I brought a scale from area 51 and it doesnt calibrate right and they never gave me a receipt and wont exchange it for aanother one at all dont go to area 51 and buy anything cause it will not work properly and they wont let you exchange it even if they fail to give you a receipt the person that sold it to me check it and saw it wasnt working properly they sale products that arent any good and wont accommodate you when they sold you something that doesnt work

This Area 51 is amazing, all of the staff is very helpful, and just over all awesome. Highly recommend this location.

Been coming here for years, one of my favorite smoke shops. the workers are always friendly and very helpful.

Very knowledgeable staff. I have a ton of questions and they usually provide answers. Oftentimes I’ve come to them with either a storage need or general shopping needs and they have 100% fulfilled my needs. The rewards program is a nice way of getting a surprise discount once you accumulated some points.

The best service I’ve ever received at a smoke/tobacco/vape shop. I went in last week and they were super busy, but the employee working the counter did a great job multi tasking, and made sure everyone was helped in the order they arrived. I was in no rush so I waited, and once the line died down he went above and beyond to answer all of my questions and was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely will be back!

1) I love the staff here. Every single employee rocks. It makes sense why theyre so chill. 😉😆2) They have a rewards program. Ive been to at least a half a dozen different chains and this is the only one that offers a rewards program. 😮🥰

Now..I know my husband should slow down on the Cigars but thats not the topic of this review so comments dont need to concern themselves with the hazards of smoking. Im here to buyer beware everyone into realizing there is price gauging going on. A box of cigars was $65 a few days ago when I was sent to pick one up today it was $96 and when I asked why I was told inflation sucks, and that they have realized they werent charging what the other shops were charging....So why raise your prices $30? Why not just intermittently raise prices and not have it be so insulting Id like to say you will definitely notice the loss of our business

Area 51 is the best shop for my smoking needs be it a glass piece, cones, or my favorite thing in the world piece water. They offer all quality products and great prices. I will go nowhere else for my smoking needs. Im part of the rewards program and am saving point for one of the auto gravity bongs, it will be mine ohhh yes it will be mine.

Everytime I enter this store its an amazing experience. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I just wish I knew their names so I could give them a shout-out.

This is probably my third written review I can say i’ve ever left, based off my experience somewhere & I can say that i absolutely love everyone at this store. Each employee has a unique characteristic about them that makes the short 5 minutes i’m there memorable. Now i’m terrible at names but the lady with the long brown hair, who patiently waits to assist me while i like to browse through the stickers before paying & the guy with dreads & pretty hazel eyes that is super knowledgeable about each product are the two that seems to be there the most during the times i decide to drop in. Because of them i feel welcomed to always be able to come back for whatever purchase, reason, or question. thanks so much.

Good staff somewhat knowledgeable on the hot items of the time.. some of the newer employees come off as trendy upsellers.. being that they arent sure what theyre selling is good items but theyre trendy so its cool type of thing.. still give em 5 stars and just giggle when they try to upsell me

I have been a customer for a few years now and hands down the staff at Area 51 (all location) are amazing. If I’m not sure what I’m looking for they are always happy to help and very knowledgeable of their products. If you haven’t shopped with them yet you are missing out and should stop by!!

They had a variety of items to purchase. Was able to find all the items on my Christmas list except a plain ashtray. Though they have nice themed ashtrays. Very friendly staff.

This place us great. Been visiting the shop since it opened. Trish is wonderful. Very welcoming atmosphere. They treat you as if they have known you forever. So what if they charge extra fee for debit. 7-11 has done this also . This is my spot. Very friendly staff.

I dont know what took me so long to check this place out but I am glad that I did! They have very low prices for all different kinds of needs and the staff is very knowledgeable of all of their products. Alexis was VERY helpful in my search for certain products that help quit smoking and I will be a faithful customer until I die or they close, whichever comes first!

This place has awesome products and a wide variety as well. I bought a bong from a different store and was so disappointed that I didn’t visit this store first! They also have stickers and I think that’s awesome. Love this place!

Love this place! Extremely patient and friendly. The younger female with blonde hair knows her stuff and recommends what best to fit your needs. Everytime I go in the staff is awesome. Their kratom is good 👍 and they have beautiful glass 👍 I recommend to anyone who smokes, their piece water solution they carry. Keeps glass clean from residue, good stuff! I also reccomend joining their rewards program, its legit. 👍 Shout out again to their amazing staff.

I went here because it was recommended by a friend. The guy working the counter was very rude when I was asking for help because a lot of their products were unfamiliar to me. He might have been having a bad night though.

Excellent customer service.

