Massage Envy

I really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. Ive only been going there for three months and Im over it. Its been one problem after another whether it be shorting me on my service in the following areas of QUALITY (not given massage portion of facial), and TIME (I was given 40 min massage instead of 50 minutes) -you pay for 60 but in the contract it states 50 minutes of hands on.Within the 3 months I have had them cancel services last minute as well as lose my appointment in the system. Its supposed to be relaxing and one does this for self-care but my stress level has gone up since signing up. Its not worth it at least at my location which was Power and McKellips.

Second time at this location and both times the physical appearance of the location inside is clean and open and calm. The massage therapists were pleasant and asked questions. Its those extra things, the exfoliating hand cream the oils and lotions on your back and stuff that gets you thats expensive, and its not worth it. Just a good old-fashioned massage was the way to go..

I’ve gotten two masses this week hereThey’ll start 10 minutes late & finish ten minutes early. One of the guys named Victor was 7 minutes late to my appointment then laughed it off like it was no big deal , but I’m paying for a service & my body is aching all over it’s not funny. Then I got into the room & they didn’t have the propper bedding down on the table which then took longer to have the bed prepped for the massage & by that point it was like 11:12 I got onto the massage table without saying a word Victor kept asking me if I was having a bad day.Like no Victor it was alright until you laughed about you being late to your job, I’m just trying to get what I paid for & my full time without being questioned why I’m not being talkative because you’ve already made me feel uncomfortable. Please do your job quietly so I can enjoy my services in peace. Especially if you’re just being a doche bag.

I used to like this location despite the Arcadia office being much closer. I was at Scottsdale recently and the smell in the lobby and tranquility room gave me a headache! They purchased heavy duty air freshener plug ins. SMELLS awful. Like a heavy mans cologne...just gross! Also, under that heavy patchouli scent was onions. Maybe limit meals to the break room would help. I suggest you remove the plug ins and try a deep cleaning service.

I have been a member of Massage Envy for over 10 years. I have never walked into a massage appointment to be told it was canceled. I had made the appointment weeks ago to find out they say they called me at 10am this morning. I had no missed call and no voicemail. I have had many cancellations before due to a therapist calling out last minute. I have had voicemails and emails and texts. This specific location didn’t text or email or call. They may have misdialed but the front desk girl couldn’t even admit a wrong number may have been dialed or tried calling again. Or emailing or text. I received an email saying my appointment was canceled AFTER I walked in. This as a location makes no sense. Emailing you your appointment is canceled when they supposedly canceled it in the morning while you are standing there for your appointment makes NO sense. I have a tight schedule and made my appointment in advance. I wasted time, gas and money as a client of mine asked for an appointment with me this afternoon but I said I had an appointment already for my massage. The front desk girl had the audacity to laugh as I walked out and couldn’t admit I wasn’t called. I offered to show her my phone. She kept saying I was called. As a Massage Envy client for over a decade to be treated like this was nothing but unprofessional and rude. Keep calling the client so they don’t waste their precious time. Totally inexcusable.

The store manager, Ben was truly amazing! His customer service is top-tier and he definitely went out of his way. When I had a question to make sure he could give me a solid answer. He took initiative and made everything easy step-by-step. Thank you, Ben.

Unfortunate Customer Service ExperienceI am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the customer service I received. Having been a member for a year, with a lapse of 7 months, I sought to freeze my membership. However, I was informed that it was impossible to apply this to past months, despite my account showing 7 unused sessions.I made three separate requests to terminate my membership before finally receiving the necessary form. I also asked to transfer one of my remaining sessions to my son, with an additional $10 per their rules. This request was denied on the grounds that I had opted to cancel my membership.To add, even though I had requested to terminate my membership, they proceeded to charge me an additional $75, citing a 10-day processing period. I implore anyone considering their services to explore other options, as you may find superior service, more consideration, and more cost-effective alternatives elsewhere.When I questioned their rationale behind these practices, they insisted that all this was clarified upon my initial sign-up. However, the only information I recall being highlighted was a warning that membership rates would increase if I didnt join immediately.I hope that this feedback helps others make more informed decisions when choosing a service provider.

