I have never been kicked out of a bar before. We were not super drunk. We spent all night dancing and supporting their band. We walked outside and my husband lit a cigarette. Yes, there is a no smoking sign outside, but we explained it was our first time here and we didnt see it. Bartended didnt even ask us to put it out. He just rudely said can you read??? And then kicked us out because he was on a power trip. The first experience was a turn off, and we will never be back. This is why PBR gets all of the business. Train your staff better to not just yell at people over a mistake. Funny it was one of the only black people in the whole bar that got kicked out...
After our evening at Louisville Palace Theater we wanted more entertainment before heading to our hotel. While we were shocked that they are charging $10/person cover charge we decided to enter (at 845p) as we always enjoyed this venue. Older Couple infront of us decided not to pay and left.Since place was semi dead, seating was available, which was great, Courtney our server was top notch and the drinks didnt disappoint. My wife & I had great night here. Thank you.Shout out to the entertainment staff, did a great job singing ACDC, our late friend Harold favorite band.
The piano bar is the place to be - music requests are quickly accommodated and the vibes are great! Staff were so welcoming and fun! The bar manager stopped by to introduce himself and made us feel right at home. If you get Ceanna as a waitress you’ll have the best night!
It was our 36th wedding anniversary. We arrived 10 mins before they were to open. We finally knocked on the door 10 mins after they said they were to open & asked when theyd be open. They said they were updating liquor bottles & didnt know. We asked if we could come in & sit down. We were told no. We waited another 30 mins outside & finally left. Staff could care less.
They dont serve food, but you can bring your own. The musical entertainment was really fun and its what made the experience great. The staff was pleasant.
We went in for a festival down on 4th Street. Advertising said they had a special for this event for 5 different items on the menu for drinks... mainly being the $3 white claws. We went in and they gave us a price of $5 instead. We were not happy with the discrepancy in price as it was falsely advertised. Talked to manager and she said it was a mistake and they tried to change it. How is that my fault? That is the reason we came in. Manager did not handle it well and was combative instead of apologizing. Music is great but the whole idea, combativeness, and lack of hospitality will definitely not bring us back. If the facility was run correctly it would be a better establishment. I dont leave many reviews but when I do its either really great or really bad...this is bad...
Attended for a happy hour. It was deafeningly loud the whole time, so I could not hold a conversation with anyone. And I, an infamous lightweight in my crew, had three margaritas on an empty stomach and only got a bit buzzed, so their drinks are very weak.
My wife and I with 2 friends had an amazing time on January 13,2023 for my wifes birthday. We made a table reservation with Libby, so helpful. The musicians were fantastic, got to talk with a few of them what great people. They young ladies that played everything, sang, and played the fiddle is so talented, please let her try out for the voice or American idol. What a great show.
Drinks overpriced, entertainment exceptional, service was good at first, but when I tried to check out no one was in sight, I left without signing the check. Ive never done that before but I couldnt wait any longer than 30 minutes!
Went out for a night alone in Louisville and Howl at the Moon was AMAZING! Fantastic service from bartenders, stupendous music, and the people were so friendly! Can’t wait to visit again!
Absolutely loved this place! The musicians/singers are incredibly talented! Highly recommend and will for sure be going back next time Im in town.
We had an amazing time at Howl at the Moon Louisville! Our whole group enjoyed the vibe, band, and drinks! Thank you so much for hosting us and our bachelorette parties!
This is a piano bar. I put the first song request in at 8:00 and paid $5 for it. It has been over an hour and a half without them playing it. There have been numerous requests after mine that did not give them any money and theirs have been played. I wanted Angel Eyes by Jeff Heally for my wife and they must not be able to play it. I would not recommend paying them to play anything. They dont care. This is not how any other piano bar has been that I have been in.
Such an amazing night. We were in town for a landscape show and they were handing out tickets for free cover while the 4th street concert was going on. Once the concert ended we went in. They had an amazing girl playing the piano most of the night. Drinks are reasonably priced. Great for the 20’s to 40’s crowd.Small space, but very personable. Wish we had one of these in Canada. Such a wonderful environment & concept.
This was an absolute blast. Tons of fun. I was blown away with how versatile and improvisational the 3 performers were, all of them constantly switching instruments and roles. Drinks were great, and the music kept me there long enough to take down 4 of the buckets. They were all good. Drinks made very well. Talent like this was amazing to enjoy, and is definitely somewhere I have to go again when I return to this city.
