The Blossom was the best motel we stayed in on this vacation. Clean, comfortable, chocolate chip cookies, nice free breakfast with waffles, hard boiled eggs, and fresh fruit. It is located between two good restaurants - Smoke and Porter and the Red Mesa. Next door is mini golf and soft serve ice cream for families. The absolute highlight of our stay at the Blossom was Margie, who was staffing the breakfast area. This gem of a lady suggested wineries, restaurants, and local attractions, complete with maps, lists, brochures, and directions! We were unsure of what to do in the area, and her recommendations were excellent. She even helped us find a church service! We saw her perform this invaluable service for several groups, all while keeping the breakfast area spotless and hummimg along. I hope the Blossom realizes how wonderful Margie is! She is a combination of a concierge and breakfast room overseer.
We loved staying here! My first time out to Traverse city and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Staff was very friendly and the entire place and room was so clean and peaceful. They have a “light” breakfast that’s better than any big name hotel brand we’ve stayed at that claimed to have the same thing and only had a fraction of what The Blossom had while we paid double the price for rooms. The Blossom hotel actually had hard boiled eggs, waffles, bagels, bread, yogurt, juices, oatmeal, etc.Not only was the service great, but so was their complimentary all day coffee and cookies at the front desk. They also had Traverse City Cherry coffee available and tea. They just thought of everything and made this place exceptional! We loved staying at the room. You notice the good quality of toiletries as well as the bed and linens. All around a fantastic place
We enjoyed our stay but the amount we payed Im disappointed the breakfast didnt have any eggs or meat option like Ive seen in visitor photos. We always choose our hotels by breakfast options. I saw one buffet style option in background of pictures, so I assumed wed be all set. Also the pool is terribly cold, need to turn it up at least 10 degrees. Location is great you got kids golfing/go carts next to parking lot. Were unclear if wed back or not.
We drove 8 hours only to find out we had been booked for the night before and they had counted me as a no show. So no refund. They didn’t call but had all my info. They refused to work with me, Showed no compassion, would not apply any of what I paid toward that night before even though they had vacancies. They were going to charge a $100.00 more/ 400. There rooms were cooled by old windows units made to fit through the walls, chipped paint on vents. Very small Dark lobby, not sure where you could eat breakfast, but we in left after the shabby treatment. And found a better place. Traffic so heavy you couldn’t cross road to get to lake, or to turn left to go into the city. If I could have given 0 stars I would have.
Clean, comfortable hotel directly across the street from beach. Pros: 24 hr coffee, TV’s in both rooms with movie channels, (had a suite), 4 mile E of downtown, comfortable bed, our off-season price $80 very reasonable, plenty of lamps and mirrors in room, some protein for breakfast (hard cooked eggs, yogurt & milk), very friendly, helpful staff, plenty of parking, 90% renovated room. The only hotel I could find with closing door between bedroom and sofa room. Cons: loud AC, uncomfortable sofa bed (but fine for sitting on). Bathroom ceiling of 201 needs paint. Would recommend if you don’t need fancy.
Hot tob, HOT and felt amazing. Pool is too cold, but manageable. Great rooms and accommodations, I slept very well at night. Easy and FAST check in and out process. The only isse I had was there was little variety in the free breakfast. The milk was unknown in a glass jug for example. They had pastries, waffles, and bananas of course.
Booked through third party. Welcome email before check-in was clear and thorough with hotel, guest and property rules and policy. Complimentary breakfast and amenities are same as any budget friendly hotel. I would book this over any of the other ones in town for the reasons of location, nightly rates, budget friendly, clean, efficient check in, and friendly check in and customer service. Thank you!
I was really disappointed with the pool facilities. The bathroom was difficult to change in with nowhere to set stuff down or hooks to hang stuff up. There was multiple hair clumps and I counted 5 bandaids on the pool deck. The place looked dingy and old. I heard another customer say “look at how rusty the vents are.” At this point we were disappointed but didn’t have a bad experience. When we were leaving the old, white, bald guy was super rude to me and my family. Seems like he was mad about something else and taking it out on us. Would not recommend staying here.
Fairly run of the mill cheaper end Hotel with all the typical expectations. Where it stands out is accessibility, location, and ease. The staff are all helpful with suggestions about visiting Traverse city and in some cases went above and beyond to make sure we could find interesting places.
So I stayed here once with my boyfriend and his 6year old kid and it was amazing service. The second time tho they gave us horrible service. Wouldn’t check us in. Denied us to bring in the child and told us since it was only for two people he wasn’t allowed inside! He’s six! Kids stay in hotels for free under 9!! On top of that they claimed they were busy and wouldn’t have our room clean for 4hours. I’ve cleaned for hotels before. It doesn’t take that long. Overall it was ridiculous and will not be going there again.
Great budget friendly hotel. Clean, comfortable and friendly helpful staff. We took kids on a mini vacation to the local water park and saved a ton by not staying at the park hotel. Plus they had a pool and hot tub to use at the hotel too. Breakfast was good with essentials. Homey feeling with live fireplace in lobby. Only thing I would think needs an upgrade is the pillows and office chair in our room. Washer and Dryer on site too, helpful for wet swimsuits/towels. Great location. Definitely would stay again.
Great rooms and location. Price is very Expensive. FYI for this price you get a boiled egg and a donut for breakfast. Breakfast is definitely a weak spot of this hotel.
The hotel has terrible customer service. My husband and I tried checking into the hotel because my father is in the hospital in intensive care. They charged my husbands card then stated it declined. We had statement pulled up our account showing that the payment went through, they turned us away. We went somewhere else. The stress from the manager of this hotel was unbelievable especially when already being under stress from my father being in the hospital. I do not recommend this hotel at all. Not friendly at all. Then, a few days later, they actually had the nerve to call me up and say they were going to take me to collections over this because they said they held the room for us. Terrible, I do not recommend this place at all.I am replying to your reply. You have untrue statements here. My husband stated after how we were treated that he was going to make a bad review for the hotel. Then, we left. There was no name calling. I think it is the managers actions that needs attention. If you read through the other comments on other reviews it states how rude and awful customer service is here. Especially from the manger named Nick. Maybe the owner of this establishment should consider maybe hiring a new manger for this property. Nick seems to be very rude with many families that have tried staying here.I again would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Better than anticipated for the price. Everything was clean. All staff was friendly. The lady in charge of the breakfast area was constantly cleaning a restocking everything.
The room was fabulous, the location is fantastic, the lobby is very cozy. Everything as far as the eye could see was very clean and tidy. Bed was amazingly comfortable and the AC worked awesome. Nice TV. The hot tub is awesome, the pool is awesome. Both were the perfect temperature! Lori at the front desk working the night shift was fabulous and amazingly helpful and super sweet. The price is a STEAL for what you get! I will be staying again very soon :)
I paid extra for my room so I could have a hot tub and it didnt even work. Other than that, it was an okay experience.
Amazing little hotel! We use to spend hundreds a night on the “fancy hotels”. You walk in and are kindly greeted, in there cozy little lobby with the fire place and all day fresh coffee! The breakfast is absolutely awesome it’s a make it yourself breakfast bar which is so easy with the kids! Room was very clean and you could even smell how clean it was this is our new favorite hotel and will be returning for many future trips
We really had a great stay here. The staff was very friendly, breakfast was great with make your own waffle and great location. The pool and hot tub was very nice and clean. The only thing that needs improvement is the carpet was filthy, had to wear shoes at all times, but we will be coming back.
Very cute small hotel! We got the Honey moon suite! The room was large with a whirlpool tub big enough for two and very clean, amenities as usual. Only given 4 stars because the inside pool is freezing and the hot tub was waaaay to hot. And the complementary breakfast was mediocre at best offering a waffle maker, milk with cereal, yogurt, boiled eggs, beagles or toast and scones. Everything offered was very Meh, even the coffee was just okay. Not the best breakfast I’ve had at a hotel, But over all it was a good stay for the price! I would recommend friends and family to stay at this establishment!
Staff was super helpful, even when there was confusion at check in. They gave good Cherry fest tips. I like that if you want house keeping durinf your stay you request it. Otherwise, they do not enter your room. My family loved the cherry coffee available all day. Breakfast was adequate and the pool was peaceful. The location was great, next to putt putt and a short walk to the beach. We would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Another edit after the hotels replyBc you are basically accusing me of being a liar, regarding the faucet on the bathroom tub, we will never think about coming back. Why would someone lie about the faucet being broken, making the water pressure nonexistent. I guess it fixed itself right, after we left it just magically fixed itself, or I am a liar? lol. When it comes to the bedding, we’ve stayed at many hotels and resorts, your bedding is not 4 star. Maybe since it was all so brand new, as you claim, the linens should have been washed to soften them up a bit bc it felt like covering up with paper. Pillows, brand new from Walmart. I suppose beds, sheets and pillows are to each their own, maybe most people prefer stiff and uncomfortable, but we don’t and it was our right to leave an honest review for other potential travelers looking for a romantic weekend away. Also, you can’t say someone is available 24/7, bc no one was available at the check out desk when I left my key on the counter when checking out. Had someone been there, these concerns would have been brought to your attention. I don’t lie and I don’t leave reviews that are not factual. Reading other reviews , you seem to have an anger issue when people leave negative reviews or reviews that suggest how to better your establishment, turning things around and blaming the consumer instead of taking responsibility; that’s called, “you need a social media person who can be professional, instead of getting offended” Others will see for themselves, that’s okay.Editing after recent stay:When you read renovated, one assumes renovated. lol. New carpet and room furniture is nice, however, the bed, pillows and sheets left a lot to be desired and we slept awful the two nights we stayed there this past weekend. The pillows seemed like $5 Walmart pillows that had been slept on a million times, mattress is most likely a budget mattress as well, the sheets and thin top blanket were so stiff they made your skin itch. The bathroom tub faucet was broken, preventing the shower from working or having enough water pressure to be able to rinse your hair, I had to bend over the tub to wash it and that isn’t easy for me, a healthy individual. Did not use the pool or hot tub due to the overwhelming chlorine smell, and the jacuzzi in our room must have been chlorinated water as well bc it burned my skin bad enough that I could barely use it. We paid $310.58 for 2 nights, I did not bring this to anyone’s attention while we were there bc there wasn’t going to be an easy “fix” for the issues and when we checked out, nobody was at the desk. I challenge the owners to sleep a few nights in these rooms before charging $300+ a night during peak season. Wish we would have taken the $310 and spent 5 nights or more in our RV. Lesson learned for next time. :)Great stay. Rooms and hotel were clean, beds/pillows were comfortable and a good breakfast in the morning. (Definitely a fan of the cherry coffee) Walls are a little thin but it wasnt an issue at bedtime.Didnt use the pool but it looked nice.
