First time visiting BLK live. Came here for a concert. we ate at the restaurant and had the Kobe beef burger and it was delightful and very juicy. The drink selection was amazing and the cost for quite reasonable. Parking is a little limited around this location. Having a pool in the middle of the seating area was entertaining but does consume a lot of vital space. The Cabanas were additional price for the event. I would consider coming here again for another concert.
Lovely bar but was super confused about how half is a club type venue with a concert and other half is just the bar.. so ended up paying $20 for nothing... but in that aspect how neat to have this right by the Scottsdale Quarters and have the small concerts in an outdoor setting! Would check it out again definitely
This was a special event, so I didnt get a good idea of the regular menu, but the food at the buffet was great. The layout is unique, with a well appointed interior, and a pool and stage outside, and covered cabanas near the pool. I especially liked the outside bar with the thatched roof. Very fun venue
Love BLK Live. Great venue, awesome sound system, and friendly staff. They bring in all kinds of musical genres, but my favorites have been the Hair Bands from the late 80s. I believe their prices are more than reasonable. Before you make a negative comment, keep in mind what drink and ticket prices are at Marquee, the Van Buren, Comerica, and Ak Chin amphitheater. They are bringing in National acts. Lets keep this place alive.
I havent even gotten my food yet and Im sure my rating wouldnt be any better. Ppl seem to forget thats its all in how u treat ppl. At the door, the folks were very pleasant, for the Morris Day Concert. At the bar however, both bartenders overlooked and passed me a few times without asking what or if I needed anything, at least throwing me a menu. I wanted the food menu and had to call the guy myself to just get that. Then, he thought a random convo was more important than actually taking my order... never came back to see if I needed anything. Once again, I had to get his attn to order the food. Rudeness and not welcoming at all, would never come back. Only here for the sake of my love for Prince. Cool looking venue tho.
I am generally not a fan of Scottsdale clubs, but they had a band I grew up enjoying for a good price, so I decided to give it a visit.Pleasantly surprised! The staff were all friendly and professional; They seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. The stage is a bit close to the pool, which is probably a great thing in the summer, but less than ideal in the winter. It is an open-air venue, but they thoughtfully had heaters out. Sound was good.I didnt order anything from the dinner menu, so Im skipping over that. After the show they have a reverse happy hour and this is a good thing! Prices ranged from around $8-10 for the appetizers, which is fairly typical for bar food. What was not typical is the quality. The restaurant portion specializes in high quality beef. The portions are not especially large, but it tastes great. They also have Jameson as their well whiskey and it is only $4 during happy hour ($8 on the dinner menu).I plan on returning for future shows.
Loved the venue for music. Did not like that you can only get crappy testing wine while outside. Really bad! :). Inside totally different story. Many kinds available and the one I had was delicious. Suggestion 2: Rained hard during our concert so they canceled it midway. :( . : Wish the facility had a cover for the bands so they could continue playing and we could still enjoy outside, since its a very cool place to see concerts even in the pouring rain. :) We were sad that we only got to hear 1/2 of concert. One more thing.. Service very very friendly!! All of the buses, managers and servers. Great attitudes!
Awesome venue! Has two stages one indoor one outdoor, a full service restaurant with a gorgeous bar and very nice decor. The service was great did not feel like I was being overlooked or ignored with bartenders. The venue also includes a swimming pool so bring your bathing suit if youre there for a show! The pool area has private Cabanas that you can rent out . We had a great time!
Personally, I really enjoyed the venue. That being said, the tickets I saw were quite pricey for what it has to offer a concert goer. The pools are cool, but take up prime real estate for a show. I was fine being in the back and loved having access to a full rear bar. We had a great experience and would come back if tickets are fairly priced, considering band and accommodations.
Where else can you see bands like Warrant, Sebastian Bach from Skid Row, Firehouse, John Waite from The Baby’s, Winger. Can’t forget our favorite local band Dierdre also!! All of these cool bands are still touring and killing it. The sound system at this venue is excellent, with the sound man George that is always taking care of business. Up close and personal is the greatest way to see any band, and this is the place to do it at. Great food, good drinks, fantastic music, and a staff that is on top of everything. This is the place you want to be !!!! Great atmosphere, never any issues at this venue. No fights, no hassles that I have ever seen. Been going for a year now. Thanks to everyone at Blk Live.
We went to BLK Live for the first time last night. We saw the band Beach Viper, who played great classic rock as well as some of their original material. The band was very enthusiastic and entertaining. The venue was clean and classy and the staff friendly and professional. Didnt have an opportunity to try any of the food. I would definitely go back.
This place is awesome, its like going to someones house and having a party in the backyard by the pool. Very very nice with excellent upkeep. Extremely high class, no dress code and drink minimum. This place makes you feel special and at home. Thank you so much for bringing in 80s metal kick ass bands!
We love this venue, one of our favorites for live bands. They bring in such a great music Ive enjoyed a great, variety of rock, alternative, and some old school hip hop. So why only the 4 stars? This place gets real busy but they have to keep up on cleanliness. The womens bathroom is horrible every time Ive been here.
