I came here a couple years ago with my friends on our first big trip to Seattle together since turning 21. Our plan was to bar hop but as soon as we stepped into The Crescent Lounge, we all knew that we had found our hangout spot for the night. Everyone that we met was so welcoming and friendly! One of my friends is a trained singer and he just absolutely brought the house down during karaoke which made an already great night even more memorable for us. The atmosphere of this place and the community behind it is just incredible. I can’t rave about it enough!
Jason, my bartender went out of his way to make my night. Through poor perspective I reacted with emotion and Jason treated me with grace. Jason’s patience is overly appreciated. Until next time. Thank you
I love the love here. Like Cat Stevens might say, “If you wanna sing out, sing out!” That’s what people do here, and they generally look like they’re coming to have fun and participate in a social, musical experience.
Faithfully came here years ago when I lived on the hill. Shots are half shots now (bartender clearly puts their finger on the air spout). For 3 doubles and a single, Its apparently $100. Bartender manhandled the ice after he poured short shots on the drinks with the mixer. Obviously, you dont order food here... Karaoke is great, but you should plan on a pregame. Only come here if youre already drunk and ready to sing. The KJ was on point. Also, why tf was the bouncer smoking in the doorway..?
Always fun. Bar staff are amazing. Karaoke is Fire. Straight friendly so come join, open to all!!
A very laid back and friendly place with great karaoke starting at a reasonable time (4pm) vs. everywhere else in CapHill that has forgotten those of us over 40 would like to get home at a reasonable hour :D
Super great, fun, energetic bar! Bartender Mark is awesome and nice! If youre looking for karaoke this is the place to be at. Im not usually a singing type person but I felt very comfortable here and didnt mind singing in front of everyone. If youre looking for a first stop or your last come check it out! Bartenders are very friendly I think one was being trained but he didnt just BS my drink he asked to make sure he knew what he was doing. Very friendly bar.
Always a good time! The bartenders here are rockstars, I dont think Ive ever had to wait more than a minute or two for a drink even on super busy nights.
Stumbled in this bar on a Tuesday evening not expecting much, but as soon as I walk in the bartender , Mindy, welcomed me with the best energy. Everyone is so sweet and I’m definitely going to be stopping by more often.
This is a dive karaoke bar. The weekends get a bunch of woo girls and tech bros in but weeknights and neighborhood locals. Thursdays with Colton as KJ are light hearted and fun
Definitely better than hula hula in terms of treating patrons kindly and not skipping over us when we request a song just because we are not attractive? Hula SUCKS . Crescent is where it’s at! The dj is always kind too unlike hula.Woohoo for crescent!!! Just wish reuben was a lil bit more chill.
Decent hangout spot. Really small area so sitting might be hard to find if youre there to stay and chill for a while. The public karaoke is fun, had no issues inside the establishment. Can get a bit shifty outside with random people that werent there for the karaoke loitering so be careful when youre exiting.
Very friendly vibes, spacious atmosphere, a feast for the eyes. Karaoke baby!! I struggle with bars because so many are way too loud and cramped, but this one works so well on both fronts. Btw, they dont serve food but are super chill about letting you come in with your own.
Ken B as the KJ. Ruvin behind the bar. It doesn’t getting any better than that. Karaoke every night. What not to love
You know your local bar the hole in the wall the one that no one really likes where the bartender recognize you from 10 years ago the crescent
Anyone...... I mean ANYONE accepted and will have the best time of their lives!!! Come sing with us
Cozy and amazing gay bar in cap hill. I love the chill community vibes here.
Ruvin, the bartender, has the MOST AMAZING mixed drinks! I gave him a couple of things I was looking for, and he made me the most delicious drinks all night! I cannot recommend this place enough (as long as you like karaoke)! Thank you Ruvin for an awesome night!!!
Would have given a 5 if it weren’t for the entitled KJ. Put in a song 3 different times and each time he miraculously lost it or said he called me and I didn’t come up. There were 3 of us sitting right there and he would just skip and put in his friends. Rueben the bartender was awesome, super friendly and made it worthwhile. I would go again if Ken B was the karaoke host. He was the only reason I got in to sing to begin with. Bump him up to head karaoke host. All in all it was a great birthday vacation.