We had an awesome stay with our family! The pool, the excellent service and a clean quiet room. Centrally located to everything. We will be back!
We brought our kids here to enjoy a couple days of swimming. The first day/ night the staff was very friendly and helpful. The second night 3 of us went into the commons area where the tables are to play cards and the lady at the front desk was very rude “ I don’t want people gathering down here.” We explained that there was only 3 of us. But she still said no. I’m confused about where there are tables and chairs down there if they won’t let you just sit and play cards down there. The beds are very uncomfortable. The kids did enjoy the pool and hot tub. Probably will not stay here again. As I got a response to my review already. There was NO medical emergency there was no one around at 11:30 at night. Thanks for making up a response
Im a Traverse City native who currently lives on the wrong side of the lake (Wisconsin) we come back several times a year and we always stay here as my family has outgrown my moms house. We have been happy with our stay every time. The staff is friendly even when we roll in at the wee hours of the morning, the hotel is clean, the pool is great. It feels homey and welcome when we walk in. The location is perfect for us, close to places to grab a quick bite to eat, across from Pirates Cove to keep the kids busy in the summer. Beds are comfortable and the hotel is comfortably quiet. And you cant beat Traverse City Cherry coffee available all day! We will continue to count this as our second home when we come into town.
Its pretty clean but its a 80 dollar hotel for 170.00 ( the area ) The staff was friendly, breakfast is okay if you like waffles and a bunch of carbs ( no eggs, sausage ) pool area is clean. All in all.. okay!
I liked the lodge feel it had and the staff was very friendly. Once I got in the room I was a little surprised. The pillows were cheap throw pillows... small and offered almost no support. The headboard was dusty. And it was pretty apparent the bathroom floor hadnt been mopped since the last people that stayed. The pool area was nice though and it was in a good location. Not a bad hotel to stay in but the housekeeping could be a bit better.
Overall, we enjoyed our weekend stay. Hotel and rooms were clean and the pool was enjoyable. Unfortunately, the mattress did a number on my back. Super uncomfortable. Felt like the mid section of my body wasnt well supported and had to toss/turn most of the night. Hard to say if it was just our room or that bed, who knows.
My wife and I had never been to Traverse City prior and so when it was time to celebrate my birthday/anniversary, it seemed like the best deal. We stayed here for three-days in the honeymoon suite with a jacuzzi and surprisingly, it wasnt as expensive as we thought. Check-in and check-out were flawless. The adult-swim was nice with kids gone at 10pm.Our only SUPER minor complaint was that the A/C was too quiet. lol My wife needed the white-noise and didnt want the TV on so I just went to Wal-mart for a louder A/C. But thats not really even a complaint.Overall, it has been phenomenal through-and-through. We definitely will be back for sure.
Average hotel, which was expected based on pricing for the area. Some of its aspects were very nice, others were a little disappointing. Feels like they are missing an attention to detail that could really improve the quality.Beautiful main lobby & gathering areas. Breakfast was decent. Cherry coffee was great! The indoor pool and hot tub were nice (beautiful ceilings). We stayed in one of the suites. Good size. Pillows and bed were sub-par. The jetted tub had a large crack in the side (didnt affect functionality). Bathroom was fine but the drop ceiling was a little dingy/rusted. The couch in the living space is definitely worn down. We also found leftover rotting food in the microwave from the previous guest, along with multiple large spiders crawling around the walls & ceiling.Overall, Im glad we tried the hotel, and it is in a great location (DQ & Pirates Cove right next door). With how much we travel & stay in hotels, maybe we just have higher expectations based on our experiences (2 star to 4 star hotels). Nice weekend, but I dont think we would stay here again.
Overall great experience! Location is right by a main road, easy to find. Plenty of parking spots in the front. Hotel has a nice lodge/cabin kind of feeling to it when entering the lobby. Friendly staff.Breakfast selection was kind of small. No normal hot food such as scrambled egg/sausage/bacon/potato. They just had hard boiled eggs, bagged oatmeal, toast, bagel, milk, yogurt and fruits. But they did have waffle makers and cherry flavored coffee (quite interesting).Rooms were clean, ac worked fine, no compaints. Mostly quiet, we didnt hear much noise coming from upstairs or neighbors. But we did hear noise coming from the hallway often (indicatingthin doors)-- around 9-10pm we heard a couple of little kids running up/down the hallway and happily shouting at each other, and people who came back from dinner chatting in the hallway.Pillows were weird. Not normal size pillow, more like small couch cushions. We couldnt sleep very well on them.
Had a great experience with our 2 nights stay during Feb 2022.Excellent hot breakfast with everything refilled until 10amSuite was spacious with refrigerator and microwave.Comfortably accommodated our family of 4 with two teenagers.Only thing I missed was the gym.Pool and Hot Tub were great !Check out time of 11am gives plenty of time to relax in the morning.
The man at the desk was so rude and unhelpful to myself and my 65 old mom after she had made a mistake when booking online. When we asked if he could help us correct it to include my 2 small children he got very cold and said we had to deal with Expedia (where she booked it)We had previously stayed at this hotel years back under a different name and remember it being absolutely fine - sadly that is no longer the case.I asked if we could cancel the original booing rebook properly at the desk (also knowing they lose money when using third party services) but he got super rude and defensive about my comment to “cancel”. It was all a bit awkward and over dramatic for me so we did end up cancelling and found another hotel (a few doors that was much cheaper and had all the same amenities) but with a friendly staff.I’m not sure what the bee in his bonnet was but our interaction was less than 2 mins but was blown away by how quickly it turned from “hi we’re here to check in” to feeling like we were being kicked to the curb.I had traveled from Europe to see family so perhaps my former expectation of that good midwestern kindness is a bit delusional after years abroad but I would never have expected to be treated that way.
Great rate and location. Can walk to a couple restaurants and Putt-Putt. Lobby is huge and nice area to sit. Coffee and tea area could be bigger. Breakfast is nothing special. Waffles, cereal, breads and yogurt. Not worth waking up early for.Stafff at check in/out were friendly, I had no issues there. Room was nice size and bed/pillows were comfy. I loved that the window could open for fresh air. Cleanliness needs to be a little improved....the carpets are FILTHY.....like turn the bottom of your feet black. Literally filthy. And I dont like that they offer community swim. I wanted to enjoy an afternoon swim and hot tub, but the locals brought their 3 young kids and hogged everything. We couldnt even enjoy adult swim because the locals came and filled the space. All but 2 jets were working in hot tub. Pool area is nice but stop letting the locals use the pool area for your paying guests. Its not fair.Overall a decent hotel. They just need to work on rooms and cleanliness. Im sure if one rooms carpet is that bad, they all are.
Booked the party room for my daughter’s birthday. Had tried to book for my son‘s birthday back in Nov. but there was no availability then. So have been in communication with management, calling and asking questions, for 3 months. Told the manager upon booking for January 15 that we would be booking rooms third-party in order to use some accumulated travel points. Tried to book 2 rooms so all party guests cold stay the night and was told (after calling hotel directly) that only 1 room in the entire hotel was available. Upon arrival, parking lot was almost empty. Watched a mouse run in and out of the building through crowds of guests while checking in. Front desk gave a hard time about an expired drivers license. I tried to explain that my infant and I had been in and out of the hospital and unfortunately we hadn’t had time to renew it yet. Staff was rude, demeaning, and lacked any empathy; cutting me off while speaking. They also stated “oh we have several rooms available”. When I explained I had been told otherwise, they stated, “well you can book another room now”. I declined as my family had stayed home since we were told there was no room, and would come the next day for my daughters birthday party. In all my conversations with staff and management, not once was I told unregistered guests could not come to my room. Not stay, just come to room to help change the kids into swimsuits or carry belongings back. The day of the party, the manager followed my mother to my room and told her she was not allowed in the room if she was not a registered guest. He also claimed he had no knowledge that the party room had been booked by hotel guests and they “don’t typically allow that”. 🤔 this was untrue as he and his staff had been told during booking of the party room, when I called about a second room, and at check in. During extended discussion with the manager for clarification, he was rude, not accommodating, and belittled both myself and my husband. When party guests arrived, he continued to follow them around with no explanation as to what he was doing. This included several very small children. He could also be heard from behind the counter the duration of our stay trash talking our party guests and family members stating “these arrogant people”, and other such insults. As we were down the hall and could still hear him, it was apparent he was projecting his voice and wanted people to hear him. The behavior was both inappropriate and unprofessional. At 3pm, we had cleaned up and were exiting the party room. He stood in the doorway from 2:50 on tapping his foot and blocking the way of my mother and sister in law, who were trying to carry party supplies out of the room. All the while, complaining about how long we were taking and threatening to charge $20 for every 15 minutes we stayed past 3. He then proceeded to the pool area and told everyone a part of the birthday party that they “need to leave now”. When questioned why by my husband, he YELLED “sir, we have discussed that unregistered guests cannot be here”. We had never once discussed in all our conversations being out of the pool area by 3; just the party room. As we were swimming with other guests who had non registered visitors swimming with them, this was confusing. When my family attempted to change their children in the changing room they had previously used, he refused entry. They were also not allowed to use our room, since they were not registered guests, and were forced to change in the lobby. I cannot express more greatly how dehumanizing it is to make parents dress their naked children in a common area in front of strangers. Not only did the manager not care, he stood behind the desk and yelled about how “ these rude guests we’re making him stay late”. At this point, we were so appalled that we packed up our own stuff and left our room too, even though we were paid for one more day. Will never return or recommend to anyone else. Manager (Nick) should be fired.
