Newer space, with good comics coming regularly. Great service, from the door man to the wait staff. Not bad seats in the larger 300 person room, but still worthwhile to get in early and snag a table with a wall for a back. Food options are also better than I expected - will plan on getting in early again next time and grabbing dinner before the show.
I attended Goodnights for the B.Simone STILL STANDING COMEDY TOUR 2024. I am impressed with Goodnights space compared to stories Ive heard about the previous space before the upgrades. The staff was amazing. When I picked up our tickets the staff told me we had the best seats in the house and we werent disappointed.Three of us purchased reserved seats and we were at table 203 (second row) from the stage. Great views and listening overall and with the comedians as they engaged with the audience heavily. The opening comedians were hilarious. B. Simone gave us a great show! During the show, I ordered two cocktails the spiked Shirley Temple with Hendricks and the French75. Both were good but the bar should stop being so heavy-handed with the ice. Way too much ice!I would return for reserved seats only because at my mature age I dont do lines and the rigid first come first serve seats as this was a gamble for me. The line was treacherous for General admission (GA). As it was hot out the GA line extended up the stairs where all the heat from the opened doors was sitting.I recommend purchasing reserved if you dislike waiting in lines. The lounge area was a comfy wait in reasonable (cool) temperatures till everyone was seated and then reserved can go to their table. This was my vibe! Goodnights is now my favorite in the area.I look forward to returning one day soon.
Good location and friendly staff. Typical bar food and not worth the price just like any other comedy club. The seats are so uncomfortable. Unlike the Improv, the set up here is awful. At least at the Improv you sit on comfortable chairs and at a long table with others so it gives you a chance to meet new people to chat with before the show. Must bring a sweater during summer months because it is freezing inside. I can deal with all this but one thing I wished they would change is how you receive your ticket. You purchase online, then arrive early to stand in line to pick up your tickets and then another line to get into the showroom. I wished they would update their system and send their tickets electronically.
The show last night was awesome. Bruce Bruce was in the building 4/26/2024. The venue is a NO for me. Tables are so small that when your drinks and food come no room to place it with 4 people sharing a table. Food extremely overpriced. Extremely hot in venue with people packed in like a a can of sardines. No personal space. Everyone is bumping into you. Yes ...many comedy spots are set up to pack as many people as possible but this is unacceptable. They can do better. Holding my food and trying to figure out is it my drink or the person behind me whose knees are right behind my chair. 😩 Lets not talk about the Basket of Fries for $9.50, 🤔
I like this new location! Parking is better and the actual building is better than before. Be sure to get there EARLY! Seating is on a first come first serve basis and I thought I was getting there early and was sat in the back because the room was completely full. Even though the seat was actually pretty good! The food is all American and mostly fried everything. We ordered a chicken sandwich with fries which was filling + the chicken buffalo egg rolls which was just okay. These were what people typically call Southwest chicken egg rolls with the black beans and corn on the inside. And we also ordered a Caesar salad, which was humongous and they forgot to bring Caesar dressing. Dressing so I had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for them to get some. Keep in mind, every guest has to order two items whether it be food or drink when you are in the area for the show, not the pre-lounge area that does not count towards your two purchase items. But dont worry, once you order one thing youll find yourself at your requirement already. Oh and the water was the small bottles of Fuji water. I REALLY appreciated that since they dont allow you to bring your own water bottle. I thoroughly enjoyed the show! We went to go see Lil Rel. 🤣🤣👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Pros:- Seats are pretty good even though they maximize the number of people they can fit.- The mini corn dogs were delicious- The show itself was greatCons:- They wont give you water and a tiny bottle is $4.50. People but tickets to be here AND order 2 menu items. Stop being ridiculously cheap and give people water.- My partner and I ordered apps and an entree. The server waiting until ALL FOUR of our food items were ready to bring them out. Thats not how dining works... We couldnt fit those 4 items on the tiny table we were sharing with 3 other people and had to put them on spare chairs.- The burger was so tiny and over cooked.Honestly, the venue took away from the experience rather than adding to it. Even if there was a show I *really* wanted to see, I would probably skip it if it were at Goodnights
Been here 4 times in the last few months...only laughed when we went to see nephew Tommy, the best show ever. Only downside was being harassed about taking videos 3x when I was only taking photos, I like to hold my phone up and catch people in action, so I wont miss anything 😅 #TravelDiaries #PhotographyFun #goodnights
Ripe for better management. Not a review of comedians as much as Stark differences in skill between wait staff and in ticketing. They split our party of 4 causing it to be far less enjoyable than it could have.Forced to have separate waiters. One waiter was great. Other unfortunately so bad we finished our meals before even 1st drinks arrive. Excruciatingly slow. Then 2hr show was over had to flag waiter down during mass exit for bill. she had no clue.
Cool spot. I’ve been coming to Goodnights since way back when they had a different owner (Brad?) back on the old Morgan Street/ Charlie Goodnights days. I do like their new location. Cleaner, more spacious. Menu could use a little work, but hey.I will say, since Raleigh Improv opened a few years back, Goodnights has become more of a spot for less known or up & coming comedians. Which, honestly, is totally cool. But the ticket prices should reflect that. At the end of all the unnecessary online fees, no one should be shelling out 50 bucks to see a smaller name. Just my opinion.Overall, it’s still a cool spot and they do have free ticket giveaways and discounted tickets from time to time as well!
Fun date night to see Pauly Shore. Not sure if it was in the fine print when we bought the tickets or not but there is a 2 item minimum per person once you enter the club. Not the bar area, the actual event space. If I had planned better I certainty wouldnt have eaten first. 2 ( 1 bourbon and 1 double rum and soda) drinks, 1 bottle of water and pretzels was $97.
Read the terms when you buy your tickets. They had a two drink minimum. Or better yet, save your money and dont go at all.okay i didnt say ALCOHOLIC drink, i said drink. as in beverage, which is what the menu is mostly made up of unless you want to spend $10 on a basket of fries.