Nice place. As others have mentioned, the stage setup is a bit different. If you stand in front if the stage youre on the edge of the pool, and standing room is limited. The atmosphere manages to be both upscale and a laid back like a pool party. Great place to enjoy drinks with friends and be entertained.
Good food, drinks and service. I like the open air design, but Im not a fan of the pool placement in relation to the stage for concerts. It shoves the audience over to one side and leaves a big open space right in the middle. I suppose the pool is neat for a summer concert, but Ive only been in the winter.
Nice restaurant. Some meals were quite reasonably priced others were not. Our order was lost and we had to bring it to the manager’s attention as our server was not aware that we had been waiting a long time. The venue for live music is unusual in that the best seats would otherwise be were a large swimming pool sits. There are still lots of good seats on the sides but the sound isn’t as good as it would be in the middle. Hats off to the venue for bringing in some high quality acts at very inexpensive prices ($15 - $40 seems to be the range).Would go back again when they have a performer I want to see.
We saw a great show here but thats to be expected. BLK is great concert venue. I mean it even has a pool. But what surprised me was the food. We thought we would eat there because it would be convenient for the concert and that it would be typical bar food or even worse horrible venue food. To my delight it was neither. The food and service was so good the we will be coming back frequently even without going to a show. One tip you will thank me for is that the brussel sprouts are a must try. Oh they are so good.
I came here because vettix hooked us up with tickets to see Arch Allies. We enjoyed some food before the show. I was DD, so my buddies got enjoy the fermented and distilled liquids. I did not need a large meal, so I settled on the tuna tower. It is pictured with this review. It took a fairly long time to get my food. It was worth the wait. The tuna was fresh and the other ingredients complimented perfectly. We finished our meal and spent some time at the bar. I eyeballed the Louis XIII, yet balked at the price per serving. One of my buddies almost ordered a round before we convinced him otherwise. The performance area for the band was a great venue. The multiple bars in the BLK live make it real convenient to order and enjoy your drinks. The small stage and setup allowed us to get right near the stage. We even met a lovely lady affectionately called Glue. It was a great evening meeting new people and enjoying amazing music. Thanks Scottsdale.
I saw Morris Day and The Time here. Of course, the concert was amazing but this review is for BLK Live. I had a phenomenal time! The staff was absolutely amazing! The only thing that could have been better was more seating, and I had to steal parking across the street, which I didnt really mind, but I loved the setting and would go to another concert there. More R&B please!
Part if a reggae show here about a year ago, at the time it was a great venue, but it has become difficult to set up events now. As for the atmosphere it has a lounge restaurant indoor part and pool with cabanas and tables at back of club. The venue is a great facility but for the moment we are setting events elsewhere as it has become troublesome to work with ownership.
LIVE music and a POOL! If you haven’t been to a live concert at BLK Live, you’re missing out! There’s cabanas you can rent and day beds that sit right next to the pool. They have all types of music, along with a restaurant that has some of the best food I’ve EVER had! Don’t miss out on a GREAT time! And, the staff is great!
Attended 3 shows and all 3 times its been AWESOME!!!!!!!Motorcycle Parking out front, Where it should be.Security is cool, waiters and Bartenders are quick to help and serve us. Overall Awesome Experiance! They treat you like Friends and not like they just want your Money! Good Staff, Good Crew. Nice Quaint outdoor venues! We Saw Puddle of Mudd, Saving Abel, and Quiet Riot! ROCKED OUT!!!!!!We were NOT Disappointed!
Takes forever to get whatever you order. The food is overpriced but its a concert venue so thats normal. The pool right in the middle of crowd area is very annoying in the winter. There isnt a lot of standing room outside because of it. The speakers are extremely loud so if you have sensitive hearing bring ear plugs. Not a bad venue but no seating unless at the bar or you pay lots extra.
We absolutely LOVE this place. the staff, the food, the drinks, the prices and the live music. So far weve seen about 7 shows here and every time we come, we look forward to the next time. The atmosphere and décor are also very will done. This place deserves to do well and we hope theyre around for a long time. and yes Im a real customer.
Took my friend here to see Jack Russell of Great White. It was an awesome show. The venue is very cool. We stood about 15 feet from the stage, then wandered about 10 more feet to the bar. It was a lot of fun and very different from other concerts Ive been to. I will go here again. I dont recall how much the drinks cost, but I remember I bought a lot of them.
Interesting venue choice for a February concert. It was my first visit and I didnt know it was outdoors. Theres a pool running through the middle area and heat lamps were set out but it was still cold (couldnt get close enough to a lamp). Sound was decent but drinks were a bit pricey. Very small parking lot was full when I arrived. Luckily I found a spot on a packed neighboring side street (check the signs! Parking isnt allowed for the full length of the street!).
Would have been more fun if they hadnt put the stage so close to the pool just to keep people out of VIP. Seemed a bit dangerous to have people at a concert pushed up against the pool like that. Couldnt have a good time knowing you couldnt dance as much in fear that you might fall in our push someone else in. The only reason I dont give it a 1 star is the staff and bartenders were very very polite and never ignored you.
