I went to go see homixide gang in May 22. Parking was very close to the venue parking was 15 so not bad. The doors opened up at 7:00pm we were in line since 6:00pm and got it at 7:20pm so not bad. Security was super funny and kind. I do have to say it took a while to get in because people were going straight to the merch and they were blocking so I would like in the future if they can have kinda like a barrier for merch bc there was a lot of people just cutting people so I would like if they fix that. Right when we got it there was a super hype crowd moshing jumping so fun I decided to join the moshpits best time ever they played everyone on the opium group and some more like yeat. Security was doing there job not messing around there was Security pointing flashlights at the crowd because people were stage diving during Sidshane and moshing. Crowd was super active. I was super worried because the floor was moving up and down and was scared the floor would fall but we all survived I got to see homixide walking out and sidshane. Dj keept everyone super active moshing jumping. 10/10 place I would definitely go again.
Went for the Scarface concert! I can’t say enough about how grateful I am for all the staff that took such excellent care of me and made sure I was safe at all times and had an overall flawless experience! Shout out to Caleb, Cesar and Steve who treated me exceptionally well and provided an amazing experience from beginning to in! I have some disabilities and they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and safety! I wish I could remember her name but there was an incredible bartender that was so sweet and courteous! Far exceeded my expectations overall
Worst club I’ve ever been to. Midnight rate was $30 for men, $20 for women, only to have you buy drinks in a small, empty room which you aren’t able to leave from with your drink (picture below, separate from main room). DJ was terrible, trying to sell his own music, didn’t play relevant or good music. They really tried hard to sell some BS twerk competition intermixed with 99 cent machine gun sound effects. Felt like they were more focused on gassin’ themselves up more than entertaining the crowd. Trash. Drink selection wasn’t even up to their low standards, no jameson. Only cash, their atm’s don’t even read perfectly good cards. Extortion at its finest. Close this spot.
I’ll be strait up honest. When I read the reviews I was a little worried, went to the Ray Volpe - Ubur show last night and was concerned with the reviews I was reading just a week prior from people that went to Trampa’s show. I was reading that they didn’t turn on the AC and the only water available was $4 bottled water.Well I went last night and must say to you guys, for 1 the security were super polite and friendly, yeah the pat down was a little more than what I got walking into EDC Las Vegas but it’s definitely not a TSA shake down. Another issue I was worried about was the venue not using the AC with it being 100 plus degrees. Guys when I walked upstairs it was actually super cold. The AC was blasting and the fans were moving, my wife literally overheard girls saying they were cold while waiting in line for the restroom (I took a photo of the AC thermostat it was literally set to like 67). The restrooms were clean, there was literally someone moping halfway through the show. And finally the water situation. For it being an EDM show, water is a must. Once again 100% this venue was ready to please. They had at least 10 of those large igloo water jugs filled with ice cold free water. Yeah you could buy bottled water, but water was plenty full, free, and very easy to access! All and all if this venue slipped up, they definitely heard the concerns and complaints and made all the changes to make it awesome venue to party at. The sound was thumping, light show was lit, the screens were huge. My only complaint if I had one was, you could not bring alcohol into the main show room. You had to stay in the bar area, which was alright because the vibe was good in there but I would have liked to have brought my drink to the actual main room. I would recommend this venue and will be back for another show!
Took my 15yo son to see Homixide Gang, and I was so impressed with the security! There were plenty around, and they were actively watching the crowd, checking on people to make sure they were ok, and getting out waters and fans. It was very warm but what you would expect for so many teens packed together for a high energy show, and I felt like the security was really looking out for them. They also took care of a few of us moms who had stayed, making sure we had a safe place to stand to keep an eye out on our kids AND get an amazing view of the show! Would definitely feel comfortable with my teen coming here again!
Pretty cool venue, stage setup is great. Security / bar workers are all nice. Drinks are priced at what youd expect for a venue, like $10. Only 4 stars because its really freaking loud, so bring ear plugs!
Bouncers were already talking about us before we got in and were very disrespectful. Once we got in, the place was divided into 21+ and 18 so you cant even be with your friends. Bartenders were super unprofessional and unfriendly. If I could give a zero I would. Never have I ever been to a place that would not give you a cup of water, especially when they serve alcohol. Well last night was a first. This place is unprofessional and over priced. Stay home, watch a movie if you have too. Not worth the experience!
