The Fillmore is one of the original venues that Ive had the pleasure of visiting all these years. A lot of the most amazing bands and solo artists have and still do play here. Easy in and out underground parking in the garage across the street. The lighting and sound at the venue are spectacular. I am looking forward to my next show there. Recently saw KMFDM. Great show! Great venue!
The Fillmore is truly a San Francisco institution and a historical landmark as well as top tier venue for live music. I’ve been countless times, probably more than any other venue in the Bay Area. They give out free posters on your way out the door at shows that sell out far enough in advance to commission the artist and get them printed. They have hundreds of them on display there and I have a few on my walls from shows I attended. Everyone should see a show at The Fillmore. If you haven’t been yet then pick something upcoming and go experience it there.
Fillmore is a pretty nice place to see a show. I saw No Vacation there. There is so much history and fun photos and other concert memories st the venue you could spend all night just seeing photos. The venue is medium-sized, so dont expect a small intimate experience. But it sounds good and easy to see the stage from anywhere.Parking is easy and cheap right about a block away, which is rare in SF. Also, they give out concert posters, which is just such an awesome rare thing these days.
First time at the Filmore on Geary Blvd and I am grateful I went. They pat you down to check for metals and I felt completely safe. Very spacious inside. The decor was beautiful reminded me of the warfield in a way 😍.The people who worked there are nice and kind. Offered beverages and checking on guests.I look forward for the next show indeed!! ✨️
Travelled to this nostalgic venue from the UK to see Kim Gordon. What a Great experience. Individual rooms inside with photos of artists that have played venue over the years. The staff are brilliantly friendly. Bought t-shirt fab souvenir. Highly recommend for a gig. Drinks are very expensive be warned.
Love this venue. Has a big venue feel with the history but small enough to see the stage clearly from the back of the crowd. Great staff as well. Definitely a live music paradise. Wish drinks were cheaper but theyre reasonable compared to most concert venues in SF these days.
I’ve always wanted to go to a show at the OG Fillmore. Let me tell you, awesome. Great collection of art from historical concerts of note. Who knew they had food. Chandelier in the main hall sure did add the sparkle. Nice folks working the place proud of its history in the San Francisco scene. Thank you for a great night. (Oh and Dawes was also great!)
Been going to the Fillmore for decades now, its an iconic venue. Were lucky to still have it around! Every music lover should go there, at least once!
Iconic SF live music venue. Every legendary band and artist has performed here. No matter what kind of music youre into, its very likely youll find a concert youll enjoy. The acoustics are good and the floor is well ventilated. You might want to check your coat if its a lively crowd, though. If its your first time at the Fillmore, do yourself a favor and arrive when the doors open so you have time to go upstairs and check out all the photos and posters of all the people who have performed at this venue. Its an impressive array.Park at the Japan Center garage for a low-stress parking experience. Its one block away. But honestly, street parking isnt that hard if youre willing to walk a few blocks. We usually park on Geary, across from the Japan Center with no trouble. After 6:00, theres no 2 hour limit.
Drove up from LA to see Margo Price here. Spectacular show (see my videos of her doing White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane). Sound and light was amazing and staff was great. Show was sold out but it wasnt cramped and lines were fine. Backstage area is super small for the size of the venue. I guess unless you are with the band it doesnt matter. I think handicap access is an issue, entrance and exit were both steep staircases and I didnt see any Ada accommodations.
Went to see BUCKETHEAD & aside from a kind of LONG pre-show wait (no opening act) it was a FANTASTIC show! I managed to snag a seat at one of the few tables in the balcony on the 2nd level - tip: get there EARLY for any event if you want one bc they go FAST! Also had a great arugula & roasted beet salad off that nights menu & definitely recommend it. It was big & super tasty for only $16. Its been a while since Ive gone to a show at the Fillmore, but just like in the past its a great venue. 👍🏻
They smoked everything legal in the pit, but Im not sure about upstairs. I didnt stay there for long. Staff were nice enough, just doing their jobs per usual. Bathrooms got messy, but with somewhere around 100 or so people in one place, it happens. Didnt run out of TP or soap, so I a thumbs up in my book. Its best to book tables ahead of time or show up EARLY for your show otherwise youll be looking like a lost kid trying to find their mom trying to find a place youre okay with standing in.