This is so awesome! An amazing 2 stages. One is indoors and one outdoors, by the pool and a huge pool at that. So you can see nationals bands in the pool of the warm Arizona weather or if it gets to warm in the air conditioning inside! This place is a win win for all. 3 bars, so their is no waiting for any kind of drinks! A 5 star diner oh yes and on Sunday there are 2 types of brunches that you can go for and it is all you can eat or drop 1st your choice enjoy the taste of the fine eatery. And if you go to an amazing show that they are producing, they will open up the restaurant as well, so come in early and eat some great food before the show!
Came here with some friends recently for a night pool party to see ghastly preform. They had a cute small pool, bunch of seating and you could smoke freely. They have two bars outside which is nice but once it hit midnight the bar tenders were ignoring the heck out of my group and others that have been waiting for a drink for a while. Not even a $100 caught their attention, i tried just about anything, way to waste a night. When I looked up the info on what we can and cant bring and all it said was no backpacks and no large purses. The first thing when we walked up to the line I was stopped and told i cant bring my purse into the venue along with many other women. Finally they say I can bring my purse in but I have to leave it at the front(but once you leave it there you cant go back to your belongings unless your leaving, keep in mind I have all of my friends stuff in my SMALL purse) and as I was being checked in before I could get to the desk the man wanted to take my purse for me (which was very uncomfortable), I had to pull my stuff out that I needed for the night. Once I made it to the desk I asked the woman how she runs the purse station and if my belongings go missing if they take any liability and she said no. So Im officially at a pool party with my belongs loose and about as Im trying to enjoy the night surrounded by water. They even wanted to take away some of the males wallets!!! Very uncomfortable, put better information up and nicer bartenders!!
Amazing venue tucked neatly away near the Scottsdale Quarters. I mustve driven past this place 100 times. The venue doesnt look that big from the outside but its big enough for a large pool, a stage, VIP sections, a taco stand and of course the bar. I went on Reggae night and the place was packed but still enough elbow room to shake your tail feather. I would recommend.
I watched the band Drop Diesel and Puddle Of Mud. It was a fantastic concert and the club venue at BLK LIVE was phenomenal. I loved the cool vibe and the pool was so beautiful. If you havent seen Drop Diesel, you are missing out on great music by talented musicians and a great vocalist. Puddle Of Mud rocked with great energy, cranking out song after song. I hope to see both bands again soon.
Marko is an awesome bartender. Great personality and a real funny guy. The general manager, Rocco, is very nice and accommodating. A true gentleman and excellent GM. Bruno and Jared and Sheridan and everybody else are fantastic people. I love this place. Thumbs up all the way.
The food was delicious, the bar staff amazing. The hostesses and waitresses leave A LOT to be desired. The concert venue is outside, standing only with a few high tops. We were outside for the concert for 4 hours before a waitress even stopped to ask if we needed anything.
As for going to see a concert there I will say its not a bad place except for the pool. It seems to be a waste of space. Other people who were there were wondering why they had a pool in front of the stage. The staff was fast with getting to your order. Everyone I encountered was very polite and nice. BLK Live should decide what they want to be. A concert venue or a hosting pool partys. Get rid of the pool in my opinion.
This place is awesome for watching live music!! Drink service was a little slow. They either need to hire more help or keep both bars open. I love sitting by the pool with my feet in. All staff were really nice!
The sound is not that great. Ive seen two bands here and both times the sound was either 1) bass line is imbalancedly heavy 2) muffled sounds 3) vocals unclear. The atmosphere is great for live music, but the sound really needs to be cleaner. As it stands, I definitely will not be back to see any band I enjoy and have their sound tainted by the quality here.
Pretty cool place. I saw Vixen here. Its a good venue but the pool in the middle seems sort of awkward. I guess they have pool parties but for a concert, it just seems odd to have a pool take up half of the front of the stage. The drinks were good, not cheap but not expensive. The overall experience was good. I will be back.
Absolute great venue wonderful place to have a concert service was wonderful and pleasant responsive laid back yet elegant. After the concert DJ did not such a good job, played a completely different johndra then the concert that was hosted. It cleared out the crowd. Had to leave early with date, wasnt as flexible and eclectic as I am
It is a cool venue for seeing shows. A little hot outside during the summer (but they have a pool if you want to get wet.).The real problem is the sound. I have been to shows there 3 or 4 times and only once was the sound mixed properly. One other side issue is the lack of communication. They never publish set times and no one working there seems to know what they are. Or the number of bands. Or which line someone should stand in. The venue just seems poorly managed.
Came here before 6:00 when it said they had Happy Hour for $4 well drinks and draft beer. Ordered both and was charged $17. Asked about Happy Hour and was told it was only in the restaurant. Nowhere on the website does it say this. I went to the bartender and showed him the website. He offered to buy the next round for us. We usually only drink 1 round. Went into the restaurant to complain. Waitress said manager would comp us the drinks. Manager came out and had a fit that we were sitting in the performance venue. She said it didnt open until 7:00 and we had to sit in the restaurant until then. The bartender didnt tell us this nor did the band who was warming up. She asked if we had tickets. I said, No She said they were now $17 instead of $12. The website still had them for $12. With fees they were $37 so with my $18 worth of drinks I spent over $50. Beware of this place!
Best food ever! Our Service ever We have had the same server Ever So kind and attentive. Mother in law was born and raised in Mexico legally. Moved here. Her as well as my husband adore this place!
