Chill Bar

I was visiting for the weekend. I was there on Friday 7/5/2024 the music was really good. The bartenders and staff are extremely rude. They all have this attitude. It’s crazy one of the Bartenders a Caucasian male with a full set Beard ended up taking one of the drunk customer home after his shift. That’s a very unprofessional to have employees sleeping around with people who show up to the bar. there’s no restroom attendance and there’s people hooking up in the stalls taking forever while there’s girls that have to use to the restrooms. I rather go to hunters. The staff there are way nicer and welcoming especially the security guards they’re not rude D heads they both open the door for you and make you feel welcome.

What a fun place. We came for the evening drag show and Mayhem Miller was the MC. A great show! The waiters were fun and very attentive to our group.The show was pretty consistently entertaining. There were a couple of performers that really stood out from the pack and they made the show so much fun!The crowd was very engaged and made it even more entertaining. We had a birthday celebration going on in our group and were escorted on stage for some Q&A and shots. Birthday girl had a great time!! I would say that a great time was had by all. A fun place and a great show.We stayed after for a while as we heard there would be a DJ and music with dancing. It was awkward as the dancing was just around the bar area, no real dance floor. We ended up leaving and moving to there bars in the area. Chill did have the best music by far.

I had a fantastic time doing happy hour at chill bar. The dance area in the back is all age friendly so don’t worry if you’re 40’s, 50’s or you used to brunch with Carol Channing. All are welcome.The drinks are strong and bar staff is friendly. Definitely worth a stop when in Palm Springs.

I was visiting California for a time and decided to go to Palm Springs, went to this bar twice, never had a problem.The third time in a Friday night the security guard created problems to accept my ID because it was from other country.Really? In touristic city like Palm Springs, in a state like California full of immigrants and tourists you only can accept american ID?Never go back again and don’t recommend if you are tourist from a South American country cause it seems like we are not welcome at this place.

Nice clean club, one good bartender who gives good service. I wish they would switch up the music on the weekends. The music feels more like one mashup of trans music is being played.

After a not so great experience at a nearby bar, we went here to liven up the night, and we were not disappointed! Fun atmosphere, music, and affordable drinks. Thanks for a fun time! 🕺🏻🪩

Is a good place to dance and let loose, drinks areOK, not too strong but go easy, and people are friendly. The bathroom situation is a bit different, as they do not have assigned gender, and that can be uncomfortable for many guests. The outside patio is nice to looke a the hot people walking by.

Indifferent bar staff. It took 15 minutes to order a drink and the place was nearly empty.I hear how service workers feel under appreciated. But with attitudes like there’s it will only get worse.What happened to good service ? Its not an art. You can learn it. It ultimately reflects on weak management

Bartender tried to charge $125 tip to my card without my authorization! I cannot believe this! Thankfully my bank caught it and I was able to deny the charge at 12:30am! I am a local and for this establishment to do this is not right.

My husband and I have attended Chill bar for 13 years with no issues. Today we experienced the most inconsiderate bartender ever(Giovanni) . We showed our IDs to get in per usual. I keep my husbands wallet and mine in my bag as always, and proceeded to the bathroom. My husband was asked for his ID again by the bartender, which was no issue. He told the bartender that he would have to wait for me to come out of the bathroom to show his ID a SECOND time as requested by staff (Sabrina and George). I came out with both our IDs in hand and I was told that I could only be served, not my husband. I asked why, the bartender did not give a reason. He then stated my husband didn’t provide proper identification. and other bartenders (George and Sabrina) I stated I had both our wallets after showing both IDs at the entrance. He said he could only serve me. I proceeded to order my drinks and the bartender was unnecessarily rude, and told me I could only order 1 drink at a time regardless of being there with 6+ friends. As Valley natives and long time patrons of Chill, this is absolutely unacceptable. He told us that we are just customers, the management would believe him over us because he was an employee. Please do not order from Giovanni he was really rude and disrespectful.