I love Massage Envy! It puts you at ease right away when you walk in, and the relaxation room where you wait is extremely enjoyable! Just the quiet, relaxing atmosphere gets you in the mindset to let everything else drop away and just breathe.Ive had several massages from this location, but I absolutely LOVED my 2 hour massage with Keith!! I have chronic pain and he was able to relax all my sore spots! Hes got magic hands! I left feeling like I was floating and was able to enjoy the rest of the day in less pain!!Thank you Keith, youre awesome!!!

Havent gotten a massage in way too long. Stopped in at the Scottsdale facility and after 90 minutes with Randi I feel great and thanks to her my vacation is going awesome! I was worried about long walks and the pain and stiffness Id been experiencing. That is all better now.Thank you.

Even death isn’t considered a qualifying condition to end a massage envy membership prematurely. If you’re going to commit to a contract, at least do it somewhere higher quality than the dollar store of spas. However, if you find non-stop upselling throughout your entire treatment relaxing, this is for sure the place for you!

Dalia really helped ease the tension in my shoulders. A lot of the time Ill tell massage therapist where my problem spot it is and where to focus on and they simply dont focus on that area but Dalia and Karen previously have both been super great about that. They also have been super good about making sure Im comfortable with the area and pressure, especially Karen. Ill def be coming back for both of them in the future. Oh and if Dalia sees this- I CANT WAIT for my Hot stone massage 😮‍💨 Ive been waiting over a year and a half and now that I know youre a super good massage therapist I cant wait. Thank you!Oh and the only reason I said 4 instead of 5 is because massage envy always cancels my appointments the day of or the day before. If youre going to cancel my appointment, please make sure you at least check other options for me before calling. Most of the time idc who massages me I just want it done especially when Ive been waiting a week or more. Okay Im done now thank you lol

Always have had a good experience. Been going here for years. My masseuse Desi did an excellent job. She definitely knows what shes doing. I have a injured shoulder and its getting better. She asked me periodically if I was still good with the pressure and if I was comfortable. Definitely I will go back to her.

I have been a member at massage envy for over a year. I first came to this location about a month ago where I decided I would not be returning because of the experience I had. The next day the owner reached out to me and asked to bring me in for a follow up facial so that I could have a better experience. I went in today and absolutely loved my experience. I wanted a new skincare routine and Jeannie was able to recommend a variety of products that I am so excited to use. While I originally planned on going to a different location I am very excited to return in a few weeks.

Sergio was not good at all. He applied too much pressure and when asked to not use so much pressure, he pretty much just rubbed the area. Then obviously he forgot about not too much pressure when he moved to a different area and applied too much pressure again. He pressed on my back so hard that I lost my breath a couple of times. Again I asked him to ease up and he just rubbed the area again. I was so glad when it was over. He left me bruised. There was definitely no tip for him. Plus the front office staff were so impersonal, I felt as if they didnt care about you at all, just your money. I will never use massage envy again, because of bad experiences with Scottsdale Seville charging me for services that I did not use. Gilbert and Chandler were good though, but thats not enough to use any of their services again.

We were not overly impressed with this Massage Envy. Although the older lady receptionist was very nice, it took nearly 25 minutes on the phone to book 3 of us for same morning massages. On arrival, the ladies were accommodating and lounge was comfortable. We booked 2 of us for deep tissue massages requiring the most experienced person in sports injuries with a good knowledge of the body. She assured me we were getting the best person, but the male therapist lacked these skills. My husband and I both needed back and shoulder work. We both got the same, one dimensional message. All he did was rub up and down our spines the exact same way the entire 40 minutes and then ended with a bit of neck work. Any good masseuse will maneuver other parts of the shoulder blades, move your arms overhead and drape down, and try to get in other areas of the back. He only massaged up and down the sides of the spine over and over and over again. It was redundant and annoying. When he was done the neck he said it was over which was kind of abrupt with no stretch or rub of the arms down from shoulders or anything. If he is their best for deep tissue/sports massage/injuries, he’s not great, definitely nothing special and would not return unless they get someone more experienced. Number of years don’t equal good in this case.

I’ve had many massages, Victor is the first person to actually give me deep tissue relief after one session! Great technique and listening skills. Highly recommend Victor for anyone who has upper back and neck tension.

