A good place for quick food 🥘 and drink 🍺 .. right next to boardwalk . I really liked the ambience inside. … there was music and loved the colors inside . Lots of space to sit / relax and have some food/ drink. Service was good . Not much of beer options though .. not much on draft … they had bottles . Overall a good experience 👍👍

I googled gay bars in Ocean City and this bar popped up. I thought I would give it a try to see what it was like. Its on the boardwalk near a few other bars which are exciting and I was eager to see what this place offered. I was incredibly disappointed and downright upset at my experience. It was my first time and I will probably never set foot or recommend this bar to anyone.There was a $10.00 cover, which is reasonable for a bar. I gladly paid the entrance fee and was able to with my card, no issue. The bar was a fully stocked bar with, in my opinion, reasonably priced drinks. The lines moved quickly and the bartenders were friendly.The reason I had a bad experience is that I was standing in front of the stage listening and jamming out alone, and not bothering anyone. At one point, I guess being the loner, I had a bouncer come up to me and tell me I was being asked to leave because I was bothering people. I hadnt had a single conversation with anyone and was shocked. I didnt even bother with asking as it was quite clear this visitor from out of state (Florida) was clearly unwelcome in a rather welcoming environment.It was obvious I was alone and the rest of the bar was full of people who were together. So I dare say, if you are alone and want to just enjoy some time alone, maybe see the local scene and enjoy a drink, bring a friend. You are not welcome alone, and if you are part of the LGBT+ community, go elsewhere. This place is the complete opposite and not worth the time.

Right on the boardwalk it made for an easy addition to our bar crawl. Easy in and easy out...and the place was packed. Great atmosphere, and good people. Had a blast while there. Pricing was affordable and service was prompt. Good selection, and good snacks. We had a round of bottled beer and it was in the 20s price wise. Didnt try to bloody mary but heard all about it. We will have to the next time around!

Located right on the boardwalk, this is an oasis sitting off of the beach. Famous for their Bloody Mary, but plenty of cold beers, ciders, and seltzer type beverages available in many, varieties. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and they have live entertainment....check their schedule. The staff are great and go out of their way to ensure you have an awesome experience. Check out the t-shirts and souvenirs, they are pretty cool. Highly recommend giving them a try!!!

We went in around 8pm. Got a seat at the bar.The bartenders on were absolutely amazing. Hustlers and aware of customers. Good to see people that really want to make their customers feel welcomed and satisfied.

Great dive bar, one of our favorite places in Ocmd. Service is always fantastic. We make sure we stop in for a drink when we are down there. The dirty banana is amazing!

The place has been around a long time. Its nice to still have a venue at the beach to go see bands play still. The drinks are good, the beer is cold, and shots come a plenty. Prices are a bit high for drinks, but its at the beach. The negative of the place is the smell. It is very musty smelling in there and gets worse every year. This last time I was in was off-putting. Couldnt stay long due to it. Still a fun bar on the boardwalk though.

What a great bar with lots of character...and characters! Some awesome selections in their beer case and live music at night. Worth stopping in for a beer if youre near it

The purple moose was a reccomended stop along the board walk! The pinacolada was probably the best Ive ever had. We loved the advertising for the vodka redbulls everywhere, so we had one of those too. Our bartender was friendly and readily available for service.

It is located on broadwalk with no cover charge except $5 I paid when they have a band. Drinks are around $7 to $10 each. They have a good DJ when band is not there at nights offering top 40. So dance your night out. Only reason I gave them 3 stars because owner is rude and made me pay cover twice because I went out to consume food (slice of pizza) next door and he does not trust his own employees word. But place is good and will go there again.

Great place to stop on the boardwalk! They have liquor and really cold beer but theres no food service here! You can grab a bag of chips or snap into a slim Jim if youre starving though! Big roomy place, they have a stage for live music and they have really cool t-shirts and long sleeve tees! Definitely worth the stop!

They make it seem like its an inconvenience for you spend your money there. Charging a cover at 7:00 pm when the band doesnt start till 10:00 and the place is dead seems off. A high noon was $9.00? I wanted to like the place and gave it a few chances but the vibes are off. Ill stick to the other local bars on the boarwalk.

It was a fun atmosphere. A social atmosphere, music, dj, people and fun on Ocean City boardwalk. They only serve alcoholic beverages here and beverages to accommodate alcoholic beverages. However, you are able to order food and have it delivered there or byob.

