NEW 2000 NAILS Nail Salon in Montclair NJ

Disappointed. I have been coming here for years on & off whenever I was back home. I always get UV gel and suddenly now every manicure the UV gel itself lifts & comes off the entire nail in LESS THAN A WEEK. I am a new mom and I don’t have time to just waste & the money either for this to be occurring, they fix it and again it happens. I just went to get one fixed and another came off. I wanted to give many chances since it’s such a long time place for me but I can’t anymore I gave numerous chances. Also, prices are always different from $70-100 with NO DESIGN. The most I’ve ever done is a French line. Last I went before these lifting nails I had 4 missing & they said oh they came off I said yes it didn’t last & you can see it wasn’t that I jammed it against something being my fault, they legit glided off my nails., but it was noted as my fault so they charged me $90 for my UV gel manicure with no design too. I’m sorry I hope they do better, those close to me have experienced the same.

Horrible and I chose this place based on reviews. “The master” cut my cuticle to blood on two fingers!! It is scary and unprofessional. Not to mention painful. Also, the form that she filed my nails looked like a shovel, I had to file it myself at home to make it look decent. It was my first time there I just had an urgency to get my nails done. Would not recommend and not coming back.

I have been coming to this place on and off for years. Very disappointed with my experience today. Not sure if my person knew how to do nails like she toes feet. Messed up on two of my nails and fix it. However, the owner came over kinda put her on the spot about it. My person forgot to bring my personal belongings to me as I was under the dryers. ●Not all black people look alike.● So than the owner comes to me for payment. Which I already took care of and I saw the discount card. Ask if I can have one, I told her I never received one. She gave me one I told her this is my second visit she marked the card for me and walked away. I left out angry with no tip given.

First time hear called 5mins ahead and I was accepted.Got a gel pedicure, manicure and a 60min foot massage which felt so good.I like the service and the ambience. I will be visiting again soon.

Everybody was friendly and nice! I really liked how Woni was very gentle on my nails and it turned out to look exactly as I wanted.I have my regular go to salon but it is closed on Sundays, so I really appreciate this place was open and after this positive experience I anticipate going there more often.

This be my very first time here. It was a nice experience for making the appointment with Joy to come in getting a pedicure by Vanessa. She really got them ingrown out.Lol To getting my nails done by Young I should what I wanted and she did it, but the best was A shoulder massage By Evelyn while I was getting my nails done, it was so relaxing Area in need of a nice but very clean salon. This is definitely the spot to come. Thank you ladies for the experience.

I was recommended to go to this salon and as soon as I got in I was taken to a chair for my manicure. I showed Solee the type of nails I wanted and how long I needed them. She was fast, nice and very courteous. someone else also did my feet and pedicure. Only reason why I gave this review 4 stars is the nail thumb on my right hand chipped literally the day after so I’m disappointed and the same nail also has some black specks as well. The technician could’ve been a little more careful with the application.

If I could give this nail salon LESS than one star, I would. The service was okay but, the work from the nail tech, May, was horrendous.I first asked the woman at the front desk, “do any of your manicurists know how to do intricate designs? In other words, are they nail designers?”, she said yes. I also said that I wanted Apres Gel-X which last about 3-5 weeks. I showed May the design I wanted (I’ll attach) and she said yes, she can do it. Low and behold, she couldn’t so I compromised and allowed her to turn it into a simple chrome design which was mediocre at best. I’ve had chrome nails that were so pristine, it looked like a mirror! So these were meh but, I let it be.I got these nails done for my birthday. I got my nails done on Feb 2nd, my birthday was Feb 4th and I went to Mexico on Feb 7th. But Feb 9th, EVERY SINGLE NAIL was lifting off and getting hooked onto my clothes and hair; all 10 fingers. By Feb 10th, one nail popped off while on vacation. Before you say “oh you were in the water on the beach”, 1) freshly done nails should last on beach vacations and 2) I didn’t step foot in the water until Feb 11th.I went back to the nail salon on Feb 14th after I landed back from Mexico on Feb 12th to show them and ask for a refund. They refused to give me a refund after the proof I showed and explained how it messed up my mood for my birthday vacation.They did eventually agreed that it was their fault and offered to remove my nails for free and give me a new set. However, why would I entrust them to put on another full set when the first set was actually GARBAGE?I politely let them remove the HORRID set and left with my bare nails. I will not trust them to do my nails and ever again, even the simplest manicure.The part that TRULY upsets me to write this review is that that I asked for extensions and they couldn’t even secure them properly. If the designs were crappy, that would be one thing but, the actually functionality of the nails were HORRIBLE and falling off after in less than a week. That’s POOR nail tech work. That’s why I think I deserved a refund.So, instead of them giving me a refund since I paid $100+, here is NEGATIVE 5 (-5) star review 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾(What I got vs. what I wanted)