I always visit this place when I’m in ATL!!! There’s no place like it!!The portion sizes are HUGE!! Feel free to share plates with family and friends! The bread is delicious and the service is amazing! We typically get the fish platter, it has shrimp, and 2 different kinds of fish, hush puppies, Fries and whatever else you can think of!!!Please go!! 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
To be clear, Ive not gone yet, but the person I spoke with on emails was clear and precise and super helpful. I am going tonight, and Im eager to continue the review on how awesome it is later tonight 👏👏👏, IT WAS AMAZING. First and foremost, met the two most amazing ladies, jeri and ciara, hope they come back again, next the food. Great mfing food bro, i got the bbq sandwich and my wife got the brownie with a lovely non alc bev list she had so many choices, me on the other hand i smashed 4 welcome margs, while each was differing in flavor they all equally got me sizzled. I have never had such a good time. I dont know what these comments about i cant see servers in the way. They literally crouch and crawl in front of you, if you say that youre literally the ahole.
Love the bar at the new location. Food is lack luster drinks expensive. I like how close and intimate the seating is to the stage. Waiting on stairs is not ideal but the show room was an good size. Of COURSE Im returning.
Last night was my first time at Goodnights, and I had an amazing time! It was not a typical comedy event but a podcast live show. Its an incredible group of fans, but we can be a little goofy. The staff was friendly and wonderful and just went with the flow so as to be attentive but not interrupt the shenanigans. They literally crouched down to make their way through the tables to take orders so that they would not disrupt things. It is the perfect sized venue for comedy shows, intimate without everyone sitting on top of each other. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and Im looking forward to trying some of the drinks next time. I had already purchased tickets to a different podcast live show a few days ago, so I was relieved to have such a great experience (don’t worry...it will be just as loud and hilarious, just without the singing and dancing and overall circus of it all). Im fairly new to Raleigh, so Goodnights will definitely be on my list of places to keep an eye on for more events.
The show was amazing! However we will never go back due to the demand that you buy two menu items per person! I dont know how a business can be run this way!! And of course they fine disclose this until you arrive!!
We had a wonderful experience at this comedy club! I’m not sure of Allison’s title but she went above and beyond for us and her customer service far exceeded our expectations! Thank you so much Goodnights for an amazing night!
Every single time B. Simone comes to this venue I’m gonna be there!! I had such a great time last night. The hostess in charge of sitting people down was rude and the food is overpriced for the quality. I ordered two drinks, two baskets of fries, and two baskets of boneless wings $85 and wasn’t satisfied with the food as far as taste. But I loved the vibes! I won a shirt and bag venue souvenir so I thought that was sweet 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I have been coming to Goodnights for many years. With the Reserved Seating, they should highly reconsider Table 312 as a reserved table. Its all the way far side by the exit door. If youre going to have an extra fee for better seating and not let patrons choose their seats the least you could do is have the extra fee seats be at an acceptable angle. I would have gladly taken the walk-in seats over Table 312. I try to stay loyal with Goodnights but if this is an issue and youre not trying to change it you will continue to see Raleigh Improv grab more of your clientele. Please do better because I feel I got robbed and the location ruined my experience. If youre only going to give an empty reply, save it because it actually makes you look less customer concerned.
What a cool venue! Its a small place, so you have a much more intimate experience. They have a full bar that you can grab drinks at while you wait for the doors to open. They also have a small food menu with some decent options that wont blow you away, but definitely not the worst food Ive ever had. I have seen Jim Breur, and Shane Mauss here, and I will be going to watch Felt Face Randy this weekend. If you havent been to a comedy show in a while, or at all, I highly recommend this venue.
I like the seating arrangements and vibes. You can see the stage well from anywhere. Amazing pretzel sticks with queso. Drinks are pretty good. I’m not sure about the way you place an order for food/drinks. I think it would be better to order online with a QR code and they just bring the food to your table so you can pay right away
All the great things the previous location had plus better parking. Also, I appreciate that the two-item minimum does not have to be alcohol. Im not always in the mood for a drink, so snacks are a nice option. Their hummus was incredible - topped with roasted garlic, which I love - and the chicken strips must be good because roughly 90% of patrons ordered them. Much of the billed comics material was not to my taste, but he had his moments and the two opening acts I thought were hilarious. We had a large group for a birthday outing, so we had reserved seating. If I were going with one other person, Id go with general admission. Theres not a bad seat in the house.
The comedians performing are amazing but the venue is terrible. Has a peculiar smell to it the staff is dull like they hate being there. The waitress was amazing. But other than the comedians and waitresses it’s a terrible place. The seats are uncomfortable, the tables are small, has a peculiar smell, the staff sucks and overall could be better for the prices they charge for food, drinks and show.
The atmosphere was good service was great, it was clean and nice. However, the food was not good at all, especially for the prices. Please go somewhere else to eat before coming here. Dry chicken tenders and fries for $15.00 is ridiculous. If you are going to serve food please make it worth the prices you are charging people, especially if you are requiring a 2 item minimum.
I’ve been to many comedy shows throughout the US. The show itself was great and the location is nice. I gave 3 stars bc it just felt too crammed. I could barely move. We also asked our waitress for a Togo container three times and she never bought it.
Ive been there plenty of times before. This location is better in my opinion compared to the other location. 2 item minimum isnt bad. I went last weekend and I had a good time with my wife. No complaints.
We went to a special show. It was sold out! The show was fabs. The whole staff was courteous and helpful. The cocktails and appetizers were tasty. The kitchen got a little backed up but the waitstaff handled the situation graciously.
New location is ok. Not a fan of eating in the dark, or having to sit so awkwardly with their seating style. Other than the reserved seats which I understand, you should be allowed to seat yourselves to available seats that are open when arriving. I’d eat elsewhere, because ordering food you can’t even see the quality of in the dark is wild. Of course they will respond with something bland to sooth other onlookers but it would be better to actually address and change what everyone is complaining about. Make changes instead of down playing all the recommendations from the people who keep you in business. This wasn’t our first show here by far!
Always the best comedy in the triangle. The new location is awesome. Drinks are great. Good is just typical comedy venue food. The staff is consistent and always friendly.
We went and saw @KelseyCook there a couple weeks ago. It was a great time, server was super helpful and prompt. Great atmosphere, but you have to realize its located downstairs!
