I had a great experience at Temple recently with a bunch of friends on 5/25, which was allegedly their last day open according to SF news sources. I found out on that night from staff, however, that it wasn’t their last night and they’re still open. Having recently moved to SF from the LA metropolitan area, I was super impressed by the venue. It is way nicer and larger than any of the LA clubs I’ve been to in Ktown and Hollywood. I certainly hope it stays open because places like this make me want to go out every weekend.
If youre a fan of electronic music, this nightclub is a must-visit. Featuring famous DJs, the lights and sounds here are top-notch, creating an immersive experience that keeps the energy high all night long. The club also offers a unique variety of music with a basement area dedicated to different genres, ensuring theres something for everyone. On special occasions, they open their rooftop, where you can enjoy an awesome view of the city. The combination of great music, vibrant atmosphere, and stunning cityscape makes this spot truly exceptional.
Temples current staff is fantastic! Big thank you to George & Carlos for taking care of the mamas at the GoldFish concert. So impressed & definitely recommend bottle service for a crew. Main floor has cool LED screens everywhere - was awesome to look up at the ceiling & see a stream of the DJs on their decks for part of the show. Cool lights, confetti, & smoke for the ultimate dance party. Been going here for 10+ yrs & seen the various remodels. Glad to see this venue is invested in a great staff, good sound system, & killer lineup. Keep it up! Oh & the cherry on top, their bathrooms & the dance floor were well kept and cleaned all night.
It is the absolute best nightclub in all of San Francisco. Temples main stage dance floor has an entire roof of LED tiles from floor to ceiling. There are also fog cannons and kicking sound systems. The club has multiple bars with great drinks. Temple offers the best private sections in San Francisco: good music, a great atmosphere, and many people. I highly recommend Temple.
I bought my tickets to this club already, am from Colorado, and I had Digital ID, NOT Picture. And even SF airport and all the US airports accepts it as a valid ID because it is on app-real time and issued by government, but they were telling me that they do not accept Picture which it is not. I tried to explain that it is not Picture but they just ignored me and my friends who had physical IDs and just stopped talking to us because only I, from the group, didnt have physical ID. They need to work on their customer service, quit treating their customers like trash and keep up with the new technologies that are accepted by government!!! Oh the securities are hell a rude, they were treating their customers like bunch of alcoholics!!!!!!! Very rude!!!
Went on 4th of July during the Downtown First Thursdays afterparty event. Despite my greatly receding hairline and grey facial hair, they still asked for ID. They only accept US identification cards, which I don’t have being just a tourist (not even my passport and US visa were honored!) It looked empty that night anyway and I am glad I wasn’t let in because the bars I went to at Castro District were so much more fun.
I got a stamp, security lets me out. Trying to get back in the treat me as I am sneaking in. This is so annoying. They suggest I pay again!!I have 6 friends inside the club, they asked me to call them all out and leave. This is absurd.Pay 20 $ again for re entry. They suggested I should ask them while leaving if there is reentry. I am very confused why they stamp at entry!!!!!
My review is based on my experience in VIP so please take this review with this in mind.It was my first time at Temple SF with a group of my friends celebrating a birthday and the team at temple were excellent. The host, Danny, made setting up a table incredibly easy and he was able to be flexible working with me due to some unexpected changes. Our bottle service host was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. Security checks Vax cards which is reassuring and made getting in a smooth process. Now to the venue. Wow. Ive been to a lot of clubs around the world but for a medium sized club Temple definitely ranks somewhere in the top. The vertical light panel and overall production gives Temple its unique flare. The VIP area is also thoughtfully spaced out where its close enough to GA to feel the energy but still plenty of private space for a large group.Great job Temple team, you made my groups San Francisco weekend a blast! We will be back when were in the area.
This pathetic excuse for a nightclub is finally shutting down. Seems like the racism, xenophobia, and aggressive behavior toward customers were the final nails in the coffin. Actually, that might have been due to the litany of complaints they received in 2023 about a mice infestation and failing roof, or maybe its the lawsuit against the bouncers who assaulted a customer.Ive been telling people to avoid this place ever since my group had a horrendous experience in 2018. Its a pretty common sentiment among SF residents that temple is trash.
This happened a while ago - I want to say either 2021 or 2022. A woman straight up lied to a security guard and told him I offered to buy her a drink when I didnt. She went up to the bar and ordered a drink and then came up to me and asked me to pay for it even though I never accepted her offer. I refused to pay. The guard then took me and my friend (who had nothing to do with this ) and said Let me talk to you two over here and then took us outside through a back door and then just left us there and just kicked us out. He told us he just believed the girl over us even though we were telling the truth. Waste of $100
If you’re looking for a world-class audio/visual experience with some of the world’s best DJs spanning different genres of edm, as well as hip hop, then look no further than Temple in San Francisco. 🔊✨👌🏼The visuals in Temple are truly a sight to behold and the Void sound system is top of the line. I’ve been regularly attending Temple for 10+ years now and the upgrades they’ve made to the nightclub over the last five years have been nothing short of amazing. You truly have to experience in person to believe it.The staff is also friendly and helpful and does their best to cater to your needs. Danny, the current VIP host, always ensures you will have a great experience, should you choose to go the VIP route get a table/bottle service. The bottle service girls are also very friendly and helpful. Reign, in particular, who helped me recently is awesome! The VIP experience at Temple gives you great views from different parts of the nightclub depending on your preference. The balcony view in particular is awesome.Currently, Temple throws events from Thurs - Sat. Thurs is hip hop nite in the main room with edm in the room downstairs. Fri and Sat has some of the biggest DJs in edm playing the main room and they also have a hip hop room downstairs as well. Temple is one of my favorite nightclubs and I can’t recommend it enough. 😎👍🏼
Went to the galactic ocean flow yoga class on Sunday and it was really cool. It was a very unique space and welcoming environment. The teacher and class were great, would highly recommend .
This is a decent night club in San Francisco. The sound system and the lighting is very good. There can be an entrance cost depending on the event. The drink price is around 20$ average per cocktail which is not more than most other places. A great place to enjoy with friends if you like electronic music especially when a famous techno DJ visits💯I hope more night clubs open in the Bay Area🤞
Theres a meme going around about how some kids telling their parents theyre going to Temple to pray but were actually going to this club. The few times Ive been here with and without a table, Ive had a good time. The importance of layout is huge when it comes to clubs and Temple is one of my faves. You can listen to the DJ upstairs or hippety hop downstairs in the basement. And a nice smoking break area out back.Overall staff has been cool and the people Ive met here have been as well. So 5/5.
Those guys are so freaking rude, I have friends visiting from San Diego. My friend, she got some drinks, she wasn’t drunk having a good time not causing any problems or anything. As soon as she was out of the restroom, they said she looks so drunk to be here, and they literally kicked us out.We were too nice to everyone, and were having a good time, and tipping all the bartenders, but those people looks like they have many people in the club that they couldn’t handle, and they were looking for anyone to kick out because they didn’t expect this amount of people to go to their club.
I ve been many clubs before but definitely this one is worst i will never go there again neither the people i know if anyone reading this all I recommend is don’t go . An army of ugly and disrespectful employees who have no respect for themselves or their customers .especially security guards they think they are fbi or something lol .if any responsibile person of club is reading this you guys gotta teach to your employees to how to show respect to poeple who is coming to your club and spend money, security guards is definitely worst ever especially the head of security who is big and black guy he was heartless and brainless 😅one of the unrespectful and egotistical person i have ever seen ,anyway guys i wish you luck with that kind of employees , you will keep losing customers with that kind of unrespectful people.
Dress decently and buy tickets in advance. We bought our tickets (early bird is a few days ahead and we got $30 tix for $20). We got there at 11pm and the line was crazy long. We were about to leave and someone came up and said if we had tickets we could move up to the front. We stayed. The club was good and I appreciated the bouncers. There are some drunk idiots stepping on people or dancing like their in a mosh pit. They are probably the ones giving bad reviews of the bouncers. My biggest issue was the music upstairs. The DJ was weak. He mixed beats that didnt match up and changed the baseline after 30 seconds (thats why I am giving 4* I stead if 5). It was a show night and Bingo was better than the warm up DJ Downstairs was great. We danced in the other room (not the hip hop room) where the DJ knew his stuff. Coat check was $3 a coat. Overall, good experience.