They have great music provided by their DJ or one of the many live cover bands that perform there, a dance floor, no to low cover, located right on the boardwalk, amazing drinks (Im partial to the oh so tasty Bloody Marys) with several bartenders to cover their main and back bars. They also have keno and scratchoffs, t-shirts available at souvenir counter, watch sports on their TVs, and a friendly staff. Its an all around comfortable and fun environment for the local regulars as well as the first time or recurring seasonal visitors.

Fun bar right on the boardwalk. It was packed. Several bars with good service. Drink prices were the usual for OC. $10 cover charge on Saturday night. The band, Trip Wire, was excellent. Long lines for the ladies room. People were fun and friendly. No bar fights.

I saw the band Pop Stereo at the saloon and had the most fun I’ve ever had at the saloon. Wes was the absolute best bartender accompanied with a great live band. I wasn’t expecting a winter performer to be so great. The lead singer blew it out of the park and the band sounded great. I would return every weekend with this band and this amazing bartender. Thank you Purple Moose for a great winter get away (better than the summer bands, seriously!!)

Easily the most fun youll have at any bar in OC for way less money

Saw Doc 2 nights in a row while on vacation. I loved the whole experience. Been to the beach plenty, but never an experience like this. Doc was the best band, we had the best service from all staff. LOVE this place!

Very big bar on the boardwalk. Plenty of seating. Clean. Live bands or Djs almost every night. Decent selection of beer. Friendly staff. Club atmosphere.

Very unique bar. Great vibes. Amazing drinks. Staff is absolutely amazing highly reccomend the purple Modi and deep purple lemonade. Would definitely rate higher if I could.

Went on March 11th to celebrate St. Patricks Day weekend! Went with my mom and grandma. My mom, who never has fun. Haha, she had the time of her life and danced all night! The DJ and band were amazing 👏

Nothing but Great things to say about this place. We went in to have a beer we ended up staying for 3-4 hours. The whole place is Awesome. The place is Huge. The bar goes around the whole place. The lights are Awesome. It was Wednesday night so they had a DJ spinning some great music and the system sounds so good. I ended up buying a very nice shirt. If you are looking for some Great times Excellent Drinks, and a Lifetime of Great Memorys. Then whenever you are in Ocean City the Purple Moose is a Must go to place. We will Definitely Be Back!!

This is a pretty fun spot with a nice bar, dance floor, and plenty of live music. I love dancing here. Oh the purple moose on the wall is awesome too haha.On off season, they let us bring our puppies in!One of my favorite bars in OC.

Be careful when you are paying by your card, cuz they might charge a tip without your permission. It happened to me, I was checking my bank account and i’ve just realised that they tipped themselves with a generous ammount of 62$. I’ve asked them for the receipt two days after that and it can be seen the different pen and writing.

We went to the Purple Moose on vacation , this was our first time in with my in laws. We had a blast with the various drinks. They have a great lineup of cover bands scheduled for the season.

Great place. You wont find a lot of woke attitudes in this place.

Fun bar. They do ID so make sure you have tour license out no entry. Friendly staff. We were there during bike week for a live band. No fights. No beer bottles laying e everywhere. Clean. Nice stage for bands.

Also just visited here for the first time and it was great, the band social that was playing last night kinda left something to be desired. But overall the staff was great, got to watch a guy get the cops called because he didn’t wanna pay his tab. But in the end he paid….

The doorman was very rude stop me at the door and told me I couldnt come in I asked him why he mentioned very carefully because it was a private party so I turned back around act one of the latest work that and said no that was a lie only I need to do is pay $5 to get in now due to the fact this was a black man on talking to another black man I honestly dont think he wanted me in there yes at Ocean City Im going to send you a picture of this.

The band was great! Thats probably the only thing I enjoyed really! I got yelled at by the staff security for pulling my husband to the side to talk to him because he couldnt hear what I was saying cause the music was loud as it is a club at night and my husband is partially deaf! I guess they thought I was going to take him to the back. Kind of offended by that cause I wasnt even going to the back nor would I do that there. I have standards lol 😆 🙃.

This is an Ocean City staple. Service was top notch. The live band was incredible and played 4 sets. They did a little bit of everything and their stage presence was very entertaining.

