DV8 Distillery

Welcoming and fun distillery with TONS of events (check out their Facebook page) and a bright colorful atmosphere. We did a relaxed sip and paint watercolors night and loved it! The cocktails are great and the spirits are strong. Its located a bit tucked away but offers a decent amount of parking.

I love this place. The vibe is casual, and welcoming to all, with just the right amount of buzz and edge to keep it interesting.The craft people here take extra care to distill interesting spirits and infuse them with great flavors. Everything from a spicy Thai vodka to an espresso flavored vodka to a bananas foster version.The bartender was kind enough to share a new glittery cocktail with us that you can keep in your freezer and sip on at night or mix with a little prosecco for an extra special summery drink.There are lots of live events, open mic nights, and other things going on in their space. Highly recommend you take the time to check it out when you have a moment.Parking is mostly convenient if you drive to the back of the lot, and I havent been here before when Ive had to wait, but I understand some events get pretty busy.Worth noting theres not a kitchen here so bring food with you, or call ahead and see if theres a food truck the night youre arriving. You can also order delivery to come directly to you at the distillery.

Just awesome! Was my first time at this distillery and I was impressed! The bartender was super friendly and I got to meet one of the owners who was great as well. They have a few spirits to choose from and all the bottles look cool with the artwork they have. I had their bourbon which was so good! I ended up buying a bottle to take home because I liked it so much. It’s made with a five grain mash recipe and it’s definitely has a great complexity. I didn’t try the other spirits but I’m sure they’ll be just as awesome! Highly recommend you give them a try!!

I cannot express how much of a gem this distillery is. Relaxed and fun atmosphere that is extremely inviting. Inspired spirit infusions with clean, clever flavors.Please do yourself a favor and get a flight. The Thai vodka hits every savory note of Thai cuisine perfectly. The Earl Grey vodka (they bottle it for sale and partner with local teahouse), tastes like a delicious cup of tea with a subtle burn.I cant wait to come back.

This place has been my second home since I moved from Florida. Accepting staff, great environment, plenty of free parking, exceptional mixologists, and an awesome stage equipped with lasers, lighting, and sound. Unlike most places in Boulder, they arent virtue signaling. Theyre truely accepting and welcoming. If you want to feel like youre part of the business, come to DV8. Theyll welcome you with open arms.

We LOVE DV8. Many of the spirits are gluten free, the team is fantastic and Drag Queen Bingo is fabulous.

We stopped here while following the Colorado Spirits trail map and right as we walked in the sky opened up and dumped hail so we walked up to the bar and had some amazing drinks and conversation until the hail calmed down. The location is pretty much away from everything but you should go the staff at the bar is super friendly the atmosphere calm and just a great place to hang out.Sadly cant remember the name of the mixed drink we had but it was really darn good and if I was going to take a bottle home it would be their whisky for sure. Do yourself a favor and head on over a a nice drink!

A awesome place to be at. The shows are fun the drinks are wonderful and the atmosphere is so inviting.They say its a place where all can come in and just be themselves, and I say mission statement accomplished.

Really cool hidden gem, off the beaten path - well distilled spirits for free spirits. They have a very welcoming staff and they host really interesting art shows/events.

First visit and just loved it. Super offbeat and friendly to all! Upper tier whiskies and super interesting vodkas! Employees are SO friendly and laidback. Live acts several nights per week on an *actual* stage. Great vibe - if youre reading this review, its probably a place you need to get yourself to...pronto.

I was there in November as a performer, and everyone was treated so kindly. It’s one of my favorite LGBT* venues I’ve gotten to perform at! The bartenders were a lot of fun, the space was intimate, and you could tell by the way people interacted with each other that everyone felt super-comfortable with each other & in the space. I’m excited to check out the renovations that have been done since I was there last!

Absolutely awesome! We happened to visit as they were setting up for a Pokemon themed drag show. The employees had super fun outfits. The drinks were fantastic, the venue really fun, and the service was great. Philip helped us and he was knowledgeable and helpful.

This is my go-to bar when I need to get out of the house and just feel safe and at home while not being actually physically in my home. Ive visited several times, and have always been treated like family. Everyone is friendly, kind, and welcoming. I love the open drag stages in the warmer months! They have tons of different events, too, so theres something for everyone! Thank you DV8 for providing a safe and welcoming place for myself and others in the community!

Great drinks and great vibes. Should note that DV8 itself doesnt serve food so the rating above is for the cocktails. Depending on the day there may be a food truck outside. We got something from Freshly Laid and it was fantastic.

One of my favorite venues in Boulder! They have a fine selection of house made drinks & they are super smooth & packed with amazing flavors! The setup is also very nice & the stage is fantastic.