We give this place a 2 star because of the atmosphere. Service was terrible. Food was average and thats being gracious. But the worst was paying for a concert that was promoted to run from 7:30 PM TO 11:00PM when Im fact it went from 9:30 to 10:30. A total RIP OFF. We will not be going back to any concerts there. BTW drink prices were also unacceptable for the service and plastic cups.
A very interesting place to see a concert. I had never been here before, but bought a ticket to see the band Puddle of Mudd perform, and its quite an impressive venue to hold a concert. The concert area I would describe more like a beach club, where the stage is set up, but the area where the crowd stands for the show has a large pool right through the middle, making it a pretty sweet place to watch a concert, especially when its warm enough to swim while watching the show. The venue is also surrounded by private Cabanas that you can rent, allowing for privacy if you should want it. I have already bought another concert ticket to come back and see another show, I cant wait!
Went to the Sunday Pool party. Had a great time, good music, unlimited food and drink options available like tacos and mimosas. It was a little cloudy and the turnout was low, our friends and I felt like it was a private party. No cover charge for admission and all ages were welcome.
Very nice, I intimate place to see a show. Love the outdoor area.I returned to see Kix again this year. Sad to say not as happy. There are no ashtrays, we are using cups with water. It is colder.this year and no coffee based drinks available and sad choice of food options.
First time to be at BLK Live & it was IMPRESSIVE!!! Rock N Roll vibe, nicely laid out. The staff was very laid back, but super friendly & helpful! The food was very good as well!!! Cant wait to go there again!!!
The venue itself is nice, great setup with a big patio and pool but terrible service. Had a cabana for an event and the waitress took one of the bottles of alcohol that were almost half way full and when we asked her what she was doing she said she was “replacing it”? Bartenders also have different prices at both of the bars. One end of the bar charged $3 a water and the other $6. They do whatever they want here.
I went for the first time tonight. Initially, I was a little turned off by the $5 parking fee. I mean, really? If I was going to eat at their generic restaurant, I definitely would have turned around to go elsewhere instead. Maybe they just charge on their event nights, but still seems pretty shabby. The appetizer menu available was of course super overpriced. 4 tiny partially-filled mozarella sticks for $7 and it took an hour to arrive. The other 2 girls at the table got their items after 30 minutes and finished them. The waitress didnt even think to acknowledge that the kitchen is apparently running super slow after multiple trips back and forth to grab the other girls utensils and additional drinks. I didnt get the kitchen is slow excuse until we stopped her to ask if they were ordered or not. The waitress made a big deal about checking ID for my friends credit card, then still ended up giving her the wrong card and ran their tab on the wrong card. So then that needed to get fixed. I decided to pay in cash due to the credit card issues. I was due $3.70 in change, but the waitress took my cash and didnt ask if I wanted any. She came around later and asked then if I did, which I said yes. I only received $3 back. I guess perhaps this thievery is the norm in places like this, but I was offered change and wanted it and only got part of it back. I was going to leave $2, but she was lucky to get another $1 that I still regret leaving. The seats were uncomfortable, but at least I had one. The stage was tiny (even the band commented), the concert area was small. The show was excellent, though 30 minutes late to start. The band had probably been waiting for their food still. Not sure Id go back here as there are many better venues unless I was crazy about the artist. Based upon whats usually on their stage, thatll probably be never...
Went here with my husband for a few drinks to start our Saturday out. It was early, around 3pm, we were at the bar near the pool. The bartender was friendly and always there with a fresh drink. That all seems good, right?! And it was, until a young lady with long dark hair comes up to us, shes behind the bar. Were making small talk with her, she said she was bored since the place was pretty empty. She was a little too flirty with my husband, but young girls tend to do that. As were chatting about the pool and cabanas, we ask about the pool temperature. And...wait for it..she basically called me fat! Because shes too little to go in cold water like their pool, but Id be fine in the pool. O.M.G. seriously, did that just happen?! I politely ignore the comment, become much more short with her though, and she moved on. Now, so you know Im not just a fat bitter 41 year old woman...Im a size 10 on my worst day. Im completely comfortable with attractive thin young girls being around too, our normal mid-day hang out is the bar at Tilted Kilt and we spent the rest of this particular Saturday at Dirty Dog Saloon! Ive never had anyone blatantly flirt with my husband and put me down! I dont think well be going back anytime soon!
A great little venue to see some of your favorite bands. The stage has a pool in the front of it and there’s plenty of sitting and standing room. Acoustics, lighting, staff, security all are great!
Went first time for a show and dinner made reservations for 630.we arrived at 625 and were seated. Our waiter arrived 10 minutes thereafter we ordered drinks and appetizers. It took 90 minuted to get our drinks and were told that the people sitting at the bat were getting served first. We had ordered main courses felt like they were totally unprepared for the evening. From what I could see there were o my 2 bartenders and they had a new menu that evening.we asked if we could have our food brought to the venue so we could eat there and told no.though when we went to go find a seat to watch show we saw many folks with to go containers eating.Needless to say this wad one of the worst dining experiences. Even when we asked the waiter about our concern over dinner being such a wait he replied so is everyone else. That just put me over the top. Needless to say I will not be back nor do I recommend this establishment.