Although the music was good and service relatively fast I would not recommend this place as upon arrival my husband and I ordered drinks and the server came back stating he would open a tab but couldn’t take the card as something about fraud. Concerned while there check our bank statement to show the serve had tried to change $50, luckily this was caught by the bank and flagged as fraud, that same server never stopped by to check on us once this happened. Got our check from a different server and left. I guess they are used to intoxicated bar goers that may not notice an extra $50 charge…. Regardless would not recommend on that experience, unless you want to pay $50 for nothing

Fun place, good drinks. Its a bit pricey, but you pay for location and atmosphere.

We stopped in this establishment while checking out the boardwalk one night, and are so glad we did! The bartenders were the best; so attentive and friendly to everyone. The next time were passing through OC, we will definitely visit again!

Stumbled upon this bar and couldn’t resist going back for the next few days. Awesome environment, Bobby running a superb staff, McKenzie serving up awesome drinks. Live DJS and bands, they got it all. Left with some awesome T shirts to remember

I’m so disappointed. I understand there are underage kids trying to get into your bar. But clearly you’ve lost sight of how to treat your guests. I am 23 and from NY I got denied entry from two bouncers at this place who clearly have no idea what they’re doing. I heard such great things about this place. That left a bad taste in my mouth!When you’re willing to drop a few hundred on drinks at a place and they treat you like a child it’s a quite a mood killer!

My family and I went to Ocean City for vacation. My fiance suggested we stop in this bar for a drink and we instantly fell in love with the atmosphere. The service was amazing too, the bartender was very kind and quick. I wish we lived there in Maryland, wed be at this bar a lot!

Its just ok. They always have bands, which is cool, but when you pay a cover for a meh band, its not that exciting. The last time we were there, the dance floor was packed when the band took a break....once the band played again it was pretty much the same 4 people out there. Then they were so loud you couldnt talk to the other people in the crowd who were also not really feeling it.The decor is just dark with no real vibe. Its carpeted. The bathrooms are very institutional.Its accessible from the boardwalk, so that is a major bonus.

Met some family, during a mini family reunion at the Purple Moose Saloon Had a great time. Although I grew up here in the DC area, I had never had a drink at the purple moose!Glad I finally got there!I A must stop at an OC LandmarkI’ll be back 👍

This place is big. Has some games like pinball. Large dance floor. Amazing DJ dutchess and live music Social was great. So much fun. The bartenders are awesome great quick service. Cool atmosphere. Really enjoyed it. Definitely be back.

I have been here three times now and do not remember leaving a single time. I really do recommend this place to all my friends i thought it was an old people bar but i was wrong. I have not tried any food here but I’m sure it is delicious. If you go on a Wednesday night you will have the time of your life its like a club in Europe especially because half the people going speak other languages you really feel like you’re in another country.

I have been here several times and have enjoyed myself, until last night. The band I follow was playing there, so my friends and I went. Although the bartenders were tentative, they overcharged me with 3 extra drinks that I did not order. I asked the bartender but he just shrugged and said I dont know. At one point they could not find my name as I had an open bar tab and so I probably got stuck with another customers drinks. I am very disappointed on how it was handled. I will not be going back anytime soon. I would not recommend an open bar tab. Pay by drink.

This place is epic! We went twice during our visit. Once in the afternoon, it was pretty chill. Nice place to get a drink. Once in the evening, it was wild! Music was great. Drinks were great. This place is super fun. If you are looking for a unpretentious bar, this is it!

I’ve been here plenty of times and I think this time was probably the worst. Everyone working there acts as if they don’t really want to be there. The thing that stood out the most was the smell inside. I can’t quite describe it but the fact that there’s carpet lining the wall off the bar as well as all through out the bar I’m sure you can probably imagine the smell. Ultimately, it needs an upgrade/overhaul.

Long live the MOOSE! Some of the other OC spots are way over hyped & expensive. Simple concept...walk in, grab a drink & walk right up to the band & party! The sound system in there is plenty bangin & clear. Sound guy is great...last week after a bassist had his amp go out, the sound guy hooked him up...had him go direct into the board & had him right back in action. DJ between band breaks is also great...does some fun remixes. PM is plenty big & open to move through, along with plenty of bars & great staff. So cool to slide right off the boardwalk into this gem.

Drink prices are shamefully expensive and lacking liquor. Atmosphere is dark and not so inviting. Music is good. Small dance floor area. Staff was oddly unfriendly. When I enter a bar where they charge $8. for a lousy fruit shot, I expect to feel somewhat welcomed for my patronage there. The bar Staff was inattentive and seemed more focused on looking good than making guests feel good about spending their money there. I wouldnt go back to this place nor can I recommend it. The only cool thing about it is their name.