Drag Brunch was so much fun with Ongina as the host 🤩 I will have to mention the Chicken and Waffles were one of the best I have ever had. Let me know what you think of it too

We went here on a Friday night and it wasnt that busy surprisingly. Apparently its offseason in Palm Springs. Its cool that they have a whole back room as well. There were a lot more females here than I expected.

Great gay bar in Palm Springs. Fun bartenders and gay crowd. They need to work on keeping it gay otherwise they’ll end up like hunters that got ruined by awful bachelorette parties.

The name says it all, this is a chill bar!I love a clean bar, even better I love a bar that can actually make an old fashioned that doesnt taste and look like something served at a high school prom.I prefer outdoor seating, as long as its comfortable and pleasant, this bar checks that box with a bonus, they also have a smoking section out there. Pull up a chair, have a well-made stiff drink with a stogie on the patio, thats how I like to end the day!

So yall accept picture id on some nights and not on others.. ok be consistent with your policy? On quiet night youre desperate to have people in but then the next you dont allow itEdit: to reply to response.. my friend did have photo id but was denied because he didn’t have a physical copy. Our whole group left because of that. The night before however photo id was allowed so he was allowed in. That is what is annoying, the inconsistency.

Went for the Sunday brunch show and it was amazing! Reasonably priced bottomless mimosas. Great food, even better show 🫶🏼 I had the waffles and they were delicious!

Fun bar. It was my first time, but based on other photos online it looks like they might have remolded recently. The staff were nice, they had a few gogo dancers, and the drink was strong. They had a separate dance floor that wasn’t open the night I went.Compared to some of the other bars on the block I’d say Chill Bar mostly gets the 20-30’s crowd, and those looking to dance with their friends or be seen.

I had one drink at this bar my tab was only $8. To my surprise my bank called me and said that I had $119 hold on my card that I did not make. I had to be without a card or money for the rest of my vacation because of this issue. I will not recommend this bar to anyone!

Had an amazing time at the Sunday drag brunch. I got the chilaquiles which was seasoned well. The performers were amazing to watch and it was a very interactive experience. Highly recommend!

Cute bar, nice patio, fun atmosphere, awesome music. Lots of TVs and lighting. So much potential, stop playing stupid sports ESPN garbage on the TVs, play ANYTHING gay influenced or music videos.

Do not go here as a group of women. A group of 10 girls went here thinking we would be safe. We went to a gender neutral bathroom and were immediately accosted by a man who was upset we were sharing a bathroom. We expressed this concern to staff and were told to exit the bathroom even though the man was saying very rude things to us like “you don’t belong here”. We will not be coming back

Great place, fantastic Drag show. Employess were fantastic. Especially Sabrina and Paul W. They really helped with my partner getting vegan food. Friends and myself needed to get away so we booked a visit to Palm Springs. In the year of COVID this gay bar was open and had a wonderful outdoor area that followed all COVID rules. It was nice to finally get out again even if we still had to seat at a table. The bartenders were all super nice and got us our drinks even when the place got busy. Hope to return to PS and this bar to see how it is post-COVID (please let that be soon). The bathrooms were pretty clean and hand sanitize stations were always present. Thanks Chill Bar for a good time.

Not very fan of this bar! Bartenders are diverse some friendly some not. Music is very loud and not my favorite one, Gogos are not very invested seem bored. I tried a couple of time, but not my bar...

We went here this morning for drag brunch and had a fantastic time! All of the queens delivered and put on a great show! They were also super sweet about photos and videos.Aside from the drag show, the food and drinks were equally delicious. My husband had the belgian waffle and I had the chilaquiles which were both fantastic

I celebrated Dinahshore 2023 here and it was amazing. Im planning on relocating to Palm Springs from the East Coast. Im wondering if they are hiring? this is such and awesome place to hangout and dance

I thought a gay bar would be a safe place for me and my fiancé to welcome the new year. We were attacked by a gay man here and the staff did nothing. A patron stopped the aggressor thankfully. Apparently me and my fiancé are “too straight” to be here. We tried to get him to leave us alone for more than five minute and none of the bar staff or patrons helped us. He slapped me twice before I walked away. I was just trying to find a fun bar to welcome the new years and ended up starting 2023 with an assault. The drinks were great and the staff were friendly overall but not very responsive to a combative patron. Next year I guess I find a more welcoming place to celebrate new years.

