Cheap price was the best part about this place. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. We arrived to a very curt , rude woman behind the desk. She was not helpful or explanatory when demanding we pay a $10 cash deposit and was irritated when we asked what the deposit was for and if we would get it back when we checked out. Once we got into our room, it was not very clean. Everything on the walls was crooked, it smelled, the fire alarm was detached from the wall, there was a water cup over the sprinkler. The bathroom was in disrepair and some towels had stains on them. The woman at the desk later on was lovely and helpful. Luckily we only stayed one night and then got out.
We enjoyed our stay recently in downtown Wichita Falls. We have stayed there before and will again. Rooms are clean amd rates are low. The employees have been polite and helpful.
Room smelled like water had flooded.shower ceiling had major water damage; paint was hanging so low we left without showering.service person at 02:30 am allowed patron to let his dog bark and make loud noises.no one should ever stay in a place this poor.
UPDATE- Interesting how OYO is so quick to respond to all the Google reviews like they’re proactive in trying to fix things. But I emailed them over a week ago now (per their request) and they haven’t gotten back to me. So at this point, I recommend not staying at any OYO. You’ll have a bad experience and the company will only talk about how they want to make it better.Absolutely DO NOT stay here. Our expectations were pretty low because it’s a cheap hotel so you can’t expect it to be great. But this is by far the shadiest, worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. When we first checked in, the bathroom door was locked. After telling the front desk, he switched us to another room that clearly wasn’t cleaned after the previous guest (the bed was completely disheveled and there was a used towel on the sink). Not only that, but both rooms smelled heavily like smoke. I had to drive back to reception since the phone wasn’t working in that room and we ended up going back to the first room because all the other rooms were booked. Mind you, this all took place at 2 in the morning. We were already exhausted from driving all day and then we had to deal with this back and forth for at least 30 mins after arriving at the hotel. If there was another vacancy at any other hotel, we would’ve left. The only saving grace about this hotel is the front desk people. They were both very friendly and apologetic for our experience. But what’s most disappointing is that Alex (the front desk lady) told me that the owners would call me and hopefully offer some sort of discount or maybe even comp the room, but I haven’t heard anything from them. I wasn’t planning on leaving a review because I thought the owners cared enough to reach out and we can just settle everything between us, but clearly they don’t care since it’s already been a few days since we’ve checked out. Just do yourself a favor and spend a bit more money to stay at a better hotel.
The chk in was alittle long but the desk clerk was friendly. The rms were very clean. The beds were comfortable. They had soap dispensers in the shower n by the sink area. They had a coffee pot in the rm. The microwave n fridge were clean. N once i got the ac on cold it was super cold.
Affordable. Easy access. Quick friendly service. Lighted parking lot. Quiet. Good price for a quick over night stay. Could use some updates.
If you ever consider staying at a OYO Hotel, do yourself a favor and DONT DO IT! This past weekend we stayed at the OYO Hotel in downtown Wichita Falls and let me just say that was a pretty frustrating experience overall due to being told I needed to change rooms (I had no plans to change rooms) and them telling me I would get a refund on the room I initially reserved - now after multiple phone calls, messages and emails Im told that will not be happening. So I overpaid to stay in a crappy hotel room that we found out had mold, had exposed light bulbs and broken furniture...so like I said DO NOT STAY AT THE OYO HOTEL.
At check in the staff asked for paperwork for a service dog. Thats illegal, so staff isnt trained. I was then charged a dog fee. The bathroom light has no cover, the bathroom vent isnt fully attached, a room with 2 beds has 1 pack for coffee! No light until you walk to the bathroom or between the beds. It was disappointing from the start.
The man that checked me in was great. It was very quiet and peaceful all night. The rooms were very outdated but very clean.Bad part, I cant stay there again while Im in town because I have a Ky license on my phone.
Horrible ownership all the Hindu people that run this place are rude and unprofessional they do not need your money or time Im paid by Google to review everywhere I go and this place is 0 Stars Im from California staying here for 6 days the lady has a nasty attitude I told her not to clean my room all I need is new towels and toilet paper and soap and shampoo she said no!!! If you need more go to the store and get more. Old rooms nasty attitude not worth it spend your money and time elsewhere. All you hear is the door blowing open wind coming in super loud all day and night TV sucks channels suck everything is broken the first night I stayed was on the first floor and it rained hard my room was flooded 😭😭💔
We enjoyed our stay! For what you pay, you get a great room. Also very close to medical facilities and a cute coffee shop.
All rooms have been renovated and clean. The floor was new and no carpet, no dust and I felt the place was bug-free (i am super afraid of bugs) and comfortable. The staff was very nice. There were microwave, TV, refrigerator, hair dryer, tissue, liquid soap and lotion on pumps by the sink, liquid soap and shampoo on pumps by the bath. Great value and great location. It was very quiet at night (it was a Friday night) and I slept so well. The bed was also very comfortable. Anyone who does not want to spend too much money but likes cleanliness should stay here! Amazing value.
This was my first stay at OYO but Ill be back! The room was clean, quiet, and very nice. I made the reservation on line and got a great price. The A/C got cold really quick. There was a blow dryer in the bathroom. I dont usually have that in the lower priced hotels. I travel a lot for work and try to save when I can on my hotel bill. OYO surprised me a little. It was obviously remodeled but still very nice for the price. Centrally located as well! Ill stay there again and look for them elsewhere!