Didnt have any of the food.Atmosphere was good.What was disappointing was the maybe .5oz? shot of whiskey in my whiskey ginger drink... like if I wanted a ginger ale, I would have just ordered a ginger ale.Beer service was good, but it was expensive for a weak cocktail.

The Moose has been around since 1975... Its Marylands version of CBGBs... Its dark, dank, divey, has cold drinks, and live Rock n Roll right on the boardwalk.

Lots of fun. The band on 3/11 was awesome. The DJs were great.Definitely needed the ladies room to have all stalls working to ease the long line for access.

Sat in the Biergarten. Service there was a little different but the bartender explained everything and was super helpful. Wish I remember his name but he had a blonde slicked back haircut.Had the jerk chicken, it was great!

Stopped in to get lottery tickets and heard some dancing music. Went inside sat at bar, met Wes the bar tenders, come to find out, he grew up in Baltimore,near where I live now. Made me a drink called the right snatch, it was delicious. Then live band came on, it was a really 😎 atmosphere. Will be back.

Im a dive bar guy and no offense but this place was just not it. Dark and musty. Orange Crushes were overly sweet and tasted cheap. Bartender was nice and attentive.

Fun bar on the boardwalk. Been around forever and never really changes, I’m okay with that. Floors are a bit sticky and feels slightly like a dive bar. The staff is awesome and I loved that they had the Nascar race on Sunday! It’s a cool spot to grab a beer on a drinking tour.

My wife and I have made The Moose a part of our lives for over 25 years. We have made many friends there and enjoyed some great bands over the years. This style of bar is so much fun. Built during the days of the Rock Bar with its raised stage and killer sound system. The Moose continues that tradition. With the guidance of its new owner Bobby. The bar is getting a facelift and update to keep it relevant for many years to come. Your OC trip wont be complete without stopping by. Best bartenders in Ocean City and with its state of the art new sound system you wont be disappointed!

Drinks were decently priced but too sweet and not very strong. Had a live band playing that was entertaining (only thing I enjoyed). Bathroom was clean and plenty of stalls/urinals. Would come again if with friends but would definitely pregame first

Was here on Easter Sunday after a stroll on the board walk. RJ took care of us and served up some great drinks. Fun atmosphere and friendly staff!

DJ rocked it. Alter ego on the other hand well the instrumentalist were very good wolverine got 3 songs right. The one he did after Duran Duran and Flock of seagulls. Sorry cant remember the other one. You need to listen to your 70s and 80s music a bit better.

Loved this place, good crowd every night, band was great, DJ was great every night, Brian was easy to talk to and great guy. Would come back any day. Kept me there all night😬🤣

Drinks were a bit pricey but that is understandable being by the beach. Staff was friendly and security guards were on top of their job. Great atmosphere with the people and drinks.

Giving it a few days before calling them or my bank. Went there for Memorial Day weekend. I had 4 lagers, wife had 3 mixed drinks. Looked at my account there are 6 seperate $100 pending charges. Bartenders were more interested in each other than checking up on customers. Phones out showing each other pics or whatever. Maybe it wasnt the case but thats how it looked. Doubt Ill be going back. Used to be a good place a few years back. Was our go to after a nice walk on the boardwalk.

Excellent drinks great staff. And they sell tee shirts and other merchandise. They have live music and dancing. Large selection of beer and we really enjoyed the Purple Mutherfers ( believe it or not its a drink) and it tastes like grape koolaid.

Was there for my first time for my 21st birthday (5/4/19 into 5/5/19). It was absolutely amazing. The band was amazing, the one bartender that we kept going to knew what we wanted as soon as he saw us walkong over, it was crowed but not too crowded. Really really happy with this place and will be back next year.

Love Purple Moose Saloon (PMS). Always a great place to listen to live bands. Drinks are at average price, no food to order so eat before you go. Have been here 2 times this summer. Always a good time.

No food here. Just a great bar/nightclub. Bartenders are top notch. Band every weekend.You have got to stop in when in OCMD.