Overcrowded and overpriced. The hip-hop room had the largest crowd but the smallest room so there was no room to dance. Everybody was moving around instead of dancing so when you did get to dance you got thrown off. They had us waiting in line so long we missed the chance to get in for free and then we had to pay $40 each to get inside. Its really not worth it unless you like the feeling of claustrophobia. Do not go!
Was in town for a funeral and got a ticket to see Cheat Codes on 3/6 Sat to helpprocess it with some dancing. Presale line took about ~45min, moved faster than I thought it would. I’d be surprised if they didn’t break SFFD occupancy limits because you couldn’t walk once inside let alone dance, but the music was so bad you wouldn’t want to. Probably one of the worst EDM sets I’ve ever heard. Not the club’s fault, but the overcrowding was. My guess is that the DJ’s were too high to know how bad it sounded. It was so atrocious I left after 30-45min. A number of people I talked to didn’t think it was them given how horrible it sounded, but they seemed to match the photos. Lighting was impressive but hard to appreciate because only space to stand was in the back or side by the bars unless you enjoy being squeezed like a sardine. Folks working the door were respectful, folks working the bar and coat check were friendly.
Came to Temple for New Year’s Eve to see my favorite band. We bought VIP / open bar tickets that were $50 more than general admission. Upon asking, we were sent upstairs to the “open bar” that was the only one we could use. Half an hour waiting for drinks each time, plain water was extra, Redbull was extra. When we sat on one of the couches - which weren’t marked as reserved or anything - and a girl from bottle service walked by and told us not to touch anything on the table (we weren’t - we had our own drinks). A security guy came thereafter to kick us out in a very rude manner. So much for VIP. When the place became crowded it got insanely stuffy and hot with zero AC. Security check was likely weak as one guy managed to sneak in a lighter and was smoking inside without anyone caring - exactly how fires in clubs are started. We were very disappointed with what we got for the VIP price - mistreatment by the staff for no reason whatsoever, safety hazards, no ventilation and choice of beverages (or lack thereof). One of my worst club experiences unfortunately.
This club provides seating for Bottle service customer only in the dance area! I think this is why many people avoid this club.
If youre thinking of going to the Bollywood night DONT! They charged 50, dance floor was so packed it was probably a fire hazard, no room to dance. So packed that the bouncers started shoving people around just to get through. Poor ventilation means youre sweating immediately and literally 1 bartender for what must have been hundreds of people. Took at least 30 minutes to get a drink. I think its actually criminal to sell that many tickets and let that many people into such a small space.
Highly unprofessional security staff. They are hosting overbooked events and then man-handling the guests, often resorting to violence just because they are frustrated with the overbooked crowd. Ventilation and music setup is also sub par. You can’t hear the music but only beats if you are towards the back of the floor. The security personnel are extremely racist and acting based on assumptions, punching guests in the face who are trying to just enjoy themselves in an overbooked party. One tall bald light skinned guy working security was pulling some female guests from our group by their hand and throwing them around. There are several reviews complaining about similar issues and the management has responded that they will look into it or take some training for security personnel but based on my experience every thing is unchanged. Those responses from management are just a joke. Extremely worst experience. There are much better night clubs in San Francisco than this one. The reviews are legit. Highly recommend to avoid this club.
Warning to all Corporates! Temple took a $11k deposit from me for an event that it turned out they double booked. I am still fighting them back for the deposit that they have essentially stolen from me. Complete thieves.
Worst experience of my life. The security is extremely rude & terrible. They push people inside if you come in their way while you are dancing. The staff is very rude and it’s all very overpriced. Even when you are on the guest list and you wait for more than an hour to get inside, they’ll not allow you in. Poor management for events bcz they always double overbook. There is barely any space inside to stand and everyone is just pushing. But the staff and security is horrible there. Don’t go there to ruin your evening, it is totally not worth the dollars.Update (Nov 28,2023) : what are you talking about? I have not even mentioned food in my review and this is not a cyber attack you fool! These are actual people who are angry and a reason why your ratings are going down. Temple used to be one of the best clubs in SF. Now it has become the worst place to go in SF.
Went here for a friends birthday. Signed up for the guest list which guarantees free entry if you enter by 11:30. My friends and I waited in line at 11, not expecting it to take an hour to get inside. Half our group was inside and half of us were told to pay $50 for entry. We decided to regroup and decide what to do as we didn’t want to pay that much. Security guard decides to get extremely aggressive, in which the situation escalates and the guard starts assaulting one of our friends. We tried to pull the fight apart but other guards came to hold us back. Crazy that the guards here normalize assault. This was completely a one sided fight. Our friend was not fighting back, almost unconscious as the one guard kept assaulting him. We had to call the ambulance and our friend was left with a concussion. Never come to this damned place.
Pretty glad to hear this place is closing. One time I came to see my friend who was dj-ing and I was turned away for not wearing a suit and tie. Hahaha
Worst night club experience ever. People come here to find ways to pick a fight with you. Crowd is savage.. they are stepping all over you while dancing its more like a stomping ground. Be prepared to get hit physically by anyone here. Guards do nothing, except just watching. Bar tenders are rude and have to ask 10 times before they make a drink. Horrible experience. I’d give negative stars if there was such an option. Will never recommend.
The security staff at this venue is very rude, racist and unprofessional. They overcrowd the event and very taking out frustration and even instances of violence towards guests. The ventilation and music setup was also poor, because of overcrowding it was suffocating inside. Its deeply concerning to hear that the security personnel have displayed racist behavior, making assumptions and physically harming innocent guests. One security staff member, in particular, a tall bald individual with light skin, was observed forcefully handling female guests from our group. Numerous reviews have expressed similar concerns, and while the management claims to have addressed these issues, it seems that little has changed. Their responses to complaints appear insincere. Overall, this has been an extremely negative experience, and I strongly recommend avoiding this club. There are plenty of other nightclubs in San Francisco that offer a far superior experience. These reviews should not be overlooked.
I had high expectations for this club but felt let down. Arriving at 11, we were charged a $40 cover which I believe was incredibly over priced for the experience. Inside the music and vibe were very mid, the typical music you could hear anywhere with no speciality amenities in terms of service or atmosphere. They charge you $6 for a water which felt very poor taste considering how hot it was inside. In general, I would say this club was not memorable and not worth the money.
Robbers!! Robbed my car keys and never gave it back. My husband had to stand shivering in the cold until I get the second key from home. Did not allow us to go inside and look for the keys too.. they were soo rude after requesting also.Never coming back here.I called them so many times next days and sent multiple emails to the lost & found email, but everything went to deaf ears or blind eyes.I will take back this review only after I am given my car keys back
Temple Nightclub is the real deal! Shoutout to Drew Klayman for rolling out the red carpet and making us feel VIP. The staff was next-level friendly, and we made some awesome new friends on the dancefloor.Sickicks performance was straight fire, and the lights were mind-blowing, taking the whole vibe to another level. If you want a night thats not just a party but a whole experience, Temple Nightclub is where its at. Cant wait to come back and do it all over again. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I’m planning to celebrate my 29 birthday I have reservations this will be my first time coming to temple nightclub but after viewing these comments I’m not sure if I want to celebrate here I see mostly cons than pros on the reviews can I get a most recent review to confirm
Don’t ever come to temple. Security guards are extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. We couldn’t get in due to tickets being oversold and one security guard who was about 5’9 and had a beard started disrespecting my friend. This security guard started throwing punches at my friend and ended up giving him a concussion. We were trying to stop this fight but the other security guards pushed us off and let this security guard continue to beat my friend up for a minute straight. Security guards here think they have all the power in the world and resort to violence. Please do not come to temple this is the worst night club in the world.