Have always had a good experience at this historical music venue. Its well-kept and the staff is cool. Standing room only on the ballroom floor, with some seating in the balcony. The chandeliers make for some cool photos.
2 things matter most when it comes to music venues and The Fillmore has all 4. Yes I said they have 4 of the 2 things that matter most when it comes to music venues.1. AtmosphereIts The Fillmore for Petes sake! The, The Fillmore!! This place oozes atmosphere and is steeped in musical history!2. AcousticsThe Fillmore is like a well broken in set of perfectly tuned speakers. Its highs are high and its lows are low. And the mids are for Andy Frasco!3. StaffEvery person we came into contact with had a smile and were very welcoming. It was our 1st time at The Fillmore and Id give the staff a big fat A++4. FoodIm an eater so I was super excited to get a table and be able to order a cheese burger! It was pretty darn good too!
Went to Phil and Friends 11/3/23. Been a while since I was there but the staff was accommodating and courteous There is a small menu for food and plenty of bars. I had the impossible burger and hazy IPA The only drawback was they quit handing out the free posters after the show even though they had plenty left
Cute venue. Not too large but not too small. Security and check in was smooth and polite. Parking on the street was not hard to find within a few blocks walk.Drinks were more reasonably priced then other venues. Also shout out to security for ensuring the sides stayed clear for a walkway.Theres the main floor and then a balcony area. A nice sized bar at the back. Large bathrooms.
Ive been going to concerts at The Fillmore for decades, and it NEVER disappoints. Always a cozy feeling, great drinks and not a bad seat (you stand) on the house. The acoustics are top shelf. If a band you love is playing here, BUY TICKETS.
Amazing venue. Great staff and crew and a nice big and loud sound system. Beautiful architecture with so much rich history- everyone has played here! The large bowl of apples at the front door is welcoming and classic also- and apparently it’s an old tradition that the legendary promoter Bill Graham started in the 60s (or 70s).
The Fillmore is one of San Franciscos most legendary music venues. Theyve hosted some of the most important musicians of all time. Bands like the Grateful Dead, Radiohead, Tom Petty, AFI, BB King, Cypress Hill, Hot Tuna, Mos Def, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, andthe list goes on and on. If youre a lover of music like me then the Fillmore is a Mecca that you simply must make the pilgrimage to at least once.
Beautiful theater. GA on Ticketmaster means general audience. GA = standing room only. Get there early if you want to see the stage - the theater floor is not graded, so if youre in the back, you just see a lot of peoples heads. There is a coat room and a small diner on the second floor. If you want a table with the view of the stage, get there early. They do have air conditioning, so we didnt need jackets inside the theater. It can get a bit hot, but it wasnt clear to me if you had to buy water or if you could byo.
Went there for Ali Gatie concert. Place was nice! Drinks were cool! Just felt like speakers weren’t strong enough and the line outside was moving fast but ridiculously long. They do need to upgrade their music system in there and their security procedures.Overall had fun, concert was great and crowd was amazing!
Awesome venue. Haven’t been here is a very long time and we enjoyed seeing Ben Rector so much! Makes us want to check the schedule for more shows! We see lots of concerts and love the small venues. This one seems to have great sound.Crowd was fun and everyone was friendly. Can’t wait to see another show!
A historic venue that has faltered with age.Recently saw Helmet and the Cro-Mags at the Fillmore. The show was good, but the sound was flat and washy. I’ve seen hundreds of bands at this venue going all the way back to 1997. The sound can be hit or miss and more recently, it’s been bad. Hopefully the venue invests in some better sound options in the future. For now, I’ll be looking for shows at other venues.