Went here to see Cupcakke. The sound was terrible, the bass was way too loud. I was wearing earplugs and I could feel them shaking in my ears, and the friend I was with started to feel sick from it. There were 3 unannounced opening acts that took so long that Cupcakke’s set was cut off. Her performance was great, but I’m disappointed that she had to be at this venue.
I was there for the Twista/Bone Thugs N Harmony concert and had the time of my life. I was with Raw Talent Management and my guy Chocolate Bear performed. Everything went great and the team got much love. Security kept everything in check and safe for everybody even the one knucklehead who got escorted out after he couldnt hold his liquor. The opening acts put me on notice fr. Twista and Bone were lit. Plus, you got the best bottle serve girls and bartenders Ive seen in a minute. The bottle service girls were very attractive and professional. Keep it up and I hope to visit again soon
Went to see prayers in concert. Drove 4 hours and spent 500 dollars in gas and a hotel for the event. Was not notified buy ticketmaster, Aura or the artist. Very dissapointed nobody has even reached out to explain the situation. Would not recommend.
Don’t even bother, this place will go out of business soon. They will charge you a massive cover at the door even though the entire bar is empty. They pride themselves on a high class club even though they can’t even keep the alcohol displays stocked on a Friday night. Bathrooms don’t even have paper towels in both the women and men’s bathrooms. Bartender didn’t know how to make a simple cocktail with bitters. The bar doesn’t even stock bitters. It’s a great space but I can’t wait until this place goes out of business and is replaced. Even the promoters outside whose job is to sell you, were rude and on their phone at 12:30pm trying to fill the club. Never again. The drinks were cheap though and the music was good so the bar might deserve 3 stars but the staff is untrained, promoters are rude, and bathrooms are unattended.
I had tickets for Prayers and heard ticketmaster canceled the show? The venue wasnt even open at 8pm and I got there at 9pm and they never opened. Me and a bunch of other fans ended up leaving and trying to see if maybe it was at another location. Whatever the reason was I hope I get my money back.
Terrible! Went for a friend’s birthday. Complete waste of $22. Completely dead inside, DJ was bad nothing you could dance to. Couldn’t stay for longer than 30 minutes. Bouncer treated our group like we were trouble right off the bat despite us being respectful. If you go here you will be pat down an uncomfortable amount. Bathrooms were clean I guess. If I could give 0 stars I would. Genuinely a horrible experience wish I could get a refund.
Was supposed to go to a Prayers concert here and they just never had the event. People were waiting outside and nothing, place looked completely empty. Worst of all is that no one told Ticketmaster the concert had been cancelled so it’s been impossible fighting Ticketmaster over these tickets. Nightmare!
Smaller than I thought, but thats what gives it its character. There is an elevator for those who cant do steps. Bar was limited on the day we were there, so I cant comment on how good drinks were. Overall, sound was OK. LOVED the stage area and ramps on one side for both equipment move in, and disabled access. VIP area to the left was nice and had more space than most clubs.
Attended a show and it was a disgrace. They need to do a much better job monitoring the patrons as many of the attendees had extremely poor hygiene and were so aggressive. There were multiple fights that broke out and the women in my group were being nonstop harassed verbally and physically.Could be a good venue but unfortunately attracts people who ruined the show.
I love Aura for the artists they bring, I am not a huge fan of them for their staff. Multiple times getting into this venue has been hell. Security, doormen, and ticket scanners all seem frustrated beyond all hell to be performing their jobs. Regularly hassling and harassing guests because of their own inefficient ticket process and clunky security checks. One time I came here I was berated to step out of the VIP line when I had VIP. Another time, my friend who came sober with me security claimed was rolling balls and refused to let her have entrance.Drinks are overpriced as youd expect from a nightclub. Bartenders are much more pleasant than their front-door counterparts and deserve the tips they earn for how understaffed they typically are.The venues management is still a bit new. But, it still has a lot of room to grow before feeling like a business and not a bad frat party.
I was there on a Wednesday for Ladies Latin Night. The cover is only $5, they have a dance lesson from 8 till 9, either salsa or bachata, and fantastic dancing and dancers from 10 until about 1:30. The venue is new and Wednesday nights are new. The pic below was taken at 12:30 AM 9/27/18 with many people still left dancing... It was four times as packed before that.I travel internationally and have been in clubs all over the world, New York Etc.From a dancers perspective, the the floor is top-notch! Not too sticky not too slippery. This place is definitely worth checking out, especially for only five bucks. Social dancing is a great way to meet people but do yourself a favor, if you dont know how, take the lessons...