I’ve been getting my nails done since I was 14. 14+ years and never in my life of having my nails done have I had such a horrendous experience. The atmosphere and ambience is pleasant nevertheless not the service. I went there to celebrate a birthday and what I got was a bill of regret all around. The individual assign to do my nails didn’t speak English nor did she try to understand what I was telling her rather dismiss my attempt to explain to her that I wasn’t satisfied with what she was doing to my nails and then they had the nerve to charge me $60 for a regular manicure and pedicure with clear nail polish. My nails were filed in such a manner that when they grow back they’ll practically be growing into my skin. I had to basically do my own nails over when I got home. This establishment was a disappointment. Definitely not worth the price I end up paying. That price being my time that I can never get back, the damage done to my cuticles & my nails that I will have to deal with when they grow back in addition the hard earned money that one just does not come by walking down the street. Never again nor would I refer this location. I’m troubled by the fact that it seems like I’m the only person who has a bad review for this establishment.

My first time coming here because my regular tech was booked, the owner greeted me with a hug and applied a hot towel around my neck. The nail tech was professional. This business has a parking lot and it’s very nice inside.However, she charged me $120 for very short and simple nails. The first tech couldn’t do it right so another tech fixed it. If you give a review, the owner discounts $10. She didn’t want to give me a discount she said, “next time”. I said, I’m not coming here next time. My regular nail tech was booked. So, she took $10 off.

I’ve been having my nails done with gel application going on 20 years now, on and off to allow the nails to grow healthy, and I’ve been going to this nail salon for about 3 years, I’ve had 3 different nail technicians, all wonderful, but lately I’ve been seeing Jane and she’s amazing! Probably the best application and technique I’ve ever had, and she’s fast which is always appreciated. Just had these done today and I simply love it!

This has been the most professional and well executed manicure I have had in a very long time. I loved how kind the staff were and how they catered to my nails so gently. This is my third time here and I will definitely be back!

Im visiting from California and needed a refresh on my nails. I stopped in to get a new set.I was able to sit right down with no wait for a full gell set - I sat with Jane and I love how attentive she was - super meticulous about the exact shape and style that I wanted AND made sure that each nail matched perfectly in length and shape!Jane is amazing! I am so happy with my nails and will definitely be back during my next visit to town!

I’ve been going here for a few months because my sister goes here and she likes it, and it’s been OKAY. However, on the last two occasions I’ve been here, I was told to go to Michelle, whose service I didn’t really like. Exhibit A - she wasn’t very friendly about changing the length of my nails the first time I went to her and since then I did not want to go to her but figured I can still go to this nail salon because everyone else was nice. Then today I happened to go here with my sister and Joy told me only Michelle and May were available to do my nails. I told her I don’t want Michelle; I want someone else to do my nails, but my sister was going to go to May and I didn’t want to wait so I just went to Michelle. Exhibit B - Michelle made smart remarks and I said something to her about it. Then when it was time to pay, I told Joy I’d like to tip the woman who did my feet but not Michelle. Joy basically said the employees need compensation and made it seem like it was required to tip. Last time I checked, a tip was optional and I do usually tip IF the service is good. But yeah I didn’t like that, won’t go back honestly.

When a pair a press on nails didn’t pan out to Yelp I went in search of a nail salon to supply a fresh set. Finding New 2000 Nails page full of well manicured hands and beautifully designed nails, I took a chance and I’m so glad I did. The shop opened promptly at 9:30 which accommodated busy schedule that day. Solee reviewed the differences and pros of Gel X and UV Gel when I inquired and provided up front pricing. The team was patient as I looked at color options and settled on a designed. At each step of the process Solee asked my thoughts, length, color, design - No Request was too small. The shop is clean and the team friendly. It’s truly built for comfort - Each station a purse hook, phone stand, and comfortable seating. I couldn’t have asked for a better find on a Thursday morning.