Not a bad place. Close to food and shopping. Older place but for a cheap price it is a good hotel. No noise from traffic quit area. No breakfast or frills but has microwave and fridge. For a 50 dollar a night hotel it is pretty nice. Front desk peoe are always friendly. Stay here whenever Im in town
The employees were kind and easy to work with. However, there were black marks on my pillow and broken furniture. I found myself very uncomfortable in the room based on cleanliness and location. I suppose it is nice for the price, however it was not what I was looking for or necessarily expected. There are absolutely NO refunds, but we decided to leave and stay at another hotel for a few dollars more and 100% more comfortable. In addition, there isn’t much by the hotel and the hotel we chose to stay at instead was central and had plenty of access to stores and food, etc. which plays into our opinion. Being downtown wasn’t very assistive considering there isn’t anything downtown, I recommend staying closer to the university.
Great place to sleep. Not to fond of the no visitors. But I asked the front clerk if my mom could come spend some time with me and didn’t have a problem…. $100 deposit on the room. Easier to pay by cash. Took around a week to get deposit back on card.
Hotel management needs to focus more on the cleanliness of the rooms. I would never stay here again, I saw 3 baby roaches under the couch
EVERYTHING WAS HORRIBLE! DO NOT BOOK!!!! STAFF RUDE PICTURES ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM WAS IN TOWN FOR TWO DAYS THIS WAS THE SECOND HOTEL I BOOKED IN TWO DAYS VERY DISGUSTED!!! I Pacifically asked the lady “ARE THE ROOMS CLEAN” she said YES! DO NOT BOOK SLEEP IN YOUR CAR THANK ME LATER! EVERYTHING NASTY!!
My room was nice and clean. The staff was courteous and professional.
This place is pretty bad.The room:Smelled like smokeTowels were a joke - thin, small, stained brown and not at all softThe light outside the rooms were so bright, they shine into the room. The service:I reserved this room with free cancellation/change up to 48 before staying -- but the hotel refused to let me reduce the number of nights Im staying.Additionally, the hotel called me twice to see if I was actually gonna show up. Ive never had a hotel ask me are you really staying with us?
Not much to look at from the outside but inside it’s clean comfortable and staff is extremely nice
Booked a room 11 months in advance through expedia for this hotel, so I could attend the Hotter n Hell ride. I booked it early enough to get a lower at about $95 per night. When I showed up at the hotel the day before the ride, they said they cancelled my hotel in May because of overbooking but failed to contact me personally. Since I booked this hotel so far in advance, I should have been one of the first people to book. Expedia showed I had an active reservation when I arrived, but the hotel would not honor it. As a result, I had to find another hotel the last minute far from the starting line at 3 times the price. I will never book this hotel again.
Very easy access. Loved the location. It was so quiet for being close to a busy street.
This is generally where I stay when I visit Wichita falls. I really like this little hotel. For the price its amazing. The owners are amazing. The people that work here are amazing. If youre going to stay at OYO in Wichita Falls texas, I recommend this one. Do not stay at any of the others in town. They are absolutely disgusting. But this one, this ones awesome.
Decent room for the price. Room service was friendly.
Service was fine, rooms were clean. The fan was loud, but it didnt stay on long and didnt prevent my son and I from sleeping. The bathroom light turned on a bright sink light visible from the beds, but luckily there was enough ambient light from the window that was enough for midnight bathroom trips.
Pat the super dbag at the front told me about his/her $100 deposit and without hesitation, said that only people who break stuff are the only ones who dont want to pay $100. I said well maybe not the only reason. He/she got all princess and said Im not going to rent to u. OK Mr cool. Ill drive up the road a bit and give them $. Maybe the only $100 deposits r from the greasy night managers who want to lose business? Congrats sassy girl
Roo.was clean w- several amineties and the small appliances were clean & in working order. The staff was especially accommodating. Very friendly and helpful. Great place & value.
The only bright spot was the night manager, very friendly and helpful. After that it all went down hill, old bit up furniture, old worn and torn bedding, shower just goes super hot or cold, only the fawcet worked properly temperature. And to top it all off, the room stunk.
All room is clean and non smoking rooms. I stayed 3 days, it really quite place in downtown area. Its so close to the lucky water fall and everything. I have to paid for the 4 days night but i need to go back to my job, but they gave me back full refund for this night. Peoples are so nice.
This was one of my worst hotel stays I have ever had. The first negative incident occurred when somebody tried to come into my door when it wasnt their room at midnight. The second incident was when people were banging on my door at 2:00 in the morning. But the worst incident was being woken up at 5:30 in the morning by a new sound. Upon turning on the lights I noticed that over 20 crickets had infested the room and were chirping loudly making it impossible to sleep. Unable to sleep anymore I went to the front desk and ask them if they could do anything financially to reimburse me for the horrible stay. I was promptly turned away and told that they would not do anything.
