During my time at Lorraines Academy and Spa, Victoria Paradise stood out not just as an exceptional instructor in massage therapy but as a true mentor. Her personalized approach, deep commitment to student success, and ability to create an inclusive and supportive environment are unparalleled. Victorias mentorship extends beyond the classroom, significantly impacting my professional development and career in the military and massage therapy. Her dedication is a rare gem, making the program shine amidst negativity elsewhere. Victoria doesnt just teach; she transforms lives. Im profoundly grateful for her influence on my journey. Highly recommend her and the program to anyone serious about advancing in this field.
Loraines Academy & Spa isnt just about education; its also a supportive community where students thrive. With nearly six decades of excellence in education and wellness, Loraines legacy speaks volumes. Even if you havent experienced it firsthand, their reputation is undeniable. If youre considering a career in beauty or wellness, give them a chance! Their decades of experience, expertise, and commitment to student success ensure youre in good hands.
Attending Loraines Academy and Spa was the best decision I could have made to start my massage therapist career. The main reason of this was the incredible instructors Victoria Paradise (Ms. V) and Dr. Jaye Blackburn. I think very highly of them especially Ms. V. I appreciate everything she and Dr. Jaye did and do for me. I appreciate Ms. Vs knowledge and her patience. Both of them care so much for their students and that’s what makes them amazing teachers. Ms. V made me a better reader, which when I stated the program I hated reading. English is my second language and even though the program is tuff and fast, I enjoyed coming to class and study because of Ms. V and Dr. Jaye. Both of those incredible teacher will do anything to help. Ms. Vs experience and knowledge is priceless. I appreciate her so much.
I never would have thought that massage therapy was a route for me. But even despite the odds, I did and I am thankful to Loraines Academy and especially Victoria Paradise for being such an amazing person and wonderful teacher. Being able to adjust to different students with different learning styles isn’t easy but you did it seamlessly. I am so thankful to have had you as my teacher.
I absolutely love Loraine’s Academy. I’m currently in the cosmetology program graduating next month. The instructors are amazing and really care about your education. This school well-rounded and hands-on education covering all different types of hair, esthetician services, makeup, massage therapy, and even sales, marketing, and client retention. We also have a lot of fun as well from beach days to fashion shows. If you are considering other cosmetology schools look no further this is the place to be!
While Loraine’s isn’t going to be you’re most extravagant school with all the unnecessary amenities that you might find at other places that cause the tuition to go up, what you can be sure of is a staff that will go above and beyond for you as the student. As a previous massage therapist student I can say I really felt like my future career as a LMT was cared about. Victoria paradise really took a lead roll in making sure I succeeded and helped build my confidence while switching careers. Taking the time out to ensure I got help in any areas that I struggled. And even help getting employment after school. I’m very grateful for the instructors that I had and the school itself. If you’re looking to upgrade the quality of your life this might be a good place to start.
I would like to take a minute and thank this school!!! Thank you so much!! Im a professional Licensed Massage Therapist after attending here. Now Im on the road to nothing short of success. There are a few individuals Id like to give a shout out to starting with my Massage Instructor MS Victoria Paradise! MVP her initials speak for themselves. She is an embodiment of patience, skill, and vitality. Thank you for all you do!! Next is MS Johana and Jenna . You ladies believed in me when I didnt believe in myself. Thank you! I pray you all continue to do what you do . Creating Excellence one student at a time . GOD Bless You All 🙏🏽 ❤️ 🙌🏽
Massage Program:Can’t recommend this program enough for anyone interested in being a LMT. The main instructor Ms. V is the backbone to the program, and will guide you through and prepare you to become a tier above the rest in this field.
This place went downhill. Stole everyone’s money for all the teachers n staff to quit. 5k wasted on barley an education besides Mrs terry mrs Keyla and mrs Kristina.