Perhaps I asked for the wrong service, but my nails were a huge disappointment. Was traveling soon and needed last minute nails. Asked for Acrylic nails, but what I received was similar to pressed on nails which didnt last very long at all. I have to say, I like the art of acrylic powder nails and what I received was glued on nails, that were then polished. Not worth $80 in my opinion. I could have bought and applied my own press on nails. Also, one nail was the wrong size. Ive never had that happen before either. First time at this spot, so not familiar with their service. But, cannot say I will be returning.

Love this salon. Very warm and welcoming (Joy lives up to her name, always very joyful 😊). Salon is extremely clean and never smells like an overwhelming amount of chemicals like other salons. Tina gives the best massages and Sarah does great work. Her professionalism and creativity speaks for itself. Im so grateful i found this salon but especially for Sarah. I have been getting a gel manicure at the same salon for years with no problem. For the last 2 months the gel had been lifting and not even lasting a week so I decided to try a new salon. This is my first experience at this nail salon.I had a pedicure and dip powder manicure. The pedicure was super rushed. My nails were polished decently, however there was zero massage. I have never gone to any nail salon for a pedicure and had no massage. I also had a dip powder manicure done. This is 8 days later. For $70 and a manicure that is supposed to last 3-4 this is unacceptable.The salon was very busy when I went. I had an appointment and did not wait for my pedicure to start, but it was definitely rushed and not relaxing at all. It seems like they take on more customers than they can handle at one time to make more money. I overheard what seemed to be regular customers complaining to each other that “this always happens” (meaning a wait time). If I have an appointment I do not expect to be rushed. Overall this was a disappointing experience and I will not return. I debated even writing this review, but for the amount of money I spent (almost $100) I don’t want other people having the same experience.

The customer service is amazing. Everyone is very friendly and kind. They put a warm compress on your neck and they call you by name. I have been going to them for about 4 years now. They are wonderful. You will not regret going there. Make sure you try them. That are excellent..

This was my first time here and they did an absolutely amazing job!! Everyone there is so nice and they take good care of you. It was pretty busy when I went and they took their time to make sure each nail is perfect. The results came out a lot better than I expected! Plus, the salon was so clean and everything was organized. I highly recommend this place!!

This is my absolute favorite nail salon. I used to live locally and frequented here often now I live out of state and if I have to be in NJ I make SURE to take some me time for my nails. I havent had a problem with not one person whose helped me here or done my nails. Truly a gem.

I have been looking for a good nail and holy cow have I found it. Finally a place that has technicians that genuinely enjoy their job. The manager was so sweet and inviting. The employees were all so nice and best of all I had the best dip manicure I have ever gotten! Teresa was so meticulous I was so impressed with her level of perfection. The owner also said she’d be getting more dip colors which I look forward to. This is absolutely my new salon!

My nail tech was very meticulous and professional - she checked in with me frequently to see if I liked it or if I wanted to change any detailing. Got a Gelx set done in this super cute Barbie pink color. Solee and Terrie (apologies if wrong spelling) are extremely knowledgeable and even suggested a UV gel for my thumb since it was being a bit fussy. Highly recommend and sweet staff too.

Been coming here for for a year now and everyone is so nice and does a great job! I get the UV Gel Andy nails always look great and they last so long with no breakage!

Was charged a $170 (hand written receipt by the receptionist)for short nail extension on gel polish and pedicure. I believe I should get value for money!! First of the, $55 pedi was done shabbily , that I had to revisit next morning to get a correction on the toe nail gel color. 4 days after getting a $135 (ridiculous charge) nail done by Jennifer I get 2 nails weak and fall off . Its not about getting the money off a customer but the satisfaction and recommendation /retention that is achieved that should matter . Never again!!!!

This is my go-to nail salon in Montclair! I always leave satisfied. Jane is the nail technician that I trust with my nails and I always get designs with gel. I’ve also been on days when Jane is out of town and the ladies are amazing! If you’re considering this nail salon, call ahead and book your appointment!

I got a gel manicure at nail 2000 and am so pleased with the outcome. I asked for a crazy nail request (10 different colors one on each nail) and it came out so perfectly. I love the subtle gradient of the colors. They had plenty of colors to choose from too to make this request happen. Afterwards, I went down to Fabourgs to get a drink for the evening. Would definitely recommend heading here if you need to get your nails fancy right before a night out in Montclair!