To be honest I didn’t have a great experience with Karen. She didn’t wait for me when I got out the room twice already (I had a massage with her before) but I saw her walk her client before me out. I had money to give her when we were done but didn’t see her after my massage at all lol. She just said we’re done and walked out. but I ended up giving it to the front desk to give her She doesn’t seem to like me or something. I also told her I needed my lower back worked on since I had a baby but she didn’t focus on it at all and I told her I needed my calves as well and she didn’t focus on them either. But besides that I also got a facial with Homna the same day and she was great. Very friendly.

While visiting Scottsdale, I woke up with a sore neck. I was able to make a same day appointment. Sergio was amazing and gave me tips for stretching. The facility was clean, the staff was welcoming. Overall, great experience!

Stay away from the Massage Envy on Scottsdale and Thomas Road. Very unprofessional business from the front desk, and the massage workers. We held a membership with them for 3 years and sorry that it took this long to realize that we had enough of the poor service, poor quality massages and constant workers calling in at the very last minute that they weren’t coming to work or quit. They had no alternative people to accommodate their members for. I think they have a poor customer service when it comes to their members they treat the Walk ins better than their members. They can’t keep staff, people are leaving . I had a lady at the front desk thinking that she was funny telling me that I am a high maintenance customer. I gave this place a lot of business and a lot of my money and this is what we got and return we canceled our membership today and will never recommend this place again

Victor and Dan are amazing therapist! Great technique, flow and time management. Victor was amazing with getting all the pressure points and knots out while also relaxing and putting me to sleep. Dans amazing at getting knots out of places i never knew I had, I could literally feel them rolling off my body. Front desk was very kind and helpful with product and making checking out very easy. I saw Karen at the Scottsdale/Thomas location. I haven’t had a massage in at least 4 years. I was very tight in the neck and upper back area so I wanted firm to deep pressure. Karen asked questions and focused on the areas we discussed. She was very professional and strong! 💪🏼 It was exactly what I needed! Thank you!

The front desk ladies were friendly and professional. The massage therapist listened whenever I asked to put more pressure or less. She did forget to massage my right arm. But she was friendly and I felt safe with her.

I have been a member at Massage Envy for over 10 years and Wilson is one of the best therapist I have ever seen! He was professional, kind, knows his stuff! Went home feeling like I had new legs! Front desk staff was courteous and quick!

Victor is not only considerate of the comfort of the client through exceptional bedside manner, but also is knowledgeable as a masseuse. He is an amazing conversationalist, and I cant wait for my next appointment. Thank you again.

Absolute worst experience. I’m not the person to write reviews but this is was such a terrible service that it deserves one. I got to massage envy 20 minutes prior to my facial appointment which was set for 3pm. They took me to the “relaxation room” and I was there until 3:12. The esthetician (Homa) didn’t get started until 3:15 or so. The facial was completed at 3:49. It was literally 34 minutes and I paid 65 dollars. When I told them about it they just said that it was 15 minutes hands on and the rest is talking about skin care! I’d understand if the facial lasted 50-55 minutes but it took 34 minutes! Worst service. I saw other bad reviews about this place but I didn’t believe it. I’m currently outside of massage envy writing this review. Worst experience!

I’ve been a member for some years now and use M.E. services pretty regularly, I’m also not from AZ and have never gone to a Massage Envy in this state, so while I was in town for a wedding I decided to schedule a massage and facial. My facial was great and Jeanie( I hope I got that right) did a wonderful job and always made sure things were comfortable for me.As for my massage, well this is where things get beyond good. DAHLIA DAHLIA DAHLIA! Her massage haunts me in that I don’t think I could get another massage from anyone again! I know that sounds a bit extreme, but it was the best I’ve had for years. She was very nice and stayed away from my feet ( I am somewhat ticklish in the feet area), and she read my back like she knew my back better than my back knows itself - I must repeat this was the first time at this massage envy. I did voice my back and shoulders were the main focus, but it’s hard to point to the exact place on your back and shoulders where you’re feeling the tightness yet Dahlia got to every spot I was feeling and then some. Her pressure was just right and she made sure it was by asking. It was like a dream. She is phenomenal!At the end she offered me water and we parted ways. I recommend Dahlia to anyone and everyone. When my wife and I come back to Arizona we will definitely seek out this Massage Envy.Honorable mention to the lovely young lady working the front desk. She was very comforting to my wife and I, greeted us with a warm smile and really took care of us throughout our time there. I forget her name, but she voiced that it was her first day( or that she was new) and it could have fooled me because of how great a job she did.4+ years of membership and I hit the jackpot of all Massage Envy’s.

