This head spa was absolutely wonderful. We drove a little over an hour to come here, but it was worth it. It is a very cute, clean spa. The staff are so friendly and made us feel really comfortable. For our first visit they showed us what our scalps looked like prior to the scalp treatment/massage, and then again after as well. You can see if you have any build up, or inflammation on certain follicles.They have a massage bed that you lay on which was so great. 10/10. They also washed & blow dried our hair when we were done, also 10/10. The scalp treatment itself was good, we got the sleepy scalp treatment. This is the more relaxing one, especially if your tender headed like me. I would just suggest to let them know if they need to be more gentle, or if it is too rough while they are performing the service. They will adjust based on your comfort level.We will def be back! :)

Went here for the first time today and had an INCREDIBLE experience. The entire staff was so warm and welcoming. The spa itself is kept spotless and is very relaxing. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure it was an enjoyable experience and was genuinely kind. I got the 75 minute option and it was worth every penny. The massage chair you’re in adds an extra layer of relaxation to the amazing head massage. Very much worth the trip from Center City Philadelphia and I cannot wait to go back.

I recently enjoyed a head spa treatment at Pure Joy Head Spa and it was fantastic. The ambiance was calming, with soothing music and a pleasant aroma.The session I chose (Package D) included a gentle scalp massage with essential oils, a steam treatment, a luxurious shampoo and conditioner, and roughly blow dry hair. The young women expert techniques relieved my tension and left my hair feeling soft and hydrated. The attention to detail and personalized care made the experience truly relaxing.I left feeling rejuvenated, with noticeably healthier, shinier hair. Wow! I’ve always loved getting my hair washed and scalp massaged at the hair salon but had no idea it could be like this! The spa is very welcoming, the staff is attentive and sweet and the service is amazing. First, they analyze your scalp with a magnifying camera. Then over an hour of washing, massage, scalp treatments & conditioning all while lying in a soothing massage bed. All this followed by a blow dry and one last treatment. Definitely adding this to my pampering routine.

My experience here was PHENOMENAL! I was running late in traffic, so I called ahead, and the staff member was so kind and responded that my safety was the most important and to not worry at all about being late. When we arrived, everyone was so warm and welcoming. The scalp massage was truly the most incredible massage I have ever had. I can’t wait to go back!

I got the sleepy spa, which included the scalp camera, a long head massage, hair washing, treatment, and even neck massage :) not only was the time so calming, my scalp feels super clean and my hair is SOFT! highly recommend this place, worth the trip.

I’ve been looking for an authentic head spa experience for the longest and was so happy to find one that was ~30 mins from me. This spot DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I went in for the 75 mins head spa and came out so refreshed and relaxed. The staff were kind and welcoming. I really enjoyed seeing what my scalp looked like before the treatment 😂I loved that you lay on a massage bed during the head spa and that they massaged me face & neck. Another thing that really impressed me was the blow out. I feel like the prices are great for what you’re getting.It was so funny I just got a gift card for the 90 min session today after my first session so I will definitely be back again very soon. I came in anxious with a migraine & came out recharged and relaxed. Cured my anxiety! Definitely give this place a try! I’ve been to a similar spot and they don’t compare to Pure Joy!

This place has so much promise but they have a few things to work out - maybe as a new business?Pros: clean, new equipment, kind staff, lovely massage chairs, good scalp service.My major disappoint was the blow out. The staff member who did my service seemed to have zero experience in a typical blow out. She basically just took a hair dryer to the top part of my head. So the back was still damp, knotted and curly when I left. I put it in a bun and went home to blow it out properly myself. I just think for the cost of the service, it should have included a true blow out. I spent $115 all in, including a $20 tip and it’s all cash. You get severely up charged if you use a credit card. If I went to my normal hair salon to get a real blowout it would have been $35 plus tip. I would absolutely go back for the scalp service, but I cannot justify the cost when you don’t receive a real blow out.