My Girlfriends and I came to OCMD for a trip and found Purple moose saloon and we had a Great time. We spent our remaining 2 nights of our vacation there and the drinks were good. I personally really enjoyed the strawberry daiquiri slushy. Next year when we visit OCMD again we will definitely be back 🙂

Went to a cowboy bar watched people ride a bull went to the Purple Moose Saloon listen to a great band.. hung out and danced it felt good just to let our hair down... Thank You Laura.... I came here once with my boyfriend and had a good time, we only had one drink because we were taking a afternoon stroll, its conveniently on the boardwalk and the lady behind the bar was very nice. The second time I went this past weekend with my friends, the bartender, I believe his name was Brian was very rude towards me about getting a drink, which was going to be my first drink. I ended up not getting a drink and walking out of the bar. I spoke with the manager on duty at the time and he listened which was respectable, but it seemed like he really could care less about the complaint. I will not be back again.

Good place on Boardwalk to take a break and cool down, on.a hot day, with a cool drink. Friendly bartenders, sociable customers, good service. This is a boardwalk bar, so atmosphere and view is god, but expect plastic cup cocktails and higher prices.

This is the best bar in ocean City. NO other bar even comes close. The music is nice, the atmosphere is fun, and most importantly the drinks are both fantastic and reasonably priced. Every trip to OCMD Is incomplete till you party at the Purple Moose Friday and Saturday !!! 🥳

We came in after dinner and a little bar hopping after our wedding.. AMAZING! We had soooooo much fun. Our bartender was so much fun, the band The Lava Game was awesome, and we had a BLAST! Highly recommend, we cant wait to go back!

Going to this bar is a OC tradition from when my parents were young and is nice, air conditioned spot to get a drink. Service is decent too. Only giving it a three because of the restrooms and the drinks are so-so. This place gives off a dive bar feel and when Im on vacation, I want something a little nicer.

Couldnt really rate the food,we only had beverages,and a good time.Staff was great atmosphere was rocking.

Unfortunately, our experience was not pleasant.as soon as we entered, the security asked for our identification documents. I am an immigrant and I presented my passport. My husband and our couple of friends presented their drivers licenses. the security guard looked at the page with my information and asked if my passport held a valid visa. It was very uncomfortable, he had no right to question me about something so intimate, regardless of my status. My advice is that if employees are interested in someones immigration status, they should look for an immigration work position.

Great bar on the boardwalk, would of gave 5 stars, but could use friendlier bartenders. My particular bartender didnt seem like she wanted to be there at all. Just going through the motions it seemed.

August 2nd, 1:00AM, my wife and I came for a drink and been stopped by an aggressive door keeper. He was so rude and almost been violent. He looked for a reason not to let us in, so we simply took our ID cards and left to drink in other bars. BRASS BALL SALOON and THE BEARDED CLAM (I recommend you both bars) were great bars to sit in and enjoy beer and music instead this awful place with employees with attitude like this S-HOLE have. Gladly spent my top dollars elsewhere. Im here in Ocean City Maryland for 5 days, I will try all the bars on the boardwalk while my foot wont step in this bar. Make yourself a favor and enjoy your time elsewhere, dont let the door keeper here to ruin your evening.

Great atmosphere, great food and the staff is very down to earth. The bartenders were the best though. They kept me laughingands drinking. I really enjoyed my time there so i went back the next day.

Not really a great bar, kind of a dive spot honestly. Staff was not super friendly and neither was the crowd. Just a place to get drinks if you have no other spots to pick or just need some AC after a long day at the beach. Space is very dark and the decor is very outdated. Plus the bathrooms are pretty gross. Not really recommended in the slightest.

Update below!3 Years ago: The bartender asked us to move away from the the bar area even though there was plenty of seating available. The bartender then welcomed a group of his friends, possibly locals, to sit in the area that we were denied.Update:I had forgotten about the way we were treated 3 years ago and I again entered this poor excuse for a bar. My son-in-laws (around 40) and I (64) were carded as we entered the bar, which is complete bulls$hit. My son-in-laws license had expired so they denied him entry into the place. There are way too many great bars in Ocean City. Dont waste your money or time on the dumba$$s that run this place!

This is a great place to drink on the board walk but the fact that they STILL have carpet in a bar is GROSS! I literally walked out of my shoe and had to go back for it. Just replace the carpet with floors, y’all can def afford it!

Visited for the first time in years and it hasnt changed a bit, for good or for bad. I love the Rock Bar atmosphere and watching people on the boards. Still smells like Hammerjacks... My wife refused to eat there.

After a fun night out we woke up to me and my friend both being charged near $100 each, for a total of 4 drinks and 4 shots. Fun place to hang out, but overcharged, for a place that’s already overpriced.