SF music venue rich in history and culture. Make sure to get there early to look at all the photos of past performances and the poster room. also appreciate their efforts to reduce waste by using reusable cups for drinks! 10/10
The venue is great, amazing sound team, awesome ambience, imbued with decades of music history, but maybe eat before you go.Drinks seem expensive, $5 soda, $15 beer, $20 shots, the food prices were good, it tasted ok, but caused later GI distress and both-ends evacuation
The venue is great and the staff is amazing. We had a medical issue arise during a concert there, and the medical people on duty were so wonderful to my wife, and Im grateful for their care.
Venue staff is incredibly kind. They sat with me while I wasn’t feeling well and also helped me find my Uber in the rain. The venue itself is nice as well, but this is more praise for the staff. Thank you for going above and beyond for me
Great venue! When you walk in there’s a box of apples that’s says “take one or two” which was perfect since I was starving. I ate it while listening to the openers, and then was pumped for the show! We saw The Beths. The venue is great and small enough that you can see from almost wherever you are standing.
The Fillmore SF is a museum of music. Posters line the walls of all the acts that have passed through. This place has a soul. Legendary venue.
My first time at this venue to see The Revolution Princes former band. The experience was magical. It rained we stood in line for 2 and a half hours and everyone there staff included were so nice. The inside was beautiful. There is very limited seating but, if you call a head it is there. The sound was fantastic I just have nothing but great memories and warm feelings. There was a 3rd floor with posters from the years of people who have performed their over the years. I truly felt that this was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Just amazing! I didnt get great picture too excited about the show. You have to be there yourself to know. 5 Stars!
Wonderful atmosphere. I love that tradition runs deep. Every guest is greeted and welcomed and a basket of apples is always available. The sound is great from any spot.
Interesting history. Seems a shadow of its former self. But outside the building, without warning, a homeless guy wearing a Golden State Warriors blanket like a cape and otherwise clad only in underwear walked up behind me and threw a big hunk of concrete at the back of my head. It hit me between the shoulder blades, so there was no loss of consciousness, but it added a dash of suspense and excitement, so theres that. My young son was quite freaked out by it, so if Blanket Guy is part of the Fillmore hospitality staff, Id consider rethinking his approach.
The Fillmore is a San Francisco establishment grounded in history dating back to Bill Graham and The Grateful Dead.Spacious, good acoustics, tons of shows.
One of my favorite venues to watch a show. Staff is generally pretty good, but can be a little sensitive. The bar is pretty efficieny...the get you your drink pretty quick for the amount of people that are in attendance. Bathrooms...well, drink more so you dont care...lol. Other than that I enjoy my outings here.
I love it. Go upstairs and see all the years of flyers and have a beer at happy hour.See a show. Tonight - its Sammy Hagars benefit for kids cancer. And it was rocking! Nancy Wilson from Heart. What a guitar player! Oh, Joe Satriani, talk about guitar! Tom Jonstone of Doobie Brothers and his daughter. Rick Springfield, and more.Talk about fun and history all in one!
Ive been to a few concerts these past couple of months and the Fillmore is definitely one of my favorites. The chandeliers are stunning, and the light work was amazing. I really liked the layout, however it proved to be detrimental as it took us about 10 minutes to exit the building as the only exit is a narrow corridor down stairs. Staff was very friendly, and it was very clean when we got there.
Whats not to love about the Fillmore? Its perfect. Wonderful acts always coming through, refillable water bottles permitted, self serve ice water jugs on both bars, decent food options upsatairs, free apples downstairs, friendly/kind staff & security, & a free poster of the band you just saw as you exit. I love it so much that Im going 3 times this week haha.
Oh the memories I’ve logged at The Fillmore. So many shows! Not only is the venue loaded with cool posters of all the bands that have passed through since its inception, the sound system will rock your a**. Oh San Francisco…. Take another little piece of my heart!