Its aight for a one night stay. Room was clean, beds looked ok. The, shower head didnt work, the microwave didnt work (we didnt use it but it looked like it stopped working) and I could hear everything outside, particularly when guests would leave or enter rooms. But it wasnt bad. Staff seemed friendly and the bathrooms were clean. Try and leave a little tip for room service, they seem to work hard. :) I have stayed at far WORSE Hotels
I have stayed at OYO Hotel several times when visiting friends in Wichita Falls because of its location within blocks of my friends home and have always had a very pleasant experience. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the price could not be better! I heartily recommend this OYO Hotel to anyone needing affordable, comfortable accommodations in the area.
This was a rough stay. There was broken ac equipment and a storage locker outside our door and someone was rummaging through it at 4 am, waking us up. We also found a dead cockroach under our bathroom sink. We would have left right after check in but we were exhausted. This was our first experience with OYO, unfortunately we will not stay with them in the future.
I made reservations a month and a half in advance for a return from a camping trip, for two rooms. I received a good rate and a $30 discount through the OYO website. My first OYO experience. While I was camping, OYO spontaneously cancelled my reservation without explanation and left me without accommodations. The desk clerk gave me two phone numbers for OYO, both reached a robot that just reiterated my reservation was cancelled and referred me to a Yo-Chat link that was never sent to me. I was receiving texts from OYO, including texts telling me that my reservation was in fact confirmed. The desk clerk was helpless. He doesnt even have a telephone. After a half-hour of him text chatting with tech support, I found accommodations elsewhere and left to get some rest. It was a day and a half later before someone from OYO sent me an email. No one ever called to straighten it out, certainly not in a timely manner. OYO offered no reason but it was plain that OYO had found a more lucrative opportunity for my rooms. Honoring business agreements is fundamental, and next time I wont trust OYO to have a room for me.
We got two rooms for a quick sleep trip during a road trip to Colorado. Check in was easy and the front desk receptionist was nice, but we had One room the smelled horribly like smoke. The front desk said they had no alternatives so we were stuck with it. We basically just all crammed into the room that didn’t smell. It is a shame that people smoke in non smoking rooms but the hotel should make sure that those who do are penalized not future guests like ourselves. Because of this, I wouldn’t recommend.
I am extremely impressed with the owners hospitality. Upon arrival, check in went smoothly as I made my reservation a month in advance. I needed a place to stay for a little over a month and struggled finding a location to rent due to leasing agreements and outstanding pet fees. You can’t beat the price. When making my reservation, the owner worked with me willingly to get the best price they had available for my stay. This is a family owned franchise and they all work together to ensure I have everything I need when going to the front office for necessities. The rooms are spacious, equipment with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. They are in the process of renovating and have made several improvements within the past month. The location is near the interstate making it easy to get to and from where I need to go. It is located 10 minutes from Sheppard AFB and roughly 10 minutes to the nearest Walmart and restaurants. I am highly satisfied with the time I have spent at this location. If in the area in the future, I will most certainly be staying again!
The only reason I give this 1 star is for the very kind and professional gentleman that was working the front desk. As for my room, it was dirty, smelled like mold and everything was broken. The lock on the did not work. The wifi did not work. The toilet tank lid was broken and the toilet ran the whole time. The ac unit was disgusting and all beat up. The pillows might of been comfortable about about 5 years ago and the sheets had stains on them as well. Overall not a good experience and Ive stayed at several OYO hotels and this is by far the worst Ive stayed at.
We had to sleep with crickets. The rooms were not cleaned. The bathrooms are so small you can’t even shut the door without hitting yourself.
They have been holding my 100$ security deposit for three weeks while claiming that they never charged me for it. While it plainly says on my card pending until oyo authorizes. No matter who I call no one will help me. So this place basically stole my 100$. They didn’t tell me they took my deposit, they told me they straight up never charged it, all while I have proof right on my card. Don’t go here if you want to keep your deposit!!!!
The staff was friendly and professional. They told me to let me know if there was anything I needed or if I had any issues. I did not need to get back with them, because the room was excellent. It was comfortable, well appointed, newly renovated, and spotlessly clean.
This Oyo was a convenient stay for my trip to Wichita Falls. It was about a 12 minute drive from Sheppard AFB, and convenient to anywhere we needed to go while in town. It is an older building, so some of the furnishings are dated, but the staff were friendly and helpful; I had an issue with a dirty shower curtain upon arrival and they quickly provided me with a replacement, and the lady at the desk said they are working on some renovations so maybe updated furnishings will come soon. Check-in and check-out were simple. I probably wouldn’t walk around the area alone at night, but it was fairly quiet overall. Police station and hospital are very close by. It was an economical stay and I would stay again if I visited Wichita Falls.
We had an amazing time in TX! This hotel is right in the middle of everything but you have no idea because the rooms are perfect. We had a king suite for our stay and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Two king size beds that were perfect, a comfy pullout couch and a nice lounge chair to relax.
We didnt know what to expect apart from a lot of positive reviews. The reviews lived up to expectations and we were very surprised by the quality of room we were given. The wifi worked fine for us apart from kicking us off once during the stay. There was a tub chair in the corner that disappeared the first day of our visit; we were very perplexed by it..
I travel all over the U.S. as a Pilot car driver and this is absolutely the best motel that Ive ever stayed in!!! The rates are extremely cheap, but the staff and the rooms are 5 star!!! The rooms are spotlessly clean, the TV selection is outstanding and everything in the room/bathroom has the look of being brand new!!! I HIGHLY recommend this motel!!!