Had my first visit today this was one of many to come. I got the top tier and it was well worth it. So relaxing and refreshing. My hair and scalp feel amazing. The staff were so kind and informative. I highly recommend pure joy! The name fits the service! Thank you pure joy.

Such a lovely experience from start to finish. Parking was easy, atmosphere was peaceful and comfortable and staff was kind. The sleepy treatment I had done was extremely effective (they will show you before/after of your scalp), thorough and relaxing. I appreciated the small touches like the heated eye mask, massage bed, a water after the treatment and even the blow dry. My lovely technician spent extra time detangling my easily tangled hair. I am so sorry that I didnt catch her name! Do not go in expecting a salon blow out- its really not what the experience is about. I will definitely be returning to try everything they have to offer. My first head spa experience and it was great! The facility is bigger than I expected, it’s a nice clean environment and the staff were friendly. I liked the massage bed very much, it was comfortable and good massage for automatic bed. The head portion was nice, different; and enjoyable… wish there was a little more head/scalp massage even just a few more minutes, felt like the washing was a very long time compared to the spa or relaxing portion- that’s really the only downfall, which isn’t much. Yes, blowdry could be to completion underneath and brushed a bit more just so it is not knotty but not a huge deal. My scalp and hair feel cleaner than it was. I will tell more friends and family to try it and I will be back too!

My hair and scalp has NEVER felt this healthy and good. The treatment is so relaxing I almost fell asleep! The facility is clean, the people are super nice, the prices are good, and you’ll feel amazing! Do yourself a favor and book an appointment. I’m already looking forward to my next booking. Cant say enough good things!

I came to this headspa in June and was pleasantly impressed. I went with my mom and sister and all three of us had an amazing experience. All the workers are kind and prices are fair for the service. We felt incredibly relaxed afterwards. We drove from NJ to this place and it was worth the drive. I can’t wait to go back!

The pros: This is a relaxing place and experience. I really enjoyed the different treatments and saw what a difference it made for my scalp. I appreciate the difference options for services offered. You are offered a heated eye mask and lay on a massage chair for the entire time which is a nice touch but didn’t fully work for me.The cons: The massage chair is not designed for people in larger bodies. If you’re around a size 20-24+ the chair is not accessible and it’s very likely your body will not fully fit in it, just a heads up. Additionally the woman who did my hair seemed to take a phone call during and/or was watching videos in the background? Not very professional. There is a “blow dry” included at the end which felt extremely rushed and I left with half of my hair still damp. It was also not brushed at all and was frizzy and knotty which is not what I expect after a hair service that includes a blow dry. I brushed and completed the blow dry at home and my hair feels soft and clean but this should have been part of the experience to begin with.Overall I think this place has a lot of potential (especially if you’re in a thin body) and I’m definitely willing to give it another shot but just sharing my first experience here.

I went for my first head spa yesterday and left a bit disappointed. The entire hour was spend more exfoliating my scalp more than massaging and it was a bit painful. The staff are very nice. The place is very clean and welcoming. I did leave with my scalp clean and I feel such a complete difference in my hair. It’s amazing. I will be returning but I’ll see a different tech.

I was here a few weeks ago with my friend and they used this LED light connected to a screen that showed me what my scalp looked like. I thought it was interesting that there were two color of lights. I ended up going to a different salon yesterday which used the same color light for both scans. I also feel like it isnt worth to get anything more than the first level. They all end you with the same result. I would just recommend not getting anything more than the sleepy scalp spa. The more expensive ones are just simply not worth the money and time.

Came here for the first time today and OH! MY! GOD! This is definitely being added to my self-care routine. Super welcoming staff, clean environment and my hair has never felt better. Definitely coming back, check this place out!