Great venue for an intimate concert. Friendly staff and awesome entertaining location. A lot to explore beyond just enjoying the concert. They have a fabulous bar area upstairs with posters all over the walls with tall ceilings, so theres a lot, from the many years of being in business. And many tables with chairs to sit with your friends and enjoy the atmosphere together. Near the performance stage, off to the left is the area to purchase merch from the bands and then another bar which also has free water for someone like me, who doesnt partake in alcohol. Its a great intimate venue for enjoying live music.
What a great old school venue!! The only downside is no seating, all standing. The big plus is they give you a poster from the show when you leave.
Took my ex to see Second Hand Serenity here. Pretty cool venue with a lot of history in its walls. Vibes are superb.
Great smaller venue. Good free parking around the area on the street. Seems like a safer area of San Francisco and we had no issues with break ins. Saw neon trees here and it was really fun. Drinks are over priced so find a place to pregame.
Amazing venue in a cool neighborhood. Staff was excellent and efficient. Super cool photos of comedy and music legends all over the walls. Probably my favorite place in SF now that Slims is closed. Only complaint is its part of Ticketmaster/live nation monopoly so expect only one option for buying tickets and at least $20 in fees per ticket over face value.
One of the best venues in SF. If you have time before the show, grab and apple and head upstairs to see the poster room. The venue itself is in wonderful shape, with so many original details. The staff is so nice, and the lineup is great. And the posters are always 10/10.
Went to see Simple Plan here. It’s an older concert venue so the line extends out to a few blocks but they have bouncers who help manage the line. Very traditional concert venue, can probably house a couple of thousand people. They serve food inside and also have a room where they display posters of all iconic performers that performed at this venue historically. If you get to go here for a concert, it’s a good place to have fun!
This was my very first time going to The Filmore. We went to see Devin Townsend. He was opening up for Avatar. We also saw Dance With The Dead, also opening.I LOVED this venue so much. Its beautiful, filled with amazing history, the staff is super friendly, and we were amazed that they have people come into the crowd to take drink orders & then deliver them! That is no small feat. Id drop them if I attempted that. Haha I think the only negative is that there isnt convenient parking. Thats just San Francisco for ya, though. Id definitely recommend this venue, and Ill be going again the next opportunity that comes along!
A nice space for shows, with some seating on the left side balcony. The floor seems slightly wider than that of the Great American Music Hall, with unobstructed views unless you are behind a wall at the bar. On the night that I went to see the all ages Dinosaur Jr. show, the vocals were kinda low in the mix and there was too much weed in the air.
Favorite live music venue in SF. Filled with history, chill patrons and great acts.
Iconic intimate venue made by and for the performers. Impossibly full of charm, history and gauzy nostalgia this is a must-see spot that can make a real claim at being the very beating artistic heart of the city. Plus free apples!
What a cool venue. Yes, I know Im about 40 years late, but I saw a concert at the Filmore tonight for the first time. Acoustics were good. Had drinks and a hamburger (one of the real ones) and the food and drink were bordering on Excellent! The staff were professional if not friendly. All in all, an enjoyable night out improved by the venue. The historical posters for Cream, Traffic, Jefferson Airplane/Starship didnt hurt either. (Edited to correct a typo).
Saw Hania Rani for the 1st time. Awesome experience. Get there early to get seats upstairs for a comfortable experience. If youre like me and get claustrophobic a bit, its a great idea to go upstairs. Great, friendly bartenders.
In my opinion the best place not only to see a concert but to hear a concert The Fillmore auditorium is a historical gem .Love it !However, the Fillmore box office need to get their act together again I went to get a tickets after checking their website to make sure they were open so I drove an hour to save $$ but instead I wasted time and spend more $$ .Come on guys how hard is it to edit your website ? give us a break.
Great venue for seeing your favourite bands. We happened to see Biffy Clyro, and even from a little ways back you still felt close to the band. The sound here was good, nice acoustics. The decoration inside seems to hold on to its history, which we appreciated! The staff were friendly, and free apples, water and a poster were provided which is always welcome!