Our recent stay at the Blossom was the worst experience we have ever had. The hotel has been under ownership of Tom Borish and the Hospitality General Manager Nick Trahiar for over 20 years. It has been under the Americinn and GrandStay names but most recently converted over to Blossom to give more local control of the entity. This is an honest review. I do not take the time to criticize things unnecessarily. You can review my track record for complaints-you will not find many.My family and I arrived to find a disgusting wet make up brush on the towel rack above the toilet. There were small hairs in our bed everywhere (but the young lady behind the counter stated we dont allow pets which makes it even more repugnant.)There was make-up on a pillowcase. There was a gatorade cap between the bed and the nightstand. There was literally no hot water for over 1 hour because there were too many people in the hotel. There was a birthday party with pool usage to non-guests on both Friday and SaturdayThe front desk staff was rude.I contacted Mr. Trahair several times via email during our stay with my concerns. He eventually called me on my cellphone from a blocked caller ID. He stated that his staff offered to make things right however I felt the solution would be to have NONE of these things happen in the first place. CLEAN THE ROOM THE FIRST TIME. These things are DISGUSTING. We did not arrive until after the 3pm check-in period.Mr. Trahair was obviously frustrated with some of the guests from a hockey team that made reservations without notifying the property and stated, I am off work the weekend and you will probably see me tonight with the Sheriffs Deput to force some people to make other accomodations. I felt this was very unprofesssion. I should not be subjected to his frustations with other guests. As a matter of fact, the hospitable thing to do would be to make some effort for service recovery. He was also upset that KIDS were JUMPING into the pool. What the heck to kids do at pools? They were not diving. Nothing was unsafe. I will admit there were adults consuming beverages around the pool... I mean this is Traverse City and people are on vacation. I did not feel anyone was acting disrespectful in the pool area. All the kids were also gone by the 10pm curfew.Let me reiterate this was WORST experience I have ever had in the existence of this Hotel Property. My family and I have stayed here many times over the years. My family and I are simple people with LOW expectations especially in the current climate of travel. We are both Frontline Emergency Room Nurses and career Healthcare workers. We understand the human element of all of this, Mr. Trahair and Mr. Borish, you should too. Mr. Trahair, you successfully made me feel like I bothered you for doing your job. You are the General Manager. Even if you were off this weekend, you are responsible for providing the effective Leadership when difficult situations present themselves. You should not make the consumer feel belittled and that they are a bother for reaching out to you. If I acted like the way you did to me, I would be unemployed.
Always stay here each year. Good value and we always reserve a 2 room suite. This year the room could have been a bit cleaner, especially with covid, but I brought cleaning wipes and gave it a good cleaning before unpacking. First night, neighbors were quite loud letting their door slam and very loud talking, but they left next day, so not too bad. Breakfast was decent. Hot waffles and assorted cereals, muffins, toast and bagels. Not too busy either. Coffee is always good, although my husband wished they had a better variety of creamers. Only had pumpkin spice flavor....not everyone likes it, even this time of year! Hotel in a good location, easily accessible and near restaurants. Will continue to use this property for our stays in future.
Stayed here for a weekend in June and it was great. The hotel was very clean and all staff (and most guests) wore masks in the common areas. Our room was also clean and the king bed was very comfy! The breakfast bar was closed due to COVID, but they offered a bagged breakfast that they dropped off at your door which was awesome. It was a great value! We would stay again.
Hotel room was clean and comfortable. Nice tv and soaps. In my room, the bathroom fan didn’t work , but no biggie. Pool closed due to covid. No breakfast buffet due to covid as well. They had breakfast bags to pick up in the morning but it was the same food every day - wish there was a variety. Pretty sure the breakfast bags were picked up from an elementary school as I don’t know an adult that will eat Trix yogurt. Also, no room service unless you call and request it.
Welcoming lobby and clean room but dated. Front desk personnel were not very friendly. The pool was closed and there was a bag breakfast due to covid which was understandable. But we felt things were carried a bit too far. The hotel had removed the alarm clock, coffee maker and ice bucket from the room To get any of these items, a request needed to be made to the front desk. The room did not even have a cup to get a drink of water. All decent motels/hotels supply new, sanitary disposable paper or plastic cups wrapped in plastic. This was the only place on our trip that removed all these items and there were no problems at the other nicer motels that didnt.
Not recommended, the bathroom had a leak they made us change room, we also wanted to check out a day earlier (which we told them since the first day) and they said we had to do it through Expedia, Expedia called the hotel and they declined the request. Really bad customer service. They are also still in COVID times and to save money they don’t clean the rooms daily.
We usually have an annual girls weekend in Traverse City. We stay at a different hotel every time depending on price & availability. This was our first stay at GrandStay Hotel & it will be our last. The lobby was inviting, decorated nicely for Christmas. The front desk staff were friendly, they gave us the extra towels & pillows as requested. Our room appeared clean; the hot tub was great. Upon going to sleep on our first night, my daughter said she felt something crawling on her. We turned on the light & found a bed bug. She immediately went down to the front desk. The guy at the front desk asked my daughter if it was ant or a bed bug. My daughter told him she googled bed bugs to find a picture to identify it & thats what it was. He apologized & gave us a new room about 10 doors down from the old one. While my daughter was gone, I found another bed bug in our bed. We moved to the new room & didnt have any problems with that room. The next morning, we spoke to a manager to make sure he was aware of our findings. He never apologized just told us that the inspectors were there last week with the dogs & they didnt find any bugs.**Edited after response from owner: I spoke to the other 3 people in my group, all of which said there was no apology from the supervisor. They do have white linens, however at 1am, me not being professional photographer or wanting to get that close to the bug & with the hotel room lightening the linens do not appear to be bright white in my photos.
Lobby was welcoming. The staff at the front desk not that friendly. Only nice member was the day we checked in. Quite rude the second day we were here. Room is clean, small snag on the floor where tile meets the carpet so the floor tacks are sticking up. We are traveling with a baby so that was a issue we just put the pack n play over it. Room is quiet other than when people run water pipes are pretty loud. Blankets are thin so bring and extra blanket. No ice buckets or coffee makers in your room but they allow you to use a vending machine. No breakfast or pool. The money you spend not worth the bag breakfast leash they could offer is coupons for restaurants or make your warm breakfast for you.
This a very nice place. We enjoyed our stay very much. Location, courtesy, breakfast area, pool, spa, price, cleanest, room... everything exceeded our expectations. Im sure we will be back in the near future.
My husband and I stayed here for 4 days last week during our trip to Traverse City. We stayed in one of the King suites with a jetted tub. When staying at any hotel, my biggest concern is cleanliness and I was not disappointed with GrandStay. Everything was clean from our room to the lobby and pool - I was not disgusted by anything. The hotel staff was also very friendly all around which helped make our stay enjoyable. Contrary to other reviews, we found our bed to be quite comfortable. We also made several trips to the pool/hot tub during our stay and enjoyed both of these very much. The pool hours are fantastic and we especially appreciated the adult-only swim time from 10pm-midnight. Due to COVID, the breakfast was not the usual hotel continental breakfast. We knew this going into our stay based on other reviews. This was disappointing but understandable. We decided to go out and support local breakfast cafes and coffee shops instead of taking the bagged breakfast that was being offered. The hotel does have hot coffee 24/7 which was a perk for two caffeine addicts. It was pretty decent too!As a young couple, we personally loved that we were right next door to Pirates Cove. It was convenient to walk over to play some competitive mini-golf and to ride the go karts during our downtime. Protip- if this is your thing, go right when they open to beat the family crowd. There were a few problems with our stay, but nothing that made our stay terrible. We could not get the jets in our jetted tub to work. This was disappointing but not the end of the world. The drain in the shower also didnt drain very well leaving you standing in a puddle by the end of your shower. Both of these things were shared with the front desk and were written down to be taken care of for the rooms next guests. We could sometimes hear the bath/shower running for the room next door which woke us up when sleeping, but this happens at hotels, especially some of the older ones.Overall, GrandStay is a great hotel for the price. If we didnt have issues with our jetted tub and the shower drain, I wouldve given our experience a 5 star review. We would definitely stay here again in the future.
Great place to stay in Traverse City! Very clean, bed was comfortable. Breakfast was ok...they have waffle makers, fruit, bagels/toast, cereal, coffee, and juice. We were to tired to hit the pool, but it looks great through the window! Mexican restaurant in walking distance was awesome for dinner!
