I warn anyone who is thinking about joining this organization. I and my fiancé have been so upset we signed a contract with them and we literally have only had one massage each and was a total unacceptable lack of professionalism. We’ve paid a total of $514 and the message therapist had no experience with massaging and also found out they lure you in with all these promotions but in little print when signing, it’s all a scam. If you want to throw money away, then this is the place. The worst business I have ever done in my 47 years.

I had accrued multiple free massages over the course of a few months, and Massage Envy randomly told me they all expired at the same time. This is literal theft, and you should do everything in your power to stay away from this company. There is a reason the reviews are nearly 100% 1 star reviews. DO NOT GET SCAMMED BY THIS COMPANY

Horrible company! I fulfilled my one year membership and cancelled it. They continually charge me. I have signed their cancellation contract and have a copy of it. Had to dispute it with my bank 3 months ago. Now this morning, I see two months of charges deducted from my bank account. Manager of the location I had my service at will not return calls and is oddly never in the facility when I stop in to discuss the matter.Their suggested gratuity amount is absurd. Pay your employees properly and stop putting that on the clients.I despise this company! Steer clear!

Their management dismissive and unresponsive and their cancellation process is a nightmare. I’ve had such difficulty working with them. Ironic how infuriating this company is when they’re purporting to offer wellness. Horrible experience.

August 4, 2023 I had a massage scheduled at 30985 Orchard Lake Farmington Hills, Michigan 48334 location and it was wonderful!!! The massage therapist I had was absolutely the BEST! Come to find out that was her first day. I told the receptionist that I want her down for my future massages. The receptionist said that her calendar wasnt available and that she would give me a call when it does. I received a call a week or so later advising her calendar was opened so we scheduled an appointment for September 8, 2023 at 9am. On September 8, 2023 I arrived at Massage Envy only to be told I did not have an appointment because it was cancelled. I said canceled by who??? I never canceled my appointment nor did I receive a phone call. This is totally unacceptable! I drove 40 minutes only to be turned away. I dont have time nor the gas to waste! The receptionist offered a facial which I declined. A facial is not acceptable.

The body work professionals are great. The receptionists are pleasant and helpful. My issue is that I cant quit my membership, in spite of THREE attempts! They are still charging my account. There is no email listed for the franchise location I visited, so I researched deep into the corporate site to find one. Hopefully Ill hear back from someone. Meanwhile, I have my bank stopping payment to this merchant AND Im sending a letter (old school much?!) to the location and to the corporate office. So disappointing. I wanted to like ME---the whole membership concept, the products, etc. Im giving it two stars because the massages were actually fantastic. The LMT I saw is the best in town.

Bought a bunch of gift cards for their cyber-monday promotion. I was supposed to receive bonus gift-cards back to myself. This advertisement was all over their website. After purchases I never got my bonus gift cards. When I reached out to support I was told that the promo was only valid for in-person bought gift cards, not online. They shared the fine print with me that apparently was noted when I bought. They had it hidden in fine print! When I asked for a refund so I could purchase in person I was told that there are no refunds on gift card purchase.Bad customer service all around here. Also deceiving business practices. Why would a company advertise a cyber-monday promotion all over their website and then hide the fact that the promotion is not available for online purchases.1/5 stars

The customer experience of this company could not be worse if you intended it to be. Sweet but incompetent front desk staff, non existent managers who create billing problems and then dont return your weekly call to try and resolve for over a month. Front desk staff will not disclose the managers schedules so even if you were willing to make an in-person appointment to resolve, that too, is impossible. My membership was being charged to SOMEONE ELSES CREDIT CARD for months... because the manager of the DTLA branch Abbey (no last name) entered it that way. She then must have realized her mistake and then froze my account and as soon as I came back in for another appointment the front desk person charged me four months at a time in order to unfreeze my account... which was confusing.Ive been contacting Abbey every week for over a month now with zero response to resolve and correct my account. Also, although Ive received no services, my account is now somehow one credit short of where it should be and I have no recourse as the front desk staff can only leave a post-it for Abbey who has not responded to a single call.I want a full refund and to never deal with this company ever again. I also, dont like taking to this type of communication to resolve a really simple billing error, but the staff and practices have left me no other choice. Really disappointing. Steer clear. You get what you pay for, this business model renders a really poor experience, which is a shame, because there are some good therapists there...

The most unprofessional company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. They make it extremely difficult to cancel your membership. Managers and workers at franchise locations just use the sorry this is told to us by corporate when trying to cancel, I have been trying to cancel my membership since October and have gotten the run around by management. When asked if I could transfer my 1 remaining credit to my wife, they told me there is a $10 fee. They will nickel and dime you to death. I will NEVER do business with Massage Envy again and will tell everyone I know to stay far away from this company. The entire companies process needs to be thrown in a fiery dumpster and started over from scratch. They will prey on consumers as long as the government allows them to run their company like the mob.

My husband bought me two gift cards for mothers day. I tried for almost a year to make an appointment with no luck. Either no one would answer it. They were booked full. I finally got an appointment but had to cancel. I canceled well within 24 hours. Six months later, I went to use one of the gift cards, and it had a zero balance. They called me after I was driving away to come back. I came back and asked to talk with a manager. She was not there, so I said, please do not process my card until someone calls me. Ten days later, they processed my card, and no call. I called them and got a call back the next day. I missed the call but was in the area, so I went to the store to talk with the manager. She was extremely rude and not helpful. There was no way she said she could help us, and we needed to call corporate. The way she talked to me was so shocking I was shaking. On the day of my facial, I walked in the door to a lady pumping hand sanitizer in my hands without asking. The lady who gave the facial would not stop talking about random stuff. The facial was supposed to be one hour, and it was forty minutes. The manager said they brought me back early, which is not valid. I was in the waiting area until my appointment started. The facialist was very rude about the products I use at home. The experience was horrible.

Absolutely horrible customer service. I signed up for a 6 month contract and am now still paying on month 9. I have been given wrong paperwork by my home store on two occasions when I asked to cancel. Despite me arguing with receptionist that she was having me sign freeze paperwork and not a cancellation notice I was told by several staff members including the manager that the paperwork was the same. I was assured my membership would be cancelled. I’m now on my third set of paperwork and they continue to pull funds from my account despite having told me they deleted the card on the account. Customer service doesn’t exist, there is no response from corporate. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM OF A COMPANY. Just yesterday when I spoke with the manager again regarding my situation I was told I now have enough massages saved to do 90 minute sessions instead. These massages are not saved, they are being wrongfully charged to me after I have filled out pages of paperwork for cancellation. The better business bureau needs to do something about this company.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. After my local store suddenly closed, with no prior communication, it took over a month for the corporate customer service to return my numerous calls and emails. After finally getting ahold of someone, they assured me that my unused credits would be extended for 6 months so I had time to use the 11 unused credits I had. When I tried to schedule my massage a few months later, I was informed that my entire account had been closed, thus losing out on $550 that I will never get back. Again, after trying to contact customer service, I still have not received a response. There is no contact number to call and all communication is to be directed to your local store. After doing some research as to why I had so many unused credits, I found out that every time I was going in for a treatment, I was being charged again, instead of my credits being used. So in reality, I spent over $1000 for 6 massages. I just want my money back for all the unused credits.

I signed up for a membership because I was convinced it would be a good investment. I work 12 hour shifts in a hospital and also have kids. So I unfortunately went almost a year without using my membership. So I canceled it. They gave me less than 2 months to use 13 unused services. I Asked if I could transfer it to a family member and they told me no. So only was able to go once and get a massage and a facial. And I was told once it canceled that was it. Massage envy states to be a company that focuses on making me feel better, relax and leave feeling refreshed and relaxed and at this point I see this company cares absolutely nothing about customers. No extension no anything. Under no circumstances. So God forbid you were in the hospital sick for a month then they don’t care. So my money went into cooperates bank account and I’m just here unsatisfied. The staff I can say were nice but the actual company does not care. Thanks for taking $600 from a hard working person.

BUYER BEWARE I Purchased a $100 Gift Card and mailed it to a work colleague in another state. When my work colleague tried to use the card it had a $0 balance. Store Manager Cheryl at the Westborough, MA location acknowledged that her staff never loaded the card balance but she refused to issue a refund. Instead, she asked that I have the card mailed back to me and bring it back into the store. I reached out to the corporate office for assistance and no one responded. They have a phone line dedicated to gift card issues but no one answers or calls back.

I signed up for a 1 year wellness membership in 2018. I had to get MD authorization, so my Flex account would cover the $65/month. At the end of the year, I had charges from Massage Envy (Arlington Highlands location in Arlington, TX) to my personal bank account. Massage Envy, stated I should have canceled my 1 year membership. I had no charges from Massage Envy for two consecutive months. Why would I need to cancel! Then they charged my personal account in November 2019 for 3 months (September, October & November). You would think someone would have called me, but no. I see these charges and I call them. Massage Envy don’t apologize for this. They are trying to make me liable! They didn’t have authorization to use my personal account, so I’m wondering why my card was saved to their computer system. Don’t use Massage Envy, they totally lack customer service!Update as of 1/22/2020: Massage Envy continues to charge my personal account again in December and January despite the many communications between the franchise location and corporate guest relations. No one wants to take ownership of the matter. This is bad management and bad leadership. I encourage everyone not to use this company. If you do, make it clear to them you do not want your card information saved to their database. At least you can then have control over what is being charged. I will update this review as I have more information.

I went in for a 1 hour massage, the massage therapist was awesome, very professional. The problem started at check out. The young lady at the counter (Manager) wanted to sell me a membership. I explained to her that I never sign up for memberships because of lack of time and she stated that I could cancel the membership anytime I wanted & that it came with several coupons for free services and even if I cancelled the membership I could still use the coupons. Ultimately I agreed solely because she stated that I could cancel anytime. 2 months later I still havent had the time to visit so I decided to cancel the membership that I was being charged once a month for. The lady I spoke with stated I could not cancel until my year was up. I was swindled, strong armed & lied to.They received 1 star because there isnt a zero! O & some of the coupons were already expired at time of sale!

I will say that it took them 3 months to let me know that my membership was not canceled.They also charged my bank card without my approval. I will never use them again or refer them. They lack professionalism and proper communication skills.

