Really incredible genuine staff. One of the few places thats honest and not out just to get your money. The bull ride is only 3 bucks for 3 rides. Definitely a cool novelty thing to check out while youre here.It looks like this place would be a lot of fun on a busier weekend, but I got the pleasure to check it out when it wasnt chaotic. The staff was inclusive and great to hang out with. They have a beer pong table here along with what seems to be a dance floor. The upstairs has a really spacious balcony area that overlooks bourbon street. Drinks were fairly priced and well mixed. If I ever come back to visit this city this will be one of those place I stop at every time.
Been to this bar three times and had an awesome time each night. I line dance a lot and had a great time dancing with DJ Kodiak and Jamie. Staff are overall awesome and very welcoming, drinks are normally priced, the wooden floor is excellent and they play a great selection of line dancing songs. I am looking forward to visiting NOLA again and coming back to Boot Scootin Rodeo.
Nice bar in which i have been to about 3 times. it has a pretty big dance floor downstairs with a game room and then an upstairs space with an additional bar along with a balcony & mechanical bull! they pretty much only play country style music (which is fine, just a thing to note if you’re looking for something else). my most recent encounter there i had a bouncer give me a look as i was walking in because he thought i looked too young (i’m 23). so he verified my DOB on my ID and i still felt like he wasn’t believing me...he let me in though. and, i guess it’s good to know they take precautions, but i wondered what would’ve happened if he just didn’t believe my ID was real or that i was being truthful about my age. otherwise, the bar tender who helped me & my friends was super nice & sweet.
This place is a dump. The bouncer punched my friend in the face for using the bathroom thinking he didn’t buy a drink when we were all riding the bull and drinking there. Got him arrested. Do not go here! What a slum. Not to mention it was absolutely empty. Who wants to go to a country bar in the heart of jazz
I would definitely put Boot Scootin Rodeo on your list of bars to check out when on the Bourbon Street crawl. Even if you aren’t in to country music, they have more than just music at this place. They have a mechanical bull, a pool table, other games, the balcony (of corse needed for looking down upon the other drunkers whilst you drink & for throwing beads) a beer pong table, a dance floor and very cute picturesque saddle seats near the bar. All along with the country theme decor and music, to me, it’s one of the best spots down bourbon that I recommend to all.
A friend and I were in New Orleans for a week to celebrate Mardi Gras, and we found this place cause of the music. We went every night, and by the time we left for home, we didnt even need to show ID or vaccine cards at the door, the staff knew us by face and greeted us with big smiles and high fives. The music was awesome, with a great dance floor on the ground level, and bathrooms in the back. there were some arcade games off to the side, and on the second floor. The third floor had the mechanical bull, a second bar, and a balcony that had an awesome view all the way to Canal St.The staff were friendly, polite, and fun. Shout out to Jamie and Courtney for the great service. The dance floor gets a little hard to find if you dont know your way, and have been drinking, but once you know how to get there, its easy to remember. The selfie station is on an old barrel, and its free to send a picture to yourself.Make sure you take a picture on the far end of the dance floor with the Red White and Blue wings.
BULL Riding, Cornhole, Giant connect 4, this is my kind of bar, where you get to do so many things, of course all alongside getting boozed. There’s 2nd floor balcony to watch the crowd and throw some beads at them. If lucky you get flashed sometimes, IYKYK :PWe went to the club on a quite Monday night. It was mostly empty. So we all piled on the bull ride thats on 2nd floor. You get 3 rounds, each last about 30s~60s based on your skills. It costs around $5 per ride. Really fun thing to experience, but high chances injuries, so take it easy, cause you sign the waiver before you get on the bull.On the chill side, there’s cornhole, connect 4 and few other games next to the bar in first floor. The first floor bar is massive. There’s a smaller bar on second floor as well. Servers are nice and friendly.
Dj kodiak is the BEST! we are dancers from oklahoma and he made us feel so welcome and right at home. wish we could take him back to oklahoma and show the other djs how its done. great night of dancing with great staff
Had a great time, I was there almost every night when I went to Mardi Gras. I did some line dances with DJ Kodiak and Jessie, they made this trip really fun. The song line up was great. I will be going back to Boot Scootin’ Rodeo every time I go to New Orleans!
