Woodhouse Spa - Montclair

First time trying out the Woodspa-Montclair and had a good experience. Inside was clean and comfortable with spacious bathroom/changing rooms and even a full shower. They also had a quiet room where you can have tea and a few little snacks as well as spend some time there after your massage.We had a couples massage - husband had Julia and I had Shanyce. The experience was nice and relaxing and I liked that it was front first and then back. Shanyce was very professional, paid attention to areas of concerns and communicates instructions well. Husband and I agreed we both had a good experience but that next time we will most likely request for more pressure especially me for my “trouble areas”.Checking in and out was seamless too and I appreciate they have homecare and treatment recommendations writte

I really wanted to like this place because the location is convenient. I’ve tried it 3 times now and my conclusion is that I need to try out other spas in the area. The ambiance is nice and people at the desk are pleasant. They are responsive if you say something. The main issue is that the quality of service is so inconsistent that it’s frustrating. It’s not cheap either so if you get a bad experience, it’s literally just throwing money away. I want a spa experience so that I can relieve stress. Not play the lottery on what kind of service I’m getting.The first time I went for a prenatal massage, I was literally oiled for 50 minutes. I asked for more pressure and…nothing. Just more oiling for $150 of service. I could have done that myself and I would have saved money. I mentioned this at the front desk and they gave me 20% off the next visit with someone they said had a firmer touch. I booked an 80 minute service for $190 and it was much better than the first. It was actually relaxing. Is 20% off this service really enough to compensate my first bad experience? Still mulling over that one.The next problem is then I also got a pedicure with their 50% off promotion. The nail polish application was subpar. There is polish on my skin and some sides of my nails are missing polish. The “massage” was also just heavy oiling. Is that worth the discounted $45 (from the original $90)? They don’t give you a receipt when you check out either. They asked me how much I should tip and I said 25% (thinking it’s 25% from the discounted $45)…nope. They ran it for 25% off $90. I didn’t even realize this until I got the receipt by email some time after I left the place. They did provide a refund for the difference when I emailed back and I should have confirmed when I was checking out.Net net, I don’t mind paying the price they are charging if the quality of service is consistent. But paying for the bad service (and wasting time) and averaging the cost with the good service is just not worth it for me.

Awesome and dedicated service. My masseuse, Linda is skilled and attentive. I can tell she knows what she’s doing; she works so effortlessly! Looking forward to seeing her again soon. I loved the cinnamon tea, it’s a great addition to the experience. Woodhouse Spa, Montclair is my choice!

Nancy is wonderful. My facial was fabulous. So relaxing and my skin looks so much better. I will come back in 4 weeks for another rejuvenation.

Great facial experience from start to end. I have been there many times for facials and massages. I have gone solo or in big groups, which include my 101 year old glam grandma for a facial and they are so gentle and accommodating.

This spa is like stepping into a peaceful paradise! Everyone there was super friendly and made me feel really welcome. The atmosphere is so calm, and the people who work there are really good at what they do. I treated myself to a massage and facial, and they both made me feel amazing afterward. They really pay attention to making everything perfect just for you, which makes it extra special. I left feeling so relaxed and happy, and Im already thinking about going back.

First time client and all I can say is Wow! My boyfriend and I went for his birthday and was greeted by great receptionists. The massages were on point. Michelle was awesome. Definitely recommend her if your going for a deep tissue massage. Pedicure was relaxing. Already booked my next appointment.

Lidet is amazing it was one of the best massage I had. I definitely recommend her. Beware though i had a gift card for a massage . I booked on the phone and wasn’t told the massage price goes up on the weekend. Truly disappointing

I have had many facials with Gosha at Woodhouse Spa. Gosha is wonderful and it is a very relaxing experience. She is knowledgeable about what can help my skin. Her suggestions really work. Also the whole experience at Woodhouse is lovely ft beginning to end.

Bought my wife a gift certificate for Mothers Day. The place is expensive but that’s how it is. She got a facial and massage and ended up having a rash for 10 days afterward all on her neck and lower face. Had to go to the doctor for diagnosis and treatment.So the high sticker price, the rash!, and that the person seemed to focus more on selling products means this gets a low rating.