An absolutely beautiful venue. Sound is great, especially if the sound engineer knows what theyre doing. It is upstairs and I am unsure if there is an elevator available or some sort of ramp to get to the main hall. They are completely digital so make sure you bring a digital form of payment to the venue. There is very limited seating (the events Ive attended have been standing room GA only) so prepare to stand the whole time. Merch gets tucked away near one of the bars and gets VERY crowded so prepare for that. All my interactions with the venue staff have been positive and helpful, theyve got some good people there. Street parking around the venue can be sparse especially during the busy weekends, but there is a parking garage under the AMC theater across the street (I am unsure if youre actually allowed to park there, I just know that many people do.) Plenty of food and things to do around the venue if you dont want to wait in line. Overall its a great place to catch a rock concert and I absolutely love coming here for shows.
Went to a concert with Lukas Graham, not a good experience: Unfriendly staff, poor sound quality, and it took us 30+ minutes to get OUT of the building after the concert. Wonder what they do if theres a fire.....
Incredible history, clean, and a really fun space with all the old photos and cool chandeliers. Standing room or a few boxes. Clean bathrooms. Coat check available. And I really like their tradition of handing out show posters to everyone as they leave! Going to frame mine. However I deducted one star for the following: I don’t know if it was the band’s mixer or the venue, but the sound mixing was really awful and so bass heavy you couldn’t hear vocals over them. This was even for the main act. Also note that the only entrance is a narrow set of steep stairs with no signage if there is an ADA entrance (unsure if it exists). So getting out is slow because it’s only one small exit and also it was difficult getting up and down that many stairs for me with hip issues.
Really enjoy seeing shows at The Fillmore. Great view from any place in the house, up or downstairs. Go early if you want to sit at a table and chairs upstairs. You can feel the music history thru all the iconic posters on the wall. But the chill room in the back is a hidden gem if you need a different scene in between shows.
Its The Fillmore, what else is there to say?!Every concert Ive been to here was great. The view from the balcony seats are great, but its very hard to get a seat there. So either show up early or hope to get lucky. The small restaurant on the second floor has food during the concert in case you didnt have time to eat elsewhere, but consider eating in nearby Japantown! So many good restaurants a short walk away.
Great venue! The staff was all very kind and it was an amazing place to watch artists you love perform. Not a huge venue and feels very intimate.
Iconic venue I finally experienced. Never have I ever been somewhere that EVERY teammate was so kind, helpful and genuine. Absolutely appeared as everyone loved their jobs. Refreshing feeling!
Love the space and all the amazing bands and performers that come through. So many good shows here. The sound system is very old and could use an upgrade.
Staff is rude as hell. Poorly managed lines and merch sections. Sound was unbalanced and too loud and crackly. Absolutely will never see another artist here. Unsafe area too.I cannot stress enough how poorlymanaged they are and it affects the concert experience because they cant properly house the amount of people or handle the lines for anything correctly. The merch line completely blocked the view of the stage and people kept pushing even though it was a smaller artist. No security to control it.The staff were not helpful at all if you had any questions and wouldnt even try to be polite. There was nowhere to sit unless you want to pay extra for reserved seats (even though the concert was half over and no one had been sitting there, I wasnt allowed to sit).I purchased one beer and one water for TWENTY DOLLARS. Bartender was so incredibly condescending because I didnt have a wristband. NO ONE HAD BEEN OFFERING THEM! I will not be coming back and neither should you. Its a shame that such a prime venue when its this poorly run and by rude people at that.
What a great venue! Intimate in comparison to your typical arena, every place seems close to the stage. The bar is available all night long with servers out on the floor to take your order. As if that werent enough, the history, here, just adds to the overall atmosphere; everyone whos anyone had played this venue. Its like the ghosts of people like Janice Joplin and Jimi Hendrix are still there hangin out with the crowd.Come early. Park in the lot at Eddy and Fillmore, so you dont have to bug out until 2am. Get in line before doors open, and enjoy your show!