Super fun evening! The musicians are super talented and the entire experience was a blast.
Would not recommend unless you like getting excessively patted down by two different bouncers after the second one watched the first already do it. Terrible experience would never go back
This place is my favorite bar, ever! The show that was put on was the best I have seen. There was like 5 people and they could play a ton of instruments and sing. Like I cant explain how awesome this place was, you need to go see it! Im not sure how often the show is performed, like every night or just on the weekend. But totally worth it.There is a $5 cover charge but again worth it! Drinks are decently priced and the bartender was heavy handed last night 😜 just go, you wont be disappointed.
Had such a great time! Went to Howl for our girls trip one night while we were in town and it was absolutely amazing. We got the rail seating which was such a great deal for those who wanted to seat and have our stuff safe. Our waitress was so attentive and patient with us throughout the night. The musicians were so talented and the whole night was just fantastic
Excellent bartenders, kind and courteous servers, n the patrons make the atmosphere friendly. The band playing was awesome. The one female singer can really sing and the rest of the band was pretty awesome themselves. Will definitely go back next time Im in Louisville
One of the best times I have ever had. Props to all the musicians and most of all Soloman Crowe!!!!
We had a great time. Great musicians played some really fun music!!!
Such fun!!! Celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary!! Musicians were awesome, so talented!
We had the best time! The live music was awesome. The drink places are right on oiint. Dont skip out on this place! The vibe was awesome.
Great atmosphere. Good drinks. Great service. The entire band is awesome and very talented all are multi-talented playing instruments. I had a very fun time. If youre down on 4th Street its a great place to go.
We LOVE this place! Its dueling pianos with a full band of musicians that rotate around and can play a wide array of instruments and can literally play any song you request!- ITS AMAZING! Our server was very attentive and really sweet! Its just a blast and has become our favorite place and we cant wait to go back tonight❤️
$10 per person cover charge. Not many places to sit in the bar had to sit on the patio where the beggers kept coming up and asking for money. The pianos were great though.
Solomon thank you for me making me feel welcome and helping me get the party started! I was a great time!
Piano bars are always fun and this one is great for drinks and service! Would go again.
We reserved rail seats fir a Saturday night. Had a great time. Place was likely and by 10pm was packed. Service was great.
Lots of fun and the piano players and singers where awesome!!! Love there bucket drinks!! A little pricey but it had top self liquor so well worth it. You can share it with friends or drink it all your self. You will get really drunk off the one we got which was called the ADIOS MOFO!!! 64OZ of great liquor!!
We had a wonderful time! Could not have been more fun. Our reservations got us a wonderful table and the entertainers were simply great!!
If you go here, do NOT leave an open tab! I went here on 8/18 and ordered 3 buckets, ~$32 a piece. I was told initially by a bartender as I was ordering that if I don’t close my tab before I leave, it will be automatically closed at the end of the night with 20% gratuity. I was completely fine with this and didn’t bother closing out when I left… until I looked at my card statement the following Monday and saw a charge for $318. Emailed the bar and spoke with the GM who said that a zero was “accidentally” placed on the end of the tip changing it from $21 to $210… GM was quick to fix the issue which was nice, but I don’t see how whoever closed my tab accidentally gave themselves over 100% tip when it was supposed to be 20%.
Thank you Howl at the Moon Louisville for a great night! We came into town to celebrate our daughters 21st birthday. She absolutely loved it. Great atmosphere and the entertainers had excellent crowd work/engagement. The special birthday bag was a nice surprise, with all of us going home with a little memento from the night. Well definitely be back next time were in Louisville!!
We came to Howl at the Moon as part of the bourbon and beyond festival pre-party. It was fun. It wasn’t the best dueling piano bar I’ve ever been to, but it was typical of most and we had a good time. As part of the festival package, we had a limited drink menu and they were good.
10/10 would recommend. Loved the music all the drinks were amazing. Staff was very friendly and took care of us. I felt very safe with the entire staff. Got to meet guests without feeling uncomfortable. Great place!