Great show!!!! However ..we arrived with a party of 8 about a hour in a half early to get booth seats! Like we always do! This time they told us we had to sit in the seats that they assigned to us! The problem is.. it’s first come first serve! So I’m confused at why we couldn’t get the both seats. So other people ended up getting the both seats we wanted and waited for even though they arrived a hour after we did!!! Crazy!! I feel that Goodnights should ask the customers if they have a seat preference! If they don’t have a seat preferences then they should be assigned a seat.. if they have a seat preferences like we did … they should be allowed to have those seats if the seats are available!!! 2 stars for customers service!!! TERRIBLE
Our first time at Goodnights was a blast. David James and his feature were both amazing. The atmosphere is great and we didnt have to wait in any long lines or anything. The showroom was a little crowded for my taste, but we definitely enjoyed the show.
Nephew Tommy brought the house down with his stand-up! His humor was fresh and original, keeping the audience roaring with laughter from start to finish. His ability to weave everyday life into hilarious anecdotes was truly impressive. I highly recommend catching his show if you want a night filled with non-stop laughs and clever wit.
Their new location looks great and drinks and food were good. Disappointed with how they manage general seating. We got in line 45 minutes before the show started and were seated at the very back of the venue with a wall blocking half the stage to my right, while people that came 5 minutes before the show got sat with much better seats and views. I understand that y’all use seating areas for your servers, but there has to be a better way of seating people that came early and waited for a good seat.Edit for response: The many people sat after us were definitely not in the reserved seating area, unless the reserved seating is at the back of the venue away from the stage
Fun venue but they let people blow vape clouds during the show.Response to owner: that’s great if you have a policy, but it was not enforced when we visited. A patron was very obviously vaping the entire show in the center of the room, and was not once spoken to by your staff. My wife is pregnant and it made for an uncomfortable situation sitting near them.
Came here for the first time from a bit out of the way to see my fav, Kyle Kinane. I went by myself and saw some other reviews about how being seated by oneself doesnt turn out so great. I didnt find that to be the case at all, had a great (non-reserved!) seat, and attentive waitstaff even though I was only ordering canned domestic beers. Maybe its just the case that those who love Kyles work show up alone and order that same thing so there wasnt much room to work with, but I thought the bar and staff were great, especially considering the - albeit polite - degens in their audience. Keep it up folks and thanks for a good time!
Comedy was excellent! Service very lacking. 3 comedians in, was the 1st time we were even acknowledged. Placed drink & food orders. 6 comedians in and food arrives, asked her how were we supposed to eat with no utensils or napkins & still no drinks yet. Not sure how food comes out before the drinks. Bill came real quick oddly enough! Even the security guard was more professional.
It was awesome! My best friend got us tickets to see someone I love. We had a blast! The servers were awesome, the security was great.
Service and staff were absolutely fantastic. I ordered a couple drinks and my bartender who made my drinks was super charismatic and knew exactly how to make my drinks. The food is delicious too and absolutely a need in order to snack away away during the comedy show
Drove from Asheville to see a favorite comedian. 20 mins before able to pick up tickets a text was received saying the show was canceled. Waste of a drive and a stay at a hotel. I get things happen but more of a heads up would’ve been nice.
To be clear, Bruce Bruce and the other acts were hilarious. But I paid for a ticket, why am I also forced to spend $8 extra for over priced or plain disgusting foods(the fries were stale and how do you serve someone flat soda then charge them $5?!). The club is in a basement which felt like I was watching packed into someones house with a bunch of strangers not at a venue I paid to get into. It also did not help my opinion that the comedians also expresed disappointment with the venue. It wasnt worth the hassle. There was also no cell reception. Its not like I needed to have a conversation during the show but the ability to recieve emergency texts is kinda important.Bruce Bruce and Co 10/10Goodnights 3/10
Great show, nice venue, good food & drinks, excellent wait staff, though the one bouncer/security guy is rude, nasty, overbearing and obnoxious for no reason. That one guy (hes no gentleman) put a wet rag on what otherwise was a good night out. He needs to go, just saying....
I really enjoyed the comedy show with Michael Coylar and the other two comedians that were there. This was my first time attending Goodnights comedy club. The only issue I experienced was there was a vent right above my head that was blowing very cold air and I asked to move and I couldnt move. But this definitely wont be my last time, I really enjoyed the smaller atmosphere.
All in all, this was a great date night! The size of this place is perfect! Small enough to still feel connect to the entertainment but not too small that you feel like you HAVE to react to them to keep the show going haha we did not get reserved seating and we were placed in the back, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The wait staff had great timing! They came around and got our drink and food order. It came out very timely as well! We had the mozzarella sticks and pretzel bites. Both were crispy and bar quality so I had no complaints :)The drinks were tasty too! (Though we already had a buzz going prior to arrival so I cannot speak on the alcohol strength)
Always the best time here. The food was a little more tasty than usual. This is my third time here and I am so glad Raleigh has a place like this. 🥰
This place is a scam with terrible seating and food. First, they add a huge service fee when you buy the tickets, around 15$ extra for two tickets. Then, when you get there, you cant choose your seating. Theyll seat you with strangers even if there are 2 seats together available. We arrived around 40min before show start. Their setup is so bad because the servers keep passing in front of you NON STOP and since they force everyone to buy food even though this is not a restaurant, you know that EVERYONE will have to order. Many servers stopped right in front of me, not even crouching... and to top it up, they make you pay your tab when the show is ending, so you miss the most funny punchlines.. you have to eat in the dark (I dont even know if my burger was properly cooked), search your card in the dark, enter your pin and tip in the dark. There arent tables for everyone so l had to place my tray of food ON MY LAP the whole show... They also kept blocking my view of the stage with their heads to ask me if everything was good while l had my mouth full of food multiple times, causing me to miss several jokes... l couldnt even hear them the first times. SO ANNOYING. The comedy is cool and they attract good talent, but the way their service is structured is absolutely disgusting. Just so you dont think Im exaggerating, the practice of forcing clients to purchase a second service (buy two items of food minimum) in order to allow them to have the main service (comedy) is prohibited in several countries, including mine. Ill probably never go there again, as it is cheaper to attend a broadway play or live music concert without being forced to buy terrible food at exorbitant prices.
