My wife and I had a great time. Its a smaller venue, so theres no bad seat in the house. The sound quality was excellent, and the seats were comfortable. They offer food and a great selection of drinks, all at reasonable prices. The staff were friendly, and the show was fantastic. Theres also a bar area outside of the showroom.
Had a great time when we saw Akaash Singh for his stand-up. I recommend the Mediterranean appetizer and jalapeno poppers. Expect to spend at least $20/person with drinks/food due to the 2 item requirement. The staff was really friendly and helpful with seating, checking on you regularly without interrupting anything that was going on, on stage. Parking in front of the entrance was small and full, but there is a parking garage within a short walking distance which had a large amount of parking, especially for a Saturday evening.
Service was fast and friendly. The main stage was very intimate. It was cool to be that close to one of my favorite comedians. Conner OMalley was hilarious and so was his opener. I have never seen my wife laugh so hard. We had a great night. My friend also really enjoyed it. All around it was a great experience.
Went to see Trae Crowder tonight, and it was fabulous 👌He is hilarious and funny, too 🤣The staff was warm and welcoming when I came to the ticket office for our tickets. Both ladies were super sweet, along with the security guard. The host and wait staff were so nice along with welcoming too. It was definitely worth getting reserved seats as we were 3 tables from the stage. The 2 opening comics were funny, too, all around such a great time at the Helium Comedy club. You can get food too while at your table. Drinks came out pretty fast. Trae was taking pictures with his fans afterwords too. Wish he would have had some shirts, but thats OK. I got a picture of him. Hes definitely a class act, and his humor is spot on, not to mention his accent is fantastic 👌 would definitely come back for another show
This staff runs this place like a very well oiled machine: they keep you satisfied with food and drink orders and dont allow any funny business from unruly patrons. The place is very clean, the acoustics are good, and the scheduling of the comics seems to be on point. And the food is also great!
This place bamboozles people out of money. Not only do they not show you the receipt unless you ask for it. (They do everything on handhelds) They charge an 18% administrative fee that I was told goes to the performer.. thats fine, but why are the automatic gratuity prompts for the server/bartender based on the total with that extra 18% added? Not to mention, I got a double shot margarita and could barely taste any tequila. Although I liked the show and the comedians, I will not return here.
Food and drink are too expensive. 2 items per person is easily $20 or more each person. On top of the ridiculous online ticket fees, I dont know if it was worth it. The tables were big enough for 2 people but sat 4. We saw Randy Feltface and it was pretty damn funny. Wouldve been 5 stars if not for the price of their food and drinks.
Had a marvelous night seeing a show here a fortnight ago. The space is well sized and well positioned. The show I went to had a medium sized crowd and thus the show was quite intimate. The comedians put on such a good show, and the energy was palpable. If youre thinking of going, you should sometime. Its worth your while. Its fun! They have a two item MINIMUM order, but this includes food items. Most people already buy drinks, but if you arent a drinker the food we had was good bar food.
Terrible experience all around. The service-slow and inconsistent. The food-gross, I ordered fries because I knew everything else would be terrible. I don’t eat fried food with tons of sauces and that’s pretty much all they had. Fries were soggy. The drinks-worst Chardonnay I’ve ever had. Didn’t finish. Cocktail mule was tasteless and mostly ice. Also no clue how they select the seating. But they put me off to the side which was fine except then they put two HUGE ppl in front of me. I will NEVER go back.
Bought tickets to see Sheryl Underwood, our show was for 9:30pm, all I can say is the seating was trash, you literally could not turn without bumping into some one. We sat through 2 comedians with not even water to drink. We asked a waitress to take our orders, she said she would find our waitress. And never came back. While everyone around us, were ordering their second round of drinks. So at 12:00pm we decided to leave, before the show was over. We will not be returning. We will try the Laugh Factory next time.
First timer to this comedy club. There’s security as you pick up tickets. They did a purse check along with a wand body search. Security staff were extremely professional yet personable. Once you go downstairs to the stage floor staff seats you. The room is a nice size with ample seating and good ambiance. Food prices are expensive and the drinks are reasonable. There’s a 2 drink/food minimum per person with gratuity already added onto the total. Our alcoholic drinks were good and not watered down. Food was decent but if you have a party of four there’s not enough room on the bistro table. It’s just big enough for everyone’s drinks. Our server was excellent and professional. We went to see Adele Givens and she did not disappoint. I will definitely go back but will eat but we go to keep the cost down! Great establishment
I recently had the pleasure of attending Samuel Comroes comedy show at the Helium Comedy Club, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Comroes comedic brilliance had the entire audience in stitches, weaving humor seamlessly into personal experiences, including his journey with neurodivergence. The Helium Comedy Club provided an impeccable setting for the evening – from the outstanding food to the attentive service and vibrant atmosphere, every aspect contributed to a memorable night. The clubs attention to detail and commitment to creating a welcoming space complemented Comroes performance perfectly, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the evening. It was an unforgettable night of laughter, great food, and stellar service, making it an experience I cant wait to repeat. Hats off to Samuel Comroe and the Helium Comedy Club for a truly exceptional night out.
Never knew I would have soooo much fun at the Galleria. Very safe and fun! Drunks can be pricey ... but expected for the neighborhood. Will have to get there early next time to try dinner ... the wings that I saw looked very good.
Always enjoy the shows and drinks, but the food..... mainly the fried dishes are over cooked. Everything comes out hard as a brick!Update: attended the Lil Rel show on 08/04. The food was better than my previous visit. My issue this time was with the LOUD music coming from the kitchen during the show. It was so bad that even Lil Rel commented on it and called this venue ghetto. You expect that the patrons silence their phones and not cause a distraction, while you dont follow this rule.
What a great environment! Each team member we encountered was very nice and welcoming. The service was exceptional. I frequent comedy clubs often and have never received faster service or a more smooth operation. It was a pleasant surprise. The food, service and comedians were all amazing! Thanks for a great evening!
The 2 item minimum is not awesome, but we planned to eat and drink there to make sure we met it. The bartender was great about ensuring we got credit for the items we bought before the showroom opened. Loved the actual show! The drinks were too sweet for me and the food was just okay.