Great service all the way around! From the hostess to security, bartenders and waitresses...what a great venue and restaurant. Love the decor inside and out. Cant wait to see more shows and have dinner!
Great atmosphere but one of their girls or guys accidently picked up my shirt and towel. I asked them to check and they pretended to check. I urged them to let me check and even though an employee put the bags out on the deck, they wouldnt let me check them. Literally wouldnt have cost them anything. They even told me, they had them LAID OUT in the back BEFORE another employee brings out these huge bags full of towels. Obviously the towels were not all laid out in the back.
Great Rock bar/live music venue, expensive parking however, not sure why. Outdoor space so dress accordingly (especially wintertime) and try to stay sober if at all possible as pool by the stage is not at all covered and the whole time I feared some rather toxicated people would need rescuing.
I went here to attend the Buckethead concert, which was fantastic! My only suggestion there would be to have a safe cover for the pool to accommodate full use of the area in front of the stage.I also made dinner reservations, which are recommended for Friday and Saturday nights. The Atmosphere - was inviting and reminded me of Hard Rock Cafe type ambiance with some framed Gibson guitars throughout the interior. There were signs of ongoing upgrades and improvements around the patio fire feature which looked cool, but will be nicer when completed. The Service - My server (MacKenzie) and service was great and solely responsible for my rating being a 5 star experience, with her friendliness, light conversation and seeing that our food and beverage needs were met.The Food - I ordered the Blk Classic, a bacon cheeseburger with onion, lettuce and tomato trimmings featuring a Kobe beef patty. It was fresh and tasty, high quality, but slightly under sized for the price ($17) and comes with a moderate amount of fries that were served hot and fresh.Overall - an enjoyable meal and evening out, but certainly felt there was room for improvement to consider making this establishment a frequent hangout. My hope would be that ownership/management sees the same areas for improvement and addresses them systematically to improve the customer experience!I will check back in the near future to follow up.
Its a great club, restaurant and lounge. Located right on the corner of Scottsdale Quarter with a beautiful pool. Its one of its kinds in the area and that is what makes BLK so special. Live entertainment almost every night and super spacious.
Came to see and hear The Jefferson Starship! Fantastic! Great venue outsider, easy parking, high table at end of pool. Was close to 600 there that Thurs, Feb 1! Extra special to see and meet the band members before & after their show.🤗👍😃
We really like this place. The food is surprisingly good, the bartender always remembers what we drink, and they have am amazing concert calendar. Definitely check it out!
Worst service ever! $5.00 to park. Not valet. Waited over an hour for food. Excuse was they were trying a new menu. Sandwiches never came. Time for concert. No tables . Standing only for $40.00 ticket. Huddled under not enough heaters. So we were offered free meals after much complaints. We got one, not two dinners. Awful experience!
No idea whose dumb idea it was to have the band start when the doors to the venue hadnt even opened. Getting through the line was another cluster... that took way too long. Wont waste my time here again. If you cant get the easy decisions correct I have no confidence you are making the harder decisions correctly. i hope you apologize to the band you let play to no audience because their fans were stuck in the parking lot.Re. to Rocco,You must have known the show was sold out with an early curfew before 7:00 the night of the show. Doesnt take a lot of thinking power to realize you might need to open the venue earlier in order to get people into the show. Agreed?
Cant see how to respond to the below question so heres my response. Sorry, atmosphere just wasnt my thing. Maybe I was there on a bad night (it was a Saturday night). We got there around 9:45 and things were dying down by 11. Drinks were just as expensive as the Entertainment district in Old Town but this isnt in Old Town. I wasnt given a detailed receipt when I closed my tab out and had to ask for one. Nothing seriously bad but just wasnt my thing.
The place was nice but the service sucked..waiter brought our water and took our order....45 minutes later he brings our pricy meal.....had to ask for my check...20 minutes after we were done. ..10 minutes later he showed up. ....had to send the bartender to find him with the slip and my card. ....metal chairs with no cushions in the dining room. ...
Such a cool place but, When I called they never answered. Last time I went to check out their happy hour with my son and they said happy hour is only at the bar....WHAT!? Great way to run people out since I was the only one there. Today I was trying to make a reservation for my birthday and get some information and it just rings the goes to vice mail. When I went to visit everyone was Nicley dressed but no one was in there as far as customers go mind you it 5p now and they advertise being open in the day. They have great potential but the service hasnt been trained well unfortuently.
Very nice place like no other. The pool setting made me feel as though I was at a backyard party at a very nice house! Music from the band was good and very friendly atmosphere.
This place was swanky, I only give it 3 stars because the stage is roughly 8 feet away from a swimming pool. So imagine seeing an outdoor concert in the dead of winter, with everyone huddled off to the side for fear of taking a step backward. Its bizarre. Would be a fun summer venue.