Security guy that was working at 11pm on Saturday (10/28) should be charged with battery. Went here with my friends and security guy clearly had severe ego and masculinity issues. Decided my friend was the pick of the night to abuse, and proceeded to jump him in a completely one sided fight. Cant believe how accurate all of the other one stars reviews are. I will never come back here, and will continue to warn everyone of this place
Theyre so uptight about everything, a guard followed a girl into the bathroom to kick her out for god knows what, this place aint even fun go somewehere else 🙄
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM! Many wayyy better clubbing options in SF if you want to have a good time! If I could give less stars than 1 I would. We arrived at 10:20 pm since our guest list required us to go in before 11 pm. The outside area is soo dirty and unsafe while waiting too! We noticed the line wasn’t moving and then overheard the security guard say “hold the line” multiple times even though they just opened and were not full… quickly we realized they held the line up until 11 pm and started checking people in even though they open at 10pm. When we reached the middle aged lady with the iPad checking names for guestlist she sent us to one of the 40 something year old lady in the booth and then she sent us to someone else only to tell us that we were too late and need to pay $40 each to get in. We explained that we were in line way before 11 pm but she sarcastically said “awww but i don’t know that! aww well that’s too bad” while using a condescending high pitched tone that really showed how classless this place was. I put all the pieces together and noticed we were just being scammed and toyed with as a laugh by making us jump between so many people. We decided to just leave based on the treatment from the outside staff as this was not the type of vibe we would pay $40 per person for. Temple Nightclub, consider hiring younger staff that don’t hate their jobs and treat people like actual human beings and maybe you wouldn’t have so many negative reviews and people leaving for other establishments for a good time.
I had a great time! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the dance floor was spacious, loud, and vibrant, and the drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. The music selection was an eclectic mix of genres that kept the party going all night and there were plenty of areas to mingle, dance and hang out. The atmosphere of the place was laid-back but still lots of fun. I highly recommend this nightclub to anyone looking for an amazing night out in San Francisco!
Racist. Security took $300 cash to enter even after getting a ticket for Bollywood night or was gonna deny my entry.
Lots of people complain about unfriendly staff, poor experience or below average music here. While I cant disagree, temple also has a great distinctive feature! Finally a place in the bay area where they refuse entrance to foreign people so that we can party with only true Americans inside!!! So amazing!Be sure to wear proper clothing to be allowed in though (seems to depend on the security guys mood but you can just slip him a hundred and youll be good 😉)
Great experience at temple, Drew is such an awesome host and showed us a good time, great music and atmosphere, friendly staff, decent prices on bottles. Will be going the next time
By the end of the night around 1:30AM I decided I needed to use the bathroom. There was a man in front of me that needed to also use the bathroom. The bouncers decided that they didn’t want anyone else using the bathroom as they closed up. The man in front of me clearly made the bouncers mad. Therefore, the bouncers decided to take their answer out on me.3 men grabbed me by the throat and pushed me out of the bar out of nowhere. My friends saw me get dragged out randomly and were very confused.Temple clearly has terrible management, poor leadership, and a lack luster night life. It is unfortunate I would never go back and I would never allow my company to sponsor an event at this venue ever again. Good bye and farewell
Good place, music and service was great. It was less crowded.
Lucy on the Security team is amazing!!! She provides stellar service and really looks after the clientele. She helped us find a lost phone and went above and beyond. Promote her!
Worst experience of my life! Me and my friend couldn’t enter the club after we spent 30 dollars for each ticket, just because we had our IDs and not our passports. The security was extremely rude to us: they told us that people who are not from the US have to show their passports. I’ve been in San Francisco for 6 months now, and I’ve never heard of that. We’ve been to many clubs, and they have always accepted our international ID. Also, on their website, they didnt specify anything! We will never come back.
Unbelievable, the security in the line was the rudest I’ve ever seen in my life. We all were wearing appropriate clothing, however they told us we looked like homeless people. A group of 20 of us were going in and one of the security guards didn’t let two of us in. We were trying to talk to him respectfully and he told us to “pay for a table because we could get in wearing shorts”. This was one of the most disrespectful experiences I have ever had in the city. I do not recommend this bar to anyone that likes to be treated as a human being.
Very rude bouncers, bearded bouncer took my id and had to call police to get it backUpdate 2/18 : whoever is responding to reviews is blatantly lying months later on all bad reviews to try and save face for the club claiming I had a fake when the police confirmed my ID was real when returning it to me. Very shady marketing practice
Worst experience ever. My friends card holder and phone got stolen in the club. Even after so many reviews about thief’s and pickpockets nobody took care of it. We got to know that there was a gang who did all of it.Nobody should ever go hereworst club ever
Worst experience of my life. Out of nowhere this dude threw these punches at a guy and knocked him out…then just ran away. Staff acted like nothing was happening as the dude who got punched laid there unconscious and bleeding everywhere. Makes me think that’s a regular occurrence here. You can tell from other reviews, this club attracts a sketchy crowd and security is a joke here. They acted shell shocked the entire time and it took about 20 minutes for someone to actually help the situation. Even without this happening, the venue is overcrowded and you wait forever for overpriced drinks so just a disappointment all around. I love live music but I’ll never go back here.
If I could put 0 , I would do so. People do not go to that place especially when you pay 600$ for the table and $750 extra for a bottle of alcohol . They will treat you as kings first second when you come to the table . And that’s all. Unprofessional servers who contradicts themselves . If you have money better spend it elsewhere. Managers will not support you. Not agains music or customers. This review is based on service level and waitresses who thinks they are “First Ladies” there 🤣🤣🤣
Worst experience, Racist comments and rude staff.Though entry fee was expensive we went there thinking the experience would be great, we were in line for almost an hr to get into the pub, it was over crowded inside with not even a square inch space to stand, drinks are expensive where he charged me $13 for a drink at 10 pm and for the same drink they charged me $18 at 1pm. At around 2 pm 2 bouncers came near us and started pushing and asked us to leave for no reason, we were not disturbing the crowd or misbehaving with others, for no reason they started to push us, i said i will leave with my wife along with my 4 friends but they didn’t care to listen to and kept pushing us as we were prisoners i asked them not to push us as we were leaving the pub suddenly 2 more bouncers came and started to over take me and threw us out of the door leaving my wife inside i started to ask them as my wife got struck inside but their bouncers started to yell at us to shut up and leave with some racist comments, one of the bouncer started to call my friend “fucking Indians” and yelled at us to shut up and leave.I had my wallet with my id’s and car keys inside the coat room and after requesting them for some time they took my coupon inside and brought a different jacket which is not mine they they asked me to come back at 4 which is their closing time to get my jacket, my friend called 911 in front of the staff then they went back and got my jacket. Our experience at this pub was worst ever, they don’t treat people like humans and they make racist comments if we question them.
Honestly a great staff, great lights but I’ve never had fun here. I’ve been more than a few times and the music tends to be really unenjoyable dubstep that’s borderline just noise. The vibe is always off - it feels like no one’s really having fun but they’re trying to fake it to not look weird. People seem to be catching on - it’s a lot less crowded lately.I really wish temple was better because the space had potential. But there’s no soul here.
They cheated us cuz they told us when can go for $30 each person and the cult will be open till 3 am. In consideration of that, we paid for 4 persons ($120). The worst thing was that the club closed at 2 am, so we paid for wrong informations.
This place is RACIST and it was the first time feeling DISCRIMEATED AGAINST in a club in San Francisco. It was the worst experience ever. I would NOT come here again. We got pushed hard on the floor and my friend fell on her knees, she got bruised. We felt very unsafe because of the bad management and security here. We were being blamed for fell down on the floor and they kicked us out because we are chinese girls. The poor choices they made makes me question about this place.
Very rude employees and securitys especially big tall black guy rudest person ever, they don’t know how to show respect to customers, I don’t recommend this place at all , if you thinking to go there definitely don’t . As you can see on comments you would understand how they disrespectful people .
Giving 2 stars for the vibe inside. The security is the rudest I’ve ever met in my life in any kind of club. If you guys don’t switch the security team or educate them how to be respectful I won’t go there anymore :) you think you’re somebody when you get a little bit power in hand and give attitude to anyone as you wish? Just be kind dude. Be kind and be a man. Asking money to keep our stuff? Hell no. Get out of the way dude. Just be a man!