This place is a whole mess! Went to see an artist, YELLA BEEZY perform. Spent $900 on a drinking section near the main stage because you can not drink near the stage because it is 18+. Which was fine, we payed to be able too. The managers and club promoters assumed that because they worked there they could dictate who would be in that section. So there was really no point in paying for a private section. Also, the section lead to the stage so people frequently walked through, which was fine, but when the artist came in they kicked everyone out of the section so he could get through. It felt very unprofessional to kick someone out of an area, they purchased. When I asked why we had to leave, one security guard told me he’d carry me out? They should of handled that better, but it felt like security was inexperienced and maybe a bit overwhelmed. We constantly had to tell security to kick people out of our section because people would just walk right in and have a seat, grab a drink. The manager, felt inexperienced. If they need the section for business or their own space, they should of never charged for other people to sit there. The only person who knew slightly anything about professionalism was the gentleman we bought the table from, Rahkeem. Overall, my best advice is don’t spend any money here, it’ll go down the drain quickly. Come to just see the show and leave. There are better venues, basically any venue.
The floors are never cleaned so they’re always sticky. It’s hard to even dance because your feet just stick to the ground. And there’s no seating unless you buy VIP. And the sound system isn’t the greatest. Definitely not worth it. Would much rather go to Sunbar or Shady Park.
Great experience until I tried to get my pepper spray back that I left at the door. I was told to remember the faces of the two men at the door to get my pepper spray back once I left the venue. When I left and asked for my pepper spray back, I was told “no” because they were not allowed. I saw the man that was there when I originally entered the venue, and went back inside to talk to him. I was told that I was yelling and being disobedient, and because of that I would not get my belongings back. I waited despite the fact and was lectured about “how easy it was” to get my belongings back without yelling. I will never go back to this venue, because from the reviews I see I am not the only one with a hostile experience with the bouncers. I understand why some venues ask to leave pepper spray at the door, but I’ve never had such a difficult time getting my things back.
I used to love aura before covid. I went to hi I’m ghost and they had the dance floor split down the middle literally down the middle 18+ on one side and 21+ on the other side. I understand the alcohol part but like come on I’m not paying to be squished in the middle of a barrier. There was a ton more 18+ than 21 it shouldn’t be split down the middle 21+ has by the bar and they have vip area for a reason. Very disappointed plus the had the bass speakers out from under the stage pushed onto the dance floor. So even less room.
It actually wasnt too hot inside despite the day having a 110° high. The stage was on the 2nd story which reverberates the bass and jumps through the floor which added another dynamic. Good layout and large bar for a small space.
Honestly, one of the best clubs Ive been too. The atmosphere truly lives up to the name!! The place inside looks incredible. If you go to ASU this is the hit spot. Everything is amazing about this place. LED walls, unique bottle services and the music is always hyped with different artists. WORTH CHECKING OUT!
To start on a positive note, I like the Aura venue, its a cool looking venue were they book many great Djs come and play. They have pretty big screens and a great sound and light system. The shows are fun and energy is great.HOWEVER, management is horrible and the staff (especially at the door) arent very friendly. Bartenders were much nicer than bouncers, and seem to be the only helpful people around.Heres the worst part though, this place is usually packed when a big name comes to town, meaning tons of people in a small hot crowded space as many edm events are. THEY DONT GIVE FREE WATER!Seriously I was here last Saturday and I have to beg the girl at the bar for some water, as everyone in our group was so thristy! Tried to get water all night and the only thing they say is that it costs $4 for a water bottle. Honestly its just ridiculously irresponsible to not service water for free at a place like this with the large crowds that show up to these things. DO BETTER AURA!
Went to a 15$ show here and they gave bracelets at the door. Two hours later I step out for a smoke, and when I try to go back in the bouncer tells me only VIPs can re-enter...Whoever runs this place has the business savvy of a rotting cantaloupe. They could have gouged me for 80 more dollars worth of drinks, but instead treated this show like it was a sad county fair ride exclusive only to those deemed worthy of it or no rational objective reason.
Nice interior design. The bar at the main stage only sells bottled water for 4$, no tap water. The waitresses wear almost nothing but the male waiters are fully clothed. If you have the waitresses wearing almost nothing, why are male waiters fully clothed? Have them wear something sexy too.
Came to the venue/club to see Freddie Gibbs, got through the line quickly which was nice, but as soon as we got into the venue we realized how garbage it was. From the poor PA system and mixing of audio during the sets to the lack of beer available. The signs on the bar listed around 10 beers and there were only a quarter of them available, IF THAT. The main bar was shut down and only VIP was open, yet the bar that was open had less beer than a dry county.. Both of the bathrooms were completely trashed and did not even have paper towels stocked. Dont bother attending even for a musician who is unlucky enough to perform here.. No chance I will be back in this area unless I am getting food from Rula Bula... HARD PASS.