My girlfriend and I came for a concert here. We were excited to come, but as soon as we got here we quickly ran into problems. First off, for a higher end place, its extraordinarily petty to charge for event parking. I couldnt believe that they did that. Secondly, the event start time was officially listed as 6 PM but when we arrived at 6:15, they were very unorganized. They werent taking concert goers in yet and were still scrambling to get ready. We had to wait around for them to get it together. Third, their food and drink prices were egregious. 6 dollars for a Bud light? Really? And 9 dollars(cash only) for two small sloppy joe sliders with no sides? Or 8 dollars for a small, no frills hot dog? Outlandish. I didnt have cash, but fortunately for me they had an ATM with a convenient fee attached to it. So if you have the money, and dont mind wasting it, come here for expensive beer, food, and mediocre service! Oh, and a fee for parking to go along with your ticket you had to buy!
This is a AWESOME Bar/Concert venue...I went my first time to see AUTOGRAPH and was surprised to see a pool in front of the stage this place also has private rooms with a TV and pictures of famous musicians through out the venue. Great place to relax in the pool while watching a concert
Cool place to see a concert, have been several times. The inside has a very nice bar and good food, the outside supports venues. Overall, a classy place to visit.
Show was sold out but the bar was horrifically understaffed. Also they started the 1st band at the same time as doors opening, while badly managing the doors so people trickled in and couldnt enjoy the entirety of the show.
It was ridiculous. We went to see Morris Day and was thinking we didnt have time to eat. We sat down around 7 pm and was given a new waitress. Well it took about 30 mins to get a drink and another hour before our meal showed up. Our salmon as 21.00 and it was such a small portion and veggies was bland, rice was over cooked. Once we finally finished about 9pm we went to find out what was going on with the concert. Well the band wasnt starting until 9:15. No one said he was going to be late and there was no preband. It was soo bad we left. I spend 123.00 on tickets for a show and 75.00 on dinner with was a waste. I am soo disappointed with the service and event last night.
Nice place. Has a swimming pool in front of the stage. They also have rentable(bungalow?) spaces, pretty neat I hope to rent one some day. The band we saw was good.
Best place to be. Awesome for Shows, Food is great. Tiki bar is huge. Staff makes sure you have a great time. Pool is big. Can take the kids.
Not a bad little venue. We went to see a band and found out that they had been canceled. We stayed, had a drink but then left. Just cant rate it a 5 because we werent here long enough and really didnt have that much fun.
Yeah well they false advertise. They say live music while you dine on weekends. Its just an extra 15 dollars and a different bar menu. Wouldnt have made reservations if Id of known all that
Interesting place to see a concert, looks like it used to be a motel. The stage is at one end of a courtyard that has a pool in the middle of it. The bar staff was not very enthusiastic, but not a bad experience overall
Tasty, tasty adult beverages. I have been told the meatloaf is Death Row last meal good, so Ill have to come back and try it. That said, the restaurant really doesnt know what it wants to be... Hot music venue? Speakeasy? American gastropub? Its a bit schizophrenic.
The staff and security was polite and the environment is awesome.. They showed myself and all the crowd I brought with me an excellent time! Im very pleased with this place! Also anything the beatlocker does is an awesome event its nice to be able to party in a drama free enviroment! 5 strarsThe Original PlayBoiFuturisticWest Crav
I had a lot of fun with my daughter and her friend! I met the lead singer for Matrix, he was really nice and very cute! Danny bought a soda for my daughter and I and the music was fabulous!
Gave it one star because we didnt actually go in. Went to see DJ Manfesto but we had young children with us when my friend brought the tickets online it started for all ages never heard of this place when we got their it was like bar scene and we didnt feel it was age appropriate
Four different meals and not one person had anything positive to say. The worst was the ribs which were rubbery like they were microwaved. Drinks were either extremely light pours or watered down. Staff either ignored you or acted like you were inconveniencing them when you asked for something.Edit in response to manager reply: Rocco, as a bar manager you should know Arizona liquor laws. There is a maximum of 4 ounces of distilled spirits allowed per drink. There is no minimum. Since you have many reviews complaining about weak drinks, you might want to make sure your bartenders are pouring correctly or revisit your decision on the alcohol per drink.
Excellent venue and even better food! I can honestly say, me and my friends and family have never had more fun. This place is epic!
It was our first time out here and the food was amazing and the service was exceptional. All in all a great place for an intimate dinner and then a show on the patio. We will definitely be going back to BLK!
So far so good although I have not had the food. I go for the shows. The outdoor area is good for that and service is good but $7 for an aluminum bottle is a little steep
Saw Jack Russells Great White! Awesome show, venue was relaxed and show was great. Drinks a little pricey but good alcohol not watered down.
Overall love BLK,but 2 things I dont like! The 1st is a 5 dollar for parking BLKs a bar just like Joes Grotto, Cactus Jacks Ahwatukee Tavern, and others ya get free parking! I get why the Marquee Tempe charges for parking they dont own the land! The 2nd is weather is way too hot at night! The pool doesnt work because its warm like a hot tub wont cool ya off! Its still over 90 degrees when it gets dark too! Ill only go there for shows from October to May yes! Ill never go from June to September no way Jose yeah! Thats why Im only giving 3 stars yes!
Excellent music, great food, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Its nice to see a place bring in the live cover band scene. Not nearly enough options like that around.
Fun place for the 40something crowd. Lots of cool live old school rock and hair metal bands. If you like rock in the late 1970s-1980s, then this is your jam!