Went to see Robyn Schall last night! She was fantastic! Club is just a temporary location while the new one is being built. It was a good setup, and the staff was excellent. Everyone from the front door to the ladies who were serving was so friendly and pleasant. A drink menu was available, and you could bring your own snacks. Plus, I got to meet Robyn afterward!
Fun time. We saw Pauly Shore. Blast from our past. The service was great. Drinks were wonderful.
Closer to 4.5 really. The new location seems like it will be great for future events. The show we saw had great comedians out of NYC, and we had a great time! The drinks were on the level of what you would expect in the area price-wise. I did not try the food this time, but our friends got a few appetizers, and they seemed to be good. The staff was helpful, easy to interact with, and friendly. They are still working out a few little kinks at the new location. We had a headliner change, and the AC condensation was dripping in the main seating area (not on anyone, it was just a little distracting), but the venue did comp us $10 each towards our food and drinks as a courtesy for the change which I thought was cool. I expect this review to upgrade to a five-star review next time I visit, and we will be returning.
We were here for the 50 first jokes. Loved it! It was so interesting to see so many of the area’s upcoming and veteran comics. Also we were really amazed by how good the food was. We had the sampler and drinks, everything was so yum. The service was great as well. Definitely going back!
I enjoyed nephew Tommy however the sitting was horrible and unsafe and they packed six people(people I did not know) at one table they had me and my date trap in a corner we couldnt see!!! GOODNIGHTS do better ..waiters kept passing us to go to the bathroom the whole table had to move this had to be against fire code the place was very overcrowded .for $83 and I wasnt even comfortable the whole night!
Much better experience than expected. Food and beverage service was excellent. The comedians were awesome too!
Let me tell you, eat before you come here. The menu has jokes, Charlie goodnights will have you saying goodnight to your wallet. You are required to get two items off the menu when you get tickets. In other words…. Run me my money. 12$ chicken bites and 10$ chips and queso. I get more food my money at the movie theater. What happened Charlie? Ranch wasn’t even hidden valley.
Great venue. Amazing shows. A/C needs some work. Good food and well made drinks.
Good venue. Small performance area. Drinks and food were ok. Comics were good.
Im hoping for an amazing Mothers Day show with my beloved Joe Machi- but please good nights get a GOOD sign!!! I almost missed my fave guy!!
I should say this review is for comedian Tim Meadows, NOT the club itself which was great. I understand he’s a “comedian”, but it seemed like Raleigh was the very last place he wanted to be and he said as much. He continued to slam every single thing about Raleigh. THEN had a q&a session within his set which was TERRIBLE and not funny in the least. Then he looks at his watch and says he’s fulfuilled his contractually obligated time, so he can go. Gives another little bit and he’s off. He wasn’t funny and the set was super short.
Nice little venue. My drink was a little weak and they didnt really know how to make a martini right. Could have changed the grease in the fries
I thought the club was very nice. I ordered food, and when it came, the food was hot and fresh. The drinks were pretty good. For me, the size of the club was just right.... Michael Blackson was off the chain, and even his headliner Kendall was very funny. Had a great time and would definitely go back
More space than the previous location but was tough to find. Never a fan of the item minimum but the food was pretty good. Was seated quickly.
I would ask the chef to have better food all food they brung out to the table was dry I dont think I seen any kind of salad on the menu my alcohol beverage was very delightful even though I ordered a double shot & put that in my mixed drink its just the way I am, and of course the comedians were cool very funny. In all I would go back I will just make sure that Ive ate dinner before I got there.
Easy check in. Seating was not too crowded. Servers were careful not to distract from the show. Nice intimate venue with really good up-and-coming comedians and old favorites. Drinks and food are not overpriced.
Saw Randy Feltface here last night OMG! Was it amazing! Good food great drinks great staff everyone super duper nice! If you love comedy you should go hang out for a bit relax laugh and enjoy! We will be back for sure
Really fun experience, had a great time. We attended the Brad Williams show and it was hilarious. It was not well organized and very pricey on top of that. A yuengling costed $5.50, we buy 12 pack of yuengling for $12 dollars. The show itself was $25 each, but then they tack on an extra $5 service charge each. Theres no way avoid the service charge either. Then moving from the factory to the show was moving 100 people up a single stairway. However, it was a lot of fun. It would definitely be a common trip if it costed less. Once in the show room everything got much more organized and relaxing. All the staff was friendly as well. Highly recommended, just be prepared spend some money. We returned for a second time and say a different comedian. This trip was much cheaper and was very enjoyable. I updated to 5 stars because we have no complaints about this trip everything was great!
We were placed at seats where the ceiling was leaking onto us. Ordered food and drinks before the show started but didnt receive our order until near the end of the headliner. Enjoyed the show at least
This is one of my favorite comedy spots in the Triangle area, but had a bit of a disappointing interaction with a server last night. We ordered drinks at the bar before going into the show (bartender was great!) and we get seated to our table. Our server comes up and says “looks like we already have drinks, would anyone like a water?” at first I saw were good, but my friend says sure, we will take some waters. She comes back with a bucket of six water BOTTLES and proceeds to upcharge us an insane amount for something we didn’t even order. We also all proceeded to order more drinks, so the up charge really rubbed me the wrong way. I’m in the service industry myself (and have been for over ten years) and I would have never done that to a customer.Overall, my other experiences have been good and I will definitely be back, but they need to train the waitstaff a little better. Again, bartenders were awesome as always!
Nice place. Need a bigger sign out front. I enjoy the comedy show visiting a friend that was a comedian dude
I absolutely love this place. I’ve seen Steve-O, Kevin Nealon, and a comedy competition (when it was on Morgan street). Pete Davidson and Joe Dombrowski on Woodburn. The staff is always accommodating and surprisingly quick service for a full audience. The food is always great. The laughs are almost always there and the atmosphere is wonderful. I plan to come to many more shows, no matter the location!
The show was great....Jim B was amazing. The room for patrons was not reasonably accommodating. They should have two lines entering, one for general admission and one for reserved seating. The drinks were ungodly priced once in the venue. My family got their bill and it was $22 per drink and they paid more for their drinks than the bottle of liquor was at stores. They were given no drink prices or menu prior to ordering. I was highly disappointed. I will never travel down from Ohio to go to a show there again.
Great comedy shows... if you need a night of drinks and laughter, this is the place to go.