Sergio, my Masseuse was very professional and he did such a great job ! I felt like a new person when I left. The front desk staff was friendly and also, knowledgeable about specials and products, I started a 6 month membership with ease!

I needed pain relief and Karen delivered. I truly appreciated that she allowed me to relax quietly. However, the people next to our room (Room 2) was talking and laughing so loud. I wish the therapist would encourage soft conversations if they truly need to talk.Last night, I slept early and woke up very refreshed this morning. Thank you, Karen! You are awesome!(This would have been an easy 5 stars if it wasn’t for the very loud next door)

Appointment was at 11am for a deep tissue massage and the massage gun. Was told to text upon arrival. Waited roughly 10 mins. After finally getting inside they couldnt find my appointment info. Had to refill out the information. Its now 1120am. I didnt get the full gun treatment. The lady (Karen) walked out to check on something session. The session lasted for 15 mins roughly. Paid for 30. The massage was good. I wanted a little more of a deeper tissue massage but was more in the lighter end. Neck and back are still sore and Ill most like be going elsewhere in a few days to seek better service.

We have been coming to this massage envy for over two years. it had to of changed management or owners because it has really gone downhill ! Every time we came there were new faces because people are quitting people not coming into work and very rude lady when you first walk into the spa. I have placed several complaints with Alyssa regarding how horrible the services are and it seems like nothing has been done employees continue to walk out of here. My husband had an appointment scheduled we were on our way and they called to let us know that his person called off and they had no openings for him for a massage try another massage envy don’t come to the one here on Scottsdale and Thomas Road I can’t imagine the other Massage Envy’s as horrible as this location and I gave them every chance to make it up

Sergio did an amazing job working out the extreme tension in my upper back. He was extremely professional and polite and listened to my needs. I would highly recommend booking Sergio for your massage needs!

The staff greeting us all were very kind. The massage was good but not great. The issue was my Massage therapist was coughing throughout the whole 90 minute massage which made it really unpleasant. At one point she had to leave the room.

I booked a 90 minute deep tissue massage. I filled out the paperwork when I got there. I spoke with the therapist about what I needed and didn’t even get close to what I expected. She spent 75% of the time on my back and neck with only perfunctory attention paid to my arms and legs which needed it. I was surprised when she told me it was done and according to my watch we had been in there under 75 minutes. I know it’s not expected to be a full 90 but it should be closer than 75. I tipped out of pity. I come to AZ for business often and will avoid this therapist at the very least and will likely seek another facility.

Jeremy is awesome!!! Aside from the relaxing massage he went out of his way to listen to my neck and back issues and I told him what I did for work and he even showed me something he caught off Amazon that really helped with his same issues and I highly recommend Jeremy! Will definitely be returning

Went for a 60 minute back facial with Huma. After 30 minutes she said we were done. She didn’t do any mask or serums. I was extremely confused and when the front desk asked what happened she said there wasn’t that much acne so it didn’t take as long. Only charged me for 30 minutes of time but still not happy with the service. 2 stars because she did a good job cleansing and putting on lotion i guess

I’ve seen over 100 therapists in my life. I’ve worked at massage spas...the whole deal. SERGIO IS THE BEST therapist I’ve seen. He doesn’t try to have conversation when I’m trying to relax (thank you) and is so professional- I mean by the book draping etc. Not to mention, his massage is amazing. Best massage I’ve had both times I’ve seen him.

My first time here. Was seen on time and treated like a favourite customer from walking into the place until I left. My treatment was great and exactly what I asked for. I asked lots of questions and had them all answered. I will be back here and plan on making this my go to place for a relaxing massage. Thank you!