Music greatAtmosphere and other customers greatBull riding very coolStaff AWFUL!!!We had planned to stay longer, but the staff were so incredibly rude…we decided to leave and will not be going back.
Bartender was rude. So sad I really was trying to compromise and despite our efforts, she kept having a bad attitude. She had short blonde hair. Hopefully next time we have a better time.
Absolutely LOVE this place!!! I highly recommend checking this place out if you’re on bourbon street! It’s such a fun atmosphere. Me and my fiancé went here multiple times because it was our favorite spot! We met lots of friendly and awesome people here and the staff is AMAZING! Not only are the bartenders awesome but the general manager Eric is the BEST! I stupidly left my engagement ring on the bathroom sink and had already flown home. He worked with me to get my ring back home safely and I will forever be grateful! I can’t thank him enough for taking the time out of his day to do that for me. Next time I’m in New Orleans, this is the first place I will come and I can’t wait!
Coming from Pennsylvania there were some bars on bourbon street that wasn’t 100% our style. This one on the other hand was most definitely up our alley. And although I did enjoy other bars in and around the area along with some hidden gems we found. This one was something we could come to on s daily basis if wanted. The bartender was also very friendly even though he was s fan of the opposite sports teams as us. But hey enemies can be friends as well.
Very aggressive bouncers who punched my female friend in the face and pushed her to the ground. Very disgusting I’m still in shock. Obviously the employees were pride themselves on being overly violent and creating a hostile atmosphere. Also it’s really not that fun and super expensive even for bourbon standards….
This place is an oasis in an ocean of shenanigans; full bar but limited with what they can do but make up for it in creativity and great service from the staff; if you need to get your country fix, this is the spot, with a mechanical bull for all you wild ones, and plenty of cold Ice water available throughout the place to keep you going all night! The bottom floor has a great bar with creative bar stools for you Instagram folks and the top floor provides that much needed balcony for all your NOLA people watching, bead throwing needs. Can’t speak about the food cause I didn’t have any but probably should have; Enjoy responsibly!
This was a fun bar to hang out in! My husband who despises country music even liked hanging out here. They had a bull that you can ride and you can hang on the balcony to people watch. 4 out of 5 stars because we stopped in two different days and they have the same playlist on repeat. More of a music mix would have been nice.
Multiple floors of fun stuff to do - cornhole, pool, riding a mechanical bull.Lots of space so never felt too crowded (but it was also a Tues and Wed night).Balcony upstairs was also great to enjoy your drink while you soaked in the sights and sounds of NOLA.Not a place to order a fancy cocktail but good prices to grab a beer.A must visit when on Bourbon street.
A security guard who was clearly on cocaine tried to fight us for putting our shoes on. If we were in the wrong direction, it takes nothing to be kind. We told the manager and he said “well, I’ll check the cameras.” We wanted nothing but for the worker to be dealt with. I can’t believe this happen. It’s overwhelming and embarrassing.
Stopped by for a drink. The wait staff was friendly. Jake the bartender was great. He suggested a few breakfast places and he was on point with each.
If you like country music stop here! If you dont like country music still stop here! It was fun. Bull riding! They let us in with our outside drink as long as I promised to buy a drink from the bar which was nice. Other places we had to leave our drink outside! Was nice! Good music!
Bryant made the mechanical bull experience so fun! What a wonderful place! 5 stars!
Good music. Lots of space. Fun place to go with a group. Has a mechanical bull!
The best part of the experience was the bathroom attendant! We only went in for the bull ride. There were 4 people who went ahead of me and not one of them were asked to get on the scale. One was a young white guy, the other 3 were very attractive white women. I guess I wasn’t too appealing to the bull operator. I do believe the scale is rigged, but even so the fact remains that no one ahead of me was weighed. When I said something he said “I’ve been weighing people all night honey!” I legit watched everyone else go without hitting that scale. I’m embarrassed to say the least. I’d feel much better if in fact he had weighed everyone. I definitely will NEVER patronize this place again and suggest that no one I know visit this place especially if you’re not appealing to the staff!! On top of everything else no one is being carded at the door, anyone can go in there!