Super fun experience! Love this place for comedy.
I love the venue. I didnt stop at the bar, but there is a bar before going to the stage area.
Experience was great, comedy show was funny in my opinion. But overall was a really good night. Drinks were good . People were super nice. My only personal opinion is that the hygiene didnt look that clean but it might just be me since it was low light all trough out. Dont miss out though, It was a good night with lots of laughs.
I love the new location. I havent gone in a few years so I was pleasantly surprised when GPS took me to a different location with restaurants and other things to do, if you catch an early show. The comedians have always been wonderful. This is a great date night experience! Highly recommend giving it a go!
Great show. Decent meal. Staff was attentive. Nice seating, not as cramped as some.
The atmosphere is amazing! The drinks we had were delicious (2 on menu, 2 off menu). If you order the sampler, Id recommend sharing it with a friend as its a lot of food! All of the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be going back!
If there was a.possibility of giving 6 stars I would.I had purchased tickets for MADDY SMITH. After her original show date was canceled, and then rescheduled, I realized that the new date was the same weekend. I was going to a music festival with my daughter in Orlando Florida.I unfortunately had to ask for a refund, and within one week, the check was already at my door! I cant say enough good things about the level of class good nights comedy club has shown me.I cant wait to come and give this money right back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was my first time at the new venue. I enjoyed it very much. Its much more spacious than the previous venue. My only problem, as was in the previous venue , is the MENU. I understand its not a restaurant, its a club, but, its so overpriced. A soda is not free refills, you cant get a glass of water, only a bottle, and its $4.50 for that bottle. I love everything else about Goodnights except their menu.
Lots of fun depending on the comedian. Staff has always amazing attitude and they try to be fast. The food is good portions and the drinks makes a Jack and ginger just right. Restrooms are also very clean, which is always a plus. Will def keep coming.
Bought VIP tickets to see Nate Jackson. It was very confusing when we arrived. We were told wait outside but there was no formed line for VIP, then told us we would go down and get our tickets and then have to come back outside and stand in line. Then I was told that it was a general admission line, and that we would wait in the club until the doors opened. It was extremely hot inside the venue. The food was not great. The sea salt fries were extremely salty. The drinks were good.
Saw a comedian here. I like how they arrange seating and how ordering is completed. I enjoyed my whole experience here. Food is good too. Appetizers and drinks are overpriced, but entrees are a normal price.
This place is great! Food is good. Waitress was on top of it. The only thing they could have done better is give the lady next to me a warning sooner. Half the show she was talking with her friend and laughing really loud when a joke wasnt told. She also kept bumping into me - I honestly think she had too much at the bar downstairs.
First time in the new location. More spacious, but they still pack the place. Bathrooms are very clean. Service was very efficient. The food was pretty good!
The staff were very friendly, and they have a bar area that you can wait in before the showroom doors open. NOTE: There is a 2 item per person purchase minimum in the showroom, and items purchased in the bar DO NOT count towards this. It is not a big place and it didnt look to me like there was really a bad seat in the house (unless maybe when its really crowded, then I could see it getting a little uncomfortable). The menu is not big, but it seems to have a little something for everyone, and prices are about the same as you find everywhere else. They also have giveaways. My husband won, and it included 2 free tickets to a future show, so thats really cool. All in all, Id say it was a great experience, and we look forward to going back again.
Always hosts our favorites! Nice clean efficient venue. Excellent Staff and always prompt!
Food was good. Service was great. The show was great. Overall fun experience.
Seats are PACKED in, but thats pretty standard for this kind of venue. As a big girl it always makes me nervous, but the bench seating is plus size friendly and less having to squish between people. Everything else is positive! Sound and lighting are well done and I dont think theres a bad view in the house.
Staff is friendly, food and drinks are good, just an overall good time.
Friendly staff, food, and drinks were served pretty quickly. The seating area was a little cold.
Goodnight hosts great talent! Great vibe and the food is pretty good too! I enjoyedbNephew Tommy!
One room small but good the other room for large seating sucked. They over booked and there wasnt even table space for me and my guest to eat, we had to eat on our laps. We could barley see because the seating wasnt staggered.
First time in the new location. We expected it to be roomier, but sadly, everyone is crammed into the space at teeny tiny tables with teeny tiny uncomfortable chairs. I would suggest you eat and drink before you arrive because the food is expensive and is just cheap bar food. You are required to purchase 2 food and/or beverage items per person. For 2 people, the cost of 2 beers, 1 drink, previously frozen cheese sticks and previously frozen chicken bites tax/tip over $60.00!!!! Tickets for the show about the same price! GRAND TOTAL OF $125.00 PAID FOR ONE SINGLE HOUR FOR 2 people on a Thursday night, 730pm to 830pm (end of show)!!!!!! The comedian was pretty good, but the show seemed extremely short. Show was scheduled to start at 730pm, finally started about 740pm and ended at 830pm. There was an unknown opening comedian (that wasnt very good)! Felt rushed out, barely finished eating/drinking the required minimum. The headliner was 30-40 minutes maybe. Headliner was good but too short. Overall Disappointing. If there is more room in the new place, they have just filled it with more tables. There is no extra room for the individual paying to watch. Cost is outlandish. If you go, just get 2 waters $4.50 each or soft drink $4.00 each. Bummed out. Thats way too expensive for a single hour on a Thursday night.
Cool venue. Good seating. Steve Hostetler put on a great show!
Its a nice place with good food BUT after youve already payed for admission they require each person to order two items off the menu. ??? I payed for admission and planned to order food and drinks anyways but them telling me I have to was really odd.
The show was very enjoyable. The service was great.
Came to see Nate Jackson. Got to the venue early as the website stated that they had a waiting area where you could drink n chill until the show starts. Umm I got there and waited outside over an hour until the previous show was cleared out. It’s an amazing venue with good service but please inform people that they’ll be waiting in a line outside and that you never get a chance to enjoy the lounge area. Show didn’t start on time but it was definitely a good show.