It was an ok spot. No complaints fr except for the kitchen. Ok so we got there, sat for about 3 mins. Was asked immediately wat we wanted to order. We didnt Kno yet cus wed jus sat down. Lady says shell return & she did. We ordered drinks. So now the show starts which was pretty funny. Now Im hungry. Flags the lady over to order & the kitchen was closed🤦🏼♀️. So I starved while watching everyone else still b n served food & eating. I was @ the early show which started round 6 r so so I was confused. Maybe its normal for Helium idk. Ive been to many comedy shows & this was a 1st for me
Awesome as always as we are now regulars with bookings into the summer. Great food too. The tacos are my favorite with hubby loving the variety platter
Last night (2/24/2023) was the first time I was here. All I can say is what a blast. My wife and I went to see Big Jay Oakerson which I knew it would be a great show due to me being a big fan of his. But this review is about the place itself. First and most importantly the staff. The staff was amazing and very helpful. Second the atmosphere was awesome. Third we did not have any food while we were there but the food we saw being brought out to other patrons looked tasty. I can tell you my wife and I will definitely be back
Paid extra for reserved seating just to get stuck in the very back 😶 couldnt even see the main act (Randy Feltface), much less get picked for the crowd segments. The opening acts (which were at least tall enough for me to see) were kinda lame, and I got told to shut up twice after hollering once. I understand shutting down hecklers, but this felt a bit aggressive, and led to a pretty dead vibe.At least my food was pretty good, and they did have a sign language interpreter, which was a nice touch.
Saw Randy Feltface. He was great. Club was great. Punchline drink was good. Ordered a long Island ice tea, which wasnt quite as good. Hamburger was surprisingly good, but chicken strips we surprisingly not good. Chairs could be more comfortable. But we sat in table 105, which is right up against the stage. We were 6 feet from the talent! If Randy Feltface could breathe, we would have felt it!
Helium Comedy Club at St. Louis Galleria is like a laughter-fueled oasis in the retail desert! Getting in and out is smoother than butter on a hot biscuit – no parking lot wars or navigating through a labyrinth of shops required. Once inside, its a carnival of chuckles, where even the grumpiest soul cant help but crack a smile. Its so much fun, youll leave feeling like youve done a thousand sit-ups...from laughing! So, grab your tickets, park stress-free, and get ready to giggle til it hurts – in the best possible way!
First time there. All the staff was enjoyable and easy going. Very friendly. We ordered the artichoke and spinach dip. It was good. Had the pulled pork sliders. They were loaded heavy with pork. They were also good eats. Ooooooh and an order of fries. Came hot with ketchup. The comedy show was excellent. From the warmup to the headliner. We will be back.
Ive always had a great experience here, but this time i bought VIP tickets and sat right in front of the GA seats and all the way on the left side (and behind a pole! ). Definitely shouldnt have had to pay extra for those bad seats. Id rather sit center stage and further back. Still, the comedians were great and had great service from our waitress. Probably wont waste money on VIP again.
The space is pretty cool, but they need to update where theyre located on Google Maps. It drops you at the main entrance of the mall which is not where the entrance to the club is. Theres also an 18% administrative fee added on to every check that doesnt go to the servers, of whom are all great. The club books a range of comics, so theres always someone new which is nice.
Ive been here twice first reserved seating and 2nd time general admission which costs more than reserved and both times I got terrible seating, they seat you so far back in the wings of the stage you cant see the comic that its like why bother, cheaper to see it on tik tok. Helium comedy club discriminates to singles who just want to fly solo by giving them bad seats. And Im not against sharing tables for a decent, not better, just decent view. Never have this problem at Funny Bone comedy club which has better service too.
Comedians were fine, not jazzed about the 2 item minimum, especially when its all expensive, and I already paid the fee to come see the show. Wasnt made aware of that until we got here. It also just smells like sewage, which maybe isnt their fault, but it certainly doesnt make me want to eat their food.
The club is fine but, as others have mentioned, that 18% fee and 2 item minimum realllly adds on to the bill. I spent $130 on 2 tickets and then got hit for another $45 when then bill came for fees and 4 drinks we had to purchase. thats almost $200 for 2 people at a small club! the staff was great. very friendly, but you could tell that a couple of the staff were ready to stop being friendly at the first sign of someone acting up and maybe not entirely thrilled to be dealing with stupid people. overall an OK experience but the cost added up quick, just know that going in. the free parking was a plus.
Love it and love the selection of comedians they bring! Great atmosphere. Nice staff! The only reason they did not receive 5 stars: The kitchen... I was eating raw hamburgers during one visit. They were cooking th food TOO fast trying to keep up with the volume. I was disgusted. This should never be the case. Otherwise, it is a winner!
Small intimate comedy setting. Seating very close to each other. Usually 4 to a table. You can RSVP your seat for an additional cost, or if you dine at the restaurant you automatically get your seats RSVP. Plan to arrive early for the best seating. 2 items minimum per person. If you dine at the restaurant, disregard the 2 items minimum.Im new to the area and Ive visited 2x in the last 3 months. I saw Country Wayne and Bruce Bruce.Laughter is good for the soul! Definitely will be back!
Just meh. They get good comedians but atmosphere is not great. food isnt good while being expensive and has taken through the first act to even place a drink order on more than one occasion.
Worst. Service. Ever. If I was a comedian Id never preform here. The Garage was packed full, like sardines. And there was only one waitress but many other staff just standing around, like the three different people that had to come fix the microphone with tape throughout the headliners act. It took the server over an hour to finally greet us and by then the kitchen was closed. We were told on our ticket food or drink had a required minimum. So we did not eat beforehand, expecting to eat there, big mistake. The comedians kept saying how our reactions were small or that a lot of jokes werent landing well, but really it was the fact I dont think my friend and I were the only ones about to go into a hypoglycemic shock. There was a lack of team effort and organization. I watched the waitress ask a table if they needed anything else while she was explicitly ignoring tables that hadnt been served yet, I think because she was clearly overwhelmed and no one was helping her. My friend had to BEG the bar for a water before she passed out, which if we HAVE to order through our waitress, why was there one waitress and 3 bartenders literally just standing around watching the show? Jokes on them we were prepared to eat a lot and tip well but we ended up taking our money elsewhere after the show and wont be back. Honestly Im embarassed this is the impression comedians are getting from St. Louis. Do better. They also have two Google business listings in order to make their reviews look better than they are. The owners are obviously more focused on taking advantage of people, rather than how to run a sustainable business and I would know I literally have a bachelors in sustainablilty and management.