Great experience! I chose to go here for the 600 hour clinical skin program. The whole staff is very supportive. I loved the hand on experience I had with clients that made me feel prepared and confident. It really helped me understand the consultation process and how to educate my clients on their own personal skin care. My only challenge was navigating different personalities at times in school. I think potential students should know that sometimes there will be disruptive students. Unfortunately this will happen no matter where you go to school and does not reflect the school itself. My biggest thank you goes to my teachers. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Loraine’s academy. I recommend this school wholeheartedly.
Ana did a fantastic job on my hair!! This student was not only professional but also very friendly. The best part was how knowledgeable she was about my fine hair. I loved my shampoo and blow dry and have continued going back to Ana. The teachers are really teaching their students how to truly be the best stylist they can be!!! I highly recommend Ana to all my friends. I look forward to all the new things she is learning so that I can return for even more services.
Loraines Academy is the best school I have ever been to! I graduated last week as a full specialist. Before I went to Loraines, I went to a school (Manhattan Hairstyling Academy) that closed down without any notice and left me without completing my course. Loraines Academy enrolled me the week before new classes started. They work with your schedule to accommodate your needs to be able to finish your course without any problems. The curriculum was great and I feel like I can jump right into skin care. My mom also went here 20 years ago for the nail course and loved it just as much. Thank you so much for giving me the education I was looking for!
I’m a current clinical skin care student almost to the finish line and i know for a fact i will be comfortable once i graduate and get out into the real world. Ms Erica is GREAT as well as Ms. Deb couldn’t have asked for better instructors nor a better administration staff🤍 If you’re looking into going to beauty school Loraine’s is definitely highly recommended🫶🏽✨
I graduated from the massage program last week and it was the best decision of my life. The small class and knowledge the teachers shared with me has prepared me to pass my state board and begin my new career. Loraines is like my new little family and I love it so much I will be continuing next week in their skin program.
My experience in Loraines Academy was excellent. As a student from clinical facial specialist program, I received the best training with very professional teachers, Michael and Erica. The staff was always friendly and effcient. And the service given to the community is invaluable. 100% recommended.
While working a full-time day job, I completed the 600 hour Clinical Skincare Program November 2020 and it was the best decision. I am now owner of my very own Spa Salon. The knowledge and vision I gained was so worth the long days. Erica is now my new favorite teacher.
I recently graduated from the Therapeutic Massage program at LA (12/3/19). Students are a priority at LA!! Can’t say enough about the instructor passion for conveying their knowledge and skills preparing me for the MBLEx! The support staff and admin. are fantastic!!Before attending I reviewed and spoke to other local schools offering the program. My decision to attend LA was based on the personable and professional nature of ALL faculty/staff, outstanding communication from the administrators and faculty/staff, the comprehensive curriculum, and academic accreditation’s. They have the total package at LA!
As a student at Loraine’s Academy and Spa in Therapeutic Massage I have had a great experience with a personalized education approach. I have been given opportunities to practice my skills, explore a variety of modalities, and explore part of massage that I had no idea existed prior to start school. I am so thankful for the small class size and the focus the instructors have on my success.
I recently graduated the skin care program and my experience was great. I got the job I wanted right away. I graduate on a Wednesday. Interviewed Thursday. Got the job Friday. Ms.E & Mr.Michael where great instructors, they provided me with everything I needed to work in the field. The schools staff was amazing especially Ms.Tashaya in making sure everyone got the hours they needed to graduate on time. My sister is now in massage. Needless to say all of me and my sisters will be graduates of Loraine’s.-Schamekia Thomas
I had an amazing experience with this school. The staff was always friendly and took their time with me. I graduated in September 2018 from the clinical facial specialist program and loved the program and my teacher Erica. If youre thinking about going to this school make sure you do a walk through tour to meet all the friendly staff!!
Loraines Acadamy staff is 100% committed to your success. I chose the 600 hr clinical skincare program for my business and Ms Erica is so knowledgeable and supportive in every way possible. I have the utmost confidence in myself because of the advanced curriculum and hands on experience to move forward in treating my clientele I recommend this school completely.
