On The Rocks Bar

Ive been commuting from VA everyday fr the past few weeks. Ended up working late and getting a room. Found this place after a did a quick Google maps search, and was IMMEDIATELY sold when a review said this bar reminded them of Cheers.BRIAN was the bartender when I came in. He was super welcoming and had great small talk. As someone whos never been here, he treated me like a regular.CHARLIE, who prepared the food, also came out when he had time and was a pleasure to chat with. The food he made was really good.The environment is what I look for in a bar. If I lived here, this would be my regular spot.. Its refreshing to find small places like this, where people care and build a welcoming environment. Id come back, NO QUESTION! Cheers to another late work day!

This place was such a pleasant surprise. We were there on a Tuesday evening around 7. The patrons and bartender Brian greeted us as we entered. Brian introduced himself and told us about the food they offered. We picked a great day to visit because the owner had smoked some ribs, pork butt, and pork loin. My husband and I had pulled pork sandwiches with their homemade BBQ sauce and it was absolutely delicious. Brian also makes a wonderful margarita. I would classify this place as a bar that has a limited menu but so much better than your typical bar cardboard pizza and microwave hot dogs. Our total bill for 1 Mich Ultra, 1 Jose margarita, 2 pulled pork sandwiches, and an order of onion rings was $26 before tip. Not bad at all! They also have 2 pool tables and a few dart boards. Well definitely be back.

Went in for pool league, everything was nice and calm, until one of my players went up to the bar to order a drink. For some reason, one of the owners, who was drunk was sitting in the corner and threatened the player that went to the bar. Night pretty much went downhill from there. Im a big believer in if you owned or work at the bar, you shouldnt be drinking there. Owner is lucky he didnt get slapped around.

I used to work there at let me tell you, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BAR!!!! BOTH OWNERS ARE BAD ALCOHOLICS AND DRINK EXCESSIVLEY AND WHEN THEY DO THEY MAKE FUN OF THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES AND PATRONS! the one owner with the bald head who looks like an idiot also sells drugs out of the bar, i know this for a fact because ive seen it with my own eyes and held his drugs in my hand. the liquor bottles ar watered down and the beer is often outdated but they sell it anyways. please go to Hutchs Pub or Christiana Pub. both bars are excellent and never any problems at all.does the IRS know you pay your employees under the table like i was paid? i et they would love to go through your records. tax evasion is a horrible thing to do and they punish harshly and if i am correct you are the only registered owner on paper for that place and you would assume all responsibility for any wrongdoing, not your drug dealing partner, dave Thompson. you damn well know the $30,000 you got from him to save the bar came from drugs. you know full well he is a criminal and that he sells drugs out of the bar. i can attest to it because hes given me drugs to give to customers; and collect money from them for it.

Im friends with the owner and staff. Ive been going here for years and always make it my place to go for karaoke. Ill miss everyone from there when I move.

Bartenders could do a much better job of being.... bartenders and not semi-patrons.

I nice local bar. The bartenders are always friendly and quick on service. Pool tables and dart boards provide some entertainment as well. Karaoke was on Wednesday. My last visit, I tried the kitchen for the first time. I had wings that were pretty tasty. Cooked through and lightly crisp on the outside with tender meat inside,ample amount of sauce. I was pleasantly surprised and will try them again.

Pool tables are not bad. Its pretty mellow, the bartender was great. Food isnt bad either. Its a nice place to just sit and relax if you want to go out or try a new bar.

Its not your typical corporate appointed bar but, a nice, friendly place for locals, bikers, friends, pool players and karaoke lovers to get together to have fun and drink. Even though the bar closed at 1am and pretty sure the clock displayed the time at just before 11pm. Even when my husband asked the moment we walked in, what time the kitchen closed (12). When my husband went back less than 5 minutes later to ask for a menu, a different person told us the kitchen was closing in a minute. Then, when my husband went to put in our names for karaoke they were already shutting down. They did allow one of us to sing one song. Despite the minor setbacks, it was still a nice little bar. The people were very friendly and if were ever back in the area well probably stop by again, just a little earlier and verify times with more than one bartender.