This Massage Envy was in Raleigh, NC (Brier Creek). I just learned a about a week ago that my wifes membership was cancelled last Jan-Mar2018 (depending on who you talk to). Her account had the same credit card and phone number as mine, but my account wasnt cancelled. This was only two months after we submitted a freeze application (which was accepted) for both accounts. Weve had some job changes and had another kid during this time frame, and didnt have time to schedule any massages. I couldnt get out of the membership without losing the services already purchased. I was asked to submit subsequent freeze apps in Jan2018, Jun2018, and Nov2018 for both memberships. These applications were accepted without a word about her account having been cancelled. I have email records of all these submissions and other conversations with ME personnel about the accounts. When I learned of the cancellation (Nov2018), I was told by two different manager that they have the right to cancel membership for any reason and that since it was past 60 days, there was no recourse for the lost (paid-for) services. They didnt even bother to clal the number on the account (or send an email to the address on the account) prior to the cancellation. My wifes account had 16 massages saved up - all of them deleted ($800 down the drain). When asked why my account wasnt cancelled - when tied to the same credit card and phone number as my wifes account, they blamed previous employees no longer with the company. I have never seen a business have such a disregard for just service of clients. Our last conversation was essentially a too bad so sad...have a good day. Im trying to reach out to the corporate office just to see what they think of this situation. As it stands right now, Ill never personally use nor gift any services from this company to anyone ever again.

After canceling my membership and forfeiting two of the massage credits the company starting charging my credit card again and when I asked them to refund the money on my cc they said they would do it and to give them 7-10 business days. It has not been over 30 days and every time I call I get another excuse. I have called corporate but they have chosen to not return my phone calls. I would never again sign up as a member and would definitely discourage others from doing so as well.

I went to Massage Envy Rockrimmon in Colorado Springs earlier this year after having my hip reconstruction done a year prior. I thought that this would help make my hip feel a little bit looser and more comfortable. IT DID THE EXACT OPPOSITE. After a session that I had in April/May my entire leg had gone completely numb for about 2 weeks. I had called the office as soon as it happened and asked to cancel my subscription because this was the last thing that I wanted. I spoke to the manager (Heidi) who sent me a form to fill out to what I was told to cancel my account. She said that my account would be cancelled and if I decided to come back I had until November to renew. A month later I get a call saying that my card had been declined (wasnt declined I had gotten a new credit card) and they needed a new one on file. I told them that I had already cancelled my account a month ago and they said that they had no forms signed saved on my account. Which led me to believe that the manager did not even submit these forms for me... Come to find out that she had not submitted the forms and that they found them in her emails. Now it is December and I am getting a phone call from massage envy saying that I have 3 hours on my account. I immediately call back saying that I have cancelled my account. The manager continues to tell me that I DID NOT cancel my account I just froze it. She also continues to tell me that the gal who took care of me last time is no longer with the company so she cannot ask her about the situation. She then tells me that she can cancel my account but I HAVE 3 HOURS that I can still use before I cancel. After having my leg go numb and on multiple instances having them try to charge my card obviously I do not want to ever return. The manager also leaded to tell me that she cannot refund my money that I can only use the hours. So thank you Rockrimmon Massage Envy for ruining my experience there I will NEVER be returning.

I had the membership. Went through all the hoops to send whatever email and filled out the forms they asked me to. They are still charging me 85$ a month. Every time i call they say they fixed it. No one knows what they are doing there. Stop charging me. I do not want your services- i had you for a year paid in full and now you are charging me a monthly service fee for what ???? Awful greedy company. Membership is not worth it, facial’s are not worth it. You can get all these services anywhere else and they wont take advantage of uou like this company.

My overall experience when receiving services was awesome. The massage therapist was great. She was very professional and knowledgeable. However, I have had unauthorized charges on my card and no one has contacted me despite being told a manager would contact me. I have emailed and called still no response. After being called numerous times I advised that I no longer wanted to be a member. The minute I enabled my card I was charged despite asking them to remove my card. A really frustrating experience. I hate I did the membership. The staff were very misleading when telling me how it worked. I would not recommend the membership. Very disappointed at how they handle customers

I am writing to share a negative experience with both your customer service and your process overall. I was recently a patron at your location in Naperville (South) located at: 2720 Showplace DriveSuite 100Naperville, IL 60564. I tried to deal with the manager at that location “Sarah” and she was both trite/condescending and rude trying to get an understanding of why my card continued to be charged despite us attempting to put my girlfriend’s membership on hold.We were charged for $400 of massages we were unable to use prior to the cut-off date that was buried in your contract paperwork.Facts:-Your front desk people at this location never informed me that there was no way to pause the account and still use charged massages when I signed up-The fact you have to use all of the massages already charged for before a certain time was also not communicated to me when signing up-I was never told that I had to go through a formal process to pause the account so my card continued to be charged while she was not going for the service-Your in location sign up process is not transparent and your managers are rude.Now I have to waste more of my time going through requesting a credit through my credit card company and if that is not honored I will take legal steps while also sharing my experience online on all the review sites possible.

I would give negative stars if I could. 5 months ago I called to cancel my membership because I was laid off from my job and needed the money more than massages. The woman I spoke with asked if I would like to pause my membership. I said yes, but I would need a call back before it got reinstated. She told me that was no problem and that was the end of that conversation. Cut to Friday (10/13/17) theyve taken money from my account without calling me as I requested. I called and spoke with the assistant manager and told her I wasnt in a financial situation where I could keep my membership and I wanted to go ahead and cancel and get a refund. She told me that to get my refund I would need to pay for all five months that my membership was paused. She gave me a spiel about how I made an agreement when I put my membership on pause that I would pay back those five months. I explained that I made no such agreement and that if I had been informed of this fact 5 months ago, I wouldve just cancelled my membership then. I told her how upset I was and that I wouldnt accept that answer and she told me there was nothing she could do. I could cancel my membership and there would be no refund. Then she HUNG UP ON ME! I called back to speak with the manager and the manager told me there was nothing she could do and even if I called corporate, they would just send me back to that branch and they would tell me the same thing. The rudeness of those people is astounding and Im out almost $60 when I desperately need that money. I will never go back to Massage Envy.ADDITIONAL NOTE: 11/13/17 - My account has been charged AGAIN and no one has responded to my emails or my phone messages from either corporate or the branch. This is absolutely ridiculous and I am livid!

My husband attempted to buy me a gift card on their website for my birthday and it did not go through. He did not receive an email or a confirmation that their was any changes made or a gift card issued. He then went to a competitor and bought me a gift card. I received an email from them and he was charged. He then went to purchase something and was notified that he had overdrawn his account. It turns out that he was charged for TWO $100 gift cards by Massage Envy. He attempted to call the corporate office and left a message. He did not receive a call back and contacted a local location in Phoenix. I also sent their gift card department an email. He received an email back and so did I from someone there stating that they apologize and want to know what to do.He asked for a refund on BOTH charges, as he made his purchase with another organization. The company issued a refund for one of the gift cards and sent me an email with the other one. I then emailed them asking for a refund for both and was told that they do not issue refunds on gift cards and that my husband had asked for the initial gift card to be resent. He sent another email asking why they did not refund both and has yet to receive a reply. Every time I attempt to contact their corporate office, I am sent to voicemail. There is no way to talk to anyone on the phone about this. It is frustrating that my husband attempted to buy me a nice gift and it has just caused stress. This company offers TERRIBLE customer service.

After about 4 years I decided to cancel my membership. Very unprofessional. I arrived for my session therapist decided to cancel me. All I got was a we can reschedule. Another time therapist cancel oh we have another therapist that’s even better nope my needs were not met. Front desk clerk forgets to check you in as they seem overwhelmed with answering g phone calls. Today I had a $60 gift card was told it was 39.00 with attitude and did not answer my questions or concerns. I’m done with this place. Will not recommend. It starts off great. Look out.

I have had a membership for many yrs with a Littleton, CO location. When Covid hit and they couldnt keep their doors open I chose to continue supporting this site by continuing my monthly dues being withdrawn from my account. Fast forward to 2021, I manage a business that is having its own Covid issues and I an responsible to keep the business staffed. I cant always get in for a massage, if I try to find an appoint. their booked for weeks out!! I asked to freeze my dues being I had 12 massages built up. The managers answer was we can do a freeze plus but youll get charged 20.00 a month to do it. So I need their support during this time and now they WONT budge!! Dont fall into the trap, find another company! Side note, the massage therapists are amazing!!Tried the portal in the response....its a black hole! Will be seeking advice on the matter!Reached out to Sarah the store manager and when I asked to speak with someone above her, she replied I am the only point of contact and you cannot speak with anyone else! This is the biggest disappointment for someone who is been with Massage Envy since 2018. Someone in the ownership needs to do better!

My experience with massage envy was so negative that I dont ever want to use the services again. And after reading that others have similar issues, it just confirms that I need to find another massage therapy place. Would not recommend to friends or family. Take business elsewhere.I got my boyfriend a gift certificate for his birthday here, and when he booked an appointment for deep pressure online,he gets to massage envy after taking the day off work to be told that the masseuse only does light to medium. He is then told to reschedule. (Mind you, an employee admitted that the massage envy was at fault)Later I go in because he wont go back, due to the first experience, to try to get a refund for the gift certificate.They then inform me that they dont do refunds for gift certificates . Which wouldve been nice to know before I bought it. They also say that I can use the gift certificate for myself or purchase anything from their store. As if I want to spend another penny at this place. There is zero transparency or care for their clients.And after further researching about this location, the reviews are awful. And many others have had similar issues. I cant wait to see what the bbb rating is..... never again, and I still want my money back.

I missed one payment due to an oversight on my part and told the store that I would take care of it in one week. I was told that my account was suspended and that I was unable to use the massages that I already paid for. When I asked to cancel my account and refund the nine massages that I already paid for I was told that no refund could be given. So, I paid for a service that massage Envy will not honor due to one missed payment. This is no way to treat your clients, ever.