If youre looking for a night out with great music and drinks, Howl at the Moon is the place to be. This awesome piano bar is definitely one of my favorites, with a fantastic atmosphere and reasonable prices on drinks. The highlight of Howl at the Moon is definitely the live piano music. The pianists are incredibly talented and know how to get the crowd going. You can request your favorite songs and sing along with your friends. Its the perfect spot for a celebration or a fun night out with friends. The staff at Howl at the Moon are also very friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience, from recommending drinks to taking requests for songs. The prices on drinks are also very fair, which is always a plus. The only downside to Howl at the Moon is the limited seating. If youre planning to go on a busy night, you might have to stand for a while before a table becomes available. However, once you find a spot, its definitely worth the wait.Overall, I would highly recommend Howl at the Moon to anyone looking for a fun night out with great music and drinks. The piano bar is awesome, the staff is nice and welcoming, and the prices are very reasonable. Just be prepared to stand for a bit if its a busy night!
We ALWAYS have a great time at Howl at the Moon! Go have a bucket drink with your friends and sing and dance the night away. Donate a few bucks and say something special on the mirrors.
Such a fun experience! We sang soo much and the entertainment was amazing! Great voices, great musicians, and the drinks were delicious 😋 A must to start or end to your night out in downtown Louisville 😀
Holy smokes. These musicians have talent coming out of everywhere. I am so glad that I found this place while I was here. The service is fantastic too. Cheers from Manitoba, Canada…I’ll be bragging about what I saw.
Theres a lot of talent on this stage. Ive had a blast every night Ive gone.
Went for a bachelor weekend and we had a blast. The performers were fantastic. Service was good. I loved the peanut butter old fashioned.
I love the energy of this place. I was there with my daughter who functions at about age 15. She wanted them to sing Sweet Annie for my 70th birthday. After some back and forth with management they sang the song, they did not know. Thank you for honoring my daughter for my birthday. Your team is the best. My favorite place on 4th street.
Super fun atmosphere. Suppeeer crowded tho, which is to be expected. We went on a Sunday evening around 10. We just hung around to hear a song or two, so I cant really comment on the food or service!
Our experience at Howl At The Moon was great this evening! It was just another date night at a new spot, but it turned out to be such fun! We absolutely loved the drink menu but the musicians were phenomenal!!! I could not believe how diverse they were in the genres of music and each one could play multiple instruments! Our waitress was adorable! Very beautiful, personable and inviting! She wasn’t pushy when it came time to order drinks & she was knowledgeable in the spirits. There were high & low tables available as well as the bar. Everyone just seemed to have a great time. The band was interactive! A few birthdays, a few bridal parties were present. I really enjoyed being able to request music to be played. All in all, this was a great time! A great location! Great drink prices & great service!
Always fun. Waitress was wonderful, drinks were colorful, the pianists -talented
My wife and I have done New Years Eve at a different location every year since we met. Never have we had so much fun. Howl At The Moon will be our spot from here on out. Everything was fantastic. The food, drinks music and party were all over the top. The talent of the band members was unbelievable.See ya next year!
Not having the side bar open was super inconvenient. We brought a large group and the security was giving us a hard time with the cover for no reason. The live band was mediocre. We went to come back on Thursday, realized it was the same band and turned around to go to PBR.
Went to both the Fiday and Saturday evening shows. Glad we gave them another shot, as the sound was not tuned well on Friday, to the point where the voices of those with a higher pitch almost drove us out of there (think nails on a chalkboard). Luckily the sound was tuned with less tenor and more bass on Saturday. Overall, both shows were good, but no one performer really stood out as amazing like at some other piano bars. Dont get me wrong...everyone was trying hard and they were all good, and there were definitely some stand-out moments (Get Low on Friday) . I will say that their fiddle player does the best (and fastest) rendition of Devil Went Down to Georgia that Ive ver heard...she was on fire both nights.
Service is on point, quick, friendly and attentive. One of the bartenders entertained are party by flipping bottles. Really fun time! Music was SOOOO fun to interact with the people on stage!
Excellent! Our group of 27 was easily accommodated and wow was the atmosphere amazing! The band was super and very entertaining. Drinks were great! The waitress we had was so great getting us what we needed in a timely manner. Gotta go back!
Probably our favorite place to go when out at 4th Street Live! The atmosphere is always great, however, drink prices are a bit high for what you get. If it werent for the drink prices I would have given them a 5 star.
MJ our waitress was awesome, Brett, Johnny and Justin were so fun, amazingly talented, a blast!!We were visiting from Texas and had so much fun!!
Came here for a friend reunion at got there at open. The atmosphere is fantastic. They have a wide range of drinks and all of the people there are awesome. The band was incredible and talked with us. Ended up being like the only group there due to flooding, but I imagine the place is always incredible. If you are in the area you have to stop by.