I came in for a basic facial but the service I received was much more than just that. Turquoise took her time making sure she understood my skin so she can give me the best possible treatment. The facial was wonderful & the massage was even better. Turquoise went above an beyond to make sure I was comfortable & provided the best service. As a first time customer I did not know what to expect but I definitely give Turquoise 5 stars & I will be returning!
When I very randomly decided I wanted to become an Esthetician, I looked at a few schools before deciding on Loraine’s. From the moment I walked into the school and toured it, I felt like it was the right place for me. I was especially drawn to the fact that they offered a “Clincal Skin Care” program, which other schools didn’t.The teachers, Michael and Erica, are extremely knowledgeable and have many years of real-world experience. I can’t think of a single time that I had a question that went unanswered. They spent time with each of us individually, and would change their teaching styles based on what they felt the group responded to, rather than just lecturing us all day.Upon graduating, I felt confident in my abilities to find a job. Dr. Tina sat with me (as did Erica) and helped to tighten up my resume, printed the job boards for me, and gave me more pointers past what we had already gone over in class. Erica has kept in touch and helped point me in the direction of a job posting she knew about.I’m extremely appreciative of how caring and helpful the instructors and administrators have been and have recently landed a job thanks to their help. For people who aren’t sure, all I can say is that you get out of the school what you put in. Take advantage of the resources available to you, and don’t just show up to get a piece of paper.Thank you, Loraine’s!
I am attending this school for the 600 hour clinical skin program, great program for knowledge, life experience, and hands on experience. Instructors are very helpful with making sure that you understand material and helping you land jobs once you have graduated. Since I have started, the school has made a lot of changes which I think disrupts the efficiency of the program but hopefully once all of the changes that are necessary are made, this will be an A school.
Ive been going to Loraines Academy and Spa since 2012, my color is always fantastic, Ill keep going to you guys for many years to come. This is now 2017 and I will continue to return to Loraines Academy and Spa.Very Happy and satisfied customerSandi W8/13/2018Verb hair mask is working great on my hair, I use it twice a week as the directions say Ive been using it for 3-4 weeks now and my hair its so soft, silky, and manageable.I just love it, Will be stopping by there for the Shampoo and Conditioner and Mask
Its a very professional atmosphere. I love how tucked in it is so its quiet and the music was sweet. Everyone is friendly. Its very clean. Ellie did amazing. She made it super comfortable for my first time in. I appreciated the genuine friendly vibe from her teachers. 10/10 will come back all the time.
I discovered Loraines Academy a few years ago and it is my go to place for hair, nails, pedis, and facials. What I like most is the camaraderie between the students and the ever watchful eyes of the instructors. I find that the attention to detail, though it may takes a few minutes longer, insures quality results. I was hesitant at first to allow a student to do my haircolor but the comments I receive from friends and family are very positive. As a matter of fact, my mother-in-law was so impressed with the results that she now goes to Loraines. Ive sent other friends and they have now become regulars. If you havent gone to Loraines you are missing a deal.
I am a third- generation Loraines Academy Graduate, as of 2010. My mother and grandmother both have their license for Advanced Skincare. I am PROUD to be a Loraines graduate. My mother has had an amazingly successful medical spa for 20 years in the offices of Dr. William Adams. I now work for my mother and have had the same amazing success in skincare. I love what I do, I make great money, and it can only go up from here! I have to give credit to Loraines and their fantastic staff for my education and success. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
I’m a proud graduate of Loraine’s Academy. While there I had one particular instructor that stood out, her name is Miss Erica. She is one of those life changing teachers you appreciate having in your corner. I’m grateful for the wisdom & instruction I received from her while there, it helped me feel confident in landing my first job as a Lead Licensed Esthetician/Facial Specialist. I continue to use my talents, and the fundamentals I learned in the Loraine’s Academy Spa today.
