If you are ever in the Notre Dame or surrounding areas, don’t miss out on this gem! We had never been but we will be back for sure! Owners Amy and Dawn made us feel like family as well as our initial bartender Dana. Wings, fries and all appetizers were the best flavor and so fresh. Met old time friend of owner and again Lisa made us feel like family. This my friends is how customer service should be and they cover every inch of customer service. Came back Saturday and so clean and inviting again! Great show with very friendly entertainers! Miss them already and wish Columbus Ohio bars were always like this engaging with their customers! Thanks again!!

The food is incredible!! Kristen is an awesome bartender and was a blast to socialize with. We went back a second time the following week. Amy the owner and mastermind behind the menu, puts her heart into making increadable dishes. An overall excellent experience.

Went here for Trivia Night one time and wanted to try the food since I heard it was good I gotta say…. BEST burger and fries I’ve had in a long long time. They were both seasoned so perfectly! Will be back again to try something new! 😍 great atmosphere also and everyone is friendly!

My boyfriend is new to being an alli and I begged him to come to his first gay bar and experience the love generated by this community. He absolutely loved it! We played kinky pictionary and met the nicest people🥰I was floored by how delicious and fast the food was and the bartender and owner were so welcoming it was like returning to a sorority. I even got a hug before I left and cant wait to go back!Hoping to find a new best friend 🥳

I want to come back when I can spare the cash. Everything was wonderful here. Food, service an atmosphere. I only wish I could have stayed for the show. Burger had a bit too much mustard. But still enjoyed it. The breaded pickles were the best.

I love the r bar. Im a little younger, but they have 13+ drag shows for teens which is epic. I came here with my mom a couple weeks ago and yesterday. A couple weeks ago, they were having a drag show and we were like the only people there, but they still have us a show. It was great!!! Atmosphere is amazing, *chefs kiss* and the food is great! I dont know what they put on those fries, but they are to die for! Overall great place to go for dinner, its not really a just a bar. Drag queens and kings are super nice and friendly

First time being there, the owner Amy of the bar treated us like we’ve been friends for a very long time. Staff was amazing and quick always quick to take care of us highly recommend, stopping in and visiting this establishment.

This place is awesome. Miss Amy and Miss Dawn have created the perfect LGBT Cheers for South Bend -- something this city desperately needed. Music Bingo on Wednesday nights is our favorite, but they also have excellent drsg brunches. Best part: they welcome EVERYONE.

Went in for the drag show, best in town. Amy had corned beef and cabbage on special so I gave it a try. It was wonderful, best I’ve had in a long time! Definitely recommend. (And the guy at the door is hot)

We always have a wonderful experience at the R Bar. Its one of the few places in the michiana area where all kinds of people can come and have a good time and mingle with no drama. The drag shows are amazing. We are here tonight for the burlesque show. I do recommend crying hair too it is surprisingly good as well. Particularly the mushrooms and fried pickles. I see this little bar doing great things and will probably soon out grow their current space.

I absolutely love this bar , the owner is so kind and everyone is so kind. It’s like a little family for the lgbtq community and they welcome you with open arms !! The entertainment is amazing , their always supporting our drag queens and kings !! I got to experience a burlesque show and of course it was amazing . Always good time at Rbar

Only bad thing I would say was thought the cover was a little high. The food was great. The vibe was great. The lady bartender was amazing and when eplained what I like she had a suggestion right away, also was very pleasant. The staff all very well dressed. The drag show was great. Was great to meet Amy for the first time and she how muck she and her wife put into this place. If in area again will definitely go back.

R Bar is a welcome and wonderful addition to River Park. Everyone there is incredibly friendly, and I will absolutely be back soon. Make sure to stop by for lunch too, always a fun environment.

We had come in as a group for the very first time on July 18th and saw our very first Drag Review show and it was AMAZING!!!! I have always wanted to go see a show and we ALL had a SUPER FUN time!!! Looking forward to the next time so we can come back to another one of your shows. Everyone was so great and very friendly and the MC was hilarious! YOU GUYS AND GALS ROCK!! :)

My wife Christine and I attended Sunday Bruch today and had an absolute blast!! The food was outstanding, with such a delicious variety, the drag performers were phenomenal and soo entertaining and the service was amazing!! Everyone was sooo friendly, including Amy and Dawn, the owners who talked with us after the show!! The R bar is a priceless treasure in this area as there are not many other business who are inclusive to us!! We felt safe, loved and appreciated and absolutely cannot wait until the next drag brunch!! Thank you Amy, Dawn and staff for such a great time today!!