Warning! 2024! New people have taken over this hotel and the prices went through the roof! I cannot recommend it anymore. Too bad this used to be my favorite place in Traverse City
This is a nice price and clean hotel. The staff was friendly and prompt with service. The pool room was really warm as was the pool. The hot tub was very warm and I found myself needing to jump into the pool to cool off. The rooms were nice and I really liked the beds. I enjoyed the breakfast. But Im usually happy with waffles. All in all I enjoy my stay and highly recommend this hotel.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is pretty decent.However.There were people very obviously smoking cigarettes and marijuana in their room and made the entire hallway smell. The room we were in was clean but has much needed repairs. The carpet around the jacuzzi is coming up and falling apart. Bathroom caulk is a mess. The bathtub faucet has a visible gap to the wall and isnt secured. Bathroom door handle is hanging by a thread. No functional vent fan in our 5x5 bathroom or above the jacuzzi. Which if given the right conditions, would lead to a humid smelly mess.I paid $230 for 2 nights total and feel like I should have maybe been charged less for the condition of the room.Beds are comfy though. And the amenities are nice. If the rooms were fixed up, this would easily be 4 stars.
Despite claiming they are so concerned about Covid that they can’t properly clean rooms or allow visitors, they invite the entire community to come swim according to their outdoor sign. Which is it folks? Musty dirty rooms and I fell hard on my rear end on the slippery bathroom floor. The fresh hot coffee was appreciated.
Its close to the beach and near other activities. The room was a little small but nice. It was easy to control the temperature. The bathroom was really small but the soap was great! It smelled good and I was clean and soft after using it. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was free and good. They had a nice selection - pastries, cereal, yogurt, bagels, toast, waffles, eggs, sausage, juice, milk. Tea, hot chocolate, and coffee are available 24 hours. Try the Traverse City Cherry Coffee.
We had reserved a room for the weekend of Feb 17-19th for our hockey tournament. The email we received from Nick Trahair the General Manager and the phone call received from our Hockey Team Manager was extremely disrespectful. We booked these rooms in November and 3 weeks before we were to check in they install new COVID requirements which seems like a quick money grab and an excuse to not cater to certain groups. Because of his rudeness we have all canceled our reservations and went to a more accommodating hotel.
This hotel was fantastic. It was very clean, very nice, and the staff were very helpful. We were very pleased with our stay here, and will definitely be back!
Breakfast was ok.Room was ok.Rented the room specifically for the pool and hot tub, for two nights. The first night we tried swimming in the hot tub. There was what looked like tobacco chew and also a centipede bug floating in the hot tub. We were only in there for about ten minutes. Got out and told front desk staff. They went down and looked at the hot tub. The second morning the hot tub was still dirty and by the second night we checked again, and there was still a bunch of black stuff floating around in the hot tub.Needless to say we didn’t get to enjoy the hot tub.Do not recommend.Spend the extra 30 bucks per night somewhere else. And check all hot tubs before payment.
Stayed here during Cherry Festival, which is one of the busiest weekends of the year in Traverse City. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. The complimentary coffee is great! The only issue we had was that the floor to our room (bottom level) was wet, and the room smelled of mildew. I noticed large humidifiers out in the main lobby area, so I dont know if this was due to the heat or if there had been an issue in the room prior to our stay. Other than that, we were pleased with the staff, location and amenities of this hotel.
I had Rented a room for my wifes birthday for 1 night at $300.00 after checking in the room had carpeting tore up and tack strip showing, I did not noticed it at first and torn my sock and cut open my toe. there was rust on the ceiling in the bathroom and Thick dust on top of the closet, I had set my duffle bag up there and it was nasty. Bed was very uncomfortable and coils on the edge were very ruff. I told the front desk and she told me there was nothing she could do for me and I asked for the manager to call me. He did the next day and said there was nothing wrong with the bed and said ok how about the carpeting and tack strip he said the maintenance guy fixed the strip and hammered down the nails, when I said for $300 a night the room should not be rented. he ignored that so I said i will call the bank and he said I cant talk to you and hung up on me. I Would Not Waste Your Money on Such A Terrible hotel and Staff who dont care.
For a budget hotel, I would definitely recommend Grandstay. Our room was neat and clean. Breakfast was limited but good. There was no excessive outside noise. We had a hot tub in our room that was nice. It was for only 1 person but adequate. Had some friends that stayed in another room that said it could have been a little more updated but it was good. Would definitely stay again.
We stay in hotels often and this is the cleanest one we have stayed at. It’s half the price of the normal place we usually go but wanted to try something new. We will be booking here from now on! This place is amazing for the price!
The room was very clean and it was clear they were doing their best at keeping their guests and staff safe. In addition to the private jet tub was wonderful and very worth it. Very much would look at staying here on any additional trips up north.Bonus, the front desk staff was extremely helpful in directing us to some wine tasting. Thank you!
I had a wonderful experience staying here. The staff was friendly and the establishment was clean and orderly with their covid prevention steps. The to-go breakfast bags were a great touch since the breakfast service is canceled due to covid. We were offered a variety of items which included cereal, muffin, applesauce, yogurt and your choice of orange juice and coffee. I would stay here again without hesitation. Location was great as well, very close to the downtown area. There was some construction happening on the main road in front of the hotel so that delayed how quickly we were able to get places, but otherwise, it was a delightful experience.
There are so many places to choose from, when staying in Traverse. Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra to avoid the stay we had. Family of 5, with 3 children. At arrival, staff appeared to be friendly and welcoming. Very quickly we learned that not to be the case. Aside from treatment, the rooms are less than to be desired. Dirty, dingy, rusted ceilings in the bathroom. Light switches that dont work. 3 horrible decorative pillows per bed and a worn out spring mattress offer 0 comfort. Paper thin walls so you will hear EVERYTHING your neighbors are saying and doing, and while staff will VERY strictly enforce the no drinks (we had water), no kids after 10 rule in the pool... they could care less about actual disruption for their guests. I expected better. Silly me. Not impressed and will not be back.EDIT after owner response:What a crock..... we booked the room for 2 adults, 3 kids right off the bat. So WHERE this whole we accomodated you without charge came from makes me LAUGH. How could you make exception when there is no exception to be made? Obviously you have NO idea who I am, or who I traveled with because your response is irrelevant to my family. This hotel is a joke. Word of mouth advertising travels far.... and I will make sure everyone I know will not utilize this joke of a hotel in the future.
We liked the hot chocolate and coffee and the breakfast was fine. The staff was very friendly. The bathrooms were not the cleanest I believe they just need to redo the caulk which has some mold trapped in it. I would recommend they use white caulk instead of clear caulk.
Booked for my daughters birthday party. Called to ask about times was VERY rudely informed no birthday party would be kicked out with no refund. My daughter is 14 and just wants to swim... Nothing about any such nonsense was posted online. Had I not called I would have been in a horrible spot with a heart broken kid. Ps always pick up and tip.
This review is for my stay on May 25, 2021. GrandStay is a very nice hotel. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. My room was spotlessly clean, with everything in very good working order and had no weird odors like some hotels have. Its located on the main drag so its easy to get to. Lots of restaurants and things to do are close by.
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary and loved it so much! The ambience of the lobby was cozy, our suite was perfect and clean and the continental breakfast was more than we could have asked for. To top off our experience, my husband spilled red wine on his cream sweater and Heather behind the counter offered to try to get it out. She completely saved his nice sweater and didnt even charge us. I would have never been able to get out the massive stain the next day when we arrived back home. I figured it was garbage even though it was quite expensive. We cant wait to stay back to the Grand stay for years to come.
Great place to stay with a group. The hot tub is huge, and we had a party in the hot tub. They have Adult time from 10pm to midnight for the pool and hot tub. How fun! Pool water could be warmer but thats a personal preference.☮️They also have handicap showers that are the BEST hotel shower Ive experienced. This was a Good experience Over All. They need to offer a smoking area.
Happy with my stay!!!I booked a room for 3 nights and everything was great. Rooms were clean bed was comfy and the pool was a plus. No complaints here. My husband and kids were comfortable and didn’t want to leave. The staff was kind. Will definitely stay there again... Alvarez Family :)
We recently just stayed here with some other couples. Breakfast was ok, about what you thought it may be. The hot tube was very warm and pool area were very clean. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to work with. For the price I thought this was very good, compared to other hotels that we have stayed at in the area.
This in certainly surprised me by how it looked in the inside. It was like walking into a mid-class hotel almost. It was beautiful and warm with the colors. Room was just as good too. Beds were super comfy and offered enough plug outlets to power an electric car! The included breakfast wasnt as pleasing as everything else. Basically waffle maker, assortment of cereals, fruits, toast, etc. Eggs are powdered, not real, so that was disappointing. They offer an indoor pool here too, but I didnt use it. Small though. For the price we paid to stay here, it was pleasing. Would probably stay here again if Im ever in town again, but I will consider eating out for breakfast next time.
Very happy with our stay. Room was very nice for the price. Front desk was very helpful when we decided to stay an extra night and were very accommodating. Liked our first room over the second one. Both were nice we just preferred the first one (jaccuzzi room first night) but since we decided to stay longer than originally planned that room wasnt available. Again front desk staff was very accommodating to make sure we had a room we were happy with. Cleaning staff was very friendly. Several said hello and wished us a good morning. Already talked about staying there again the next time we visit, possibly with friends.
First hotel I have been to in ages and I was highly impressed for the price. Room was clean, as were pool/hot tub. The best surprise was the variety available at breakfast. This is definitely a place I would stay again when we visit the area in the future!
Horrible! Room & hallway order was nasty. Needed to have the portable air on and the windows open all night even though it was cold outside. Bathroom had black mold around the shower and on the floor tile and the fan did not wor. Beds were hard and sack breakfast for adults left a lot to be desired.Reported it to the desk clerk, hotel manager and corporate office and no one really cared or took the complaint serious.Definitely will - Not - stay there again!