While I enjoyed the show, the wait was ridiculous. This was the first show of the day and it took them forever to open the door after the website says to arrive extra early to get the tickets. The website said if you have accessibility issue to let a staff member know. I did but still had to stand in 3 lines to get in and wait to be seated. Luckily, I had someone with me to take turns standing and great people in line who held my spot when I could no longer stand. I no longer feel comfortable attending Goodnights alone for fear of losing my place in line because of my ability to stand being compromised.Yes, I could sit in the lounge til the showroom opened, but how would I have claimed my place in line that I arrived extra early for. Yes, I found out I could have gotten reserved seating...but why should I have to pay more to make the venue more accesibile friendly and the headliner was heavy on audience work and I did not want to sit in the reserved seating for that reason. I dont want to jump ahead of anyone in line. I just want to be able to have a way the keep might rightful place in line if I am physically not able to stand as long as your venue has people standing in lines 3 different times before getting in the show.
Five of us went tonight for my sons 30th birthday. We had a wonderful time. Show was great. All the staff was wonderful. Went to the 7:30 show and sat at tables 307 and 308. Our server was the best. Very sweet and accommodating. Drinks came out really fast. Was our first time there and we will be back.
The tables in the venue were laid out well and the two comics were really funny
Picked the wrong show, unfortunately. Air-conditioning was blasting in smaller room, apparently because there was another show in big room. Dont try the non-alcoholic cocktails if you dont want to get diabetes. But the set up and location was great.
Great new venue with good food and drinks and plenty of space. Seating near the back can hear kitchen noises and talking when kitchen doors open but it wasnt too bad. Employees worked really hard and worked well together. Booking tickets is very easy, make sure to book directly with the club because I saw tickets on other sites for 5 times as much.
Fun times. Glad they got rid of the beeping tablets lol. Efficient, comfortable seating arrangement. Wish the ticket fee wasnt so exorbitant. Feels like Ticketmaster but people are very friendly and comics are very funny. Good lighting, music, and very cozy.
I have been several times. The comedians have been great! The atmosphere could be better. The tables/chairs are crowded into the space, and they are small. I think they should consider theater style seating like Cine Bistro for more comfort. Great entertainment though!
I gave 3 stars instead of 1 because I like this comedy club in past. However last week I was put in the worst seats in the club. I was put in front of a table facing the stage and other people behind me were facing the table behind me and the stage. There was no realistic way for me and my guest to share the table due to the set up so unfortunately we had to leave b/c we wanted to be able to order some food while we watched the show. There was nothing in front/next to me to put my food/drinks on. I was facing the audience and stage. It was very ubcomfortable. Almost like they just stuck 2 random chairs with no table in the middle of the club. So we pretty much just donated to the club since we couldnt comfotably watch the show and left to grab a bite elsewhere.
The new location is nice. Getting in for the show was a bit chaotic. The drinks we had were okay. I didn’t have any of the food, but my friends liked the fried pickles.
You can ignore most of these reviews they told us there was a bar but we had to wait outside These are people who have never been to a comedy club. For a sold out show this would be the case at the Comedy Cellar in NYC or any legit place in LA. They use a similar setup here. Most nights you can go grab a couple drinks at their bar before and go see your show. Alot of times the comedians hang around after. For packed nights things wont run as smooth. The staff is friendly and even the local comedians and emcees here are solid!
We had a good time the show was great very funny . Food was excellent.
Great time here on Saturday night. Came to see Brian Posehn and he was hilarious and the comedian that opened for him was just as funny and I hate that I missed his name because I would pay just to see him. Club is intimate but staff were very friendly and accommodating. I paid a little extra like literally $5 to have reserved seating and it was definitely worth it. We had our own little two top. We did not eat but customers around had food and it looked good. We just had a couple beers which were cold, but mixed drinks also looked great and prices were on par for bar around $11 and generous. They really have their system worked out...you have to pick up tickets when you get there but it moved like clock work and despite being a smaller venue, parking was easy and when show was finished they got you out the door, into your car and on the road in like 5 minutes. Very professional. Will definitely be coming back. Thanks for a wonderful evening of laughter.
Exactly what you expect a local comedy club to be. Intimate, decent sound, decent lighting, no trouble maneuvering between tables, house staff seats you and wait service during the show is non-intrusive.
Went to see Jess Hilarious, she was great; it was a good date night. Why the 3 stars? Because no amount of laughter could make up for the HORRIBLE seating arrangement. The way everyone was piled and squeezed next to each other was ridiculous and disgusting. I had to share 1 small round table amongst 6 people! That was the most uncomfortable venue I had ever been in & it sucked because Im not familiar with any other comedy club around the way, but nonetheless unfortunately I wont be going back. The seating arrangement was just too disappointing to sit through anymore acts.idc who would be performing, it is not worth the money. And definitely eat and drink before going. Especially water. Youll be paying like $7 for a water bottle.i know you gotta make money. But gheesh.
Not a big fan of the new location. There isn’t much of a stage, the comics are almost floor level, which didn’t work well last night for comedian Brad Williams, who is a little person. Was hard to see him. Stage needs to be elevated, plus, I’m not even really sure if it even seats any more people than the old one. Has a nice bar though.
It is a really nice place to relax and enjoy the entertainment there. The establishment is clean, and the people there are professional.I highly recommend going to goodnights comedy club. I know youll have a great time.
This was my first time, a really fun experience. If you want food during the performance order early because the serving staff has lots of tables & you could miss your chance. Also the old location sign should be removed, I went there first by mistake.
Awesome place! The vibes were great. I laughed to tears the whole evening. The staff were very polite and the drinks were great. The spinach dip was really good and hot. Super quick service and the comedian Joe Gatto was the greatest. We are huge fans and love a good laugh. We will definitely be coming back.
First time visit, really enjoyed the venue. Ordered the sampler, it was a lot of food and was pretty good. The main room is just the right size... small but not too small. I ordered reserved seats and was in the second row. Would not hesitate to see another show here.
Overall a fun place. I was expecting food served inside/delivered to your table but its (different nightly?) food trucks. The email I received with the ticket numbers included a menu, but I believe thats no longer valid. Minor inconvenience as we were expecting to eat here but we ended up finding a great restaurant that was still open after the show. Seating arrangements are above average compared to other venues Ive been to - theres actually space to get up and use the bathroom or whatever without inconveniencing at least 30 people and the chairs are comfortable. Drink prices are SKY HIGH. *Wooo* My lord. 2 people, 3 double mixed drinks, over $60. I paid less for the show. Now for why the star was removed - the first 2 drinks came out almost half way through the show. The third drink came almost at the end. Come on now, if we wanted to have some drinks at the end of the show we wouldve waited to get home or gone to a place after that doesnt charge $16+ per drink.