I stopped in on a friend’s recommendation and I did not regret it. It was a Saturday night and there was a great drag show. I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of the crowd. I was lucky enough to get a pizza before the kitchen closed and event that was spectacular. I definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Giving this spot 5 stars just for the experience. Use to come here before they began doing shows every weekend. The atmosphere is right and the drinks are decently priced. All the bartenders are super attentive and look out for the patrons. The owners seem cool as well and will come up to talk to folks which is rare but nice. Can’t wait for them to be done with their hiatus and open up their new location, need more memories here.

To call the R Bar just a Bar is a disservice, it is so much more. I experienced this as a restaurant with a warm, welcoming, and exceptional service. The food was phenomenal; the burger was cooked to perfection, the brioche bun was toasted just right, and the fries were crisp and well seasoned. I also indulged in their wings which had a great crunch, the chicken was juicy, it was consistent throughout, and the sauces brought everything together. My group also tried their deep fried sushi rolls which they loved and made me jealous (unfortunately i have a shellfish allergy). I for one will return and I cant wait to bring my family and try their brunch as well as explore everything else they have to offer.

Seriously??? Don’t waste your time and money. I have never been so appalled in my entire life. How many rude people can be employed at one establishment?? The service was terrible, I actually thought they forgot we were there. A $10 cover, a $10 minimum on a card for watery drinks, blah food and being ignored. When I asked for the owner I was told she was busy! Later I saw the service speaking to a woman I found out was the owner, Amy. They both looked over at my table, Amy shrugged her shoulders and walked away, which is what I should’ve done when they charged me the outrageous cover. The couple at the next table leaned over and told me she treats her entertainments like dirt, pays them pocket change and expects more and more of them. Never again. I will never set foot in that hovel again and I have A LOT of friends who won’t either.

Went for dinner and a benefit show. Excellent food, excellent show, overall a great experience! Will definitely go back.

Visited for the first time recently for dinner. Dinner and service were great, highly recommend the R Burger. It makes me so happy to know that we have a great place with such a nice and welcoming atmosphere for LGBTQ+ community in South Bend. I am excited to come back at night and experience one of the drag shows!

This was our first time here, and we had a great experience. The drag show was great and the girls were amazing. The owner was super friendly and seemed so supportive of her employees, which was awesome to see. From the bouncers to the bar staff, everyone was friendly and open. Its great having somewhere you can go to be yourself and feel supported. We will definitely come back!

Came here for the first time to celebrate my best friends 30th birthday! We had the BEST time! The service was great, the crowd was awesome and the owner was OUTSTANDING. I’d recommend this place a million times over!Also, I can’t leave a review without mentioning that they make their own ranch dressing?! If I could order shots of that instead of whiskey, I would 😂

This place is amazing!! I absolutely love coming here! The bartenders are amazing!! Great food and drinks! The owner always goes out of her way to make sure everyone is having a great time and enjoying themselves!! Every time I go, it is very evident they care about the health and safety of everyone. They are on top of making sure people keep their masks on, social distancing, and consistently sanitizing. I can’t recommend this place enough!!

Talk about a place where you feel welcome. This bar is nothing short of amazing. From the amazing bartenders Corey and Chris, the absoluty delicious food, to the fantastic shows/performers. I can‘t get enough of this place!! This is the best place to visit and hang out at, no matter your age(over 21) or who you are. I will be frequently visiting this place more often. And dont get me started on the owner. She made sure that I had a spot to sit and relax, while watching the show, and still get superb service from the bartender. Cant recommend this place enough!!!

The owner Amy is VERY rude, underpays her performers and the service is slow. $10 cover just to get in the door and a $10 minimum on your card. No honey! STAY AWAY! Definitely time for some changes to be made.

I celebrated my birthday at the R bar last night with family and friends who had never been to a Drag show. We all had a great time, the people, the owner, the staff and the performers were all extremely friendly. We will all definitely be back soon and well bring anybody we can with us. Thank you!

This is easily one of the best bars in Michiana!The place is clean, the bartenders are fantastic, and the food is amazing! Plus, if youre interested in a drag show, youll be entertained for hours. The drag models always put on one hell of a show!Ive been going to bars for quite some time, never really finding a permanent spot until I discovered this place. Now, I dont even waste my time going anywhere else.No drama.No drunken brawls.What more could you possibly ask for? If I could give this place 10 stars, I would.Check it out, you wont be disappointed!!!

Tonight was my first time going to a gay bar, and seeing a drag show. Let me tell you, it was absolutely amazing. I loved every minute of it. The atmosphere was so comfortable and welcoming. I will definitely be returning!