🌃🎉 Step into the electrifying world of Temple Nightclub! 🎉🌃✨ This vibrant hotspot in San Francisco is a sensory overload of music, lights, and pure excitement. With its modern design and top-notch sound system, Temple creates an immersive atmosphere that will keep you dancing all night long. The lineup of DJs is phenomenal, and the staff is friendly and attentive. Located in the lively SoMa district, Temple is the ultimate destination for a night of unforgettable fun! 🎶💃🌟
Temple is not what it was. Like everyone else said, security was so rude and wishy washy about their own dress code. I (female) was let in with sneakers and ripped jeans but my friend (male) was stopped by the short security dude for his chinos. We tried to talk to him and the black woman but she tried to get us to pay them $80? To let him “slide” on the dress code. Total sham, we already paid for tickets so it just seems like a ruse for more money. Guess min wage isn’t cutting it for them. Friend just waited for a bit until the two left, then he walked right in with the same pants he was denied for.We frequently used to buy tables here but it really isn’t what it used to be, it was Saturday night and not even crowded. Sad.
It is a cool club located at not the most convenient location. The music, bar tenders and the interior were all amazing. The crowd just reminded me why I never grew interest in nightclubs.Weirdos were all over the place. I wish clubs had some way of weeding out the creeps at the entrance.
We went to See Indian bollywood party Nov 25,2023 there security guard so rude we ask them for party they start laughing on us they said it’s hollywood party not bollywood …. There security guards guess people from clothes … don’t waste your hard earned money in temple … i’m pleased owner to tell there don’t laugh on there costmer 👀
Most unpleasant night out experience in sf for me. The venue was not properly air conditioned and it felt like 110 degrees on the dance floor. They charged $50 per person to see Nelly who was 2-hour late, the DJ played an extended set to stall the crowd and ended up repeating the same tracks over and over again. Super rude staff who made fun of my friend for complaining about Nelly’s lateness, saying that “don’t you know rappers always show up late.” Will never come back here for this level of gross customer service and disregard for people’s time.
Yeah so I got there at 11:50ish and they charged me 30 dollars for cover. Usually Id be fine with this but there were MAYBE 40 people in the club including the security. It was also very bright in the room which was weird. I should have just went to a bar. Drinks were not atrociously priced which is the one pro amongst these cons.
The club and the DJs were both top notch IMO when we went there. The club has a pretty cool screen that rolls around the ceiling. That said, it is not a high res screen but still the visual aspect is great. There are periodic confetti thrown in the air which adds to the senses. Now the cons: the crowd is very mixed. Some absolute douchebags show up. The whole cringe ritual of flashing bottles when the VIP tables order drinks is ridiculous. basically youre enjoying the music and light work where suddenly theres this led flashing lights capturing everyones attention towards this awkward family who dont dance and are on their phones the whole time. they have booked a vip table and are now taking video of the bottle they ordered. its such a commercial act and its not great
Will not come again for the second time. This nightclub is very unfriendly. The staff is a bit racially discriminatory. My friends and I were wearing T-shirts but we were not allowed in. We watched other people in T-shirts enter. This makes us very puzzled. When we asked the staff at the back door, he told us that our dress code complied with the dress code, but the check-in staff said it did not. A terrible experience.
Beware of thieving pickpockets at that club! My daughter has been there twice, and both times, she had her cell phone stolen right out of her purse. She does not plan on going there again. Her friend, on a different occasion, had hers stolen as well. The first time the bouncers and staff didnt do anything instead they kicked her out because she was confronting the group of guys her and her girlfriends were sitting with and she had her purse set on the table and the minute she turned to order a drink from the waitress she saw her purse had moved. The waitress was looking at the group of guys, and I am sure she saw, but I bet they are all in on it. Shady place.
Would not recommend. One of the worst nightclub experiences Ive ever had. Bouncers had no idea how to distinguish real IDs versus fake, they ended up breaking multiple real IDs. The staff were completely on power trips and refused to listen to customers... Sad! The bouncer wearing the beanie hates fun.
This club has thieves roaming inside. This is second time our group of friends went to this club and someone just pick pocket our iPhone.Upon asking the security, lost and found department, they replied rudely saying ‘This happens everyday here and you won’t get your phone back’. Never go here.
This business was unclear about the dress code and extremely rude at the door to our group. Unkind and dismissive when we approached with our paid tickets in hand. We were turned away due to some members of our group not having a belt loop on their pants. Do not waste your money here.
Temple was a great time and the music is always great. The sound system is the best I have heard in the city. The staff is always great and welcoming. I got a table through Drew, who treated me as a top VIP. It was a great overall experience. I highly recommend Temple.
The bouncers at this establishment turned me away probably because I was black. They said that we violated the dress code even though I was dressed in business casual. I saw people in shorts and T-shirts get in behind me. On top of that, they told me to go to the tenderloin “where I belong”. I don’t know where this is acceptable behavior, but Temple lounge really needs to double check there hiring practices and make sure there is no racial biases.
Too bad I can’t give a rating lower than 1 star. Horrible experience would be an understatement. Phone got stolen out of my purse. There’s some sort of phone racket happening here. 7 of us went together to this place and 3 of us ended up losing our phones in the exact same way - purse got opened and phone missing. I spoke to atleast 7-8 others outside who were talking about the same thing - phone missing from purses. The entire experience was a disaster. Stay away from here
Really nice club,But crowded = very hot inside. And the lines to women bathroom are quite long as the previous reviewers mentioned. But the parties and nice, the second floor has a nice view. And both sound and lightning were awesome! Can recommend this place for sure.
A bouncer named Cartier damaged my real ID, didn’t ask me a single question, refused to scan it, and refused to give it back even after I walked a half hour home and back to show them and the other bouncers my passport to prove that it was a real ID. They were also refusing to let me even see the ID to get proof of the damages (which I need to qualify for a new legal ID), provide me with any of their names, or have a conversation with anyone else who worked at the club. They told me that the only way I could get my legal ID back (that they damaged) was if I called the police and for them to verify that it was real. After calling the non emergency line I waited for about 3 hours until I was finally able to get it back. Everyone was rude the whole time and all I was trying to do was get my damaged ID back and now I have to pay a lot to fly to my home state to get it replaced. Overall horrendous.
My boyfriend and I had a terrible experience at this place. While near the bar close to the exit, a bouncer started yelling at him and physically dragged him out for no reason. When I questioned their actions, two more bouncers grabbed me and forcefully removed me as well - I am a 100 lb small female and was CHOKED/man-handled by two 200+ lb men. They even knocked my phone out of my hand and refused to let me retrieve it. This kind of behavior is disgusting and unnecessary, and not an isolated incident. Our friend who came on a different night had the same treatment, and other reviews mentioning similar mistreatment make it clear that their security staff are extremely problematic, almost as if they take out their insecure masculinity issues on patrons. They need to hire better staff, but they seem unconcerned as these incidents continue to occur. I would rate them zero stars if possible.TLDR: DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO WASTE YOUR MONEY AND ENDURE PHYSICAL ABUSE BY POWER-TRIPPING SECURITY 🥴 There are way cooler venues in SF than this trash place.
Zedd was great, the staff ... not so much. I mean, I get it, patrons at these clubs are belligerent, rude, and just WAY TOO much, but I go to similar clubs in Vegas all the time, and, yes, security and staff are similar in nature, kind of rude, but I feel like Vegas is so much more high volume, the staff is just more prepared and better trained for these crowds. For example, I asked the security a question about the layout since Im unfamiliar, and he just scoffed and looked away, completely ignoring me. I mean, fine, I didnt care, Im a super chill guy and I figured it out myself after walking around, but the vibe was just not great. There was one staff member that I did ask a question to at the exit and he gladly answered it, but everyone else, I mean bro, if you dont like your job, sorry. We had tickets to come back the next night but we opted for the Castro -- Id rather be treated rudely there. It was the right choice bc I had a great time and met some great people. Again, thanks for Zedd! And good luck.