Cool place! It was pretty sparse as most of downtown is. I would give it 5 stars if the drinks werent as expensive. It wasnt anything crazy but still felt on the expensive side. The 2 pianists were incredible! Our group had a blast! And the drummer was unbelievable!! Anyways, we are headed back in the day or 2! Great time
Libby is great. What a great place with a great management team. Second to none.
Booked a reservation for my 30th birthday and drove in from out of town. Got there late due to traffic and theres no number to call. They gave away our tables. It was so crowded, our group couldnt even step in. We offered to come back another night, cancel or stay with at least a few comped drinks and they said no to all. Even the door man was like woah I cant believe she wont help you at all - they usually work with people. Which concerns me there is a nefarious reason the manager chooses to work with some and not me. They didnt even include the gift cards that were promised with the package. We had to leave and thats two tables worth of money down the drain.
It’s a pretty fun experience if you want both karaoke and live music vibes. Drinks are reasonably priced, about $6 for a 16oz beer. My only problem was the cover. $20 per person?? I know we were there on a Saturday night, but basically we felt like we had to stay there because the cover was so damn high. It really ruins the atmosphere of 4th Street Live when every individual bar charges a cover, and I think that’s why it’s not really popular anymore.
The atmosphere was alot of fun. The drinks where great and the band was excellent. We had a blast. I highly recommend !
Musicians were amazingly talented but they played an obviously precanned set list and were not willing to deviate unless someone threw down $40 or more. My experience at other locations has been more spontaneous and crowd driven.
Most of the dueling piano performers are very talented. We snagged a table so it was comfortable and good people watching. The energy is high, expect to be dancing and yelling what? to whoever youre there with.
So much fun! Live music and lots of laughs. The Bar service was great. They were busy but we didnt wait. It was a great time!
What a riot!! The musicians amazed me with all of their musical knowledge. I requested a song they didnt know, they went in the back and learned it in 15 minutes!! Super lively bar, good drinks and good staff. Overall my favorite bar, and we spent hours in there just because it was so fun. Will return on my next trip!
The band was awesome, but dont expect to get a drink at the bar. The managers sit around with their hands in their pockets watching the bar staff drowning in the sea of customers.
The musicians are so talented and have a great stage presence. They make the songs and whole experience lots of fun! They can play just about anything you throw at them and they each can play multiple instruments. What a fun place!
Great drink selections and friendly staff. The musicians the night we were there were incredibly talented. All rotated between pianos, guitars, drums, vocals, and more. Incredible entertainment.
Ive been there twice. Fantastic time. What a band! The waitress that served us last week was on point, and we were a big group.
Our waitress Bernadette was amazing. So friendly and on top of everything. We absolutely loved John Ellis on the mic! Hes truly a spectacular talent. There was another preformer whos name we missed but she rocked the mic and the dance floor. Such a fun time.
Went here as part of my friends bachelor party and booked some tables in advance. I accidentally booked too many tables but Carol did a great job sorting it out and the value of the package was great. Pianists were very talented and we all had a great time. Definitely recommend stopping by if youre in town.
I wish they sold food. Great for our bachelorette party, but we had to leave and come back for food. They took care of everything else and my group has a blast. They even made me a fancy virgin drink (on the house!) Because I was the pregnant DD. The musicians were hilarious and extremely talented. Loved it.
We had so much fun and the music was live and entertaining! I havent danced so late into the night since I was younger and this place made me feel youthful!
Absolutely TALENTED group of artists. Able to sing and play any song requested. My grandpa is still taking about how much fun he had. Great selection of drinks at fair prices. Clothing is casual to cocktail. Dancing option (not many were dancing when I was there in a weekday).
Such a great piano bar. We loved the atmosphere and one of the female singers was absolutely phenomenal. We will be back
John (Jon?) the bartender at the back bar was amazing and had great information on how to best enjoy our vacation in Louisville. Music was great and awesome drink selection. Definitely will be back!
My husband, brother and sister in law had a great time at Howl at the Moon! We were so entertained by the musicians who could swap roles and play all the instruments! They were some pretty talented people. Our waitress was super fun too. She had a lot of positive energy and joked around with us too.
