Abbot Massage

So impressed with this place. I found this through ClassPass and checked the reviews on Google and it was truly just as good as everyone said. I saw Jean for a Swedish massage and tonight I saw Nan for a Thai/Swedish combo. Both were fantastic massage therapists. Both were so warm and welcoming. The front desk staff is also so kind and easy to schedule with. Also a small thing to some, but I really love the doors on each room. It really has all the things that make it feel high end, but for a reasonable price. Will be telling friends about this spot.

I’m so happy I found this place through Classpass. I have been looking for a nonoverpriced massage spot on the west side. It’s right on Abbot Kinney and an hours massage was only 65$. You can also call and get a same day massage. The place is clean and the staff are very friendly. I loved the Swedish massage by Lin and will be going back in the future.

Had a deep tissue massage. I don’t think the masseur understands how to do it. He did not work with my breathing, avoided painful areas or pressed too hard into them. I had to direct him on things that should be fundamental deep tissue techniques.Also he hit my privates with his arm several times. I’m still feeling pretty uncomfortable about it.Finally, they insisted on a 15% tip after.

We found this place while looking for spas near Venice Beach to get a massage after a tiring day of trip. We had one swedish massage and one deep tissue massage.The professionals were quite good, the place had a refreshing vibe and the prices were decent. Though the tipping culture in this industry was present here as well and we were asked to pay min $20 tip per person.Overall we had a great experience.

Terrible! The massage was ok but the therapist spoke no English. I tried asking many times to be more gentle and he didn’t understand. For a 90 min massage I asked to focus on my neck and back and he kept massaging my legs and feet. It was my 3rd time here. When she said how much tip I said 10% and she said, “you rude” I said I’d like to pay please. She said, “I block you now”. I said I’d like to pay and leave she said, “ you wait I block you first.” It is not worth it to be forced to pay a $30-35 dollar tip for bad service. The first two massages were ok they were women. Not worth the headache.

Excellent massages with DeDe and Tang. DeDe does a Thai/Deep Tissue combo while Tang does a Thai/Swedish combo. My mom and I were impressed and we are both working massage therapists. It is always hard to find the same quality of bodywork that we provide for our own clients. Glad we found this well maintained studio in a strip mall with ample parking during the daytime. Also great beach house decor. Fits perfectly in the Venice area. We will definitely be back.

This is a great massage studio, I go here for my 2 hours deep tissue with Lina who is very strong and her technique with elbows, body angles and positions. The studio is clean and the front desk staff is kind and friendly. There is good energy all around here, so I highly recommend go visit, you won’t be disappointed!

Truly the best massage of my life. Everyone is so kind, nice and accommodating. Very clean rooms too. Didi was amazing, I highly recommended going to her. She released every knot I had and put me at complete ease. Really great price. This place is the best!! Worth the drive across la.

Found this place via ClassPass and booked a 90-minute with Sam - he is amazing! Really knows how to get the knots out with firm pressure and in all of the right spots. Highly recommend.

Average massage by a VERY mature therapist. They let you in 10 minutes later and steal this time from what you paid for. The receptionist rudely insisted on the maximum tip of $25 when I gave her $20. I chose this place by Google rating, which is unexplainable

I came in on midweek for a combo 60 mins massage. Right of the bat, making the reservation on the phone was breezy and helpful. Upon arrival, I was greeted and shown to the room without having to wait long. The facility and the massage rooms are very clean. My masseuse Lisa did an excellent job removing the knots of tensions on my shoulders as she worked through them timely without any rush. It was one of the best massages Ive had in awhile. I cant wait to be back and try other style perhaps for 90 mins 🤩 and recommend this place for others.