My overall experience here was meh. A couple of things:1. The security guard named, Moon, was extremely rude to one of my friends for no reason at all. We greeted him to get our ID’e checked and he proceeded to question my friend by saying “you said wsup to me like you were gonna ask me a question” and that “we shouldn’t just be walking up to him “like that”” and began to go on a tirade about who knows what. Once he found out that we booked a table, his whole demeanor changed. It’s extremely disgusting to see when a “security guard” tries to power trip you. He was very rude and some of the things he said were completely uncalled for.2. We booked a table upstairs and throughout the night - random people we’re coming up to our section, squeezing themselves between my friends and I to take pictures and proceeded to stay at our section until we told them the table was booked. What’s the point of booking a table that’s sectioned off from the general public if people are still going to be coming upstairs and taking up our space? Maybe you should have Moon guard the upstairs section.
If I could rate this place in the negatives, I literally would. First off, we came in, and it was 10:30, and me and my friend went to the bathroom, and some girl peed all over my legs from the next stall over. And someone had already puked in the girls bathroom at that point so we had to use the mens bathroom. Then, we went to walk by one of the tables, and some guy threw up all over my legs. There were people throwing up in trash cans everywhere, and it was just gross. I would not reccomend going here.
Was there Saturday (Nov 20th), had my phone stolen from my purse. Staff wouldn’t do absolutely anything, were absurdly rude and disrespectful and did not try to help at all. Same night, me and my friend also kept being followed by two men that wouldn’t take No for an answer and harassed us multiple timesover the time. Men were also sneaking around in the entrance of Women’s restroom every time I had to use, and security wouldn’t do anything, even though they saw it. Lack of management, improper handling of staff members… this place is the worst and would never recommend it to anyone.
Had my phone stolen out of my purse and overheard another girl near me who had her phone stolen as well. This place is notorious for phone theft - stay away. Also on another occasion, we had to confront security who had stolen my boyfriends wallet and denied having it. We knew they had it and didn’t back off until they finally handed it over.Shadiest/worst club in SF.
Thats a scam! I got 3 tickets right before the event, and when we arrived, security didnt let us in, saying that the venue was packed, so there was no space anymore! They suggested requesting a refund, so I did, but I never received it. Wasted time and money.
While the club design is nice the staff is ridiculously rude and unprofessional. They were yelling at my friends and kicked them out, and then dapping each other up as if one of their buddies hit a three in a basketball game. Had ridiculous rules and kept claiming real IDs were fake.
Terrible terrible terrible experience. It was my first time in there the night of January 4th. After midnight, I realized that my cell phone was gone from my purse. It was stolen. I did everything I could but the stuff wasnt helpful at all. Security made fun of me and told me I should be responsible taking care of my phone. End of the night, I realized that with me, 5 people had their phone stolen same night. Now I have been reading other reviews and I realized that this club is famous with stolen phones. That makes me think that the thieves maybe are in their stuff or they are helping and its all planned. Dont ever go, and if you go, just watch your stuff every minute. I will keep putting all kinds of bad reviews for this place in any app/website until they are closed. Do the same, its terrible, we trust and go to a place, and we are definitely not rich! Either pay people for their lost or close this freaking place as you cannot entertain people securely.
Had my phone stolen here last night when it was securely in my purse and overheard another girl having her phone stolen as well the same night. When talking to security they were unhelpful and didnt let me search the club or offer to help me find my phone. All the other reviews talk about phone thieves at this nightclub--I would avoid going here and if you do I would hide your belongings very well or avoid this club at all costs.
SHOUT OUT TO VALERIE SHE TOOK CARE OF US AND WAS SO AWESOME!!! I dont understand all the negative comments. I went here first time a Friday night. I got the VIP table no extra cost just a flat $500. It came with bottle of my choice for $400 or less and a champagne. It covered 9 people entrance and they came out with signs and lights for my birthday. We had security guard at no extra cost because ppl kept walking through our area. They had ice waters juices for mixers the whole nine yards for us. It was an amazing experience. We all had so much fun. The host were great. The cleaning people were great, cleaning the floors and tables when dirty. Dj had a mix of songs..awesome music.. gave a little tip and he gave out a shout out for my husband. Valerie would come check on us, dance with us and provided a great time. We did tip everyone not because they asked but because they were providing great service not a whole lot either but just a little something here and there. We were acting crazy not violent just in party mode but we did not get kicked out they let us enjoy ourselves. Love this place I would do it again. A bucket of 12 Coronas were 135 but its VIP what do you expect. Thank thank thank you everyone who made this experience so enjoyable!!
HORRIBLE SERVICE. It was my first time going to this club and payed a hefty fee to get into the club. On top of that, my phone was stolen along with 3 other people!! It was securely kept in my purse, and someone went in and took it. The staff was not helpful and said they are not responsible for it. It seemed like they had played a part in this. This club has to take some serious measures as these incidents are very common according to the reviews. This is a warning for all to not go to this club and if you do, please watch your belongings at all times.
Bouncers on a power trip, like to bully a mostly asian crowd. Fat African American bouncer looking to kick people out, mean mugging, and on a power trip. Chill out buddy, you wouldn’t keep the same energy out on the street. Complained to the little middle eastern manager and he did nothing to address the situation. Music is mid. Would not recommend, there are better clubs out there.
I went and waited for long. There were several rooms and some was nice but all in all average experience. Also:* If you put yourself on the VIP list to get in free. Be there real early as after 11 they dont accept it even if you have cued from 10.30.* Be very careful with your stuff. My friends phone was stolen right out of her handbag.
Such horrible and rude service at this place ! Would never think of going back . Went up to a staff member to politely ask what the Saturday cover was along with the wait time since we had a party bus with 15 people. He looked at us and said that wasnt his department and gave the cover but then continued with rudely saying there are absolutely no party busses allowed. We stated we would be consuming indoors and they refused . Another security person went to the party bus and let them know they would have cops called to escort anyone who tried going in . Ive never heard of such a thing . It was horrible .
When I went to this night club the security guard Lucy, the only female guard gave the best service in the place. Ill come again just to vibe with her
Temple was my go to club when I used to live in the Bay Area. There are three DJ rooms. Top floor is usually EDM and has a great sound system, a unique design and lighting. Bottom floor has a chill techno room and a hiphop room.Vibe always been great there. You definitely have to visit Temple if you like clubbing and visiting San Francisco.
Edit: the bathroom situation has gotten a little better (and hopefully it stays that way), but it is still crazy hot inside with the extra heat from the screens and the downstairs is still closed. There are two things a nightclub has to do right: sell drinks and let people go to the bathroom. YOU CANNOT GO TO THE BATHROOM AT TEMPLE. It is complete chaos and good luck ever making it through the bathroom line if you arent ready to win a mosh pit. The new screens are cool, but the new layout with 1 bathroom is a deal breaker. Dont go here unless you *know* it wont be busy (like on a Wednesday or something).
Security didn’t let me in for a hour than told me I was good to go and than told me get out again and threaten to fight me when I was already off to the side , one than gets in my face and fights and the other comes in and they were now both jumping me . And then the head security made them get off of me and let me in the club for free . I now have a concussion and a black eye .
Dope music and dance floor, absolutely terrible service. Got kicked out for taking a breather near the DJ. Apparently that’s forbidden since the bouncers “escorted” us out immediately. Were extremely aggressive for no reason. To make matters worse, none of the bouncers could explain why they did it. Seemed like they were doing it just for the fun of it. Place is run by masochists. Do not recommend if you enjoy having a good time.
This was the worst place I’ve ever visited in my life. I visited on a Saturday and there were
The bouncers at this place are very rude and can get physical for no reason. They shove you and push you for no reason when you have done nothing wrong. These guys need to step back and stop acting this way for no reason at all! I have always loved temple Sf but this particular experience with the bouncers today is going to make me reconsider going here ever.
LED lights everywhere! Two main rooms (upstairs and downstairs) plus a small side room with a bar. They bring in some pretty good talent, although not every night so check the schedule. Bouncers are pretty reasonable, bartenders are fast.I will second other reviews that mention pickpockets. Two of my friends lost their phones in the same night, both in unzipped purses. Keep your stuff safe!