As a customer, I knew that it was a risk going to a training school for hair cuts and color. However, each time Ive gone, Ive had a great stylist who listened and gave me exactly what I asked for. Trainers Jean and Josh have always been there and made the whole experience very calming. I knew I was in good hands. Plus, of course I love the amazing prices. The only downside is the front desk (Gwen I think) who has absolutely no positive customer service. Ive called to schedule appointments to be told certain features or stylists dont take appointments but then when I show up at the time I stated, they say the stylist isnt there and I should have made an appointment. She has ignored me standing at the front desk on multiple occasions while she took personal calls and didnt even bother to address me.Overall, still worth it to get such a great savings and help students learn their techniques.
Loraine’s Provided me the best education and prepared me for life in the Esthetics Business. I graduated with so much knowledge thanks to the amazing teachers Erica and Michael. Even after you graduate your Loraine’s Family is always there for you. I can’t say enough about this amazing school!
This review is not to badmouth Loraines because I really believe at one point it was the best possibility for a cosmetology school. This is a completely honest review for future students who are considering all their options, which is how I was before I started here. I was super impressed with the school tour and excited to start and the first few weeks were great. Within the first month or 2, one of my main teachers just never showed up the next day and we never knew why she quit. My class was never told what happened even though there were a ton of rumors about extreme staff/admin drama but we never found out for sure. Of course I understand how unexpected that was but my class felt completely cheated after that. The overall teaching effort went down noticeably. Luckily an outside instructor came in one day a week and was the best thing to have happened in the middle of all that chaos. The 1 star review regarding the exams is right because theyre basically open book. I remember being so nervous especially about the final (the deciding factor for whether or not we got our license) but my teacher went over the test review the day before. This meant that the questions and answers were read to us or we guessed the answers and were told the correct ones either way. Of course since the test was identical to the review, it wasnt exactly challenging. The final was similar but had some different questions about the same topics. Also our class continuously asked for a biweekly progress report that we were promised that would have had our current points, grades, etc. and we received one in total which had no updated information. Aside from these, of course there were good things like having brand reps come in to talk to us and there was a field trip to a related business which was interesting. But quite honestly, after considering everything with an objective view, I believe the bad outweighed the good, at least for my time there. So like I said before, I would have believed Loraines to be the best probably a few years ago but after my experience, I would advise possible students to look at other options.
I had a facial and peel with the student, Kalena, today. I have had many facials professionally but I do visit Loraines on occasion as their services are such a bargain. Kalena did a great job and I have not had a better experience at a salon with a licensed professional. Great experience!
I think like most students I had my own idea of what my experience would be at Loraines Academy. Easy, just got to school, study and get done. I actually chose to go here for the clinical skin program as it was highly recommended.I give 5 stars because Miss Tina made sure I was sold on the faculty and program. Because every morning Miss Terry made my day with her spirit and kindness. Miss Joyce put up with my countless requests, lol. And because Miss Luba is wonderful. The whole staff is. Also because I met so many sweet ladies in my class who I always remember. My only challenge was navigating different personalities at times in school. I am writing this because potential students should know sometimes there will be disruptive students. But no one should ever discourage us from achieving our goals. This will happen no matter where you go to school. My biggest thank you goes to Erica. She is a teacher at heart. She cares and makes sure she understand student needs, how to prepare us for the industry, and how to be the best you can be. I learned the extra steps it takes to understand, consult and provide a plan for a client. She also took time to make sure I understood and learned the critical components of this program. I didnt fully appreciate this until after school when I joined a networking group and took part in a group interview. I was leaps and bounds ahead of the other ladies.I would recommend The Clinical Skin program under Erica to anyone.
I had an amazing experience with the administration, staff, teachers and students..This is the best cosmetology school the Tampa Bay Area has to offer, when considering other schools. Loraines is above the rest they offer day and night classes. They work on a level system, levels 1-6 after working on mannequins you get to experience practicing on live clients after each level (builds confidence and helps you grow as a stylist), you get to keep tips and clients if their willing to follow you in your career also you can work at your own pace if life gets in the way!!!;))) Blessed to say Im a 2015 graduate of Loraines and wouldnt change it for anything, I highly recommend Loraines to start or finish your career!!!!;)))
Over the past two years of working with Loraines Academy I have found them to be friendly, courteous, and exceptionally professional. The management truly cares and wants their students, clients, and employees alike to be enriched and have a good experience -- a difficult feat for any business in todays fast-paced society. Great experiences. Highly recommend.