I attended a concert at this venue on Sunday. The food was good, and the architecture is beautiful. However, when it was time to get my belongings from coat check I had limited edition items missing. And the woman handling the coat check did not assume responsibility or apologized even though she was the only one there. I will never trust their coach check, and neither should you. Not trustworthy and thats a actually very sad to say.
Awesome spot for concert enthusiasts. They have a ton of posters on their walls of different artists that have presented/played there. Pretty decent drinks menu and okay food menu as well and staff and service is quick and friendly. Their courtesy in guiding people to right direction on where to sit can use some sprucing up but overall they arent super rude , just slightly unreasonable. Still makes for a great experience, go checkout your favorite bands in town.
Absolutely gorgeous theatre. The concert was sold out but the room wasnt overcrowded and/or unsafe. The staff is awesome and took care of me when I had a fainting spell.
Pretty good place to see shows. The Fillmore has a long and spectacular history and used to have a very strong sense of community and camaraderie by supporting local artists to make poster art for every show, giving away some of the posters fro free, and giving away free apples. But now The Fillmore is a soulless, for-maximum-profit venue like all other LIVE NATION venues. They advertise a ticket price of say $39 which is already fairly expensive, but you will never be able to pay that amount for your ticket. There is a $11+ fee for each ticket, and a $3 processing fee for purchasing online. I tried going to the box office but they were closed. Their hours were not posted on the box office but on Google they said 10am-6pm. I arrived at 5pm. Box office was closed. So I had to order tickets online and pay all the fees. Announced ticket price $39; Online ticket price $58; Actual cost per ticket $69.90. The Fillmore has no soul. Live Nation is not about music, they are about gouging fans and monopolizing live music venues for their own profit. Selling tickets to their shows is the only way most indie bands can make a living. Meanwhile Live Nation feeds off the bands and sucks up the profits.
Nice intimate venue. Standing mostly. Great staff! “Safe” area. Close to Japantown SF & great food. Would go again but would prob try to snag a balcony seat next time.
Great historic venues. Home of many iconic shows. The architecture is great. Multiple bars inside (upstairs and downstairs). Sound is great. Can be a bit crowded upstairs. They serve food here. Theres also apples. And free show posters as you leave (most of the time).
First time at the Fillmore. I went to a charity show at this venue. The main thing that was disappointing was the sound system. When speaking or the artist were singing it was difficult to understand anything. I liked the available beers for sale, standing for 3.5 hours was not ideal, but the bathroom was ok. The best part of the Fillmore is the art on all the walls from upstairs to the main entrance. The worst part is that the building feels and smells like there has not been a deep cleaning in a very long time. Probably my last time to go there....
We saw a DJ set last night and our friends were turned away at the door because it was “sold out” but when we got inside it was the most empty I’ve Ever seen a concert venue, they could’ve doubled or tripled the ticket sale volume. Also, the show listed a start time of 11, but there was no opener, the performer came on at 12:15pm, and there was no lights or production value. The concert started frustratingly late, and it was annoying to have people turned away when there was ample space
Everyone needs to go see a show at the Fillmore. Robin Trower was my first concert ever back in 1979 at the Berkeley Community Theater and hes still as amazing as ever. Ive been to The Fillmore countless times and its always a treat to just be there. Its an awesome venue in general but its also a living museum with an incredible history. Dont miss the upstairs with all of the posters and photos.
Very nice venue, went there for a concert. Performer was great, sound was great. We purchased some food before the performance that was decently priced. No complaints about the taste either other than being a tad cold.Issue was with the wait staff. Cashier / waitress was extremely rude. Something went wrong with the payment device and we were blamed for it and got yelled at. All that had to be done was to rerun the transaction - took only a couple of minutes more and there was no need for unpleasantness. When the food was finally ready, cashier/waitress was again very rude when handing food over to us. She was quite nice to the other guests - not sure if its due to the earlier payment machine issues, or due to how we look or where we were from. Will likely go back to the venue, but going to try to limit interactions with their wait staff whenever possible. The security and ticket handling teams were courteous, helpful and quick. Just the wait staff gave us a tough time.