Your neighborhood queer karaoke dive bar. Jeff the day bartender is amazing! The regulars make out of towners feel welcome and their song collection is top notch.
Decent little bar for some laid back fun. There was karaoke the night I was there. I’m not sure if they have it every night. It was definitely very loud in the bar. The door guy wasn’t the friendliest, but I paid no attention to that. :)
The best gay karaoke bar on the west coast or maybe anywhere. You would be hard-pressed to name a better one. Calling The Crescent a gay karaoke bar is misleading, its so much more. Its a dive bar. Its a hippie bar. Its a neighborhood bar. Its diverse. Its straight friendly. Its the best.
Lgbtq karoke bar sign if u want or drink up and enjoy the show
Every person I know has a bad experience of men being creepy and/or assaulting them here. Ive been twice and both times I experienced this as well, and tonight the door girl was completely rude and inconsiderate. As someone who works in nightlife too, I hesitate to leave bad reviews about stuff like this, but I have never been treated so poorly by staff for attempting to enjoy their business
This is a Seattle institution and comes with a lot of character and color! It is well worth frequenting especially if it’s a little slower and you get to hang out with the regulars and the staff. All lovely people.
Best karaoke dive bar around!! staff is incredible. vibe is always amazing!
Decent place and the karaoke was fun even if no one was paying attention. Drink prices are a little much. Should not be paying $10 for a simple gin and tonic.
For the sake of society, we should ban ‘One Night in Bangkok’ from karaoke. Idk man I’m still getting used to Seattle
A nice karaoke bar to bring friends who dont want to go clubbing, but still want to go out and talk to people. The regulars here are nice and inclusive, and the staff is welcoming and friendly. The place can get crowded, but its Seattle so you knew that.
The best karaoke 🎤 and vibes in Capital hill part of Seattle. Open to all folks and great singing even from the Bartender. I will be bringing my friends to the Cresent. I appreciate you 🙏🗽🥳🥂🍾
Any night Im going to Seattle The Crescent is always one of my go tos. They have an amazing scene and night life. The karaoke here is the absolute highlight of my nights! Service is amazing and very kind!!!
Wonderful place to spend a silly new years eve! Super friendly people and laid back atmosphere. Will be back whenever I can be :)
The ambience is pretty easy-going. Everyone here is having a good time. The happy hour is popular with after-work folk, and its pretty cheap. The drinks are great, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The decor is rustic but very comfortable. Visited here a few times on my 10 nights in Seattle.
The drinks are fine, I guess but it seems unless you are a regular you dont get the attention you want or deserve. I went with a group of server/bartenders of mine and it seems like it was harder than usually to get the tenders attention; on a Monday. The karaoke host could have been cool, if it didnt seem like she was playing favorites. My friends and I are huge karaoke fans and participant, but it seemed unless you put in a rock song, which is okay Im a fan myself, or something the crowd might like, you dont sing. I have no problem with regular type bars, they are great, I work at one myself, but this was a little ridiculousI am actually very upset since we went a little out of our way to come here
Super-fun place! I went here with my girlfriend and had such a fun time listening to Karaoke, singing along and chatting with everyone here. The staff were really nice and the vibe is very unpretentious and relaxed. One of the best bars on Capitol Hill
Normally dont go to gay bars, but its a nice place and the prices are good. Nice place to meet women. Also the bartenders are pretty great.
A great Dive Bar with Karaoke 7 days a week. Good drinks and friendly bartenders.
Drinks were phenomenal, Ruvin behind the bar made you feel welcome and valued. Colton was the KJ on the night that we went, and he made sure that everyone was feeling good. Had the best time here. (Copied from my Yelp review.)
Everything was good. The bartender was great, the DJ was cool and the drinks were popping. The bouncer harassed me because he was having a bad day. When I spoke to the manager, he stated that there was nothing he could do, but allow me to get harassed. This was my first time at this bar. This maybe my last time as well. I just cannot believe that black people get treated so badly even in the LGBTQA community.
Ambience was friendly and colorful. Nice place to hang for some hours with friends. Song requests take a lot though.
I visited Seattle in August 2012 and had a blast at Crescent Lounge. The place is a mixture of straight and LGBT, which I find comfortable. Karaoke was a blast, and I got to know some of the regulars and one of the karaoke DJs. Next time Im in Seattle, I will definitely be going back!