I went here for school for the full specialist license and then came back later to continue my education. Nothing but positive things to say. The staff are absolutely amazing and they make you feel important and loved. You learn a lot while being here. There’s a lot of hands on practice which is really good to help you get skill and technique.
I love to get facials at LA. The front desk staff are very attentive. The salon teachers and students always give me careful attention. And I really like the facials.I even brought my son when he had acne problems.
Victoria is an excellent teacher, I heard her point out issues my massage therapist could do for me on areas that are very troublesome and tender...I highly recommend! Jazmine is an excellent student and I want to follow her!!
Amazing School!! After trying another school that was not the right fit, I found Loraines Academy.. Having been in the industry for the last 15 years as an LMT I was excited about learning and applying Esthetics into my practice. Mr Jeff, Ms Marie and Ms Diana I thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience, you are all wonderful teachers and mentors. Clinical days were professional and realistic to working in a busy spa. Theory days were very informative both with written material and hands on demonstration. The Financial and Administrative Staff were efficient and friendly. I HIGHLY recommend this School to anyone wanting to get into the industry! Ill be back for SC2 asap!
I love my experience here at Loraine’s. The staff is super helpful and nice and I am thoroughly enjoying the clinical skin program.
I attended Loraine’s Academy for the clinical skin care program. I had a lot of fun in the program, the instructors are knowledgeable and helpful. The entire staff is friendly, and help you get through whatever it is that you need.
This Career School was an amazing experience for me. Before I ever attended as a student (at 47) I would come here as a client for nail and spa services. I had the best facials from the students and the teachers were always there to help them.I had always been interested in doing hair and like most students that I talked to once I enrolled, we had all started learning to do our own hair at a young age. I hadnt been in a school classroom in a long time and thought that it was going to be too difficult for me. The teachers I met not only taught at the school but worked or own their own salons too and had been licensed for many years. The classroom experience was like none other. We learned from our Milady books many things we didnt know. If I ever had anything that I was confused about, and many of us had the same issue, It was explained to us in a way that we could understand it. We learned practical and precise blowdrying technique to make the hair smooth and shiny without using irons, we learned cutting and coloring and chemical processes, manicure and pedicure. We also learned about the many other like nail diseases and contagious disease, skin issues that we shouldnt work on with clients, disinfection of our implements and tools. I never knew about any of these things.I liked the fact that we learned each different section of the curriculum and then got to go on the salon floor and put into practice what we learned to do in the classroom before we went on to the next stage of learning. Many people that are not in this industry dont realize how strict the state is about the education we receive and the standards we have to adhere to to keep the public safe and how strict they are on the schools that teach us.The learning was very important and tests were difficult at times. I spent many nights staying up late to study and completing the workbooks that we were required to do. In the end, I had passed all my tests and loved learning cosmetology so much that I enrolled in their 600 hour Skincare program too. For me, that was a hard program and I learned so much more about the skin and its functions and what we were allowed to do and what services couldnt be performed on clients with different issues from the types of medications they were on, if they had had skin cancer or metal plates in the skin or severe acne or rosacea.Loraines Academy taught me so much and I now have the pleasure to work at a job I love and when you love you what you do, I dont consider it work but making people look and feel beautiful and I also educate my clients on products and services that are beneficial to the care of their haircuts, colors and skin care regime to keep them looking their best. I still do continued education every chance I get because there is always something new to learn. I appreciate every teacher and the administrative staff for making this possible and I have recommended many people to attend this school. Thank you for everything you have done for me and the many other students that have attend Loraines Academy and the many students you will continue to educate.