This is a good hotel to stay at, but what bumps it up is the price. This is the cheapest place my wife and I could find in the area and that doesnt mean you are sacrificing. The free breakfast is about what you would expect, if you have had one free hotel breakfast you have had them all and this is midrange. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, there were free cookies. It is less than a mile or two from downtown traverse city. Good place to stay, GREAT value.
Great little hotel. Clean. Manager (Nick), and staff are very nice and are doing a great job at running this place.Price is right.. and right next to DQ! 👈🏽😁 (Bonus!) Walk across the street 100 yards to nice beach.Good experience. Wed stay here again. 👍🏼
This was such a great place to stay. Not far from downtown and there is a putt putt golf right next door! Some things were closed due to Covid, like the pool and breakfast, but everything was extremely clean and well maintained. We had a jacuzzi suite, the room was amazing. All of the hotel staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Definitely will stay here again when back in Traverse City.
Was greeted by friendly and helpful front desk staff. Room was nice and beds were very comfortable. A/C unit was a bit noisy, which disrupted my sleep a bit. Everything was in good condition except the drop ceiling fans in the bathroom was rusty and old looking. The cookies were good, v and the included breakfast was decent, with waffles, sausage, scrambled eggs, cereals and fruits. There were only non dairy creamers for the coffee, so we used the lowfat milk intended for the cereal, which wasnt optimal. Overall it was nice. Wanted to use the pool and hot tub, but got tired and didnt make it. But, this one night cost me more than two nights in Mackinaw City and Sault St Marie.
Pretty nice, has a lodge-y feel. Mini golf amusement and DQ across the parking lot. The pool is nice--wood ceiling, warm shower, window views, and the only CLEAR water (not cloudy) indoor pool during our road trip! Pricey but the same everywhere nearby.
Great value! A nice surprise was that the pool was open late for us. After a long night of dancing, relaxing in the hot tub before bed was a great relief. Desk staff was very friendly, helpful, and efficient.
This motel does everything right. Friendly staff from check-in to housekeeping. Great location close to state park and about a five minute drive to downtown. You can take a short stroll to the bay and its beach. Clean, comfy rooms with fresh atmosphere. Breakfast is included with stay. Coffee available 24 hours. Great variety of breakfast foods, and PROTEIN! You can have eggs in two varieties and sausage links along with many other food groups.
I was quoted a price before arriving and then when I was checking in that price increased. That is a bad way to start! The room was clean, and the pool was OK. Checkout was smooth. We decided to pay cash at time of checkout which created a lot of headache and confusion. It has been almost a week now and Im still trying to get them to reverse their charge on my debit card. The workers at the front desk blame the bank. I was able to have the bank call them to verify some code and have it removed, however there is no employee that has any authority or knowledge to do so. The cost of staying at this hotel might seem like a good deal, however when it is all said and done, the price triples. BE AWARE!
Hotel was ok,, not worth the price room are weathered carpet worn, we had trouble with very loud water noise from room above us! We complained they said we would have to tolerate it till 10pm for quite hours when the person above would have to stop using theHot Tub😂 We’re traveling and paid the same for MUCH nicer rooms! Ok place to spend one night but very dark not light and pleasant!
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Great location, staff was nice and helpful, the room was clean overall. We did have one issue that was frustrating. We reserved our room through the Grandstay Hotel website and applied our AAA information for a discounted rate. When we received our receipt at check out, the discount was not applied. Apparently their website is considered third party. When we asked about it, we were told there was nothing they could do about it. It would have been nice to know this when we checked in because we would have reserved our room over the phone or in person if this were the case. That was unfortunate because we did enjoy the hotel.
The bed was barely softer than the floor, the pillows were horrible, completely destroyed by being laundered too many times. There were ants in our room. We barely slept due the bed and pillows, and the mini fridge making a horrible sound all night. Woke up sore and cranky. The whirlpool tub was nice but couldnt make up for the lopsided hard mattress.
Grand Stay is an unassuming spot, but dont be fooled! It was a fantastic value! We needed a suite with two rooms so our baby could go to sleep undisturbed, and GS was the most affordable option. I was a bit apprehensive, thinking that maybe the lower price was going to mean a sketchier spot. I was wrong, and very pleasantly surprised. The staff is courteous, the breakfast is generous considering the nightly rates, and the rooms are clean. Other hotels may have newer rooms, but this really is the spot to beat for the budget-conscious traveler to TC.
This hotel was an AmericInn, but changed to a new brand. The facility was very clean and well kept. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful when asked for information. We stayed in one of the suites above the front desk. I thought it would be noisy, but I was wrong. It was very quiet and comfortable. I would stay there again.
The vent in bathroom didnt work. The bathroom ceiling was rusty. The carpet was so dirty that I made muddy footprints on the bathroom floor getting my watch from the bedside table after my shower. The carpet was frayed at the tile transitions and carpet tacks were sticking up and causing foot injuries. The sound insulation was extremely poor. We could clearly hear urination/toilet use in the adjacent rooms and the plumbing was extremely loud when the neighboring room was filling their tub.The quality and variety of the breakfast food was awful. There was only Trix flavored yogurt. While checking in, we notified the clerk we needed to check out one day earlier. She said we had to call central reservations and that she was not allowed to change third party reservations (but the stay was booked directly from your website). When I called central reservations I was told they were not authorized to change the reservations. We related that to the clerk who advised us to email the manager??!! Why didnt she try to resolve this herself??
Very nice stay. The staff was friendly and even though we had to leave very early, they had made sure to have some breakfast out for us. We had a suite and it was very nice. Everything was clean and smelled good. Well definitely choose to stay here again!
So far, Ive found our stay here acceptable. Location: No points for great views, but GrandStay is conveniently located. The state park is minutes away, with a lovely beach. On the other hand, there are inns, hotels, motels and more placed up and down the road here, so theres no big advantage there. Room: The room is reasonably clean, but looks like it could use a more thorough cleaning, particularly in the corners where its hard to mop or vacuum. It could use some maintenance as well. Nothing big, but enough that I wonder if the owners/management care about making the best impression possible. Lastly, Ive spotted some insects. Not any that Im worried about, but I dont want to bring them home either. Service: The staff has been friendly and helpful in each of our interactions. At the same time, I havent asked for much. I cant say how they would respond to pressure. Bottom line, theres so much competition in the area, make sure to call around and get a great deal. I dont think Id be happy if Id paid the regular rate.
The bathroom vent didnt work. There was rust on the bathroom ceiling. I went to the pool, only got in waist deep and it was sooo cold, I got out and went to the hot tub, but when I turned on the jet timer, it didnt work. I asked for a 1:00 check out, because I was having a 2:30 colonoscopy procedure, and they told me I could get a 12:00 check out, but they have a sliding scale and its $35.00 for the additional hour. So maybe they rent there rooms by the hour. There are much better places to stay in Traverse City.
Stayed at the hotel on a Saturday/check out on Sunday. Room was great and staff very friendly. My only complaint was that a childs pool party was going on from the time we checked in around 3ish until well after 7pm. Swimming for the paying guests of the hotel really couldnt happen during that time. Really disappointed. I understand the need to make money by renting the pool out but should be only hotel guests after check in.
Located right off of Lake Michigan with mini golf, Zipline and go carts next door. Rooms were average. We initially got a room with a faulty toilet, but were quickly offered a new room that was, however, smaller than the original. Staff were friendly and always ready to help. Better than average breakfast with waffles, scrambled eggs, and yogurt available in addition to usual hotel breakfast fare. Toiletries by Bath and Body Works were a nice touch.
Our first visit to Traverse City, and we chose to stay here, mainly because of the price. We were able to get two rooms for the same price as one at a fancier hotel. The location is great. Right across the street from a beach and close to downtown. The rooms are clean, it was quiet, and the breakfast area was clean. Plus, theres free coffee and cookies in the lobby. The pool is small, and it has a strong chlorine smell, but my kids enjoyed it. I would recommend staying here.
We arrived on a Friday late afternoon, and it was very quiet and cozy in the lobby. There were two employees at the front desk, male and female, and while I was checking us in with the female, my Significant Other was chatting with the male employee about breweries, wineries, local spots, etc. Very helpful and friendly! The room was clean and the beds were COMFY! We had a little note on our nightstand from the maid telling us to enjoy our stay, and when she came the next morning to see if we needed anything, she was super friendly. We didnt eat the continental breakfast, but I peaked at it one morning and it looked decent (make-your-own-waffle station). The hot tub and pool area were a nice-size and very relaxing (from 10-midnight its ADULTS only!! something every hotel SHOULD have). I will recommend this hotel to any one thats going up to TC, even though it was a bit of a drive to town, it was totally worth it.
Grand Stay was very fairly priced, and in a great location across the water right next to mini golf, go carts, and zip lines. The room was nice and clean. The staff was friendly, and they served 24 hr complementary coffee with a TC Cherry flavor option. We would stay here again, and recommend to friends traveling the area.
Great until we checked out and charged double for the 3rd night. Lied about rates! You did not try to work with me. Another lie. You became frustrated immediately when I questioned you about the charge. I was never told the rate. So Brooke lied about that too. She just told me that the queen room we were staying in had become available for the third night. I had complimented her on how nice and thorough the housekeeping staff was, and she said they were very good to work with. Im not some nut job trying to get something for nothing. I told you that I was going to post a review regarding this situation. Never did I scream but I did call you an a××hole.
Worst hotel I’ve ever attempted to stay at,Had a reservation for a week, got here early asked for early check in, which they approved, went in, realized we didn’t have enough $ on our card, but had cash, refused cash very rude like, I then proceeded to tell the man behind counter I would put $ on our card and be right back, he gives us 20 minutes firmly, I tell him I assure you, we will be right back with the money on card, he tells me as we are walking out, don’t bother coming back.$350+ for a room, not even on the water, went across the street got a room for $200 with a hot tub, & great view of the lake,Thank you to the bald headed Howie Mandel wanna be for getting us into a much better hotel by being a arrogant person.