Julia was great! I went for reflexology and an upper back massage. I left very relaxed. Darlene was very helpful and welcoming when I entered, and offered great customer service when I left.

I received a massage gift certificate from here as a graduation gift. The best present thus far. I am no stranger to massages and after the last foolishness I had to experience at another location I won’t name but if you read my reviews you will surely know where I am taking about, it was refreshing to come here. The statement “You get what you pay for” really applies. First, there is parking in a lot across the street that you can park at and it will be validated. That was comforting because I was worried about the meters on the street. When you walk into the building it smells amazing. Then you are politely greeted by ladies at the front desk. From there I was taken to what they call the quiet room. My masseuse Stephen came introduced himself and took me to a nice clean quiet room. To end all I can say is THE ABSOLUTE BEST 80 MINUTES. Seems like Stephen was in my head when he hit places that needed to be deeper and/or more attention. After the first 10-15 minutes and 1 pressure question I did not have to say another word. He knew exactly where all the knots and tight spots were. It felt so good I fell asleep a few times and was snoring. Finishing up there we’re some good recommendations and suggestions. I love this location and Plan to return.

I had a facial with Gina. She did a wonderful job. Before she did anything she made sure to explain what she would be doing and what products shed be using. She was so gentle I almost fell asleep.

I received a generous gift certificate from a friend and was excited to try the spa. The treatment itself was fine. However, when I went to pay with the gift certificate, I was told that they needed photo id from the purchaser before I could use the certificate. The manager kept saying its policy. Why they didnt do this before issuing the gift certificate is a mystery.I was able to reach my friend who would not provide photo id to them for security reasons. So, I paid for the treatment myself. Keep in mind, they accepted payment from my friend and never explained their requirements for photo ID. Buyer Beware! I will never go back there.

I have had many very good experiences here in the past. However, at this time, unfortunatly, you can get a WAY better massage at massage envy for half the price. Also, you can get better nail services ANYWHERE. As a working single mother, it took me a long time to save enough money to come here. So disappointed.

My experience with Woodhouse was just what I needed! The service was fabulous, my pedicure was amazing!!! I highly recommend! Booked a return visit immediately!

1. They add $10 for each service if you book on a weekend. Does not mention this on their mobile site. Spoke to manager and she kept telling me on computer website it shows the up charge. I said ok, where on the mobile site does it show this and she said “I’m not looking there.” Ok- convenient, don’t look at the mobile site where 90% of your customers book from.2. My deep tissue massage was not deep tissue. I mentioned this at checkout and was told nothing could be done. Even a chain massage envy would try to accommodate better than this!3. Manager spoke to me after I called to complain and could have cared less. After reading the way the manager responds to the other yelp reviews I see what the issue here is. Zero accountability from management. This person should not be in the customer service business.4. While in their quiet room there were other patrons complaining about their services. One woman mentioned they told the massage therapist not to touch her hair and that was not followed.5. They never sent me an intake form to fill out.I will not be returning and you shouldnt either!!

So disappointed in this experience. I came here in 2019 for a deep tissue massage and it was incredible and luxurious: I got a fluffy robe, a locker, shower access, chilled in a lounge with tea before my massage, the whole thing. It was well worth the $200+ and the massage was incredible. Fast forward to 2021, I booked the same exact service and I am SO disappointed. No more robe/lounge/shower experience, but everything is still the same price. Next, my massage was in a former shower and it was very bizarre. Second, my massage therapist didnt get the memo that it was supposed to be a deep tissue massage and despite me asking for more pressure multiple times, I could barely feel a thing for 80 minutes. Super disappointed to have spent well over $200 on what was just a fraction of the great experience I had here two years ago.

One of my favorite Spas! I love the ambiance and variety of services. At my most recent visit My esthetician was very kind and knowledgeable. Ill be back for a follow up treatment for sure.