For mothers day I treated my mom and myself to the 1 hour 30 mins head spa.First thing first what products do you use? My hair smelled amazing!!!! It was super soft absolutely love whatever was used.I can understand why some guest mentioned about the blow out aspect being bad but I kinda laughed and had a good time with the experience. Your there for a head massage not a blow out in my opinion.10/10 - staff looked clean , smiles on there face , polite , accommodating , sense of humor, educated. Even providing roses to all the ladies on mothers day.10/10- over all appearance of the spa was clean , simple , a little small but definitely cute and straight to the point. Over all relaxing setting.10/10 The massage!!! I thought my mom wasnt going to leave.The experience was amazing and the ladies may not be a expert on a blow out but my god they know how to do a massage. No regrets , exactly what we needed and I know we will be returning !!!Thankyou for providing such great service 👏

This head spa was so relaxing!!! I got the Sleepy spa which was an hour of scalp cleansing and massaging. They do a really cool microscopic analysis of your scalp before so you can see all the buildup of hair products on your scalp. The massage chairs are a very nice touch and the ladies were super sweet and detailed with the spa. The only thing I was disappointed in was the “blow dry service”. I though they would actually blow dry and brush it out like a salon but they just waved a blowdryer through my hair. Since my hair is curly and prone to frizz if not dried properly, I walked out of the salon with a poof of frizz on top of my head. However, it was very relaxing and my scalp was so clean and smelt so good, but would probably only return if they offered a proper blow dry to accommodate different hair textures other than naturally straight hair.

Went here today for the anti-migraine head spa treatment. First, I just want to say the staff could not have been nicer, the facility was very clean, the massage bed was incredibly comfy, and my scalp is SPOTLESS. On the flip side, I did not feel that the service was exactly as billed. There was so much time spent on scalp exfoliation (which sometimes became painful) and very little time spent on massage. If you - like me - are hoping for a relaxing experience you may be a little disappointed. But this may be luck of the draw with technicians!

I got the hair wash and scalp massage and it was very relaxing! They lay you down on a massage chair for the entire session too. It felt like a dream. I’ll be coming back

I took the basic package and that itself was completely relaxing. It is a massage where your head will be completely wet throughout but not a drop of water will cross over onto your clothes, all the while your body is being massaged by the massage chair that you are lying down on.At the end after drying, my frizzy prone hair did get a whole lot frizzy, but it was so so soft to the touch.The place is clean and the staff are kind.I highly recommend the place.

If I could give this place a 12 I would. My friend and I went here a couple days ago and it should be called Pure Heaven because I was in heaven! When you walk in, the staff is so friendly and welcoming. They sit you in a chair and put a camera on your scalp to assess and show you what buildup you may have, color damage, etc. Then depending on what package you get determines what spa services you receive. I got #B the Sleepy package for $75 (if you pay cash it’s cheaper) for 1 hour.You go back to a room with nice music playing and you lay all the way down in a massage chair. The therapist starts your service which includes head/scalp massaging throughout the hour, different tools that feel amazing to deep clean your scalp. There is nothing painful at all during your service. Once all treatment is done, they wash and condition your hair. I was so sad when the hour was over! Afterwards they take you back to the chair and show you how clean your hair is with the camera- no more build up! They finish it off with a blow dry (no styling) and your hair feels so soft afterwards. I couldn’t stop touching it. So relaxing. Treat yourself! Can’t wait to go back soon.

Today was my first time ever experiencing a scalp massage. It blew my expectations away! I felt like a true princess. Being pampered, the customer service, the calm environment, its clean, my hair felt so soft afterwards and no longer felt dirty or itchy! I had such a wonderful time and was so sad it was over! This was exactly what I was looking for. Ive seen many videos of head spas online and have been searching for a place to go locally. My experience was absolutely wonderful. Its everything I could have imagined. The staff is super friendly. The facility is inviting. My hair and scalp are the cleanest they have ever been. It was a very relaxing experience and I enjoyed it very much. I highly suggest getting the headache/ migraine package and includes a head steaming which was great.

From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by their lovely staff. They are all very nice, the space is very clean and nice. The treatment I recieved was AMAZING! I will be coming back every single month. My hair has never looked better, my scalp is so clean and I HIGHLY recommend this business. I cant wait for my next treatment!