This bar is wonderful. I originally came here to shoot a few games of pool, and frequently return for the perfectly crafted drinks, prompt service, and wonderful demeanor not only from the staff, but also from the regulars and patrons. Karaoke a few nights, with applause and cheers for any brave enough to try a song, darts, and pool, which is even free a couple nights a week. All walks of life frequent this bar and have been treated like long friends. I love this bar.

This is the only bar Ive ever been into where the barman introduced himself shook my hand and asked my name. Later as some of the locals came in he introduced me. It was very quiet at the time but as a traveller it was great to meet some locals. Puts me in mind of the Cheers bar. It was great. Thanks Tony!

Atmosphere is good, friendly people and bartender was great...food not so much. Undercooked and looked bland, didnt really taste much better. But it has gotten a lot better from the time I was charged twice on my credit card a few years back. Drink prices are reasonable. All in all had a good time.

Had a deeply intoxicated patron yell at my wife until she was in tears, while her only offense was trying to order a drink. This dude flies off the handle, threatened a woman with violence, and meanwhile the staff was completely uncaring and utterly without a scrap of concern for their patrons. The lack of bouncers is palpable and problematic. Its a filthy hole in the wall dive, if youre into that kind of thing... Just watch out for customers that think they own the place.

Nice cozy place ,drinks are good ,music is great and I enjoy watching my husband play pool,while I drink my pineapple malibu😋😋

Stopped in on a whim in nice bartender, plenty of games, dart leagues, pool s. The Beers cold just no draughts at this time, kitchen is open have not tried it yet, I will though! Prices are par for the area. Friday nights are very popular with the karaoke crowd full house so far, if you like grabbing the Mike come in down!

Great place to unwind. Patrons are great people and there are never any issues. The menu has an awesome array of food that taste amazing and at a great price. You will never know the experience until you walk in. Your name will not be forgotten by staff

On a 26 dollar bill we tipped 2 bucks to make it 28 on a visa gift card that we had 29 dollars on. When we gave the bartender the bill he threw a fit because the tip wasn’t good enough so we tipped him another 3 dollars in cash. Will not be back.

The bartender is a sweetheart and makes amazing drinks. She gives service with a smile and always makes sure your needs are met with a quickness. The karyoke is wonderful. All and all, a great atmosphere. You want a bar you can play darts, have drinks and have wonderful service? Come to On The Rocks!

As soon as we walked in there was a gross smell, like cleaning chemicals. We sat at the bar & were greeted but then was hovered over. Wasn’t a very comfortable feeling while we were sitting there. It’s basically a hole in the wall and has a specific audience. Long story short, if you’re single women don’t go inOr just beware!

The bartender was really nice. Chicken wings were really good. Nice pool tables. Will go again.

I enjoy coming here for karaoke and they have some decent booze. The cayman is my favorite ❤️ the bartenders are nice and the food is pretty good.

Giving 4 stars since I am biased. Great place to take a bunch of friends, especially for kareoke after 9. New ownership as of.. sept 2017 or so. Not a place to get food, but if you want to shoot darts, play pool and have a fun time, its a good place.

Nice bar to hang out at. Low on pretension, fun place to relax with your friends. Reasonable drink prices, great service. They dont serve food, but there there is a pizza shop and a chinese take out that share the parking lot, so I didnt think it was fair to give them a poor rating. Darts, pool tables and karaoke, so there is always something to do.

Ive been here a few times over the years. Its a small place with places to sit and a couple of pool tables. I know they do karaoke here sometimes. I think a good feature is it is located next to places to get food since they only serve drinks.

Very interesting little bar. Kind of a hole in the wall kind of place. Seemed kinda dead early on Friday night but picked up quite well. Plenty of stuff to do...pool tables, dart boards, and karaoke.