I dont know where these other reviewers stayed but our stay from the checkin to checkout was anything but good. We arrived around 10:40 pm just me and my husband and after she swiped my card I asked if they have a room downstairs she said no so we got stuck with room 217 and we are disabled then I asked her how much is the room she said $50.60 I said its $44.00 with tax on the site so she said she could match it so I was OK with that then she took the $100.00 deposit so it shouldve been $144.00 which with the receipts she gave me came to that but my card sends me a text with all my transactions and I had 1 from there for $120.00 and another for $52.80 now we went to our upstairs room once we got up there i noticed we could not see our vehicle as the top was solid not gated to see so we had to walk out side to check our vehicle then as we went in as I locked the door that was a little worrisome see pics then I went to turn on the ac and the were broke but with a little messing with it I got it to work but when the curtains were shut it blocked the air then the bathroom light worked but the fan for the bathroom did not and the shower well it had 3 - 12 inch steps long ways to keep you from falling and there was only 1 tiny tube of shampoo, body wash, lotion and a piece of soap the size of a quarter and you could tell the wrapper had gotten wet OK so now the water got hot then you barely turn the cold on and no more hot after finally adjusting the water the whole time in the shower you could tell when someone else turned the water on so cold and sometimes warm then go to lay down oh my the bed was horrible very uncomfortable and I finally asked for a fan due to the curtains they did bring one and it actually worked great so the only good thing about our stay at this OYO MOTEL was the nice gentlemen that brought the fan and the next morning we went to the front and I questioned the young lady about the charges well her and the man assured me there was only $144.00 taken so well see if not I will get a lawyer. You all can make up your own mind. The workers were very polite so I will update this if they return my money including the extra $28.80.
Very nice place to stay. Gentlemen at front counter was VERY accommodating and courteous. Will come back just for that! Rooms were “humble” but clean. Loved the soft carpet! Overall for the price, and EXCELLENT customer service-they can’t be beat!!
Close to eating place and store so the price was also great
It looked pretty sketchy when I pulled up to the motel. Once inside it was neat and clean. Staff was friendly. Room was clean.
Good Old days. Spent ALOT of weekends here parting while going to School at AFB during 1980-1981! Nice Hotel and was left alone. Walking Distance back n Forth. Booked solid everyweekend.Alot of Booze, Drugs, GirlsThe good old days!
It was an excellent experience spending a night at this hotel. The room I stayed was very clean and all the amenities worked perfectly well. I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. I wish I had more time, I would have stayed longer. Kudos to the management and staff of the hotel!
These people are crooks. I booked a reservation far in advance for a recurring event weekend, and they called me a couple months later to state they had to cancel it. At first they said it was because they were overbooked. Turns out they just upped the price. I finally got them to explain to me that they cancelled my confirmed reservation due to “price fluctuation”. I was forced to rebook at a higher rate. Terrible way to do business. The event happens every year and has for more than 20 years. So they know it’s a high demand weekend, they should have priced it accordingly in the first place.
The customer service was wonderful. Rooms were cozy, clean and had everything we needed. Very nice people run this hotel. You cant beat this for the price. We will definitely be coming back. :)
It was alright and we were very lucky 2 get a room on the 1st floor & having 2 beds being very late @ night. The bed was very very comfy & great size. We were happy 2 have cable, microwave & fridge + some more amenities
This place MIGHT be fine for $40/day but we got seriously price gauged during HHH. I know it’s normal for hotel prices to rise during events but this was not a good experience. Not clean, no water from the sink, blow dryer and microwave didn’t work, smelly like smoke and/or mildew. Random people knocking on doors during the middle of the night… just make sure you realize what you’re paying for.
This place was dirty and roach infested. It had a bunch of people sitting outside with their rooms and doors wide open with kids running in and out of the rooms until 3am in the morning. Horrible experience and I want my money back!
Upon arrival the hotel seemed nice, but this of course is too good to be true at this price point. I stayed at this hotel while my fiance was in school at Sheppard. The bed was clean, and bed bug free and the bathroom also SEEMED clean surprisingly. However the toilet did not work, you had to take off the top and lift the chain to flush it. The chain was disgusting and covered in rust. This started day 1. By my 4th night, the entire handle had fallen off of the toilet due to the rust damage on the inside. On day 1 one of the keys stopped working as well. So we I was down to 1 room key with no back up. I had also found that the microwave in the room was without a plate. I was in the process of moving to Witchita Falls so I could be with my future husband, so I had most of my belongings with me including a dog crate. My dog, was kept with a sitter during this time. Then room service began to insist I had a dog because of the cage. An indian man came knocking in my door threatening to charge me for a dog, and to just confess to having one with me in the room. He made threats to charge me for having a dog as well, despite no dog being present (he came in and looked around, as he insisted on performing a thorough search of my room). He also threatened that he would come to check if there was a dog randomly and often. I explained myself and situation as he proceeded to interrogate and harass me for about 10 minutes over this cage and the dogs whereabouts. It got to a point where I just had to take all of the dogs belongings to the sitters house in an effort to discontinue this. Shocking that this type of behavior is allowed in a hotels staff. Staying in the room for as long as I did, I also came to find that the bathroom is not quite as clean as expected. I killed at least half a dozen bugs during my stay, including some cockroaches. And saw even more bugs that I did not have the opportunity to take pictures of or get rid of. The bugs were appalling. But the thing that hurt my stay most were threats made by staff. It seemed the staff may have simply wanted to tac on to my bill to earn a quick buck, as they had little evidence of any dog being present. The blatant disregard for general customer service as well as the comfort of the guest was disheartening here. I was glad to have checked out early and get myself and my things out of there. Plan on staying away from this spot here on out, and I would recommend that to others as well.