This is a great club! Well definitely be back for future shows! Fairly small venue so thats great and they definitely have it down to a science! Plus the waitstaff was ON it!! We never had to get out of our seats and our drinks were never empty! We saw Drew Lynch and he was actually quite hilarious!
Very clean comedy club. Not really a bad seat in the house. Staff was super friendly. I will admit service was slow but you can’t be mad when someone is being friendly and acknowledging that it’s slow. Drinks are a little pricey but again my drinks were all strong and tasty so left satisfied. Great club if you want a fun night out
My 1st comedy club experience which couldnt have been any more wonderful!Showed up 5 minutes late only for the hostess to welcome me with ticket in hand, shortly after leading me to a front row seat where I got to see JP Sears and eat some salad/cake!A classic experience, very personal and intimate yet casual.
Very good experience and intimate setting. Prices are set nicely and the food is good for a comedy club. Everything cook to order so it’s a little bit of a wait but it’s not horrible. Drinks are nice and strong too. Give em a try.
Decent experience, liked that I was able to get two items meaning they had food too. It was a bit overpriced but overall a good time
Had a friend compete at the “St. Louis Funniest” competition. The first time I called for tickets, they hung up on me. The didn’t pick up my call for another 6 hours. Once I got my ticket, I was told that there was a 2 item minimum from the food menu. Never have I ever been forced to purchase food, especially with a 18% “administration fee”. Luckily, I read the other Google Reviews and learned to pay in cash, as they have made fraudulent charges to credit cards before. They definitely tried to take every nickel and dime from me. I asked for a receipt for my bill but never got one. I wouldn’t recommend.
As most comedy places its a two piece minimum. The food wouldve been good if it came out with any expedience. You go for the comedy but just know that the food/drink cost needs to be factored into the ticket price and just have low expectations on the food.
Definitely will stop coming here after all the fees and high drink/food prices...Penny pinchers. Weak drinks, mediocre food. Go to the Laugh Factory or Funny Bone.
Food was service was slow, small bar food selection at premium prices. I got a turkey club with dry, cold bacon and stale chips. The kicker: 2 drink minimum even if youve bought food outside in their own restaurant - management gets to cannibalize their own sales and anger their patrons at the same time, genius. I might come back for the comedy acts, but I wont be eating here first.
This is an awesome venue. The setup was great. I had purchased reserved tickets to be front row, and we ended up being so close I felt like I could have touched the comedians. It was packed but still comfortable, unlike some other venues Ive been to. Their soft pretzel bites and philly cheesesteak egg rolls were delicious, too. Will definitely go back!
Show was great. Food was terrible. Ended up getting food poisoning from their appetizer sampler
4 of us from out of town were there Sat night. The box office, security upstairs and downstairs were great. Inside of the club was different. How can you let a group of people go an entire show without offering any service? We really wanted to spend money but nobody came up to us asking if we wanted anything. We sat with an empty table for an hour and a half and no service. We werent hard to miss since we sat in front of the entrance and merch table not to mention the bar next to the entrance.
First timers wanted to see Nate Jackson n I think Nate was a little tired cuz he wasnt working the crowd like he normally does.
Terrible service charge policy. You charge 18% on every tab saying it is to pay your employees and gratuity is not needed. But your servers say they dont get that money and ask for gratuity! So tell me is it the club owners or the employees being deceitful?Regarding your reply... My name isnt Chris so I dont think Im the one confused. This is the wording from your menu...AN 18% ADMIN FEE WILL BE ADDED TO ALL CUSTOMER CHECKS LEAVING GRATUITY IS NO LONGER NECESSARY AS WE PAY OUR EMPLOYEES WELL ABOVE MINIMUM WAGEFrom your response, the servers response, and this wording Ive come to the conclusion that each of you are being deceitful.
It was cool. Nice vibe. I didn’t mind the 2 item minimum, but my bill still seemed high for what I got. Maybe it’s high taxes, added gratuity not sure. But I would go back and just drink, not order the food again.
Corey B was great! The food and drinks were really good
The food was way overpriced for the quality. The cocktail I ordered was watered down. There were no free refills on soda either. With a 2 item minimum inside the club, youd think theyd have something decent on the menu. The club itself is nice. The bathrooms are spacious and clean. The sound system was great. We had a good time but next time we go were eating somewhere else.
Overall it was a nice little room and a very nice staff. Food was descent as well.
Forgot his name but our server rocked! Whole venue is very cool.
Comedy was fantastic, as always. Drinks seemed a little pricey. If youre interested, they have some food options for you.Didnt like that we got wanded to get in. And i still got my pocket knife in through security. I didnt realize that the area was so unsafe. Will have to skip this venue going forward.
There is a bunch of rotating comics with jokes from last year who are spoiling your shows. They open for people we wanna see and say the same jokes from last year.Examples, Matt Price with his face tattoo dad joke, his vasectomy joke, his jail story, drugs, backwash baby. Its all old stuff from last year and i have personally seen it 4 times, not by choice.JB and his story about his son and calling out parents is old too.Ronaldo was nice with some new stuff but his opening ones were also heard before with no new material.I understand openers must be hard to find but quality control in terms of material should be enforced else its a stale venue with no interest in coming there cause once we tried to skip the openers cause of the stale content offered and you guys gave our reserved seats to someone else and made us sit in general admission so you can sell your food.
Very intimate. How cool to be that close to the comedian. Food was great and so was the service. We went for a girls night to celebrate a birthday. Show was sold out, but they found seating for us right away. Ill be back!!
The only reason why it wasnt Five-Stars is because the guy that answered the phone was very rude when I asked about accommodations and the staff seemed to be very disjointed.
I love going to the comedy here they genuinely have great comedians here. People you have seen get big and ones you know are headed that way. Friendly staff. The only thing you should know is come prepared to spend a good amount 20-40$ on food and the one drink I got was 16$ before tip. Thanks!
I have been to several shows now at this club and all of them have resulted in a wonderful and hilarious experience. The staff is great and helpful. The food is tasty and will compliment a cold beverage nicely while you enjoy the show. Dont miss a good night out here!
Its a nice spot! Food was good, show was great, and table service was ok. Our waitress for table 502 seemed frustrated. It was my first time going, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I will return.