Its hard to rate this club. The venue is sweet. The lights change colors with the music and the sound system is great. The night I went here they had really good electronic artists. It was set to be a fun night. If I only had to rate it on those criteria, definitely 4 stars. It could use some seating for the general public. The minimum $300 for what amounts to a coffee table on the dance floor is a bit much.On to the meat.I dont know if I went on a night where the bouncers were having a bad day, but I felt bullied by them.It was early in the night, and no one was really dancing, but the DJ started laying down some sick beats, so I went to dance. I wasnt being obnoxious, dangerous, or a nuisance in any way to anyone. I was in a mostly empty portion of the dance floor having a great time all by myself. All of a sudden, a bouncer pulls me aside, thinking Im on drugs. Im stone cold sober. When he realizes that, he tells me I need to turn it down a notch. Weird. I could understand if I was being ridiculous in some over the top manner, but this was not the case. With the wind out of my sails, I perch on a wall to catch my breath, shake off the momentary embarrassment and recharge. 5 minutes later the same bouncer comes by and tells me that if Im going to be stoic and not dancing, then I need to go home.At this point, I felt angry. No desire to dance anymore. MIGHT DANCE TOO HARD AND BE REMOVED! Lame. The rest of the clubbers never got going from what I saw. Regardless of the intensity of the music, they vibrated in place.Lame and tame is not the name of the game for me. People tell me my experience was a fluke, that SF is awesome and fun. Lets hope so, because this club was a huge disappointment.
This club is awesome. If you buy tickets in advance, you can get good deals and avoid huge lines, especially with early entry (before 11 PM).The main dance floor has solid sound and a really cool, unique, full ceiling-and-walls light display. It gets crowded but never totally stifling. The most frequent artists are popular house music DJs.There are two additional downstairs dance floors featuring deeper house and more poppy/twerk/ratchet music. Both are a nice break from the upstairs and feature their own bars.Definitely a place for dancing with a group of friends, not much opportunity to sit around and chat.
My first time being here, and all in all it was great. The music in 2 of the 3 rooms was exactly what I was hoping for. There were multiple bars with various wait times given the crowd flows throughout the night. There were also food options - which I wasnt expecting (I also didnt try any of it).The one real downer is that the drinks are $12+ for a tiny cup filled mostly with ice. I had three drinks and was barely buzzed. Also, theres a $20 minimum to use credit cards and the coat check is cash only - but there are ATMs inside. In addition, while the website says that theres a dress code, there were an awful lot of people there in sneakers and ripped jeans - not even attempting to dress the look up. Though the majority of people were dressed up.
One of the better, if not the best clubs in San Francisco. Working with the staff and the bottle service crew is great - they are quick and attentive, without being pushy or obnoxious. The venue is one of the few that play good EDM music. It does get a bit hot inside, especially if youre in the basement. The light visuals are decent for a club and the audio systems are very strong.Wide variety of different folks come here, ranging from very dressed down folks in hoodies to people very dressed up in suits. Always a good time if you go here with the right crowd.
Do you love awful music? Sure DJs are named on the fliers, but I dont think theyre people. This place is terrible. I think you have to be high on crack to be able to enjoy it even a little. DONT EVER GO HERE! EVER!Im keeping what I posted above in addition to this update, because those were my initial thoughts. With that being said, Im upping the review to three stars, which is average in my book. And Im doing so only because its not fair to the establishment to leave a scathing review after only 30 minutes.Go and see for yourself if its something youd enjoy.
This club is huge, there are 2 levels, top floor plays house music and level floor usually plays top 40s. I like staying downstairs because its music popping and the crowd are usually more fun. I usually get one strong drink here and then Im ready to have a ball. The staff are always super friendly and outgoing. I love the decor here, its like a temple, with the buddah decor.
I have been to Temple for years and it’s my go-to nightclub. However, I got the bad experience from the last visit that both of my phone and my bf’s phone were stolen. It seems like phone theft happen recently at this club as we reported to the cops and somehow they knew where the phones got stolen. I don’t feel safe coming here anymore. Temple please takes this issue seriously.
Why in the world would you not have water easily accessible? I tried to ask a worker and they suggested I drink out of the sink in the bathroom. They had good music playing, but at what cost
Had tickets to see Dash Berlin at Temple tonight for a sold out show and I have to say it is one of the WORST venues I have ever been too. The event was definitely over booked and the people were incredibly rude. The space was ridiculously small. The sound system was terrible. I truly dont understand how a venue of their size was able to book Dash.We left after only a few minutes because I was beginning to feel the venue was unsafe due to the amount of people that just kept pouring in. Ultimately extremely disappointed.
The crowd is early 20s. The line and bouncers are like old 1015. If you have any experience clubbing... Youd know better than to test it on a night like green velvet. Sound gets soaked up, so while they have decent speakers the quality sucks. Very disappointed
Awesome ambience acoustics and amplifiers. Humble staff and DJ just blow your mind!!Drew Clayman the promoter for the club is super helpful and always gets the best deals!!
The bouncers were so mean they were not even listening to anything anyone said even though the people rented out the club for the night. Unacceptable and rude behavior- will never be going back.
Went to have a fun night out and had a terrible time. Decided to get bottle service asked the waitress and the host about prices they told us it would be 325 for the bottle and that included gratuity so we agreed to that amount when the waitress came we gave her 300 in cash and I told her to put the rest on my card she brings back a receipt for me to sign for 173 dollars when I asked her what the charge was for she said tip and fees. I asked to speak with a manager seeing that I was being charged for things I was told that I would not be charged for and when talking with the manager he said oh well you have to pay it calls the police to the back office where I am told to either sign off and pay the outrageous tip amount or go to jailFor theft I could not believe that they could do something so unprofessional and not business like. When I told them I was not signing for them to steal my money I was handcuffed and told I was going to jail. So I ended up signing the paper and they stole my money from me and let’s say this I will never purchase or be a customer of there’s ever again and I will make sure to let everyone know they shouldn’t either
The alcohol is fairly pricy, if ur going here with a date expect to spend a couple hundred on drinks. Food is convenient, there are multiple bars and tables available so u may order alcohol within a few steps. The bar near the door is usually fairly empty since everyone crowds around there bars in the dancing area. There is a smoking area in the back with someone walking around selling shots in test tubes. It gets expressly crowded around midnight but if u wanna dance go in around 2 once the bars are closed and the crowd has died out and dance the night away since the music stops at 4am. Cheers!!!
The establishment is nice however, if Asian women or men arent your preference, then I recommend enjoying a weekend out somewhere else. There are around 5 different rooms each with their own DJ and style but only 2 get popping. A lot of LED lights and intricate designs on the clubs floors.
The vibes are BAD. Got harassed more than I ever have in my life and it was so packed people couldnt even dance :/ the staff wasnt necessarily unfriendly to queer folks but the crowd was terrible.
Pretty cool place actually. My friends and I got bottle service which meant we got to skip the line and avoid the cold. The decor and ambience gave off a Vegas-y vibe. The bottle service girls were cute and friendly and from beginning to end it was smooth sailing. Ill be back one day :)
Finally I went to the Temple after hearing a lot about it. Cover charge:$30 -not bad actually for what the club provides. From what I explored, there ASR’s three clubs. The main one is at the entrance playing techno music. It’s a big space so you won’t feel claustrophobic. The other two dance floors are in the basement. Both have good enough space as well. Doesn’t get really hot, they have ACs. They played more of top latest music with Mexican music too. This is the first club I’ve seen that has its own custom printed plastic cups.
Pretty good nightclub. Two floors with the main playing electronic and the basement playing top 40 music. Packed with a lot of guys and some appear creepy. There is also no air circulation in the basement so it gets real hot. Free entry before 11 if you are on the guest list.
A great place to go out dancing in San Francisco. The club features several different rooms so if you dont care for the music upstairs you can dance to something different downstairs. I also like that they photograph all patrons who enter the club for security reasons.
I would never go back to this place again! I’ve got my phone stolen past Saturday and other people also had their wallet and and phones stolen that night but the management is not doing anything about it. They also mentioned there are not any cameras that they can check which sound surprising to me.Just close the place if you can not manage it.
I really like the Temple SF make over. The lights are amazing, and whats even better is that it feel roomier now. The bar staff was pretty nice, with the exception of one who lectured me about going to the bartender that has your tab.Music was fun! Its like choose your own adventure! Upstairs is EDM (Deep house on this night, so I wasnt really feeling it). Downstairs was some really ratchet Hip Hop!!! Needless to say I was downstairs twerking most of the night!I like Temple, with the exception of a couple of staff members that are too eager to power trip, it was an overall good experience.