I will come back to this place it’s cute and clean and right by my house, the staff is super nice! but today my masseuse was not in a great flow. There were many moments of her pushing on my bones instead of my muscle next to it which has left me feeling somewhat bruised and tender. It’s not that the pressure was too hard, more than it was just in the wrong places at times. Not very intuitive or mindful of sensitive places where skin might be more thin like under my arm area, etc. it was hard to fully relax, and caused me to tense up at times, but it was productive and got the job done. Maybe try someone else next time :) also the music was a bit distracting maybe instead of straight up classical they could choose spa piano, or spa classical, or spa sounds idk or Marconi Union/ambient spa. The classical was intense build ups and high energy sometimes.

Masage good. they push and the tip for 1 jour must be 20 dollars. If you cancel your appointment 2 she says she have to block you. I didnt have good experience there.

Both times I’ve been have been great. Got the male therapist Chai the first time who did excellent thai-deep tissue. Then got Sam the second time who did a regular deep tissue, firm Swedish massage. A friend also recommended Nan and Kate. Nice peaceful vibes. Love this place !

Highly recommend! One of the best massages I’ve had- better than any spa! Tentatively addressed knots in a balanced way. Listened to needs. Feel so much better after. The owner is super nice. The place is clean and well kept.

I’m a massage therapist who was referred to this place by a non- massage therapist friend. I was very skeptical to the point that I rescheduled my appointment twice before finally going after my friend literally booked an appointment and prepaid for the both of us. You can do this online thru their site.I got a massage from Lisa and my friend saw Nan. My friend requested Nan since she’s been before but I was not expecting the kind of quality massage from my therapist Lisa. Easily Top 10 massages in my life ! I told the front people to take care of Lisa and not to let her go! haha. Thank you, Abbot Massage.

Found this place on classpass and was pleased we did. The therapist (Mona) was really thorough and the massage was very relaxing and enjoyable - easily one of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend and would visit again.(There is easy parking as well :))

Greeted upon entering by two people asked our names. The place is ran smoothly and its clean! The masseuse I had Amy I believe that was her name very attentive I enjoyed my 90 minutes tremendously. My husband did also.Im ready for work in the AM. Thank you!!

This is my go to for messages on the west side. The place is clean, and comfortable. They are Very well trained and professional. If you have a specific issue/knot or whatever, let them know and they will concentrate on the area, and work it out.DON’T FORGET TO TIP!

I saw Chai the male therapist at Abbot Massage. He does an awesome Thai / Deep Tissue Combo style with a good amount of pressure but still very soothing. Finished with some good stretches true true to the Thai style. I like medium-firm and this was spot on. He works Tuesdays and Wednesdays currently so he is a bit difficult to get in with sometimes. I call for him on Sundays and have been able to get in with him every time.This studio is tucked in the same strip mall as South End. There is plenty of plaza parking when I go. I suspect the doordashers and Postmaters flock during dinner time.

Been here twice for a massage and every time I’m blown away by the quality of my massage. I love deep tissue but these massage therapists take it so much further. They do deep stretching, they move and bend my body to release tension where I didn’t even know they could. It’s easy to book an appt. I’m going here every time for a massage

There is a homeless woman that sleeps outside the door during business hours. When I pulled up I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me and maybe the face I saw staring at me in my rear view mirror as I backed in was a poster for a horror film, bc she looked scary, but when I got out of the car I realized she was real.The massage was ok. I gave him a 3/5. The lady in charge was a little pushy to me regarding the tip but was kind otherwise. It just broke my heart to see the homeless lady. I chose this location to try and relax and take my mind off of the issues I wish I could solve everyday and to see one of those issues (homelessness) literally at the doorstep really broke my spirit. Also, I paid $85 and think it was a bit overpriced for what I got.So needless to say, I am now booking an appointment at another spa to try and get the full relaxation experience that I have imagined for myself. Just be prepared to potentially be saddened by the sights.

Prior to the pandemic I got a massage 2-4 times a month. Ive had them everywhere all over the world...DC offices, spas, resorts, personal trainers. The 90 min. massage I had from Chai was the best I can recall.He incorporates Swedish, Thai, lomi lomi, accu pressure all in one massage with perfect pressure and a rhythm. Im somewhat reluctant to share this for fear of him booking out. So good I booked another next week. Enjoy!