I like the fact that its the earliest open bar on the Hill. However, $13.00 for a double shot is quite a lot more than I was expecting. Atmosphere is always great though. Friendly bartenders & patrons every time Ive come in. If they cut prices a bit Id be more inclined to frequent.
Outstanding! We were visiting from Houston and walked in 30 minutes before the bar opened. Amy the bar tender said vote on in, she needed a few minutes to see up. She made awesome bloody maries. Scout and Vivian spent time getting to know us. Friendly bar with incredibly friendly staff. Were heading back for the Friday night drag show! Thanks Amy.
Very pricey drinks, but a thriving local scene with vibrant karaoke and an energized crowd. Expect some lap dogs giving confused looks and a serious scrum to get to the restroom, but solid drinks and enthusiastic bartenders. The place does suffer under the weight of its own pretension, but thats par for the course in this neighborhood. Come early, get a seat and enjoy it for what it is.
As a visitor to this bar and to Seattle I found this place to be absolutely great. Very friendly people, interesting kareoke, good drinks. Never felt like we didnt belong or were ignored. Glad we stopped by.
Delightful experience at a community event! This place is extremely challenging to get around with a wheelchair. I like the vibes and the events they put on, but I probably wont be back
A great place where everyone is welcome.
Come early if you want to get a song in on a weekend night. Strong drinks and great atmosphere.
Classic Seattle dive. Best Karioke in town, very inclusive and really a great bunch of people. The Seattle freeze missed this joint! Also Casey is #1 Karioke host! 🎤🙌🏼
14/10. Favorite karaoke bar and dive bar in Capitol Hill. Super LGBTQ friendly, great staff, drinks are lower priced than other spots in Seattle.
Yes. Yes! A thousand times yes! This place rules.
Next to Hula Hula, this is one of my favorite dive bars. Cheap drinks, friendly staff, and karaoke!Ive had some great experiences here. If youre looking to get drunk on a Friday night, do your pregaming here, then go to the other, more expensive bars.
I agree with others. If ur not a regular they pay u no mind. Dont bother sitting at the bar It does NOT help!! My first time here was not the best experience Sadly!! If they read these maybe they will improve !
I went in looking for a few hours to be surrounded by my community, and it was everything I could have hoped for! The staff were sweethearts, everyone was having a great time and I loved it.
Came to visit from Salt Lake City and tried to sing karaoke however, it was invaded by locals too where the same group was able to sing multiple times even when i put in request way before any of them. Disappointing for those whore just visiting. :/
A very welcoming place. Attentive staff. Theres disparate decor everywhere, which makes the place feel a little bit nuts. All thats missing is 60 cats and aunt Esters afghan.
First time in capital hill and this bar is one of the best in my opinion!Bartender Scot was welcoming friendly and kept the drinks flowing!I will be back the next time Im in Seattle!
Divey karaoke...place was packed and waited over 2 hours but still wasnt called up to sing. I offered 20 bucks to bump me up and was told by the super rude DJ that they dont accepted bribes, but if I payed $100 I could be up next...I left of course.
Its a cool place to go if you know people that work there or you live in the neighborhood otherwise its pretty cliquey. The bathrooms need to be updated in fact just tear the whole bar down and build a new one. Why the place hasnt collapsed is beyond me.
This place has no seating, its tiny and all you can smell is old urine blasting out of the bathroom. The drag kj was a money grubbing **itch and really rude. If you dont tip her every single time that youre up, you wont get to go up again. The clientele are a mix of really old dirty looking locals, drunks, and hustlers.I had a blast!
This bar is a karaoke bar, and its great for that (except that the rotation is so long youre lucky to get a song in every 2 hours). Friendly staff and good drinks though.
Great old dive bar. I used to live near it. Id not been there in 2-3 years. Saw 2 people that I used to sing with on Sunday.
Always a joy, divey little queer kareoke bar with a standard set if characters. Great spot to make or take friends to.
Its a sketchy bar but we loved the vibe. The drinks are cheap but you get what you pay for! Dont go in expecting a fancy bar lounge!
