Shiatsu of Pasadena

One of the best places to get a massage in the SGV! Always professional, AMAZING massage therapists, and great customer service. They always provide you with tea and some sort of cookie after the massage. It’s a great touch. My favorite massage to purchase here is the shiatsu with the hot rocks. I leave the salon feeling more relaxed, limber and overall restored. Price is also very reasonable.

I had an incredible massage that transformed my whole day. The Masseuse was responsive to my feedback and a complete expert in what she did. I haven’t had a shiatsu massage quite as good in a really, really long time!

100% scam. Not shiatsu, not Japanese, not credible massage of any kind, and in violation of the ethics pledges that go with the licenses and professional plaques on the wall, which I guess must be fakes. There was zero medical intake; the woman who “massaged” me spoke no English, ignored everything I said, and just rubbed her hands around randomly. At one point I flinched because her touch was tickling me, and she MOCKED ME and intentionally did it some more! Worse than worst massage experience, and an insult to the profession.Update, in response to business’s reply: My review is as a trained and formerly California-licensed CMT (Certified Massage Therapist), MBLEX (national exam for massage practice & business ethics), and ABMP member (national prof massage organization). I’m VERY qualified to assess what is a good massage and what isn’t, and how clients should be treated. I’ve studied and practiced shiatsu in the U.S., experienced shiatsu in Japan, and I’m part Japanese. I had high hopes for receiving an excellent massage at your business (massage therapists need to receive as well as give!), but instead my experience was so much the opposite that I felt compelled to warn others. The intentional tickling and teasing was the tip of the iceberg of problems with my experience at your business.Your City business license doesn’t mean anything about the quality of your services, it’s just compliance with local business taxes; I was referring to the state and national CMTA and ABMP professional massage certifications, which I know because I was a member of both, posted on your wall and which pledge specific ethics and client practices.

I recently had a 90-minute massage at Shiatsu of Pasadena and it completely exceeded my expectations. I had resigned myself to the belief that finding a skilled massage therapist was a matter of luck, and I must say, I got incredibly lucky with this place. I usually opted for massages at ‘Massage Envy’ but ‘Shiatsu of Pasadena’ has outshined them in every aspect. Not only was the quality of the massage superior, but the prices were also more affordable, which was a delightful surprise!

Both times I’ve come here, got the Shiatsu 60 min and it was always the right pressure with such great technique!

I’m so glad I found this place!!!! 10/10!!! Will definitely come back again ❤️

I came here with my boyfriend for a relaxing little escape and it went above and beyond! The place is so beautiful, has a soothing and lovely energy, and every person we encountered was delightful. Our massage was top notch and the therapists hit points that I did not even know were so tense, but somehow they did and brought everything back into balance. We felt relaxed and refreshed after and were even served a beautiful tea and refreshment ceremony! By far our favorite spot in California for a daytime recharge and refresh. I took my partner here for his birthday gift, 90min massage which included hot stones. He came out of there looking the most relaxed I think Ive ever seen him. He said their default pressure was pretty intense but he didnt ask them to go any lighter because he said he thought he needed it. They were very nice and professional and sent him home with some treats, too.

I dont get massages often, but after my friend kept recommending this place I decided to give it a shot. It was my first time getting a massage in the US, and I was definitely skeptical at first due to heightened expectations from my friend, but Shiatsu of Pasadena went above and beyond to meet each of them. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end and this place was able to take me away to my own personal sanctuary. From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out they provided any amazing experience that really emphasizes the effort they put into the details. I had a great time and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has never had a massage or is looking for a small getaway to de-stress!

Top class at an affordable price. Took my daughter to get a combo massage. We were treated with care the entire time. Each of us had a 90 min combo massage. Well worth it. After the massage we were given a delectable tea and ice cream. Amazing touch! I highly recommend to anyone who needs to relax.

Review if: Couples Royal CBD Shiatsu massage. UnBeLievAble! Coco and Wendy provided the services. Fantastic. Three hours later and we are still floating. Receptionists are also lovely, we received dark chocolate and water after our massage, and green tea with an origami sheet and bird to take home. Chocolate and all aside, YOU HAVE TO TRY THEM! Especially if you already have a preferred spa.