This was a beautiful and charming hotel in Wichita Falls, not too far from practically anything. The breakfast spread was delicious and the chef went out of his way to make me a vegetarian sandwich when I asked him! The beds are cosy and you can snuggle in them forever. Its beautiful, clean, warm and fits beautifully in the architectural essence of Wichita Falls. Loved my stay here!
Tried to cancel at desk after paying with debit card. Was told could only do that if I had cancelled the day before I booked and there would be a cancellation fee equal to the fee for the room and that a hold of $100 would be held against my debit card for 14 Do not stay here! Pure brown trash!
Very clean room. Comfy bedding, nice hot shower. Pet friendly. TV and wifi great. Friendly front desk.
Great service, comfortable rooms, and fluffy towels! Rupal was super helpful making check in a breeze...You can pay by credit card or cash, but they do ask for a $150 security deposit, regardless. I paid mine cash and received it back upon my departure. If you use cc expect a 10-14 day wait for the deposit to be posted back. For $90 total for 2 rooms with 2 beds each ..it was a great value. Thanks Rupal!!!
Rooms were clean. A/C worked good. Quiet. Have stayed at a few OYO hotels and this is one of the nicest. All the employees were very professional and friendly.
Best value I’ve ever had. Great room for the lowest price anywhere. The property is clean and well maintained. Friendliest people I’ve met just very genuine at heart that make you feel welcomed. Only place I would stay when in Wichita Falls Texas
I was booked into a room right next to another one that was being renovated. The walls are as thin as paper, so its very easy to hear everything thats happening in surrounding rooms and out on the street--which wouldnt be such an issue if it werent for the location; I could hear traffic pretty much all throughout the night. That wouldnt be so bad, either, if that part of Wichita Falls didnt apparently see a lot of police activity. Sirens went off at least three times that night. All of that might still be bearable, but, I kid you not, someone literally landed a helicopter and then took off with it again not a block away that same night, too. It suffices to say that I got not sleep at all that night, after driving all the way from Albuquerque that day.In summation, terrible rooms and terrible location, at least if youre looking to sleep well. If thats whats your prioritizing, then please find yourself somewhere else to stay if youre spending the night in Wichita Falls.
Oyo Hotel Witchita Falls, TexasIt’s truly upsetting that this was the best rated hotel on our route, all for the experience to totally contradict the public opinion of this place. My husband & I stopped here with our children in the hopes of catching maybe 5 hours or so of Zzz’s before continuing the long journey to our destination. We arrived on Sunday at approximately 9:36 PM. Upon entry into Rooms 213 & 219, I discovered a consistency in texture throughout the carpet. It was as if the fibers were matted with a thick layer of dirt & filth accumulated from the last 10 years of operation. Next, were the restrooms. Before reaching the doors in both rooms, I was greeted by a faint smell of urine. While deciding the need to rest our restless bodies was vital for cognitive functioning, overlooking these issues grew to be a little more than unbearable, especially after encountering the 2nd to final discrepancy. Dissatisfaction with the rooms left me unable to sleep soundly. When I finally felt myself drifting to sleep, my short lived peace succumbed to the disruption of soft tickling on my forehead. Another traveling wave of tickles forced me to subconsciously slapped my head only to discover the oozing guts of a roach stuck on my palm. I spent a good 2 minutes vigorously scrubbing my hands. My husband grabbed our sleeping kids & our belongings & loaded the car before addressing the atrocities at hand. Before finally storming out, I walked through the room ensure nothing was left behind, & to get my suitcase.. I caught quick motioning of something near the a/c .. a closer look presented yet another roach!! My husband & I went to confront whoever the matter concerned. A 3 minute combination of ringing the doorbell & the rising crescendo of knocking finally dragged a nonchalant & visibly annoyed female clerk to the window. Still traumatized from the roach, my eyes welled & I shook uncontrollably as I explained to this girl what happened. Without presenting an ounce of empathy or remorse she told me to wait, dispersing between the curtains. I waited as I was rudely gestured to do. We waited 2 more minutes hoping to speak with anyone competent enough to avoid uselessly resisting an issue of this magnitude. From the slit of the curtains, a sluggish, even more unenthusiastic male approached the window. I demanded a refund of both rooms & assured him that there was no other way to correctly solve this issue. I promised the potential unrest & consistent push for my chosen route of resolution. I told them if the $286 + $87 3rd party fees wasn’t willingly returned to my account, I will seek legal counsel.. KT arrogantly responded, “I’m not really concerned about all of that!” He gave me a 1844 number, explaining that Booking.com were the ones liable for refund. I actually utilize the diminishing God given ability to analyze & THINK for myself. The itemized list of my recent account transactions included; 2} $100 holding fees, 2} $43 charges from the entry level OHNO Hotel, & an initial $87 charge from Booking.com. The duo had no intentions on refunding me. I walked away & decided to attempt to speak with several “unavailable supervisors” about the distasteful lack of Hospitality, Respect & Customer Service shown to me. The 844 number sent me through a maze of increasingly frustrating dead ends. Often leading me back to square 1.. attempted calls from me , my husband & son phones were recognized & childishly forwarded to voicemail. The idealism of the inexperience night staff at 1601 8th Street 76301 has solidified my stance in never spending a dime with this company & spreading the word encouraging the thousands of people I know to avoid the establishment to avoid feeling like step kids who suffers unexpected mistreatment from an undeserving last resort or sacrifice.