Gosia is a fantastically talented and knowledgeable aesthetician and treated me to a lovely and nourishing facial with a gentle, plant-based peel. Also, the front desk crew were very kind and responsive and accommodated my last minute/ on site request for a manicure... which lasted perfectly unchipped for >3 weeks! My skin and entire being glowed when I stepped out of the spa.

I used Linda for a 50 minute deep tissue transformation and she was wonderful .i would recommend this provider and this service

Therapists asked the perfect amount of questions so I could get the treatment I needed , but I was able to fully enjoy the relaxation, quiet and tranquility during my services. Tha ambience at the Woodhouse Spa was just right! I booked a four hand massage and it was heavenly. The massage therapists worked in unison from head to toe and I was beyond relaxed. Gosias hydrafacials will transform your skin! Ive been coming to her pretty regularly for a few months now and have seen a huge improvement. You also get a bonus upper neck back chest and arm massage! Highly recommend

We enjoyed a lovely couples massage here and were accommodated at short notice at an even more unusual time (Monday 9 AM would have been hard to find elsewhere)! The team (all masked) made it feel amazing and one could easily forget it was early on a Monday. We appreciated the calm atmosphere and quiet room with tea before and after the treatment which made all the difference. I remember coming here a few years ago and even receiving a warm neck pillow for my stay in the quiet room then but Covid may have put a halt to that practice. Worth the price.

My fiancée and I spent a few hours here. I had a deep tissue massage and a pedicure. My massage therapist was outstanding, she was really able to focus in on what was tight and help with my pain/stress areas. The overall experience was amazing!

Had a good experience. I had a massage and a body treatment done as well as waxing. The technicians were very professional. However, please arrive for your appointment on time as if you dont, they will rush you.

Vanessa is the best kept 🤫 secret in town. I don’t want to share her but she deserves a 5 star review! If you don’t want a typical rushed manicure/pedicure with a treatment rather than polish (to rehab your nails) look no further! Or, go for polish but she’s helped me rehab my nails back to health ❤️

I did a 80 min Massage with Shanyce and It was the absolute BEST massage I ever had! I struggle with swollen achy feet and back pain. I left feeling relieved and satisfied! I cant wait to go back. Her hands are Heavenly!!Darielle did such an amazing job with my facial! My skin was glowing and felt so good!Both ladies I would highly recommend!

I love going to this spa. Its convenient and the staff there are very professional and knowledgeable. I have had a few massages and facials, mani/pedi and have been getting more facials now. The person I usually see for my facials, is Gina. She is amazing and her hands are so soft, they feel like butter. Shes careful yet precise in her movements and care for your face. Considerate and very soft spoken. The place is always so clean, smells great and organized. The one thing I found is that when you are in a room for your service, the music/spa sounds tend to sound a lil loud while youre lying there. Other than that, 100% recommend!

The place and the people are really nice but careless. The massages were not good at all, I reserved a couples massage for my husbands birthday, my husband was supposed to have a deep tissue massage and the lady didnt have the strength to do it, he didnt feel a thing, mine was okay But the employee i Had did not complete the whole massage, completely missing Major parts of my body throughout the whole session. I would not reccomend and it is def not worth the money!If you go back and check again , I did reserve a deep tissue massage for my husband and was charged for it, and all the staff members that took care of us were aware, so it wasn’t lack of communication from my part!

Had a wonderful facial with Gosia. We went over my skincare regimen and where I can make minor changes and she was very considerate and gracious. An overall really relaxing experience and what I was hoping for on a cloudy day.

I have never been so disappointed in a facial. I used to get facials every few months, but havent been able to for the last year thanks to everything going on in the world. Was very excited to get back and more then willing to pay the ridiculous fees they charge. However, from the time I got there things werent right.1. Relax room was serving Hot Cinnamon spice tea, on a 90 degree day, no thanks. Plus the chairs were so uncomfortable and stiff.2. Every time I get a facial you take off your shirt and are given a towel to wrap around your top. I was left with my top on, which also meant no neck/shoulder work. She did a minor massage on arms 3 times. However, left so much cream on them had to go to bathroom to wash off.3. When checking out was given product selections for items I told them I would like to work on, no feed back from esthetician. Then was asked how much I like to to tip. When I said I like to leave cash, I had to hand it over and they put in on the receipt. I have never had that anywhere for any type of service before. Felt very uncomfortable.4. Lastly, regretted the tip I left as 30 minutes after my facial I went to wipe some excess lotion from my face, along hair line where had some stuff stuck in hair. Now I get they leave lotion on, why it didnt wash off face when I did my arms, even though was very heavily put on. The second I took the towel to my skin it started to peel. At this point I knew I had to clean my face, she left a mask on!!! I had lumps of this stuff coming off my face and neck rolling down my neckline and cloths. It was disgusting.  Please save your money. So many better place for a lot less!!!

