First time at The Funhouse, and I had a great time. Sweater For An Astronaut drove from Eugene to play here, and I was there to see them. Its worth the long drive. Excellent options at the Bar with tasty drinks like the Strawberry Lemonade Vodka w/7-Up. There is an Iron Maiden and a Rush Pinball Machine. This is the place to see a band up close and personal. I liked the Viking Skull Mural. The staff are friendly and clearly enjoy their jobs. Coincidentally, the music played between bands was a collection of my favorite artists. Violent Femmes, Germs, and many more were the perfect playlist.
*TINY* venue. We came up from Atlanta to see Fallstar and we were not disappointed! The bartender was legit the nicest person. She made really great drinks. Yall need to TIP HER WELL. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻The bathrooms were the only reason I removed a star. Eek.You can only drink behind the fence. That kind of sucks because then you cant see the bands. I dont mind keeping drinks in a designated location, but make it so we can still see!
I’m a metal head, love the place.Today a car was blocking ours and I went to ask who could help me to find the owner via speaking with the mic.Context: I do not drink, so calmly asked the bartender if she could help me to point me to the person who could help me, she show no respect, screamed at me, none professionalism, she should not attend customers. I remained calm and she got even more agitated. The overreaction shows she should not be working in such environment, cause can get triggered and disrespect customers whom are in distress. My respect to the head of security who was professional and calm, NOT THE BARTENDER.
This is a great venue to catch some amazing musical acts. They have a great sound system and cool vibe. But lets be honest, its a dive. Its a little dirty and a bit sketchy, and not for the faint of heart. But hey, thats what also makes it great!
I went and saw the Super Suckers show at the Fun House on May 10th, 2024. Its a really cool atmosphere, really cool venue, really cool and nice security and really cool and nice bartender amazing show.I had a blast. I highly recommend it.Finn Kingfish,(Parliament) 5th Kind
Racist guy at the entrance of the venue, the person in charge of selling tickets refuse to let me go in because he wanted me to present my passport, and it is illegal to ask for that document, only immigration employees can request this!Went to at least 30 different bars and restaurants and none asked for anything!!!I gave him my drivers licence and mexican ID but he refuse to receive this and denied me entrance to the venue.Very disappointed in the responsibility they give to somebody with a lack of knowledge and clearly ethnic bias!I wouldnt recommend this venue to anybody visiting from out the U.S.
Drink expensive and merch area very badly organised but the actual live music area is great and the sound quality is awesome. Had a great time :) hot tip: bring cash!!!
A cool, intimate live venue. We saw Raven there on Wednesday 11/10/2021, and the place rocked! The place is definitely on the smaller side, but the sound quality of the mix was good. Friendly staff as well. The only possible bummer was finding nearby parking, since options are limited. We ended up paying $6 for a lot around the corner. Other than this, no complaints.
My wife and I went here last night. Had an amazing time seeing des rocks perform and star bender. The drinks are fairly priced compared to most places and the service was great. Very small dive bar, but in our opinion that only added to an already good experience. As far as I know they dont have food. Thats okay though. Very nice and cozy little spot to see up and coming bands. Highly recommend checking this place out.
This place puts on great small, intimate shows. the 21+ area is well managed and the bartenders are lovely.
Who I came to see was phenomenal 🎶 Bartender was awesome 😎 BUT the other staff not so much 😔
Security was great, bar our staff was on point. Music was amazing. definitely gets hot inside so drink some h2o
Nice place with cool music, although the security staff could learn to be a bit more courteous
With temperatures rising, we all need to get Air Conditioning. As a consistently sold out venue, with the risk of crowd surging, its a dangerous game. I cant fault the staff for venue issues, no issues Ive encountered. No food: N/A ScoreMinimal complaints, will see more shows there. Keep praying it wont sell out but it will.
As a nightclub bartender and manager, I can honestly say this is the worst service I could have imagined. I originally went in for a show and asked about earplugs, charged 2 dollars and denied card payment as there is a 10 dollar minimum. No problem. I asked my boyfriend if he could grab me some earplugs while he got a drink (since I wasn’t drinking). He gets them, comes back and says they didn’t charge him. I walked back and calmly asked why I was charged and he wasn’t for the same thing and the bartender responds “if you have an issue, you can talk to me, I’m the manager.” I said no problem, I am talking to you. And she gets very close to my face and says “you know what? You can have nothing.” So I left because it wasn’t a huge thing to deal with to begin with. I just wanted to know why. When I came back I was denied re entry and had to miss the show I drove an hour and a half to get to. Moral of the story-I don’t know what type of “managers” they are hiring or why that particular one was so hostile with me from the beginning, but I would never let someone like that work in my bar, or talk to my customers that way. It’s a shame and an embarrassment for the funhouse as a whole.
This place needs some sort of Air Conditioner or at least proper ventilation. With a packed crowd, this place becomes a hot-box. It was really unpleasant, walked out drenched in moisture.Sound mixing was awesome; great EQ and balance. My experience with the Bar was fine.No rating of Food; wasnt present the night I visited.
