This is going to sound odd but I had a sincerely life changing experience at Spaulding Rehab Malden. Matthew was my therapist and taught me so much about improving my mobility, body awareness, flexibility and strength that its hard to put into words.Working with him was a sincere pleasure and I would recommend anyone needing his unique talents to him unreservedly. I will be eternally grateful for his help and assistance over the last month or two.
The administrative staff, secretaries are extremely rude. Be aware that you probably will be dealing with a rude and dismissive person when scheduling and when going there. And its an office culture not just one of them but must of them are rude and condescending.
I have been a patient at Spaulding Malden twice in the past 5 years -- most recently for post-surgery rehab (failed vascular surgery in both legs). My therapist Jessica G helped me get the confidence I needed to increase my cardiopulmonary and neuromuscular reserve so I had hopes of returning to significant mobility despite having been forced to curtail exercise for 18 months postop.I had other issues arise while in Jesscias care: reinjury of an old meniscus tear on my gyms treadmills, and then a dreaded backward fall in my bathroom. Jessica seamlessly handled each issue as it arose. I strongly recommend Jessica and Spaulding Malden.
Although they could not help my mother whose has not been able to walk in over 2+ yrs, they instead they not give up on her! Instead, they took the time to explain why they felt they couldnt be of service in her road to recovery & was even kind enough to transfer her case to their Charlestown/Boston site as well as set up her next appt there!Rather than tell us No, we cant help you! like everyone else we wet to prior (due to health insurance issues); they went the distance, & actually HELPED us! Thank you so very much for all your help & time in this matter, Spaulding Rehab Malden & especially to Maya & Tina who took the time & patience w/ my mother as well as me to explain my mothers condition to us both!!I HIGHLY recommend Spaulding Rehab Malden to anyone & everyone who needs orthopedic physical/occupational therapies! I know l will go here the next time lm in need of help again!
Im a returning patient and Ive been trying to schedule for months. I send messages, send appointment requests in the patient portal, and call. But I can never get through via phone and dont hear back from the messages/appointment requests (it even says read by staff on XX date at YY time of the day).
Ive been to Spaulding locations in Boston, Medford, and Malden over 300 days inpatient and outpatient over the since 2015; theres a reason why Spaulding network has been voted #2 by US News and World report. Quite simply the best hospital and outpatient available in the Boston area to rehab.
Good group but absurdly expensive. I went on referral from my PCP. The first visit was not PT but a conversation (billed as an evaluation) about an hour to understand my issues; approximately 30 minutes of background questions, 15 minutes of range of motion exercises, and 15 minutes of balance exercises. If you can stomach the cost or have really good insurance its fine, otherwise there are much better values in the area.Edit: 1hr of PT is billed at $470. This is approximately 4x the national rate. Im not sure how they can justify these rates.
Wonderful experience from a warm welcome at the front desk (thank you , Luisa) to easy scheduling and superb physical therapy (THANKS Stephanie Dimino). I give my experience the highest possible recommendation.
The physical therapist I have is amazing.