Wasnt quite as bad as it could have been, but it was pretty close. 90 minutes full body massage somehow skipped several areas (didnt touch my front torso, hands, face, hamstrings). Lots of long pauses, very disjointed feeling. Also cut massage short by 11 minutes and tried to charge me for full 90.

The staff was amazing the massage incredible. Cocell has magic hands. One concern was there was a person in the waiting room who removed his mask and I had to ask him to put it back on. There should be a large and prominent sign to help the masks on no matter where you are. Hopefully a sign in that room big enough to make the point. I almost walked out of the massage I was going to get.

I made an appointment by phone because the companys website was more frustrating to navigate. The front desk staff were professional, courteous and at the ready to sign in those with appointments. Communication seemed to be their strong point. I believe I have been matched well with a therapist who understands what I need to heal. The day of my appointment I saw no negative aspects of the business. I am returning.

My masseuse was not friendly and poor at communicating. She could use some people skills. During the massage i was looking forward to it being over. Ive had 3 massages with your company and this was my worst experience so far.

Sergio is amazing he knows my body and what it needs. Perfect every single time. Massage envy even works with you if you are in financial hardship and need a massage. Wont ever Go any where else. Massage Envy customer for life

I had a fabulous massage today! I called an hour before my appointment and thankfully they were able to get me in with little notice. No pushy sales pitch either which was super nice. Will return soon!

I have been a loyal customer to massage envy going on 2 years now. I recently moved to the area and had to switch locations. I was not happy with my facial for a second. My esthetician didn’t speak very good English and just the technique wasn’t really my style. As I tried to explain my allergies to her which should be on my profile as usual she didn’t really understand. I am used to them steaming my face to open pores prior to doing anything and that wasn’t offered. I usually feel very refreshed and clean once I am done but this was the first time that wasn’t the case. I will now make the 30 minute drive back to my old location.

It took a couple tries for me to get in for my massage due to a sudden cancelation the day of my massage(people call in, no big deal, though if I would have called with that little notice I would have been CHARGED regardless) as well as them not having any other openings for at least a week.I explained EVERY time I called and discussed the massage that I was being gifted a massage as my mother has their membership and was able to gift a massage. When I finally went in for the massage the older woman that was helping me explained the massage and their membership plans. I asked what info was needed of my mothers to ensure that everything was good to go before my massage. I gave her my mothers name as she said that was all that was needed and then continued to tell me more about the memberships.I went in for my massage (Nicholas I believe), left the tip for my massuse at the front desk, and asked if there was anything else they needed. The man at the front stared at me blankly and then asked me to pay. Confused, I explained that it should have been taken care of. The Sales Woman from before came out, asked me to spell my mothers name again, and then informed me that her account was suspended (apperantly on hold during lockdown and forgotten to be activated again). When I asked why this wasnt discovered earlier when I gave this information, let alone WEEKS PRIOR when making the first appointment, I was not given a response other than How will you be paying?Massage was great but it was not very professional having someone try to sell me on a membership when they did check what I asked them to in the first place. Communication was terrible. I would have paid for the massage regardless, but the fact that it was hidden until the last minute was hinky. I hear Elements has a similar membership and I bet they dont treat their clients this way.

Always a great experience. Front desk staff always cheerful and helpful. Place is immaculate. And Jeremy is best practitioner. Kinks in my neck, shoulders and back all gone for a few more weeks. Love this place.

I feel bad leaving a negative review, but unfortunately this was actually the worst massage I’ve ever had. What was supposed to be deep tissue was mostly gentle repeated stroking. Until suddenly the therapist started digging into my upper back repeatedly with very hard pressure. At first I thought, “great, we are finally getting somewhere”, but then it was just the same deep harsh movement over and over. Then back to the super light stuff everywhere else. I left with sore shoulders and feeling like no part of my body had actually been massaged. Their iPad system was not working, which meant we did not have music — I didn’t care other than it meant I could hear the therapist yawning the whole time. Towards the end they seemed to run out of ideas and kept asking me what else I wanted. Didn’t trust them to actually work on anything too sensitive like my neck, so just suggested they work more on my feet. Fortunately I got the first time discount, unfortunately it will also be the last time!