The seats are extremely uncomfortable unless your sitting on the bench style form of seating. The seats are too close and tables are too small.. The food is garbage, tiny and overpriced. The drinks are watered down, overfilled with ice and overpriced... The staff is nice, the atmosphere is ok
Been here 3 times and every time Ive had a great experience. This is a great venue for a comedy show. Service, food and drinks are great.
Kris at the bar before the show- friendly & makes excellent drinks. Nice vibe before the show!!
They crammed us in like cattle. Other people had tables. My party was only given chairs. That would have been tolerable, BUT, they enforced their 2-item minimum with us. We had to hold drinks in our laps. Food wasn’t an option. We had nowhere to put the items they demanded we order. Do better, Helium.
Great venue. Prices on food and drinks are a little high, but admission is very reasonable, so it all equals out. Staff are incredibly friendly, and a lot of them are just as funny as the comedians performing. Really enjoy this venue
Weve been to three shows here so far and all of our experiences were great! All of the employees have been very friendly and attentive, including the servers during the shows. We had never been to a comedy show before, but now it has become a monthly date night we look forward to. Would definitely recommend this Helium Club to everyone!
The performance I saw was life-changing in a good way.The employees and management on the other hand were the opposite. During the show the wait staff were rude and never brought back my change after I paid for my drink. Security also got directly in my face unprovoked while the show was going on. The ticket takers and security kicked me out of there once the show was over without me doing anything wrong. When I go to see the same comedy trio again it will never be at Helium Comedy Club. They are unprofessional and aggressive.
It’s always nice coming here. I feel they should work on seating in the back. I just happened to be a lil late and didn’t get good seats but no matter who would have sat there it would have sucked. Just pay extra for better seats and/or get there early. Other than that I love coming here.
Nice for the first time being there good food good drinks..small but a A in my book
We went to see Gary Owen Sat at the 7pm sold out show. The show was great, we were there on time and seated 30min before showtime, 25min in I went to the front to see where our server was, she went to look for one, no one ever came, I then asked a girl waiting on tables around us, she never sent anyone. In total, I asked 4 different employees, yet NONE ONE EVER CAME TO OUR TABLE, EVER! The entire 3h we were there, no one came. The people at the table with us stopped to talk to a manager (younger gentlemen with dreads) as we were leaving, but we were over it at that point. I cant believe somewhere has a 2 purchase minimum, but no one waits on you... this place is losing $1ks just b/c of poor service. Truly upsetting experience
We went to Helium to watch Brad Upton and it was amazing. I really loved how the comedy club is setup. I believe the room is very well setup, we were in the back and still had a good view. I also like that they have bar service prior to the show! They were very well organized and started right on time. Can’t wait to come back!
Ive seen several male comedians here. Disappointing lack of diversity with an all-male lineup at the comedy club. While the humor was solid, the absence of women comedians is a missed opportunity for fresh perspectives. Women are funny too.
Ive visited Helium to see quite a few acts over the past years, and every visit is always a great one. I recently took my golden girls ( mom and stepmom ) to go see Lunell. The customer service from all staff in every regard is always very kind and extremely helpful. The food and drinks were great also, I highly recommend the blue cheese sliders. Lbs. If youve never been here, go ahead and catch a show, youll enjoy yourself for sure.
The comedian was greatThe customer service was horrible. The show started at 7:30. We were shown to our seats at 6:55. The waiter walked past us numerous times In which my husband tried to get her attention so we could place an order for food and drinks. The waiter had too many people in her sections. Unfortunately we didnt get to pls d a order until after the show started causing us to have to be distracted from the show & to speak loudly for the waiter to hear our orders
Not enough seating. Comedian Calvin Evans was ++++. Great show!!!!
Terrible customer service. my friends and I tried to attend a show a couple months back and unfortunately due to the weather the comedian was not able to make the 8pm show, which was out of the clubs control so we understood. we had the option to stay for the 10pm show or receive a credit. All four of us opted for the credit and were told we would receive an email. None of us received an email or any information on how to use the “credit”. We recently tried to use this credit and went to the ticket booth. The lady working went to talk to the manager who said we could only go to the 10pm show- we were there for the 8pm show. Her response was rude and despite the fact we originally purchased tickets for the earlier show we are only given options for a 10pm show. I have never been to a show here and honestly have zero desire to go now. at this point, just give us our money back.
Went to see D L Hughley and the show was great. It even started on time. They had everyone seated and was serving liquor and food when I arrived there. The opening act was off the chain!
I have them a five star only because I couldnt give a 4.5. The wait staff were wonderful, the ambiance was memories but they require a 2 drink minimum to even be there as well as 15% gratuity automatically added. They did note that their servers are paid well enough that you shouldnt feel the need to tip them but I suppose thats just an opinion about how we pay our wait staff.
We attended a show at The Garage, which is inside Helium Club. We got there early and were seated in the back by the bar. Mind you, there is No sound barrier between a very loud kitchen/bar area and the patrons. And they did not care. The staff started cleaning up from the bigger room half way through our headliner. Throwing glasses into the sink or their buckets. Dumping entire buckets of silverware and glasses into a sink. Talking to each other, loudly. All while we are trying to hear the comedian we paid to see...with no sound barrier. The waiter never brought our 2nd drink, but definitely charged us for it. Horrible experience and we wont be back.
Pretty over priced, but its clean and service has never been bad
I have been to the helium club a handful of times and always a great time. This time not so much. Supposedly they were down to one cook, and I understand how the service industry is dont get me wrong, but I think that they should have informed people there would be a very very very very long wait for food. We didnt even order our food and drinks until about 20 minutes into the first act. Then, we didnt get our food until 2 minutes before the show ended. As were trying to eat quickly, the server came up to us and we missed the ending of the performers act because she was talking to us about our bill which should have been handled before the show ended. That was really frustrating. I will say that our server was very kind, she also explained to us about how there were people who didnt even get their food in time, and a bunch of people were not wanting to pay. Well of course not because they wouldnt even of have had time to eat it. Also, our server was able to discount all of our food which I hope was done for everyone who dealt with that. 🙄 Overall, I was only disappointed because that experience. Never have I been to a show at the Helium and dealt with this kind of issue.