My friend’s and 5 other people’s phones were stolen last night, the security guards were useless and rude. They laughed at my friend who was trying to make an effort to get her phone back. The music was okay, but people not so great, kinda weird combination of ages and looks. No dress code at all as well. My first and last time at Temple. Don’t waste your time and money!
Wow. This venue is hot. Multi-level and several different rooms each with their own DJ, dance floor and bar. The music and the mix of people was great, no attitudes or bs that I could see, and I think staff had a lot to do with that. My date has cerebral palsy and confined to a wheelchair, but she was treated like a rock star and got VIP treatment. A kind staffer pulled us out of line when we were waiting in the rain and gave her and our helper free passes. And several times we got help moving thru the crowd by clued staff who cleared a path we otherwise couldnt have done alone. The top of the top however was getting flagged by the dj on the main floor and staff comming to get her and bringing her front and center where we danced and made out right in front of everybody like it was just another Friday night. As I write this she is still glowing and likely will for a very long time to come. Definitely the best night out clubbing we have had by far.
All the negative comments are just amateur kids that don’t know how to have a good time.
Hot, sweaty, and crowded. Inadequate ventilation, overcrowded dance floor and outdated styling make this a club that should be avoided. They do have an outdoor smoking area where you can go cool down, but it doesnt make the inside any better.
Huge nice place. Theres like 3 different music and dancing space. Hip hop was so crowded. I had a blast. First time at a San Francisco club I would definitely go back.
The bouncer with dreads ruined the whole club experience for me and my gf. I went to restroom and met her at side bar. He walked over to us and poured our drinks in the trash. It was 1:50am and that side bar was closing at 2am, didn’t give us option to chug drinks or anything. Just instantly poured them in garbage five minutes after bartender just gave them to us. I told him he is unprofessional and that’s not how security is suppose to behave. Me and my gf reported him to head of security some guy name Phoenix. Hopefully he had a talk with the A hole bouncer with dreads. This club is a no go for us, i don’t recommend this place to anyone. Plenty of other clubs to go to. STay Away from temple
It’s a good place if you pay VIP. If not you are going to wait over 30 minutes to get your drink. But is a nice place with good DJs! Had a lot of fun
Staff does not care for customers’ safety and well being. The lack of security resulted in a man sneaking into the women’s restroom to record them. And the staff still to this day has not own up to their mistake nor taken any actions to resolve the current and future issue. Be careful ladies
Neat nightclub I went to (there was a Engadget event being hosted there). Cool, multi level space (downstairs is semi psychedelic with neon, black lights, and 2 more bars). Cant wait to come back during a normal evening- space seems very cool. Good booze selection and a place to go and smoke without leaving the bar (rooftop area).
I love this club one you get in. Long lines, but definitely worth the drinks and music. Every night there open its crowded and fun. 3 different rooms playing different music the ultimate club experience for the bay area. Good for couples and groups
The music is always great here. Experience in VIP is top notch, the service is very professional.I’d highly recommend reserving Table through Drew. Never had a better experience!!
Im definitely a fan of the new look of Temple now. The sound system and all the crazy lights and lasers are a huge step up from what was there before. The improvements to the lower floor also make it feel a lot less dungeony. Its now brighter and more welcoming. Temple also gets some good names to dj now, which is another bonus. The only thing stopping me from being excited about Temple is the crowd. It just gets way too crowded and hot inside. Its hard for me to have a good time when theres no room to move around and dance. While Temple definitely looks really pretty inside now, I never really feel like going unless my friends want to.
This place sucks... I came after midnight at newyears in the list and with recommendations for the manager of the club and after $50 dollars uber, but the bouncer simply wanted to demostraste more power than the manager didn’t let us in and excused himself by saying sorry but the manager isn’t here so i can order you not to come but let a lot of people in the club right in front of us we waited for more than an hour in the cold . Terrible experience after a great week in San Francisco we have to leave with this awful experience and starting a brand new year 2019!!! This bouncer Simply mad and jealous of the manager also awful presentation of the boucer for a club this “category” he should be fired. Terrible BS of reviews this place closes at 4 mentira
People were moshing to techno 💀Edit for their reply: I love techno, I’m just saying the crowd that goes here is awful and the venue does nothing to make itself inviting to actual fans of music.
First time there and it was not good. This female bartender to the left bar when you walk in, ignore us and helped the guys next to us when we was there first. We exchanged words and she try to get us kick out.. it didnt even make sense. On top of that some girl was talking stupid that I bumped into her and she broke her phone which I did not.. definitely will not be going there ever again!!!
*This bar uses physical intimidation to maintain its reputation.*Terrible experience from start to finish:1) No where on the website does it say a) no hats or b) no tanks. Friends wearing either were denied entry2) Venue denied drinks to a friend with no justification (this friend had literally just entered and not even had the opportunity to drink)3) When leaving, a bouncer (from 3/4-3/5/17) got up in all of our faces and accused my friend of inappropriate touching. We were literally through the doorway and out, no one was nearby. When I questioned this bouncer if he was right, he got in my face and threatened me physically if I would dispute him. We left. *This bar uses physical intimidation to maintain its reputation.* I, nor any of my friends, will every come back to this bar.If you value your safety or dignity, go to one of the many *other* bars or clubs nearby. This club does NOT deserve your patronage.
Big shoutout to Ceci B. who was there every step of the way to help me and my group get cheap tickets to the club before they announced that g-Eazy was coming and saved us like 30 bucks!! The music was awesome (I really love EDM and the artist killed it). A really enjoyable experience overall - my one drawback is that the drinks are as small as those little plastic sample cups that you get on airplanes, and theyre $12 at the cheapest. Everything else was great though.
Overcrowded. Got kicked out because a waitress tried to push me. $40 waisted. Dont go to this club. They do not respect their clientelle.PS: I bought a grand total of 8 drinks for me and my friends: 4 of them martinis that were just straight gin. 4 of them stone sours that were just vodka and oj. So dont go here for the mixed drinks either
Went here for the second time, for the new years party. The music couldve been better - didnt seem to justify the $100 entry. I do like their ambiance and lighting effects. They typically have long queues if you go after 10.
Main stage had no A/C, and during Cheat Codes set they didnt even have the fans on. They also blasted a hot sweaty crowd with confetti several times. Would be one star, but Im adding one because there are other smaller hidden dance floors in the building.
Went to see Green Velvet. I was unaware no hats are allowed. No big deal. I asked to put hat in my bag and coat check. Security shakes head and suggests to put in my car. I took Bart over and ask if theres anything I can do. He says no. Really? Okay, thanks.
Temple is one of the better clubs Ive been to especially compared to the ones in San Jose. That being said, theres usually a pretty long line and if you dont preorder, tickets at the door are $40. At least thats how much it was when I went there on a Saturday night. Good place to go to for party goers under thirty. There are two levels; the ground level having edm music and lights and what not and the basement having more hip hop music with dim red light persisting throughout.
The interior lighting of the club is very ghetto. They use round light bulbs which give the whole atmosphere a very dated and cheap vibe instead of LED strips. I can understand that renovating the club costs a lot of money but if this club is touted as one of the best in the city, it definitely needs to up its lighting game. Maybe add a couple of Harman or Elation moving heads.
Me and my friends went to this place last night, it wa very good music and I love the dance floors and all the lights. But the staff could be less pushy the cleaning staff will push you out of the way to go mop in the middle of the dance floor.......
I thought I was going to have a great time but I was wrong. The vibe was weird. Not only that the WORST PART was One of the employees grabbed my butt as he was walking past. It was very unprofessional and as a woman it makes me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I will never be coming there again.
Very unfriendly staff. got kicked out on my 21st after someone pulled me and a friend behind the dj booth. Bouncer wouldnt budge to let us back in as girls 5 times as drunk as us stumbled out of the club.