Unfortunately the bartender didn’t inform me at 1:25am that they were closing early. I ordered a drink at 1:25am and within 3 minutes the lights came on and the staff were very pushy to close up and get people out. One staff member told me to finish my drink by the door, but the bouncer told me no when I walked there! When choosing a bar remember they close early and force you out. We went to Hunters across the street and had a final drink.

Went to a private party here today and man I havent had that much fun in a looking time! Dancer on the bar, a dance club in the bad, friendly staff, patio with misters and it was clean.

(5/25/21) Yesterday for my 24th Birthday me and a few of my friends went to Chill bar for the my first time for drinks and a Birthday dinner. It was a good night, the atmosphere was energetic and playful. I enjoyed the drag show and the music with my friends. Not to mention the drinks where good!. There are many reasons why I believe this place is not all that bad. But I was quite disappointed with food service that we ended up not getting... At approximately 9:45-10pm me and my 2 friends ordered and paid for our dinner. We got a meatball sub, 2 orders of street tacos, chips and salsa and something else that I forgot. We waited for about 45min before asking a woman who was cleaning off the tables next to us when our food would be ready. she stated Ill ask and then proceeded to go talk with the kitchen staff. We got no reply on when the food would be ready, so we assumed it was just taking longer then we expected. We waited again about 30 minute, I could tell my friends where starting to get a bit antsy and hungry so we decided to ask again. we asked the woman who was cleaning the tables again and she assured us that it would be coming soon. About 15 minutes later a male staff member approached us and asked what we ordered, We told him our orders and he said he would be right back. He came back a few minutes later he said that there was a error with their system and our ticket was thrown out by mistake. He said we could get a refunded for what we paid for or we could wait ANOTHER hour to get our food because the kitchen was already closed for the night, so they would need to reopen for us to get our food. I told him that the woman who was cleaning told us our food was coming. The male employee (I did not get his name) seemed sincere and apologetic. He said he was extremely sorry for the mistake and refunded the meal we paid for and gave us some free chips & Salsa. It was still a great night but was disappointing that we didnt get our food we ordered. Hence why I only gave 3 stars. Anyways, Thanks for reading. -Connor

Good drinks, had an altercation with a female (she bumped into me and a few others and my drink fell) and the security tried to kick me out without hearing what actually happened. The security in charge handled it but it was just annoying having to deal with the whole thing

Beautiful bar however I walked in on Sunday and sat at the bar like any normal person would as there was no one in the front. The girl comes over 10 minutes later and asks me if I had a ticket as there was apparently a “ticketed” event. She wasn’t friendly and mentioned to the guy beside her that “security isn’t doing there job in the front”.This was very off putting as it became apparent that she wasn’t doing her job by greeting guests at the door and informing that this was a ticketed event (no signage). I would have been happy to purchase a ticket (they had PLENTY of space available, no shade) but instead of apologizing for not being in the front to inform me of this, she made me feel like I was completely unwelcome and as if I did something wrong. So for this, I will not return.

They discriminate against disabled people who sound different and might sound like they’re drunk when they’re not they stop serving you and make you feel very uncomfortable. I will never go back. I spoke to the manager, and he basically passed me off like I was nothing. In addition, I was invited back in the future with no problem, but the problem is no one listened or asked. I have photographs of letters that speak to my medical condition and how dare a business judge me I was the manager for Apple for six years during the busiest years and one of the busiest stores in the United States and this is how you kill a business, the behaviors that you read above keep going this way chill bar. I move in December 8 and I know some of the most influential people in town so this is a very bad call on your part.

Just a great friendly bar. The entire staff is great and the dj is incredible. Perhaps my favorite place in Palm Springs, so fun!