Saw some metal bands. Good drinks, pretty girls, firm handshakes. I like that place. Tell the guy at the door you know Cole Slaw Jones. Hell be a lot nicer if yiu do.
This was my favorite venue back before they moved and it still is. I was super bummed when I heard the gentrification displaced the Funhouse from their original location. It used to have a basketball court on the back patio!. Divey, just like you like it, great music, drinks and atmosphere that youd expect for local openers for national touring acts. Great for metal music. My favorite part is the sticker covered bathroom. Its rad. El corazon is right next door. Go support some local and underground music. This is the venue youre looking for.
This is a horrible and badly run establishment. Was a band I like there playing but they straight up and canceled for no reason without letting anyone know. They didnt even tell the band but instead kicked them out as soon as they got thereThe band was nice enough to try to pay for the parking the venue falsely claimed didnt have but the place was so idiotic it still wouldnt let them play. Not only is that rude and unprofessional but definitely not going to recommend this place. Plus they then lied about why the band didnt play trying to place the blame on them...
Traditional Rock club. No food, service staff are jaded and callas, and the place was freezing. Drink prices are reasonable for King County. The bands that play here are mostly underground and heavy. I had a good time watching the bands and I will be back .
Didnt catch her name, but most beautiful, charming little barmaid 😘...Black dreads, pale blue eyes, gorgeous. Great crowd atmosphere, everyone considerate and friendly, even for a Black Metal show 😁🤘
I have never been a fan of heavy metal screamo music, but tonight I have found that its actually pretty good. I went to the Dirtnap video shoot and had an absolute blast. Watching the moshpit, losing my hearing in my left ear, finding out that I can actually understand most of the words... It was a riot of noise, sweat, and too little space. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone that is looking to expand your horizons.
Small very intimate venue. Security gave me a cavity search for a show with 40 people. So pretty safe. Hot as heck in the summertime
The accused a.d. rocks. I love this venue cause of two stages ,so while one band is setting up on one stage, another one is playing. \!,,/
Dude... Go Here!If you like seeing good bands that arent afraid to be authentic then this is your church. The bands are cool, the owners are cool, youll be in good company.Melt your M@therFu&k!ng face off!
The Funhouse was a blast! We had a great time. Electro Pastel America (ELO) was awesome, personable, and clearly has a few fans! Well be checking them out again, as soon as we know when and where!
This place is a hot dump of a music venue. Parking is awful. This place is bad & the managment is even worse. 2 outta 10 do not recommend!! Save your $$ Better places elsewhere to catch a show! If you ever wanted to watch a show in a old shoe box then this is the place for you.
Will cancel out of state bands 5 mins before show starts then send an untruthful email to ticket holders saying band did not want to play. Wouldnt risk buying tickets or booking gigs here. Very shady place.
The sweatiest show Ive ever been to! Its small and with little ventilation, but the sound was good, and the crowd was wild but safe. A little gem.
Booked concert on May 24th for SDS, then the not-so-funhouse cancelled it after the band arrived and set-up. The Funhouse then kicked the band out and lied to everyone who drove to see them perform. Beware when booking anything here!
Watched Hillbilly Moon Explosion. Was a fantastic show and the other bands had so much energy, they killed it. Couple of pointers if youre going to the Funhouse: #1 If you are thinking of wearing those sexy heels remember youll likely be standing for 4 hours. The place is small and VERY little seating. #2 Its hot, really fn hot. Not sure they even have AC so dress accordingly. #3 Its super loud. I dont mind the volume since I loved the music but it makes ordering drinks difficult. Be clear and simple on your order. Conversation is tough.Best part was being so close to the band and getting into the experience. Totally different than your usual big concert. Overall had a great time.
So dark, bad sidewalks - nearly tripped several times. Its right by I5, so theres a fair amount of unhoused encampments near by so dont leave anything in your car.
Its the original dive bar. Its gritty, with bare concrete floors, sticker and poster covered walls and I felt like I was home. This is the kind of place where great music is born and incredible artists are found.
This is one of my favorite venues because its small and you get to see bands close up. The security are always nice and fun but man... It gets so friggen hot and stinky every time! Need some air conditioning or more fans. They make their drinks strong but I like that! Overall, it is always a good time there!
The venue was alright. The bouncers were not the nicest people. The bartenders were nice. Bathrooms were interesting. Drinks werent very strong, like at all. Sometimes I like some vodka in my vodka cran. But all well. Overall I had a good time. Im happy I got to experience this place.
Very disrespectful canceling on SDS . And for what , giving them 5 mins to park their bus somewhere else ? Did the staff not communicate? And lying to ppl saying they didn’t want to play ? Don’t book your shows here if you don’t wanna be cancelled. Disgusting
Sick live venue, love seeing shows here, only issue is the cost of drinks but thats to be expected. pretty sure they also have reasonably priced bag & jacket check here (i know el corazon does for sure).