I always have a great time! 3rd time at this location and its a much more inviting space. Cant wait for the next shows!!
Visited this place recently for the first time.Staff members were nice and attentive throughout the whole show. Decent food options and taste was good for the type of establishment.
Nice spot in a nice plaza with plenty to do before and after an event
I’ve only been to the new location, but it is a good room.Clear sound system.excellent staff and friendly. Good crowds with a good mixture of good diversity and I’m from Boston and seen COMEDY in San Francisco and New York and I think North Carolina is where it’s at.Saw Dave Atell ..both openers were local and smart (helen wildy & matt white) representing carolina comedy. Also saw Rachel Feinstein on separate occasion.Plenty of parking. Reasonably priced. I don’t know if it’s wheel chair accessible from the front stairs that go down a flight, but I believe I saw an elevator.
What a great night! We had a blast!
I was not aware thats it down in the basement so you have to go up and down stairs. With bad knees made it difficult. It did have an elevator though for the handicapped. Then the chairs in the bar area are not made for people with bigger bottom bottoms. So trying to sir in the chairs and wait is almost impossible. The ticket lines are very confusing as they say one thing but will have you doing something different. Outside of that everything was fine.
We went to the 730 show on Saturday.and had a fantastic time. The food at the restaurant was delicious and Desmond was an amazing waiter. He really hustled and made sure everyone was attended to and taken care of. Our food took a little longer than expected but he ensured that we had seats so we didnt have to rush. Extremely pleasant and helpful person. The show was great (Titus). The waitress in the show was a little rushed. We got our bill at 830 and the show did not end until 930. Drinks are a little pricey but that is kind of expected. With that many people in the crowded showroom it would be nice if they would turn the ac down. By the end of the show it was hot. All in all a great night.
My husband and I have been attending shows at Goodnights since moving to Raleigh in 2011, it was Charlie Goodnights then. We were even present for their last show in the old building with Luenell. More recently, we attended the Ali Sadiq show. If you’ve been to Goodnights you know the seating is “tight”. Well, we were seated behind a couple who were clearly over-intoxicated and the gentleman kept scooting his chair back into my knees. At one point the gentleman put his hood up and I was unable to see (I’m 5’2). In order to prevent any conflict I suggested to my husband that we leave. In speaking with the manager on site who was very nice, he informed me that in the future we can ask for a change in seats (this event was crowded of course). He apologized and gave us two complimentary passes to an upcoming show to rectify the situation. However, these tickets exclude “special events”. Today I called to see if any exception could be made as we paid our money for a “special event” and were not able to enjoy it at no fault of our own. The lady that I spoke with said they could not make any exceptions and we would “just to have to wait until something comes up that you are interested in that’s not listed as a “special event””. If you look at their site, any “established” comedian is listed as a “special event” therefore we wasted our money. As someone who’s frequented and supported this business for several years I’m very disappointed with this outcome.
Love the comedians.. but why does the staff seem so miserable? Dude at the box office was rude to a lady in front of me. Dude seating us acted like we were putting him out. Im coming back because the acts are good as well as the drinks. Hope the staff is in a better mood. If they are I will update my review.
Went to see Noel Miller here and the place is great! The drinks are delicious, the staff are awesome, and the club itself has a good atmosphere. My only complaint was that it was packed tight, but the show was sold out and even then we didnt have to wait super long to be seated and we were fairly taken care of. So if you like good drinks and comedy shows this place is a must-see!
Chris Distefano was great... but one particular member of the bounce staff was very unprofessional. Ruined the vibe for my family and I, we didnt have as much fun after interacting with him.
Love Goodnights! They have a great variety of comedians from all walks of life. We just saw Randy Feltface, the show was hilarious! The headliner shows are the best, but they also have amateur nights if youre looking for a cheaper option. The tickets are not crazy expensive though. The old location was really charming, but the temporary location at the old K&W is working really well. I love comedy and I am so glad Raleigh has a place like this. Highly recommend!
Very unorganized at the pop up location. Patrons arriving had no clue they had to go inside first because the doormen eventually left their posts and never returned. As cold as it was outside they should have had someone out there to let people know as they walked up, naturally you walk up and see a line, you just fall in line. Also, when I went to order whatever movie concessions they claimed to have, it was at a booth way in the back. The waitress said oh you could have brought food in...huh?! That was never disclosed. Also hard to see because the stage was so low. The toilets in the bathroom hadnt been cleaned as they had the hard water ring around them. This was a first Goodnights experience, but I dont know if we will be back even when it relocates. Communication is the key to a good time for people paying to attend. 2 stars for Shuler King would give it a 5 but not the club!
Decent venue, convenient location, well made drinks. Cant attest to the food, only had pretzel bites which were hot, crispy and tasty. Easy to hear and see comedian, not too closely packed to other guests. Staff were friendly, server was great (woman named Alex, if I remember correctly). The only thing I wasnt fond of was having to wait outside when I purchased reserved tickets. If the seats are reserved why must we wait outside, why not let holders of reserved tickets be seated upon arrival? At any rate, overall enjoyable experience, will return.
Cool place to hang out. Comedians are up close.Liked the old location better
I paid for tickets to see Michael Colyar and the staff escorted us to the wrong stage. We watched numerous comedians perform thinking Mr. Colyar was coming eventually, unfortunately it never happened. The show ended and we mortified when we didn’t get to see our comedian of choice. We spoke to the owner/manager on duty and they refused to refund our money. He said we can come back for another event for free and that was unacceptable. I paid for the person I wanted to see and was basically forced to watch comedians whom I felt were mediocre. If I get a refund I may change my review. I wish I could give a zero.
I went to see Deon Cole! I would have given them a 5 star, if they would have kept the air on. Turned it off as soon as show started. The fries are good tho, dont recommend the chicken fingers basket. It was not chicken over cooked. Everyone I was with was cooked same. NO CHICKEN
Great night!! All three guys last night were funny as hell! Shapel Lacey worked the crowd and kept it rolling. Waitstaff did great! The guy at will call welcomed us and shared information. We drove 1 1/2 hours and we will plan another trip soon.