Went today for a much needed massage... was not disappointed!! SaSa was amazing! I probably get 5-6 massages each year... this one ranks in the top 5 of my lifetime for sure :). I will def be back. AND... love their space - cozy, serene and the pot of white tea after with a few yummy nibbles was such a sweet way to end my treatment.

The quality doesn’t add up to the price as the massage felt fairly average, as if they were just going through the motions of a routine they had learned. I got the feeling that the therapist didn’t care too much about the quality and that she was ready to get it over with. I also am putting a slightly lower rating because I asked for a shiatsu massage, and primarily received a massage that more resembled a Swedish style oil massage.

I hate leaving bad reviews but overall I was disappointed. Me and my husband went in for a couples massage and the overall experience wasnt so great. The body massage was okay but Ive had better elsewhere. My biggest issue though was that my therapist wasnt listening to me that I was uncomfortable and wanted her to stop with my scalp being massaged, she was too rough and kept ripping my hair out. I would never go back because even after communicating this she didnt listen. To add insult to injury I called immediately after to tell the manager of my experience he questioned my integrity and kept interrupting me when I was trying to explain what happened. He kept saying over and over that I said it was fine when I was at the counter but even after I told him I was trying to be respectful and didnt want to complain at reception where other clients are waiting and could here, he was very combative with me on the phone. Refused to accept my issues with the service.

Usually dont write reviews but this was worth the mention. Ive been having debilitating knee pain that keeps me from walking or standing without aching and throbbing pain. It was so bad it kept me from going places or doing things I love, like hiking. I friend mentioned that I should try acupuncture but didnt think it would actually work.I went in and my specialist, Danni Zhou did the treatment on my knees. A few days later, I suprisingly wasnt experiencing any of the pains I had been suffering from. I was able to walk around the block and stand for a prolonged period without pain or discomfort. Its been over a year since Ive been able to do this. Im so thankful to hear for her help.If you are ever curious or didnt think acupuncture could work, you need to go!Danni is not only knowledgeable, but she actually cares. She educated you on the process and does a thorough assessment so she could help deliver the best course of action. Highly recommended!!!

I was referred by my friend and i love this place after my first visit. The decor here is very exquisite. What I enjoyed most is that my masseuse Julie is so professional that she hit all the pressure points of my shoulder and back. Definitely not my last visit :)))))

One of my coworker referred me to this place one day and I tried to make an appointment for Tuina treatment with Guasha. It was ABSOLUTELY the best massage Ive ever had. Just enjoyed the 90 minute White Tea Couples Massage and I cannot stress how much we enjoyed it. It was affordable, friendly staff, hands down the cleanest facilities Ive ever been to. I now have a favorite massage parlor and will be back again soon!

I had such an ordinary spa experience at this place. There’s no place like this in LA. Staffs are so attentive and welcoming. I had one hour shiatsu since the one I usually go was closed. It’s the BEST shiatsu I’ve ever had. My masseuse doesn’t speak good English but her technique is extraordinary. I’ll not just come back I’ll also ask my friend and family to come. The whole package they offer is just so amazing. Thank you!

Sweet and relaxing small spa. Couples massage was perfect and really therapeutic. Combo of Shiatsu and Tuina, very effective at giving us overall feeling of being realigned energetically and muscles fully worked. Great price point $60-70 for 1 hour. At end of couples treatment we were seated and given a small candy, mochi, white tea and cold water. Very refreshing to close with. Will be returning.

I called to cancel in advance of my appointment due to a COVID exposure I didn’t feel it was right to go out and possibly expose others. As soon as the worker picked up the phone I told them I wanted to cancel and she asked me you want to cancel? In a very rude and mocking tone. I said yes and tried explaining why but she cut me off and hung up the phone. Super disrespectful.

Julie is an amazing massage therapist. She is also kind and professional. When I make it out toward Pasadena I intend to try to always fit this lovely place in my day. ♡

An absolute amazing tuina massage. Im a big athletic man who carries a lot of pain and soreness everywhere from lifting and exercising. I cant express how much this is better than your typical deep tissue massage. Honestly, my experience is what I wish the standard would be. I can go on and on but in short, if youre looking for a deep massage, get the Tuina. Ask for Julie! Shes the one to ask for!