The last true dive bar left on the hill and the best place to drunkenly sing your favorite love song. All are welcome, as long as your half tossed when you get there!
Love going to this bar when in Seattle.Love the karaoke they host here. Definitely one of my fave dive bars to go to.
This is a terrible bar that refused me service for being straight. no joke. Took one look at me and said 86. I was there for less than 30 seconds. Not a friendly business.
Fantastic atmosphere. Didnt wait at all. Got to sing multiple times. Great barstaff!!! In from out it out of town like me? Check it out!
The staff was really rude and not welcoming. It seems like they have a regular crowd and if you dont fit into the crowd are looking for, they give you a really long wait time for karaoke and treating you disrespectfully.
Amazing service, 10/10 recommend to anybody looking to have a good time.
Saturday night karaoke. 2 hours after putting in her name, and my wifes name wasnt called. When I asked why she wasnt called yet, the DJ said she wasnt brown enough. My Colombian born wife wasnt brown enough for this black man to be able to let her sing a karaoke song?!!? Wow. He needs to lose his job.
The best dive bar for karaoke. One of the oldest remaining gay bars on the hill!
Karaoke seven nights a week? Cheap drinks? Dozens of new friends to meet? Come to the Crescent Lounge and get it all!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely a dive bar.
Great spot! One of the older bars but has Karaoke 7 nights a week!
Local color! Not a dive bar, but a low down bar vibe. Bartenders make a mean drink. LGBT friendly, but has a little bit of everyone.
So Cap Hill!A cap hill classic before the hipster - Dont expect fancy drinks. Most people who come here are regulars and come here for getting drunk and doing Karaoke. It gets loud.
Great place to chill and hangout not to overwhelming either witch is nice
One of my all time fav dive bars. bad singing, awful layout, and they used to sell sparks?! what more could someone ask for. long time capital hill winner in my book.
A gem in the heart of Seattle, and a bulwark of LGBT culture. Beautiful song and flowing booze all night long!
Horrible karaoke. Go somewhere else. KJ has no idea what theyre doing. Waited over 2 hours and my name never even made it to the queue.
Chill vibe, everyone was friendly, didnt have to wait long for karaoke
Had the best 21st birthday a queer dude could ask for. Incredible and kind staff. Please give this place a chance!!
Fun Karaoke bar. Not pretentious. Friendly. Warm atmosphere.
Dive. Karaoke 365 days. Gay, but friendly to all. I like it, even if I can only listen to bad mics for a few hours at a time.
Super good karaoke, bartenders are really friendly, found my spot for sure!!!
Serves false pints. When my friend got a 16 Oz pint and I got a 14oz pint, the bartender was sarcastic and offered no compensation for ripping me off my 2 ounces.
The perfect dive bar with nightly karaoke, cheap drinks, and a fun, laid back crowd.
Best kareoke bar in Washington 7days a week.
God damn national treasure!!!
A great place to be sexualy assaulted.. then asked to leave because you caused a scene
Youd better fit into the crowd that theyre looking for, otherwise they treat you like an outsider. Not what were looking for in the queer community.
You can play a real live, life size game of Pac Man. (Imagination and Sounds Effects Required) 😏
Didnt get to stay long. Very small decently priced, friendly
Great karaoke, super casual, fun atmosphere, good drinks.
One of the genuine oldschool Seattle bars. Whether youre there for a song or just want to stop in somewhere divey, theyve got you.
Had such a fun time doing karaoke here!
Nice time for karaoke and spending time with friends, nice staff
Best karaoke I found, they actually had songs I would sing!
Fun place that is largely a mixed crowd three fasts days. Bartender is a little inattentive.
Definitely go there
Its always a good time when I go there 💚
Karaoke every night!!! Friendly funny entertaining.
Small, unpretentious, spot for quick drinks and loud boisterous celebration.
Looking for a fun night look no further. Karaoke and booze are a plenty.
Love, Love, Love this barMy go to whenever Im in Seattle
Good atmosphere, yet drink prices are unexpected steep.
The Hills old standby. Cheap, early opening, and no big frills. Love it.
An amazing place full of love, music, and great people!
Karaoke its super fun
Great Atmosphere can’t wait for her to open again
Not a gay bar as listed!
My favorite karaoke bar in Seattle. 😊