It was a fun atmosphere, our server was great and fun. Drinks were awesome as well, we got the bachelorette package, but my only issue is that they didnt call the bride to the stage like the package said. It was a real downer and it was the only issue we had. If I had known that they werent going to call her to the stage, I would have picked a different package.
This is NOT dueling pianos. This is really going somewhere to see live music. These people are talented musicians, but there is very limited audience participation. I have been to piano bars billed as such across the country and this is NOT what it is billed outside. If they change their format and decide to focus less on a performance style and more on the crowd, it will be a lot more fun for everyone (and they will make exponentially more money). The drinks were WAAAAY too expensive and we knew the format was bad when we were leaving after two hours and no one was outside on a Saturday night. This was a holiday weekend. Change the format! Drop drink prices! This should not be karaoke-ish for your musicians. You have one guy who interacts with the audience and has personality. Keep him. He is great! Also, our server was great, but that wasnt enough to drive us up to 2 stars. This piano bar is not worth your time.
This place is a hoot! The crowd is as much the entertainment as the musicians. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is outstanding. Be prepared its not a quiet little piano bar - this is a high energy, loud, crowd active experience. A wonderful place for a night out with friends.
I ordered a round here for my friends and gave the bartender $40 on a $24 check. After a minute or two of waiting for my change, I reminded the bartender that I was expecting some $ back(I had to yell slightly because of the band). He went on serving other patrons so I tried getting his attention again. 5 seconds later I was asked to leave because no one yells at the bar!... No questions asked. I quickly realized why I had avoided 4th St. Live for the longest time. Literally every other bar district in the city is better, so dont waste your time. Avoid this tourist dump that will apparently kick you out and steal your money in the process.
I had a great time the music was awesome and everyone in there was super friendly
WOW! I went with few friends on my birthday for a birthday celebration we had a grand time. Two Dueling Pianos and then several other talented musicians. The drinks were awesome maybe a little pricey but they were still good.
Not a review but a question. I’m coming from Cincinnati and taking a trip to Louisville this weekend and would like to stop by here. My only concern is that I recently turned 21 and just got my ID flipped and was given a temporary paper license until my new one comes in the mail. Will this be an acceptable form of ID? Just don’t want to make the long trip if I’m going to get turned down.
Every year we attend a company function and every year it isnt a complete trip without stopping in at Howl at the end of a long conference day. Staff is always very prompt and stays on top of drinks even when the place is packed and of course the musicians are always great. Definitely something to experience if you dont have one where you are from and are traveling to the Louisville area.
The service and musicians are great but their drinks are terrible. Stick to stuff in a can that the bartenders are not making.
This is the best option on fourth street for a night out with good live music and drinks for the value. There was one female singer who was amazing and kept the crowd going all night. There were four performers rotating piano, guitar, and singing. The bartenders give a double pour for a single price. A fun place with a good crowd.
Mildly infuriated. Went to the bar and ordered a Jack and Coke. Bartender said No problem and started making it. I noticed he was pouring the soda from a blue bottle. When he brought it over I said Thats not Coke. He took my card and said No we use Pepsi here.So does every bartender there just think its ok to make a drink thats close enough to what someone orders? I dont like Pepsi, so essentially I ended up buying a drink I didnt even order or want. He didnt even seem concerned with it, didnt even pause to take my card and charge me for it.Even McDonalds will tell you they dont serve Pepsi when you order it. Nice to know the standards for your bar staff are lower than that.
The dualing pianos were great as well as the bartenders, however the bouncers were aggressive and just straight up rude. Doing your job is one thing, however going after people deliberately when they are not even close to being out of line is bad.
Great music, fun atmosphere, decent drinks, albeit service was a bit shoddy due to how packed it was but would definitely come back again!
I came to The Howl at the Moon the weekend before 4th of July and the ambience was great. There was a live band playing hits from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. The vocals of the band was phenomenal, however, the instrument didnt seemed to be connected to the main speaker system which was the only negative thing. The band was interactive with the crowd and full of energy. The drinks were reasonable and the staff was friendly and attentive.
Had a really great time and came on a good night. Live music was amazing and the people watching was too. Drinks were good and so was the staff!! Will come back. Too bad the floor isn’t bigger though and there aren’t more seats. That’s my only complaint.
If youre looking for talented and interactive live entertainment then Howl At The Moon is the place for you. Band is very receptive to the audiences energy and requests, and theyll play anything. Staff is all very friendly and seem happy to be there. Drinks may be a bit pricey but youre really paying for the enjoyment of being at this clean, fun, and rockin bar. Really cant say enough about the entertainment.