Went there twice now and the second time was to see the kottonmouth kings and crazy town and they had some really good local rappers there two. Cant wait for their next show
I came here for a Children of Bodom concert. This venue was in a seedy area, and the inside was dingy and dirty. And somehow, I still liked it. Its like what you would expect fr an underground punk rock venue. The pit in front of the stage is wide, and has an upper level a couple of steps up for additional standing room. The bar to the left was modest, and has a list of different drinks that they offer as specials, depending on the day of the week. It doesnt have many beers on draft, and their overall selection is pretty minimal. However, from the bar youre able to get an *excellent* view of the stage without having to be involved in the whole pit area scenario situation thing. Which is something I used to like, but Im no longer a spring chicken. The bathrooms are what you would expect to find in a location such as this, and the actual stalls are short, so if you stand up you can readily see your neighbor relieving themselves. I would definitely come back here to see concerts in the future, since the pricing was pretty reasonable.
Small venue but big fun. New bands, great music. Cool staff. Friendly atmosphere.
Absolutely was a blast. Went to see RED, In Flames, and another band I did not catch the name. Just saying the music all together was AWESOMENESS!! I like the fact the establishment does card for alcoholic beverages the water was 2$which I was very grateful for, the crowd was Flippin great mosh pit happening, loud hot and sweaty all up in here. This place was packed. I enjoyed the atmosphere the staff and the concert Rocked! Would I come again Hello yes!
Very small, mostly standing room which makes for a good intimate concert. The stage is right by the front door so if u get there late you walk in infront of everyone. There are pinball machines;). Plenty of street parking.
Have been to many a show here. Its a great venue (if the attendees behave themselves) the bar has some pretty good bartenders with good prices. The best part about this venue is that its small. Its cramped. If you dont wanna get up close and personal with the guys standing beside/in front of/behind you, this isnt the venue for you.I think this place is great.
Bathroom stalls have broken locks and the floors are covered in mysterious liquid. Air conditioning sucks and the sound is usually hard to enjoy. You cant adequately watch the show from the bar and the parking/traffic sucks. Its sad to see local talent shorted at this venue.
This place is awesome for a punk/metal show! Its dark and compact with great energy and a good sound system! Ignore the negative reviews... We read them before hand and disagreed with pretty much everything, but I guess its a preference. If its a clean, peaceful venue you want you might be uncomfortable here. But If you are right at home with a grungier scene youll think this place is as awesome as we thought it was.
Extremely intimate venue! Youre going to be no more than twenty feet from the stage, unless youre 21 and drinking - in which case you might be ten or twenty feet further. Great place to see smaller bands. Can get loud, so bring plugs if youre sensitive to noise.
I went and saw Citizen, Turnover, Sorority Noise and Milk teeth here last night. Its a very small venue, but its extremely neat looking. The security and staff were getting the crowd hyped for the show and it was awesome! Everyone seemed rather nice and pleasant to be around. Im sorry that the folks who rated this place badly didnt have a great time when they went here.
I went here to see a concert. This venue has two separate stages one for the El Corazon and one for the Funhouse.there are no actual seats to speak of and you should plan on standing for the entire duration of your visit. The drinks are made really strong so you wont need to buy too many if your goal is to get drunk and listen to music. This is not a place to bring your friends and just hang out as it will be loud and is a true concert venue. There are no real food choices to speak of in the actual bar so do eat before you arrive.
This should be called what it really is, the bar for el corazon. I have only been to one show in this extremely small venue and it more or less sucked aside from the headliner who rocked it like a packed stadium. To be fair it was pretty packed given its size. As a place to drink during an el corazon show it isnt too bad though
Kruelty played, local PNW bands.Pretty excellent space, cant wait to perform live there sooner than later.
Wide stage and shallow audience floor means more of the crowd is closer to the bands than at most venues. Downside is that sound quality can vary quite a bit at the edges. A couple posts near the center can block sight lines, but you dont notice them too much. Security guys are friendly, no attitude, just making sure people stay safe.
Been here for a lot of shows because they host the kind of music I like fairly often. Problem is you have maybe a 5% chance of being able to hear vocals at all. I get that getting the sound right is hard but if all I can hear is bass and a shrieking lead guitar for a band that is heavily vocals then I feel like something was set up wrong. Bartenders are hit and miss also. In the same night I was served by someone who acted like they were doing some sort of charity work by serving me a drink, and on the other end I was served by a guy that was awesome and seemed friendly.Sucks because I really want to like this place. They host awesome bands and it seems like a cool unique venue but everything just misses the mark.
Lets start with the good: bar staff is friendly and the bathrooms are clean. Now, on to the bad: the door staff and floor staff are quite rude. I dont think you could get a smile out of them if you paid them $1000. They were extremely disrespectful to performers at the venue. Yes, the performers, i.e. the people who are providing the entertainment at the venue... and creating ticket sales and drink sales for the venue. The performers were mocked and treated very poorly from the time they entered the establishment to load and setup their gear, to the time they were hustled outside to break their gear down--even though there was plenty of room inside, offstage to do so.Yes, I was one of these performers, and never will I play here or patronize this establishment again.
This place has grown on me. The staff is great, security is top notch . The shows are fantastic and I have yet to have a bad time..I changed from a 4 to a 5 star because this has turned out to be one of my favorite venues in Seattle.