Such disturbing and unethical behavior by the corporate office. Every time I attempt to cancel membership or place on hold because of the pandemic they deflect and tell me to contact the local franchisee where I originally registered (despite having moved). I then call the franchisee and they claim they never received any notice from their corporate office and that I need to cancel with them.I then contacted the corporate office again and they stated that they relayed the message again to the local franchisee, but that they would not be able to provide the name or address of which location it was!Meanwhile, 4 of the 5 appointments that I have scheduled have been canceled last minute because the front desk clerk admitted that the staff is getting paid more on unemployment rather than providing services.Massage Envy is a bad actor and highly despicable.Update to my review:I was finally able to freeze my account and selected 6 months. 60 days later I was rebilled because their internal policy is to only freeze 30 days at a time per a customer’s request. Horrible customer service. I ordered a gift card online and the site crashed - which appears to be a reoccurring issue seeing there are complaints from May about the website crashing. After waiting the recommended time (an hour) for the gift card to arrive (I waited 6 hours), I couldnt find any contact information on their website for customer service and ended up calling a branch, then referred to another location, and lastly the headquarters. The branches were very professional and quickly provided contact information.Once I received the gift card department, I was advised, by recording of course, to send an email, as all operators were busy during business hours. I emailed them explaining the issue with screenshots and waited. No response that night, after 24 hours, or after a couple days. I took filing a claim with my credit card (I waited until the charge was no longer pending in case it reversed) for them to contact me. Then they emailed me a receipt and email confirmation showing my receipt with a different amount. I replied back with a question to the amount and still no response after 2 days.Thank goodness I had the gift card emailed to me instead of my sister (thanks for making my gift late ME), otherwise I would never have known if the gift card was actually sent. Emailing GUEST RELATIONS IS A JOKE. Do yourself a favor and get the gift card at a store. The company needs to disable the feature on their website if theyre not going to fix the server error. Who knows how many people theyve ripped off by not delivering the promised gift card.

If I could give zero stars I would. To call yourself a health and wellness company when you have caused me nothing but stress and inconvenience. I have 7 unused massages as I was being charged for months without knowledge and when I asked to remove my card off file. I’m told I have to fill out paperwork and bring it into the office, but wait it has to be 10 days before I’m billed in order to cancel my account. And after I cancel I have 60 days to use 7 massages! I ask for an emailed version and was sent a form that still needed to be printed out and faxed or turned back in. When I talk to the manager Sky, I am told that I will not be refunded for any massages that I DO NOT AUTHORIZE!! When I asked for my card to be removed, it should have been and I would’ve cancelled my account when I could. But no, this company knowingly tried to suck me dry even after being told to take my card off file! After trying to dispute things with my bank I am denied on what grounds? I was not under a contract! Not using your service! Not only did you continue to charge but charged more than I paid while I was aware I was being charged!! Absolutely disgusted with your service and would never recommend ME to anyone!! And I would like to hear from someone soon!! I will post this any and everywhere I can! So sad I just want to be done with you folks and this has dragged on for almost a year!! 7 months of unused service!

We cancelled our membership and we specifically asked if we could transfer a massage per policy. They specifically mentioned that was ok. We call to schedule the massage, they say they changed policies and that’s no longer allowed. They gave us corporate number, no option to talk to a person, no call back. Unbelievable. Totally unprofessional. We were going to pick up our membership again in December, never again will we do business with this place.

I am writing this review in regard to my extreme dissapointment with the professionalism and business practice of Massage Envy. Almost 7 months ago I had signed up for monthly massages and shortly thereafter had to cancel due to time conflicts with work and other personal conflicts. I called the store and explained the situation and was told no problem and that my account would be cancelled. Fast forward one month, I check my bank account and find that I was charged the monthly fee of $65. I immediately called the store, spoke with a manager and was refunded. I was told that they were not sure why I was charged and should not be moving forward. Fast forward another month. Guess what? Yes, I was charged again. I called and was given the same speal by another manager. This has continued every month over the last 4 months. I’ve not been refunded every month this has happened. After 5 months I decided to change my bank card and cancel my old number so they could not continue to charge. Today, I check my bank account and find that $65 was deducted. I am absolutely astounded that this has happened and have no idea how this could happen. I was reading reviews for the West Ashley store and saw another customer have the same experience. How is this legal? I expect Massage Envy to fix this and refund me for all the months I was charged after cancelling my account.

Wow. Terrible customer service, I called the store I signed up with, Las Colinas, TX, to cancel my membership due to moving to another state. The lady on the phone was very hostile about the membership cancellation and refused to do it since I have a location near my new home. Well given the environment, there is no way I can use this service with the store being closed and the closure is indefinite. Plus I will not be comfortable getting touched by a stranger who is touching other (potentially sick) people all day long. I didn’t mind the membership prior to Covid but we live in a new environment now and this company is failing to recognize and adapt with surroundings. I’ll be sure to share my experience with friends and family members so they can avoid setting up a membership with this company.Update as of 10/19/20: I was told that in order to get another 6 month extension, I would have to make a payment. They refuse to cancel my membership or refund me on a service I can’t use and now won’t extend the freeze on my account. The only option I have is to use the service in my state which is still locked down and Covid cases are on a rise. They said they would only cancel IF a doctor gives me a note and only if THEY approve it. Feels like fraud to me. Charging customers for something they can’t use and that would jeopardize their health. Seems like a smart plan.

I have made numerous calls to ME corporate office and left messages to have my call returned. Never have they returned one call. The customer service is horrible. Even the spa managers mentioned that they dont have any luck contacting them. I have been a member since 2011. They take my money each month but will not return my phone calls. It seems that everyone is having the same issue with calls and emails not being returned. I guess all I should expect from them is to contact them by email which it looks like they dont return messages either. Frustrating.

DO NOT LET THEM STEAL YOUR MONEY! Massage Envy has debited money from my account without my consent and with no notification and REFUSE to offer a refund. I had a membership at the Athens, Georgia location. During my last visit in June, I asked the associate when my membership would end. I was told that my membership would end in September and that would be my final payment. I then stated that I wished to cancel my membership. My wife was present and can verify what was said. AT NO POINT WAS I EVER GIVEN OR TOLD THAT I HAVE TO FILL OUT A CANCELLATION FORM TO TERMINATE MY MEMBERSHIP. Yesterday, I was billed another 49.99 from Massage Envy. I called to find out why I had been billed and the associate transferred me to the general manager, Pam. Pam was immediately hostile and tried to throw the contract language at me. All I wanted was a refund for ONE month which I had no intention of using. She was EXTREMELY rude and her only explanation for not being able to provide a refund is, because we dont do that It was then that Pam informed me that my membership actually ended in JULY. So, not only did they completely disregard offering me a cancellation form, but I was lied to about when my membership was supposed to end. At this point I am furious. This is FRAUD! Ive found out that this is common practice at Massage Envy all over the country. I have tried emailing corporate and calling, but have received NO RESPONSE. My next step will be Civil Court and filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau. MASSAGE ENVY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. DO NOT GO THERE!!!

Me and my friends scheduled a hour massage on May 29, 2017. Instead of an hour It was 40 minutes I was literally waiting on my friends to come out. Then the computers was down so know credit card payments could be taken so I paid cash. My friends left their phone and best time to call for the next day in order to give their credit card payment info. Massage envy never called them but they charged each one of their sessions to my card do to I was the only one who had a card on file. So I called back to let them know that I never gave anyone authorization to charge my card and how un professional it was for them to do so with notification. I was told that they credit my card back for each of my friend sessions. On May 31st 2017 I did receive a credit for one session. I called back today 6/5/2017 to advised them that only one was credited. Now I having to call my credit card company to find out why was only one charge posted. Its had not been a good experience and no I nor my friend will be going back or make referrals to other. This could of been avoided.

I went to cancel my membership November 2018. My Location is Creve Coeur Missouri. They apparently put a freeze on the account. I went in shortly after to cancel because no one thoroughly explained that i could use my 13 massages sitting there. I went in argued with them and canceled the membership. JANUARY 2020 they took a payment out. The manager wont refund because they can not find the cancelation form. So all this time NOW they decide to charge me again. This is unacceptable. Signed up for a year membership in Nov 2019. Have not been able to book online the entire time. This was a main feature offered by the company. I feel it is false advertising to expressly convey a service and not have the means to provide or adequately support it. This is why I am cancelling the membership. Which they say requires you to come into your local branch and fill out a cancellation form, with a manager present. There really isnt any support for the website, according to the corporate automated jingle, contact your local office Funny Local office says they have no control with website problems. The actual massages were good, but the gimmick is offering the ability to schedule online.

I transferred a massage to my mom in June of this year. The first time she was ever transferred a massage was by my best friend. When the company ME typed in her phone number area code (601) they transposed the digits and typed (610) instead of (601) so whenever I transfer massages to her, I have to help them find the account bc her phone number is incorrect in the system. I transferred a massage around June 20, 2019 and my card was charged $10. My mother went in today, August 2, to redeem her massage and had to call me because of the mixup. I, in turn, had to call my home location which is in Las Colinas Irving and make sure that the transfer was still there for her. When I called, I let them know everything about how the phone number was probably the problem and how I had already paid for the transfer. However they proceeded to charge my card another $10 and a soon as I realized, within seconds, (bank notifications set up on my phone to let me know of each transaction in real time) I called back to let them know to refund it. The area manager Adrian informed me that the bank would take 3 to 5 business days to process it. This upset me highly and I asked for the refund in cash because I had already explained that I had already paid for the transfer however someone still took it upon themselves to charge my card another $10. Adrian was very snippy and rude with me and let me know that she would not be able to refund me in cash because she already refunded the card which I understand however I let her know that she needed to be held accountable since she’s the ‘area manager.’ This is the one place that I expected never upset me because your purpose is to relax me. Simply because I informed the branch of exactly the reason and the date of when I transferred the massage but they still charged my card again and then turned around and told me that my bank would be the one to be held accountable for how long it should be before I get reimbursed although I have already explained the scenario is the reason I’m so d*** upset! LISTEN before you ACT!I just emailed corporate and left a massage and am expecting a return CALL within 3 business days!

My wife is a member and has been so for over a year now. She has a total of 4 massages from the last few months of membership so she decided to book both of us massages. She was told that she could not book the appointment without a valid card on file. However, we both received email confirmations and voicemails saying we have appointments on Monday.We both took off work early to make our appointment only to be told we were not booked upon our arrival. I finally decided to use my gift card. After a lengthy conversation finding the right masseuse and dates etc., she refused to make the appointment because I dont have a credit card. I didnt see the point of giving a credit card for her to create a profile for me and secondly, I insisted if she can just use the gift card number instead. She said, No! I and my husband have been a member for a very long time. We go to the one in Mansfield Texas. In the last 6 months nothing has gone right. First a couple of our therapist have quit some did tell us before they were gone that they would not be working at this location anymore because they were treated terribly.I always book two months in advance. We had to cancel a couple of sessions because my husband was going thru chemotherapy. Once we were done we were looking forward to returning. I always call to confirm the appointments...suddenly we were not scheduled...someone took us off the schedule. Then it happened again and again.The manager did not want to come to the phone. I tried to cancel my membership after a year with them because there prices went from 65 to 70 dollars. I sent them an email to cancel and they told me it would take 10 days to cancel and I would be charged the 70 dollars! They never contacted me to see it that was what I wanted, they never checked up with me just took money after I sent them an email. They sent me a form to fill out 2 days after I emailed them! My wife purchased gift card for her daughter. Staff at Easley SC store would not honor it and said they couldnt find their names having ever purchased one. We have bank statements proving purchase. Having already recieved massage, she was told she had to pay again. They even threatened her with the police if she didnt pay. Hope they like the bad ratings. We used to love massage Envy as it was a fairly inexpensive source for massages and the therapists are well trained. THIS HAS CHANGED! In the past 6 months my husband and I have had 4 previously booked massages cancelled due to sick calls. We booked these massages a month in advance only to have been let down again and again.Not only have they been cancelled within a couple of hours of the session but the ability to re-schedule is ridiculously limited. If you dont book at least a month in advance you will not get a massage. Period. Lastly, my phone calls are rarely returned. Dont get fooled by the price . It is not worth the hassle. Also agree with the comment of a 40-45 minute massage/session. I am fed up and want a refund!!!!!!