I have never had so much fun at a bar before! Howl at the Moon is so much more than just a bar though. It is literally half bar/half concert. We made table reservations. Totally worth it. Our server Frankie was Ah-mazing!! We loved her. We never had an empty drink. The entertainers were SO FREAKING AWESOME!! I could not believe the level of talent those people had. From Beyonce to Charlie Daniels Band they could do it all!! Outstanding!! I could seriously go on and on and on! I will be back!! No doubt!! So much fun. We visited on Friday October 25 2019.
Great performers but in two nights much less crowd participation and vibe as other locations, Chicago gets some love.
I absolutely loved this place. Fun, lively place with a diverse group of people. They do requests, if you tip them you usually get bumped up in the request list. Great staff, great drinks, awesome musicians.
This place is one of the best on fourth street. Love it.
Great entertainment, all of the performers were very talented.I wouldnt do the $100 reservation deal, its a total rip off. We clearly have what we would get in writing but when we got there we were told the manager screwed up and we werent getting everything as promised (in writing). In my business if we screw up we make it right with the customer. We were told the manager would stop by and talk with us about it but he/she never did.I guarantee you we would have spent way more than the value of the items they decided not to give us. Instead we sipped our beers and enjoyed the performers.
This is a pretty cool bar!I love the dueling piano aspect. It definitely puts an interesting twist on entertainment! We took my friend here to celebrate her 21st birthday and upon requesting, they sang her happy birthday! It was so cool. The reason I am giving a 4 star, is because I think their drink prices are a bit higher. It is 4th street and I understand that, but there are other bars around town that I can get the same drinks for a better price.Overall, if you are new to town and want an fun experience, I would recommend this as a nice little hangout.
Great place! The band was fantastic. Great atmosphere
Loved it! There are literal buckets of drinks. Plus piano battles! I even won a free drink ticket for dancing out like I was Tina Turner! If you are looking to relax with a drink, be entertained, or go a little wild.... this is the place!
I definitely recommend going here if you are in town! Awesome entertainment with great bar service!
Oh, I was hollering at a hot babe. Literally howling at the Moon and I get put out after I spent my good money that I missed the atmosphere pretty ladies
I was extremely disappointed with the liberal attitude in the bar. The musicians were border line and refused to acknowledge anything that did not align with a liberal pout of view. It’s a shame I will never return and I will make sired everyone I talk to understand the political views of this establishment!
We had one of the best times of our lives. Weve been to a lot of drinking establishments and never have saw so many talented musicians. I highly recommend that you stop in here for a good time.
This is my favorite spot in downtown Louisville and I always go when we’re in town. It’s always a blast and the performers are ridiculously talented. Wasn’t super thrilled with the $10 cover charge (didn’t have that last time I had been) especially when you are not likely to get a table and have to stand all night.
Great place to go out. went there for a birthday party, we had way too much fun. staff was amazing. we will be going there again soon!
My husband and I love coming here whenever we get a chance. The atmosphere is great and the staff is super friendly! Great drinks and great music. Will keep coming back!
Attended New Years Eve Party, the music/entertainment was great, it made the night. The included food and beverage was just ok, I was definitely not really impressed with that part of our evening.
Ok I had to bump this up to a full five star. I had such a great time requesting and singing along with the performers. At some point in the night I ended up on the dance floor. I would definitely recommend this place.
I was very disappointed with this bar. The door hosts and servers were friendly, but the problem I saw was the the bartenders and mangers were drinking on the job. they seemed oblivious to what was going on. When ordering from the bar it took over 10 mins to get a drink, finally the barback asked if we had been helped. This was very unprofessional. The drinks where mediocre at best. There specialty drinks are way to sweet with little alcohol in them. The band did there best to make everyone have a good time. Overall did not enjoy my visit to this bar. You are better off going to other bars on the street
We had a wonderful time at the Louisville Howl at the Moon! Staff were very friendly and seemed to work together. There were a lot of laughs that we will remember for years to come. Thanks Howl at the Moon for an unforgettable weekend with you!! :)
The musicians are great. But the servers and manager are racist. For example, when I was trying to politely leave a feedback, the server told me, “I am not interested in your feedback.” When I contacted the manager he said “I can not discipline my employees here”. He didn’t even acknowledge, forget apologizing. In my busy day job as a doctor, I do my best to save lives without a hint of discrimination. When I come out to unwind at this place, I am humiliated due to color of my skin. This is so heartbreaking.
