So my girlfriend called and wanted to do a couples message. So they made the appointment. However a few days before hand they called and cancelled. Said the message therapist was not comfortable doing a couples message. So my girlfriend thought probably because we were gay they didn’t want to. I was like no never. Well low and behold I called from my number pretending to want an appointment for my husband and I. Strange they had an opening and were fine to do it. Such discrimination. We will never waste our money here.
This location is incredibly poorly managed. According to signs posted on their doors, theyve permanently closed as of 4/16/2021. However, as a client who has consistently held appoints here (every 3-5 weeks) for over 18 months and didnt cancel my membership when they were shut down because of the pandemic, I wouldnt have expected to learn they were close before I showed up for an appointment. I never received a courtesy call that they were closing. They didnt even update their voicemail. Given that this wasnt the first time the changed hours after I had scheduled an appoint and they didnt communicate that change with me, I shouldnt be surprised. But Im still very frustrated. And while I am sad that this business had to close and that any business isnt able to survive, I do hope the individuals who owned/operated this location reconsider their customer service approaches before they open another business. If I could rate just the massage therapist I received massage from, Id happily give that individual 5 stars.
I suspended my membership fee month back after got sore from my last deep tissue massage. Last month someone called and I told him to call me back because I was driving. Two weeks ago I saw $240 withdrew from my bank. I called to the office and told the person I am having breast surgery and cannot do any massage from a long time. She was unprofessional. She told me they will call me back but nothing. I didn’t even authorized $240 and not right thing to do while I am going through big surgery.
I have had lots of massages for many years , but never experienced anything like this. My 90 minute session was performed by Amy who has no people skills, lacks professionalism, or caring, ignoring your requests, cutting the session time etc...She came out in to the lobby 5 minutes later than our scheduled start time, went to get supplies 2 times, went to bathroom, so we started 15 min. later and the lost time was never made up; she finished by announcing that my time is up. My request to work a little on my spine area was totally ignored, never worked on my upper chest or front neck area (as Ive previously marked yes on their questionnaire). She spent very short time on my feet even after I expressed the need to do more than 1-2 minutes on them. Ive never experienced any therapist to work mostly with one hand - wondering what was she doing with the other one in the meantime? She did it quite often during my session. Her fingernails were so sharp as she worked on the back of my neck that they hurt, so I asked her that she should move on a different area to work on, but she never even apologized for the discomfort of it. I filled out the survey what they had sent out next day and the ass. manager called me with a How can I help you with a lukewarm tone. After telling him about my experienced, he apologized without any comments on his part and that was the end of our conversation. Its already too much of my time to write in more details about the whole experience, like they dont even have a background music going in the room which is also so bare. But now I know why all Massage Envy salons in general - especially at this location - which has such a low rating of only 3.3 from Reviews. What I wonder is how can a business function with such employees and reputation? Obviously the branch owners dont really care.
Very disappointing experience. My mother and our whole family have been members at this location for many years. One time my mother, who is 75 years old , got sick and couldn’t come to her scheduled massage, they charged her the entire amount for that missed massage. I called and explained the reason, but the manager was extremely rude on the phone and refused to work with us. I asked for the owner’s phone number and called the owner directly several times. The owner of this establishment never answered and never returned my calls. Very unprofessional and very disappointing experience. We canceled our membership. Do not recommend to anyone. There is no appreciation for long term customers nor understanding when people are sick. In addition, it is very difficult to find a good massage therapist at Massgae Envy, and if you are lucky and find a good one, they usually leave this establishment shortly and you have to search for another one by spending your money on bad massages.
If I could give a 0 star rating I would. They assured me I was booking with a deep tissue therapist, but turned out the therapist did not specialize in deep tissue. This has happened more than once. Waste of time and money. On another occasion, they switched therapists on me with no notice when the appt had been scheduled over a month in advance, which meant I had to reschedule. Most recently they canceled my last appt of the membership and no return call after I called right back and left a vm. I now only have a week and a half to use my last two sessions and they don’t have an esthetician, which was not communicated to me when the appt was canceled two weeks ago. Poor service. But what do you expect from a mass service salon. I don’t know if this is indicative of all locations, but the one on Murray Scholls is definitely not a winner in my opinion. I should say, however, that most of the therapists there are nice - they just need to figure out the administrative stuff. The business model is great for people who are busy, but not when things like the above happen multiple times. It just causes frustration and more stress when time is already so limited - which is the opposite experience of what their service should be providing. I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel it’s prudent to share after more than one or two bad experiences.