Its a verry small quaint Venue. Its dirty and kinda dive bar esque. The sound quality is never top notch, and ear plugs are highly recommended. The bathrooms are odd and I never want to sit on the seat. But I love this place. Its intimate and I feel like its a unique experience for some of my favorite bands. I couldnt live without El Corazon.
Unless youre supporting family or friends, I wouldnt suggest attending shows at this venue. It smelled bad and wasnt very clean. If you have allergies and are either unable to or dont want to get a bar stamp, definitely dont go. I had to leave early because they wouldnt let me get fresh air while I was having a really bad allergic reaction. They definitely need to work on their people skills and consider the fact that some people need to leave for a moment and be able to come back. Whether its for fresh air or a phone call.
Bar prices are fair. Staff is friendly and polite. Bathrooms are pretty clean.Really one of the only downsides is how hot it can get in the summer. I dont play in a band, and Im sweaty. So Im sure they are even worse.
Great music venue, bar and punk karaoke. Definitely go on a Tuesday for dope tacos and to see jefe if you know how to tip right.
The concert venue is wider than deep, so everywhere is relatively close to the stage. Thats the only advantage to this place. Both times weve been here there have been audio equipment issues and multiple troublemakers who need to be escorted out by multiple bouncers.
Show got canceled, staff was very rude to headliner, no parking anywhere. I will never come back. I want my money back
I love the venue considering ive been going there since I was a little kid but most of the staff members are so disrespectful. One pushed me to the ground because I was in his way (Im 120 lbs). They even disrespect the bands who play there. You also cant hear much of the singing.
First time in was seeing Tiger Army. Great sound and atmosphere. Layout is a little confusing at first, but you get used to it. Expect to not have much room when big shows are playing. Drinks are a little costly. Security kept a good eye on things and did well.
Good venue. Sound is good, staff is friendly. Gets ridiculously hot at times, so with longer shows, or shows with longer set-times, prepare to get fairly warm. Drinks are very reasonably priced.
Ive been here for two shows (going to my 3rd tonight) and so far and they were both pretty kick ass! Its not the biggest place and if a show is sold out it gets HOT and crowded in there but Ive been seeing shows for years and realize thats part of the experience when you see a show. The shows are also cheap. I dont think Ive paid more than $27 so far for the bands Ive seen. Ive never had any issues w/ any of the staff at El Corazon. The only issue I had was that there wasnt a coat check when I got there. Thank god I had room in my saddle bags.
Love the fun house new and old, saw a great show here (heart and lung yea boiii) and the staff were very nice as always
The place is a dump. Interior decor is nonexistent, restrooms are horrible, hot, poor ventilation, no air conditioning. And its waaaay too loud for the kind of music they are playing. Its just physically harmful to cram concert acoustics in a room the size of a car garage. They get good bands, though. I have no idea how.
Getting to this place in seattle traffic is an absolute nightmare. The bathroom stalls are half height and can be seen from the hallway. Being able to make eye contact with people walking by while going to the restroom is insane. Above average sound quality. Going to the effort of making this place all-ages is a plus for me.
It’s small, hot and loud but feels punk. I love coming here! There’s a brunette bartender that’s been there for awhile who is an absolute doll! She’s the best! But like other reviewers have said... don’t go to the blonde bartender for anything. She has zero personality for that type of work, completely rude and even looks annoyed to be serving you.
The fun house reminds me of the Seattle golden age of grunge rock. If that is what you want, this place is perfect. Its a gungy, dark, obscenely loud, space with nearly standing room only. There is zero ventilation so prepare to sweat and be sweat on by others on a summer night. Sticky floors from all the spilt booze but pleanty of fast bar tenders swinging it.It is a small, awkward space for live music. The small stage is crammed into an equally awkward space with the small hallway to the exit stage left. The audience floor is divided in two spaces by a wall and by no means a perfect music venue but a perfect reminder of the early 1990s music scene. The Crock, Tractor and Sunset all have slightly better venue layouts but lets face it, you go where the band you want to see is playing...
I have been here about 5 times over the span of a decade and each other experience has been home any previous. Always different with each visit. Most my past visits left me annoyed with the venue, rude staff... However my most recent was much more pleasurable. I think this place needs a little more consistency and it would be perfect.
The staff is ALWAYS rude! We were supposed to be on stage and couldnt get in the door and no one knew who to talk to they never know who to talk to. No one takes pride in there job there and they certainly dont care about the customer or performers. This place needs to dump their worthless employees and get people who will actually be happy to have a job. The chick at the door is totally worthless and always has been! I dont even drink here I refuse to give my money to a place that doesnt need it. The venue is ok as long as u dont use the girls bathroom god only knows whats growing in there yuck! We get a room within walking distance so we can drink in between sets and use a clean bathroom. Hopefully with the new partner coming in these issues will get addressed.
Great dive bar, fantastic shows, great staff. Would have appreciated slightly more attention to restrooms during the last show I saw--womens restroom ran out of toilet paper right before the headliner, was not replenished .