I have been coming to The Woodhouse Day Spa in Montclair for a few years and absolutely love them! They are always so warm, friendly and accommodating. The services are wonderful and I always get compliments on my skin after a facial! I highly recommend spending a lovely day here!

I loved my therapist Nisrim, super nice. But to be honest, the price for Microdermabrasion was very expensive. I had few times before. Never this much. Although nice spa and lovely place. 280$ for microdermabrasion!!do’t know. Lol my feeling.Also changed my facial last minute, so i should have asked the price. Its more than city price.

I had the Illuminate facial with Taylor - it was amazing. My concerns going in were about the texture and dryness of my skin. Taylor was very knowledgeable and made recommendations to get the results I wanted. Her facial was relaxing and left my complexion looking and feeling great. Highly recommend!

Really great experience. Pricy but worth it. Sure they create a luxurious environment but it wouldnt be worth anything if the massage itself wasnt amazing.

My husband booked appointments for a friend and I as a surprise almost 2 months ahead of time. He was called by the spa on 3 different occasions- 2 weeks, then 1 week before hand- first to change the time, then to change the service, then to change the time again.( Had I known this I would have cancelled). He complained and was offered 50% off of one of the services.When we arrived, I asked what service we were receiving - since the original was a body scrub and he told me he thought we were now getting facials- and I was told the regular one. When I went out and asked again, I was told the classic facial. There is no classic facial on the menu. On the third question, I was told (with an attitude), it was the deep cleansing facial but we could change it if we wanted. I was taken to a room that was freezing (the tech noted the temp, I had not even said anything yet) - the tech apologized and left to bring in a portable heater and a blanket (there was only a sheet). Because the tech was not aware of what facial I wanted, she had to set it up once we spoke. This was all during the 50 minutes of my treatment service.The service itself was enjoyable, the tech was very nice. I cannot say the same for the desk/ mgmt staff. The atmosphere and service could have been more enjoyable had it not been for how the staff treat the clients. Especially for what they are charging. Will not be returning.

This was my first facial experience at the Hoboken location in a very long time. I used to get facials somewhat regularly while working at a spa, but have neglected my skin for the last 10 years. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards and loved everything she did to my skin. Will definitely be coming back for more!

I had a few services done as part of a spa package, which themselves were mostly great. Pedicure and facial were the highlights. Both well executed with great products!Unfortunately, my spa experience as a whole seemed disorganized and lacked attention to detail, especially for the price. To start, I was never offered a robe when I arrived, nor was I told how to use the lockers. I filled out an intake form online, and for some reason they needed me to fill out another one by hand upon arrival. In other spas Ive been to, the quiet/relaxation rooms had more comfortable lounging furniture and dimmer lighting and even tea available to enhance the relaxation experience.After I spent 10-15 minutes filling out my 2nd intake form, without being offered a clipboard, it seemed like a waste as the service providers didnt even review it. The transition between services didnt seem uniform and the order of the services in the package I got didnt make sense- to go directly from pedicure to massage was an easy way to mess up the pedicure.Lastly, the person who provided the massage completely forgot about one of my arms and didnt listen to my instructions about a sprained ankle injury, which I both wrote in the intake form and told them out loud. The masseuse also ignored the preferences for pressure that I specified on the two intake forms I filled out ahead of time.I think perhaps getting only one service per visit would be recommended here, which should be a facial.