Today I share a story, cause it looks like massage envy response to reviews instead of responding to there customers. I purchased a E-gift card for my wife, and after purchasing it said error, then my bank have got a hold of me. To see if I was authorizing the transaction. So I thought the error was do to the bank, so I thought the transaction did not go through, so I redid the transaction and the error code showed again. So I thought nothing of it the transaction did not go through. A week late I was checking the account and the authorization went through twice. So I check my wifes email to see if she received the E-gift she has not. I called the local massage envy and talk with the manager in Apple Valley California, she said I had to talk to the corporate office in Scottsdale Arizona, So I did.Contact by calls and emails, which supposedly they respond quicker through emails, which is bull corn. I put it this way it is already June 3rd 2019, this was mothers day. NO CALL AND NO EMAIL to resolve my issues. It funny how the local management are more professional then the corporate. I am going to overwhelm the reviews, I see the reviews get more attention now, it is sad how the customer service operates. You have to give bad reviews to get a response. Believe me they would not have got one star if I could, but I had to post. Not a happy camper right now. No one told me that after I made my 12 monthly payments that I had to pay $65 monthly. I have 9 visits remaining out of my 12 and I was told that if I canceled my membership I have 60 days to use the remaining visits or I lose them. I also inquired about gifting the visit to someone and I was told that there is a $10 fee and I could only gift to one person once a month. They continued to tell me that they can not give me my $65 back because it part of the agreement and that they try to advise all of there client of this. You have to join their monthly club just to get a massage at the price it should be. The price they charge is NOT worth what they give you. The service was awful and every person I tried started me 10 minutes late and sometimes ended almost 15-20 minutes early! So I decided I didnt want my membership seeing as they are not delivering what they promise. The lady at the store was short, rude and cocky. She refused to cancel it. I called corporate THREE times. Not sure how else to get the attention of management so I have to give a negative review. On July 6th, my wife and I cancelled our membership at the Murphy Tx location according to the requirements given to us by the office team. We were told that after cancellation it would take 10 days for our cancellation to be processed and that no further debits would take place after that time. We cancelled our membership because we are tired of paying for 90 minute massages that last 75-80 minutes, price changes without notification/approval, and due to consistent cancellations and/or scheduling errors by the office team. On July 9th, having not received confirmation of the cancellation, I followed up again with the office team to confirm. We finally received a response on July 12th confirming the cancellation. At that time I requested confirmation that no additional debits for dues would hit our account and I never received a response. This morning, July 25th, the monthly debit for our account hit despite the cancellation. In addition, I have asked 3 times for the total massage credits on our accounts so we can schedule those massages within the 60-day period given to us by the office team. To this date, I have not received a response. In fact, I have asked in person and have been unable to get an answer. Unfortunately, Massage Envy has demonstrated a lack of effort, transparency, integrity, and urgency. Obviously our decision to cancel our accounts has been justified by this situation but wed like others to know what theyre getting into before signing up for Massage Envy services. In addition, we believe Massage Envy should be concerned that some of these issues have been litigated elsewhere in the past.

Every month they were taking out $60 which is not a problem because I kept telling myself you know I’m a go get a massage and you know just use what I’ve been paying for basically. Tried to call the corporate office number that was on file via Google called it straight to voicemail told to leave a message didn’t want to leave a message want to talk to representative. Future customers beware this company cares nothing about its customers all they want is your money you try to call and get your money back or resolution is to get your money back told all the PaperWorks probably sitting on somebody’s desk, maybe they haven’t gotten around to it I don’t know either way if you can cancel your membership cancel your membership right away.

I finally scheduled a massage at the location in Park Ridge, Ill in late July after supporting this business with my monthly payments throughout the pandemic. I requested a vaccinated therapist and was told my request violates HIPAA, which it does not. The staff was just horribly rude and argumentative when I made my request. I am acting in a responsible way when I do not spend 90 minutes in a closed room with an unvaccinated therapist. (That the location allows unvaccinated employees is just beyond me.) I’ve made repeated requests with the location and the franchise owner to refund me my unused credits. I’m yet to be refunded. Horrible.I reached out repeatedly to the corporate office -- I left voice mail messages and filled out their contact form. The message, below, is five weeks after my initial contact with the corporate office and the only response from corporate I received.The franchise owner did reimburse me for my unused credits. I received the credits about three weeks after my appointment and first complaint.

(These issues were shared in detail with the Tucson spa, so they could understand the urgent need to pause the account and remove Massage Envy as a stress-or in my life. I just skimmed through your web page and couldnt take it any more. You are not a wellness spa dedicated to your clients health, you are a company that locks members into a transaction. If this Tucson spa knew anything about me, they would know that I am dedicated to massage therapy and would return when my urgent matters settled down.But no, during one of the hardest times of my life I was at the DMV getting a new license with my new address to prove my address change to my massage spa....this is not what I needed to be focusing on during this time. I did not understand why my situation was not enough to pause until I came back. I know every business has to set a rule to ensure membership retention, but this was so incredible ruthless and ignorant.After my peaceful day at the DMV, I brought my new license to the store and...nope, my new address is within 25 miles of a Massage Envy. I wish I could re-enact my reaction. It was the initial laugh, haha, you guys are funny, to the tears and realization that you all are incredibly stone-cold people. I cannot believe I was standing in the lobby of Massage Envy for the second time crying and asking (almost begging) for an exception. Who is in charge of these strict policies? Who trained these employees to stand like robots completely unaffected by the steps I was taking to prove I needed A BREAK! ALSO, I would like to remind the company that this is months after the national reports of sexual misconduct that took place within spas, including incidents here in headquarters hometown. I am not a corporate customer service expert ,but I imagine in the months following such negative publicity, customer service would remain #1 priority. But no, there I was crying in your lobby...I let the charges come through because I had to deal with urgent life matters.Months later, as I was adult-ing and reviewing finances I was reminded I needed to call Massage Envy. At this point, believe it or not, I would have still returned if they removed 2 months of charges. That is $120. Every month, I see my ME charge come through. I was visiting with a dear friend that I had not seen in a long time...but I had to take the call because all charges would not be removed if I didnt sort this out. Another 10-15 minute call and we had it settled. I banned Massage Envy would never charge me again. I purchased a $125 gift card for my wife as a Mothers Day gift. My wife went to use it at the Bedford Hills NY location. She informed them about the gift card prior to the massage. Once the massage was complete she was informed the card could not be used and she had to pay. They told her that SHE had to try and resolve it herself. She was embarrassed and paid without a fuss. I was livid. I have made attempts to contact Massage Envy many times with no response. Their customer service is non existent. I have tried calling 3-4 times, left messages with no response over 4 days. I have been charged $98 for a missed appointment during which my sister had arrested and passed away in the hospital. The receptionist inconsideratly asked “well, did you cancel your appointment” followed by, even if you cancelled same day you would be charged $50. Calling Massage Envy during that time wasn’t my first priority. I would like to continue going as the massage therapist was very good. I am frustrated with the lack of compassion and customer service.

I had a membership and accumulated several extra massages that I wanted to gift to family and friends. They have a corporate policy of only allowing one massage per month gifted to non-members. Which in my opinion is asinine. I would think that they would want the opportunity to sell another membership or gift card. I had eight un-used massages and stopped payment on my membership. Now Im getting harassing phone calls from a collection agency. Nice Policy, you will never ever see another dime of my money and I will make sure I tell everyone I know what a crappy franchise this is. I got high pressured into joining in November 2011 when my wife and I went fora couples massage. The next month we went again, and after that every timewe have attempted to schedule a couples massage (they only have one roomfor this at Desert Ridge) it is unavailable. I tried calling several days in advanceand still no luck, and minimal cooperation. Desert Ridge is the only Massage Envy in the area that has a couples room. Its like they lose interest once youhave signed up. I have been paying every month since then, and am cancellingnow. They are terrible!!! I strongly urge anyone considering to think twice, thenthink again. My wife and I pay $109 every month for NOTHING! So to summarize,I have paid $636.00 for two massages!!!

ZERO STARS! I went to purchase a E-Gift Card from their website and they had taken the money out of our account but DID NOT send the gift card out or me a confirmation. I spent a whole day calling corporate and sending emails to receive no response. Corporate does not answer their phone. I even called my local massage envy and they said didn’t even have corporates number and they could not help me. I called my bank and disputed the charges. Then THREE DAYS LATER I receive 2 confirmations for gifts cards sent, one for $300 (which I DID NOT purchase) and another for the $150. I tried to call the corporate office again and this time it didn’t even ring, it went straight to voicemail. Zero customer service, absolutely horrible experience. This is the best place for massage and facials! If you are looking for somewhere to relax and not pay an arm and a leg this place is it! I dont know what is wrong with all of the other reviews saying they were pressured into the membership? If you didnt want to do it, then why did you? Also their cancellation policy must have changed because I can cancel my membership with just a 10 days notice once Ive completed my year, and still have 60 more days to use my massages. I have a contract with Massage Envy to be charged once per month in exchange for 1 massage per month. Today they took two pre-paid sessions from my account even though I only used one session. They have committed fraud. I never booked two sessions, and they have no proof of my intention to book two sessions except for the word of one of their employees. Massage Envy will not let me cancel my contract. The verbiage of the contract is designed for intentional entrapment. So, my wife got a years massage package in which they deduct from Bank account automatically. However one must fully read and remember to check the contract carefully!!! After the years contract is expired one must go in person to sign contract termination. Failure to do so will incur continued deduction from ones account. Furthermore, any unused monthly massages must be used in 30 days or you WILL Forfeit your massages and your MONEY!!! People are nice, company policies...... just be careful

The massage envy in Medford, OR disappeared one night...went for a scheduled appt. and the door was locked and the business empty. No phone call received about the closing. I cannot cancel membership as I have no franchise to go to to do so! I have called since March 5th ( it is the 22nd today)and left voice messages, and emails to corporate customer relations with no return phone calls or emails. I have a few credits to use, and to add insult to injury they deducted this months membership fees from my credit card.Any suggestion on what to do next?