I dont know why everybody is so pissy about this place. Its a grungy metal bar! Its supposed to be hot and cramped! The bands are in your face and the crowd usually rocks. As for service, Ive never had trouble getting a drink. If you want a fancy experience, go pay $100+ to see some washed up act at one of the large arenas. Ill keep my grungy metal bar, thank you very much.
Ive been here umpteen million times in the past 10+ years and have always had a good time. Staff has always been nice and helpful. Yes, its small, but its also up close and personal. I love this venue and will keep coming back again and again.
This place is like a safe space for me. its kinda dirty and grungey but thats what makes it great. it kind of sucks for sold out shows because its so packed but its such a fun venue in general. if youre kind and respectful, the staff is amazing.
Venue layout is a bit wonky, but the sound quality is great and there are plenty of good local brews on tap. Friendly service and a wide range of great lesser-known artists performing in a fun, intimate venue.
Fun venue that hosts all ages shows. My band Spirits had a blast here!
Not a fan of this place. Bar tenders are rude . However there was a new bartender who had fantastic customer service skills. There was an asian security bouncer the two nights i went and he was trying to cause fights with 3 seperate patrons. Not sure if he has ever been trained properly on how to be an actual security guard but im sure it doesnt mean to start fights with the people paying good money to see the shows. I do not reccomend this place based on my observations and experience
If I could give a zero I would. You canceled a band after they set up. Your venue is the lowest of the low. Unprofessional venue.
Layout of the venue itself is a bit wonky, but it adds to the character of this place. This is pretty much the only venue in town that hosts heavy metal/screamo bands. Parking is usually pretty easy to find within walking distance.
I LOVE THIS CLUB!!!!! I was there for the insane Less Than Jake and Face to Face show. It reminded me of all the wicked punk clubs and bars I used to frequent back in the day in Boston, Providence, and other east coast digs. One plea - more fans, less (or how about no) halogen spotlights. I felt like I had a sunburn from the light beaming down on me. Crazy hot up in there.
One massive grip about the place... They had another band playing in the bar attached to the show area that was so load we could not hear the band we had come to see speak between songs. One quieter song that was very a special to hear was ruined by the noiseAdd to that the acoustics and PA system are really bad. They have tried to fix the bad acoustics with volume and power to the PA... result is flat and unpleasantly loud. The staff are rude, unhelpful and uncommunicative. They have rules that they dont feel the need to explain until too late. The all ages rules / setup are especially frustrating.
Although a complete craphole, this is probably my favorite venue in Seattle due to its size. It is extremely small and intimate should one of your favorite bands come through here. Ive seen many greats here.
This place is great. I honestly love the Funhouse side more than the Corezon side but both get some great metal and other music. If you want to go to a lot of shows the VIP is very worth.
The door guy ruined our entire evening at El Corazon. I had my temporary license, which if you live in WA state is a piece of paper. So I hand that and my old license which isn’t even expired but was punched when I went to get a new one (changed address) to him to get into the bar area and he says he can’t accept it. Im like ok whatever that’s fine. My boyfriend went in because his ID was “normal” and they told him after he closes his tab out that he can’t open another. He only had two drinks, what place doesn’t run your card more than once?! A place that doesn’t want to make any money obviously. Luckily there is another bar across the way so he was able to go there without any problems without running his card more than once. Overall. This place is just as bad as it looks.
A close friend got ripped off by being handed $25 less than she was supposed to get yesterday. On complaining, she was told oh theres no way of knowing what actually happened. To make things worse, there was obviously poor security around the area because she was inappropriately groped while at the venue. Would not recommend this place at all. Stay away.
The bouncer at the door (fat white guy with a shaved head and big beard) claimed my ID was fake and almost did not return to me. Looking at other reviews I know I am not the first person this has happened too, I believe they are doing this on purpose to keep certain types of people out. If they try to take your money and ID your best bet is to call the police, or just stay away from this place.
Nostalgia is all I can think of when I go to this place. I used to go to El Corazon once a week or so growing up and this place is pretty much exactly the same. So its nice to have sort of thing in a town that isnt remotely the same as it was even ten years ago.
I wouldnt bother calling them. Called them twice this week and they said they would be selling tickets at the door and then hung up on me. Called them the day of the show just to double check since I dont live in Seattle and wouldnt want to drive there and end up not able to get inside. The lady on the phone said a flat Nope! Then hung up on me. Worst customer service ever.
Went here to see some bands. Had a great time!
I saw security attack and grab several patrons and one of the performers while I was there. The security is violent and extremely aggressive. You are more likely to be attacked by staff than other patrons. Worst experience ever if you like to be grabbed and degraded by the staff then this is the place for you.
The Funhouse/El Corazon experience has changed little since it was known as the Offramp: loud live music, expensive wee little drinks, nowhere to sit when you get tired of sweaty thrashing around. I suppose at my advanced age, it is more important than it used to be to find a spot to rest my weary bones, and perhaps it is also my age talking when I am shocked at an $8 well drink. Regardless, this is a landmark in the Seattle scene that should be a required visit for music fans. Note: I am delighted to say the ladies room HAS changed tremendously FOR THE BETTER. Clean, working, well stocked toilets and decent lighting. Hallelujah!