The place is nice, staff at the entry were welcoming. I booked a facial and a message, the 2 that did my facial and message lacked personality and service was nothing more than what I got at Message Envy for less charge! I also was charged extra for some enhansment service in the facial session that I didnt request nor schedule! Parking is horrible! It was my first time trying them and my last time-as I am not impressed at all!

Chris was great, a really thorough massage therapist, who definitely listened. The massage was ridiculously expensive, for the length of time, and type. It was far more expensive than I originally anticipated. I would definitely suggest getting all pricing information upfront, before booking.

My experience with Gine was excellent! She asked what I was looking for in a facial and also about my skin type. She was careful and mindful of breakout areas but also after my face felt smoother and refreshed. I will certainly go back to her again in 6-8 weeks!!!

This place is a literal joke. I spent 80 dollars on a gel manicure. I walked out with the worst manicure of my life, they offered me free samples so i said fine and left and was prepared to take the loss. The next day my nails start chipping and peeling off. The most the manager could offer me was 16 dollars back FROM MY 8O DOLLAR MANICURE. I felt like I was just lied to. its 80 DOLLARS for a manicure, you would think a gel manicure at that price would last longer than a day. the manager would give nothing but say come back so we can fix it? why would i come back there when i felt lied to by the services you offer, you clearly CAN NOT GIVE luxury spa manicures, so why let your customers think you can? and have them pay 80 DOLLARS. All they care about is a profit, not their customers. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. ITS NOT A SPA, ITS A SCAM. And whatever lie they reply with to this review, dont believe it :) youre welcome.

Matt gave an amazing deep tissue massage. Rarely do I find someone that understands the neck pain & addresses it properly. I walked out without a headache!

My daughters and I celebrated a birthday and treated ourselves to the 50 minute spa pedicure. The pedicure itself was fine but it absolutely was not a 50 minute service. We arrived 15 minutes early and we’re directed to the quiet room, our appointment was at noon. We were met by technicians at 12:05, brought to pedicure room to pick out polish and hang coats. All of our pedicures were completed by 12:45 if not a bit sooner. We were then directed to the quiet room to let our nails dry. As to not ruin the vibe of celebrating, I waited until the next day to reach out and express my disappointment. The response was insulting, dismissive and unprofessional. The four of us will not return to this spa.

I had a wonderful experience at WDS! The Quiet Room was a lovely way to begin (with tea and snacks, too) and then I had a great 50 minute body balance massage. Can’t wait to go back again!

Woodhouse Spa in Montclair,NJ has been my go-to place for years! Always had a pleasant experience with mani-pedis, massages and facials and of course the cleanliness of the place. One thing I keep forgetting to ask them though is where do they get the tea thats in their quiet room.

I’ve been here a few times and it’s always a wonderful experience! It’s a very soothing environment so you’re relaxed before your treatment even starts. Highly recommend the hot stone massage!

Had the SIGNATURE: HOLISTIC MINKYTI facial and it was absolutely amazing. 100% what I needed to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Nisrine was very knowledgeable and took very good care of me. Will try the microdermabrasion facial next time to take care of my scars.

Ive been here three times and its generally good. However for my last visit the session, which is supposed to be 50 minutes, only lasted 35. The session started at 10 after the hour and ended at 45 mins after. I made note of the start time because of the late start so I was disappointed when it ended five minutes before the scheduled end. When I said something gently to the front desk they said theyd make a note of it but thats it which I was a little disappointed in response. I didnt demand a partial refund but I felt like I was owed one. Also due to COVID protocols, even though its November 2022 day, the Spa didnt offer me a chance to change into a robe or shower robe so I ended up having to put my clothes back on while covered massage cream which I dont find, especially pleasant. Anyway, not sure if Ill be going back.The spa responded to my review and basically said Im mistaken about the timing. Im not, but no matter, you can see their attitude towards customers on full display. They dont care. Judge for yourself if this is somewhere that deserves your time and money.

On my first visit to this location, Adrianne offered me an organic discovery facial. It was fantastic. The people at the front desk were competent and kind. There is some massaging involved. My skin felt and looked better than it did when I first walked in.

