Armory Massage Therapy

We were impressed by the atmosphere but that’s where it ended. The receptionist was very friendly. We signed for the vibroacoustic experience that was sold to us as a “ mind/body reset” and there was “ so much science behind it” but couldn’t exactly be explained so we were intrigued. Well, if we ever felt ripped off from a spa experience, this would be it. We layed on a massage table, put on headphones, chose what type of healing experience we wanted ( body reset, invigorating, relaxation, etc. There were no lights dimmed. The bright lights from the big windows were not at all relaxing. No eye covers…the bed was suppose to vibrate but it was barely anything. The headphones played the same meditation music I listen to on itunes or Spotify to fall asleep at night! The massage or hydro massage chairs at Planet Fitness are WAY WAY more relaxing!! We were so bored out of our mind we wanted to get off the tables and leave! When we checked out the real doozy came! Everyone has the tip option when you pay with a card. She said, “ you can leave a tip in the beginning or after you pay” WHAT??! We just paid $90 for the non-experience which no hands on activity took place and the receptionist is expecting a 15-25% tip for walking us to the room and giving us a set of headphones?! It was so awkward but I was a sucker and tipped her!! Ugh!! That alone made me decide on the spot never to return for a massage.

You have to try the vibroacoustic therapy table! I don’t even know how to describe it but I coupled it with a 60 min massage (w/ Melissa) and felt like I was in another dimension. I wish I had learned about this therapy sooner because I know it would’ve helped so much in my early postpartum days- calming the nervous system etc. Can’t wait to go back!

Great massage therapist. I see Michelle and shes the best therapist Ive ever had. Shes very knowledgeable about the body and uses some techniques that I havent experienced elsewhere. The shop is also nice, Comfortable and a great decor. Parking in the city is a bit tough but if youre patient you can usually get a decent spot on or just down the streetUpdate. Still an amazing therapist but I also love the new location and parking is now a breeze.

Beautiful space and friendly, skilled, professional massage therapists. This boutique therapeutic space is conducive to ultimate relaxation!

I saw Melissa today as a birthday present to myself. Ive been to 5 different places over the course of a decade. Ive been mostly happy with most therapists most places. She is the best I have ever experienced. I usually go to whomever, wherever because thats my personality. I will go to her specifically from now on. Life changing. The place itself is friendly and peaceful. It is welcoming and inviting.

I went here for a massage while I was thereon vacation and it was everything. As someone who gets nervous when traveling, I thought this would help me relax and it helped a ton. They were very interested in my goals and made me feel special so far from home. 11/10 would recommend to anyone who needs a quick stress relief or a great massage. Very professional and great at what they do.

Great experience! first time ever getting a massage, plus Im dealing with a recent neck/back injury, so I was very tense and nervous. Melissa was outstanding, she listened to my concerns and tailored her approach to accommodate my nerves and also avoid my injury. She did a great job. Very professional and knowledgeable - I felt significantly better after my appointment. I highly recommend this place and plan on returning for routine treatment.

Melissa is truly the best massage therapist I have ever been to. She is always willing to try new techniques and no matter what she always is able to find the areas that need the most work. I am so thankful that I started seeing her. Highly highly recommend.

I have been going to see Melissa at Armory Massage throughout my entire (first) pregnancy, from 10 weeks to 30 weeks (currently). And I plan on getting prenatal massages every 2 weeks until delivery. Melissa has been wonderful and is a super talented masseuse. These prenatal massages are a highlight for me and definitely help with the common pregnancy aches and pains. Not only that, but these prenatal massages help keep stress levels lower.

I have been getting massages for almost 20 years now off and on and this was the best massage experience I have ever had. My masseuse was awesome from the greeting at the door all the way through the whole massage experience, she was both warming and competent. She not only talked to me to see what I wanted but also ensure the amount of pressure was sufficient and that I was comfortable. The ambiance of the place in general was helpful because I believe a true massage experience is more than just rubbing down the body but also a mental relaxation/welcome feeling. I had several people tell me that if I wanted a massage in Syracuse, this was the place to go and I could not agree more. I would recommend Armory Massage to anyone who asked.

One of the best places I’ve been to. The receptionist was super nice on the phone, gave great directions and was the same when I went in. Very warm and bubbly. I also love their pricing instead on time instead of what you get because they assign you a therapist that’s right for you. Everyone was welcoming and I was so relaxed the whole time. My massage therapists name was Karen. She was amazing and I will be returning for sure. I never write reviews, but reviews are why I went here and if you’re thinking about going do it!

I have been to Armory Massage Therapy on many occasions and have a great experience every time. Melissa is very knowledgeable and when it came to targeting a specific injury, she helped me continue to do what I love. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with a pleasant staff. They welcome you with open arms and make you feel right at home. I like that its located in downtown Syracuse. Easy for me to get to and I always look forward to my next session!

I see Liz as my message therapist, I see her every few weeks. Liz knows her information, is amazing in her work that she does, and she uses different techniques to help loosen up the tight muscles. She has help relieved my pain in my shoulders and in my neck. The rest of the staff at Armory Message does great work. Melissa you have a amazing staff and I am grateful for all the hard work that your staff and you do, and all the long hours that you and your staff put in. I always look forward to my next session with Liz. I would rate them as a 5 plus star because of the amazing work that they do.