Really good comedians. I saw Luenell and I absolutely love her. The venue was decent but really small stage. I really hate to give a bad review because I had a good time seeing Luenell but the food was disappointing. We had not ate dinner so that we could eat there. It was literally chicken strips from the grocery store and really stale chips and a plain salad from a bag. We wanted to send it back cuz it was ridiculous for the amount we paid but we were more interested in the show and just didnt want to complain. The drinks were ok but they put canned pineapple chunks on top which is ok i just think they could probably afford to cut a pineapple and make it a little more classy.. But thats my opinion. They have big name people coming to do shows there so they should up their game a little. If the food was better they could make it an all around good experience and people will spread the word and want to come back.
I enjoyed seeing Drew Lynch, however the reserved seating I paid for was in the WORST location. I would have rather bought general tickets above the floor so I could at least see. There was a big guy in front of me, and my boyfriend had someone burping and sneezing next to him, so he couldnt even focus on the comedian. The food was WAY over priced. How does $23.99 with free water go to almost $40?! I felt overall ripped off and will not be returning unless I can pick my seats for myself.
Very cool place. Speak easy vibes as you go downstairs to the actual club. Drinks are very pricey though with hidden fees. 4 buckets of domestic cost us $200 after 15% tip at $7/beer, 5 beers/bucket....
This was not a good a experience. The food was terrible and with HAVING a two item minimum to purchase while in the venue is okay, my gripe is can the food at least be good and hot when it gets to me? I waited forever as they were under staffed and the comedians that came before the headliner were way better, not that the venue could help that…but if I could give no stars I would 😅The only thing that was good was my drink.
The show was sold out, so they were packed. Seating was very disorganized, and once you got to your seat it was very crowded. Other than that, the comedians were great serving staff was attentive. Food was ok, definitely not worth the price we paid. It was over 60$ for 2 orders of chicken tenders and fries a tea and one alcoholic drink
This is a great venue! Great acts, great service, well organized team. Extra thanks to the manager who accommodated my daughters vision impairment at the Marc Maron show. Truly appreciated.
Always a great show! However, watch for hidden fees on your bill. Four drinks and an order of chicken strips cost $100. There was a 18% administration fee, and another I don’t remember. I asked our server if she gets any of these extra fees and told us NO! So we tipped her $20. Just beware!
The service and drinks are great and customer service is awesome but I highly disagree with how they do their open mic nights. There is a sign up page online for the first ten people and the website states that you have to show up BY 6 pm to have a chance at the roster for the remaining slots. I was the second person to show up before the supposed deadline. Now mind you I came from out of state to try and get up there on stage but there’s no way of knowing if you made the list as it’s raffled off from a bucket and I still have no idea how they picked or who they picked as I left halfway through the show without any idea of how people got picked over me as I showed up early. The other comic was from out of town as well and was upset at how they do this. I’m not necessarily mad at not being picked but it should be stated online of how they do business because I would have chosen a different comedy club for an open mic instead.
My wife, my parents, and I saw a show tonight (1/28/23) in the garage. The comedians were funny and we had a good time however I feel like our good time was ruined by the bar staff SCREAMING at each other! It was very hard for a lot of us to enjoy the show when we are trying to pay attention/listen the the show in front of us.You could even tell it was hard for the comedians to stay on track with the show going on behind the bar. Really disappointing tonight however I will give them another shot in the future.
Great service, venue, and show! Will be back...highly recommend trying it out!
This place is simply AMAZING! Went to see Ben Brainard and I had never been to a comedy club before, but it was SO FUN. The manager Darnell greeted us when we came in and could tell we were newbies, he was so nice and helpful, really great guy! Our server was great, the food and cocktails were good, and the whole venue has a great vibe, really clean and comfortable feeling. The show was fantastic, the host BJ was hilarious and has great energy, the opener Zach was funny and of course Ben was fantastic and didnt disappoint!!The only issue I had (and I dont consider it enough to deduct a star, quite a minor issue) was the lightning for the photo op with Ben was poor, and we both look terrifying in the picture haha! But it definitely doesnt take away from what a great place Helium is and how fun the whole thing was! Will 100% be coming back!
A lot of fun!!! Loved it! Will go again and soon!
Nice venue for a comedy club. Food was very tasty but i felt was a little bit too expensive for what you get but guess I shouldnt complain since I didnt pay to get it in as I was a guest of one of the comics. Most of the male comics were pretty funny but I guess Im old and out of touch because I thought the female comics were too foul mouthed & nasty.
Great venue. Had a lot of fun. Clean and well set up.
Great seats. Food was delivered quickly. Staff was friendly.
One of the best comics Ive ever seen! Spent extra on reserved and didnt get seated until GA when we waited for over 90 minutes. 2 item minimum per person no matter what. We spent a premium to have dinner before the show and was required to pay for 4 drinks and/or food. I also experienced some racism when 2 African American guests refused to sit next to us. The management blamed us when we were more than accommodating and as a Marine vet Ive never been associated with racism. I also manage a business and my assistant manager I hired is an African American as well. The fees are insane and the venue sucks. Go to the funny bone. You can meet someone like DL Hughley and not be discriminated against and can get as many drinks or food as you want!
This place is awesome! Of course the comics were funny and we had a wonderful time but the staff went above and beyond. It turns out I mistakenly purchased tickets for the evening before. When the young lady at check-in realized it, she quickly made accommodations and changed our tickets, even waving the additional price increase for a Saturday night show. Then when seated, we were placed at a table by the wall that made it difficult to see and since the tickets were a Christmas gift for my son, I asked the staff if theres any way that we could get seats with a better sight line. The staff checked their book and within 60 seconds we were moved to a different table. I cant stress enough how grateful I am to Helium Comedy Club for their exceptional customer service!! Thank you for saving our evening and providing us with an amazing experience!!!
This place is very nice! We were here for a sold out show and they did an excellent job getting everyone seated and the food and drinks all came out quick.
Attended a show in the Garage on 12/17/22. Comedians were good so my two stars are for them and them only. The service was no where to be found!! Ordered drinks when we walked in 15 minutes before the show started and didnt get them until the show was in the last 10 minutes. Some tables never even got drinks. It was so hot in this room we were melting and couldnt even get water served to the table. It was so hot our friends fainted when she tried to walk out during the show. Both shows released at once which was stupid and over crowded. Will never come back to the Stl location.