Loraines Academy St Pete Spa Facial the best 10 stars ***12/03/2020 went for fascial microdermabrasion with led.Was the 1st client ever for student VALERIA was very impressed with her professionalism, extremely knowledgeable in skin care. She did an excellent job and provided amazing treatment from start to finish.I few month back I went to a so called professional SPA and paid $175.00 for microdermabrasion with led and did not get no where near the same treatment I received from a student VALERIA whom I was her first client. To anyone looking for a school to really prepare you for the real world......As a graduate of the cosmetology program, I would like to say that I am so happy I chose Loraines as my school. Firstly it is just unheard of these days to complete your schooling in whatever area of study and then almost instantly you are out in the working world!Once I passed my boards I was working within 7 days! The staff is great, I felt like I fit in, and I moved through the program very quickly. As I went through the school program, it was very intense but super fun. I learned about the basic know how but I also learned very new and trendy techniques like putting in hair extentions ( and getting certified all while still a student!) and the infamous balyage!Might I mention that Im also using most of my tools that I got through the school every day on all my clients! The other stylists in my salon that went to Sunstate or AIB didnt have the same great quality tools that Loraines provided in our kit.As for being preped for those big state boards..... I had no problems passing those state tests and more importantly, I know how to do what needs to be done in the salon. I actually KNOW what Im doing! And with CONFIDENCE! Thank you Ms. Christy and Mr. Josh for providing me with all of the knowledge that I needed AND MORE!Thank you for giving me the tools to succeed,Katie Ellis
I came to LA desperate for anything to make my skin just a little better. I had tried every face wash out there. I had acne and acne scaring all over my face. I first started with an enzyme peel with Lisa and my skin instantly got better. I knew this was working. I talked to the instructor Erica and she recommended a couple more to prepare my skin for anything more abrasive. After a couple more enzyme peels, I did a microdermabrasion, and needless to say, my results are AMAZING. My acne is almost 100% gone and my scarring is starting to subside. With a few more treatments, I’m confident that my scaring will be gone. I honestly wish I had taken a before and after because these results are beyond amazing.I’d highly recommend giving this place a shot if you have severe skin problems like me or if you just want a facial.
Received a back facial from Turquoise. She was the absolute best . I felt so relaxed and great after wards . She was very kind and helpful. I highly recommend her. I even scheduled another service with her next week . Can’t wait to get a facial !
I have lived in the vicinity of Loraines Academy for many years. It was the place to go for up to date hairstyles, reasonably priced manicures, facials, and massages. So, it was natural when the time came that my daughter wanted to go there to get her cosmetology license. After she graduated, she moved to New York. That was 15 years ago. She now owns a very successful salon in Brooklyn The Karcher, and is a front runner with The Businesses in the revitalization of Greenpoint. Such a great start from a 5 star Academy! It is a great reflection of Loraines, teachers, staff and owners.
I attended the 600 hour clinical skin care program here at loraines and the best part was being instructed by miss Erica. She’s extremely knowledgeable in the profession and being able to study under her and be taught by her was great.
Last week I had the pleasure of a wonderful facial with Athena. Not only was she attentive and proactive but she identified my future needs in skin care. I imediately followed her suggestions when I left and purchased the items I needed. Because of her gentle and firm touches, I will commit myself by seeing her on a by monthly basis.
If I could give this institution 0 stars I would. Ive toured plenty of beauty schools and seen some things but this one is by far is the worst Ive seen. The photos are of a refrigerator in their student lounge with DEAD cockroaches in it, possibly some lives one are lurking in there somewhere within the students food. Their rags they use on clients and students have a MILDEW smell on them sometimes. To remedy that issue the teacher has advised the students to put some essential oil on the towel and charge them extra for aromatherapy...that is unacceptable even in the nastiest of places. Save yourself the money and the possibility of contracting a disease and go to another school, please. This place is a joke.
My experience; I signed up last October for January 7th, 2018 evening classes and never heard anything more until I called in December 2017 regarding my start date and what else I needed to do to get started. It was at that time LA mentioned that there wasnt any evening classes available at this time and they werent sure when there would be. So I waited until March. STILL....never heard from this school. At that time I pulled out and requested to have my $150 returned back. This school NEVER reimbursed me my $150!! They said they dont have record of me paying $150.Because of the lack of communication, follow-up with L.A. and not returning my deposit, I wouldnt trust this school with my money or recommend this school to anybody. Also, when I was registered, I was stillreceiving emails and text messages from L.A. about my interest in the school. Again, lack of communication. I was already registered at that time.