Pretty awesome place for a small concert. There is a pool in front of the stage. May be u expected to some. Drinks are great. Hats off to the bartenders.
The place has a great space for events. Staff very friendly. Drink pours at lite ... Heard it from several patrons and noticed it myself. This the 3 stars. Will try them again.
Awesome venue. Great place to see some excellent live bands, great atmosphere, always friendly and supportive staff. Great food, drinks and music.
Love this place...saw Jefferson Starship here and there was room to be comfortable and see the stage. Nice bar and cool pool in the center. Renting a cabana would be fun. I would recommend checking this out!
Went here to watch the Superbowl recieved great service, the bartender was very attentive, they were even going to accommodate us around some reserved tables. We ended up at the bar ready for the AYCE wings!
Ive been here a few times now and the pool parties are awesome, the food is nothing short of amazing, service is quick and accurate and the staff is always polite and handle situations accordingly. You will never please everyone but they try their best and I will continue to frequent this place.
Excellent staff in the main bar! Connor, Lara, and Hannah make the best team! Thanks for a wonderful time. We will definitely be back.
This place is such an amazing venue!! I wish they had more nights with danceable music like RNB..hip hop..motown..or other. Less rock n roll
Really cool music venue! Great to see a band, their food is awesome, staff is friendly. Definitely recommend.
Great concert from Dokken!!! However this place needs to improve on their bar service. The waitress was incredible in the face of adversity. Management however was mediocre at best.
The concept is cool, concert at a pool party but that would work better at a hotel or resort. Drunk people jumping in with their clothes on splashing people who are jammed up along the edges is not a fun way to watch a live show. Ditch the pool, BLK!
Gorgeous venue, amazing sound system, great bands, friendly staff, Im definitely going to be a regular! Good good too, including vegetarian options.
I love outdoor venues to watch music but in the winter I feel the need to cover that pool and give more than 3 feet of Standing Room in front of the stage if youre not there at opening you pretty much going to have to stand on the side somewhere or in the back on the back side of the pool but then again you might get asked to move like we did because of the people sitting at the tables
Great service. Marko and Miki are awesome bartenders. Great place for concerts. If you want great drinks and service come to BLK Live. Thanks you guys for making our night better.
Has an awesome pool and waterfall! Fun bartenders and GM, great music and drinks. Would love to come back during the day for pool party!
Saw some good concerts in this venue over the years from Great White’s Jack Russell to Hairball, a great cover band of 80’s hairbands. Def worth checking out!
Came for a concert and was nice and chill. Good lounge feel and all types of people come here. But strange that the bathrooms have a shower stall with shower chair.
Excellent venue, with plenty of room, and a great sound system. Great and friendly service. Very down to earth, with a variety of age groups and people!!!
Cool place & the staff was friendly but drinks and food was overpriced. The only food option they had was grilled hotdogs, chili, and a small bag of pretzels with a side of cheese. Ballpark pricing but the ballpark has more options.
Ive been to 2 shows here, both well done. You can hang and drink at the bar like youre in club, lounge in cabanas or hang on the edge of the stage, your choice.
Saw SuperDiamond on Friday. My wife and I was very impressed with the venue and the show. Our server, was great. The venue is beautiful. we will be back.
Cool place to see live music. Beer is a little pricey. They have a pool that you can jump into during the summer to cool off.
Went for Candlebox concert, got there and got in line early but they didnt start letting us in until the first band was almost done with their set. Why they didnt open the doors at 7, we wont know. Why we had to be in line WITH OUR TICKETS, behind will call, we wont know. What we do know us this is first and last time.
Awesome concert venue, very nice inside and flows into spacious outdoor area with large pool. Really unique!
Awesome venue. Fantastic staff. Food is good and drinks arent too expensive compared to event prices elsewhere
Normally a really good place to watch bands. But on Sunday June 30th the bands were on the inside stage and very little air. The place was hot as hell!!
Neat looking venue, very small though and unless people fill the pool also, the attendance is going to be low so not sure why they designed it like this. Not the greatest service or selection either.
Most times we give this place a 4 or 5....but the Dokken show changed that!! Firstly, the 2 band format was perfect..this 3 band thing sux....especially since they hierd some kid whos guitar was out of tune for the first 2 songs...not good....the cover band sounded the best of all three bands....the Dokken finally got up there....jeeeez...fire that sound guy, unleess ot was Dokkens guy....no lead vocal for the first song and three quarters...what a joke. We have been to BLK 7 or 8 times....this was by far the worst.
Love this venue especially for concerts, sweet lil place and the pool is amazing also! My new favorite place for sure.
Staff is aloof, live music was horrible at indoor bar and smelled of a pea trap clogged with grease. Outdoor bar drinks were horrible, food wasnt good.
Music was fantastic, not enough places to sit. We went on a day that was a little chilly and it was hard to stand, got there in time for the warm-up band and then the show
After calling to speak to a manager. The host bailey could be overheard mocking me while talking to her manager. At least have the decency to put the phone on hold. Rude staff. Would not recommend.
Great place. Staff was outstanding. Our server Jana was outstanding. The only recommendation is some type of heat for the cabanas, it was a bit cold.