Very disappointed in this company. I have been a member for over a year and Im going to cancel. Too much stress and they are not willing to understand life circumstances. I understand this is a business and there are policies in place. But what got me furious is that I was caught in traffic due to a fetal accident in route and could not find a way to an alternate route. Therefore,I called an hour before my appointment to inform them that I will either be late or unable to make it, ask if this could be excused due to the current situation and they still charge me.I would not have been bothered if they charged me if I was a no-called no-show or if it was a difference situation calbut Ithus was not ledmy fault. I gave myself ample time to make it to my appointment and yet still was unable to. I reached out to corporate, it kept going to voicemail and the manager for the midtown location apparently was not in, conveniently. The employee continued to charge me over $30 for missing the appointment on top of my membership fee. The situation was out of my hand and they were not willing to understand my circumstances therefore I rather not be a member because there are no REAL benefits. Annoyed, I did so and sent it in to my home location, Gleannloch Farms in Spring, Texas. I was just charged for another month AGAIN yesterday. I called the location, explained the problem (and my frustration) and resent the cancellation paperwork again. I stayed on the phone to make sure they received it...again. I was told by the front desk that I would hear from a manager yesterday, which I did not. I tried to call the location FOUR times today and kept getting sent to a voicemail. I want the charge removed from my card; I dont want credits, etc. - the services were mediocre at best and the never had any availability. I would appreciate a response. What a terrible way to run a business.

Garbage. I have had a membership for over 2 years. I have 19 massages accumulated and they won’t let my girlfriend use them with me but once every 6 months. Complete waste of money. If I cancel I lose what I have accumulated after 60 days. Have you tried to get a massage you have to schedule far out. I can give a massage out to other people however but not my girlfriend. Real smart business idea, give out to people 1 at a time or use it on two people who would like to go together.

Very very unprofessional. DO NOT GET A MEMBERSHIP. It will be an ordeal to get it canceled. They will continue to charge you, they will say they are going to refund your money, they wont. They will say they are going to call back, they wont. Everyone will promise to find out whats going on and you will have to keep calling to get any information. I canceled my membership in April. I was charged in May. I was promised a refund. Its June 20th and I still havent gotten a refund and have not received a call back from the manager. Ive called probably 10+ times at this point and nothing. I cant imagine its any better at any other franchise so just avoid all of them.

My home location was closed, and I had SEVERAL hours remaining on my account, which it appears that I no longer have access to when reviewing my account online. Ive called the corporate office several times and have not been able to get ahold of anyone. Today a suspicious charge of $195 was charged to my credit card, however, I am no longer able to see my credits and am unable to book an appointment at the surrounding locations.I will be forced to seek legal action, as I am out of thousands of dollars when counting all of the accrued service credits and the $195 charged to my account today. I am extremely disappointed in the Massage Envy brand, as this is extremely poor customer service, bordering on fraud.

Beware! You can get a massage anywhere in town. The important thing is the Customer Service you receive and Message Envy Ballanyne Village Charlotte NC has the worse Customer Service. They are thieves and will steel your money. Their tactic is to lock you into contracts of 6 months or longer. If you cancel the contract that you rightfully fulfilled by paying ever month, paying in full, but dont use your message every month to save it for future months, they then give you a time limit of something like 30-60 days after you end your contract to use them or you lose them. This is a bad way of doing business and just tells you that they dont retain clients. I lost 2 of the 6 massages paying around $65 per month after ending my contract because i couldnt use them in that 60 day window. It makes no sense to me why a massage place would do this, I cancelled because I still planned on going, just not every month. I will never go back there and you shouldnt either. All my friends in ballantyne will also know about this as I will let them know the practices of this parlor. I suggest going to hand and stone message instead, which is only a mile or two away down Johnston. Dont give massage envy your business.

Went into the store in port Charlotte to cancel. I too was told to could cancel anytime. NOT true. I have four unused visits because no one is every available when I try to book appointments. I call no one available. I try online none available. When I went into store lady says Im the owner. Said she could get me in right then. Well isnt that a surprise its been months and they could never get me in and the day I wanna cancel she has availability. Funny how that works. I told her I didnt want membership anymore she continued to argue with me. I asked for corporate she refused. Do not get a membership here! When my husband got cancer, I stopped going for 8 months to take care of him. When I called to use the sessions I had previously paid for (nothing else), they told me Id have to bring my account current (8 months of payments) to use the sessions I had already paid for. Thats a total of 16 sessions, which as you can imagine is impossible to use without continuing your membership. I repeatedly told her I didnt want to continue a membership, I just wanted to use what I already paid for. After going around and around, I asked for the corporate office information. The representative I spoke to told me I would need to look it up on the internet because they didnt have it! Really?!!

Massage Envy does not seem to get the point of massages. It is to make people feel better and more relaxed. I get my friend a gift cert for one massage at the store. It is fully paid for. When she gets there they ask for her credit card and drivers license, for reasons i have no idea. Following her okay massage she is hounded by the front desk about joining a membership which she had no interest in doing. They were so aggressive she joined with the condition she can cancel with a 3 day grace period. So she goes into the store for a free massage, comes out trying to cancel a massage envy membership she does not want in the first place. Not the whole point of a massage, she is actually more stressed out. So if there was a horrible option on this review, i would click it.

I am horribly sore. I feel so much worse than what I felt before going. I got a 1 hr massage from a therapist who talked too much and breath stinked! At the end he tried to sell me their discount program. When I got to the front desk I was told about the program again. Reluctantly I signed up. This was my 1st experience due to a gift card I was given from a very generous friend. I will NEVER EVER EVER go back! I do not recommend. I called 3 times to speak to the manager with no call returned. I have been taking Ibuprofen to get the inflammation in my back to go down. Legal action being taken. My husband and I impulsively joined the East Northport Long Island location under pressure to get the price of $49 dollars a month, locked into a contract for a year with automatic renewals to protect the remaining amount of massage services that we had left over which were 12 for me, 11 for him. When I went in to cancel today, they told me I would have to pay 2 additional months when the contract clearly states All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing and will become effective 30 days from the cancellation date, today is Oct 19th, 30 days would be November 18th. The young lady at the desk told me that my husband would be charged for 12/9/13 and I would be charged for 12/21/13..when I asked for a manager and read the contract back to the young lady she changed the last payment for my husband to 11/9/13 and 11/21/13 for me. In addition on the cancellation form where it states membership cancellation request date she refused to write todays date and on my request it states 11/21/13 when my request for cancellation is today and have put the final EFT date as 11/21/13 even though this is past 30 days. I will be contacting the corporate office. The massage quality was fair and the available massage times were also fair.

I discussed my concerns with a scheduling coordinator Victoria, she was rude and unprofessional and charged my CC for 90 min of massage. I had the worst experience of my life at Massage Envy Clarendon/Arlington. I have had repeated cancellations without notice by the front desk. I understand that things come up, but I would appreciate a call or e-mail before I get there to find out my appointment has been cancelled. My sessions also ALWAYS start 8-10 minutes late even though I usually arrive 10 minutes early. I never get the full hour that I pay for and that is just bad business. On my most recent trip and the reason for this review is I was treated very poorly by the staff here. I came in for my appointment and was given a new massage therapist. When we sat down to get the session started, she wanted to ask me about myself and my injuries. I told her nicely that everything is in my file and that I would just like to get started. She told me she did not want to read the file, she would rather hear it from me. At this point I got a little irritated because what is the point of keeping information on file in the first place? I was also just looking forward to finally having a full hour long session, but this didn’t happen. Once she noticed that I was a little irritated, she told me that she was not going to do the massage for me. At this point, she went to go talk to the manager(Ronn) and when I came out to the lobby area, the manager(Ronn) came and told me that they were going to cancel my membership! I never asked them to cancel my membership, and I find it extremely rude that they basically kicked me out when they are the ones at fault here. I will never return to Massage Envy in Clarendon nor would I ever recommend any of my friends go there! Complete and utter embarrassment for a business. My farher in law bought me a gift card for Christmas & sent it to the wrong e-mail adress. He’s called & left numerous voicemails with the corporate office. He’s sent numerous e-mails. I know this because he’s shown them to me, and I was in the room on Sunday when he left a voicemail.Noone from Massage Envy has gotten back to him. Noone will respond to an e-mail, nor to a phone call. This is absurd.My wife is a member, and after this debocle, I doubt she’ll keep her membership. I was given a $200.00 gift card from my husband and made an online appointment to use it two weeks in advance, planned my whole entire day around this appointment and when I got there she said I didnt have an appointment, they have a problem with the online booking and sometimes it does not show up on their computer. She didnt offer to help me make another one or even appologize for the inconveinience. There should be a statement online saying to call and verify your appointment after you book it if you know there is an issue with the online bookings. I drove past one Massage Envy that is about 20 minutes from my house due to bad reviews and drove for 45 minutes to make this appointment. I stood there a few minutes just looking at her and then turned and left. I would never recommend this place to anyone. That is horrible customer service, that is no way to treat customers. How do I get my money back on the gift card because I will NEVER use this place??? The online reviews are horrible (I only read them after my issue) full of people treatment issues that are unresolved. I could not find a phone number to call to complain and I didnt want to call the place that treated me this way. What do you do about issues or problems people have with the services after they pay good money to use this place? Never would I ever recommend this place to any of my friends or co-workers. Ive been a member at the Pikesville location in MD for over 3 years. Became a loyal client of Adrianne because of her expertise and skills. My frustration with the poor customer service skills of the front desk staff has reached the point where I can no longer continue my membership with Massage Envy. The customer service significantly declined over the last 4 to 6 months. I have previously resorted to driving from my house to Pikesville to determine if Massage Envy had closed. Why? Because no one answers the phone for DAYS!!! And no one responds to voice messages left on the answering service. Never complaining that I have 6+ services backed up because I can never make it. The day I finally have time to get a much needed massage and facial.... the massage therapist asked me if I was sick because she claims I sounded sick! I told her I have allergies, it is Georgia EVERYONE suffers with allergies. I have been a member at the Huntersville NC location for over a year. I had a different massage therapist this one was my 4th. She told me I would be sore for a few days, it wasnt a few days it was a week before I actually felt better. I felt like someone had taken a baseball bat & beat me. My back & shoulders hurt so bad I could not lay on my back or sit in my car or desk at work with my back touching against the seat or chair. A day and a half later, I had bruising all over my back BIG bruises Black & Blue. I went into the clinic the same day & showed two of the employees. They agreed they had never seen anything like it before. I was told a manager would call me. It has been a week since my massage & I am still waiting for a manager to contact me. I have tried my location twice in Waco and both times I have been beyond disappointed. The staff has NO training on customer service and only make excuses for mistakes. I requested an additional add on service of the exfoliating foot scrub on my last session and it was completely ignored. Even when I mentioned that they did not preform the service I had requested when I booked my appointment I was simply told...sorry about that. We can do it next time. Well there will be no next time for me. I received a half ass back massage without any other areas being treated and the therapist was sloppy and got lotion in my hair and did they same quality massage I could have received from my 10 year old. I never complain and always give second chances, but this was the second chance and they blew it. There excuse to the poor quality service I received was that I was 5 minutes late for my appointment and that cut into my time. Well I called in advance and my first appointment they had me waiting 30 minutes! I have yet to see this company do anything right when it comes to customer service, planning, or running a smooth business. This place needs an employee overhaul and serious training program. Do not waste your money if you are looking to relax. I walked out more frustrated than when I walked in.

