What a dilapidated, filthy, rundown dump. Bathrooms smelled of urine and mildew. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like. Premier bar hahahaha compared to what? Bartender was friendly and that’s the ONLY positive thing. Parking lot and entrance littered with trash and bottles and weeds. What a sad representation of a gay bar. Having operated many businesses I was appalled that the city allows this bar to stay open. No reply from owner required. There is absolutely no excuse for any of the deplorable conditions in this establishment! Pictures are very misleading
My friend and I came from out of town and went there last night. Super cool experience - the staff of bartenders, doorman, dancers, etc… everyone was very welcoming and added greatly to the atmosphere. Special thanks to Christina for making her rounds and making sure we were having a good time!
I wasnt expecting much when I went for the first time. Not the most aesthetically appealing place Ive been, but I had a great time. My drinks were strong and music was great. The dancers are a welcome plus. The manager is super friendly and staff was pleasant. Ive gone back on a few occasions and always have a great time.
I had a bad experience with a show there...GNO and originally wrote a bad review. I spoke with the owner Hunter who explained it was and issue with Girls Night Out and not a reflection of Oasis.Other than parking l love the bar and the atmosphere.
Slowly became a regular over time, friendly staff, very fun and happy bar, good music, bartenders that are fantastic at their job, but most importantly... the staff members are very caring and prompt about searching for a card. I lost a card here and they immediately banded all the bartenders to search for it. Yes it was found, and thank you Oasis for being so attentive and above and beyond for your customers! 💜
The place is obviously long shut down. I dont know why this is still showing on Google.I circled from 6 to 7pm Friday night and the place is dark and deserted inside. It seems the only gay bars left are in St Pete or other distance cities. Sarasota and Bradenton has become depressing for a single gay guy looking to make friends.
Been there 3 times. Bathrooms are disgustingly dirty. The bar allows smoking so youll smell like an ashtray when you leave. The bottle beer selection is limited to Bud, coors and miller beer. The dancers are usually pretty good. They even have a women in the mix, which is great. Bartender was busy chatting with friends. Not great service, not horrible, just ok.Certianly not the worse gay bar, but its more of a bar ,not a club. The bar next to a straight bar and there are lots of other bars within walking distance. They do have a security guard in uniform which probably keeps the straights from bothering with the place.
Checked it out over Memorial Day weekend. Not sure I would refer to it as the Premier venue. The bartender was pretty nasty as he was more interested in getting back to playing pool. Dont know his name and did not care to ask. Cigarette smoke is pretty thick so they could use some ventilation/fans to help clear it out. Might check it out again or bypass it and head to Tampa. Did not bother to stay for the dancers
If I could give 0 stars I would. I’m on vacation with a group of friends and this is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a club. The music was awful, I felt like I was at a YMCA dance. On top of that the service was terrible and so slow. My friend was kicked out for “getting on the stage” when the dancers were bringing people on the stage all night…..felt very uncomfortable here. This is not a safe space for queer people, please go elsewhere.
This place is so dirty, music off a playlist. This place is a glorified parents basement set up. Doesnt look like anyone has a sence of how to run a club, orr even a bar.Smells awful and the aka owner/ manager is obnoxious. If you want to catch something a Dr visit requires this is your place. DONT GO HERE!!!
Walked in the door and a lady was sitting just inside with a note pad on her lap. I thought she must be a door attendant. She just stared at me with a blank face so I said hello, again silence so I walked past her to the bar and sat down at the end of the bar where the bartender was. He looked at me and immediately turned and walked to another customer and had a short social conversation. Then he came back so I placed a twenty dollar bill on the bar. He looked at me and the cash, turned around poured a beer and brought another customer where he stood and had another social conversation. Again he returned to my end of the bar. He looked right at me only 4 feet away and as I was starting to ask for a beer he abruptly turned and continued more conversation with others! Not a friendly or welcoming place. I picked up my $20 and walked out. Do not recommend Oasis.
I attempted to order three different mixed drinks before the bartender could finally find all the ingredients to make one. Everything was run down and dilapidated. We couldnt order food because the cook never showed up. That was probably a blessing in disguise. If this is Sarasotas Premier LGBT Venue then its a really sad commentary on the state of Sarasotas gay commnunity.
I think Oasis is a great lgbt location and will continue to grow into a very popular bar. I personally enjoy dive bars instead of clubs. I would place oasis into the bar category although there is a dance floor and music. The staff are very friendly and I enjoy the LGBT inclusiveness. Everyone should feel welcome at Oasis.
I wanted this place to succeed I really did, but its fairly evident now that its not going to survive in the long run. Its been open 9 months, it has everything going for it, including the distinction of being one of the last gay bars between tampa and the everglades, and yet despite having a virtual monopoly, no competition, great location, good sized space, and a free liqour license for christ sakes.... the manager neither has the vision, the knowledge nor the professional temperment to ever make the place truely successful. I saddly think it partly has to do with the fact the manager is straight and really no straight guy could ever really understand WHY a gay bar exists in the first place and what true significance they carry. I mean case in point any gay bar worth their salt should be packed solid by 11pm on new years eve... they were barely 1/3 full, while the surrounding bars were packed... that says volumes on their failure to promote themselves. Which is sad because beside Oasis there is only one other gay bar left over the 100 mile stretch of I75 south of tampa and thats rascals in fort myers which is an excellent true to heart gay bar. I will say perhaps a more seasoned well thought out manager will swoop in and save the place from itself before the bars actual owner grows tired of the dwindeling revenues and undelivered promises... but That didnt happen for all the other failed bars and I doubt that will happen here. I would say go and support it if only to try and save some shred of gay culture in sarasota bradenton... like visiting the endangered species section of the zoo. I hope but dont hold breath, but should it improve ill gladly erase this review.
What time are your hours ? We arrived at 6:30pm Sunday and no one was there. Doors were locked although online says that your open. Also looked through windows and seen empty beer bottles lying around and disarray of the establishment.
This club has it all ! We had an amazing time there. my husband and I were passing by when we saw a young man actually hanging upside down on the ceiling! From that moment on we knew where wed be spending our days off. Highly recommend!!
Extremely nice bar, with fantastic bartenders. Lively atmosphere and well made drinks anytime I come here especially by Tom. No judgements and always open minded. Highly recommend this bar for anyone.
1 barrender chargee $10 for a drink another charge me $12 for the same drink am a bit confused.. slow service need more dancers, however to the 2 that was there made me had so much fun.,but I think security is lacking
Do not waste your time. It is filthy and the bathrooms were disgustingly, dirty and the smell was was horrible. The only good thing I can say, the staff was friendly.
Brittany and Sam made me feel welcome from the minute I walked in.Drinks are reasonably priced. A very safe and comfortable place to visit.Again, Sam was AWESOME!!!
I was told I could wear a jock by the owners. The bouncer went out of his way to humiliate me. Went home. Never going back, not a safe place.
Fun small bar. Mix of male and female go-go dancers. Very diverse crowd, young and old. Check it out! I had a great time :)
Walk in to bar 2 people siting at the bar .No bartender at the bar.Walk into other room no one there . Walked to front bar to get a drink .No bartender at the bar . We are on vacation .Will the owner explain this to me.
Food was amazing! Atmosphere was great, but wish there was a dance floor.