Ok hotel. We booked the suite because it came with the hottub but I am not impressed. Very basic room, clean unless you look closely. I could feel the ring on dirt in the tub and see toothpaste residue in the sink. Bathroom is dirty in the corners, rusty and/or moldy. I would be happy if we had only paid $70 a night but we paid over $130.
This was the best overall value I have found in Traverse City. Rooms are decent but better than I would have expected for the price. Desk did excellent. Coffee for free all day was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was basic but again for paying a good rate it was another nice add on for the money.
We came to relax in the jacuzzi for a little while for our first time after hearing everybody’s great reviews and didn’t have a good experience. We made reservations a couple hours before we came as we were asked to do. When we got there there was a children’s party of around 15 kids under age 10 going on. The kids were having their fun everywhere. They didn’t leave us any room to go in the pool or the jacuzzi as they were running back and forth jumping into both yelling and screaming (as kids do). We quietly sat on one of the chairs waiting for a bit to see if they would eventually get out of the jacuzzi or at least leave us a bit of room. I asked the front desk lady if she happened to know when the party would end and she didn’t (odd considering they had a book to sign in at the time you arrive and you only get a 3 hour block of time?). I asked if we could get a refund or reserve for another night since we weren’t able to even go in and she said no and was a little rude about it saying “she’s never had anyone ask this”. I have no problem with the children, they were just having fun, but I do wish they would have given us a heads up that there would be a party going on at the same time we made reservations for. We lost our money and will not be returning.
Staff is so friendly and professional. Cleanliness is a top priority for them. Lots of chlorine in the pool. Bring goggles for the kids. Always a great value at a great place with excellent employees,💚❤️💜🧡
Inside looks a lot nicer than the outside and the rooms are pretty nice. Unfortunately, thats where the good ended during our stay. Room carpet was damp when we first entered the room. In-room jacuzzi jets didnt work. There were holes and cracks in the plaster in the bathroom/shower. Bathroom vent fan didnt work. Due to COVID, hotel has their breakfast shut down and instead gives out an insulting grab and go breakfast bag: a bottle of water, an apple, a tiny packaged muffin, and an oatmeal/granola bar. Not worth what we paid for, you can get more for less elsewhere. We will explore other options next time we are in the area.*EDIT* Adding 1 more star for explanation of jacuzzi tub and bathroom vents. While Im sure the COVID restrictions really hampered the potential to enjoy our stay, there is still a lot for us to see and do in future trips to the area to want to check out other places to stay.
The staff here is awesome. Very accommodating and friendly. Rooms are clean and breakfast is ready on time every morning. They always have fresh, good, hot coffee. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting traverse City.
We had a great stay here at GrandStay during our visit to Michigan from Texas. Lobby was inviting. Rooms are clean. Staff was accommodating. Our safety during pandemic was enforced. Hotel is centrally located in town with the lake not far for a stroll.
Me and my friends went on a trip to traverse city and got a hotel room for the 4 of us, with 2 beds. We had an alright experience for the first night, and then the second night, we had problems with our toilet. It was clogged, and we needed a plunger so we called the front desk. It took front desk about 5 minutes to even answer the phone. They said they would bring us one, and mind you we are about 3 rooms down from the front desk. 15 minutes goes by and we still don’t have a plunger, and the toilet overflows. At this time i go to the front desk to ask for a plunger, and what to do about the overflow. It took the lady about 5 minutes to acknowledge i was waiting at the front desk. i let her know about the overflow and she said “i’ll give you the plunger and some towels, and bring them back”Later on that night, about 12 o’clock we get a noise complaint from an old couple next door. We let them know we will keep it down. The night goes on and it’s now about 5 o’clock. We get our second noise complaint. After the second noise complaint we kept it completely down. Then later on the next day we woke up around 10:30 to get our stuff ready to check out at 12 o’clock. We get a huge bang on our door. And this man who works at the hotel who seemed to be the manager tries walking into our room. He then asks us who’s name is on the room, and who was running the “party” we had last night. Mind you there were only 4 people in the room, with 2 beds. 2 couples. Then he goes on to say that all of us are getting charged extra money, and getting charged for disturbing the peace, and that he is on the phone with the police. He said that he would be happy to see all of us walk out of his hotel in handcuffs. He is actually screaming at all of us at this point, when we are simply just trying to figure out how to fix the situation. He tells us then that we will also be charged for theft of the hotel, because we had only 2 peoples name on the hotel room, and there were 2 other people in the room. He continues to scream at us, and talks about how he has us on camera, and we simply ask what is on the cameras that we did. He doesn’t say anything. He then gets into one of my friends face and steps up on him like he is trying to start a fight between the them. He is yelling that the 2 people who are not on the room need to leave. we ask if we can grab our stuff, he says no. So we just leave. Then he comes outside and says we need to leave the property, we walk off because we all drove in one car, and the other couple was still in the room because he said they could not leave and was blocking the door. He then says that the police are not coming and that we are banned from ever being on the property again. Still screaming. not being reasonable whats so ever. and states he will see everyone in court. So therefor, this hotel SUCKS and the people work here do too!
This was the only hotel with vacancies when we booked a last minute room for a Friday night during the summer and I know why. The room was very damp upon arrival. The hotel doesnt leave the air conditioning on when the rooms are empty so it took several hours to remove the dampness from the sheets and tiny pillows. The humidity never left the carpet and you could not walk on it barefoot. The air conditioner was so loud it woke us up during the night and we each initially thought it was raining outside. The sink drain ran slow. The bathroom fan did not work and the metal ceiling tile brackets were rusty.
Over all a nice place to stay. The price was great! The bathrooms need updated and the fan didnt work in our room. The staff was all very helpful and kind and very good coffee. That is always on!
After stopping to 5 different hotels in the area we finally found this place! We had a great room! Our bed was very comfy, room was very clean, our jacuzzi tub was great and very clean. Our room did not smell like moldor cigarrette smoke like many other places we stopped to. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very satisfying. We will deff. be telling our friends and staying again sometime!
Nice hotel and very nice staff. Clean rooms, helpful and pleasant staff. Decent breakfast. Larger pool area than we expected which was nice. Here is our only caution.Rooms sleep 4, not 5. On the website it lets you book rooms staying they sleep 5, but the only have 2 queen bed rooms, with no sofas and no cots or rollaway beds. If we had known this, we would have planned accordingly. The front desk stated that state regulating allows them to sleep 5, but they have no rooms with sofas and have no cuts or rollaways on site. Luckily we had 3 kids and they are able to cram into 1 bed.
Very nice hotel. Great staff and near a lot of things. We stayed in a suite and was definitely worth it. Had an inroom jacuzzi. Perfect for our three person family. Does not have a view of the lake.
The hotel was fine, just fine. Pro: the staff was nice, the location is good. Cons: the pool was so heavily chlorinated that we couldn’t even be in the room, the view from the rooms facing the back of the hotel was of other unkempt buildings, the breakfast was all watered down (eggs, juice, waffle batter), the beds weren’t very comfy.
Conveniently located in the main strip, I was really pleased with our stay. Our room was very comfortable, the pool was better than I expected and I was pleased it was open late for adults only. Im impressed with the breakfast buffet. I will return again, looking forward to it!
Room had a musty smell. Our allergies kicked in. Also, while the location is close to the beach, the traffic situation is unreal. 4 lanes of traffic so heavy that one cannot even turn left to get into the hotel. We had to travel to the closest traffic light to change directions. The traffic lights are wide spread which makes the distance inconvenient. After driving for 7 hours, and finding that we couldnt turn left into the place we decided to visit the Sleeping Bear Dunes and turn right into the hotel on the return trip.
We visited this hotel once before. The first visit was nice and the room was clean and well maintained. This visit was very disappointing. The fireplace was not functioning when we checked in. The wall heater was so loud we had to turn it off. The room needed to be vacuumed. The entertainment center was broken and beat up. The couch had stains on it. The bathroom door looked like a dog had scratched it up. They did send someone up the second day to fix the fireplace and wall furnace. They had the pool open but not the hot tub. We were disappointed with no hot tub. The rooms need updates and cleaning. The shower had rusty ceiling tracks. We will probably find another place to stay next visit to Traverse city.
Brooke was absolutely rude and disrespectful as soon as we walked into the door. Our room reeked of cigarettes and dont bother booking if you plan to have friends stop in for a visit because your not allowed to have any visitors!
Comfy clean room, breakfast was scrambled eggs and sausage, plus waffles, apples, bananas, tropical fruit salad, hard boiled eggs, and bakery goods. Everything was delicious. The pool was a little cool, but the hot tub felt wonderful.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. They gave us a nice bagged breakfast and coffee in the morning, as well as ice for our ice chest. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. Thanks GrandStay! We hope to be back some day
Im really happy with my stay. The room wasnt gorgeous, but updated countertops, B&BW toiletries, and cleanliness made it very comfortable. Full, free continental breakfast with fruit, danishes, waffles, eggs, sausage, etc. Lobby and pool are lovely, with a lodge like feel. Best price in town for the night we stayed, would definitely come back. Also, booked online through Expedia who listed the GrandStay as the Americinn.
Warm and friendly atmosphere at this hotel. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms have always been very clean and well maintained. The door at the end of the building accessing rooms farthest from the lobby seldom locks properly.