Security at the door is kind of rude and this is an overpriced place in general. The app that was advertised to download and use to buy tickets for the event didn’t even work and I had to end up paying more at the door sending the money to some venmo account.
Dont waste your money. Some people were very nice the promoters were very rude. They tried to charge us $60 after we already bought tickets. Go to the piano bar, much better time.
Awesome staff! Came here a couple of times and definitely will be going back, very unique! I highly recommend coming out and having a good time. Drinks are at a great price and the music is always on point. 11/10 !!
Bouncers here are completely hostile and involve police at a whim. Made aggressive accusations to my friend that were completely not true, and actually got him arrested. Absolutely no safe way to go here and drink without getting harassed and/or and getting into some kind of trouble. Dont bother. This is why you dont go to Mill, and if you do, you definitely dont go to Aura. School of Rock closed for a reason, and so will this dump.
Top night spot in Tempe AZ back drop to ASU has tight security, professional staff & zero tolerance for disorderly conduct. Thanks to AZ famous personality & Event Planner & Promoter Mz. Ally Spoon! She used to be a part of my Eye Candy Modeling Agency! Now she’s her own Boss! Beautiful Queen!💯
I attended a concert Saturday night April 1st lost my phone called the club multiple times the next day and left voicemails and no one has gotten back to me. How can we go about this situation?
Horrendous. Terrible. Worst bouncers Ive ever seen. Turns into World War III if you just step out for a second and try to come back in. A bouncer actually got the police involved when a friend of mine innocently did so. All the bouncers here need to be fired and never work anywhere again, and this dump needs to be closed. I cant believe its still even open. Just dont go here: youre looking at nothing but disappointment and potential police harassment if you do.
$25 cover. $8 whiskey ginger whiskey+sprite+coke. $6 dos Equis cans. $5 Budweiser can.End of the night: overpriced club experience. Not even a great one. They slowly increase the bass throughout the night but even that barely helped.
Zero people in line and the security tried charging $20 to get in a dead club. LOL. As we were leaving we saw a girl come running out crying. Luckily we didn’t go in from the other reviews you should not come to this garbage can🤡
No A/C in a crowded packed room. Security at the door was way too close for comfort when they were doing body checks. Ive NEVER had security put their hand on my bra before. Ill rethink the next event that is set here....
Public flyer said doors open at 8:45 and event starts at 9. Planned the entire night around for some family that was under 21. Place never opened the entire night even after confirming in Instagram. Lot of frustrated people at the doors.
No AC during Trampas show and on top of it getting over 100 degrees inside they dont give out water like other venues in the area when it gets hot inside, such as the pressroom. On top of that. They cut off the artist at the end. Horrible venue. Would rather go to a show in the desert an hour away.
Terrible venue, always dead, shady management, something is wrong with their soda guns it tasted gross, also black dirt specks in the ice. WORST CLUB ON MILL. CHEAP MAKEOVER OF SCHOOL OF ROCK. SAME PROBLEMS!! Racist dress code wont fix your business. Also the promoter is a drug dealer. Shoot your local drug dealers kids. Also Tempe PD should check out those middle school looking girls they got dressed like hookers out front, gross!!
Sorry but Im not a clubbing person but a sound system person nothing sounds even close to Brooklyns bumper cars in coney island. All rla sound systems 8 or more 5 ft cabinets with 18 inch subs jbl mid and highs crown amps that place beats any club so far and thats from the earliest 90s.God bless.
Today i experienced terrible service at Aura. I went there to have fun w my friends and dance. Some guy came up to me threatening me.. he yelled at me publicly humiliating me and even threatened to hit me next time I show up at Aura. This made me feel extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. His name was Pat. Usually wears glasses, a durag, and is pretty slim and tall. He claims that he works there and handles all the parties as well. Ladies are not safe going to aura at all!! That was not okay and I honestly felt very much harassed.
I’ve been to plenty of clubs in many different countries, and this was definitely the worse by far… Absolutely empty on a Friday night after being open for a whole hour. Absolute rip off.
Show was cool. The security sucks. They are overly aggressive and like to pick on women. Ladies beware these guys will scoop you up for no reason just to show force.
I’ve been to nightclubs before and this one by far is the worst out of them all. there were no people at all. waste of money. don’t go here.