Cancelled a show citing bus parking issues AFTER the artist had already set up. Would give less than one star if I could.
I started going to the Funhouse back in the old location on 5th. I was happy to see that it was reborn next to El Corazon. From Derby girls to punk and metal shows, the Funhouse never disappointed. Beers, shots, and gritty music on hot summer nights will never be the same again.
This place is trashy... and it’s perfect for the music and crowd it draws. Great shows and variety and mostly friendly crowd (depends on the show...) don’t expect any frills and go to Razzis Pizza next door for food beforehand 👌
El Crapazon says it all. The dirtiest place on earth. Plus the geniuses keep cutting from the best places to see the stage to put junk there. If you happen to be there in the summer or when it is oversold, be prepared to cook, because ventilation is too expensive to use. Speaking of oversold, if the band is known, expect the place to be packed like sardines canned. The greed has no limits there and one if these days a disaster will strike. In short, these is the worst venue in Seattle, go there only if you really love the band.
I stumbled into this place after a show at another place close to it. Some weird but cool music was playing, they had vinyl for sale, everyone was hella chill. Super awesome venue.
One of my favorite venues!Always has been.
Great place to get up-close-and-personal with your favorite bands and the ones you didnt know you liked! Decent prices awesome atmosphere definitely check it out if youve never been!!
Not joking! This is by far the jankiest venue ever. They screw the bands, the are so mean!! I wouldnt organize another show there if someone had a gun to my head. They told us 85% of door after 250 is met. They made well over 600 and told us because of other costs... they were giving us nothing. HATE THIS PLACE!
We went here for the pancakes-booze art show and while there were definitely many interesting works, we couldnt enjoy them because of a very rude bartender. Here’s our story. We first got two drinks (cider and a beer), which were 10$, opened tab (which here means giving away your credit card btw). Then we came second time for the exactly same drinks. Pointed to the same tap drinks. The girl gave us a beer in a bottle instead and we asked if there wasnt beer from the tap. She answered really rude If Im giving you in a bottle, what do you think???, and that you should have told before that you want from tap (well, pointing to tap section isn’t obvious I guess). We mentioned that she’s a little bit rude and asked to close our bill, which took her 5 more minutes, when she was constantly repeating “I’ll show you”. Then when she returned our bill and credit card, we realised she overcharged us 4$ (bill suddenly became 24). We asked about it and she said that cider is 8 and beer 4, even thought before she told prices herself as 6 and 4. We asked how it suddenly became more expensive and instead of giving us any response she asked to throw us out of the place altogether.Fortunately we got to talk with another guy, who let us at least finish our drinks before asking us to go (but we had to literally rush with drinking). He returned us our overcharged 4$ and even asked if we want to look around one more time before going. Even though that guy was really nice, the mood was ruined. After being treated so rude and getting asked to leave with no reason, we didn’t want to see any of the artworks. We got our 4$ back, but nobody will return 20$ wasted ticket money and ruined mood for the remaining of the evening.Avoid the El corazon/The Funhouse as much as you can, unless you want to ruin your day! I’ll repeat, I have never been treated so unfair before, NEVER!
El Corazon oversells their shows and dont care what you think about it. If you actually want to see a show, go to any other venue. If a show says Sold Out, realize that the venue will be filled to over capacity.
I am fing angry! My daughter has never been to a concert by herself. This was her first because we live in Salem and her friend lives in Seattle so we bought tickets to Melanie Martinez for her friends birthday and had been planning this surprise for months!I paid extra for a meet and greet which never happened because they didnt realize they couldnt go to a certain area and come back I guess? I just wish the security people wouldnt have such giant heads and would have listened and let them have the whole experience that I paid and we planned for!!!!!They LOVE Melanie and SHE was fantastic. El Corazon, you are NOT fantastic
Its a good little spot you get what you pay for.youll have an up front close view at the band. Ive heard the wait staff and bartenders were rude and read reviews but I have nothing but good things to say about the people I met inside. Be curious and you will get it in return.
Used to love this place years ago. Has gotten worse and worse with employment. Employees pick fights in pits, people with flashlights stay in mosh pits and push people around. The most unprofessional venue i have even been to now.
Small venue with great sound and reasonable drink prices. You really get to see bands up close and personal.
A spectacular dive! If you are looking for fancy, this aint it. Straightforward loud music is here and its great..
Divey goodness, a dive with live music is only as good as the staff and they were excellent when I was there.
Good place to see a show but its not all ages. So if your trying to get your kids to a punk show youll have to go elsewhere
Be warned that Funhouse and El Corazon are now separate business and venues. Just because you bought a ticket for one venue does not mean you can enter the other, even though they are all one building. I went to a concert at El Corazon, and didnt eat before because their website said El Corazon has a full kitchen. The kitchen is in Funhouse, and so I was not allowed to eat. I would have had to buy a ticket to the show at Funhouse. So I had to leave to get food. Oh yeah, and they dont stamp you so no reentry. Note to the business owners: If your website says there is food for everyone, make there be food for everyone or update your website. This place used to be cool. Its just another footnote in the sad story of how Seattle is losing everything that made it enjoyable. Just dont go here, this place is BS.