Stayed for 2 nights and could not of been happier! Great rate for both nights, and the location was excellent considering their are a lot of pricier options nearby. Staff was helpful, friendly, and accomodating. Offered us recommendations on where to eat, as well as entertainment in the area. Hotel itself was quiet, and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. Pool and whirlpool are open until midnight which is great, and adults only after 10pm. Breakfast was great, had many options as well as hot food!Across the street is the beach, and the state park entrance is close. The drive to downtown is 10 mins give or take, and literally next door is a mini golf/go kart fun center which is a convenient source of enterainment. Unless you need to be within walking distance of city center, you can not go wrong staying here, and we will definitely be back next time in TC!
I was able to secure a room here last minute during busy season, after a terrible experience with another hotel, and I will absolutely be back! The rate was affordable, the entire facility is clean, the hot tub and pool are spacious, and the WiFi works well!
Great value...feel like youre in upscale with a value price. Comfy, clean, good service. Would definitly stay here again and again. Karl and other staff were very helpful w/ questions & concerns. Housekeeping staff very accommodating and friendly.
Bad Experience!! Nick (the Manager) was horrible. We booked our double Queen room on Expedia and forgot to notate our 2 teens. Being honest we brought it up when Expedia confirmed the stay, so they sent it back to the hotel who rejected to add my kids to our double Queen room. There is much more to the story....but to keep it short they forced us to purchase a second room at full price. They seemed to to be pleased with themselves even though we were completely dissatisfied. Im adding more to this review now since Nick added his misleading comments in response about it. There was a couple of hours of phone time put in by us trying to resolve this issue. It should have been a simple approval from the General Manager (Nick) to allow our teens to stay in our already booked room, but he refused when Expedia asked for this. Nick said he couldnt do anything since it was booked through a third party, but Expedia said he keeps rejecting to allow the change, so we were stuck in the middle. The bottom line is that the general manager could have made this right and ended our issue at will, but chose to make it about us booking with a third party source instead of directly through them. We had hours of getting no where wrapped up into Nicks nonsense and decided to cut our losses and continue with our busy vacation schedule by paying for a second unneeded room.
Breakfast somewhat limited from normal due to COVID restrictions and no fault of hotel staff. As Ive mentioned in other hotel questionnaires it would be a big plus if rooms with two beds and checking in 2 or more people, would ensure there are at least 2 chairs in the room. Also in keeping up with technology, if the rooms could be equipped with a bluetooth enabled sound device, such as a bluetooth enabled clock radio as we found at one of our stays, so guests could stream music or audio books from their gadgets to a nice sounding room device. Most rooms we find are well equipped with outlets and USB charging stations and Grand Stay ranks well up in this category.
We stayed the weekend, the place was very clean, room was amazing. Our stay was great. All amenities were in the room, like coffee, ice bucket, etc.... We were very satisfied and will definitely stay here next time we come up.
Great prices. Great room. Friendly staff. Only issue we had is that they had birthday partys each day making it impossible to enjoy the hot tub and pool area until after 10.
Holy trashy.Air either blew heat or cold, so it’s sweat or freeze. Bathroom had no working fan so it turned into a sauna, given how tiny it is and how hot the water got. Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. Poor lighting. We instantly started itching when we arrived. Scrambled eggs were practically powder and you needed a spoon to eat them.At least the cookies were good and there weren’t 100 steps to make the tv work.If we booked this for multiple nights, we’d cancel after one and find somewhere else.
Reasonably priced and super convenient location. Very much appreciated the courteous staff, as well--very helpful and friendly! Downside were the multiple stains on bedspread, fridge that wouldnt stay cold, and air conditioning that couldnt keep up with a warm room, no matter how low we set the temp. Some really good positives, but also opportunities to improve cleanliness and equipment functionality.
The day before I stayed in a room in Macinaw that was way more expensive and the Grand Stay was way nicer. The stay was nice and resonable price. Because of covid the had breakfast bags brought to your rooms and coffee if requested. The ice machine was closed but they brought bags of ice to your room also. They were very accommodating and I would definitely stay again. :)
Room was clean and theyve covered the basics: wifi, pool, bathroom, tv, microwave, fridge. Only real complaint is that the roof-based bathroom vent isnt powerful enough to be effective after a warm shower, which leaves the entire room feeling humid. *Review edited for accuracy as to why a dusty vent wasnt pulling air from the bathroom*
Friendly staff but not too familiar with the happenings in TC. I recommend reading a travel brochure or speaking to the local shuttle drivers. Had warm cookies for us. Decent breakfast. Clean room. Nice pool & sauna. Bit pricey but ok for the weekend.
My husband and I stayed here this past weekend for our 5 year anniversary. The hotel room was very basic and not worth the price we paid. The jacuzzi tub only fits one person, the bathroom was not very clean and the room was small. Again not worth the price we were charged. Will be staying elsewhere next visit.
Rudest management. Had a room for prior days and purchased another room, there was an issue and needed a refund so I offered to pay with another card but since next week locals will be needing to pay $300 cash deposit he said he would not let me stay another night although it was already planned and am now stranded in town.
My boyfriend and I checked in on on 5/4/19 at 3:40 for our anniversary in one of the suites for $150. We checked out the room, put our bags in there and left to go explore TC. I had gotten a phone call that my aunt was in a critical car accident and had to be areo meded down state. We checked out at 6ish,we didnt use the restroom or even sit on the bed. The Grand Stay wont compliment us another stay or give me some of our money back. Im very disappointed due to this was going to be our anniversary get away every year, last year our stay was so wonderful.
The price was right but the hot tub jets were broke. Very disappointing. We were in our room for maybe an hour and a family started to open out door. They must have given us both the same room, we had to get our key redone. Breakfast was great.
The rooms were fine overall and the Personnel was great. For this area all of the hotels are overpriced. We usually stay at Marriott brand hotels for work. Compared to that, the bathrooms were smaller and the room a little bit smaller but still clean and neat. The pool was nice and the hot tub was larger, so about 15 people could use it. The one issue we had was that the room felt damp all the time. We kept our shoes on because the carpet felt damp despite putting the AC on very low. Our bathing suits would not dry, so I talked to the front desk, but they were unaware of any issues/solutions. We even put the heat on high to dry things out. I noticed the next morning there is a DRY feature on the AC unit. After doing some research, it is basically a dehumidifier. So the last few hours we were there we put that on and that helped quite a bit. I wanted to let others know of that feature. Im not sure why we were not told of that, but it might be because those type of units can then freeze which can make them unusable until they are defrosted. The breakfast area was small and crowded, but had good coffee, waffles, Bagels, eggs - (they always seemed over done)- tropical fruit, apples and bananas, yogurt, sausage, small muffins and pastries. The location was good just the short drive into town and to the beach.
Clean and comfortable room. The pool and hot tub were nice and relaxing. I was only there for one night so I did not get to experience everything the hotel had to offer but will definitely consider this place in my next trip to Traverse City.
Clean remodeled hotel. Great quiet room. Cookies and coffee available in the lobby. Nice indoor pool and hot tub, great rates and awesome staff. Super friendly and helpful. Loved it here!!! Will definitely be back
Nice hotel near some great activities for the kids. Good breakfast, nice indoor pool, coffee 24 hours, courteous employees. Beds are ok with 3 small square pillows - you might want to bring your own!
Great location if you have kids. Nice hotel, super friendly staff, good breakfast! I did not like how you had to get to the pool, and although our room was clean, it smelled really damp and musty.
Just came in. Awesome hotel. Very neat, clean, room is spacious, clean, affordable, Im definitely getting a steal here. Staff super nice. Love it. Id come back if I was to visit again.
Booked last minute and was pleasantly surprised! They have bath and body works bathroom necessities, great pillows and bed, and a really nice complimentary breakfast in the morning! 10/10 would stay again 😊
Wonderful staff, wonderfully clean and always have a great sleep.
Didnt Love The Price but the ppl and rooms were beautiful.........Hor Tub in room was a blessing and Fun!!!!!! Also had bag breakfast an No Pool due too Covid-19. Would have thought that buisiness be white an give discountWhere You cant access all the Routine amenities........ instead....... Take advantage of a sad situation in which None of Us Have Asked For?!!!!! No Room Credit No %off on next visit........what happened to the America We All Know And Love?!!!!!
On extremely short notice we secured the Commodore suite with a hot tub.Room was quiet and clean!!! Would recommend to anyone coming through.
Nick was entirely unhelpful when we had a small hiccup with our booking date. Before you respond with a, we work closely with our guests..... That is entirely untrue. They dont care especially in non-peak season where they really need the cash flow. We will dispute the transaction and they will have lost a customer forever for being, well, a terrible hotel with terrible customer service. If you decide to go here you should pray for no issues or hope to God you deal with someone else to resolve it.
Clean room, although the 1970s lodge vibe of the hotel is a bit sad. Could use some updating. No real complaints, though. The staff is young and helpful, eager to please. That goes a long way.
I checked state law, the grandstay TC website, and Hotels.com and none of them said you had to be 21 to rent a room. I verified my age with hotels.com before purchasing the rooms and when I got there to check in they said that I wasnt allowed to stay with them because Im 19. When I asked if Id get a refund the manager said he was calling the police and that they would be on thier way if we didnt immediately leave. I didnt yell or use expletives until after he followed us outside and I was trying to get in car and I never said anything that would have been threatening to anyone inside. On top of that, they lied about me damaging property (throwing items off of the desk and breaking a door) to me, the police, and the internet. If the owner reviews the security camera footage theyll find that I was away from the desk before being told that the police were being called and that the doors were completely fine when we left. Unless the cashier that was present is concerned about losing thier employment, they can verify that I never broke anything. Not only did Nick (the manager) provide terrible service, but he lied about me committing a crime that I never committed.