Did not really get the joke from the comedians here.... Spent $50/person here on tickets plus the 2 minimum items, in exchange for 2 hours of trying to smile politely since we were assigned to sit in the first row... My face felt stiff after the show... Most jokes here for the night we were here are about human secreta, cursed words, and family violence. Well... at least I know it now, will not return here again.
Who needs a shrink when you can visit Helium. The food is good, the drinks are strong and its less expensive. 🤣
I laughed all damn night... Tony Rock was super funny, and the place was lit! Food and drinks were very good. Helium, Im impressed! I know yall like that now! 🤣🤣
Comedians and sour gummy bear cocktail were fantastic! However, the club itself is not. Seating was horrible. I was literally in a pile of people in a corner. I couldnt see the stage due to the chaotic seating. Ordered food that arrived 20mins prior to the show ending and was cold. Then we were rushed to pay 5 mins after getting the food. The poor quality of food and service ruined the entire experience. Then to see all the extra charges just made it worse. I had such an attitude I couldnt even laugh anymore smh.
Always a great place to see comedy. Great service and great entertainment.
Jordan the manager helped us and was amazing to work with!! Great guy!!
Went there to see Ginger Billy. The show was awesome! Atmosphere and service were great!
Had a wonderful time. Helium is a fantastic venue, allowing great viewing at all seats. Service was prompt. Everyone I spoke with that worked there was friendly.
Great comedy acts but they arent non-drinker or designated driver friendly. $4 for about 4oz of Pepsi in a glass full of ice and no refills unless you pay $4 for another one. Of course, neither the menu nor my server mentioned the no soda refills and I was presented with a bill for 4 separate sodas I drank over the course of 3.5 hours. After taxes and tip, I ended up paying $20+ to drink roughly a pint of Pepsi. Almost every establishment that serves food and drinks does free refills on soda especially when they charge something outrageous like $4 in the first place. The ones that dont offer soda refills usually say so in their menu. Do better, Helium Comedy Club.
Staff were helpful. Nice atmosphere plenty of seating in the bar/ lounge area. Clean restrooms. Showroom was nice also, my only complaint is with the reserved seating. It is really compacted tables practically on top of each other, no room really to move around. Unless you like being right up on the stage I wouldnt waste my money on reserved section.
I was charged 18% administrative fee. Why?I was charged 22% tip, which was not what I approve. I was shown a different tip option on their computer pad. Our drinks were weak. Our food was cold. I didnt notice the overcharged until I made it home. I reached out to management. They refused to make any adjustments or refund. This process seems to be taking advantage of their customers. Very disappointing.
The show was awesome! The service was a joke. We were there two hours early to get our tickets and were seated 45 minutes before show time. We showed up hungry on purpose because we planned on eating here. The server was no where to be found. I had to leave the show room twice and miss parts of the show to go out to the bar and order drinks myself because the server was MIA. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unfortunately.
Had some good times in this mall basement...can get cramped...patrons have always been as nice as can be
Great place! Always clean, and I dont just mean the last year or 2. Always. The staff is incredibly friendly & helpful, and seem to enjoy being there. The food is good & the drinks are strong. The 2 ITEM purchase, as opposed to DRINKS, is an appreciated alternative to people in your party who might not want alcohol.I also appreciate the health protocols you have in place. Common sense safety & personal responsibility on the patrons the way it should be, not overly restrictive or invasive. If Im sick or worried about it, Ill stay away. Its nobody elses right to tell other people where they can/ cant go, or denying you a full & successful business.Ill be back over & over!
My wife and I went to a show at Helium on Valentines day. They had a special package that included reserved seats and chocolate covered strawberries. We walked in right as the show was starting, and we were shown to our seats, which were definitely in a good spot, in spite of a full room. The service was great, and the show was even better. The room felt perfect. Dark, quiet, and I loved the mural on the stage that acted as a back drop for the performers. Add to all this the convenience of parking. From the time we pulled into the mall to the time we were in our seats was less than 3 minutes.I look forward to seeing more shows here and I definitely recommend it to others that also love comedy!
Wait was a bit long but good. Got pretty crowded as well before we got seated. The place is good not a bad seat in the house. Good lighting and fun atmosphere but our waiter in the place didnt come back till the show was mostly over so we only got one drink when we wanted to order food. We werent that mad because he looked like he had a lot of people and we get that. But just a quick stop by would have gotten more of our money and probably a bigger tip. But we had a good time overall and TJ Miller was great!
Second time going there with the first being fantastic and the second being super uncomfortable. We were packed in the room like a bunch of sardines. I know you get better seats the earlier you get there but you must know how many people can comfortably sit in the show room. Servers and staff couldnt hardly get to us if they tried. We were able to sit down in the corner of the room because another group made room at their already packed table. I love going to comedy shows but I would definitely skip this venue next time.
Yesterday was my birthday, my boyfriend took me to The Helium Comedy Club as one of my surprises. I really enjoyed and had a fantastic birthday! I loved 😍 how youre so closed to the stage that you can almost reach out and touch the comedian. Up close.... The atmosphere is so nice and cozy 💕 You can order drinks and food from your table. The waitress are on point 👉 I really had a nice time! I give Helium Comedy Club 5 stars 🌟 🤩
Theyve made improvement since my last visit. Its a good idea to get there when the doors open (30mins or so before show time) youll get better seats and you can put your food order in. If you get there at show time you might be waiting for food service because by that time servers are fulfilling orders. It seems like now you can pay for your food with a card right there with the server instead of them collecting all the cards and taking them to the back to ring out. I still prefer and recommend cash . Food was great! Great Venue! Great Comedian!
We had a fantastic experience at this venue. The comedy was outstanding and the food came out super fast. If you’re looking for comedy relief, check them out.
Really enjoyed this club! I will say the service is a bit slow for food and drinks, so you almost have to order a few at a time, but its understandable when its a full house. Also if you dont have a group of four and they sell out, you may be put at the same table with another couple. Didnt bother my husband and I, but for others it might! Overall good experience. We will be back :)
Came to see the are you garbage show. Some guy was clearly over served and was being a super creeper and was putting his hands all over me and fortunately he was eventually asked to leave . It was alrwsy so uncomfortable that I just left before the headliners even came out. They really need to do a better job of not over serving or keeping out belligerently drunk people.