I have been going to New 2000 Nails for about 8 years now and I still love it. All the prices are reasonable and they do a great job... you dont have to compensate the prices for the quality of the service. The salon is very clean and the tools they use are all sterilized. I got a pedicure this time and they still wrap the pedicure tub with a plastic wrap prior to starting. Love it!

The service here!!! I am half sleep writing this because I am so relaxed! The massages felt so good and I have an s at the end because I received multiple massages!!! Mike was amazing and very hospitable. My nail tech did not rush and took her time. I felt very pampered and that was definitely needed. 10/10!!

Stopped into Nails 2000 and got a good fill-in yesterday by Joy, definitely pleased with the results. Also got a pedicure which was okay as well. Will definitely return.

If you want regular, basic, plain gel nails im sure they are fantastic at doing them. I came in only for a refill and new design. My shape was already done from my previous nail technician. I asked the owner if someone could do this nail style she said yes. I said are you sure because if you can’t it’s okay...I don’t want to pay for something someone can not do. She reassured me someone could. Towards the end of the session I tried so hard not to be frustrated because for the most part the service was awesome, but the work wasn’t...Also the technician was ready to rush my job as she saw my frustration with her work. I just know this isn’t the place to go for a “different” nail style. The manager said they had never done a style or design like mine. So my question is then why would you con me out of $180 for something your technicians have never done. Lesson learned to check the previous work of nail salons.

May has been doing my hard gel manicures for the past six months, and she does an amazing job every time. The entire staff at this salon are so friendly and welcoming. I definitely recommend a first time visit, you’ll probably end up a regular!

Probably the most luxurious nail salon experience Ive ever had. First time going in. I was given a heating pad for my upper back and shoulders and offered a quick massage as my nails were getting done. Spa pedicure was so relaxing, I chose the eucalyptus one. All in all 10 out of 10. Pricy but worth every penny.

Went here a few days ago to get a gel manicure and a spa pedicure. I was greeted as soon as I entered by the person who provided me these services. She was very helpful and took pride in her work. The atmosphere is nice. The polish is good quality unlike some places that will thin out their polish to save money. I knocked off one star due to a previous experience where I was told they could do a specific design but it did not come close. That experience nearly ruined my ability to de-stress during the little me time that I get for myself as a single parent. However, I have learned their limits and keep my nails basic. It would be nice though to be able to do something different.

We had a couples pedicure, and afterward, I decided to do my own manicure. The pedicure, done by the Latin American girls, was fantastic—top-notch. However, my manicure was dreadful. They dont use water for manicures here, and the cuticle trimming was the worst Ive experienced.

I have been getting GelX extensions and fill ins with May for almost a year now - she is the best! She’s so good at shaping my nails and also can copy any design I show her. If you’re serious about your nails, she is the woman to see!

I got gel-x for the first time today and I absolutely loved it. I saw Solee and she was very detailed with my nails and truly achieved what I was looking for. As someone that got acrylic for years, this was a nice change and I prefer it actually.

I got a full set gel-x with chrome and this place was really good and very clean the people were very nice as well

Best nail place in Essex county by far. Really affordable for a mani pedi and they do a great job. They really care about how good your nails look when you leave. Its also the cleanest nail place in the area. They open new packages for each customer. They will make sure that your nails look absolutely perfect and amazing. ( Ignore the fact that one of my nails is shorter than the others in the photo. I broke it before coming in and thats completely my bad lol. )

Called two hours ahead for a 430 appointment asking for someone in particular. They confirmed that she will be available at 4:30 and to come in. I paid for a babysitter and took the time to drive to the nail salon, find parking, paid for parking, only to walk in and be told it would be a wait because the person I requested was in the middle of an appointment and she wouldn’t be ready until 5:00. Why would you make an appointment for someone only to not be able to take them until a half hour later? Even worse, when I walked in they asked me to take a seat. I told them I’d have to leave by 5:15. They said no problem. They made me sit there for 10 minutes only to tell me it wouldn’t be until 5:00, further wasting my time. Completely unprofessional and a disregard for someone’s time. NEVER coming back.