Our first time to this location and it was excellent. As far as located right off the boardwalk and though we were not able to purchase food there directly we could get outside places to deliver there.Our bartender Jude was amazing, remembered what we drink and checked on us enough with the right intervals for us not to feel harassed, but taken care of.

After almost 40 years, it still has the same funky atmosphere. Drunks passing out on the bar before noon. Good people running the place. Smoking right outside the door on the concrete, off the BOARDWALK, a ticket waiting to happen (tickets in O.C. come with a beating)

My 19 year old daughter back at ocean 1 hotel told me to go have fun on my own for once, close by went to purple moose was there for alittle bit didnt know anyone Im very shy😊, a worker there dont know his name?? Was really cool and respectful, listened to me rant about this woman that wanted to fight me when I walked in for asking her man where the line was to get alcohol 😂😂😂 other than that a fun place and great entertainment.... 💯

The most unexpected gem on the boardwalk!Dubbed by our group as the black hole because you’re not sure what to expect when you get in there. The answer is good drinks and fun dance music. Services is fast and the drinks are well made. The DJs that spin there use a variety of music. It’s truly a perfect combination for a good time.

Loved this bar! Retro feel, reminded me of the bars from home. Our bartender was amazing, super helpful. Only downfall is no kitchen here, but the bartender had menus for places nearby that would deliver to us right at the bar.

Not bad, but its a overrated and overpriced bar basically. The Bloody Mary was fair.

The Purple Moose is one of the best places to see live music on the Boardwalk. The Bloody Mary is great and be sure to try a Rum Runner. There isnt anything better than stopping in for a cold beer and getting in some AC on a hot day. Its always one of go to places when Im in Ocean City.

Good location if you want a drink while walking the boardwalk or want to get away from the family for a few minutes while your on the beach. Prices are a little high but thats because its a bar on the boardwalk but there mixed drinks are not strong at all. I couldnt taste the liquor

Fun place on the boardwalk that often has live music. The place truly is “purple” in the sense that there is purple lighting throughout. Gets very crowded on Friday and Saturday which can make it hard to order drinks.

The purple moose drinks for Price nicely unfortunately for such a big place they serve no food at all. The music and the crowd was very live definitely a nice chill spot to go to if in Ocean City.

My favorite bar in OC, super cool people. Bar tenders dude at the door , lady who sold me a shirt. Their AC is legit and not bright like a grocery store. This place is a bar, a good one.

Great place to stop in and have a drink on Thanksgiving. Weve done it two years in a row, plus we met some new friends. The best part of the place is the owner (dont know his name) and Omar the bartender. The owner generously sold us his Moose in a Can which we are so happy to have! Omar is a great and cheerful bartender. Is his name really Omar?

I love the Purple Moose!!! I go every time I go to OC. Bobby & his crew are all amazing!!! The Purple Moose has been around for years!!! I remember always wanting to go there when I was younger because I wanted a purple moose stuffed animal, that they do sell there, after my 21st bday I went there with my aunt for the very first time & got my moose & had my first Purple Motherfer. Great drink!!!

From the moment we took a seat we were welcomed by a truly entertaining bartender who served up great drinks and conversation. I recommend the Purple Moose Saloon! 😉 Have a great time!

Looking for live bands and decent music then this is one of the better places in OC. The bar lighting is on the darker side which helps you relax and enjoy the drinks, which are fairly reasonable priced for a tourist bar. The signature drink tasted like cough syrup. A dance floor in the back keeps the atmosphere lively.

We love the Moose! Ocean citys beer joint on the boardwalk. They serve no food, unless you count bags of Utz potato chips and candy bars food. Here its all about the beer and the music. Its all about rock and roll here, and theres no drafts just bottles and cans. They have a full bar, to be sure, but its still a beer joint. If you are in the mood to party, you will have fun at the Purple Moose. All the bartenders are fun and friendly. If you go when the bands are playing on weekend nights, and weeknights in the summer, bring your earplugs! They bring the rockiest of the rock bands in there.

This place is great except charging $6.50 for a domestic bottle and the DJ playing loud music so loud that you cant have a conversation. Not impressed. Expensive tshirts too. No thanks.

First time there this year 2022 was very nice.

One of the boardwalks most busy bars. The DJ was awful, but played old hits that made some people dance. He didnt know how to mix songs though. That was terrible. Great selection of beers and cocktails. Nice big dancefloor. Indoor decor kind of looks like a stripclub though.