I have gone here, twice so far, soon to be my third time. The first time it was a gift to myself and the next time it was a gift from a family member giving me a gift card. Both times I enjoyed the services received, which were Hot Stone body massages and once I also got a facial. The spa is VERY clean, the staff was friendly and the location is not that far from where I live. I also like how they allow clients to use the robes and slippers if need be (however I brought, my own). I would recommend the Woodhouse spa to others as I have had a good experience, their prices are not outrageous but are competitive. Piece of advice I would give, if planning to go during a holiday such as Mothers Day or Fathers day I would make a reservation in advance as to get time and date preferred as I can imagine they get busy.

Came here for a couples massage in August for my bday! Was not disappointed at all! God I wish I can remember my therapists name!!! I asked for deep tissue and she was perfect! Pressure was consistent! The staff was nice! Facility was clean and atmosphere was calm and relaxing! Love this place! Will be back soon!

Took a long time reading the description to choose a facial and massage that best fit me. Finally, found two that was exactly what I needed. Got there very mannerly and nice atmosphere, both technicians was nice as well. On the phone I requested my massage done 1st, instead they schedule my facial 1st. Now with my facial, the tech never told me what she was doing or what products she was using, at one point the microdermabrasion machine stopped working and she had to switch it out, in the end my there was no difference in my face. Then it was my massage, it was suppose to be deep since it was my back only and as the description said, but instead I got a rub down, I had to ask for her to go a little harder, she didnt listen only a minute here and there, also she never asked how was the pressure! At the end I went to the receptionist and told her experience and it seems like she didnt want to hear it, she also said she would call me the next day to see how face was doing and she never did that either. For the price I had to pay for both treatments, I really feel they should have done alot better! Very disappointed customer.

My experience at The Woodhouse day spa today was amazing. As soon as my sister and i entered the door two ladies greeted us immediately. They were very polite and warm. The space is beautifully decorated and you are offered tea, water, and snacks. My sister and I had a duet massage session and it was exactly what I wanted. My massage therapist Jacqueline was also amazing. She instantly made me feel comfortable. When return I will definetly request her as my therapist. This was a great experience for me

I booked two weeks in advance for my daughters 13th birthday. The day before, they called to confirm and to tell me she would be paired with a male masseuse. When I booked I spoke to Emily and I specifically said i wanted only female masseuses because it was her first experience at a spa, she’s 13 for goodness sake and didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable and me being her mother I felt it was holy inappropriate. Well they didn’t listen! They did not try at all to accommodate me at all and pretty much pushed me to cancel my appointment, in which I did and took my money elsewhere. Thanks to them my daughter’s birthday was ruined. She was really excited to go but unfortunately it never happened.

I had a prenatal massage yesterday. I’m 8 months pregnant. They do not have a true prenatal table. The table simply dips in the center so your head and feet are elevated. The table was also heated which is a big no no for pregnant women. I had to turn on my side which was so uncomfortable as she massaged my back. I’ve gotten plenty of prenatal massages and usually there is an opening in the center of the table to allow pregnant moms the luxury of laying face down and truly enjoying a massage. My masseuse was okay but not great. My body actually hurts after the massage. The place was beautifully decorated but I wouldn’t come here again. They definitely don’t know what or how to give a prenatal massage. It’s also overpriced because of the location. I’ve gotten a better massage at the chiropractor.

Spa is well designed, gorgeous inside. Service is extremely poor and random item sales are pushed at the end without any prior consultation. Personally never coming back, would not recommend.

The massages are excellent, and they are doing a good job dealing with COVID safety. The rooms feel clean. While now you are whisked in and out quicker, it feels like the safest way for now. Deep tissue with Julie and Lidet have been well needed stress relief during COVID.

This spa has gone completely downhill! I booked a massage for my husband for his birthday and it was a horrible experience from start to finish. The front desk was clueless, the massage itself was awful and when we spoke to the manager she couldn’t care less. We will not be going back!

Gina is an excellent aesthetician. She goes about her work with attention to detail and with a calm and reassuring manner. Most importantly, the results in the mirror are always top notch.

