I really like how it looks inside, The guy that was inside telling everybody to clear out the hallways was really rude. I get that he needed the hallway clear but the way in which he was speaking to everyone was unnecessary, he was Very rude to everyone so I didn’t like that. It is extremely hot and they need to get some better AC or get some fans in there because it is extremely hot and that makes it uncomfortable but if they had some fans, it would’ve been perfect because honestly, it’s just a whole lot of up and down the stairs, trying to escape the heat, but there was no escape from the heat lol other than that I had a lovely time .

The owner seems pretty shameless about moving into a neighborhood with a ton of residential buildings and yet has the gut to blame longtime residents who complained about the late night blast. Just… be a decent bar owner and do something about the noise.

Yo!! The atmosphere was great! The service was Superior!! The owner was polite, respectful and welcoming to all comers! They kept top shelf alcohol and stock, and on top of that the food was delicious! (Did I mention it was vegan?)Yep, to my surprise, the meat...wasnt meat...and I didnt mind at all. (and I love meat) (said with a big smile on my face)The bar was in a different area than the dance floor, so there was plenty of space, and more than enough room to social distance. All in all, a great time, at a great spot!! I would recommend it to any and everybody. If you get a chance, be sure to check it out.

First time experience. The night was going well. Had a table upstairs. Purchased 6 bottles over $1000 worth of alcohol, We were upstairs dancing around the pool table & the manager of the night im just assuming. Came up to us told us to get out was extremely rude and extremely aggressive for no reason. A warning was never given just straight off the back was extremely rude and aggressive. I’ve heard negative reviews before but we still gave it a shot for a friends going away night out. Will not come back here.

Update: I was able to get the money back after swift action from the owners. They let me know they do not condone this behavior. Thank you for protecting your customers!!!************Original review below***********The bouncer outside (with a beanie and beard) scammed me for $20!! He initially told me it was $40 to get in. He then told me to send him $20 on cashapp so I did, thinking this was the cover. Then, I went inside and the lady at the front told me he shouldnt be charging me anything. He saw and came up to us saying that the charge wasnt him and he didnt ask for any money, and tried to start a fight to aggravate me. What a liar. Im now trying to get a refund for the $20.. he should have been fired on the spot. I wonder how many others he did this to.The name on the cashapp is MJ Butler $eyeslowbro. Beware of this security guard, hes just trying to hustle people he think he can prey on without realizing they will hold him accountable and take him to claims court if he refuses to refund.

Strike 1: its currently 1am on a Tuesday morning and theyre absolutely blasting music to everybody within a 4 block radius. Its like this place has anti-soundproof walls. If their goal is to give everybody in the hood Havana Syndrome, its working.Strike 2: its not even good music! You could get way better dance music at Crybaby, Somar, any other bar on Telegraph, Liege, the taco truck on Webster, any random house party, and the tent of that one guy who hangs out at 13th and Franklin.Strike 3: Somehow they made the worst possible idea of building this new club (Im counting it as new) in Chinatown. Its across the street from EBMUD. Barhopping doesnt exist here. Telegraph exists. Want drinks by Chinatown? Fort Green and Mad Oak are way better and wont cause your ears to bleed from DJ Mediocrity.

Don’t expect great service when they have a private party. The lounge is nice and could be great but the people running it can’t handle it.The Dj’s downstairs were horrible. 3 women behind the bar but only one which was running around was bartending. The owner wife decides to make my transaction after the bartender finally helps but walked passed me 3 times before I received help. Owner wife also loud cursing at the dj.Drinks lol expensive please drink before you get here. It’s a legal robbery. They use to have dancers here but looks like that’s over. If they happen to show up know that they are not too friendly and you have to approach them. A lot also have favorites they will stay around them even when money in flowing elsewhere.This place is the definition of bougie ghetto.

Not much parking. Cool looking place. Nice bar. Small place. Leaking ceiling near the bar? Staff was friendly. Dj hit or miss. Overpriced drinks & hookah is cool. Upstairs is reserved for bottle service only with an entire different dj and no bar upstairs. Overall nice vibe, and friendly people. (Went on a Saturday night)

Super noisy all nights from 6pm to 3am on every single Friday and Saturday. Easily hear it from hundreds of yards away even with windows shut. It ruins weekend sleep for the residents in the surrounding blocks. My family can’t get to sleep because of the noise from this club.

LUX is in constant violation of the city of Oakland noise abatement ordinance. The City of Oakland has a noise ordinance that prohibits “excessive and annoying noise” between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. OAKLAND, CAL., MUN. CODE §§ 8.18. 010–8.18All attempts to contact the Owner by phone and email have been unsuccessful. In response to the owners posted comments about people shouldnt move into an area with a club in it. It is LUX that is the newcomer in our neighborhood and clearly has no respect for it.As LUX is unwilling to obey the law and simply keep the noise inside after 11pm (We get it....LUX ts a club , nobody expects it to be a library) But get the noise off the street after 11 and show some common courtesy to your neighbors)A formal complaint with CA alcohol licensing commission is being circulated around the neighborhood. LUX can avoid this by simply acting responsibly.

Over 2 hours and still waiting for a so called VIP Bottle service. Alreadypaud and signed for $300. They reallt need to be better organized and need new training for the staff. Service so far, is horrible

Waited 45 minutes for doordash order and they cancelled because they were busy with a private party. Walked away hungry. Not even a coupon or nothing to compensate me for wasted time.

Jo is my favorite bartender here. Very friendly and makes a good drink! It seems like she helps the other bartenders out a lot too.

Lux is an awesome place. They have great music, great drinks and the crowd is always live