Ive never had a bad experience or bad massage at this location (Murray/Scholls). I do have a monthly automatically charged to my credit card membership, that allows me to bank my massages as I travel out of town quite a bit and if I am unable to use a Massage Envy in another location, I know that I can always have my massages here.Ive never experienced corporate greed/pushiness/rudeness. I am especially happy that I get a call the day before my appointment as I often (even though I have it on the calendar) remiss at remembering my time and date.Enjoy your time on the massage table and forget about your day.....in fact, Im heading over now.....
POOR. DO NOT sign up for a membership! This is the most unorganized company Ive ever encountered. Not only are all of the employees incapable of answering any simple questions regarding your account because they dont have access unless you call your home location, they also cant seem to call you by the right name (My name is NOT Kathy). Complete MESS. This company advertises being able to use their services at ANY location in the U.S. but it is IMPOSSIBLE because they are so disorganized and sloppy. I lost 2 massage sessions because an employee verbally told me my expiration date was X but in reality they had false information. I transferred a massage to my mother as a gift in another city, was charged $10, AND she couldnt get her massage for 3 weeks because they did not transfer the credit to her account, but insisted it was there. I had to call several locations to figure out what the issue was and it was INCOMPETENCE. Terrible company. Awful administrative staff. The therapists are wonderful but the company is seriously FLAWED.
ORIGINAL: Only because I cannot give them zero stars. They stole $360 from us by failing to keep an appointment for my husband or for myself FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE MONTHS, including an appointment that was four days before our wedding. All appointments were scheduled a month in advance. My appointment today was cancelled with two hours notice. After speaking to the manager, he refused to cancel and refund our membership fees for the last three months after they were incapable of keeping an appointment. We pretty much paid these guys $360 to not keep any appointments for three months. Awesome right?I will be speaking with corporate on Monday, contacting my local news station, and filing a complaint with the BBB.—-UPDATE: After they called me and my husband to cancel an appointment on Friday due to staffing, two hours before my appointment, they then felt the need to charge us a No Show fee because they did not cancel our appointments AND because it was less than two hours notice. Really?!I contacted the non-emergency police to file a report, have had to cancel both my husband and I’s debit card to prevent any further fraudulent charges to our card after their staff and manager, Chris, refused to cancel our membership or remove our cards from on file.I will also be filing a small claims report with my local county to have all undue charges returned to me. Also, for my time to have to replace myself and my husband’s debit cards. This company is CRIMINAL.—-SECOND UPDATE: Found out they also lied about cancelling our membership yesterday, and found another $60 charge on my personal card today. A card I long removed and did not have authorized on my account.I will be including charge reversal fees and overdrafts in my small claims report.
I received a gift certificate for $100 on my birthday, I have been trying to set up an appointment for over 4 month, in two occasions Massage Envy called me and cancel about an hour before my scheduled appointment is set, supposedly because the person that is suppose to perform the massage called in sick, even though I was called by them the day before to confirm the appointment. I am very disappointed, and would like to cash my gift certificate, I just do not trust this business.
We bought our daughter a gift card for a massage here. She gave them the gift card when she checked in and they said she was good to go. She got a massage from a guy who talked the whole time about himself (specifically about how we didnt like being a masseuse and wanted to be a musician) which wasnt relaxing. She said the massage was the worst shes ever gotten (and shes had quite a few). She left the shop and they came running after her saying she didnt pay and screaming at her like she was a criminal. She thought she paid when she gave them the card. They were really rude to her and my wife called and explained that the card had already been charged to our VISA and we assumed they debited the card when she gave it to them. The women on the phone was really bitchy to my wife and said my daughter should have known the procedure. Excuse me, but how would she have known? Normally when a store asks for your gift card you assume they are doing something with it, like debiting it. They werent the least bit apologetic. Bottom line...never using this place again and recommend you dont either. Lousy massage, lousy customer relations.