My dip in powder disappeared and some are chipped after 1 week. $50 down the drain. If you are going to be so expensive then please at least use good quality products. Thank you

My family and I have been coming to this nail salon for years. It is the absolute BEST -- Ive never been able to find another one that compares. The owner, Joy, is absolutely amazing. She offers top of the line customer service. The moment you walk in, she goes out of her way to make you feel at home. In addition, the salon is absolutely gorgeous and well-maintained. Ive always been pleased with my nails. Its neatly done and the gel polish is high quality (lasts over 2 weeks). Id highly recommend this place. You wont be disappointed.

I just moved in town and need it a manicure, the lady that greeted me Lee was very pleasant and Erica the technician was God sent. She took her time in not only giving me a manicure but corrected was what done wrong on the previous place. She show compassion in allowing me to take a sit of coffee and a bit of food Ididn’t eat nothing that morning. This place is not a factory they do care for the customers. Thank you to all and the 10 minute massage was much needed.

Customers beware!Prior to going in I called New 2000 Nails to make sure they did gel-x manicures and asked for the price ($80) I currently had a set on and typically go to a salon in NYC. They were able to get me in day of for what I thought was a gel-x manicure. The man who did my nails knew I was there for gel-x and did not remove my existing set, which I questioned and said shouldnt you be removing these nails? He said no and insisted that a UV-gel fill is much better. My nails were already drilled at this point and I didnt want to spend any more time in the salon especially when I asked for one thing and was given something totally different.When I went to pay he charged me $80 (I dont get UV gel fills so not sure if this is avg) I pay that much in NYC for a brand new set of Gel-X! Bottom line is he was probably too lazy to give me a whole new set and got away with charging me the same price.

It’s been only 6 days and my “gel” manicure is already chipped! The gel manicure was very quick and sloppy, she did not put enough coats on and I had to point that out to her and show here the my nail wasn’t completely polished. At that point I knew I wasn’t going to return here. When it came time to pay I took out my card and the first thing that the lady who checked me out said to me was “ tip is cash only” … need I say more ? I won’t be returning ever !

Incredible! I first came in in a major hurry and they accommodated me in a manner that blew me away. I’ve been hooked since :) Gel manis last a MONTH if you’re careful, as do regular pedicures. Staff is beyond friendly and warm. Cannot recommend enough!

I frequent here often enough...but they are consistently friendly and during a year that has been extremely difficult for EVERYONE ...THEY STILLL find a way to give out exceptional service. Not only that for a little 2020 cheer they offer patrons a small token of appreciation which I truly appreciate!!! What a gem to the community. It reminded me today why I support them always!!! It’s clean, the ladies are kind, and they always do a great job with my nails - I normally get color gel and it always stays put for weeks! Solee normally does my nails and she is Ah-mazing. Her manicures usually last weeks and are pretty flawless until the very end.Would definitely recommend it to my friends if they’re looking for a great nail place at a great price in the neighborhood!

The most expensive worst SNS manicure I’ve ever had. Four of my nails have completely broken and that hasn’t happened in years. So disappointed I spent so much money for this.

I got a gel manicure and within two days a few nails started lifting in the corners. The manicure did not last a week before all nails were lifting at the corners. Seems as though the pedicurists are doing manicures now. Not sure if those staff have been properly trained in manicures.

I went there to get full leg waxing & pedicure done. The lady who did my waxing did a fine job. However the lady who did the pedicure had a very unwelcoming attitude. My nailpaint on one of the toes smudged & chipped within an hour of getting out. Never going back.

The pedicure was overpriced! The girl who did the pedicure rushed through the whole process. She didnt put oil on me, she barely used the lotion and she completely ignored my heels. I left feeling dry and UNSATISFIED!

Over charged, use the wrong products on nails . They use MMA . WAY OVER PRICED. They lie about the price and wait till the end to say no I never said that I pay 182 for just my toes you have to be kidding me . I can’t wait to report this to THE BBB . Because that is stealing .

First of all these people the owner I should say is very rude and ignorant this is my 3rd time coming here and I never paid 28 dollars for a pedicure so she said something about the polish but never told me upfront a price difference. Then I guess this young man that works there is her Son and he was rude and yelling his mother thought it was funny the OWNER. Very disturbing and sad!

Don’t ever go here if you want SNS, they claim to know how to do it but don’t!!! The lady doing my nails pulled the SNS off with cuticle cutters instead of letting it soak.Then proceeded to file my natural nails too thin and they cracked in half the first week, it was a painful process. Don’t waste your time and money here if you want SNS!!