OfficialHypeman aka Malik Dmith is an “event organizer” who scams during events. His company is ripping off local residents and students for thousands of dollars using a car rental scam. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS ORGANIZER! Scam alert!!!
A bit hot and crowded but a fun venue and perfect for having an intimate experience with your favorite DJs and friends! Clothing is basically optional.
I never leave reviews but wow this is WORST event I have ever been to. It’s way too hyped up. The people who worked there looked miserable doing their jobs & were rude. It’s definetely not even worth the money at all either. I had the worst time there. Never going back again.
Very cool and professional nightclub right in the heart of downtown Tempe. The lighting is amazing and the sound system is phenomenal! Highly recommended to check out.
My girlfriend got Carded then the cops called on her despite being 22. I’m sorry the security threatened her. I’m honestly fine with this place getting closed down. As I’m sorry that ain’t okay.
Canceled show didnt even get an email before driving 45 mins to locked doors. LAME
Read the other reviews, theyre not lying when they say this place is trash. Security is trash, the venue layout is horrible for drinking and watching the show at the same time.STAY AWAY
I go here every Saturday and get there early so I don’t gotta pay it’s an amazing place for 18+ and 21+ if your older than that I don’t think you would have a good time since it’s mostly college and young people there and our music genre it’s a great place overall
PLEASE BRING MORE HARD DANCE TO ARIZONA!!! LADY FAITH MROTEK MUTIL8 and CLAIRE VOYANT KILLED IT!! Please bring more distorted kick drums and hard bass to the US best night in years!! Please!! HARD. STYLE. BABY. LETS. GO.
Pricey cover charge, handsy security, and kinda dead inside even on Halloween. Most of it is a cash grab and the DJ isnt close to good enough for the price
This place was hell. Security was unprofessional and rude. They seem to kick people out for no reason. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. I don’t recommend this garbage can.
The place is shut down. The whole front shows under construction.Take the business down. I would not have gone to Tempe if I knew it was closed
People do not know how to do their jobs. They had a show for people and did not even get to everyone because they are an hour behind. I want my money and time back for the worst time of my life.
Always poppin!! Now doin hip hop on fridays and saturdays! I like this place, everybody is chill. Security always makes sures were good.
Absolutely horrible. Waited outside for 2 hours for an event that said doors are open at 8:45p. Then waited for the original time that they open which is stated on Google as 10p and the doors still haven’t opened. Update your hours.
Minimal AC and no free water during show when it gets hot., otherwise great layout and sound
Its a nice venue. I was there for Darren Styles concert. Awesome location Its the old school of rock.
Needs better music ppl can dance/vibe with also I dont wanna be able to hear the person next to me talk without leaning close to my ear lol
Their security acting out against the media on a public sidewalk. Why go to an unamerican establishment like this? A place where they dont respect the citizens of Tempe?
Rating based on drinks and bar service alone. Entry was quick and other employees were fine.
$20 cover charge, Very bad club, Dont waste your money. Dont go to this club. It is not worth it for $20.
I’m going here for a concert but the place looks amazing
False advertising. They say the hosting a certain event on the internet , but they aren’t really . Was supposed to be a haunted house venue and wasn’t at all .
This place is awful. Not good vibes and so many rules not even fun. Dont recommend. Save your money
Bad music, cant really dance to it, didnt know any songs except 1. Not enough people so awkwardly roomy
Worst bar on Mill. never go there. security incompetent, and thats being politically correct. why is this place still open?
Said it was open online, but when we got there it was closed due to covid. At least fix that so there dont have to be any more mistakes.
They stole our money they lied about the event they was having do not i repeat DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY BUYING TICKETS THRU EVENTBRITE FOR THIS PLACE ITS FRAUD...
The music was definitely all rave music. They make about anyone feel uncomfortable.
Had a great time here last weekend! Heading back again to see Walshy Fire this Friday night!
Terrible. It will never be any better than School Of Rock Mill Ave (2010-2018).
Shout out to manager Tyler. We had an issue at the door, and he went above and beyond. Thank you!
Dirty night club wouldn’t recommend anybody to go to here
Great place to rave, it just gets a bit crowded.
If you like the smell of perks come thru...
Anyone know if they are open today
I love the atmosphere the employees are really chill
Employees dont listen to management.
Horrible. would give zero if i could
Only 18+ club in AZ
Love it
Go on a night where theres edm.
Hot. I was there, thank you very much
Terrible and at this rate wont be open long.
Great venue!
Ooo
Its ok.
Closed down