I apologize in advance for the long review.Armory Massage Therapy is a great place (at least based on the good reviews) IF YOU DONT MIND TAKING RISKS! Yes, the staff is very nice and I am sure that all the therapists are professionals, and generally everything is oh-so happy, until something goes wrong (which can happen in these types of deep tissue massages). In which case, be prepared to deal with the adverse consequences ON YOUR OWN - do not expect Armory to take even the slightest responsibility for their faulty service (that is exactly the experience my wife and I had).To make a long story short, I sent my wife to Armory as a birthday gift about a year and a half ago. The following day she started feeling an excruciating pain at a certain point in her upper back, which lasted for many weeks before gradually, and very slowly, subsiding! (It took her over a year to get back to herself, with the help of a large number of PT sessions and countless visits at the chiropractor). We immediately went to the doctor who told us that this is typical to a deep tissue massage that goes wrong, and that he has seen this happening many times before.I called Armory telling them what happened, hoping for a minimum of responsibility taking. I didnt expect them to cover our medical expenses and didnt seek redress for my wifes suffering (though I think it would have been fair), but I did expect an apology and a refund (at least partial) for the very least. Instead, the owner (Melissa I think), suggested (brutally I have to say) that my wife is the one to be blamed. She said that my wife may have been involved in a car accident the following day (common...), or that she suffers from a rare blood disease, which triggered that pain (seriously?!!!). She brutally rejected their involvement in what happened hinging upon unlikely events (that never occurred) - not the service you would expect from a reputable business.I realize that this is a very late review but I was extremely busy finalizing my PhD in the past year, so writing a review wasnt at my top priority. Nevertheless, I hope you find this review helpful for your decision making. I am not trying to dissuade you from using Armorys services, just want you to be fully informed.

FANTASTIC! I am working in syracuse as a consultant and found out Armory Massage was across from the hotel. I have been there multiple times and never had a bad experience. They are willing to listen to what your needs are and will adjust accordingly. After my recent 90min session with Samantha I was a slug all day!!! HIGHLY recommended!!!!! I mostly make an appointment via e-mail and they are quick to respond.I do wish that they had a calendar online with available appointments that would show who is available and when. However, as stated above the e-mail system works good too.

Melissa and the staff are well trained, intelligent and professional. I cant say enough how happy I was with my visit. Melissa is especially patient and takes time to listen, then puts her considerable knowledge and talent to work. Shes basically magic.

Melissa was wonderful, and very educated on how to give an amazing massage. She aliveated some of my back and neck pain for me, which I didnt think was possible. I will definitely be going back soon for another session!

Melissa, the owner of Armory Massage Therapy, is one of the kindest and most helpful people I have ever met. I first started going to her last winter when I decided that it was time to take the work that I was doing on myself to the next level (had been going to a new gym, started new training at my karate studio, and had been seeing a chiropractor for years). I wanted my body to be in the best shape it could for my first karate tournament and Melissa helped me get there. As a now avid Crossfit athlete and karate student, Melissa has been able to help with my aches and pains and bring my body back to where it should be. The best way I can describe the work Melissa does is by saying this...every body, every muscle in that body has a story to tell and Melissa knows how to listen. She helps each person realize what they think is normal is not actually the way the persons body should be working and helps each individual she works with realize the way they should be feeling and moving.She is one of the best, and I highly recommend Melissa and her colleagues to athletes, business men and women, and o people who just want to make themselves more healthy.

Liz is a life-saver and really knows massage therapy. She reduced my neck pain significantly and helped me through a rough emotional time as well. Ten stars.Edit: After a few more sessions, I would like to reiterate my ten-star review for Liz and for Armory Massage in general. I walked in today feeling like a complete wreck in all ways possible, and left feeling completely different, for the better, physically, emotionally, and psychologically. All their therapists seem to be great, and Liz has reduced my neck pain more than all sorts of other treatments, some way more expensive and invasive than massage, including direct cortisone injections into my spine. IMHO, she is a miracle.

Worst place, it had a weird smell like the towels was not washed. the people that work there are friendly but the service sucked. waste of money. and also the sanitary was not good. seeing cockroaches or whatever they were walking on the floor was not a good view, not to mention, the owner has threatened me because of my bad review, she threatening saying her husband is an attorney, not a nice owner to lead by example

I have had multiple surgeries on my back and neck since 2006, resulting in seven discs being fussed. Have received all types of medical treatment and rehabilitation. Still was in constant pain and just lived through it. I heard of cupping therapy and tried it. My results are so positive can’t wait for next session. It worked amazingly and can’t really express how positive I feel about this

Ive been going to Armory for years. They offer professional massage, tailored to individual needs. Back pain? tension in your neck muscles? leg cramps? they will take good care of you.

I got a massage there the other day and it was fabulous. Unfortunately I cant remember the name of the lady who did my back but I will make sure when I go again, I will ask for the same person. She was amazing.

I’ve been about a half dozen times now, seen at least two of the masseuses (Tysheria and Michelle) and every experience has been great. The rooms are really relaxing.