Usually love this place and have to stop by anytime we are in New Orleans; however, this past Saturday (night before Saints home opener), my husband and I visited and closed out after each drink order. Once we got home and checked our account statement, it was apparent the bartender added an extra $3 tip on top of the original tip for ALL of our receipts. If we do return we are planning to just use cash here so we dont have this happen again. We used the same bartender for each order. Assuming she (or they) does this to all her receipts at the end of the night, their total tips are obviously being almost doubled.
Kodiak and Jamie are the best ever. They make every night so fun.
Oh I loved this place!! In an area with an infinite of bars to choose from, this place felt like home. (I may be biased bc I’m from WV and love country-related bars, but oh well 🤷🏻♀️). There’s three levels to this place with plenty of seating, activities, lounges, a balcony, and even a mechanical bull! I went there just about every night on my trip. Stop by and you’ll have a blast. Support local 💜
My friend and I had a great time! We only went for the bull riding experience so not sure what the food and drinks are like. Great atmosphere and very welcoming.
Came to New Orleans for the first time this week. Found this bar-let’s say that it was the star of the trip. We were here every night until close. Amazing staff and service. Well poured drinks and attractions. A must visit for a nice country bar!
Came to New Orleans for the weekend with a friend and ended up at Boot Scootin’ Rodeo every night. This place was great. There’s a mechanical bull, beer pong table, and pool tables. Our server, Cory, was kind, attentive, and friendly. We enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning.
My partner and I stopped in the last time we were in New Orleans, and had the best time! There is a large dance floor, several bars with great service, and a fun atmosphere! We danced all night! I even asked for a special request from Erich, which he so generously helped me with! We will be coming back on our next trip fro sure!
I came in, sat down at the bar, and was ignored by the bartenders the entire time I sat there. I had my cash out thinking I would get waited on but continued to be ignored while they looked directly at me. I had one beer and left but that was only because one of many men that came up beside me and got waited on saw my frustration and ordered me a beer. I tip good so it’s their loss but I encountered the worst bartender service of my lifetime and I was celebrating my birthday. You need better bartenders. Visit was on 9/17/22.
Went there on a Saturday night; what a great crowd and a big change from the hip hop madness of other bourbon bars. Great country music and nice staff. Nick the GM was a perfect host.My girlfriend tried THe Boot, a boot shaped 16 oz red drink; she said it was tasty. Our new favorite spot on Bourbon.
Hands down my favorite place to go when I’m in New Orleans! Courtney and Cory were bartending this last time I was there and they just made our night! They are awesome! Also Jamie the manager with the cowboy hat was amazing! She taught some dances while we were there and we had a blast!! Honestly couldn’t recommend boot scootin rodeo enough!!
I came here 10 years ago with a group of like 15 friends. This was the 2nd spot we stopped @. The bull ride of course was the best. The shots were flowing like water. It was a great time all around. I need to go back to see if I can still hang in there on the bull lol.
The Bull riding guy is awesome! He was fun and provided a good laugh!! However the female manager, she was rude and unfriendly…. She was LITERALLY the only rude person we met in ALL of NOLA.
We were there the weekend of Feb 8-9 and the band was AMAZING! The place is huge with plenty of space for dancing, and there was a balcony upstairs. You have to fill out a form and pay $7 for the bull ride, the operator wasn’t very nice or excited to be there which was a buzzkill
Very fun place with country throwbacks, mechanical bull riding ($8 for 3 rounds), and saddles for bar stools. Drinks were pricey, but its bourbon street.
Disappointing to say the least. Its only note worthy attraction is the bull ride @ $25 for 1 ride and a t-shirt.Balcony is rickety & feels like it will detach from the building any moment. Covid standards are NOT in place. But I wouldnt judge a place for not upholding covid standards. Thats what you have gels & wipes for.The biggest negative are the bar tenders. Specifically one female on the 2nd floor. Rude....I dont know but whats your opinion when you finally get the bartenders attention, shes slapping the bar & snapping card with a nasty impatient attitude, repeatedly. Then when you ask to close your tab, she ignores you multiple times, as she continues to ignore even AFTER she retrieves your card. Would you be OK with that? By the way, it was FAR from being busy on either if their floors.Well we were NOT ok with that!