I was so impressed by Pure Joy Head Spa! From start to finish, it was truly a luxury experience that left me feeling truly rejuvenated as well as relaxed! They use a camera to show you your scalp before and after treatment. The treatment itself is awesome: attention to detail, reflexology, and head and neck massage all while reclined in a body massaging chair. There are several different options that you can choose from, or have something recommended based upon your scalp examination. Truly a luxurious and relaxing experience: I cant wait to go back!

I’ve been looking for a head spa in our area and I’m so glad I came to this location! My hair feels brand new. So soft and like I got a professional treatment. The before/after of my scalp was wild. Very relaxing, the rooms have soft music and a laying down massage chair. Staff was soo friendly. Definitely making this my new monthly thing!!

Ive seen so many head spa videos watching ASMR and this was something I have been looking for in my area for awhile now. As soon as I saw this location I booked immediately. I really enjoyed my experience here. The staff were great and very welcoming. The service was phenomenal. My hair and scalp have never felt as good as it does now!My only suggestion - during my service this loud noise started going; it sounded like a gurgling drain and i was so focused on what the sound was it was a bit hard for me to fully relax. I eventually realized it was whatever was being used to heat up water for the steam. It wouldve been much more relaxing knowing this in advance or if the steam machine was quieter. Once I knew what the noise was though I was able to relax more, although it was still annoying lolRegardless, I will definitely be back! This was amazing and I highly recommended!

I really enjoyed my experience. I fell asleep a couple times but the service was fantastic and felt luxurious, I felt like i was rich even though I’m not 🤣 and my hair looks shiney and smells amazing.

So relaxing!!! It was a whole body experience with the reclining continuous massage chair with the spa technician focusing on your head & neck. My hair was so clean & soft afterwards. The people working there so happy & pleasant! I will be back!!

I know this place has a lot of good reviews and I don’t mean to hate on them but I recently went here with my friend. I had seen a lot of videos of this place on insta and Tik Tok and all the tools they use. Me and my friend both got and paid for the same treatment and she had told me all of the messaging tools they had used on her and the treatments. I had told her I didn’t receive any of that and she had only used her hands to scrub my scalp the entire hour. We both paid for sleepy scalp treatment but I am sorry to say I didn’t get what I paid for and am very disappointed. My friend said she will be returning obviously because hers was worth the $75 but I sadly will not be returning.

Ok! Obsessed! Watch out Blow Dry Bars! There’s a new gig in town! I love getting my hair washed and blow dried. Usually it goes right back up in a top knot so I’m not really focused on styling anyway! More so the massage and not having to dry my own hair. This is SO much better than a blow dry bar and it’s pretty much the same $! You lay in a massage chair from shoulders to ankles! It’s phenomenal! Though since I’m old the angle did hurt my back and usually need something under my knees if I’m lying flat. Other than that it was heaven. Your head is in a sink of sorts that has so many bells and whistles! They scrub every inch of your head! It smelled INCREDIBLE! You drift away to another land! It’s what every hair washing experience should be like! Epic! My friend and I did option A and we will be back for the longest option they have available! Haha. So excited head spas coming in to play for another way of pampering yourself! Feel like a new woman! My hubby even wants to go!

This is my third Head Spa that I’ve tried in the Philadelphia area, and it is definitely my favorite! The woman who massaged my scalp was so delicate and soothing, she did such a good job. She was also so patient because I have hair that tangles very easily but that didn’t stop her from taking her time gingerly brushing all my knots out painlessly. It was everything you could want from a Head Spa. If you watch lots of headspa content on TikTok like I do, they do everything that you see in the videos and it’s phenomenal. They also have a massage bed that massages you from shoulder to ankle the entire time and it was heavenly. Afterwards they blow dry your hair with no additional cost. Also, I’ve been having a lot of issues with my hair lately being dry and lifeless. I don’t know what they did or what products they used but my hair hasn’t felt this soft and healthy since high school. I’m honestly probably going to start going here before big events so that my hair is nice!

First time here and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was so relaxing I fell asleep. They showed my scalp before and after, and big difference. I would definitely come back.
