere and the bartenders know how to pour their drinks! 😏 Definitely recommend this hidden gem. I would have never expect this place to be here in the middle of Boyle Heights! Come check it out! Everyone is nice and welcoming.
The place is nice, we went to the Inspector show, we waited almost 3 hours for them to come out, if the people are going to wait that long, at least the place should have a nice DJ set, the DJ that was playing was boring, it was hot inside, long line to get drinks, I mean, it is a nice place, I just didnt like to wait that long for the performer
Nice venue. Looking forward to seeing the upcoming shows.
Good music venue, the drinks could be better but the prices are good. 🥁
They refused to give me tap water even though I was purchasing drinks.Music was good. Venue was nice. But the water thing is ridiculous. Most bars and venues give tap water, as they shouldReply to owner, there was NO miscommunication, the bartenders flat out refused even after typing it out on my phone. They said the manager didnt allow it. , repeatedly. It is a greedy tactic to sell $3 water bottles. If its a matter of wasting bartenders time, place cistern at the end of the bar, and patrons can grab water at their discretion.
Nice place to hear music. I loved the homage the venue paid to the East LA music scene. I was a part of the ELA punk scene as a regular at The Vex Club, and I was lucky to be friends with some of the bands, artists, and others who made it happen. The wallpaper in the entrance was covered with reproductions of flyers for many of the shows I attended at The Vex. The inside was nice a roomy, but could use more seating and the balcony outside had seats but it was full of smokers. The sound seemed good and the stage/lighting decent. The band I saw on this evening were great (Messer Chups) the band right before them...not so much. I did not appreciate a foul-mouthed drunken 300 pound shirtless cowboy having his own party onstage without inviting anyone else. Musically they were good but I lost interest quickly. And people holding their phones up to video everything were annoying, as were some pushy audience members who barged in front of us. Also, there is NO parking. You are on your own on the streets.Lastly, the reason I did not rate the venue 5 stars is because they still use plastic cups for drinks. This has to stop. I was just at Alexs Bar in Long Beach and they use glass. Please remember, NO MUSIC ON A DEAD PLANET. Stop using plastic, period.I will go back and will particularly be paying attention to the servingware.
Incredible venue. Very professional staff. Great pizzeria, eatery and bar downstairs. Def will come back for more entertainment and shows in the future.
Nice, intimate venue - great view of the stage from any spot you choose. Thanks for hosting Scarlet Demore ❤️
Great venue. Their ticket scanner person is not very attentive to the job and double scanned my ticket and told me that my ticket was invalid. I asked for a manager and they immediately said i was being aggressive when all i wanted to know was what time the first scan was, obviously it was mere seconds before the second scan. Luckily the manager was quick and understanding of my situation and didnt ruin the experience for me.
Beautiful small venue for intimate shows! Check out some local artists
Love this space! Reminds me of The Echo in its early era. The venue is intimate, nicely re-done, with great staff/drinks. Ventilation was right & the sound system was solid. Recommend grabbing dinner downstairs (their pizza was delicious). Have been to hundreds of shows & this is a perfect venue for rising new artists to play at or for an unforgettable exclusive show with your favorite big band. We look forward to our next show The Paramount!
The voxes were amazing and katzu oso was killer the times I saw them both
This place was very intimate, fits a lot of people . Great concert experience overall but the bar can definitely use some organization and more clear lines. There was a lot of cutting which made it impossible to get a drink and there is absolutely no organization at the bar.
Claims to be ADA accessible but when I enquired about an elevator I was told I could come through the back and would still need to take stairs. When asked for ADA seating was sat in the back of venue where multiple employees attempted to take my seats until assured it was okay by security. NOT ADA FRIENDLY
Small venue but it makes for a intimate show. Your so close and it feels personal with the band. The brick building gives you a realy old school vibe to the place and the walk up the stairs isnt bad at all. The staff was friendly and organized, they offer free parking if your coming to the show witch is nice because not haveing to park on the street is always a win.
First time here yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised by this venue. It is clean, well staffed, reasonable security, average booze prices and decent sound. Will definitely be back for the right show. Also, plenty of street parking in the area and there is a lot a couple of blocks away.
Elegant, cozy music venue. The plain exterior does not give away the warm, elegant space inside with friendly staff and savory quick bites that it is. My friends and I had a great time. We saw the magnificent Astrid Hadad perform there.
It was awesome small venue but great location, parking is available everywhere.