Its your typical beach bar. If you want to have a drink around that part of the boardwalk, you only have a few choices. Personally I would walk a few blocks off the boardwalk and goto one of the local bars instead. It wasnt bad but it was what it was.

Great place. Had a lot of fun here. They have a DJ nightly and good music. Nitelife here is probably best in OC. But beware.. dont move the stools. My bro moved a stool 3 feet and a staff member didntike that and had us all ejected from the bar. Must of had a bad day od something. Besides that, great place.

Open till four on Sundays (off season) and not very busy during this time of year. Still a great place to have an adult beverage. Manager is friendly and attentive to your needs. This place totally rocks in season.

Its a dive. It smells like a college bar. The bouncers/doormen are welcoming. The band Dead Eye Stare was awesome!!! I wish we could have stayed longer. We all had fun.

Saw the band Tripwire on a Friday night. There was a $10 and drinks were priced okay compared to other locations. You are right on the boardwalk so the location is ideal. It was a fun night out.

Exactly as I remembered it, with exception of Garys passing 💛 the place was packed - the bouncers were friendly and courteous and the band was AWESOME!

I love this place, everytime I visit OCMD with my husband we stop in to say hi to the staff and have our drinks, the best place on the boardwalk no question about it. Staff friendly as f%#$, LOVE. LOVE, LOVE IT. Drop on in u 2 will LOVE it.

As an older patron, I enjoy the older crowd! Definitely not the rowdy place it was in the 70s and 80s. It appears to be older people such as myself enjoying reminisces about our younger days. A must stop everytime Im in OC!!

Staff was awesome! They made the wait to get in easy. The drinks were great too. I cant wait to go again when the Covid 19 restrictions are lifted.

What you would think it is, a t-shirt store that sells drinks. Cool atmosphere if you are an aging OC veteran like me looking for a bar with loud music and below average orange crushes. I gave it an extra star, just because its the Moose. I have seen the t-shirts since the 80s.

We ordered top shelf whiskey and that is not what we were served. You may want to go for the music but dont go for the drinks!

Not your average bar. Why? Because they have no draft beer. Only bottled beer. So, big let down. Only thing distinguishable is that you can buy lottery tickets next to the bar... for some reason. Bartender was cool, beer was over priced. A big old MEH, WONT BE BACK from me.

Not good at all. I really didnt want to stay once I got to the room but it was paid for and I didnt think a different room would have helped things. I knew I was in trouble when I was checking in and the girl at the desk asked me if I was staying the entire night. 2 lights in the entire Room, 3 if you count the bathroom light. Tub was slow draining so as I took a shower the bath tub started to fill up. No outlets in the bathroom so I couldnt even charge my electric razor. I mean what if someone needed a place to plug in a hair dryer?? The whole place felt extremely shady. The whole place is on one floor. After 8 oclock someone kept on walking past my window and whistling, I could only assume it was a drug dealer.

As always great drinks and great music. The live bands are usually quite good. Well worth the small cover charge during those bands dates.

BAD EXPERIENCE!!! very bad service of the barman, we were drinking some beers and when we would leave the bar we wanted give the TIP. But this guy spoke us so rude because of that.So we left and went to GUIDOS BURRITOS and it was an amazing service.

Asked for a stronger drink to which the bartender (without missing a beat) dumped the drink and made a new one and handed that to me and telling me that it was weaker.... Bro, Ill take the stronger drink then. Idk how anyone would think that a weaker drink is the answer to a weak drink but idk. We tried to complain and the manager wanted nothing to do with it. In fact, he dismissed our concerns completely.Long story short, as long as youre the person who can be ok with anything or any kind of Service (good or bad) this is the place for you.PS if your customer is walking out holding the finger at you, MAYBE you might have ACTUALLY been in the wrong.

Ive walked this boardwalk many times and I bump into friends in this bar most often. Im from the area and have gone to the Purple Moose for years. Its a staple on the Ocean City, MD, boardwalk. Good beer selection, rock and roll, busy hang out, etc.

I love the funny drink names. Neat atmosphere and some cool bartenders. Tends to be little chilly but its always a fun spot on the boardwalk to grab a drink!

Came from NY to OC for H2oi. Not a spot I would usually go to but it was actually pretty nice environment. Good selection of beer although I couldnt even get a second drink bc the bartender kept walking by me after I called him and held out money, wasnt even that busy but whatever Really just wanted a drink