Watermelon Facial 🍉Loraine’s academy is welcoming there newest facial ~ The Watermelon Facial. This gentle exfoliant grits up any dead skin & literally has it roll off your face. Every single layer of ingredient she put on my face, the smells made me wanna eat them. But don’t do that, lol! With natural potent antioxidants & vitamin & minerals this facial will leave your skin hydrated & smoother than a baby’s butt. Those of you that’s major concern is just aging & you just need a gentle / relaxing facial, this facial is perfect & just for $25 who could beat that! I received one yesterday & it was the best facial I’ve had in a WHILE.
I had a microdermabrasion plus facial today and it was wonderful. Angela did a fantastic job. The microdermabrasion and the enzyme peel left my face looking and feeling great. Definitely recommend a visit to Loraine’s for a facial. The best part is the cost is a fraction of what you would pay elsewhere.
Today is my last day at school. I will definitely miss this place a lot, I have learned a lot the past 6 months. Ms Erica was very patience and very good listening instructor, can’t wait to work on my new career as clinical skin aesthetician .
Im so mad right now I probably shouldnt be writing this review! Long story short>> Lorraines Academy FRIED my beautiful blonde hair. I HAD thick, beautiful, long highlighted hair. After a day at their salon I left with half my hair burnt off and brassy ugly tones. My hair was literally all over the floor and chair I was sitting on.Under the direction of the teacher, bleach was applied from root to tips in order to achieve a solid all over blonde look. I sat in that chair from 1pm-6ish! My back was killing me. My poor 78 yr old mother was forced to stay and wait for me although she was done hours ago. We were exhausted! When I stood up my hair was breaking off left and right, covering the chair and floor! My hair was a complete wreck but all I wanted to do was leave with a wet head! Once home I was horrified. My hair was not the same! I wore a hat for a month and couldnt run a brush through it without gobs of hair falling out. I had to purchase 200.+ of olaplex and other professional treatments online. Coconut oil was my friend for 3 months and I was not able to blow dry or wear my hair down.Being the positive person I am, I said to myself Its just hair I went back to speak to Ms Christie (the woman in charge) who offered me 2 free protein treatments. I didnt think it was too generous considering my long hair was ruined and it would take at least 2 yrs to grow in.But, I figured I would go back to the school and try to undo what was done. BIG MISTAKE! After 2 treatments/attempted repair work, I wanted to keep up my hair and try to get it healthy again. Unfortunately, the student cancelled with me 3 consecutive times in one month.Ok thats fine, stay positive! So, today I show up with goodies for my student hairdresser and sheer excitement that I was finally able to get in! I was 20 mins late but had alerted her I was coming. Once I arrived my appointment was given away to a random walk in! I was very very disappointed. Umm did they not remember me?!Ms Christie came out to inform me I was too late for the appointment. So hold on Ms Christie! You guys RUIN my hair. Half my hair was burnt off months ago, your student cancelled with me 3 times in one month, I take off a whole afternoon to be there and you say too bad bec I was 20 min late! ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME?!! After everything Ive been through with this salon/school?!!I have never been treated with such disrespect and disregard. This school has zero loyalty towards their clients and they could care less if they wreck your hair! Dont be a nice guy like me because you will be further disrespected. I should have sued them damaging my hair! Ms. Christie is a nasty, mean, condescending women who could care less about the clients or anyones head of hair. Her attitude towards me was absolutely uncaring as she smirked and made up horrible excuses to cover her BAD decision. I do not recommend anyone to go to this salon! Ms Christie, Learn how to treat people with kindness and consideration!
I went to Lorraines on 1/15/20. I was told Kaila Spiveywas top student. She put a relaxer in virgin hair. Did not put enough Vasaline around ears and neck. I received severe burns. Was told by her instructor just put Olive Oil. He did not come and check her work
I consider Lorraines family. They are always pleasant, professional and really do a great job with the services they perform,. If you can get Kim for a facial, it is like a slice of heaven. Lorraines is my happy place!