Bartender had to make $$$$$¢40 cents tonight. So I came here on may sixth 2018 for Puddle of Mudd show (brought my headphones in case they are lip syncng tonight, that way it will sound really good as I can listen to my library and pretend its really them). Asked male bartender for two dollars in quarters to play pinball. He gets out his change box, turns away from me, opens a fresh roll of quarters. He then hands me 6 quarters and 2 nickles mixed in (thinking its a NICKLE BACK SHOW!!! at this point). Anyways long story short. I would have tipped him quite well tonight, but now he can enjoy that whole $.40 cents and save up for a Costco hotdog.Read the reviews, as I did.I was expecting bad service but I was thinking it would be while getting drinks.
The venue is a complete dump and the staff provides horrible customer service. Ive never been treated with such disrespect as a patron at a concert. I strongly recommend avoiding this place.
Awesome experience at the Iced Earth show on March 5th. I would especially like to thank the security gentlemen who was a big help with my wheelchair.
Am a 31 year old adult from out of state. I attended with my drivers license and passport. they told me my license was fake, took my money and license and kicked me out. I was forced to call the police to resolve the situation. Giant pain in the ass and waste of a night for no reason. I was threatened physically during this twice. Once the police showed up, they got me my money and property back. Yuck. They have since lied to the Better Business Bureau about the event in reply to my complaint, claiming that I WAS underage and that they called the police on me. Laughable. The police have confirmed that the only call made to 109 Eastlake Ave E on 1/12/17 was me. I feel like Im in 1984 for trying to attend a hardcore show lol. Admit when youre wrong, El Corazon.
What a dirty b*tthole of a venue. Im amazed the venue hasnt been sued for the extreme violence they perpetrate on customers for little to no reason at all. Sooner or later theyre going to man handle the wrong person in the wrong way and they will lose everything they have in court. Just the massive amount of reviews complaining of the violence the bouncers partake in is evidence in itself. Yes, owners of El Corazon I hope youre reading this. You need to straighten things up before someone gets killed.
Good atmosphere, staff supports moshers and even interacts; ejections only occur when mosher(s) get out of hand. Sound could be better but a safe, fun show is more important
During the concert on March 25, 2014, I was introduced to El Corazon and the least I can say is I pray they are run out of business. Their bouncers had a tendency of manhandling literally EVERY person that they saw- there was not one person in the club who their perverted bar guard kept his hands off of. The people near the doors assaulted a man and woman on the street and sidewalk, beyond their property, in addition to threatening to break every bone in a womans hand. Im never going back to this dump!
Entertainment Central... This venue has taken a beat down but lets be real... people dont come here for the ambiance but instead the great music with close-up action to the stage. The drinks are pouring and the melodies are playing - what more do you want?
This is a great music venue. I had fun here
Whos being greedy here.... El Corazon or the dancers? How hard is it to reschedule? I dont plan on ever going to another Hunk show at El Corazon or anywhere! So fin lame that youre risking youre dancers and the publics safety for a freakin dollar. I hope you like the negative publicity on here and on fb Good luck!! you guys know how bad the weather is because of the snow!!
Enjoy this venue while you can, it is not long for this world. To be knocked down for luxury condos. It is said it will reopen, but it is hard to imagine that the residents of luxury condos will tolerate the noise and clientele.
Small venue. Sounds not great. Staff was ok. Sticks to a strict time schedule. Was done before 11pm. Not my fav.
Its not setup well to view the stage. The drinks are good, but weak. I liked the old location better, although I know the move wasnt their fault.
One of the most underrated venues in all of Washington State. They show everything from smaller bands like Sonancy to bands with big names like Beartooth. Get ready to sweat in the Fun House!!
Its a dive, but also a fun place to watch live bands. Located in a bad part of town so be careful where you park and dont leave any valuables showing.
Best place to see most big punk bands. Security is retarded... Security was eying my girl. Gets behind her and trys to grab her ass. I step in between them, no eye contact I just got in between the two cuz he was gunna grab her butt! He grabs me by my neck and throws me aside. So I tell him thats my wife and get in between them again the dude threatens me of being kicked out. Other security comes and calms him down. But also kick me out for starting a fight? Security... U suck at life
One of my favorite places to go see a band play. The sound quality is good, the place doesnt get as inhumanely hot as some others, and the staff is cool.
They have very rude staff. When we came on Cinco de Mayo one of the waitresses literally shoved my wife out of her way. No excuse me or anything. She just shoved my wife out of her way without a single word.
Saw Telekinetic Yeti and Toke play here recently, the sound was incredible and the staff was great. They had some awesome pinball machines, too.
Really crowded if you cant get into the bar. Everything 21+ focused at the all ages showings. Didnt really enjoy myself and left early from the show.
Saw a staff member using violence towards a customer. Great venue, great concert experience. But staff could work on their customer service skills.
I saw Of Mice and Men here and it was awesome! Great venue for a small crowd but boy did it get hot in there!! I would see a show anytime here!!