I went to various spas, and was so thankful to find Shanyce at the Woodhouse Spa. She is extremely professional and attentive to anything that’s going on with me; often referring back to things previously discussed. Strongly suggest booking a massage with Shanyce!

I got a facial for my boyfriend for his birthday and thought it would be nice to follow it with pedicures. I cant believe this place gets away with charging $60 for what we received. We were expecting an excellent pedicure and maybe even foot/leg massage for that price. The pedicure was very lackluster and paint job sub par. Do yourself a favor and go to your local strip mall where you can get a great pedicure with extras for half the cost.

Terrific experience in a clean and relaxing environment.Had the hydrating facial and it was excellent. I walked out with glowing skin. Will be returning on a regular basis!

I have been to MANY spas, and today my boyfriend and I went for a couples massage, facial and pedicure at the Woodhouse Day Spa.....and from the moment we walked in, until we walked out the door...the entire staff was professional, friendly, and the place is extremelyyy relaxing! Our massages and facials were fantastic and not your average spa treatments. We cant wait to go back! What a great place.

Regardless of what it says on their website, this facility apparently has no protocols for COVID-19. My esthetician was not vaccinated, and she said there are no health checks for employees. (There are also no temperature checks, etc, at the door, nor questions about a clients current health as has become standard at similar businesses.) Upon laying down on the table for my facial, I told the esthetician, for her comfort, that I had been vaccinated. When she did not respond, I asked if she had--she had not. In such an intimate setting, a client should have the choice about whether to work with someone who is unvaccinated. I dressed and left immediately. The front desk person didnt seem to care whether I stayed or left...be aware before entering.

My experience was not worth $310.00! The same person that did my facial did my pedicure. The facial was basically a steam towel and cleanser and massage with face cream. Nothing more. Then the fire alarm sounds for about 20 minutes. How can anybody get a massage with a fire alarm going off and I was told if the tenants that live upstairs use the blow dryer its sets off the alarm. NEVER AGAIN

I went there last week and when I went to checkout I noticed money was missing. I had just gone to the bank so I knew exactly what I had. My husband picked me up an assured me I wasn’t crazy but that he believes I was robbed. I called and talked to a manager who could care less and told me maybe the owner will call me but to go file a police report. No apology or anything. I posted on Facebook and received a call from another woman this happened to. I went the next day to return my stuff and got a basic kind of oh well. After I said something I got a call from the manager again who I must say needs training in customer care. She only apologized after I said I never even got an apology. You not only get ripped of figuratively here you also get ripped off literally also.

Gosia was very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions on how to maintain skin. Relaxing and enjoyable experience and look forward to my next visit.

My wife and I went for a couples massage and facial today . It went from a relaxing day to a total nightmare. They some how over booked or misunderstood what getting a couples massage is or at least that was the receptionist answer. So we ended up having to get separate massages . My wife was totally upset as this was the last time we were going out before my son is born. She tried speaking to the receptionist who she told me was very rude to her and instead of trying to fix the problem was more interested in debating the issue. I now have to deal with my wife being upset this has seriously ruined my weekend . I wanted to respond to us leaving a good tip and without complaining. I dont think it would be fair for us to not tip the people who didnt have anything to do with what happened. As far as not complaining I went for a day of relaxation, not a day of headaches.

Great massage and experience!

