We went to Barboza, the sister music venue to Seattle’s legendary larger Neumos, to hear NYC band Sid Simon. It’s a fun basement bar and club with a capacity of 200 people; there are several round booths and tables and a bar. The stage is at the end of the rail car shaped room. We went to Neumos first where band was listed as playing so I’m guessing it’s all connected and maybe sameOwner. There is a chicken take out place next door where young people (I’m 55) were getting a pre show meal. Love the vibe on Capitol Hill!

My friend and I went to Neumos for the first time last night to see the Beaches and we were really impressed with the venue. We got in really fast and the staff seemed very organized in comparison to other venues we’ve been to. The bathrooms seemed really clean too. It’s a small and intimate space which was cool for seeing one of my favorite bands up close. The sound was also really good and it was sold out yet it didn’t feel overcrowded. The only downside is that there’s not a ton of parking close to the venue. We parked at Bank of America around a ten minute walk away and just got a Lyft to the venue and back which wasn’t a big deal. We’ll definitely come back if someone’s performing there that we want to see.

Saw a Livingston concert there a couple of weeks ago. The staff was friendly and polite. The only downfall is that it took a long time to get into the venue. If you want good GA seats, you must arrive several hours early because the admittance line is long and takes a bit to get through. That being said, I do appreciate the fact they screen thoroughly. They just need to add a line or two to streamline the process

We got here and it was raining, but that was OK because there is a Barno Restaurant in The allows you to eat before the venue actually opens, but you cannot take your drinks downstairs so make sure you are ready to eat and drink before you go down to your event. The staff is super nice. Everyone is friendly look out for parking the street parking and there’s parking structures around, but you have to look for it. This is a very personal venue which I like very much. You can actually enjoy the music & hear it. There’s a couple different places in this venue to listen to music, so just make sure you go to the right one. There are plenty of restrooms, which is great. There weren’t a lot of lines and they were kept clean, which is also a bonus.

I found out about the Taylor Swift dance party that happened on April 7th and as a huge swiftie, I had to check it out. The tickets weren’t expensive, with all taxes and charges, it was about 17$.I was able to get in easily, the staff was super nice and friendly. The dance night was lit, and the DJ did an amazing job and was energetic. The sound system and lighting were on spot. The ventilation was good too.I ground floor was the dance floor area, and the first floor had a good amount of seating. I don’t have any complaints based on this visit. The night was amazing and would come back again for sure. There is only street parking near this place.

I’ve been to a few shows here and it was great but SUPER disappointed in the Sweat (Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s joint concert) themed night they advertised. Tickets where $20 each and they used Charli XCX’s new brat album to market the tickets (memes, music, etc). I kid you not in the two hours I was there the DJ played 2 Charli songs and 0 Troye songs. The rest of the night was random electronic remixes of Madonna, Britney, etc….. hardly “Sweat” type music. I’ve never seen such a confused and disappointed crowd. We all just kept trying to dance thinking “okay they’ll start playing the songs soon” but they just never did. I think it’s incredibly deceitful to sell a show based on a theme and just not even try to deliver on it. Charli and Troye have hours of discography between the two of them there’s no reason they couldn’t play more of their songs. I don’t think I’ll be back to Neumos anytime soon and will be warning my friends to not buy tix for any of their themed shows since it seems like they’ll just do what they want anyways.

I was very disappointed with Neumos. I had often passed by and finally decided to check out their Brat-inspired DJ party, especially since it was LGBTQ-targeted and I’m a fan of Charli XCX. While many attendees dressed in green for the theme, the DJ only played a 45-second snippet of a Brat song every 15 minutes, mixed in with other random tracks. It was far from the Brat-themed event we were expecting. To make matters worse, I was charged $28 for a shot of vodka and a Red Bull and vodka, which I found to be overpriced for such poorly mixed drinks. It’s disheartening to see an establishment promote an artist and fail to deliver, especially with inflated prices. I won’t be coming back.

I honestly had a great time here, but the ADA seating is, as far as I could tell, a lie. They just lead me to the bar area, which is up stairs, which I had to provide ID to access, and the seating was just the tables, already taken by bar patrons, who I had to ask to move. There was another disabled person in a wheelchair who ended up stuck behind the crowd because there were STAIRS between them and the accessibility area, which is just the bar. the bar is the accessibility area.Concert was great but as a disabled person I was really annoyed by the fact this venue is trying to claim to have accessibility when it clearly doesnt.