I had heard that they hosted bachelorette parties that were supposed to get pretty wild, so I was expecting a dark nightclub or something. This place is so much better than Id expected. Its got a cozy tavern kind of feel and the love music is fantastic. Very reasonably priced drinks if you go the reservation route, otherwise theyre a little expensive. The downside for me was the bathroom attendant. I thought wed all decided as a society to do away with that. I hate feeling awkward or forced into tipping for someone handing me a paper towel.
The house band was really talented and pleasant to listen to. It is very loud in here, though thats somewhat expected. Not a great place for conversation, though. Decent beer selection, mostly bottled.
Its a piano bar it has to be great. We loved singing along.
Way more than I was expecting. Super fun and great show.
$10 cover was a bit unexpected, and drinks were pricey but thats what you get for the area I guess. Band was very very good. They took requests the whole night and even if they didnt know something they did their best to get something close enough. Very friendly staff and bartenders
Summary, the drinks are very watered down and expensive (for anything less than the full drink I ordered). The piano playing was good and they played requests that we asked for. The drinks however, were very watererd down. Members of my group had upwards of 7 shots in less than an hour and were never intoxicated (though watering down the shots probably gave the bachelor a better night). A one who regularly drinks scotch, Id like to think I can judge a 40% alcohol shot when sipped and these didnt have the burn, evaporation, or taste when I kept it in my mouth. Watered down is unacceptable when its cheap none the less when its almost $10 per drink.
Bouncer was extremely rude do not recommend
Great place to have a great night out. The vibe is awesome. The live entertainment is very fun and high energy.
Depends on the night. Ive been there when it was packed and crazy and had a blast. Other nites it was dead early and at prime time a couple tables of tour bussers were the only other patrons. Call ahead and ask if they have seating for 30. If they say yes without hesitation, might want to go elsewhere that night.
The entertainment was awesome. The service at the bar great. Our server was okay. I look forward to our next visit there.
Great talent, great drinks. I highly recommend reserving a table. It can be hard to find a place to sit otherwise.
Fun time with live music and dancing. Drinks are good but were inconsistent tonight between the 2 bars. One had barely discernible bourbon, the other was made to the correct recipe. Ill still go back, but I will watch the bartenders.
This is the place to be for live music. And its not just pianos. There are multiple instruments in action at Howl at the moon. Plus they take requests, so come prepared with the songs that will liven up the room and energize the crowd! Its always fun when your song gets played.
THE ONLY place in Louisville for amazing live music and a fantastic atmosphere! The staff is amazing as is the entertainment. Extremely inviting atmosphere and staff. Kudos to that team for an unforgettable night out!
This was my second time there had a ball the first time. Saturday had sister in law come from out of town so we want to take them to see the show. Once we got to the door the guy stated it was $7.00 a person.I stated to him what happened to $5.00 a person. The price changes after 9 oclock were luck to pay $7.00.So I paid $28 dollars gave him $40 dollars as his was giving me my change back he took a dollar and stated this is for us if its ok if not it not going to break us if you say No. I Think that was rude of him to take a dollar and put it in his cup without letting me make that choice if i want to give them a tip... I will not be going back to this place again......
Get there EARLY! The doors open at 7 pm, and I recommend being there at 7. The show starts at 8, and the seats fill up within 15 minutes. So if you want a seat and to avoid the cover charge, get there early.
First night there we had a blast drinking and dancing. Second night there was a private party for the company we work for. Wait staff did an excellent job of making sure the drinks were always full.
My absolute favorite bar. Musicians are amazingly talented and keep the crowd engaged. Fun for adults of all ages, staff are very attentive and fun.
These dudes open late, play no music when entering. Do not unchain the chairs from the patio. Then complain when asked. I’ll gladly take my dinero elsewhere. Good day
The music was great, but the establishment reminded me of an oversized dive bar. The musicians are better off somewhere else. They got a lot of talent they are wasting there.
All five of the musicians were absolutely incredible The one girl I think her name was Rachel blew me away especially with her fiddle so good and I cant wait to go back
If I could rate a zero I would. I was asked to leave because a friend fell and hurt her knee. We had two drinks (because it’s a bar) but we were not “drunk” as they called us. I was told I’m “entitled.” That bouncer does not know me and that couldn’t be further from the truth. I asked to talk to a manager but a manager never came. This is the worst place to go in Louisville where they not only insult their customers, but have total lack of concern.