In the five times that I have visited your establishment on several occasions now.As a pagan I feel comfortable in most bars that I go to. And your establishment show no difference. Your bartenders were just absolutely outstanding was in extreme ability to make the proper drinks the right way. not over pouring or under pouring they were absolutely perfect.It would definitely be a real shame to lose these two individuals I believe and I cant remember their names it was a young lady with black hair and a very tall skinny gentleman. Just was told who this young lady whose name was its Tish I believe. With individuals like this that pays so much attention to detail I definitely will be back thanks again for such a good time at your establishment

Very over priced, one could even say to the point of greed. Service could possibly speed up if a sloth were employed. Owners have been rude to numerous people I know, as well as paying performers pennies on the dollar to what they are worth!

Great space! The new look and style was amazing, compared to the old space. Drinks were good and inexpensive, staff was friendly and they kept it up through the entire night. DJ was great and kept the crowd on their feet right till last call.The smoking wasnt a problem, my clothes didnt reek of it when I got home and the atmosphere was just amazing! Its good to see another gay owned business bring something to the community!Look forward to many more good times at R BAR!

Really liked R bar but my friend just got refused entry because they showed a federally issued tribal ID card. Been in R bar before many times. Not very inclusive if you dont include people of native american heritage.

They have a great space for pool and darts and a large stage for shows!Food and service were good as well. Definitely would like to come back again.

What a fun night! I came to R Bar with a group of friends for my birthday last Friday, and I believe its safe to say that we have found our new favorite haunt. The space itself is quite large, including the bar, an open seating area, a dance floor, and an upstairs VIP-style area (open to all). Drinks were strong, music was mostly pop standards (perfect for the average gay crowd), and by 11 pm the place was packed. The only downside was that smoking was allowed indoors and so all our clothes ended up smelling like smoke. Small price to pay though! That particular night was Mardi Gras-themed, and the bar provided beads and masks. We had a great time until early in the morning and will definitely be coming back.

As usual, had a great night at R Bar. Every time I go there, the drinks that James Turner concocted were above and beyond flavorful. And, if the drinks didnt keep you there, the hospitality that Amy Gatchell and her crew dish out would. This place is by far the best place to be on a Friday or Saturday night, AND if you can sing, check them out on Thursdays for karaoke. Definetly getting a 5 star rating on Yelp from me 🤣

Great space. I am a non-smoker and have NO problem with the smoking. Bars are not supposed to be clean rooms. And, I absolutely object to the way we treat smokers in this country! Keep the smoking option and let those who are bothered go somewhere else! I would only recommend that, as the business becomes established and starts to turn some profit, the owners should invest some of that revenue into further improving the overall ambiance and quality of interior (finishes, furnishings, etc.) After all, us LGBTQ folks are known for our heightened sense of aesthetic! 😊

Most of the building was painted black. Which being a night club you would not expect much else I guess, but it could have been painted better. Even the beam was painted but not the ceiling. Smoking inside.Has a cover charge.:Update:I have not vistited the bar since the last post, however, I did hear they banned smoking. As a former smoker I have no problem with asking people to smoke outside.Previous rating - 1 star.

I want so badly to like this place The drag show was AMAZING but the owner is beyond unprofessional taking shots all night then snatching drinks out of people’s hands throwing them all over people. If you want to be disrespected highly recommend if not don’t waste your time.

This place is gay friendly, but this place should be called an anyones welcome bar because that is the motto here. My wife and i went here and had a great time every time we have visited. Fair drink prices, great seating, awesome entertainment and large dance floor

The bartenders are so nice and really the stars of the show. They work their tales off and have fun doing it! The drag fun, campy, and pretty. Facilities are clean!

Opening night was busy and fun. Love the multi-level aspect and space. Took a while for drinks, but it’s understandable as they were so busy. Moving smoking to outside would make this club so much better, however.

I spend a good amount of time in Mishawaka and have visited the RBar on multiple occasions. I can’t say enough about how welcoming the staff and owners are. I’m normally there late night, but despite the crowd, the service is quick and friendly. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely a place to check out!

To be a regular in any establishment should almost be an honor but NOT this place. It is horrid how THE OWNER of all people can be so crude and disrespectful towards his customers.it hit my heart really hard to recieve this amount of disrespect as a paying customer I can only imagine how the employees are treated..... I go here all the time im a regular there and it is by far the best bar ever and the staff is friendly and very fun the owners are amazing as well it isnt a bar it is a family and its by far the greatest bar around here I recommend going here you will have a blast the drinks are amazing and the food is even better so if your looking for a place to have a good time and to relax and have fun this is the place