Neumos is fun! I only go for the parties, and havent been to a specific artist performing there. The staff is really nice. Theres seating upstairs although access to that varies with events. Its a smaller venue, no floor seating as the floor is for dancing. The floor gets a little slick because people drop their drinks, so watch out for that. A small venue, 650 person capacity, is smaller than most clubs. I went to the Julia Michaels show that started at 7, though the doors didnt open until 7:30 or so. The opener performed for about 30 minutes and she started at 9. Its a pretty old building and not lavish by any means, but it has enough comfort to make you forget some of its inadequacies. The first floor is standing room only and if youre not one of the first people in, mezzanine viewing is pretty much pointless. I wish there were more TVs for those that couldnt view the show well, but it did have great sound throughout the place. The rest rooms upstairs were unisex and clean at first, but later on during the night, it got pretty messy. Thats what happens during a show.Price - 5Comfort - 3Sound - 5Food/Drinks - 1A glass of neat spice rum cost $20. They have really cool stage effect options, and the security personnel I interacted with were polite and concise. The floor area in front of the stage is pretty small and it doesnt have the super-organized concert feel of the show box HOWEVER it makes up for that completely by having an extensive bar area with seating and attentive staff. Also, the show was ruined on a number of occasions, by people cutting in front of people who had been at the venue waiting for hours, and it was really out of hand. As a short person, with a short partner, having tall people cut directly in front of us was very displeasing, especially since the show was so good. If only we couldve seen it better. Also, my partner and I got really sick after visiting Neumos. She started showing symptoms, right after the show, and I got sick the very next day. Hopefully the sick people will stay home next time, as to not put the other patrons and the talent, in danger or at risk. Theres got to be a way to remedy these few things.

She then began to call him names and push even harder which caused my friend to fall into me and me into someone else. When I decided to get into the face of the women causing chaos she grabbed my mask off my face and then our prom dj opener basskidsonthebeat pushed me, security got between us and grabbed me and asked me to calm down. The woman continued to yell negative comments and at that point the show was ruined. This venue is tiny and better suited as a local lounge with loud music and a large dance floor. Great venue. I just have one kind of specific complaint of my experience tonight. They left the side door to the bar area open during the show, and the sound of the blow dryer in the bathroom and people at the bar was quite intrusive during the bands set, especially on quieter songs. Other than that, great experience!

One of my favorite places to see a show in the city. If someone is playing here you love, dont hesitate. In fact but tickets for all your friends. Multiple bars, decent amount of space if you want to spread out and chill. Great experience down front and center. Good quick eats near by if you need something before the show, or after for that matter

Its a good concert venue! The sound system was really good and its a smallest setting to feel like youre having an intimate experience with the band.Unfortunately, I had a hard time understanding what time the band was going to play and then ended up getting there very early. Their ticket didnt say what time the doors opened or what time the bands played. They just said 8:00. I normally get to shows just about 15 minutes before bands start, but I didnt know if that meant 7:45 or 8:45.

Saw a show there recently, the bouncers were extremely macho & jumped over the railing to grab a middle aged man violently for accidentally bringing a beer into the all ages part of the show, nearly knocking me over and hitting my legs hard with the railing, and did not apologize whatsoever. I came here for the Half the Animal/Flor/Atlas Genius show. There is a lot of space and I had fun dancing to the bands, but it was the concert goers that made it good, not the space itself. The upside is you can head upstairs to grab drinks and seat yourself on a stool to watch shows from the second floor. The downside is that the acoustics and balance were pretty terrible no matter where I sat. You could barely hear the vocals of any of the bands and the reverberation of the drums and bass were not my favorite. It made the music sound convoluted instead of clean. Maybe it was just a bad night for the sound guys - who knows - but its not my favorite concert venue in Seattle.

Ive been to a number of shows here, and it has to be one of my favorite venues in Seattle. Located in the heart of Capitol Hill, the selection of restaurants and places to drink is nearly endless. Being close to the Seattle light rail is just another plus! The upper deck is a great place to chill, and get a different vantage point of the main stage! The only reason I gave this venue a 4 star and not a 5 is because sometimes it seems they pack it too tight. Like so tight that it gets hard to move around, the lines at bars are extra long. I loved it here. Had the best night of my life here going to Medasin. The concert I went to was all ages, which I thought would be weird, but it wasnt at all. The intimate setting (because the venue is so small) really made it easier to dance because we werent all spaced out (which would make me kind of self conscious to be honest). They dont let you bring outside food or drink (even unopened waterbottles) but give complementary water. They let me bring in my clear backpack as well as my kaleidoscope goggles. The meet and greet took over 2 hours, we still didnt get to meet her, the sound levels were FAR too high, even for a concert venue. I was completely unable to hear Adores voice. I think that if you are going to have a show start at 11:15pm, it isnt fair to ask everyone to come at 9pm through an email - the original time was 8pm. The band seemed great (but I couldnt be sure--read on). The beer was, ah...okay but overpriced. The sound? I mean, what the so-called sound man did with his mixing board and amplifiers and such? Just bloody awful. The bass was SO loud it hurt my rib cage, made me nauseous. It was SO loud you couldnt hear much past the bass, some screaming lead vocals, and lead guitar. We were looking right at the sax and keyboard players and it was as if they werent playing at all--or maybe the distorted HASH that was the sound was exactly what all those fine instruments sound like when you turn up the volume SO far everything blends into an industrial roar not unlike a freight train roaring just inches past your head, its horn blasting. It didnt so much resemble music as aural torture. A regrettable waste of $46 and an otherwise perfectly good evening. One last thing: They dont deserve the single star I gave them. Sadly, if I did not give them this one star, I could not have posted this diatribe.

Their bathrooms are marked off for human use, which the locals have figured out to share applicably. Ive dinged them a star as they do a practice other clubs will do, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Early in the evening, they will purposely let people in extremely slowly to purposely build up the line outside and generate curiosity from sidewalk traffic. Then you get inside, and it will be practically empty. Q, Grimms, Trinity, and Foundation have also been guilty of the same practice.