We stay here most every time we go to Traverse City since its been Americ Inn. Very cleanly and nice hot tub/pool area. Highly recommended for the price.
GrandStay Traverse City is a great place to stay when visiting Traverse City. Its very clean, the staff is very nice and also incredibly accommodating. The breakfast is pretty standard, but the traverse city cherry coffee in the lobby is just the best. My group all agrees that wed be more than happy to stay there for our next visit!
We booked a hot tub room on New Years eve 2018. The hot tub was falling apart. Covers on jets were falling off and could not get the jets to turn on. Hotel staff brought us up a screwdriver to use to turn on and off the jets. We did get a refund and left went to another hotel. Would not reccomend this hotel.
Staff was friendly, room was clean but there was plaster missing from the wall, the desk chair was broken and there was mold on the bathtub calking. like most of traverse city motels/hotels there are very busy and often do not feel the need to keep up the way they should (notice the Hamptons not so good rating). would I stay there again? I try no to stay in traverse just for that reason, I might as the room was clean and they were friendly.
If you have an issue with locals staying at your hotel then put it on the website. I would have gladly not booked here if I’d known I was going to get read the riot act within minutes of stepping in. I just wanted an opportunity to see friends I don’t get to see because I’m out of town for school, and now I feel like a pariah. Thanks for that.I don’t know how they treat tourists, but if you’re from the area, stay away.
It was a good hotel, swimming pool was nice. our room was ok, one light wouldnt turn on, floor was dirty and bathroom was very small compare to competitors. staff was friendly. i dont think it deserves 4 or 5 stars.
We got a great deal on a room at the GrandStay Hotel and my wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay there. The quality of the room and the amenities was not only reasonable, but great! I highly recommend looking into GrandStay Hotel if you’re considering an overnight stay in Traverse City.
The front counter staff was amazing!!! ...... But I did get a shirt stole from my room my only guess could be housekeeping or they were letting people in my room while I was at work and the clorine levels were super high other then thoes two things my stay was okay.
Great place. I stayed for three nights and had wonderful service. Pool and hot tub were great as well
The hotel is the best bang for your buck in Traverse City. The slight price increase from the many mid-century motels in the area is well worth it. Everything was clean, good hot/cold breakfast, and friendly service. Modern jacuzzi rooms are a nice treat.
The room was clean, the service was good, got a free cookie when we got there. Breakfast had the make your own waffles, yogurt cups, and good pastries. Overall, a good and clean experience.
Very nice stay. Hotel was quiet. Covid practices followed. The front desk person handled an issue with the toilet (that I caused) right away and even brought me a take away breakfast bag! 5 stars thanks Star!🌟
Great place to stay and for the price! Only down was it was a weak signal for the Wi-Fi connection.Staff was excellent, room was excellent! Nice pool and hot tub!
It was good for the price for Traverse City.It was pretty clean. Front desk was friendly.Problems lie with..First, the lamps are plugged into extension cords. Second is the Wi-Fi, which is horrible...you can not get anything to load on their Wi-Fi.
We stayed here Dec 27, 2017 and had to leave 12 hours after checking in due to a family emergency even though we had it booked for 2 nights. Expedia agreed to refund us the 2nd since we did not stay if the hotel would approved it. Well the hotel would not approve it. We stay in Traverse City several times a year and will not be staying here. We would of been happy with just a credit to use later this winter. Bad costumer service.
Clean and pleasant. Easy check in but walls a bit thin. We could hear conversations next door easily. Good location for Traverse City. Close to downtown, beaches and airport.
Great location just a ways down from downtown but across from the water. It also backs up to a nice trail system if you’re looking to get a run in! The rooms are very hospitable and the staff is extremely friendly!
They have it all here except a fitness room. The rooms are updated and clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, nice breakfast bar and round the clock coffee and tea, cookies in the evening. Good value for the dollar. I would come back.
Great price, location, very clean & comfortable. Karl was friendly, fantastic & professional at check in. Free on-site parking. Right next door to Pirate Cove Adventure Island & DQ, which was super fun! This place is a gem. Thank you!!
Staff called police and CPS for children visiting their GRANDPARENTS ( grandparents were hotel guests) year. getting a bagel. The staff refused to let children contact parents to know what was going on. The grandparents were then told they were being kicked out. This is probably the most ridiculous thing I have heard this hear.
Stayed for 3 nights my room was cleaned & restocked daily, All the staff were great. Fresh cookies and coffee at the front desk. Thank you for a great stay.
Two friends and I, avid senior cyclists, decided to cycletour a portion of the west coast of Michigan in September 2018. We took the ferry from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, to Ludington, Michigan, and cycled north through Arcadia, Glen Arbor, and Northport to Traverse City. The September scenery was stunning, the state beautiful, and our hosts in these cities friendly and helpful—until the Grandstay Hotel and Suites in Traverse City. The first night was just fine. The following day, after biking the outstanding Old Mission Peninsula, we arrived back at the Grandstay only to be informed by manager Nick Trahair that we could not put our bikes in their rooms. This had not been an issue the previous night, when the staff was friendly and accommodating. He pointed to a small notice on the door saying bikes were not allowed. We locked our bikes as best we could to a bike stand in the parking lot.We informed the manager that we have traveled throughout the United States and Europe without an issue with bikes in rooms, where they can be kept safe and out of the weather. But he was quite adamant. My feeling is that if bikes are not allowed in rooms, Grandstay should state that policy clearly on their website. That way cyclists know they are not welcome at Grandstay and can make alternative lodging arrangements. That is what we will do next time.I hope in future Grandstay will review their policy and change it so cyclists will be welcomed at their motels. In the meantime, I recommend cycle tourists avoiding Grandstay Hotel and Suites.
Karl at the front desk was great! He was very kind and made sure our stay went well. Our room was clean, and the breakfast was simple but wonderful.
Clean and spacious room. Was very close to local attractions and within walking distance of the beach. My only complaint was that it was very noisy at night, I had a hard time getting to sleep.
I recommend staying at this hotel. Went for two days and it was great. Clean rooms, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast in the morning was good, staff was excellent and treated you very nicely.
I Booked a jacuzzi room for a special night. The room was basic except for the jacuzzi, which only fit one person. The bathroom was small. The carpet was torn up over by the jacuzzi. Overall the night was okay but, I over paid by alot.
Every thing was really nice. The room was clean, breakfast was tasty, everything worked. My one complaint was someone pulled the fire alarm at 2 am and it woke me up and I struggled to fall back asleep.
Great rate. Friendly front desk staff. Several breakfast options hot and cold. A couple different coffee choices. Would definitely stay again
I absolutely love this hotel. I travel a lot for my job and whenever I am in the traverse city area my go-to hotel is the GrandStay. Ive stayed in other hotels along US-31 and they just arent as nice. I would recommend this hotel if you are traveling and need a place to stay
Our go-to hotel in TC; very clean, comfortable, and affordable. The front desk staff are amazing and the manager (I cant remember his name right now) is very nice, helpful & accommodating!
Avoid at all cost. Nick Trahair General Manager was extremely rude and on a power trip to the point our party moved to another location. Traverse City is loaded with many great places to stay and this is not one I would ever consider again. After hearing our experience the rest of the TC tourism community made up for our poor experience and we still love TC, MI.
Very clean and well managed hotel. The price was good. The daily cookies were a nice treat and breakfast was good. Ill definitely stay again!
Visited family members staying the night there. Pool was warm and seemed clean. The entire place was clean and very friendly and prompt staff from my limited experience. My family stays there everytime they come down.
We loved and enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and well maintained. The service was great and helpful. We will definitely stay again.
Was a wonderful experience! Quiet and restful. The pool and hot tub was awesome after a long day. Breakfast was a relaxing atmosphere.
The owner was very rude I had bed bugs when I got in the room and I wanted a refund. He ended up calling me a lier and kicking me out even tho I was being polite and understanding that they can’t catch everything
Ha! No exhaust fan in bathroom. No standard pillows. No water dispenser, you just need to buy a bottle. You never know when the paint falls on you in the bathroom. Oh, one last thing, you can listen to all your neighboring rooms.
We were able to use the pool there without having a room. It is very nice that they allow the public to pay to use the pool if they do not have that many bookings and its only 5$ a person
Standard hotel experience. Quiet, comfortable room, decent warm breakfast. The pool looked nice too although I didnt go in.
Nice hotel at a decent price. Our room was large and modern. This hotel is across the street from the lake but no view. Great pool and hot tub.
Well after what my daughter went through with this hotel and management team i will never stay here...im always traveling North and stay at a lot of hotels but after the way they were treated and and embarrassed i wrote to their corporation team, You DO NOT WALK INTO SOMEONES ROOM WHILE THEY ARE SLEEPING!!! Your Management team is a JOKE!! i can not wait to hear back from your corporate office...
Loved it and cant wait to go back.
I stay here yearly with my family and the staff are always friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and modern. The breakfast is continental and is always full.
This hotel is in a perfect location and is affordable , so it doesnt break the bank. Hotel was very clean and nicely layed out. The staff was amazing.
Very friendly staff and service, good Wi-Fi speeds and complementary breakfast was sufficient. Heater in the room put out a terrible odor, which was very unpleasant.
Nice little hotel near all TC has to offer. Cannot rate facilities like pool or exercise room as were closed due to covid. Would typically have breakfast but not at this time unless bagged ok. Would recommend.
Worst service turned us away in the middle of winter after driving 9 hours. We paid for the rooms in advanced. Proceeded to call the cops because we used a swear word manager was extremely rude. Do not go here
Would get 5 stars if they didnt have couch pillows as their bed pillows. BYOP.
Great value for a nice hotel! The room and pool were great, however the breakfast was sub-par.