Chill bar always has the best vibes, The DJ these last two weekends has really hit it off with music super fun time. I wanna point out a few staff members who were fantastic! Ron? The bouncer AKA SANTA CLAUS did awesome last weekend when my friend broke my glass. Was super nice about it and so quick to clean up broken glass. Bartender JAYSON did great with providing fast and friendly service and oh my god tequila pineapple definitely did the job right. Speedo sever I think his name was TONY, dark hair with glasses was also super kind last weekend when I couldn’t find my friends and chatted till I found em. 10/10 vibes for Chill staff seems to care

Really $100. Hold I on my card for 3 drinks oh and that did not include price of drinks. Will never use my card here again and you should tell people they are being charged $100. And have to wait 3 days to get that money back in your account. No bar does this not even in West Hollywood. Well I guess the fact that people here live on fixed income excludes them from this bar. I was at Chill bar last night Aug 5th. To my surprise the bartender put a hold on my bank card It was the card for $125 and never told me. When I went to pay and close out and pay for my one $8 drink they told me my card was declined. I said to him that impossible because I new I had money in my bank account. I said run it again there must be something wrong with you machine. He came back and said it was declined again. Then he said we put a hold on your account of $125 to start with. They never told me they were going to do that. I had friends with me and it was it was an Embarrassing Situation that should of never happened. I had no cash on me to pay the $8 drink. My friend paid. I think this is a very Unethical Practice. Since when do bars hold you money without telling you and $125 at that. They need to have signs or warn people before they take cards to give people a choice. This is just underhanded and wrong. My friends and I will never go back there. They weren’t even nice about how they told me the card was declined they yelled it across the bar. This bar has no class at all. There are many fun and decent bars in the area to choose from you don’t have to put up with that Nonsense.People beware!!New review 11/14/2022Went back to chill bar with a friend.We were ignoring at the bar while the bartender helped people he new before us. Then was on his phone for 5 mins and ignored us again. He saw us sitting at the bar and didn’t care. I finally had to bang on the counter with my hand and wave to him for him to him to pay any attention to us. I as asked him if he saw was us and he had the nerve to say yes but didn’t get to you. He helped 3 people who we were ahead of . Then he turn his nasty attitude on us and says he didn’t appreciate us tapping on his bar. I said how else was I going to get your attention. He said I saw you the whole time. I said you purposely didn’t wait on us. He said he was in the phone lol while working. Don’t waste your time going there. If y’all want some of the best margaritas ask Andrew L. for some. They have the best Latin music to dance after midnight. It is indeed the best club to dance and drink of Palm Springs.

Chill has many facets that make it a great place to enjoy a good time. It lives up to its name! The temperature may reach triple-digits, but its always refreshing at Chill. The younger, club crowd amps up the fun after 9pm. Before that, us more mature people enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of happy hour. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, the happy hour DJ is wicked awesome; she plays new music and also modern recreations of favorites that we all remember from our disco bunny days. Truly amazing! During the afternoons on Saturday and Sundays, everyone enjoys Chill: Gay, straight, bi, trans, ace, men, women, non-bianary, and every hue of heritage. All this, plus a great staff and good food. Chills owners deserve an extra round of applause for adapting during the shelter-in-place months with best practices for safety. As our community opens up more and more, we can all enjoy that Chill is an oasis that invites all scenes. (PS: Try the Margaritas Flight. Four flavors to savor!)

My favorite bar in boystown.. the drinks are great , bartenders fast, outdoor patio is always clean and the music is great.. They have really nice televisions all throughout the club playing happy videos its very up beat here and its always happy. The pool tables are great in the back and its always busy but never crowded. I highly recommend this bar over all of the others on arenas

Brandon was our waiter and he was Amazing, not only was he easy on the eyes, he was very attentive and very helpful. I can not wait to travel back from Chicago to Palm Springs for his unbelievable service. My friends and I were very happy with our time there. Also try the tacos they were absolutely amazing.