I kept telling every person at message envy that I was moving . I kept asking when is my membership up? they would tell me in may I would say great im moving to another state. Finally, when I got to the end, it charged me DOUBLE. $150 instead of $75. I have called every number I can find and cant get in contact with anyone who can help me. My wife was a paying member of the Coppell, Texas Massage Envy (ME) for over eight (8) years. She paid ME over $6,000 plus gratuities to the therapists. Well, at our senior citizen age, she developed a health issue that prevented her from getting the services she had paid for covering 11 months or $715 paid with NO services received. We attempted to negotiate a compromise to get my wife the 11 massages she had paid for. This attempted compromise was not acceptable to ME Coppell. The manager at ME Coppell wanted my wife to continue to pay OR freeze her membership and receive NO services for 6 months. This manager resigned soon after giving us their decision. The ME Coppell manager told my wife and I, in a face to face meeting, that they really do NOT have customers who stay with ME for 8+ years. So, there you have it, ME does not care - they just want to keep charging your credit card - get your money! To h___ with long term customers!

After filling out cancellation paperwork in March I thought my issues were over. Only to be billed again in May. When I spoke with them I was told I filled out incorrect paperwork and now I was delinquent on my bills (my debit card was stolen therefore cancelled). I called 3 times a week waiting for the Membership Rentsion person to get back to me. I finally gave up until this week (July almost August) and they have the nerve to send me a bill. First of all Mary my therapist was great! My experience was horrible. The therapist and client next door was very loud and rude. My therapist had to knock on the wall for theme to lower their voices. We both reported it to management and nothing was done. I expected compensation and it wasnt given and also I have not received a return call from higher authority. I think the current management and the girls at the front desk need more training they are to young to deal with the type of clients in the area that your located in Bakersfield California. He mentioned to cancel you needed 30 days advance notice. But what he failed to mention anywhere in our conversation was the only way to get out of the first year commitment is with a doctors note. Where in the hell have you ever heard that to cancel you need a doctors note. Granted I signed the document but when you portray everything is beautiful in the world and this is all you need to do to cancel, and you hear those words prior to signing is deceiving and unscrupulous. Mine happened to be a male, which my husband of course didnt want. His was a licensed therapist, I believe her name was Jessica. As I said it was supposed to be a couples massage. Mind you at this time, I was 5 months pregnant. My husband said go ahead and get your massage because you need it and I will go shop around and come back to pick you up. We didnt make a big deal at the time, even though this was one of our 2 days off a month together. I needed one badly. I work 50-60 hours a week in retail and I needed to relax.1. It was supposed to be notated that I was pregnant and it was not.2. It is supposed to be notated that my husband doesnt want a male therapist, it must not be either3. I have told them that we only get 2 days off a month togetherSo here we are in October. I called last week to schedule an appointment for today Tuesday October 8th. We were given an appointment at 1230 for a 90 minute massage. Great! Well this takes the cake! This is my first massage since having our baby in July. This was a planned date day for us. As I mentioned it is 1 of our 2 days off together. I got a babysitter for our baby today. I told the woman on the phone that it wasnt fair for me to continue to be inconvenienced again by their scheduling issues. I explained what had happened last time. She apologized put me on hold. Then someone came on the line asking if my husband minded a Male therapist. I said no, she kept saying hello hello, I kept saying no. She hung up on me. Someone then called me back saying we had gotten disconnected. She explained the male therapist again. I again said no thats not an option. She said unfortunately thats the only option we have available. I told her thats unacceptable and its not fair that I again cant get a couples massage, Ive already arranged for a babysitter(who I still have to pay by the way) and that they better figure something out. She then came back on and said the only other option is at 8pm for 60 minutes. Again I told her thats not acceptable. I told her that we expect our massage at 1230 and if they have to call around to other places thats what they need to do. She said I cant do that but I can have my manager call you. I told her Im expecting a call and I still expect to receive a 90 minute couples massage today. She said she will have the manager call.I work in customer service every single day so I understand things happen. However when they continue to inconvenience the same customer, thats not providing great customer service. An apology isnt enough. My time is important, my quality time with my husband is even more important and my money is important. Today, once again I have been robbed of all 3. As a manager myself, I know how to resolve these issues. Well guess what, I have yet to see this happen from that branch.At the very least I expect if they cant meet our appointment today, that we BOTH receive a free 90 minute couples massage. That is the LEAST that they could do. As I mentioned we are paying members and have been for years. I expect as a member to be treated better then this. Once again, you have ruined our date day and much needed couples massage.

This one star rating isnt because of my massage experience. Its because of my experience with Jason the person in charge of members services. I did not realize that I was signing up for a 12 month contract. For whatever reason, either I wasnt paying attention when it was explained or it wasnt explained properly. I started the conversation with Jason stating that. I was told I could cancel at any time during the conseltation. I was polite with Jason when he called me after I tried to call once before and not being able to leave a voicemail because it wasnt set up yet. The conversation was calm and polite until I realized that Jason wouldnt be able to help me and I asked for his supervisor or someone above him. Thats when it all changed. He then informed me that ,theres no one above me. And if you call any location asking for some one above me theyll just tell you to call me. I told him I didnt believe him. He then asked me, if you had a complaint with AT&T would you get to talk to th C.F.O. or C.E.O.? Then Jason questiond whether or not I could read. And if I could, its all in the contract. I was told I was putting words in his mouth when I would ask a question. He also complained about how long I had him on the phone for. Then told me he wasnt going to cancel the contract. His words were, Im not going to cancel the contract for the reason you gave me. That leads me to believe that there is a reason he wouldve canceled my contract. Just not the reason I gave him because he didnt like it. So that means its personal at that point. Then he said he was terminating the call. I wished Jason to have a good day and ended the call. I wish I wouldve checked the ratings online before I went to this establishment. If the owner is reading this, let me ask you a question. At this point do you really want my business? Im an unhappy customer who wants nothing to do with your business anymore. Why would you want someone who doesnt want to be there to keep coming back? The whole point of your business is to relieve stress. The mear thought of stepping foot into your establishment again stresses me out. And now Im to understand that I have to keep paying $60 a month for a service that I wont be using. Forget my original reason for wanting to cancel. At this point I dont feel comfortable using your services or being at any location at all. Because according to Jason, hes in charge and no one is above him.

Message envy is a trapped contract. What we thought was a signed form for recieving lower rates was actually a signed contract for 6 or 12 months that of which cant be canceled at any time and if so you have to have a doctors note or move away. If thats the case then you should have a doctors note to get in we are not coming there for doctors reasons we are coming there for relaxation and no worries. After arguing with a manager for 30 minutes she finally canceled our accounts. Yourcompany is misleading and when your staff does not inform customers of what they are actually signing then you should stand by what your customers were told at the time of signing and do what they ask and not argue and continue to charge peoples accounts. You now will have 2 less customers and yet another bad review!

Received a gift card for $50 for xmas of 2012. Sitting in my gift card drawer unused still in the envelope I decided to call to set up an appointment and use it. I asked for the exact balance on the card and gave them the code. The card does not exist and is invalid and the person was unable to help me. She thanked me for some reason and then hung up. I called corporate office but it is impossible to get through to them. What a waste, and I feel bad for the person who bought this for me as a gift.

I relocated to Montreal (Canada) several months ago. I attempted to cancel my membership at the Rock Springs location in Las Vegas since there are no locations here. I have been given the run around for several weeks along with various responses / excuses from the staff. I was told to provide an address - which I did. I was later told to provide a bill. I provided my lease. I have also notified the bank that I have rescinded authorization to debit my account any further for this service. I welcome them to go through the collection process so we can take it to arbitration. Their practices are OUTRAGEOUS and should be investigated by the CFPB!!!!

I am extremely disappointed with this company. After having my first massage at Massage Envy in Maryland, and actually enjoying my experience, I find out I was not fully informed by their employees who by the way insisted that I listen to her and not read the contract (a mistake on my part). But the fact remains that I have been unable to receive any help from the location and to make matters worse, Ive also been unable to reach a customer service line that has actually answered the phone. So my review is no longer a 5 star, its nonexistent. I must say I am very disappointed with corporate. Two days of calling and no one has even picked up the phone. Nor returned my emails... I only had a few questions. Mind you i have been a member for 7 going on 8 years. Massage envy location in Garwood New Jersey and Staten island location have been a God sent!!! The staff is wonderful. The therapists are AWESOME!!! The only problem is corporate.... Wonder what they do all day that NO ONE EVER PICKS UP!!! 🤔

I just called because my wife received a gift card at Christmas and we thought it would be nice to have a side-by-side massage. I called and booked the massage and was told the $39.99/hr massage was for members and new customers only. Therefore, if you have visited before like we had and are not members, the price is $79.99/1hr. I do love a good massage but I doubt I could relax for an hour knowing I was paying $79.99 per person. My wifes gift card was purchased as a new customer so, we would have to pay the $40.00 difference for her massage too.I think well just let her use her gift card for a bottle of water, slice of cucumber and a couple pieces of gravel....