I found cockroaches all over the room and bathroom. I took pictures of them all. I immediately went to the front desk and canceled the room. When I asked for my money back they told me to contact Expedia because I had booked a room through them. An agent from Expedia told me that those from the hotel wanted to talk to me directly. even though I was already at the front desk at the hotel. I called the number a couple of times but they didnt answer. I didnt get my money back.
This place is amazing ! I was visiting for about a week and was super stressed about choosing a place to stay.. reading all the reviews for every hotel etc etc. Bottom line, I am so glad I chose this OYO. It was very clean and I was so comfortable the entire time. The staff was also very kind and very helpful. I will definitely be staying here again during my next visit (:
The room was clean, if a little shabby (chipped paint, ill-fitting fixtures) but for the price, it was just fine. Our room had a fridge, microwave and coffee pot. The shower was ok; Ive had worse in $200 Hiltons.
It was one of the first hotel rooms I have had that when they said it was non smoking, it really smelled like it hadnt been smoked in. It had some things that didnt work but nothing I needed. It was clean and a very nice place to stay. I would stay there again. And the personnel were very curious and friendly. Thank you folks.
I like this place cause they are very respectful and nice to help people when they dont have proper id
The carpet was disgusting and covered with cigarette burns. The bedding was stained (and some of it was clearly dirty). Nothing like the pictures.Lady working front desk was rude and acted like she had better things to do than to assist customers.
The staff was nice and the room was very clean. Location is good with stores and gas stations nearby. The Wi-Fi is fast too. The walls are a little thin though, so people in other rooms can be heard.
BUGSWe booked this hotel late at night just passing through. When I looked at ratings online I saw no mention of bugs, which I always check for. We got to our room and I pulled down the blankets fast and saw three little bedbugs crawling around near the headboard. We left and called Expedia for a refund. We got a refund and then later found out that they could have put us in a better hotel for the same price. Oh well. We slept in the car at a truck stop.
Located downtown, it was affordable, clean, and the showerhead can be replaced with your own--a big plus for me, forgot to take it with me, though :(. There were, however, two cockroaches that came out to say hi and most of the time the internet was slow with brief periods of high speed. Despite this, its still a great price for what youre getting.EDIT:Staying here a second time, the room I received this time around is much better than the first one: newer, more furnishings, and more spacious. Internet is faster and better connectivity although it still drops to a crawl from time to time. It feels like a total upgrade and an even better deal for the price. The bath is very slippery, though, so be careful, because you will fall very easily. One thing I do wish is that all the rooms had a Do Not Disturb sign available in them. The first room I had had one, while the second one didnt.
We were there from 7th to 9th December, we were celebrating our anniversary, Mr Daniel at the front desk upgraded us to a better room, then he sent us an anniversary card with some goodies, I think that was a great gesture from the hotels part . We loved our stay there, will definitely recommend.
DO NOT STAY HERE. I would give it zero stars if it were possible. 1. The place is in a sketchy part of town.2. I could hear full conversations in 2 rooms that shared a wall with mine, complete with an argument in one room and baby making in the other.3. Helicopters flew over multiple times in the 2 hours I tried to sleep.4. They have zero WIFI so getting work done wasnt an option.5. The room itself had a bunch of holes in places, bubbles in the ceiling and the lamps had no knows to turn them on.I am including pictures.
Its okay for a cheap place. My only problem were how many crickets were in the room and the cigarette burns in the sheets made it a little uncomfortable on top of the bed being hard. But the shower was great pressure, plenty of room for your stuff, and pretty good tv. Although it is in a skeptical location.
Our 3 night stay at the Wichita Falls in early June was voted by our kids as one of the highlights of our 5 week vacation. They didnt want to go and see the sights, just spend the day lazing around the place enjoying the free snacks &drinks. The rooms are excellent for families and the complementary laundry service meant we didnt have to spend our time in a Laundromat.
The Hotel claimed my prepaid reservation was canceled. No explanation except to offer a lesser room for more money. Do not recommend this business practice and especially do not recommend this place.
It is what it is. Room was cheap and service was decent. The towel are like sandpaper and beds are squishy but for 40 bucks you cant ask for much more. If you want top of the line this is not it but if you want cheap and clean this works.
This is a motel, a cheap one at that. So you get what you pay for. My boyfriend and I just needed a place to chill out for 2 nights so it was awesome. Cory at the front desk you’re awesome and the young cleaning lady you’re awesome, I opened the door and I know I was acting goofy but you’re cool 😎 y’all deserve a raise.