Very nice dueling piano bar. The musicians were very talented, frequently switching instruments, not just tickling the ivories!
Fun place to grab a drink with a large group. We came here on a Thursday and the performers were ok at best. nevertheless, a fun place to come with your friends, request your favourite song and drink.
So fun! Lots of talented musicians who created a great time!
The dialing piano show was awesome. The place was standing room only, but the crowd made it a fun evening. A bathroom attendant in a bar is weird.
Second Howl at the Moon Ive been too. First time in Philadelphia. Both times I was not under impressed. Good time for a group of people. Talented musicians; would definitely go back if Im in town with a group again.
We were the first to sit on the patio area. It filled up quick out there. Not one time did a server come out to take drink orders.
Great place to go out with friends
Dont be fooled by other Howl At The Moons. This is not dualing pianos. One person plays the piano then another person does. It completely lacked the personally and vibe of a piano bar. They mine as well just played a DJ because it sounded like pop radio. Extremely disappoint especially after playing $10 cover to get in.
Really fun atmosphere and awesome live music. Be sure to add this destination to your visit if your in the area.
Friendly service at the bar and table. The music was a good mix of genres and the crowd was up dancing and having a great time. A good place for a night or with friends.
Live music, great vibe, in a GREAT location with otherclubs orbiting ! Only criticism is its pretty SMALL for the LARGE crowd it tries to accommodate.
Very talented artists, drinks were reasonable given the environment. Its a little tight but what else do you expect on a weekend. Would definitely return.
Visited for the New Years Celebration. Had a great time!
Nice live music!! Band was kinda ugh but overall fun place!!
Great Atmosphere and event sales was easy to work with, and quickly responded to any questions I had!! Our waitress was great as well!
Its a typical (?) Howl at the Moon experience. Slightly smaller than the Baltimore location Ive been to, however, same layout. Nice staff, fairly attentive. Place gets packed and people get up on stage (which is usually not a bad thing). A hotspot for bachelorette parties- youve been warned.
Great live music and good drinks. Artists were able to cover a wide range of songs and were really entertaining.
This bar is the most Horrible and I mean Horrible bar on 4th Street. The employees are actually. But the GM Robert is the most horrible and nastiest person to call himself a manager. If theres an issue he will ignore you he charges way to much for very little alcohol he walks around with the most fake smile ever but yet witness him talking down to employees one of them was autistic and he was treating him like crap. To me thats not something I will stand for but if you go hear your basically saying you support this.. Please if you want to have fun and get your 💰moneys worth go to Any place other than here... Would give zero stars if possible...
Had a lot of fun on a Sunday evening all three musicians were excellent. The servers were very attentive. I would return when Im in town.
Music and Atmosphere was great! There was a $5 cover charge one Saturday night. But it was worth it
Spent $10 to get in and left within 30 minutes. Wasnt impressed with the sound and there was no energy on the stage. Shouldve stayed at PBR for free. Ill give it another chance, but with lower expectations.
We had a table reserved! Got the best service, enjoyed all of the music, not just pianos!
The bar service was great but we requested a song (Fancy by Reba) early in the evening and tipped generously but the song was never played while other songs were replayed. Not pleased.
A very fun atmosphere. The live band was very entertaining. Gotta love Bachelorette parties you are not invited to.
Exceptional service! Excellent show! We were escorted to our reserve table by the manager. One of the best experiences we’ve ever had!
Fantastic venue. Great drinks, and great music. Definitely would recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to go and get a drink.
The entertainment and atmosphere was fantastic! Such a great group of entertainers! Our bar service great as well.
My husband has explained to me that regulars shouting tunelessly along with the able musicians is business as usual at a piano bar. So I guess I need to quit thinking of it as a chamber of horrors.
Great place! Live piano and band, fun atmosphere, staff is quick to get drinks. I will go again
When we first got there they was a younger group of people there and they were playing that kind of music but after a while they started playing music for us older generation! All in all a great time!!!
Had an awesome time for 80s night! We dressed up for the 80s party. I was a rockstar and she was my groupie. Will definitely be back!
Servers were excellent! One entertainer was awesome the others so so, but all in all a great atmosphere to unwind and have fun.