I am totally annoyed with ME. I moved and was no longer able to pay for this luxury. I let them know and my acct was put on a,freeze. I have ten pd sessions I need to use within per manager 90 days, but on cancelation form it has 60.I have my sisters and mom who I wish to transfer my sessions to. But Im told I can only use one person a month. So please tell me how Im going to use all my sessions in a short period of time!! I think its unfair that yall try to cause ppl to lose their money. I need to cancel my membership by next week before freeze is lifted. But I may lose what $700?!!!because I pd 70 a month!!!!! This need to be corrected. I have been a member for years 8plus my card on file got freud. Not my problem. Massage envoy missed on $55 payment in those years. Not to mention i have 18 paid for in advance but will not let me get a massage while i am out of town without a new card. Thats $1000 plus dollars i have paid this company or no service yet they wont allow me to get a massage until i update my card. Was nice paying this worthly company for so long. Unauthorized charges to my credit card. Manager at Texas location argued with me every time I went in about signing up for wellness program. I declined each time and he charged my card on file anyway. Cancelled an appt with a female week in advance but manager tried to say he confirmed with me. On three occasions I tried to get name and contact for manager, franchise owner and corporate and all three times they refused to provide it.

I am giving them 1 star only because I had to in order to write this review. I came down with the flu and called to cancel my appointment in consideration of other members and staff; however, I was told that I would be charged for the massage anyway since I was calling with less than 24 hours notice. I called at 9 am and my appointment was at 5:30. Yes it was less than 24 hours but I have not doubt that the time slot would have been filled quickly with another member appointment. The staff actually preferred that I keep my appointment and did not at all seem concerned with my spreading the flu to its staff or members. I was not super thrilled with the quality of the massages at Massage Envy (never start on time but always finish on time, massage was haphazard and inconsistent from one side of my body to the other) and this has just tipped me over the edge. I will never go back to Massage Envy and will write a negative review on every social media outlet available. Dont waste your money.

I want to start off by saying that my Massage Therapists were amazing, and probably under paid. That being said the CM at my home location is beyond rude and unprofessional. I called and emailed to resolve the issue that I had. She either lacks reading comprehension or compassion, or both really. She kept repeating herself over and over, saying that she was right- when she wasnt understanding what I was saying. When asked if I could speak to the Franchise Owner, we were told that was not possible. When asked if there was anyone above her I could speak to, she told me there was no one above her except the franchise owner who I couldnt contact. I called another ME location and they said that wasnt true. They attempted to get the information for me, and they wouldnt give them the information. The other location gave me corporates number. I attempted to contact corporate. I never got ahold of anyone and no one returned my voicemail. I am trying to cancel mine and my husbands accounts and now my email is sitting in QUEUE probably not going to be processed. I want to be done with this.

My husband and I went to have a couples massage in Florida, We have always enjoyed going so much that while living in Georgia we were members. When I called to schedule I asked who would be giving us the massages and I was told a man and a woman. When we arrived and was called back I was very upset and shocked. My massage therapist was a transvestite. I was so shocked and upset that i wanted to cry. I did not want to embarrass myself or the therapist so i did not say anything. I am not judging but I was told that we would have a man and woman which which was a Lie. while having my massage the therapist pulled as hard as it could on my hair, making me come to tears. The two therapist talked through our entire session. My husbands therapist did not even target his issues. When i got up to dress my hair was pulled so hard that there was hair on the sheet.I called to complain and was told that we could come back for another session but that my husbands would not be free but that they would give him a discount. I then called back the day of appointment and asked how much it would be so i could go by the bank but i was told by the Assistant Manager Austin that i would not have to pay anything that it was all covered. I asked him to make sure and he assured me that there would not be a charge. when we left the appointment the receptionist told me that I owed fifty dollars. If I could leave 5 negative stars I would. I had my very first appointment on Saturday 22nd at 7:00pm at the Alameda South Shore Center in Alameda, CA. And when I arrived,I was told that my massage therapist Winnie had called in sick and that the supervisor or manager Bri had called me and left me a message earlier in the morning. There is NO MESSAGE because Bri NEVER called. They did not offer a solution, instead they said sorry and we will have our manager contact you to reschedule. Called several more times and no one was willing to look or ask around for it. Could not get manager to call me. Front office staff was unprofessional. I am a member in Gahanna Ohio. BEWARE OF MASSAGE ENVY, SIMPSONVILLE, SC, LOCATION!!!!I had a terrible experience with Massage Envy. Instead of getting 1 hour massage, I got 40 minutes for the price of 1 hour. The front desk talked me in, to sign a membership contract without even explaining it in details, and it was before even receiving a massage. The Massage Therapist was with very slow lazy movements. I asked Massage Envy to cancel my membership, but they didnt. I had only one massage with them, which was the first and the last. Massage Envy kept charging me for about 7 month in the amount of $708, for nothing. I spoke with Becky, the manager, at the front desk about removal of fees. Becky was so unprofessional, rude and mean, making things up. NEVER GO TO MASSAGE ENVY, SIMPSONVILLE, SC LOCATION. THEY ARE RIP OFF.

We made appointments for massages for both my spouse and me. Wish I read these reviews prior. They refused to give my husband a massage because he was a cancer patient receiving radiation (Proton) treatment. Told him it was policy. This was after the therapist had him in the room inquiring about his aches and pains. The therapist consulted with the manager and they came back with policy. The association of professional massage therapist published an article back in 2013 explaining how external radiation has no effect on the therapist and questions to ask clients undergoing XRT to best serve them and the benefits of massage for these patients. The problem with MASSAGE ENVY is they are not a skilled massage therapy provider in the profession AND they discredit the skilled therapist that work there. They made my husband feel damaged due to their ignorance. Never going to them again. Was a member but not anymore! Pretty unconscionable way to do business...

I was in employee and it was the worst job I’ve ever encountered. My supervisor bluntly lied on me. I sort of felt like it was gangs at work. The unprofessionalism that they treated these clients I wasn’t happy with. I’ve told their supervisors and nothing was done I wasn’t even given an apology. The frustration we felt from something that was an oversight from them was real. Providing add ons at a later date does not fix the situation when you only have one day, and you built that day around massages

In the end they took my money but never set the gift as selected. I try to call and NEVER get to speak to a person. I ALWAYS have to leave messages. I send emails NEVER getting a response. Ordered a gift card online and the site crashed. I tried again and the same issue, no receipt was sent to my email so i assumed i wasnt charged, but was charged for both attempts. I called customer service, multiple times, no answer and the voicemail box was full. I had to file a claim with my bank to force a refund. Still have not gotten a response from Massage Envy.

Buyer Beware!!I got injured by Massage Envy because they use dangerous stretching techniques. The therapist stretched so hard on my hands & wrists that my ligaments were torn.- Please see the photos of my hands belowNow I have nerve damage in my thumbs & fingers which causes me considerable chronic pain. I tried talking to the owners but they kept interrupting me and insisting that their methods are perfectly safe. Not once did they ever apologize for what they did.I will never go back there. I was utterly shocked when i was told that im locked in a 12 month Contract and could not cancel unless i move 25 miles away from a ME location or give a doctors Note. I received a $90.00 gift card for Christmas from my family that paid cash for it from the location at Mayfaire Town Center in Wilmington, N.C.. I went to set up an appointment and they wanted my credit card to set the appointment. I stated you can hold the gift certificate I am not giving my personal and private information for a pre-paid service, this is called an attempt to coerce and coercion in gaining your personal and private banking information and is unlawful. I asked for the corporate number and they gave me a number that didnt work. I called back a few days later and spoke to an assistant manager named Lesherla, that stated it was their policy to obtain the credit card number. Then the suggested I try the other Spa Envy location on the other side of town, but I would still have to give them my personal and private banking information. My next step is the State Attorney General, consumer protection division. The facts are they sell pre-paid gift certificates and unlawfully coerce you to give personal private financial to use it and/or refuse to redeem or refund prepaid services.

The Owings Mills, MD location is a mess. The first time I went they had first opened and it was fine. I called and made a 2nd appointment. The day before the appointment I get a call saying they need my credit card information. I told them with all the fraud out there I’m not comfortable giving this over the phone but will be happy to provide it when I come in for my appointment. The representative said that was fine and they would keep my appointment. I decide to call and confirm before I drive there and I’m glad I did. They CANCELED my appointment! The representative, Nia, said they needed my credit card info so they had to cancel. I told them about the conversation I had the day before and she said that didn’t matter because it was against their policy. I asked to speak to a manager both times and was told they didn’t have on onsite. Nia also said there was a note in the system that I was rude to the prior representative which I completely disagree. I asked Nia if she thought I was being rude because it’s the same way I spoke with the prior representative. Nia said I wasn’t rude. Although when I asked for the regional manager’s info twice she said she couldn’t give that out and then hung up on me.They obviously don’t know what they’re doing at this place. I had heard bad things about them but I tried it anyway. Oh well. I’ll stick to a more reputable place.I was given a gift card for Father’s Day that I will have the person that gave it to me get a full refund.

I needed a last minute gift and my wife told me she wanted to be pampered so I looked up the #1 massage company and Massage Envy is what came up, and Im very glad it was suggested! The people were great and the massage was fantastic, not to mention how great the price was!With that said I would like to comment about all of the other reviews I have read regarding Massage Envy. I understand as humans we have certain expectations when it comes to how we should be treated by companies, especially large chain companies such as Massage Envy, but it disheartens me that people who have the time and the money to spend on a luxury convenience dont have a bit of understanding in their hearts. Just about every single one of the problems could have been solved with good communication and understanding on the consumers part. If you think that a company deserves one star because the was a misunderstanding, then you shouldnt be allowed to write a review. Think about this the next time you post, what if someone put a 1 star on your companys website, simply because the customer didnt understand something. How would that affect you and your business. Truth be told you will only ever hear about the bad because the people who write the bad are generally in the wrong. Its why companies have to have rules and regulations in place.So anyone thinking that Massage Envy deserves anything less than a 5 Star can go to another massage or spa business, because quite frankly we dont need your negativity at our favorite massage/spa chain!