I had a facial there on my bday. The aesthetician was pretty good and I saw how hard she worked during the 80 minute facial, really appreciated it and this poor review should not be aimed at her for the most part - as a side note. After the 80 min facial and even during it, I felt my hair was getting a TON of the product in it the woman was using, oils, masks etc, though I had the headband on... When I went to the lockers I saw that my hair was covered heavily with oils and products the woman used, and it looked and felt just gross. I would then have to go home just to scrub it all out, which wasnt the plan on my bday. This put a dark cloud on the experience. Then in the locker room when I was getting ready to go at the vanity a woman dialed someone on her cell phone (not ok period to use phones in locker areas) and on SPEAKER phone talked with someone about their lunch plans. That is in no way ok, there should be a rule and signs that say no phone (nor speaker phone!) use in private, relaxing areas of a spa. When I went to check out, in a bit of shock from those events the woman who checked me out after I showed her my hair, gave me a worn out paper coupon that said $20 off your next service (when you spend $100 or more) to make up for what happened. It was like getting a DSW coupon in the mail, it meant absolutely nothing, felt generic and obviously my issue wasnt important to them, and was super insulting that that is all she thought was needed... After asking if I wanted to buy $200 dollars in products the aesthetician had recommended I was so very much done there.Follow up, a manager wrote me back a day or 2 later, after I emailed them about these issues and said the $20 coupon off $100 or more in services was what she thought was fair...I would avoid their spa at all costs and go support a local spa owed by people from the area, who really care, not a dated franchise that has gone way down hill and leaves much to be desired.

The swedish massage was just excellent. Would definitely go back. Staff was very professional, facility was clean, robes were comfy, and the setting was very relaxing, I wanted to take a nap after my massage!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE - The Woodhouse Spa is not worth the time or the money.The facility is OK, but nothing to boast about (the locker room is so small the changing room is also the toilet, and there is a DVD advertisement playing on an 8 travel screen in the relaxation room). My experience. however, was appalling, and needs to be shared.My mom and I decided to try out The Woodhouse Spa in Montclair, because we wanted a day of pampering, and even though we love Depasquale in Morris Plains, we are from Montclair, and try to support local businesses. I scheduled a deep tissue massage for myself, and when the masseur asked if there was anywhere specific she should concentrate on, I said upper back and shoulders, because that is the area I needed a massage most. She was very rough on my entire body, but I kept my mouth shut, because I wanted that same pressure applied to my back and shoulders. Big mistake. I guess she was tired when she finally got around to my back and shoulders, because she barely applied any pressure, and seemed to love lifting her hands up before working out any knots. She also spent the least amount of time on by back and shoulders, which is the exact opposite of what I told her.A treatment at Woodhouse does not come cheap, so I when the girl at the desk asked how my experience was, I told her exactly what happened. She seemed very understanding and apologetic, and wanted me to give the spa another chance. She invited me back for another massage with a different person, and also a paraffin treatment. Because she was offering this complimentary service, I agreed to give the spa another chance.My appointment was supposed to be tonight, and I got 2 calls from the spa, the first to confirm I was still coming, and the second from the girl who was so apologetic, to tell me the price of my treatment, and remind me about the complimentary paraffin. Excuse me??? The whole thing was supposed to be complimentary. I never would have agreed to give them a second chance at my own expense. The girl said there must have been a misunderstanding, but my mom was standing right next to me when I was asked to give the spa another chance, and she too had the same understanding, that I was being offered a free massage.Now, I have been to a number of spas in my life, and never have they called to confirm the price of a treatment, so I maybe this girl got in trouble with her boss for offering the free experience, and was calling to try and save her own behind, but that does not make up for this disservice, and that is why I have decided to share my terrible experience on social media.If you are looking for a day of quality pampering, I recommend Depasquale the Spa.

If i could give it NO STARS I WOULD. I called to schedule a couple appt with my spouse who is an amputee and I was told that the masseuse did not feel comfortable massaging him but would do it anyway. I was very much offended and told them I would definitely take my business elsewhere.

What a complete waste of money! My wife went for a pre natal massage and she came back feeling like she paid $112 for someone to apply oil to her body. There was no consideration given to the requests she had made during her service. The only saving grace was the 20% discount they applied for this horrible experience. Pick a different spa - there are plenty in the neighborhood.

I love the mani/pedi experience at Woodhouse Day Spa. Have also enjoyed a great massage, reflexology, and the occasional facial. The staff is extremely professional, warm, and welcoming--they will also validate parking for the downtown Montclair Deck so you dont have to worry about parking.

Having been to quite a few spas around the world, this experience stood out as wonderful. Its the little touches and things they do that make you wonder why no one else had thought of that before. I was spontaneously looking for a treat to myself and that is exactly what I got. I was very well looked after and shall return. Thank you to the wonderful staff!
