Marie is the absolute best! Seriously, I have been getting massages for decades and she is truly the best I have ever had. The front desk is always kind and extremely professional as well. Thanks massage envy
BUYER BEWARE!!! Due to the Covid shut down, I had about a whole year’s worth of credits accumulated and then there was hardly anybody to even schedule with for the following year and now I’m being denied a refund. The current manager of the W. Lake St store is extremely rude. It’s a great reminder to myself that if I’m ever that rude to people , I would be so embarrassed for myself. I hope Massage Envy corporate enjoys the $1000 of mine plus the next few months of my money because I’m going to do everything I possibly can to spread the word/Posting online , about their very poor customer satisfaction policies.I wanted to pause my membership, but then I can’t even use my credits!! And then, If I cancel my membership I have 2 months to use my credits or forfeit the money! Wait, what?? It’s MY money. How am I supposed to use 18 credits in 2 months. And then I PAID $10 to gift 1 credit to my boss because she’s amazing and then I find out oh, you can only gift one credit every two months to someone. AND YES THEY CHARGE $10 to transfer 1 credit!!Unbelievable, I’ve been a paying customer for FIVE YEARS and this is how customers are treated.BUYER BEWARE! BUYER BEWARE!
Excellent experience!!! I have been a Massage Envy member for 7 years now and have had a wide range of therapists. Marie is incredibly skilled. My boyfriend saw Heather for the second time this evening and we will both be returning to this location. Yes, you do have to book out in advance but thats just how it goes when the massage therapists are good at what they do!
It would be a zero star if I didn’t have sympathy for how Covid affected finding help. The quality of their masseuses has dropped off dramatically. However, that isn’t the reason for the poor review. The issue is the bait and switch they pulled with their “membership”. It is close to impossible to find a time to get a massage at any Massage Envy across the U.S. I used to be able to find an appointment while traveling for work but that is now next to impossible. Be prepared to find an obscure time to go with a less than qualified masseuse. They were happy to take my monthly dues even when I was unable to find appointments. Avoid the membership at all costs, it’s a racket.
Horrible customer service. Cancelled membership during difficult pregnancy. I had 8 massages to use but was unable to use any until postpartum. They gave me double the time to use the 8 massages, however most of that time occurred during my pregnancy (this left me with one month to use 8 massages!). I called to see if they could extend it for a short period (I had 2 remaining) but both Ashley and Jenny (manager) refused to reinstate my remaining credits. They stated I had long enough to use them. Never mind that I had a MEDICAL reason. This location used to have great customer service but has gone the same direction as the other locations. Avoid their horrible service and go to one of the other numerous monthly massage places that exist. Also, when I initially cancelled in 9/16 I told Ashley there was absolutely no way Id be able to use the credits by 12/31 and she stated dont worry about it. Just contact us and well extend it. Well that was clearly a lie. Furthermore, every time I called to book a massage it was impossible to get in with the massage therapist of my choice. There is a reason they only get 2.9 stars!
For anyone that knows how difficult it is to find an exceptional massage therapist, This is not the place to find out. When they make you commit to a year long contract without knowing what you are going to get, well to me, that is not very customer service friendly. I understand its part of the business model to guarantee revenue, but it should be about pleasing your customers first. It took 4 months before I finally found a Massage Therapist Marie that could apply enough pressure, and responded to my body, not just gave me a generic massage. My other complaint is the only Massage Therapist I found that could do the job well, was always booked up for 3 weeks+ in advance, and as you know, when you need a massage, You simply cannot wait for 3 weeks and I didnt want to take the chance and pay for another massage when it would be a waste of time and money. On the other hand, I received an excellent Facial from Sonya which I was quite happy with at the very end.
I was excited as I purchased a Fathers Day massage for my husband and received a complimentary facial. I had previously had an excellent experience with a long term esthetician who is now retired. No problem scheduling an appointment, my facial experience was quite adequate until I arrived home and realized she had not completed extractions on several areas of blocked pores.I contacted Massage Envy and was told there was not an option to return to complete the facial, that I would need to reschedule an additional facial (according to a manager) and there was no offer to do this without a charge. Im thinking very poor customer service here!!!!8/4/17: After this review, I received a call from a manager who offered a complimentary facial that was efficiently scheduled and was excellent.I will be returning to Massage Envy for future services!
Don’t get the membership!! I tried to cancel during Covid to comply with CDC guidance but they wouldn’t let me - said I needed an approved doctors note. I continued paying through the end of my membership and asked them to cancel. They never sent a cancellation form but continued to charge me. No refund. I can’t even give away the massage credits I have because none of my friends want them. All bad experiences. They are cheaper than other places - you get what you pay for. The good therapists leave. Buyer beware!!
The website said first appointment is around $50 but when I tried to book it said $115 for 60 minutes with no add-ons just basic. Also to book a therapist who would do deep-tissue technique id have to wait 3 weeks; which is perfectly fine except it tells me if I get their membership, I wouldnt be getting what I want as often as I wanted. Something to consider!!! So as a result of these details I will not be going to massage envy. This review is for their questionable booking system and scarsity-of-services issue only.