I signed up to a membership here with my husband, but after our first massage we both ended up in pain and getting adjusted at a chiropractor. The chiropractor indicated we had areas of swelling on our backs / shoulders. I understand about getting out knots, but when your client tells you its too much, the massage therapist should be able to adjust. We will both try different therapists for our next massage and I will update the review if the experience is different.
Be very clear and direct about what you want in a massage, otherwise you end up getting 2 massages from 2 different masseuses and still dont get a full massage. Hour of one lady holding my head and another hour of a guy massaging my hands. All I wanted was a regular massage. The staff is friendly though, and the facilities are nice for a strip mall massage place.
I must write a review as I have had yet another mistake with my scheduled appointments! I have found 2 fantastic therapists. Unfortunately they work at the Massage Envy at Murray Scholls. 3 times Ive had appointments -scheduled in person at the location. And written on an appointment card by their scheduler. When I either showed up or called to confirm these appointments, I was not on the schedule!!! Being that I (and most ) plan/schedule for these appointments It is very frustrating, to say the least!! I would like to cancel my membership but in doing so Ill lose all built up time I have! All I get is Im sorry! And I dont know what happened ... Needless to say I write all info down (who scheduled, what day and time it was scheduled when I schedule now!
A couple of days ago, I made an appointment for a massage today at 2. I was asked to come in at 1:45-1:50 to fill out paperwork. Ok. No problem. I was almost there at about 1:40 when I received a call stating I was late for my appointment. I explained I thought it was for 2, she says no, so I think ok, we had a misunderstanding, lets reschedule. Then Im informed that the balance of the gift card I gave them would be billed regardless of rescheduling. Wow. If it was my mistake, fine, I would be understanding, but I very distinctly remember having great conversation about how scheduling on the hour is a better use of their time, so I went for that. And specifically remember being told to arrive by 1:45-1:50. I immediately put it on my calendar when I hung up. No misunderstanding here.I dont often write reviews but this was unbelievably frustrating.
I am sure that the policies dont change from one location to another, so my experience might not be unique to this location. However, this place is on a hustle. The fine print of how they do business is not upfront and thats how they get you. I got a gift certificate to this place and made my first appointment. They told me that if I no showed they would charge me for the appointment, but if I needed to cancel in advance that it was not a problem. The day of my appointment I had to call and cancel due to work. I did this 10 hours in advance and the lady on the phone asked me if I wanted to reschedule. I told her I would have to call back next week once I could look at my schedule. She told me that their policy is if I dont reschedule I would be charged for the full appointment, but since this was my first time they would let me get away with it...this time. Im sorry, but they seriously charge people if they dont reschedule?! All I could do was laugh and hang up. This was such a turn off I dont plan on making another appointment at all. Even if I have a gift card. Im sure I can find someone who wants to support these people with my gift card that my friend wasted money on.
Horrible Customer care. I have a one year membership with these guys at a different location and as I moved to a different location now, I chose this place for my massages. I have scheduled an appointment with these guys and twice they have to re-book it saying their therapists have called sick. I can understand that part but the way the lady spoke was arrogant.
I had a one year membership which finally expired in January but was told I had to give a 30 day notice in order for them to stop taking money from my account. The last two sessions when I would book an appoinment, the receptionist screwed up the time. The first time I asked for 90 min. When I got there they only had my scheduled for 60. Then the second time I was very specific to what I wanted. I had her repeat the time and day and minutes. When I arrived they didnt even have me on the schedule. Are you freaking kidding me!!! What is wrong with these people! In this economy what a stupid way to lose business.
Ive tried several of the therapists at this location and enjoyed all of my massages. They have some very skilled therapists working here. The front desk is helpful and kind, and the setting serene.
Their advertising is false. They claim after the initial membership time you can go month to month, but when my therapist left and I tried to immediate cancel, they backpedaled and contradicted their ownpaperwork that SAID immediate termination is possible, and that idiot Alex behind the counter is just a corporate puppet who knows nothing but whats on a 3x5 card he reads to answer questions. They are false advertisers who rip off their massage therapists paying them starvation wages while the company takes all the money -- they push their contract deals like used car salesmen then go over exceptions as to why they cant honor your cancellation due to the fine print. Completely deceptive, avoid this company, they are not worth it.