I went there and didn’t know that it was for users under 21 because nothing in Expedia said it and they refused to return my money
The room was very shabby and rundown. One of the light fixtures over the bed was burned out so the room was very dim. The air conditioner was very loud and kept waking me up throughout the night.
They room was clean and it was very quiet, I was able to get rest after driving a long way, The staff was nice and they office was clean and everything in there was really nice. I will come back and I refer people to come also to enjoy there stay.
Bugs EVERYWHERE. We had to switch rooms for bugs once and still woke up to bugs in the bed. We also had a begger come and bang on our door at midnight to ask for money and ruin our sleep. The staff was nice but it was a terrible experience. Definitely dont recommend, even for the cheap price
Great room, shady people lurking around but outside. If you dont mind a creepy parking lot area or vagrants but just want a cheap room, this is your place. Room was great btw, Direct Tv, free WiFi, and two comfy queen beds. Just be alert of the creeps hanging around!
Booked a room for 2 nights on hotels.com for a guaranteed rate. Went to check in and they had already charged my card and told me I had to pay an additional 50 dollars for a security fee. I dont recommend this place to anyone and will tell everyone I know to stay away from oyo hotels. They told me that every hotel is doing this now. NOT TRUE because I stay in hotels every time I travel. And I travel quite frequently. Worst hotel experience of my life.
Didnt stay here. I came to the desk at 6AM with intention to sleep for 5 hours as I drove all night. Their website (as well as expedia and hotels.com) all had prices ranging from 38-42. I was quoted 62 plus tax. If anything you usually get a price break if you check in super late, not double the rate available online. Left and wont be back.
Ive gotten to different rooms and Ive had bed bugs and a bunch of insects. Holes by the a/c, stained bed sheets and carpet, and shower heads held with duck tape. Spend the extra money and dont risk getting something from these hotels.
My husband found a meth pipe underneath the AC unit, and there were hookers hanging around the parking lot. The hotel is located in an area with a lot of drug activity and I felt very unsafe here. The room itself was okay, but they are non-refundable. If you have children, this is not a very family friendly environment at all.
I booked four rooms for our Boy Scout troop both on our way to and from Philmont in New Mexico. The room is clean and the folks that run it are nice and accommodating. The price can’t be beat!
Had a great stay. Clean rooms and a more than fair rate!
The motel was a older motel, young man at the front was super nice and accommodatng, the rooms was very clean and quiet, I would return.
Our family of four, with kids aged 8 and 10 stayed here for five nights in late May. From the moment we walked in, jetlagged and bedraggled after the 13-hour flight from Australia, the staff couldnt do enough to help us. This was exemplified by Manager Darrens reaction when he found out our daughter had misplaced, and ultimately lost, her phone upon arrival in the TX.
I paid for 2 rooms and 1 room was good but the room my kids was in had bed bugs. I checked out. Never again there.
Doesn’t even deserve a star, our keys wouldn’t work plus the fact that their were crickets on the floor, roaches on the bedside, and dead bugs on the table tops. And you can’t forget the rooms cracked windows filling the air with the aroma of sweaty- mildew.
I had a very nice time. It was quite which is what I was looking for and not expensive at all. It was clean and the water was hot.
Definitely worth the price. We got 2 rooms. One room had a few problems that the staff took care of. The other room was clean with no problems. Staff was prompt and helpful!
We visit our son in LA often but have never stayed at this hotel before. We just loved EVERYTHING about this place. The location is great...close to Downtown location ...easy access to the ways.... The hotel staff at this hotel is extremely friendly and accommodating.
Great customer service, rooms are nice and clean. The bath tubs get a little slippery. Prices are worth the stay! I will definitely be back
The 5 star reviews are all from the same time frame (currently 2 months ago), and from posters that reviewed other OYO properties all over the United States - also 2 months ago. I find it suspicious that multiple people bounced all over the US in the same week, living their best lives at OYO properties
Great price, clean rooms, renovations nice change from last year.....New toilet, new vinyl flooring, marble countertop in bathroom. Pleasant office staff. Will be back
Perfect for the crash and burn quickie sleep get up and go in the AM kind of place. Dont expect more than what you are paying for but it is worth every penny and then some.
Convenient comfy spot to stop for a night
Great hotel. Quite, no rift raft hanging around. Room was clean, very friendly staff.
I stayed here for business but was joined by my husband and son since the trip coincided with spring break. The hotel was super nice, clean and has a very accommodating staff. Great location, too. I would recommend this hotel for TX visitors
They were great people. Management was so accommodating, helped with anything they could. Quiet and other people mostly stayed to themselves. Good place to stay.
Everything was clean . service was excellent .my concern was depoist amount on hold and havent received it back on my card. Its been 17 days. Keep getting told in 3 then. 7 then 10 then 14 now its 16 days till I receive it still havent .
Very clean hotel very nice staff. Took great care of us we had some special requests. would definetly stay again and will be staying again
Love it here! Staff is very polite and rooms are clean. No bugs and remodeled rooms. Reviews that mention bugs are angry customers I guess. This is my home when I come into town.
The service was quick and efficient. I was able to get checked into my room in less than 10 minutes. Shout out to TK behind the desk
Great customer service. I stay here doing the week for business and thus far have enjoyed every night. They are small hotel but the customer service is friendly and great.