I used to really like Calhoun, but then the cancellations started. and twice they didnt even call me when they cancelled my appointment, so I took my time to get ready and get there, only to find I had no appointment. I have significant vertebrae issues in my low back and neck, I dont come for relaxation massages, they are therapeutic. Seems my regular therapist decided he liked the fluff ones, and I was too much work. He suddenly had a lot of family emergencies at my appointment time. I gave him one last chance, he made it very clear he didnt want to work on me anymore, the fun, happy guy that would chat through all my sessions was suddenly terse, quiet, just barely this side of rude. Done. So I cancelled any pending appointments. Time to go to another facility.
Great massage and facial services! Wearing a mask every day at work was wreaking havoc on my face and I was starting to feel self conscious. Getting facials has literally reset my skin. It is an important part of my self care routine now. I feel incredibly happy to have these services!
First massage ever..and Ive been around 7 decades. Silver was kind, patient, answered all questions, then provided ( though I have no comparisons obviously) what I believe was a very, very good massage. Found tender points, worked them, and provided deep tissue work that I would never have believed someone her size could provide.Trying to figure out a way to have a massage one time a month, here on out, because of this very positive experience.
Ive been a member for a while because of the location convenience. However I found the service inconsistent. It seems like u can ask for the same thing but every time the routine the therapist uses is different, there is also no consistency in terms of skill level across therapists. Also the contract for membership makes it as difficult as possible for you to cancel, my bad for not reading it thoroughly before signing up for a membership at a spa....the front desk has always been nice and helpful so no complaints there. Im determined to cancel my membership, and will not recommend anyone for signing up for membership. I find it appalling for a business not to hold itself to a high standard to retain customers, rather, uses legal tricks that they most certainly will do nothing to help you understand to trap u in the contract.Based on how they conduct their membership business, I really dont think highly of the company. The contract has also associated the spa with a very negative feeling of being manipulated. You lose the hearts you lose the business. Dont be so shortsighted.
TSUE IS OUTSTANDING. I just relocated here (Apr ‘21) and I’ve been driving all over the Twin Cities trying to get a good deep tissue massage. I will be back regularly to have her work on me! She knows what she’s doing. I’ve been a ME member for nearly 10 years and she’s one of the best I’ve had.Edit: I just read some other reviews of this location. I can’t believe it’s the same place. The Lake St. location I just left is new, in great shape, clean. The front desk was helpful. Look at my other reviews. I am blunt when it’s warranted. This ME is a good one.
Got a message the gentlemen was very professional and did a very good job everything was straight forward. I felt really good afterward and the experience was ruined by the front desk personnel. I was pitched the 6 month package to sign up and pay for it and I did not want to but I did ask to schedule another session as I wanted to see further results that both they and the masseuse said I would see with multiple treatments. I asked to see be called to set up more appointments because they were unable to set them up at the time due to scheduling. I never recieved a call or email. On top of this when I declined the package the lady I was speaking with gave a face. I dont think I will be a repeat customer and thats a shame because otherwise it was a great experience and would have liked to done one of the packages if I kept having good experiences.
Great place. Been a member for a couple of years now. Tried several different therapists at this location and found my favorite, Vicky, while doing prenatal massage last year and now she is my regular therapist. As a member cant beat the price, and its nice to be able to do facials there as well. The Murad products are nice. Highly recommend!
Massage Envy is one of the worst businesses I have ever interacted with. I was denied a copy of my medical records, which they are legally required to provide, and my calls were not returned by this locations management. When contacting their corporate office, they did not provide a copy of my records and have not returned my phone calls to resolve this issue. I would highly recommend never using this company.
I just called to book an appointment and the person at the front desk was just very rude. I wanted to book a couples massage but Ill be going somewhere else. Glad I didnt have to deal with them in person and waste my money.
YOU MUST SEE NANCY! By far the best massage Ive ever had. I tweak my lower back at least twice a year and she used a mix of light pressure on my lower back and reflexology on my feet and it definitely helped! She is very knowledgeable and such a caring soul. I HIGHLY recommend her!!
Today I received one of the best massages I’ve ever had in my life from Sia. She has a very soothing touch but most importantly, she truly listened to what I wanted and didn’t want in my massage. I usually like to switch up my therapists but I will definitely go back to Sia.
Ive had a chemical peel, the U.V dealy mih-bob (my skin looks amazeballs btw) Shelly took 10 years of parenting a teenage gorgeous daughter off my face!!!The most incredible massage by Theo...truly incredible. Like..almost spiritual.Love the place, my daughter loved working here, and love the staff that is knowledgeable and not fresh off the cosmo grad train. These amazing therapy and skin specialists are truly in the know.Having gone to Aveda 24 years ago myself? I know a thing or 2. 😎
I met with Tsue today and can honestly say she gave me one of the best massages Ive had with Massage Envy. Most massage therapists Ive seen are a bit too modest and end up missing entire muscle groups (glutes, adductors, etc.) but Tsue wasnt afraid to hit every area with confidence and skill. Highly recommend Tsue and I will definitely be booking with her again next month!