Full disclosure- Im one of the Audio Techs. that assists with the sound for the performances at the Paramount. But I absolutely love everything about this place- great people, incredible music, beautiful space. So happy to be a part of the community that calls the Paramount home...!
KCRW GLOBAL BEAT LIVE! - Sgt Papers + Marion Raw + Parque de Cometas. Awesome new bands and new experience. The Paramount was great! Except the Bartender over charged me but said i would get refunded. Other than that AWESOME new bands and experience. KCRW KEEP IT UP!
No smoking in outdoor patio.Saw security rough up a drunk customer, even shoving him down the stairs. He was sober enough to catch himself if not he could have gotten seriously hurt.Ticket prices were supposed to be $12 online, $15 at the door. We tried getting the tickets online but they charged a $5.50 service fee per ticket. We decided to pay at the door and the owner raised the price from $15 to $17 a ticket. Thats greedy if you ask me, so the owner can pocket an extra few hundred in ticket sales! A couple hundred people showed up and bought tickets and they all complained about that discrepancy. The only answer we got was its what the owner said so you can either pay it or leave. I have plenty of money, $2 is not a big deal, its the principle of someone trying to cheat me in some way. There no honor in shady business practices.
To start, the staff here is incredibly unorganized. Info that should’ve been relayed days in advance was not, and when it was dealt with, was handled in a very rude and unprofessional manner. Even the sound staff complained to ME that they were unorganized. To top it all off, at the end of the night, Mario Christerna (owner) and his staff were nothing but rude and disrespectful to the artists performing earlier tonight. Not only did they attempt to “move things along” by putting all the gear outside, saying things like “time to go, get out” in a drunken stupor. Afterward, as we were attempting to pull out of the single lane alleyway, filled with multiple vehicles, he shouts “wow, seems like it’s these guys first time. Maybe you should sell more tickets!” I never in almost 20 years of playing music have I dealt with a more unprofessional group of people. I absolutely do not recommend to anyone to play this this venue. You would think the people who bring the entertainment to your establishment (which could not run without said entertainment) would have a little more decency to treat people respectfully.
Beautiful and historic East LA venue. Excellent pizza down stairs. Free parking. Can’t beat it.
Cool venue. good sound and lights. buuuut... $7 pbr short can?! no. shame on yall. last drawback, no stools or seating of any kind. this old punk needs a chair
Great venue spot. Standing room only with great views to the stage. Only negative for me was that it was hot. Suggest they should higher th AC please.
The old Vex. It retained the high stepping stairs to upstairs club. It was deja vu feeling like damn it was that long ago because it all came rushing back!
They oversell an event just to make money. This place is trash. Bought tickets, was told it was ok to go in and out. Went outside for a minute then was told no ins and outs. As reault didnt even get to watch the band I paid to see just minutes before. Stay away from this place. Next time dont over sell the venue!!
Small venue above Brooklyn Pizza in Boyle Heights. Booking by Anthony Valadez from KCRW. Friendly bartenders. Cool crowd. Great little spot.
This place is not The Paramount Theater nor is it affiliated in any way. Hoped to see a show, but building and parking are sketchy as they come. Checked it out and decided against it, especially after reading reviews.
Awesome venue with a great energy. It does get quite warm inside but they have a great bar to help out with that.
Entry was quick despite security check, drinks costly but good, free valet was awesome, they sell food which is a plus, music and dancing was very good, and they offer table reservations also a plus.
Went to see Sales in concert. Excellent venue. Great soundsystem. Great atmosphere. Best club prices in L.A. hands down
Super fun and great place to chill. Drinks are delicious and super friendly people around.
Great venue. Great prices on the wine. Staff is really awesome and helpful

Very intimate venue with a full stocked bar. Always a great time!
Great time seeing the quakes!!!
It was really good. Small stage, but beer selection is very small.
Cool venue, iffy bartenders, good clean bathrooms.
Good sound quality.
Dont come here if youre expecting to get served at the bar. Takes 30 minutes minimum just to get a water, and at least an hour if you want alcohol
Good vibes!!Great service.. good spot
Cool venue un East LA. Pretty spacious, great atmosphere for the band I went to see.
Its a cozy little place but has great service and ambience. Went to a show here and I quite enjoyed the place and show.
Its a fantastic venue with a storied history that goes back to to the days of the Eastside Sound.

Phenomenal venue! Great people and good vibes
Great music and staff, the only bad thing is no sitting areas.
The setting is nice, but the dance room felt hot and stuffy.
Great venue 👌 clean and spacious
Have to admit, Argentinian people know how to have a good time