Terrible service, the music is terrible. For this I would rather go to a house party with high schoolers, drinks are horrible, bar tenders are completely incompetent. It takes forever to get a drink and somehow they still mess it up after making you wait 30 min. Worst place I have ever been if I could give them 0 stars I would. Never go here
If you like hip-hop and top 40 & house music, they got em here with two floors different genres, just vibing out is pretty cool and fun here. As a street dancer, theres open cyphers here and there if you want to get down Fridays and its pretty dope. Drinks a little pricey in my opinion, but shouldnt stop you from having a good time. Thats it. peace
I wast celebrating my 21st birthday party with my friends and everything was going as planned till I went to the restroom. So I walk into the mens bathroom with my chanel boy bag in hand it was packed so I turned around and walked out when this tiny security guard starts pushing me and man handling me because according to him I pushed him. 1 minute later another security guard sees what hes doing and tells him to let me go and explain but hes reason was that I touched him when in reality my bag must of touched his back and he tought I was trying to grab his ugly as like boy buy youre a security guard dont nobody want you. Ive never been treated in my life so bad like they did at this club just terrible.NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE THE BOUCERS ARE ON DRUGS BECAUSE THE SECURITYS PUPILS WHERE HUGE.
You know when you partner with a club and they take care of you amd your guests.....this is NOT the place. Never try to have a promtion with them. Their vip guest list line is slower than all other lines. And they wont even help you out when things get confusing, customer service is non existant and promoters not helpful. Promoters dont take care of you. They book you into a horrible situation and leave you hanging.
The security guys are racists. And if you accidentally bumped into their shoulder or something similar and they get pissed off, then they throw you out of the club no matter what.Other security or workers don’t even question why Tou are getting thrown away but just team up with the security and kick you out. They just want you to pay to get in and and kick you out any time. I heard around from everywhere that they do it so that they can clear out the peopel for more people. And they do that especially to asians. Don’t go there for clubbing.
Bottle service here was absolutely horrible.. was a million degrees upstairs and couldnt even finish our first bottle without having to leave. Music was amazing though. Not worth giving another chance after my experience though.
Its night club which has two floors, usually the one at the bottom has hip hop playing and the top one has new djs playing everytime from house to pop depending on the day. Not one of my favorites as they always have a cover charge which doesnt justify the place. Have street food in the back. The staff is not the friendly and usually a typical crowd comes to the place.
Went on a Friday night. It was really crowded, hot, and stuffy. The drinks tasted like rubbing alcohol. I threw mine away without finishing it. Not worth $40.
Came here for a private party. This venue has multiple rooms, each room with different design. There wasnt much seating that night but we found our way to seats upstairs and enjoyed watching the band from upstairs. Fun Fun Fun
This place is on-par with Vegas nightclubs but with a techie crowd. Get tickets early and skip the lines. And dress for heat - it’s roasting in there! Probably a consequence of having such a low ceiling.
Такой себе клубец. В СФ есть и получше. Да много азиатов, что круто, и музыка хорошая и оформление и свет. Но общий контингент не соответствует претензиям клуба. Ощущение что люди пришли понтонутся а реально к этому ещё не готовы)(Translated by Google)Such a club. There are better ones in SF. Yes, there are a lot of Asians, which is cool, and the music is good and the design and lighting are good. But the general contingent does not correspond to the clubs claims. There is a feeling that people have come to show off, but in reality they are not ready for this yet)
Love coming to temple, theres two floors. They play house music on the top floor and top 40s downstairs. The atmosphere is cool, it does get crowded at times. But good service.
Fun club once you are in but bouncers and security seem to have trouble with spoken communication. Most questions I ask, which typically pertain to entrance into the establishment, are usually met with blank stares and tension.
If you like the popped collar douchemachine crowd in a venue that basically just plays the radio on loud speakers def go here. Extreme basic suburban nightclub experience in whats otherwise one of the most interesting cities in the world.
Temple is the spot for late night kickin it! Its usually open until at least 3 but I think they close at 4 so if you are not ready to go home after last call where ever you are then head over to temple and get your dance on for another 2 hours at least!EDM upstairs R&B / Hip-Hop downstairs and something I could not identify in a small room downstairs with a circle of dancers...When Temple closes if you are still not done... you can head to The EndUp its where everyone that is still awake at 4am ends up.
The clubbing experience was pretty good and if you are booking a table the security and the services are really good.
Rude people at the door and music is ok kind . Drinks are expensive . People go to the clubs/bars to have a good time . This place is not a good place to go and have fun
I love that they have about 3-4 dance floors, different types of music and 3 full bars. hot dog by the smoking area after that binge drinking. what more can you ask for on a sat night?!
We have a friend visiting from Africa he has only ID from Africa he can’t let him in The first security guy tell us to take care of him and he want $100 hahahahhThat’s a really weird place
This place needs to go - they let creepy men film girls from under the stalls in the girls bathroom and don’t take any measures to call the police or make sure these people get the repercussions they deserve. Do not go here - it’s absolutely disgusting the way they treat their clients
Went here last night and FOUR of my friends got their phone stolen. Security attempted to but in actuality couldnt do anything about it. I read the reviews before going there and couldnt believe it actually happened to literally all my friends in one night. It is EXTREMELY ridiculous that this is a constant occurrence and they fail to address it in an effort to fix the problem. SMH
Be careful with your phones ,wallets and belongings . The club is nice with a all around diverse crowd but your stuff will get snatched if you don’t hold onto it
Had guestlist tickets but had to be in the venue by 11. We got there before 10:30 and didnt even make it in on time. They made sure the line went very slowly so we all would have to wait and eventually pay instead.
Has 3 different floors. Two edm one hip hop with some edm mixed in. Drinks pricey and cover charger was 30 the night we came
Amazing crowd in a cool space. Top floor is with fancy lights all over and downstairs is dark hip hop area. Mostly asian people.
Super fun! I bought tickets online for 15 bucks, so we can skip the huge line in front of the club. And 3 dollar coatcheck per item!
Went for house music and got some weird psytrance.. blah. Not my best experience. Got in for free though, so that was nice. Interesting place, dont think Ill go back.
$30 cover charge at 2:30am when no longer serving alcohol. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL who do these dorks think they are? This isnt Miami, gtfoh with that garbage. Might as well pay less at a China/Japantown underground afterhours place that is actually serving alcohol. Clowns gonna clown.
Great vibe especially with Bollywood Night they had. But ridiculously expensive
HEY GUYS BE CAREFUL IN THIS PLACE!!!. I was assaulted and robbed by Temple Security guard. He took my money and took my Google Pixel phone!. I was keep trying to get my money and phone back but He tried to make me scare and to fight with me.
Came here with multiple friends and they snapped all of my friends real IDs. Absolutely ridiculous.I even had a friend with a fake ID and he was the only one who went through???
This is the fist bar i went to and I love it. the DF was great and so was the decor. just a tip, if you go to their company website you can signup for the guest list. it will save you cover charge at the entrance :-)
Security guard kicked me and a friend out over some lie two girls told him. Security guard wouldnt listen to us at all. Waste of $40
I really enjoy this place, 9 time out of 10 itsa good crowd good music. The drinks are pretty cooly priced. and the neighborhood is usually calm and safe
TEMPLE is the place to go when you want to dance all night. Sweaty people all around but the place is amamzing. you get so go to different levels and sections with different music so you never get board! if you see the manager defs ask for THE GODDEST CARD. youll find out what that is......
Bought a ticket days in advance. Had to wait in a line a block long with people that had no tickets despite clearly showing the staff that I had a ticket. Didn’t end up getting in. Paid for absolutely nothing.
Worst place to go dance on the planet, I never want to go back there EVER AGAIN!!! There music is bad quality and their drink glasses taste like they havent been cleaned 😝
This club is unsafe for women. The staff and security do little to nothing to make women feel safe and handle situations poorly.
Too hot today. No air flow at all. Fully packed. Not sure if they over booked.
Its ok. they have like 3 floors glow in the dark paintings a great place to like get your glow in dark dark clothes and just rock out
Went there last night. Had a great time. Great friendly staff. Roberto did a great job, very professional and hes fine as hell!!😘Like this place!! Thank u
Not enough bars for the amount of people they can fit. They will not serve you tap water when drunk and you ask for it. They force you to buy bottled water