My high rating is for the comedy, which was excellent and worth it with the $5 October tickets and 2 item minimum. Helium lost a star due to the food. I ordered coffee that never came after I paid for it. The waitress offered to give me something else instead, so I got a beer I didnt like, but would have preferred what I ordered. They did not have any beers on tap and no local craft beers. They also kept asking me to pay when I already did. I think they were running low on chicken because the Ceasar salad was 50% croutons (not exaggerating). I ate most of them (like 2/3), but then couldnt take it anymore (remaining ones in picture). I swear, there must have been 50 of them and almost no chicken (maybe two bites total) or lettuce. The dish I got was maybe an inch deep and most of it was croutons.
Headliner & opening acts were funny; food was good; meet & greet with headliner was a surprise to have photo taken with our phones
I always enjoy coming to The Helium..but Ill rather pay more to enjoy myself at my own table than having to sit at this kid size bar stool with people you dont know. How is a table of 4 suppose to sit their food and drinks, especially when its a 2 item minimum. They never came to clean the table to make more room. But food good. Drinks were good. Just re think seating👍🏼
Writing this review before the Ali Siddiq show even started. This place is packed like a sardine can. Dont bother buying reserved tickets thinking that you are goi g to have any more room.4 people packed to a toddler table. Third and last time coming here. Never get my money again.
This place has a 2 item (drinks/food etc.) minimum and if you get your drink at the bar and bring it into the auditorium it doesnt count. If they wanted more stars, they shouldnt have forced us to spend $50 on terrible food and overpriced drinks. The artichoke dip is just microwaved cheese with some frozen spinach flakes thrown in.EDIT: Here is my reply to your reply. I never suggested that I had an issue with minimums in general. My issue was that a drink at the bar ordered 30 seconds before the show starts should absolutely count towards that minimum. Does the bar not count as part of the club? Im fully aware that minimums are standard in comedy clubs; the point is that here they are exploitative.
Awesome club, I accidentally bought tickets to the wrong show but the staff understood and did everything they could to make our night great and it was just that. We saw Zach Noe Towers and he was hilarious
Appetizers are delicious. The chicken fingers were nice and crispy. The drinks are good, and you can carry your food into the show room. The acts Ive seen so far were great, and the staff are friendly and professional
First impressions make great reviews right? Because thats what you want to know about when checking reviews in the first place. For my wife and I, this was our first time attending Helium Comedy Club. I would have to say it was an outstanding experience. The lighting was perfect for the ocassion and service was punctual and polite. We were there to see Drew Lynch and they were every bit as accommodating to everyone who wanted a chance to meet with him and the opening comics. They were super apologetic about the wait and the host was definitely entertaining to his guests waiting to meet Drew. The drinks were pricey but only mildly for the city. For a frame up reference, draft was $6-$6.50. The only reason Im not giving a 5 star rating is the parking. Venue parking is very sparse so almost definitely youll be parking in the lot to the mall. Otherwise, quite the pleasant experience. I would recommend to couples for a date night or friends for a night out.
The service the last two times we arrived was horrible.(Bruce Bruce and Corey Holcomb)Bruce Bruce never got food barely received drinks.Last nightDrink order took forever. We received HOT Ginger Ale WITH NO ICE OR GLASSES.Requested two glasses with ice .She brought two glasses stacked inside each other..STILL NO ICE…….Never received ice..Understanding staffing issuesIf you require two item order per person. Please make sure the service meets the requirement being you charge 18%!!!
The show was amazing. The food ok. But I did not appreciate the fact after we ordered from the bar all our food and drinks they never told us we could order in the show room not to mention we have to order from the shower room two items per person. Other then that it was a great time
Had a great time. Was a lot of fun and not extremely expensive. Only complaint was that they have a 2 drink minimum which isnt a big deal so I bought them plus a few while waiting for the show to start, but then when the show started the waitress that had my area during the show was kind of hateful about it, she said that I needed to buy 2 more during the show and that the 5 that I had already bought didnt count, even though another employee had signed my ticket saying I had bought my 2 drink minimum for the night and I was told by several other employees that the 2 drink minimum covered the entire club.
I would give no stars if that was an option. The hostess that seated us was an African American curly hair with black glasses woman who was very rude. My party of 3 had been waiting since 8 pm to get seated for a 10p Russell Peters show. We were the first in line, and this lady was rude when asked why other people after us are getting seated in the front of the club, while she sat us in the back. She didnt even acknowledge the question being asked. Honestly if she cant behave appropriately and provide good customer service, she should not be working there. She placed 3 other parties who were in the front of the line, to the back inside the comedy club. She lacks customer service skills and they really need to reevaluate her behavior and performance. As far as seating is concerned all of the staff there need to be on the same page as to where people should be seated. They need to train this hostess to have better customer skills, as I and anyone who I speak to will advise everyone we know not to go to this place again. I also will make a point to describe this particular hostess to everyone so that they know the type of person she really is. This is by far the worst service we have ever received. Dont ever go to this club, because the staff such as the hostess are very rude. Also I dont mind paying a lot for dinner or tickets, but customer service needs to be good, other wise its not worth anything.
I went to a show here located in their Garage venue.Because the larger venue is right next to this one, its honestly incredibly hard to hear the comic sometimes due to the laughter in the other room.It also took a bit to get drinks going, but overall it was a fine time and Im sure Ill be back.
My experience was pretty good. The comedian that I went to go see was definitely on point. Now my gripe isnt with the act obviously cuz they dont really have control over that and the act was perfect. I was a little bit annoyed with the cost and the menu breakdown and then the fact that my associates I was with ordered specific drinks off their menu and then they got something else. And its hard to in most cases refute those things when it comes out served to you in a glass, if it was a bottle they would say something about it. The staff was nice, tiny bit on the higher cost side for sure. Overall the experience was great and the comedian definitely made it better. Aside from that great venue, very clean and well established facility and nice ambience. Aside from the drink mist have send the price and the menu selection I dont really have much to gripe about. Lol. But thats just at this point me being nitpicky so aside from that it was great
Pricey is the first thing you should know about Helium. Ive spent less on big name acts at fancier places.Theres a two item per person minimum purchase and food or drink bought outside the showroom does not count towards your total. The prices for the cocktails are high (11 dollars for the ones on the menu) but beer is cheap (4 dollars for PBR).The food was decent, I however do not think the appetizer sampler is worth 20 dollars. There are no free refills on soda so expect to pay 3.25 for each one.Our service was great and relatively fast considering the number of people and wait staff on hand. Finally, the ridiculous way in which you get your tickets needs to go. You have to pick up tickets 45 minutes before the show starts or they release them to the general public. Yes, even if you paid for them, theyll sell them and not give you a refund. The service fees are ridiculous when you take into account the two item minimum purchase. Just email tickets to people like every other modern place.
