Holistic Chinese Chair Massage

I am so, so grateful to have found James. I experience chronic back pain and frequently have issues with my neck, shoulders, ribs, and lower back after an injury several years ago. A few months ago, now, I was struggling with severe pain and nothing was working (including some heavy duty medication) when my parents suggested massage. I took a chance and went with James, simply because he was close to my work, and I am so, so glad I did. He was able to work out the issue and I felt much better.Then couple days ago, I started experiencing severe shoulder and arm pain, bad enough that I couldnt sleep, and my mom reminded me of my previous experience. We called the next morning and he was able to get me in first thing. And oh my goodness -- he was able to find the source of my pain and worked it out. It was a painful process and he was so attentive and kind throughout. I left feeling so much better.Its been two days since that massage, and I have to say that Im feeling better than I have in MONTHS -- not only did the massage take care of the acute pain, but over the past couple days, I discovered I have a much greater range of motion in my neck and shoulders, and I feel like a massive weight has been lifted off my upper back. I honestly hadnt realized just how much pain I was in, how *restrictive* that pain was, until it was gone. And now I know exactly where to go if it comes back.Now, if youre looking for a spa experience, this is probably not the place for you. The space is clean, comfortable, and *functional*. If I was looking for super luxurious, relaxing ambiance, with lots of oils and scents, I wouldnt chose here. And the price of this service reflects that.However, if you are looking for an extremely skilled and compassionate *Healer*, this IS the place. In my search for pain relief over the past decade, Ive had a lot of massages -- many different styles of massage, at different price points and environments, from different locations across the country. Ive had massage specifically for pain relief, massage from physical therapists. And James is, hands down, the most skilled masseuse Ive had. I would pay three times what he charges for the pain relief he provides.Accessibility note: Very limited accessibility -- rating on scale of 0-5 (0 meaning complete inaccessible, 5 being perfect accessibility), Id give it a 1.5. Inside is small and quite cramped, with narrow walkways and tight corners. Certainly couldnt navigate my walker through the building, but there are only a few steps from the door to the beds. The foot massage beds are typical for these acupressure foot massage places, with beds that are quite low to the ground; however, if you are getting a table massage, its more elevated.Additional note for fat customers! Many of yall have likely experienced massages from people who either didnt know or didnt *care* how to work with fat bodies, and made it clear from their demeanor that they didnt *want* to do so, either. Im tired of paying someone to painfully pinch my skin for an hour (especially if theyre going to treat me with disdain while doing so). Trust that this man knows what hes doing! Larger customers can expect both a good massage and respectful, kind treatment. (This should be expected, not extraordinary, but sadly thats not the world we live in.)

I stopped by today to check out the place, wanting to talk to them about the possibility of scheduling a weekly chair massage. When I stepped inside, a gentleman came from the back walking hurriedly waiving his hands saying, I am not available today. Instead of feeling welcome, I felt pushed out when he repeated still waiving his hands in the air, Not available today. He may not be aware that the first impression counts. Definitely not going back.

I love this place. He digs in deep and breaks up all the knots in my back, legs, feet and neck. Very reasonable cost too. Im sad I dont know his name, considering Ive been going to him for a few years!

Terrible. It says open at 10am but the place is still close and Only one therapist? What kind of business or services do they offer? Sigh.