Get in line early to make the show on tome. Legendary music venue that should be in every music fab’s bucket list. Don’t miss the poster gallery upstairs.
This was our first time at the Fillmore, and we will definitely be back. Such a great atmosphere. I love how small the venue is. There was a belligerent guy and his girlfriend that were causing trouble in front of us, but security took care of it right away! 😊
This place is a classic venue with a very long history. The stage is large, with a row of upper box suites. Fantastic sound system. Nice bar. Plenty of restrooms, no waiting. I hadnt been back for decades and forgot how it looked. I loved it. I think you can feel the history.

What can I tell you about the Fillmore you don’t already know? One of the top venues of its size, comparable to only First Avenue and the 9:30 imo. Great place for a night of music, don’t forget to go upstairs and enjoy the poster lounge and reminisce about all the great shows that have occurred there. Bands always get up for the Fillmore
Great venue with some very cool history features. With tickets being electronic, it was quite a wait to get inside the building. I didnt purchase any drinks so not sure how the bar staff was.
A legendary venue - everyone deserves to see their favorite band here at least once. If you can, get in early and search for your favorite bands poster on the walls
This is a great concert venue with a lot of cool history. Fun to check out all the show posters from long ago. Obviously theres a main floor by the stage but a big balcony with tables and a bar that over looks the stage and main floor. Also another room upstairs with a bar and tables for just eating and chilling. Food is really decent.
Love the poster they hand out after the show, very slow exit because of it though. Restrooms were a bit worn and need an update.
Incredible. Went to a concert. I was so impressed by the venue. It serves food upstairs in a beautiful space filled with posters. The venue is small but large for San Francisco. Very friendly staff. I will come back here just to be in this space.
The staff here are the nicest people I have ever encountered at a concert venue. Im disabled and it always feels like its such a bother for staff to assist me with lifts and other accommodations, but the people at the Fillmorev are fantastic! Everyone was so nice and helpful! Special shout out to Dante who literally made the event so much smoother with his assistance. You are awesome, Dante! Thank you!!
I had the honour in 1998, to be grooming the Steve Miller Band at the Fillmore for a three day video shoot. What an education and experience! The apples at the front door, sitting in the green room, hearing all these amazing stories. The sound is amazing and I had the time of my life, even though I was working. Legendary. 💜🤟🏻😎
Really cool historic venue! Offers food and drink options, cool sitting areas, and a spacious general standing area! Security was quick and not as much of a hassle as some venues Ive been to. Be sure to look for the commemorative posters at the exits if you go for a live act!
Two layers to this;Safety protocols - they take them seriously enough to surpass normal theatrical levels, arrive early and prepared to fulfill the reqs.Venue - the history doesnt manage to distract from the show happening that night, which is amazing give how much of it there is and how well represented it is. Sound is great regardless of your location, views of the stage are better than average for older venues, and the facilities seem like theyre actually maintained. I saw food that looked like good enough I considered setting aside my long standing dont eat venue food at punk shows rule. Staff was friendly and seemed engaged in making sure folks had a good time.I have spent my share of time at shows in San Francisco, I hope the Fillmore hosts more shows I want to see!
Classic historical music hall that has hosted many of the most famous artists from the latter 20th century. Full bars, and an upper gallery with the famous Fillmore posters from shoes of yore. They still design posters for (most?) shows, and will give one to you on the way out.As with all likely-loud concert venues, earplugs are recommended.
Great venue. Stage is nicely raised so you can get a good view from the back. Free poster at the end of the show.
Absolutely awesome venue amazing stage. Awesome, sounds cant wait to see another artist there place is immaculate, and the snacks arent bad to
Hard to beat this venue on multiple fronts. Easy entry. Can move around the place well even when packed. Multiple bars with the most friendly bartenders. The upstairs rooms that include food service. Storied, hallowed. Not a bad spot in the place. This is a premier venue.