The blonde bartender had an ego that was definitely not conducive for growth of a venu. I went in to buy drinks for 7 people and because of her snobby attitude I walked away and bought nothing.
One of my favourite venues in Seattle to see bands. A little grimey but thats what Id expect in a smaller venue anyways. Up close and personal, short stage.
This is a dedicated underground venue, they bring talent that otherwise would have no options in the sea of trendy, conservative, emo, and no soul, promote 4 bucks fratshacks that litter this territory that was once a world renowned,, awe inspiring hub of creation.thank you funhouse for towing the line.
Ive been seeing many of my favorite bands and seeing new ones here for nearly two decades. A small venue but great and atmosphere
One of my top 5 favorite live music venues in Seattle. I recommend using public or for hire transit to get there, parking is limited and pricey.
If you like rude, burnt-out bouncers with something to prove, this is the place for you. This venue sucks. Bouncers will try to pick fights, management will rip you off. Never returning.
NO HEAT!!! the band was great! but they were playing in their coats. cold!!! this is shameful! the owners must be real cheapskates. boooooo!
Cool place, security is friendly and does their job well. Small venue so youre real close to the bands.
Awkward layout, scary bathrooms, difficult to stay hydrated - whats hot to love? Bar is isolated from the shows, so BYO if you want to drink and fanboi.
The venue is small you got chance to stand next to the stage and they really have great shows. Also tickets prices is very affordable
A Very Friendly & INDEED--FUN venue/bar❣The staff was very welcoming at the Door & at the Bar! The signature drinks are refreshing & yummy!!
Great divey small club to see your fave too loud band.Weird entrance by the stage so get there early or between acts
Its a decent venue for black metal but the door guy ripped me off (upped the price) and I heard they only payed the guest band $11.....not cool.
This place is a giant turd in Seattle. Goes well along with the homeless problem. Druggies all over. The staff is rude. Complete dump. I cant believe bands play here.
The smaller of the two venues here, and smaller acts lesser entry free. Serves bar food at kitchen window. Some booth seating. Crowded standing room only at most shows.
The show I saw was great, but as a venue its a little small for the crowd that was there. Great drinks though.
They kicked me out for going out the wrong door when I went to get some fresh air I dont smoke and they kicked mn e out trying to get some fresh aiflr I spent 86 dollars for 2 tickets over priced bs when it was supposed to be 25 pre-ordered bs elcorazone suck they kicked mn e out for no reason paying customer enjoying the concert and trying to enjoy some fresh air I didnt even do anything remotely to be kicked not at all
Get a soda pop and hang with rockers and metal heads and musical loving folks. See cool bands,. Be a cool kid. Its where the diverse converge.
This place is horribly unprofessional to bands and may just cancel your band last minute. Would not recommend this place.
Why see a show in a place so small. Even if Bob Marley or Jimi Hendrix came back from the dead I wouldnt see them here.
Cancelling a show on a band THE DAY of the show? Wow. Unprofessional sums up everything wrong with this dive.
Fun location, great crowd but atrocious acoustics. Friendly people and infectious energy made up for my psychobilly experience being a wall of painful distortion.
It was a great place to see a local band 😄
Awesome bar with a great selection of music to see live. El Corazon ie connected but also separate and the staff are cool.
Nice dive, good to see old places recycled into better. Well done, great staff, good bookings, if you like dark/metal.
Fun loud rock. Lots of middle-aged people. Friendly service. A few decent beers.
It’s a small venue, but it actually makes things more intimate, which is nice. The area where it’s located could have been better though.
One of my favorite venues. They were so friendly while kicking me out I didnt even realize I was getting kicked out😂
Venue is nice enough but the bouncer wouldnt let us in to see my friends band because we were $2 short (pricing said $10-12 and we had $22 >.>). Their ATM was also broken, and he was kind of mean about it :(
This place is pretty cool, especially for a smaller venue. Reasonable drink prices and decent sound techs.
Awesome concert venue and bar. Highly recommend it for upcoming shows. Love this place.
The decorations were awesome. The bar not so much.
Great spot for local and national bands, the drinks are stiff and fairly priced. Enjoyed it much.
When I went there for a Protomen concert, it was less like a heart and more like heart of the sun. I felt myself dying in the insufferable heat of the room. That aside, it was a fine venu.
Dident get None.BLACK FLAG WasAwesome though!!
Small but a good place to hear music. Also try not to wear heavy clothes into this place because it does get hot fast.
Sound quality isnt the best but its my favorite venue in Seattle. I love seeing shows here
Nice little venue, the shows have a very DIY feel to them but with great sound.
Cool little venue. We saw the Panoramics, they were excellent! Bring ear plugs, as it is VERY loud.
Very intimate, and the acoustics are rough sometimes but its a fun place for a concert.
One of my favourite venues in seattle. Small but still has a great vibe and is awesome for moshers and non-moshers alike.
This is a pretty cool venue. They host a lot of local and other rock/metal bands.
I really love the staff here, especially the food service. Very friendly and great when it comes to your favorite bands!
Had a great time. A small venue, not great for me in a wheelchair with lots of people... But had a good time.