Phenomenal. Went for a shadow showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show. The entire cast was amazing! Will definitely be back next time were in Colorado

Ive heard such good things about this place and was really sad to be disappointed by my experience there.For reference, the time I went was a themed event night with a cover ($20 advance, $25 at the door), not a regular bar night. I dont know if that makes a difference as Ive only been there the one time (and the experience was bad enough to be worth writing about).The atmosphere was cool and interesting enough; the bartenders were fantastic, awesome human beings who probably deserve a raise; and performers were exactly as advertised and phenomenal. Zero complaints there; though be warned its super easy to spend a fair bit on drinks at this bar ($6 shots, $10-$15 cocktails), so plan accordingly.But the DJs!! Good god, the DJs and dancing were SO. UNBELIEVABLY. LAME. Judging by the otherwise stellar reviews, maybe I just had bad luck and went on a bad night. But seriously, the room was full yet the dance floor was empty the whole night. The WHOLE night, yall. Its not like it just got empty towards the end. No no. When the room was packed at 11 pm, not a single body was vibing or grooving. There were a couple bros who managed some half-hearted head-bobs before giving up. But for some reason the DJs never tried to change up the vibe to engage the crowd, it just seemed like they were playing what they wanted to hear and didnt care about anyone else.Incidentally, the music selection was surprisingly dated. It sounded like it was aiming for the Berlin industrial scene circa 1998, while also randomly teasing samples from mid-90s hiphop, but without letting the samples resolve so it just seemed superfluous... Like, what, does this bar not have an ASCAP license yet?? Can they not play more than 4 beats worth of an iconic riff without being sued??!Its been a really long time since Ive been to a dance night where not one of the several DJs gave a single F that LITERALLY NO ONE was dancing. Isnt it their job to read the room and provide a good, danceable vibe? It just made me sad. All those people paid a not-insignificant cover to go dancing and got... that. I guess DV8 probably made a lot of money either way so maybe it doesnt matter.Anyway, so many friends have told me DV8 was the answer to Boulders long-standing problem as a dancing wasteland... and Im sad to have to tell them theyre wrong. This place was just like every other place Ive seen try to do dancing in Boulder in the last 15 years. Trying and flailing, and probably not going to last.I hope Im wrong and my experience was an outlier. But dont be surprised if you try to go dancing here and just cant because the vibe is so cursed.

Nick is an excellent bartender and I loved Lidias playlist! The 100% rice bourbon is really smooth. The peanut butter bourbon is a nice dessert on its own. Had a great time.

We recently had our wedding here! It was the perfect venue for a queer couple. The staff was wonderful in helping us plan and coordinating with the catering and rental companies. They set up chairs in front of the stage for the ceremony. Then they moved the chairs out and set up tables for the reception. Afterwards, they cleared the tables out and we had a dance party. It was perfect. We are so happy we decided to have DV8 host our special day. Highly recommended. The drinks are amazing, too! They had special cocktails for our wedding day and the guests loved it.

Went here for a drag show and it was so great all the queens and kings were fantastic, the bartenders were so nice and the drinks here were delicious.

Have only gone for the Saturday night life, so I cant speak on the distillery outside of that. But its definitely a place to go with your friends to hangout, not to meet people. Not a super welcoming space unless you already have an in .

So delicious, a lot of fun events, went for our 1 year anniversary and Drag Bingo was just starting. Some of the only liquor I can drink neat, its so smooth! Great and friendly staff as well who treated us fantastic for our anniversary, thank you!

Amazing space for fancy drinks and great dancing

Been several times and its always so fun. Drinks are yummy, usually themed for the event, and not over priced. There are some pretty cool events here so I try check their calendar pretty regularly.

Phillip is an absolute asset to this place! While we weren’t able to do the tour, he gave us the low down on everything! We did the flight and my mom and I each had a cocktail. He gave us an extra to share! We had the strawberry basil tini, the Pride (OMG! So good!) and the Thai margarita. Perfection made by a cocktail artist. It felt like a VIP adventure with him and I can’t wait to see Phillip again! This place is incredible! Thanks for spending your Thursday night with us! ❤️

DV8 is a great space for all to come and be themselves. They have the best events and the community is essential to Boulder!! One time I went to and event here and ended up kissing a man that looked like Chris Pratt.

Since @lowerchakras introduced me to DV8, almost 5 years ago, it has been my Cheers with a twist! I have loved performing there, dancing, making friends, feeling community, and so much more! Plus, VODKA!!! lovely infused spirits and the most wonderful folks who have created such a welcoming artful space. I LOVE DV8! What a variety of events that include ALL community, as well as private events. As long as I have been attending, DV8 has been LGBTQ grounded. This reflects my ideals and my friend community in daily life. I feel satisfied around the fusion of all walks of life and experiences as equal and DV8 provides just that! As a person who loves people, I feel so welcomed as if I am part of a close family. Cheers with a twist! Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to acceptance, love, peace, and fun! But be careful, the staff is Dead Sexy.