Unprofessional untrained staff. They hire the students once they get licensed so for some their first job in the field is teaching... How you gonna teach without any real world experience? 🤦🏼
Moran and Erika are great. They both take time to discuss your skin care concerns. Morgan has a lovely touch and will be wonderful in her career choice.
I went in to get a trim. The girl who I was assigned to had no clue how to cut hair. She would randomly pick up pieces of my hair and cut. The instructor (who was supposed to be supervising) was all over the place. He complained that he had been working 30 days straight without time off. He definitely looked like it! He did not seem to be listening to the girl cutting my hair or to what I was trying to tell him that I wanted done. He would just stare into the mirror at my hair and move it around with his hands. The girl sprayed tons of hairspray on my hair, so I didnt get to see what she had really done to it. After washing it, though, I cried! My hair along the sides and back had been hacked up. I went somewhere else to try to have it repaired, but it was next to impossible. I have learned my lesson & will NEVER go to a beauty school for a haircut. I have been going to AIB for years for facials, and I have never been disappointed. I plan on sticking with them.
It was my first time visiting Lorraines academy and I had my nails done by Maya and she was very friendly and did an excellent job. The prices are great!
Some of the sweetest and funniest people i’ve ever met and the instructors actually care about your future 58th St N Saint Petersburg, FL
Its the very best Beauty school in the area. The teachers and the students are very cordial and give you great treatment in what ever service you choose. is also very helpful
Terrible school. Won’t learn anything. Teachers don’t care. Even head staff don’t care. They just want your money!!!
Don’t recommend don’t recommend don’t recommend they lie on these reviews and have people who aren’t even enrolled make five star reviews
Loraines is a great school, the teachers and staff are great! They really care about the students and they are always helpful and kind.
Everyone at the school are so friendly and go the extra mile to please the customer. I received a customized manicure to match a Halloween outfit! Great job😊
STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL!! It’s Completely Unprofessional/Unorganized And Their Curriculum SUCKS! The Entire Staff Is Rude Except For Ms Tina Mr Josh Ms Elaine And Ms Terri Instructors Rarely Take Time To Teach And They Show Favoritism Towards Certain Students!!
Its time to boycott this school for its unprofessional staff that tell lies on you because you stand up for yourself. Then they kick you out even though you paid cash or financial aid without discussing any problems with you. Im calling for a boycott!!!!!
Lorraine academy has the best teachers. I really recommend this school. Definitely will be coming back to get a service.
If I Could Give This School ZERO Stars I Would!! They Are Completely Unorganized , Show Favoritism && Cares About Nobody But Themselves I’ve Had Multiple Issues With This School During My Enrollment .. I DO NOT REFER THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE !!!!!!! You’re Better Off Going To AIB Or Sunstate Academy!
Amazing experience, I felt ready and gained enough knowledge for graduation for the 600 hour skin program, you Loraines and instructors!
I go no where else when im in flordia. hair cuts, wax eyebrows, highlites, and nails they do a good job everytime! i only wish they could line up nails and hair same day. it can be done. i love this place!!

Great school, the students are very well educated in the world of skin care!!
This is a wonderful place to go for skincare services and makeup applications. The students and teachers are wonderful.
This place is awesome the staff is great they make you feel great and shoutout to my girl Asia she did a terrific job with my facial ♥️
Love this place. The service is excellent. Price is reasonable. The only thing the services takes long. Make sure you have time.
I havent been to this school or even a tour, but all schools have mishaps. Even expensive brand name schools. Sometimes things just happen.
Would leave 0 stars if I could. Visit the academy and try to sit in on a class and you’ll understand the 1 star.
If you are a potential student considering going here, please PLEASE just visit other schools. Save yourself a headaches from the witches aka owners.
Ruth was amazing everyone is so nice and welcoming ! Definitely recommend !