Horrible experience. The staff is incredibly unprofessional and rude. The bartender literally cursed me out for no reason - all kinds of F bombs and B words as soon as we approached her. This was while the bar was completely empty and we were actually trying to give the establishment some money. The bar owner came and instead of diffusing the situation, he continued the harassment. This place stands out in a horrible way - don’t waste your time. Plenty more to do on Bourbon St.
Barback or cleaner told me to leave. Then when I was mid getting up and said okay. Said NOW. We had ten minutes left until last call. Honestly Great place but when drunk and spending $15 a drink he really killed the vibe of NOLA for me. You arent missing much if you walk by here.
We enjoyed going here a few nights. It is an upgrade from Bourbon Cowboy and our group enjoyed their time there.
A fun atmosphere the mechanical bull guy was awesome and friendly, drinks were reasonably, music was good, and the staff was nice. Even the security guys were super friendly which was a first for me.
Worst experience I’ve had at a bar ever. Door guy denied my ID because he said Florida IDs have eye color on then which isn’t true. Very unprofessional when confronted about the situation and actually forcefully pushed off the property by the door guy when trying proving my ID was real. There’s tons of other places to spend your time and money on Bourbon street, definitely avoid this place.
Looking for a country bar, with country music look no further. They have western saddles as chairs which was funny to watch people sit on them. They had a live band when I went that played you guessed it country music. They also have a decent sized dance floor if you are looking to line dance or a little 1,1,2 step.
I normally dont go to country bars, but I must say this was my favorite bar on bourbon street. It was very busy but the bartenders were very fast. I never had to wait long for a drink.
DJ on May 8th 2019 at 11:00pm was awfulYou would think that being 1 of 5 patrons in bar he would play your request( I love country music which is hard to find on bourbon street) but no and by his choices is why the place as emptyWent back to Razzoo much better place to enjoy New Orleans
Had a GREAT time here! They mixed genres of music so it kept it fun. I would have been great with just country, but it was just all around fun. I loved the barstools. Go here to have some fun!
I was in there on 10/24/20 and also on 10/25/20. On Sunday night between 10-11pm my wallet was stolen from my purse in the upstairs bar area. I asked Nick to please review the security cameras so I can file a police report. He took down my info but I haven’t gotten a call back and can’t get through on your phone line. It’s constantly busy. Please call me back or email.Thank you,Starr Roberts
Closed out after each transaction the night of 9/17, bartender doubled all three tips I left. We come here every trip to NOLA, no longer interested after that.
Fun entertainment. Folks riding the bull and falling off. If you like country bars this is the place for you. Drinks were stiff.
Great bar with amazing bartenders and good atmosphere, Cassidy is definitely my favorite bartender in New Orleans and an absolutely amazing person, I would absolutely come back again :)
All you need to know about this place is that is has a mirrored saddle in the place of a disco ball. If that sounds like your kinda place then get on the dance floor. If not, there are other places on Bourbon
Cheap beer and good fun on the mechanical bull and bar saddle seats. Probably for a younger crowd but good fun.
Be careful girls in the bathroom the attendant tried stealing my daughters wallet. I reported to managment asap. Otherwise music was awesome and bartenders were great.
Great music! Had The Boot and it was yummy. The one thing I did not like was having an attendant in the bathroom. I hate feeling obligated to tip. It is just awkward.
This place is absolutely amazing. From the staff to all the customers. Everyone is just so polite and courteous. An Oasis on Bourbon, one of a kind
Super fun bull ridin’ and Lyric was the best bartender!!
Best bar on Bourbon!
Fun spot.Cool balcony.Bull riding!
So we were not sure whether to go here. BILLY was chill and convinced us to come in. Def not a let down!!!
Friendly staff and awesome balcony. The bull ride was fun too!!
Love it here! Go see Cory upstairs! We make this a regular stop because of him!
Good music, but they fill the top shelf liquor with well liquor.
Almost everything on Bourbon was closed and this place SAVED our weekend 🙌🏼 Great staff and great time!!
We had a blast! We will be back thanks for a change in pace for country people!
Travis is the best bartender!! -The college from Florida!!
David St. Romain was awesome! Had a great time! Who Dat!⚜️⚜️⚜️
No atmosphere bit of a rip off
This is a fun spot, especially the balcony
Fantastic live music