They were so controlling over where I sit and stand. Idk what’s up with their policies but I didn’t feel comfortable being there.
This place has become the worst place to see a show. Little 12 year Olds seem to be running it
Cool venue, but every time Ive been here the staff has been really mean and rude for no reason. Once my girlfriend was having horrible period cramps and the staff accused her of being drunk (we were sober) and kicked us out of the show. Another time, I was with a friend in a leg brace and we sat at a table. When the show got going, the acoustics were set up so that the area by our table was much louder than elsewhere (both our ears were hurting) and staff refuses to let us move to another table, though many were open. Their only solution was to sell us earplugs. The staff in general is pretty rude and unhelpful. I will not go to another show at the Fillmore after giving it several opportunities only to have them all ruined by lousy service and rude staff.
Overall, I like the Fillmore. Its cool to see all the posters from previous years. It was extremely cold in the venue. When I was going in, the security staff grabbed my purse and tried to open it. When I told her she wasnt allowed to do that, but I would open it for her (my friend works security at another place and he has told me over and over no one can open your bag and touch your stuff). She got angry with me and just pushed me through. This is also the first venue in a long long time that has not only wanded me, but also patted me down.
Classic venue, short walk to the best of Japantown.
Really awesome venue. The stage is high enough so that people are able to see the artist/band playing. It has plenty of space. Drinks are average price for a concert venue.
I work in the Live entertainment business so this was a great opportunity. Worked the show! Got to seeMetric! And their opening band was as amazing! My apologies to the opening band. The Fillmore is steeped in musical history and a must see for musicians and music lovers alike.
I cannot praise the Fillmore enough. I saw Metric there on Friday and the staff were super helpful. The sound was amazing. I needed to use a wheelchair, I have a typical push/transport chair. The elevator only has room for one but everything went smoothly.
Historically, and very much still, the best!Feb 22 UpdateBeen to a bunch more shows and this place still rules!Would be nice if there was just a touch of seating that could be reserved. But that is the only possible area that I can think about to make an even better experience at The Fillmore. I will keep seeking out shows here, and will be happy to stand, and dance, through each great show!
This place is steeped in history. The posters on the walls are incredible. Apparently they have local artists playing in the upstairs prayer room before the main shows. Great venue with friendly staff. I saw Ingrid Michelson here and even though the place was packed it was still comfortable and not impossible to get to the restroom/bar. Still have not tried the food but they have solid cocktails and draft beer.
What a gorgeous venue! The adventure of wandering through the rooms, finding unique, exquisite snapshots of music history - actual photos as well as the one-of-a- kind concert posters -- is magical. The sound of the music itself is intense and rich from every room and corner of the venue. When I went recently I saw Poor Mans Whiskey (along with friends like and Maddie Carpenter and Alison Harris) and Sam Chase and the Untraditional). It was a fantastic show. The music and atmosphere created at this incomparable venue create visceral memories.
Its a cool venue. Old building. Big bar/restaurant area up stairs. Abysmal bathroom situation. Not sure why they dont turn off the studio lighting at the bar downstairs while shows are going on, theyre very distracting.
Its a cool place. Good food. I had fun the first time I went, but the second time, I learned people smoke inside and thats something I really cant stand. The smell literally will make me sick. Not sure if I will go back.
Super fun venue - decent beer selection, cool decor, great bands. What more could you ask for?!Ive seen a handful of shows here and have always been pleased with not having a huge wait to get in or the usual cluster that can come with some concerts. My most memorable experience was Capital Cities which was such a great show and they even did an additional DJ set immediately after the finished. It was such a great time and the venue provided lots of space to be able to dance and enjoy yourself!
A mainstay rock n roll institution! Even if youre not crazy about whos playing its worth going just for the posters and photography on the walls! And all the great HAVE played there. Truly a treasure trove of history. The staff is great, friendly and helpful 😎