This place is amazing. The staff are so nice, the food is so good, the drinks are fire, and the prices are amazing. I moved here a month ago from SF and it’s my favorite place. I’m there like 5 times a week. Lol.

Had a wonderful time at Drag Brunch on Sunday 11-29. It was a very entertaining show and the bottoms mimosas were awesome! The icing on the cake was meeting Brian Aka Tricia Mattel! Such a sweet and down to earth guy! Thanks for the selfie!

Always have a great time there, happy hour is great chill beer is $1.75 a pint during happy hours and always ice cool. All bartenders are great and friendly. Music is never to load til the young people start coming in for the late night fun and dance. Stright and gay men and women, very clean games to play and meet new friends.

I don’t know why they have low ratings on here but we loved this bar! Consistently nice bartenders, great service, strong drinks and they take credit cards unlike some other places. Definitely recommend checking it out!

By far the best gay bar in Palm Springs. Travis and Justin are just delightful bartenders and of course pretty to look at. Always our go to for drinks and fun downtown.

The place has a fundamental problem in that it was designed poorly from the get-go. The bar is in the center of the room and the interior space for the bar staff was created so generously that theres hardly any room for the patrons around the exterior. Everybody is rather shoved up against the walls or the windows, and it feels unnecessarily crowded even when its not. I agree with those who find the standards of cleanliness rather off-putting.

Large gay bar. Front and side patios, large main bar, faker bask bar with dance floor and, on Sundays, go-go men (not boys). One or two of the stars are for featuring the areas hottest go-go Rick. Decent prices for their tasty cocktails.

Very hard for me to understand why anyone would go to this bar. The service is slow, slow, slow, the bartenders act like they couldnt care less, and the staff doesnt even look you in the face. I ordered a cocktail and a Pepsi and gave the bartender a $20. and when I asked about my change he shrugged and walked away. Almost any other bar in the Valley is a better option.

The crowd is less old than the other bars. Busy with dancing. A lot of straight women go there, including hen parties (batchelorette) to see and flirt with the gogo dancers so it feels like straight people are taking it over. A real shame.

When I was young, this was the type of place Id frequent. In todays world though the gay nightclubs (vs bars) are a lot different than in my day. More straights (women and men), bigger prices, and more windows...haha...All in all, a good place for the young crowd to gather.

Nice place. My bartender was Brandon and he was great. I was there Sunday afternoon so it might have been happy hour. Drinks were cheap. After that decided to try the bar across the street and the same drink was twice the price.

Havent been in a while but last time we went we had a blast! We went on Varsity night... we like to watch the go go boys dance 🌙

Returned to Chill ( after a month) this evening Wednesday January 15, great music, good value.Sadly bar tender inattentive, unfriendly .slow to serve, did not make change, dismissive altitude....unable to make eye contact...overcharged people next to me...Unlike the new bartender, who was about service!No Wifi anymore?Very disappointed.

This was my favorite of the group of bars on this street. The name says its all, its chill. The music was on point all night. Old school hip hop, RNB, Pop, just a little bit of everything. They have a dance room then a bar room with a terrace. You can just keep walking back and forth. We left here and went over to another club across the road it felt like a real club scene and wasnt as relaxed. This place also gets all ages, all types, and all people. Was a nice group of people there.

Its the best (cheapest) happy hour on arenas, but when they get busy its impossible to get a drink. And they do get busy, its very popular.Im a tuff critical reviewer, my 3 is everybody else 4. Check it out, and open till 4pm its the best price in this town.