This place abused the fact that my card information was inputted while booking an appointment online. I was charged an entire service fee of $110 for an appointment and service I never even had - I called and canceled within an appropriate timeframe. My card should have never been charged! Now I have to deal with waiting for my money to be refunded.
Wow. Talk about let down. Scheduled this appointment for 5pm... so took the day off work (probably not gonna happen again for awhile) for this because my shoulders/back is killing me. They tell me after I do the paperwork and sit there for 15 min. that they feel uncomfortable massaging me in front of someone in the quiet room all because Im 10 weeks pregnant... maybe when I called at 11 am (non-member) that they should ask that question or something when reserving the appointment. Wouldnt have been a problem, would have just went somewhere else. Wowwwwwww.
I have had massages from a couple different MEs and this one was one of the best. I was able to enjoy my massage and not walk out more stressed than when I came in. I liked my therapist. She is one of the good ones.
Corporate Vampires, only interested in your money. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY.The main bozo at the front counter is a corporate lackey. He got into an argument with me over the phone over the way their contract is written. They have no interest in customer service, only your monthly check. And if you try to stop payment on it, in any way, theyll go after you with a collection agency. They dont care about taking care of you, even after their massage therapists hurt my back. If they hurt you? Too bad. They want their money. They are an evil company.
Wifes review: she had a good massage, not amazing but a solid good. The massage therapist talked to much but I tell her before your massage you always say I usually fall asleep she I like it quite.
I have been going to this Massage Envy for nearly 4 years now, and I have an awesome experience every time. Stephany and Faith are both amazing massage therapists, and I have never had anything less than great customer service at the desk.
Booked a same day appointment and somehow my My appointment was canceled with no phone call. I showed up to find out this news and all they offered was to book an appointment for another day. I recommend not booking at this location.
This business is permanently closed. Per the sign on their door, they are closed as of 4/16/2021, yet they dont specify this on Google nor do they have an outgoing message on their voicemail. They claim the closure is due to COVID-19; however, they have always been so busy that bookings are at least a month out.
Their hours say 10 and yet when I stopped by at 8:30 the doors were locked. When I attempted to open them (as the receptionist was inside) the receptionist just sat there and looked at me. You definitely lost my business and the business of anyone who knows me.
First visit. Friendly, knowledgeable staff walked me through my massage and gave pointers to maintain wellness. Clean environment and quite relaxing.
The Meathead behind the counter (who is also a manager) gave my wife such a hard time trying to sell her some massage package, she left there more stressed then before she arrived. Nice move knucklehead. Dont you think that people talk?
My Friend words at the other location as a massage therapist - can you believe they rip off the therapist and tell them to sell those crazy memberships also ! I have had a session also and have to say my therapist was mediocre at best- She said she would work on me at home if i paid her outside- but she was not really good anyway !I hate Massage Envy - they made my friend cry
Been very pleased. It is very affordable if you go with the monthly membership. Its a very nice facility. Nice clean and quiet rooms. Very helpful staff. Been going here 2 years and have always had a great experience.
Wendy find sore spots I didnt even know I had. Ive had chronic back pain for years and it has improved greatly since I started seeing her for regular massages.
Not worth the membership!!! Considering youre paying for a competant masseuse monthly and getting a decent massage once every three at best....
Massage was okay. But nothing special. The masseuse spent half the time trying to sell me more massages. Will not go back
Just had a fantastic massage with Gave who has 10 years experience, The best professional massage I have ever had, This place is busy for a reason.
This place is horrible. 3 out of the 10 appointments I have tried to schedule here have been canceled. They dont notify of the cancellation until within the hour, and not at all in some cases. I showed up for an appointment today, only to be told that it was canceled.
I had a good expierence and a very relaxing facial with Kayla. Just what I needed and my skin feels wonderful. Thanks!
Unprofessional and rude manager followed by a VERY greasy massage. I will I could get out of my membership!
They do a great job of keeping an alternate list when they have cancellations. This gives me more opportunities to slip into an appointment.
Don’t call them here, they have the wrong number when you hit call
My daughter works there they are good pampering your self is so nice
Everyone was so nice, the place was very well decorated and inviting and the service was wonderful. Thanks for everything.