Great Venue ! I saw Faster Pussycat and Bang Tango there. It was a great show but hot as F... its all open with misters and has a pool!
Great place to see awesome bands by the pool! National acts, classic rock, Reggae, you name it. Highly recommend!
What a great venue! The management and staff are top notch, Thank you Jana for your service. Would definitely come again!!!
Great for a small venue, enjoy the pool and misters outside where theres plenty of seating; or enjoy your time inside with an excellent bar staff!
Love this place! Great bands great and atmosphere. Staff is also very wonderful and food very good.
We loved the atmosphere. We went there for a live concert which for a rock show probably wasnt the best venue as the pool divides the people.
Great atmosphere, great food, and great service. Place always seems a little empty since its not on Scottsdale Rd but that just means everyone is more attentive when youre there.
I live 2 miles away from BLK Live and frequently can hear loud music INSIDE my house. For example tonight, Sunday at 9:57 pm. Any place of business that continues to disregard and disrespect its surrounding community, as I know hundreds of noise complaints have been filed with them and the scottsdale police department, isn’t even worthy of 1 star. Unfortunately I had to give it that to post my comment.
This place is killer.. the bartender was super cool, the wait staff was awesome, the food was great, the drinks were cold, except for the 18 year old macallan scotch....perfect room temp, and we saw Dokken...awesome awesome awesome
Was here with my wife for Valentines day. It was pretty nice although it was raining and cold. Next time I go if its a little more lively Ill give it 5 stars
Last night was my first time there to see Sponge. Its a great place to hang out and see bands. I will definately be back!
Fav new spot! So glad they opened a venue in N. Scottsdale. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, beautiful, and a good time.
Really cool venue. I wish Id have known there was a pool. Next time Ill bring my swimming trunks!
We left 90 minutes after the band was scheduled to play and they hadnt even warmed up yet. Not enough seating and expensive drinks.
Definitely a great place hangout with friends and family , Live band , great food , drinks and pool ! We had a surprise guest at our table , Roman Pastucha . Amazing Artwork !!
Excellent live music venue and restaurant. The Y&T show was awesome, the sound system is amazing, gelreat atmosphere, food and service
The food was nasty. But the place it self was great . service superb staff was so kind helpful just a wonderful place and it was beautiful but the food was awful tasteless presentation was nice but the food itself was the worst Ive ever tasted
Went to purchase tickets to an upcoming show, everyone was very helpful and friendly . Looking forward to experiencing a great show at this venue !
So stupid! Band started at 7pm but doors dont open till 7! Standing in parking lot long line waiting to get in very slow! Very dumb management whoever planned that!
Great bands. Great atmosphere! Great bar and guess what? Great place to hang out any night of the week! Fun fun fun!!!!
Real nice place to chill. Entertainment was great! Enjoyed Doc Powell! Looking forward to visiting more!
This place is awesome! I went for a private event. Theres good parking, and this bar has a pool.
I love this place. Keep the concerts coming! Cant ask for better music to enjoy live.
Cool place, nice pool and good for small concerts. Food presentation and service was great! Food was ok.
A unique restaurant /music venue with a pool. Good bar food and poolside munchies. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Ive been to BLK Live 3 times so far & I look forward to going again. Great concert venue, awesome food and cocktails.
It was our first time to this venue and it was very nice. We enjoyed ourselves and hope to return back soon
We went for the first time to see Puddle of Mudd. Great venue for shows, and staff was Very helpful. Needs more women bathroom
Beautiful venue!😍 Three different bars a restaurant and pool in the middle!! Beautiful place for any event!!
First time ever went to a concert with a pool/bar. Its was fun. Mark Wills was incredible!
Horrible service. Took over one hour to get our first drink. Almost two and a half hours to get our food. All around poor service. Will never go to BLK live again
Very unusual set up with a pool in the middle of the club but great band last in line had a good time
Love this venue. Designated handicap and Veteran seating. Staff are all great!!
Ok, overpriced, but it is Scottsdale. Not my thing, I dont need to impress anyone. Younger crowd may like it. Pool outside too.
Had the best family dinner. Great service, wonderful drinks and yummy food. Love, love this place.
Staff not so friendly and kinda rude.. Apps and Beer pretty decent. Concert Venue is very nice.
I cam here to celebrate Eliancea 5th anniversary party, and it was fun time. Its a cool place with some decent food!
Really nice, clean venue. Drinks and food are a little pricey but good quality.
BLK live is a great place to see a show. They have a large professional outdoor stage and also a smaller indoor stage.
Good small place to see a band. There is a pool that separates the crowd, but good sound and fun place
It took over an hour to get in. And then the show was an hour late by the time the act came on we had been there for 2 hours. Seating was very limited. Not impressed.
The atmosphere and staff were wonderful, although it rained before the show it was still great.
Very nice venue. Fun to see drink people fall into a pool in the winter
Went to see Clinton Fearon, awesome intimate performance. Hassle free staff and great place to chill and see some live music.
I liked this place for concerts because there is a pool, and its unique. Super cool idea!
Very friendly staff, great customer service, pool was great, didnt try to the food.. we had a good time.
Great music venue they host a lot of big names like great white , winger and more