Last night we attended the New Years Eve event at Deviant Spirits. We drove from Colorado Springs because I am a native of Boulder and had heard good things about Deviant.The venue to extremely crowded and not well thought out for the number of people in attendance. The only seating was 8-10 seats around the bar which were never available.I would have loved to have seen the featured dancers and performers. However, if you were 1/2 to further back in the tent, then you were out of luck. All you got were head shots. You felt like sardines in a can. Three of the early burlesque dancers looked like they were no more than 16 or 17 years old (I’m assuming they were older, but just looked really young). Neither looked like she was enjoying herself and at one point I almost asked if they were safe since I work in human trafficking.My husband had unfortunately been told that morning that he either had a boxers cyst in his leg or a DVT. Having spent almost $900 to attend this party, we opted to go and enjoy ourselves. At times, the staff was rude to my husband as he tried to find places to stand with his crutches on hand. Frustrated, we left around 10:45.I will give this place credit for a couple things. First) they have an incredible marketing team because they made this event sound really amazing and much more grand on paper and that is no easy task. Second, the music was amazing! I really enjoyed the music. And lastly, the drinks were tasty. They have bar tenders who know what they are doing.

Love this place and dont go nearly enough.It has a funky coffee house vibe and everyone is super friendly.Oh and the whiskey is top notch and made with pride, love, & dedication which every sip shows.

Absolutely best vodka & gin - Ive ever tasted. Now they have whiskey for the whiskey drinkers too. The cocktails are seasonal, the location is nice and relaxing at the east side of Pearl St. - its an easy Lyft or Uber from anywhere in town. They have amazing parties on the weekends also. This place is so welcoming and friendly. Perfect for a date, perfect for a meet - up, excellent for parties! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

DV8 is by far my favorite bar/distillery in Boulder. They have awesome unique events and an amazing team of people running it. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

These guys have an amazing product. Gluten Free... Vodka WITH CHARACTER. The infusions they do are beyond tasty and the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. I love the fresh wood at the distillery and my favorite infusion is the Pineapple if they have it around. Definitely worth a visit to this place. DV8 from the norm!

Delicious and innovative cocktails in a funky converted warehouse. The bartender/owners are great and the rice vodka (both infused and regular) are not to be missed. Be sure to check out their Block Parties in conjunction with J Wells and Rowdy Mermaid.

Dv8 hosted The Dirty Circus, I was so very excited to take my friend. I bought our tickets got all dressed up, my friend picked me up and headed to DV8. On the way there I got a phone call telling me I had been exposed to COVID. I am not fully vaccinated yet so I immediately contacted the event organizer. And asked for a refund and I have yet to hear from them. I could have gone to the event and never said anything but I wanted to keep the people attending the event safe as well as the performers, bar staff and all others that would be attending. A response would have been appropriate. I have now asked for a refund on the the 2 tickets I purchased.

Absolutely amazing vodka distillery. Here you will find a more rare rice vodka that is impeccably smooth and flavorful. Stellar infusions, ad the Thai martini which is fantastic. Johnathan and staff are very friendly, helpful and informed. If youre in Boulder this is a must for local spirits.

DV8 has been home since I moved to Colorado in 2018. The events and drag shows their all have created not only a fun and exhilarating environment but I have always felt safe here and no that I can address anything with the staff and it’ll be heard and taken care of. Everyone from the staff to the patrons are amazing and I’m so thankful to be here.

Incredibly clean rice vodka and infusions. They bottle and sell them, but the tasting room is where the magic happens. Amazing cocktails that showcase their vodka as well as their mixology skills.Location is a little off the beaten path, but once you discover the neighborhood, theres a welcoming atmosphere thatll bring you back again and again.

The STAFF IS AMAZING. CROWD IS AMAZING. The person in a denim tuxedo emanating violence and threatening to “fuck someone up for talking to their wife” license plate DEVIATE, really brought down the vibe of the Boulder Burlesque fundraiser. Owner? Unsure. Un professional nonetheless.

YES! The small spirits distillery is the new Boulder trend, and Deviant Spirits is one of the best. The signature spirit is the DV8 Vodka made from rice--quite smooth. They have also created an amazing DV8 Gin. Many of their drinks feature the vodka and gin in various forms (lots of infusions), and the owner-bartenders are super knowledgeable. They even host parties there from time to time, including the famous glow paint events. The distillery is tucked away off Pearl and 49th, and it is worth finding it. I will continue to support this cool place.

If you are looking for a hole-in-the-wall kind of distillery, this is your best bet. Their whole selection is rice base, so the vodka is unbelievably smooth, the gin has subtle but distinct botanical notes, and the whiskey has a good punch.

Great distillery and tasting room. The vodka was so smooth and flavorful. We each had a cocktail and played some table-top games.

Edit: changed to 2 star since owner replied quick with explanation.Tried to visit during business hours on 2/29/20 door was locked. No sign they were closed besides locked door and no lights inside. Dug through the website to find theyre closed for renovations till March. Sign on the door woulda been nice.

Ive been here a handful of times now - the staff is great, the drinks are great, the atmosphere is great! You should definitely stop by if youre in the neighborhood.

As an avid craft beer drinker that isnt into vodka, I wasnt sure how Id like this place. Turns out its amazin! Great service and great vodka. Ive been back and will continue to return!