Loved this hotel! So close to everything, literally in walking distance to the Chinese show, mall, boulevard, all shops restaurants everything. We were served by a gentlemen on reception by the name of Ben, who went over and above to welcome us
Had to come to Texoma for family..very quiet stay...front desk is really nice an helpful...SHOUT out to Esther she goes above and beyond..(give her a raise!!) To ensure we had a pleasant stay..thanks for helping me and my mom with the tv.
This place is disgusting and down awful. I would not recommend staying here. They forced me to waste two hours of my life getting a refund THEY offered me going back and forth with the app I booked them thru then told me they would not refund me due to their policy. Awful people, awful hotel. Don’t waste your time and money.
For the prices, the rooms are not bad. Everything was clean, people were very nice.
I’ve been to this place a hand full of times rooms clean and don’t stink wish oyo would put all vinyl in rooms
Went there & was met with great service. Had a false promise tho when I called the # that took me to California & the person on the line lied to me. So the hotels great, service is great, calling isnt
HAD A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE CHECKING IN THANKS TO THE MAN HELPING US. HAD REQUESTED A FIRST FLOOR ROOM AND LUCKELY THERE WAS ONE AVAILABLE. NONE WERE RESERVED FOR US AS PROMISED BY OYO RESERVATIONS!
From the outside, this place doesnt look like much. Its right off of Wichita Falls, and a person would understandably be skeptical on approach. But as soon as you step in the door, the Wichita Falls TX goes about earning its rating. The front-desk
This hotel was cheap but clean. It looks like theyre in the process of renovating. Plus, they were nice at 12:30am.
Nice place. Clean, like 9 HBO channels. Will be staying again later this month until we get a new place.
Incredibly clean and quiet for the price. I would have been happy paying twice as much as I did for what I received. Thanks for the pleasant stay, guys!!
Comfortable and clean. Room right by ice machine so it was a little noisy. No frills ok motel.
The man at the front desk was so kind and helpful with directions to Little Rock. The hotel was very clean and felt safe
My stay was great and I will stay again as long as they make me feel like family and the way they welcome me there.
They took $100 cash as a deposit for the room and the next morning would only give me back $50 while there was nothing damaged or broken in the room.
Cockroaches in the bathroom when I arrived. The front desk person didnt even acknowledge it.
Great rooms. Will surely stay again in future. Friendly staff and clean corridors.
We stayed on 04/08/23 easy to book a d great rates.
Everything was clean, but 1 of the 2 locks were broken and you practically had to kick the door to get it to close.
It’s a $30 a night room. Bring some fabreeze, you will need it. No frills just a cheap place to stay.
Not the Hilton but very clean and when they say non smoking they mean it. Good hard working folks!
The location is great Five minutes’ walk from the Libraries, ten minutes drive from the universal studios and if you dont haves car you can go there by the close metro.
Carpet looked like a crime had taken place. Tattered and stained. Filthy , and I mean filthy chair.
It was a cheap hotel..room was clean enough. Odd characters in the area but it was safe
TAHE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN ,BEDS VERY COMFY ,SLEPT LIKE A ROCK,I WILL RETURN AGAIN,THANK YOU
Had a great night of sleep. Worth it for $ 38 for Double Bedroom with all amenities.
Early check in fees .... late check in fees ..... 200$ dollar deposit even if your staying for a night .... simply they are ripping off ppl .
Great hotels they sinks are a little run down but the bedrooms are great
Got the job done.
They had bed bugs and bite my husband and they didn’t give us a full refunded only the days we didn’t stay
Its was clean and the rooms were very nice.
Bed too hard. Not enough pillows.
Rooms were extremely clean, and will keep going back!
You get what you pay for. It was cleanish. Proximity to the hospital was perfect.
Nice room for a good price
Amazing hotel! Friendly staff! Rooms are great.
Here for a week rooms were clean and everything was good
It was somewhat clean not Too bad its real strict on the rules
Place is pretty cool, theres ab109 dollar deposit though
Nice rooms. Great service! Good experience!
Clock didnt work. TV didnt work. Phone didnt work. But I guess thats what you get for $40/night.
Clean and cheap. Nicer than expected.. Would stay again.
The phone and one of the lights didn’t work
Its a one and done for me... The price point was alluring, and I guess you get What you pay for.
Lots of bugs in my room and when I complain they said no one has never complain about this issue.
Clean room good customers service and affordable.
Clean easy to get to off the highway a little older than I thought it was going to be but it was clean
Very simple rooms, but very reasonable prices.
Nice clean roomsExcellent service
First of all they wanted a 150 dollar room deposit
Bro please stop harrassing me for a review
I think that air conditioning units need mantainence.
Nice 50 dollar room
Overall bad from the customer service to the run down rooms!!!
Exactly what youd expect from a cheap hotel. Cheap and easy.
Room was nice at a very good price.
Not bad for the price. Desperately needing a remodel
Clean, good prices. Will sleep here again.
Roach motel with bed bugs and poor service.
The room door that lead out side, wouldnt shut all the way. Enough said.
Friendly check in. But the room was in sad shape.
Decent price and kind service from front desk
It was clean and had friendly staff.
Dirty....dirty towels and sheets. Skip it if possible