Jeannie gave me an awesome Microdermabrasion. She was very skilled, took her time and was very relaxing. My skin was glowing. I ended up getting a membership and am looking forward to getting facials every month. Personally I find facials more of a relaxing experience than a massage. Now that Im 45 I think it’s important to take extra special care of your skin as you age. You will notice a difference! I recommend booking a facial with Jeannie.

I have had a couple appts with Cat... she is moderate to firm pressure, and really goes after the problematic knots. I love this location because I dont have as hard of a time getting in, even thought its much further from my home. Will be booking again!

Homa was the most caring, thoughtful and calm individual I’ve ever come across during a service. Her observations and anticipation of my needs and or comfort was exceptional! She answered every question I asked professionally and intelligently. She made sure that I was comfortable several times during our 2 hours. Highly highly recommend! I feel bad leaving a 3 star review. It wasn’t a great massage. Does anyone love elbow massages? Maybe they do..? It was rough, and aggressive. I didn’t feel relaxed for even one minute. I have never had a massage like that.

Victor is outstanding he explained to me which areas of body were tight and he helped alleviate that tightness that I did not know I had. His professionalism is amazing and he listens to his clients I highly recommend him.. thank you Victor 😊😊

Been seeing DeAndre for a couple of months and he is so good at getting deep in the shoulders and getting out knots. He also gives super relaxing neck massages. He is definitely one of the best around. Super respectful and so easy to be comfortable around.

Went in for a last minute appointment for some neck pain. They were able to get me in with Karen and she did an amazing job. After the appointment the pain was barely noticeable!

Jeanie is the BEST! I can always count on her to provide a stress free environment and give the most relaxing facials! I always leave feeling 10x better than when I walked in. Highly recommend a 90 minute facial with Jeanie!!

This was my first massage. It was a great experience! Extremely relaxing. Dahlia was the provider I saw. She customized the massage to focus on the areas that needed it the most.

Visit today with Dan was very refreshing! The best therapy session in a long time, sore tired muscles needed it and appreciate thoroughness from beginning to end from all the staff.

It’s like a real life scene of out seinfield. They can say the take the reservation but then they don’t really take the reservation. We had reservations for 5pm then days before requested to have them both moved to 11am. They confirmed both were moved. Then when we showed up for the appointments they said they needed to move one of the 11am appointments back to 5pm. We couldn’t do that as we had rearranged our entire day for these. Because one of the appointments was for a guest and not a member we then had to wait for 30 minutes while they tried to figure out how to credit the $10.00 transfer fee. This is not the first time this has happened. Due to this we will no longer use his location for sessions. Once I have used all my sessions I’ll cancel the service. One thing I have learned is that I can get a massage at a spa with less stress. What’s the point of having this membership that is supposed to be used for relaxation if it only brings on stress? It’s a shame. The idea is nice but he follow through is non exsistent.

It was strange experience like no massage I have ever received. Afterwards while dressing the room did not feel clean. There was a fan with all kinds of dust stuck on the front.

Victor was one of the best therapists I have had. I will be back. Very thoughtful, listened to my ailments, and followed through with exactly what I asked for.

This was my first massage and Cat was patient and gentle. I was nervous at first, but she was so awesome and put me right at ease. I want to go back again and again!!

NOT SCOTTSDALE it was GOODYEAR, AZNOT Scottsdale, never been to that location!Just got the greatest massage then an Obagi facial & I’m floating out of here! Next time :30 Stretch :30 min Rapid Tension Release and hour massage like I did before and I was MASSAGE DRUNK!!!

It was just ok, therapist didn’t not focus on the areas (left shoulder blade/neck) like I asked. Back massage was just up and down my back with her forearm a few times.

Shoutouts to Eric, I basically told him to take his day out on me because my muscles were tense as heck. And boy did he deliver.I asked for him to stay quiet, and he obliged me. Thank goodness, I barely have anything to talk about anyways other than my sweet coffee setup at home.

Dan is absolutely the best masseuse I have ever seen. He takes time to analyze your problem areas and gets right to the source. He is professional, kind, and provides results.

Booked a deep tissue massage. Couldnt have been a more unpleasant experience. I cut the massage short. I will be dropping my membership based on this experience. Just awful.