I had such a horrible experience with the location associated with Massage Envy in farmingdale,NY. I posted a long review about my experience and it’s worth a read before considering to ever go to any massage envy location. It’ll make you read the reviews and think twice! I reached out to the ME massage corporate office by phone and hit a dead end , so I decided to email them yesterday . I received an automated response. The corporate office made sure to make known in the auto response the independence of each ME. It stated “We know how important every member and guest is to each of the independently owned and operated franchised locations”. Caring for guest and customer...I don’t think so.What you should note is that every wrong doing and lies each facility is doing to guest and customers is not only a bad view on the independently owned facility itself but it is also a bad representation of the corporate office. They are the face of YOUR company name. ME corporate office will probably just sit back and let the corrupt independently owned Facilities continue ruining their name using that independently owned verbiage to show their hands are clean hands. Ha! I don’t think so...No response yet from the corporate office so I’ll wait to see what actions they will take against Massage Envy in Farmingdale,NY. I came in using a gift card that was given to me as a Christmas present in 2015 the lady (manager ) in the front desk was very pushy to get a membership with Massage Envy I kept saying no and she was very pushy at the end she gave me a proposition of trying it out for 3 months, if I didnt like the membership I can call and get it cancelled but when I called to get it cancelled three months later they told me i had to come in in person, so i came in and l requested to speak to the manager that gave me the option, and I heard her tell the front desk to tell me she was gone I kept asking to please cancel the membership because I dont have the time and money to continue paying this they were very insistive in keeping my account and would not cancel my membership they are a fraud and get people into signing up with their little specials and there one-time-only ordeal!! They sent me an email stating they were going to send me to collections which I do not understand why I will be sent to collections when I do not owe any money because there was no services rendered in the last 4 months if anything they owe me $50 because they took one payment out of my account. I lost my CC and that is why they havent taken a payment out. 😠😠😠 i need something to be done about this ASAP!!!

My home location is WONDERFUL in Plainfield, IL! I however have an issue with the corporate office. I created a login account so I could book online. It never worked. I called and made my appointment. After my appointment I became a member, and ever since then, I have two accounts, and all my information is linked to the account that I CAN NOT access. I have been in contact with the same person from the corporate office, and I keep getting the same answer, “have someone from your home location submit a help desk ticket.” THEY HAVE DONE THAT MULTIPLE TIMES. It has not resolved the problem. This has been ongoing for a month and a half! I’m frustrated I can’t book online or even view my rewards. My account is in good standing. Whoever handles this tech stuff obviously doesn’t know what they’re doing, and needs more training!

I’ve been a member for years and liked the flexibility of multiple locations around the country due to work travel and frequent relocation. The past few years I have accrued many credits due to pandemic and then retirement and moving. Despite trying over and over and re-downloading the ME application, it doesn’t work at all and NO ONE answers the phones at the locations I use,,, but despite this, the answering message instructs you to book on line 🤬 The only way I have been able to get an appointment is by going in, which is extremely inconvenient. In the past the service has always been good but trying to get an appointment has become so difficult I regret ever signing up for this. It would cost me less in the long run to go to a high priced spa. I’m so disappointed and feel like they have my money, I can never be refunded so they just don’t care.

If I could put a zero, I would.I signed up 3 years ago with ME in Clackamas, OR, as I was having issues with my neck/shoulders/back.The first therapist, a guy, would not stop putting extreme pressure on me when I kept telling him it HURT!I actually ended up at the doctors because he had caused major issues. I called ME and was told, sorry, feel free to try another therapist!Since I truly needed a GOOD massage, a few weeks later when I was healed up from the guy, I went and saw Ashley. She was WONDERFUL and made me feel a lot better, so as I checked out, I was pressured into saving money by signing up for a membership!Being I was having chronic pain, I decided to do that, since the savings was quite large at that time.I found a second AWESOME therapist named Kelsie, who was phenomenal!Still love Ashley, but her schedule is very hard for me to get in.Let me add here, that I am an hour away from them, (the closest), so it is not an east feat for me to get there.So, for the next couple years, things went fairly well, other than them losing a wonderful front desk worker named Terry, who I am thinking saw the shifty practices the ME has, so left.So far since, I have not had a good front desk person, and the clincher for me was when I tried to cancel my account earlier this year because I had had major surgery and was unable to use my massages, and had accumulated 6 of them, I was told if I did that, I could not use my massages after 30 days and would lose them, so I was told to put a freeze on my account. I was also told I needed a doctors note????? WHY?HOWEVER! During the freeze, even tho I had 6 PAID FOR massages, I COULD NOT use them!SO, I froze my account after a very long time of arguing with the so called manager, just so that I wouldnt keep being charged!I started it back up a few months ago, and have only been able to get in to see my therapist ONE TIME because her schedule is full! ?????Extremely hard to get appointments and I KNOW that my gal has time as she told me!One time I made an appointment, drove an hour to get to it, just to be told it was on a different DAY???? No, I know it wasnt, because I had written it down in my appointment book as she told me and she saw me do it!Now that I have massages accumulated, its nigh impossible to get in!Well, the straw that broke the camels back now, is that I traveled to Redmond, OR for some away time after the death of my Mother in law suddenly; called the ME in Bend on 7-29-16 to make an appointment and use one of my massages that were building up again since I cant seem to ever get in! We are only in the area until 8-5 or 6, 2016, so the gal who answered made my appointment for 8-2 at 1 PM with a Corrina.We drive 23 miles to get there, I walk in and tell them who I am and am there for my appointment.The woman at the desk types in some things, looks at me, and says Im sorry, its for next week the NINTH!!!!WHAT THE ^@%$#*!#@?????I told her that was IMPOSSIBLE since we wont even BE in the area the ninth!She was flippant and was like, Oh, Im sorry. We can get you in for tomorrow. WHAT????? I just drove 23 miles ONE WAY to get a massage I set for THAT DAY, and you want me to come back???Well, I walked clear over to where my husband was, told him what happened, we are TOTALLY disgusted with ME; so he says, well, I know you need a massage so see what they can to tomorrow. I called, Oh, we can get you in TOMORROW NIGHT at 6 or 6:30.REALLY? Dinner time, heavy traffic and we have other plans!SO? I called the so called Corporate number? Never ever go to Massage Envy. They do steal your money. You have to use every massage/facial within THEIR timeline, not yours. The front desk says one thing, the manager says another. NEVER give them a credit card or any information. They will charge you without your consent. I have contacted the Attorney Generals office in Colorado. Called the office in Spokane wa and was told its for the monthly membership i was unaware of that i supposedly singed as part of the 6 month membership. And they will be taking another $65 tomorrow! I have been a customer for over 3 years at the Hyde Park, Cincinnati ME with the same masseuse! Love her!!! Recently, every time I show up they have me scheduled with a different masseuse. When I ask what is going on, they stammer and make excuses. They LIE and say they tried calling me (I have a Smart phone and have no record of missed calls or message), there was a mix up, etc. When I asked to have the manager call me . . . nothing! I have two calls into the location and no response. Just tell me if my masseuse has left and we can go from there. I HATE BEING MANIPULATED AND LIED TO!

I had a medical emergency one morning and had to reschedule, and they are going to charge me 50% of my appointment. Unreal. Whatever you do - do NOT get hooked into the “membership” plan. They make it sound SO good Before you sign up - but what they don’t tell you (but is in the fine print of contract) is that if you let them accumulate and then want to end the contract - they only give you a short time period to use all the ones you already paid for! So if you can’t get them all in before time runs out - you lose them! Also, even though they make it sound like you can go use your membership anywhere - if you move to another state as I have- they can stick it to you (once again in the fine print) to cough up more $$$ money $$$ saying it’s their “area cost” or some other nonsense. Review for corporate office:Prime example of a good idea gone wrong. I have to agree with some review postings, an hour or ninety minute massage will aways be fifteen to twenty minutes less. Appointments are booked close together so your one hour includes setup and departure. Not good business practice.I am a customer myself and deal with this every session. I enjoy the massages but I am not supporting a company that does not place employees first.Employees make or break a successful franchise. I think that management and CEO are not concerned about bad reviews and employee turnover. Horrible Experiance today at the Weston Florida location I call to see if they did foot massage for my 95 year old grandmother , they said that they where able to do so, I told the girl at the counter that will be great and told her we live here I be there in 10 minutes. She said ok. When I got there she makes an appointment to see her in 1hr? I could not believe I just drove there with my grandmother . I told her you could have said to me over the phone . After calling the local office and the corporate customer service number MULTIPLE times with no return call, I tried to reach the executive office and left messages for the Chief Commercial Officer Beth Stiller who did not respond. I also attempted to reach the CEO Joe Magnacca however, he is not listed in the phone directory...wonder why. I guess I shouldnt be surprised given all of the other reviews. I live in Lakeville, MN. Tried to schedule with Massage Envy due to extreme pain. I worked in several areas of the country including Philladelphia, Ohio, Pittsburgh, and Arizona. Same scenario in every area of the country with Massage Envy. I tried to schedule on line and waited two hours. The message said I would be contacted shortly, and assumed it would be by phone....not. So tonight was the night for my prenatal massage that I have been looking forward to for weeks. It took many calls and different locations to find a date and time that fit for me. So tonight I drove through the obnoxious Short Pump traffic to get here (Massage Envy). As Im filling out my paper work it then says if you are a high risk pregnancy you need a doctors note. So obviously I confronted them about this and asked why they didnt find it necessary to tell me this the TWO times I spoke to them prior to this appointment. The manager working claims it violates hipaa law. Not only am I pissed and upset but I am so entertained as why this business believes thats illegal. If you know a pregnant woman is coming to see one of their specialist for a prenatal massage then it is more than okay to say hey if your high risk you will need a doctors note. That is in no way shape or form asking for medical answers via phone. Just the thought of how many women moved things around , got sitters and took time off just to get here to get turned away is mind boggling. So yes I will take my money and go else where. No I dont want to reschedule I know its a sensitive time for me but I am beyond upset and pissed. Cooperate will be contacted. Being pregnant and stressed as it is having to deal with this helps nothing.

I use the massage envy in staten island and have been going since they opened... from time to time there is a problem i overlooked them all because they are useally minor or easily fixed. my biggest problem is finding a therapist that can do a massage the way i like which is deep tissue and a lot of pressure. last week i went for a 1 1/2 hour massage with my regular girl. She did a great job as always... but as i got up to leave she said to me since you seem to struggle with tipping here is a lovely chart for you to follow. I was mortified to say the least. I am on disability and am finding it hard to keep my membership as it is... but i keep it because it is the only thing that keeps my pain in check.. so that is why i build up and save my sessions for emergencies... when i go to get one i am usually doubled over and in severe pain and i give what i can afford that week. i thought the tipping chart was suggested... I will never use her again and am seriously thinking of cancelling my membership. i filled out a servey and said everything i said here and i was contacted by management via email all they said was sorry and she would be addressed oh and they will be happy to get me a new therapist... unbelievable im not happy

I’ve been a loyal member for 2 years. I have never been hurt by a therapist before because they always take protocol precautions to warm up the tissue on my back before going so deep.