Very poor customer service. My husband came here to use a groupon I had purchased. He got the screenshot of the groupon and said that it has to be redeemed in order for them to validate it. I had the original groupon so while my husband was being instructed by the cashier on what to do while I was on the phone with him The cashier told him for me to hit the redeem button and sent the screenshot to my husband then she called somebody and told my husband to wait. Because my husband was there for almost an hour already just trying to figure out this groupon I told him I will just go there so she could physically see the groupon and validate the Groupon. When I got in the store, I showed her the groupon that she told my husband for me to redeem, then tells me she cant help me and there is nothing she can do about it. And when I explained to her and showed her the redemption she said she has to do it herself. I explained that she was the one who asked for me to hit the redeem button now she wont accept it because she said she have to do it not me. She called the owner and Sent a pic of the of the before and after pic of the groupon and she said the date of redemption is not today and cant accept it because she needed a time stamp on the redemption. When I clicked the groupon on my phone I showed her the time stamp she was asking for and still refused to do it. And just told me to call the manager or owner tomorrow or call groupon to get my refund. She explained that if I call groupon they should be able to refund it because the code she put in earlier was not validated even if it shows redeemed on my groupon.Her demeanor simply demonstrates lack of judgement and very poor customer service and I will not come back to this establishment because to me when you are in customer service you will not let any customer leave unsatisfied especially when part of it was their fault.

Nice little smoke shop. Just move here from California and not as big of a selection. However, the staff and service was friendly and very helpful. Prices were fair and overall will be returning here over other shops in the area.

Friendly staff, cheep glass. Bought a nail and the first time I put any kind of heat on it, it cracked. I also bought a banger from here and that broke very easily. Paid a decent price for them both so super disappointed

Gave it more than one star strictly because of the awesome selection of stuff. Other than that its a pricey place to be. I figured Id buy a grinder you can get a tiny itsy bitsy one for $10 maybe $15 but most of them are $30-$40. I like the bowls and bongs but they just want too much for their pieces. Some of which are very exotic and cool to be honest.

Employees are polite and courteous, helped me out and explained a few things for me. I wont go to any other shop in Hampton Roads tbh.

This was my first time I visited their shop and I was excited cause they had different varieties of tobacco. Unfortunately I bought a Fronto leaf and when I opened the pack it had mold on it. I try to return it and get my money back but they refused and told me they will only exchange it for the same brand of leaf. So i had no choice to get a leaf I didnt not want and when I open the new pack it still had mold. The lady said it happens a lot. So I don’t understand why they could let me choose another product with them same value or just give me my money back. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING!! They are trying to tell me that it is not mold and to look it up.L. And the same thing that came up on google was on the Fronto leaf. And again if I didn’t like a product that I spent my hard working money on the least they could of done was give me my money back or exchange it for something with the same value with a product that I wanted.

Sold me a faulty downstem that wouldnt even fit in my water pipe and refused to refund or exchange. Took the same downstem to another smoke shop and they tried their own water pipes and it didnt even fit, proving the glass itself was faulty. Area 51 offered no help other than shrugging their shoulders. That experience alone let such a bad taste in my mouth that Ill definitely be making the extra 10 minute drive to Virginia Beach for a better smoke shop.Edit: changing review to 1 star after the reply from the owner. I took the same faulty piece to another glass store where they tried it in their own pieces and it didnt fit in a single piece. You sold a FAULTY downstem and wont take ownership for it. Get some quality control.

I bought an ooze blunt slider today. Came home and packed it and it shattered and I have been told I cannot bring it back. This is wrong. So be aware if you break your glass before you use it it is on you. They will not replace glass.

Customer service is terrible. Dont bother asking questions most of the people there dont have any clue what there selling and most of the staff is useless. Horrible expierence. Youll end up wasting Money on products you cant even use properly.

Great employees and great prices.. Hurry on in and join the area 51 point program to save cash on your future purchases.. After all who in their right mind dont like to save a little extra cash now and again?

Last week I purchased some replacement atomizers and went to change it today and 2 of the 5 I bought would not fire. I checked the serial number on the website and turns out they were fakes and called Area 51 where I bought them and the guy I think was Lenny told me to come in. He checked another pack and saw what I saw on the site then checked another pack and it was the real one. Needless to say he swapped all of them for me and got me back up and running and that is why I will always keep coming back to buy is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Bought a piece that was the wrong size tried to swap it out for the same product at same price just bigger an they refused to help or discount a new piece (Piece was clean brand new still in packing not broken or dirty/refused to exam it) and they told me there was nothing they could do when my home smoke shop would have swapped it out for the customer service, there were no (no return on glass signs either)...wont be spending a dime here again if things dont change

Great people, prices and inventory! I went to geat an ash catcher and found out it was bogo 51% off, ended up with an ash catcher a new hand pipe and i bought a $30 mystery bag that was well worth it. That came with a santa cruz shredder grinder another glass hand pipe, a silicone hand pipe and a couple of lighters roach clip 2 packs of blunts a new vape pen, a car charger and a new shatter container! Oh and did i mention i got 2 free raffle tickets for a very nice tall water pipe! Great place once again i am definitely going to refer everyone i know.