Comics are great. Nice venue. Service fees on online tickets are about 40% and there is an 18% administration fee added to the cost of food and drinks.
What an experience!! Preshow beverage, met new friends, and saw such a great show!!
Ive been to two shows at Helium recently. I recommend eating dinner elsewhere, unless you are fine with bar food options (outside of a hummus plate, Im pretty sure everything on the menu comes with a complimentary heart attack). But the staff is fantastic and the showroom is intimate which puts you so close to the performer you catch even subtle facial expressions and mannerisms, making the performers even more entertaining. Great place! FInd a comic you like and go see them there. Its a great time!
Make sure you get your tickets early. They were sold out the night we went but they got us in just in time, thanks to the ladies at the counter. Be prepared for $11 drinks. They were good sized drinks though and was an average price. 2 item minimum and need to get in early to order food. Great show, would definitely recommend!
I love this comedy club and had never been to one before. The atmosphere is amazing and the food was amazing! Our server, Will, was amazing and did such an amazing job! I cant recommend this enough!!
1st we were seated at a VERY small table just a few of rows in front of the stage. We didnt think it was bad UNTIL they sat two MORE people at our table IN FRONT of us. They really packed the people in there. Then it took FOREVER to get served. I suggest buying your 2 drink minimum upfront so you can at least drink them. The comedians were hilarious.
Great comedy show, food and drinks excellent, staff warm and welcoming except one staff member who was printing tickets. She never greeted us, smiled, or gave any eye contact and placed the tickets on the counter versus handing them to guests. Would have been 5 stars if not for the one employee. Kudos to the other staff members who made a great impression! Great show overall!
Came to see Fazion Love on Sunday. Place was nice and they had to very well organized. It was a little cold in the place but that is understandable. The food it self was great especially the cheese fries. Drinks was good as well. Everything is a little pricey but very worth it. if you go buy your tickets early so you can have good seats, although I bought my tickets about 3 hours before the show and still had really good seats.
The show with Shuler King was excellent, he was great and so was the opening guy. But the food was cold and we didnt know that their was an 18% gratuity on your bill. I tip and dont mind doing it but let me decide on what I chose to give.
I was gonna leave an honest review but instead Im just gonna leave this here:One day I WILL Headline this club.... Mark my words
Enjoyed the show; less tables and people, so social distance was nice but still felt cozy. Cant wait to go to another show. Had an elevator available for those that cant do stairs, food was in a covered recyclable container.
I was a little salty when I bought tickets it was not made clear by the people that I was also going to have to buy two items per person in the showroom. I went to eat somewhere else and dont drink anything except water, so when I paid $50 for two tickets to see a show it would have been nice to also know at a minimum it was going to be an extra $13 (the cheapest thing on the menu is a soft drink at $3.25.) its not a lot of money, but again it was annoying. The venue is really nice though. Its a great set up for a comedy club.
I enjoyed every minute it. I wished Id only knew how they pick the seats for the reserved. I wouldve loved to be right in front. I had an amazing time and the staff where working their butts off with a smile too. Food was great. I want to Def come back
I bought tickets to the ti show for my fiancés birthday and emailed and asked them if we could sit up front, they told me that they couldn’t make any promises but would do their best to accommodate us. We got there and was right up front that really made his night I appreciate it so much
I go to comedy shows at Helium at least a couple times a year since theyve opened in the Galleria. The venue is small, as youd expect from a comedy club located in the basement of a mall. The shows are reasonably priced, as are the drinks. 2 item minimum is a standard, as is the idea that comedy is live theatre and should be treated as such. Hecklers and other disruptive people arent typical in my experience, but arent tolerated. I truly appreciate that. They also offer a lot of ticket giveaways for well known comedians. Highly recommended giving Helium Comedy Club a try.
Great shows, service and food is pretty good! Process for entering needs some WORK and seating is very restrictive. So get there at least 30-45 minutes before showtime.
Parking was fine. The venue was fun and the service was very good given that the whole room filled up at once. It got really hot towards the middle of the show, so dress appropriately!I truly did enjoy myself and it was one of the better venues Ive been too. Will be back when there is a show for me!
The fees are ridiculous. You pay a service fee when you purchase your tickets. (Normal), an 18% adm. fee on your bill after you’re seated and $3.25 for each item you DON’T order on their 2 item minimum purchase requirement. So basically, you can pay upwards of $40 in fees just for sitting down in their establishment. Oh and how about the fee for not purchasing something is NOT posted ANYWHERE so who decides what that amount will be and if it will change from person to person??🤔 Is this even legal? Now let that soak in!
Ive been to the helium club twice and really enjoyed both shows. Both times I purchased VIP tickets. The first time the seats were great, the second time we sat in the VIP section all the way against the wall. I would prefer not to sit against the wall because there are people constantly walking in front of you and its hard to see. Other than that the show was great the food is good considering its a comedy club and I would definitely go again.
Great atmosphere. Good acoustics. You can here the comedian well no matter where you sit. Great selections of comedians. The food is good. Im giving a 4star because the service is always slow. And they got our order wrong 2 different visits!
Really cool place to be inside the mall, the waitress was awesome, they took a long time to serve my food however it did finally arrive fresh & hot oh & free. While enjoying the show, I was approached by staff asking me to stop interrupting the show (blankstare)or I would be asked to leave. NO PROBLEM!! BEEN PUT OUT OF BETTER PLACES. I have NEVER been to a comedy show where you couldnt be loud & engage. For crying out loud its a comedy show not a church function. I think that was rather ridiculous 🙄 But hey I guess everyone has theyre own rules.
This is a great location as well as not a bad seat in the house. They always have some1 in the rotation that you really want to go out and see live..This would have got 5 stars but there are no provisions made for covid, seating is very close they definetly try to fill every space and some.. the servers were great even in a tight squeeze they were polite and efficient.