I am fed up with it. I have given Calhoun 5 chances...The front desk isnt very friendly...they arent very accommodating. I can never get in for an 2hr appointment. I do like the therapists(when I can get in)My suggestion is.... Eden Prairie has great front desk and highly skilled therapists. They are always working to get you in. I have referred over a dozen people because of their great customer service...if you can make the extra 15 minute drive, go to Eden prairie. It is worth it!. Calhoun just does NOT care!
WARNING!!! A 90 minute massage is actually 80 minutes, a 60 minute massage is actually 50 minutes. They say that you have 5 minutes before and after to prepare, but its taken off your massage time! Completely false advertising. EVERYWHERE else that is not a spa envy gives you the time you pay for. Not to mention the massage was run of the mill. NO, oils used or even secented air. It felt like the Mcdonalds of Massage. Ive been to many parts the world, ive gotten great and not so great massages, but i will never go back to Massage Envy!!!!!
Rachel is an absolutely amazing therapist! She is so mindful of her patients needs and desires for the session, I always get exactly what Im looking for be it relaxation, focus work, or otherwise. She always greets me with a warm smile and takes the time to talk things out with me and I feel comfortable talking to her about my needs, or asking her any questions I might have! Thank you, Rachel!
Bad from the start. Noone out front for over 5 min to great me. Had no clue what to do since I was new. I told her I needed to fill out paperwork. I chalked it up to her having a off day. The massage started out okay. I had a therapist named Marie. She was all over the place. A lot of elbow pressure with no consistancy. I paid more to get this massager used and she was all over my spine and could tell she wasnt engaged at all. I have had a ton of massages and this woman had no clue what she was doing. She just flat out didnt put any effort...almost seemed to drift off and get side tracked while massaging me. Idk it was horrible. She chucked and said well get ready to hurt tomorrow, I dont know what to tell you to do for that but yeah its going to hurt. Thats when I asked her to stop and I was done. She left. Wasnt outside when I got out so I tracked down the manager and she seemed shocked and didnt make me pay which I wouldnt have but she also very obviously wanted me to just leave quietly. It was a horrible experience. I found a sitter for my two children in order to treat myself and I ended up leaving in tears and in more pain than I went in.
0/5. My husband purchased a membership with them. THEY CANCELLED THE MASSAGE EVERY SINGLE TIME WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. WE ARE BEYOND FURIOUS. HIGHLY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. THEY TOOK OUR MONEY AND ARE NOT WILLING TO REFUND. WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS!?
Horrible massage, unfriendly staff, not worth your time, nor money. Also everything looks so out of date and dirty. Go to another Massage Envy, Golden Valley location is so much better.
It was ok and usually if I fall sleep that means Im getting great massage.
Quite happy, found a great massage therapist. The tipping is definitely pressured, which I don’t like but I’m sure it’s the same a lot of places.
Santiago and Joy are GREAT! Perfect end to a busy week! So much better than other Massage Envy locations Ive been to.
I attempted to work for this location it was a poor experience they needed documents that took time to get, so they fired me before I could start, then after weeks of ignoring my calls, they proudly yet distastefully let me know that they wont pay me for hours of ridiculous training!!! Therapist watch yourselves, they pretend to be ethical.
Tried to schedule an appointment online. Received an email saying my request was received and that I would be contacted shortly to confirm my appointment. Never heard from them. Unacceptable customer service. I guess they dont want my business.
Process and systems work great. The trouble is the revolving door of therapists. About the time you find a good one, they leave the company.
I had an excellent 90 min therapuetic massage by Marie. She is fun to talk to and I had a great experience here.
Massage envy is a a total scam. Dont do it!!!!!!. Massages are good but not at all convenient times or location and contracts are a scam.
They were very kind to me and my worst time in my life however they did not tell me that I should not have two massages with in 24 hours which left me with uncontrollable vomiting
If you could get an appointment easier itd be a solid 5 stars, maybe its just too popular, but I dont ever get my 1st choice.
Very difficult to schedule appointments these days. The actual services are good when you can get them.
The staff here are wonderful and really care about your needs. They focus on helping your problems, rather than making sales. Its a wonderful place to be!
Website doesn’t let you book appointments and says to call to book but then they don’t answer their phones either
There is no Tea.... ? Front Desk and Theripist was Excellent but i may schedule elsewhere due to no Tea.
Great massage and nice people.
Joy, Silver and Heather are phenomenal massage therapists. Love coming here!
Terrible! Dont recommend. Service is awful and they dont honor their contracts.
Great customer service and facility
Unprofessional and rude all around.
Front desk terribleNo friendly...