Karaoke, darts, and pool make for a great local hangout. Decent drinks prices and very friendly bartenders. They dont have food but you can order from the places in the shopping center right there. My favorite local hangout to chill and have fun with friends.

Some jerk screamed from the top of his lungs at me because he thought I brought a beer in from outside. Once the bartender explained to him that I bought the beer there he tried to shake my hand which of course I refused due to the fact that he embarrased me for no reason and caused a scene. I guess me not shaking his hand caused him to get embarrassed so he screamed at me to get out of his bar that he wasnt even working in (he was playing darts the whole time). And the bartender encouraged me to leave as well. So if your not willing to accept an apology from the dude with the long beard then dont go. Besides that it was great.

This place is off the CHAIN!!! Everyone is wonderful and friendly. They have Karoake and now every tuesday night they have open mic. Thats where anyone can get on the mic and read poetry, sing a song or anything else that they would like to do. I play guitar & sing. I love this place! I bring as many people with me as I can and we all have fun. There is a chinese restaurant and a pizza shop next door to the bar and you are allowed to bring food in! Ive been going there for over a year now and actually was visiting from north Jersey because I had so much fun at OTR. Now I live within a few miles and its now my place... Especially Tuesday nights! Its a great place to hang out. As a matter of fact, Im on my way there tonight to sing karaoke. I was looking up the address to give to a family member thats going to meet me there and I saw this comment section. If you like to have fun, great prices, lots of smiles and they will clap for you, even if you sing horribly! You will even get high fives!! How can you not love a place like that. Ok, I met Jen C, one of the bartenders, she introduced me to her husband who worked on my laptop for free and refused to take any money!! They invited me to their home for Sunday dinner. Im six foot, 320 lbs of black man. I think people that invite me to dinner are really cool. The owner is off the chain as well and really cares about her customers as well as her staff. You wont meet a better person. I highly encourage anyone that likes to have fun to stop by OTR and tell em Thad sent you.

When i say i LOVE this place... I LOVE this place.. owners Nikki & Dave ( i think thats his name) AWESOME!!!! Ive had several parties there and they go ABOVE & BEYOND to allow you to enjoy the night..... not one compliant....i have met SEVERAL fun feisty folks there that Ive remained friends with... so if you get a chance to go in there PLEASE do & tell em Erica sent you😉😉😊😊😊

We go here to shoot pool, which is always fun. We happen to do it on Wednesday nights when they have karaoke and I love it. Theres a mix of talent and its always a fun crowd.

When you go diving, youre going to find yourself deep at this establishment. They have good drink specials and you can bring in outside food. The bar staff are friendly and responsive.

Decent local bar. Doesnt promise too much but it delivers everything it promises. The kareoke here multiple times a week keeps it as a warm place in my heart

Hometown bar that does not like outsiders and will start trouble 1st chance they get! no food and horrible clientel! if you like drama then this is the place for you! no food and they will start a fight with you if your new or an outsider! worst bar ive ever been to! karoake is good but be careful of who you talk to and what you say! i was threatened because i bumped a girl with my pool stick one night, then another night another regular tryed to start a fight with me because im from philly originally! unless you fight mma , i would stay away!

First time there, quite nice. Met up with my daughter and her friends. Owner and bartender were very nice and talkative.

I went for karaoke but they stopped karaoke on Wednesday. I found out they do it on Friday so I will visit again and probably give a better review. I didnt stay after I found out no karaoke.

Other than an almost tussle that was quickly and appropriatly handled by all, this was a great dive to sink into. The KJ, Jason, was super-awesome!!! I would honestly head out here again if I had the chance. Very inviting.

On the rocks or rather otr is dive bar but in the good way. Friendly staff and regulars. Most nights there is karaoke. Only food is complimentary popcorn.

Hit or miss sometimes. Bartenders are great, especially jamie. the regulars kind of made a less unwelcoming experience if your not one of them... Good for a small place tho