We sat down at the main bar. BAR TOP WAS GROSS. SOMEONE PLEASE.... GET SOME CLEAN RAGS.. DISINFECTANT.. AND WIPE DOWN THE ENTIRE PLACE..There is no reason for a bar of this caliber to be filthy. The city of Palm Springs and Riverside County Health Department needs to inspect and test Chill Bar for contamination.WATCHING the staff handle the glasses, not cleaning the bar tops, and NOT washing their hands (AT ALL) is beyond SCARY.WHY ARE THE STANDARDS SO LOW?HOW ABOUT:*Hand SANITIZER behind the bar for the STAFF...*WIPE DOWN THE BAR TOPS AND TABLES between guest... I usually like to come a have a few drinks and dance a couple of songs. Sometimes I like to support fundraisers. I won a prize at a fundraiser so finally I decided to cash in my voucher. To my suprise they changed management. And the current person in charge (Shawn) called me a liar that my voucher was fake. The embarrassment that this caused me in front of my guest and friends was unbearable. I might be thinking twice now if I might like to return.

I wen there last friday and saturday when i was visiting palm springs. In my opinion this is the best place that i found for dancing with a great music and vibe. I wish there were more oldies though but apart from all fun.

Great space. Well dri ks are weak and cost 9 dollars. Maybe go to streetbar first to drink. Here after to dance, but you can go back across the street for drinks if you chug...lol, why would anyone come here for LA drink prices I wonder

Similar to other reviews, our card was unknowingly preauthorized for $125 when we stopped by for one beer tonight. Not okay to do this without a heads up, I’ve never heard of this before.

Went here for drag brunch. The show was amazing and the drinks are great and reasonably priced. The food was just ok both in terms of selection and quality.

The bouncer told my friend to throw his pizza box takeout on the ground like garbage before we can enter. We were upset and all left asap. It’s the audacity for me…

My favorite bar in the town! If anyone visit in Palm Springs, I recommended anyone to go this place to chill and have some drinks. Always have good time! :)

Love it here at the chill bar but I dont know whats up with the $10 fee to get in the back area is it worth it and somebody let me know they have dancers that hunters and they dont charge

A medium sized gay bar that is hetero-friendly. There is an outside terrace with seating. Attracts a mix of ages. Mid price drinks.

They have a Yelp checkin offer to get free hummus. It seems like they ran out of hummus while we were there but the servers were nice enough to switch it up for a plate of bruschetta.

Bartender was soooooo rude and threw pen on the counter for me to sign the check lol. Anyways being from NYC, I have never had such a bad experience and I will never come back.

Walked in. Found a cell phone on the floor and the woman bartender assumed I was going to take it when in fact it was going to turn it in. Then she served the wrong drinks to only redo the drinks with no alcohol thinking we would not notice.

Worst experience ever, Ken the manager is the worst, now i know why they let him go from Toucans, cause he doesnt know what hes doing, would never go back, used to spend 100rds per night, horrible night, noticed that staff was high on weed, so they called the cops, but customer is wrong, officer Larson from Palm Springs PD, stated it was legal for an employee to be high, that it is up to the owner whether try allowed it

Music too loud during happy hour. Driving paying customers to leave for a quilter space to chat before dinner.

Avoid this bar at all cost. Bartender with the accent was awfully rude, 32 dollars for a beer and a drink. Ask for a receipt. Dont even dare ask for a cup of water, its probably 20 dollars anyway.

This is a great and inviting place. Great drinks, great people and great staff. I highly recommend a visit to Chill Bar!

Good drinks and food. I stopped here on a Friday night and it was a little crowded but you have to expect that on a weekend.

The prices were amazing. The staff a treat. The music was terrible.... happy hour is 11am-7pm.

Please please remove wanna be Dj Steve Sidewalk from your Saturday nights. Such a terrible Dj. He just lets music play and doesn’t mix plays old disco most of the night. Hello it’s 2024 not 1984 . Also talks way too much vs allowing us to have fun and dance. Terrible.

Very unfriendly staff, when we were asked for the ID we of course showed it without asking, the bartender simply disappeared into the back room with our very important documents and when he came back there was still a discussion about why we didnt carry a passport with us. Afterwards we were rudely told that we would not be able to get any drinks in this bar.Better go to the Hunters Nightclub there we were greeted very friendly and courteously and it wasnt a problem that we only had our German ID with us. Spent a very fun evening there. 😊Unfortunately, one star for the Chill Bar in Palm Springs cannot be given 0.