The new place is legit. I miss the mystique of the old building but thisll do.
First time here, overall great place. Definitely come early to get in line to get a good seat. Food/drinks was decent nothing to wow over but my overall experience was great. It was a little hot too me because the amount people in that small space. I will definitely be back!
This club was nice overall. Its a little small so it can get crowded especially before they start seating for the show. My only real complaint was with our waitress. I think she was just overworked so I dont place blame on her, but she helped tables around us before she helped us even though we sat before them and then only came to our table once. My fiance wanted to order a second drink but wasnt able because the waitress never came back to her. I think they may need some extra wait staff.
Prices are fair. The talent is amazing and the staff very friendly and very helpful. We drove 5 hours to see a show here and it was worth every minute on the road. My sincere thanks to Goodnights for an amazing evening!
I enjoyed a show with my wife and we were pleased the overall experience was positive. Waiting outside on a hot day is not the best way to begin the appreciation of the venue. Some shade for those in queue would be a star-earner for some.
Called and spoke to a gentlemen to change a comedy show time from our 10pm time to 7:30pm because its still available. Refused to change the time for the same day in June to a earlier time available on the same day and with 2 weeks advance notice. Apparently easy requests are hard for Goodnights. You shouldnt have to pay for ticket protection to change a time on the same day for a tiny comedy club. More money gimmicks.
Really great space. Downstairs has a bar and full menu. Staff was super nice. Really fun vibe in the whole building. Upstairs has the stage and also has food served throughout the performance. Little tight as far as room went but it also made all of us feel like we were right next to the comic which was awesome. Well definitely be back.
Took forever to get someone to take my order and the seating is so cramped and tables are tiny
This place was fun for date night! Ive never been to a comedy club before and I really enjoyed it. Just as an FYI to people... There are a lot of people in a smallish space, so keep in mind if that is a thing for you. You also have to go up or down stairs to the bathroom. Im not going to say that they dont have accommodations they can do for handicap folk, they probably do, but it wasnt readily apparent so I would call if you need accommodations. But all of that being said, I dont think there is a bad seat in the house, everything operated like a well oiled machine, and the staff and servers were super attentive. Highly recommend for something different to do!
Great show at Goodnights on Friday! Pleasantly surprised, the food and drinks were great. Mediterranean plate, fried pickles and Spinach Dip. Moscow Mule and the drink made with Titos. 5 stars because of the show/food and show started timely. Meals were served upstairs which gives more of a Dinner Theater atmosphere. Seating was OK. Arrived early, 2 and 4 person seating. Not everyone had a table. I wish the owners would put some cash into upkeep. A little touching up would do wonders.
This review isn’t on the comedians, they were great. This review is for the place itself. We were sat in a table where we could barely sit it was so crowded, the table was behind us, meaning we didn’t actually have a table. They didn’t have AC, it was burning up in there. I ordered a margarita and it has to be the worse margarita I’ve ever had. I just don’t understand how a business can operate with such lack of attention to detail. Comedians were great though!
My 1st time there. My brother had been a few times but he was very upset this time. The waitress came to our table once and said we owed her a $6 tip. He said that the times hes been there hes never had to do a 2 item minimum per person. He wanted to leave but we had driven 2 hrs to get there. The place was small but I liked it. We sat directly in front of the stage. The sound quality was good and the food was good. I could only give 3 stars because the service was off and my brother said that it was not like that before
Had a great night seeing Joe gatto , the house comedians were good as well. First time here . We will definitely be back. A bit pricey tho, as you have a 2 item minimum but they dont tell you that the drinks and food you get in bar or factory dont count towards it. 140 bucks for 4 people not including ticket prices. A little steep .
The fact that they often bring in great comedians is the only reason they get an extra star. Other than that it was a one star experience. They have a two item minimum order, so two drinks, or drink and some food. Because of this we did not seek dinner before hand, so we were hungry. Despite the fact we were one of the first groups seated. Everyone elses order was taken around us, but they did not come get our order until way after the headliner started. It took long enough for our drinks to arrive, and I assumed she would be returning with our food. Well no! In fact it was not until she showed up with our bill she realized we still didnt have our food. The show was more than half over at this point. But the time our food did finally come out. The show was almost over. We did not have enough time to finish eating before the show ended, and they were kicking us out.To conclude.. expect a great show, but not service. You are cattle stacked into an overcrowded room. Forced to buy food and drinks that come too late to enjoy.
A group of us saw comedian Randy Feltface from Australia. He was great. The two other local comedians were ok, but I wouldnt have paid to see them. The service and staff were nice. The drink prices were what one might expect at any club.
August 15Thank you so much for our host,Ryan Davis who headlined and Marcus for your comedic talent. I have not laughed so hard since seeing Tony Rock, Jordan Rock and others back in March at your venue.I appreciated the free tickets for the night. Drinks and food were delicious.I have no suggestions for improvements. Once doors opened, it took a matters of minutes to be seated.I will definitely return.
The show we went to on a Saturday night had a great turn out and the acts were definitely entertaining. However, be warned that if you come even a few min before the show starts you are asked to wait downstairs in a bar area (which does NOT count towards the two item minimum), then when they call the show, everyone rushes for the stairs in disarray. Very absurd process. We figured it’s a minor nuisance for most people but still not a tasteful marketing tactic…
Ali Saddiq put on a great show! We sat at the high chairs near the curtain the performers enter. First time there, didnt know you can bring outside food; I know now! They serve drinks & snacks which are sweets & pretzels. We decided to go eat afterward.
Great entertainment. My family and I went to see Mick Foley do his stand up routine. The food sucked though and was ice cold when we finally were able to get our food and it wasnt even that packed. Ill Definitely go here to watch another show at some point but I will make sure to eat somewhere else in Raleigh where theres plenty of amazing restaurants to eat.
I love this place! They recently moved locations but sre still pulling top name comedians. Formerly Charlie Goodnights, it has heen a Raleigh staple for many years! I would recommend thst everyone who enjoys stand-up to pay this place a visit!
Fun spot for a date, drinks are a bit high in price
